Jiao (交)
What it means
Jiao (the old yin line): When tossing coins, if all three are heads, it is jiao, marked as '×', and its number is six. The jiao line represents a yin line in motion; movement brings change—jiao transforms into single, meaning old yin becomes young yang, akin to things waning then growing, retreating then advancing, night ending and day dawning. When only one line moves, jiao indicates the future; the matter inquired about will mostly occur in the future. The moving line is the crux of the hexagram; judgment must examine its generating/restraining effects on the 'useful god' and the auspiciousness of the resultant line.
