Gongcao (Yin) was originally an ancient Grand Historian from the State of Song, surnamed Meng and given name Zhongxian. He died on the day of Yin in the tenth month due to deceiving guests and misusing official seals. After his death, he was appointed as Gongcao, so he oversees human lawsuits, disputes, documents, and information. When Tianyi is added upon Gongcao, it signifies receiving a seal of authority and good news; when Tengshe is added, it indicates fear, worry, and uncertainty, followed by the joy of having a daughter; when Zhuque is added, it signifies receiving letters from afar and firelight; when Liuhé is added, it indicates failed marriages; when Gouchen is added, it signifies disputes among women; when Qinglong is added to its original position, it is very auspicious; when Tianhou is added, it signifies matters concerning women's marriages; when Taiyin is added, it is the same as Tianhou; when Xuanwu is added, it signifies gaining wealth and happiness without loss; when Taichang is added, it signifies loss of hidden wealth; when Baihu is added, it signifies domestic misfortune; when Tiankong is added, it signifies disputes, lawsuits, and deceit.
太沖者,古之盜人也。本秦國人,姓姜,字漢陽,撓擾村邑,為盜門戶死九月卯日,除為太沖。知人本命盜賊,門戶分張事。天乙臨門,貴人得財吉。騰蛇火光文字、官事,朱雀同騰蛇,六合主成就婚姻,勾陳陰訟田宅,青龍臨門立有喜至。天后主婚姻,百事成。太陰同天后,玄武盜財,發動得財之喜。太常外得陰財,須主孝順。白虎傷人凶,外出失財及訟也。天空求事不成,外事勾連。
Taichong (Mao) was originally an ancient thief from the state of Qin, surnamed Jiang, with the given name Han Yang. He died on the Mao day of the ninth month after disturbing the village and stealing from doorways. After his death, he was appointed as Taichong, so he governs matters concerning people's destiny, thieves, and the division of doors and households. When Tianyi is present at the gate, it signifies that a nobleman will gain wealth, which is auspicious. When Tengshe is added, it indicates fire, documents, and legal disputes. When Zhuque is added, it is the same as Tengshe. When Liuhex is added, it signifies the success of marriage. When Gouchen is added, it indicates hidden disputes over land and property. When Qinglong is present at the gate, happiness will arrive immediately. When Tianhou is added, it signifies marriage and the success of all affairs. When Taiyin is added, it is the same as Tianhou. When Xuanwu is added, it indicates theft of money, but once it is activated, there will be joy from gaining wealth. When Taichang is added, it signifies gaining wealth from female relatives and the filial piety of family members. When Baihu is added, it indicates injury to people, misfortune, loss of wealth while traveling, and legal disputes. When Tiankong is added, it signifies that endeavors will not succeed and that external matters will be confused and unclear.

Congkui (You) was originally an ancient fugitive from Yan, surnamed Meng, with the given name Zhongren. He died in the third month on a You day while in exile. After his death, he was appointed as Congkui, thus overseeing matters related to people's years, private affairs, imprisonment, and death. If Tianyi is added, it indicates gaining honor through recommendation, and good fortune will arrive quickly. If Tengshe is present, it signifies sorrow and misfortune. If Zhuque is present, it indicates bad news from afar. If Liuhe is added, it signifies the success of marriage. If Gouchen is added, it indicates a courtesan arriving, which is ominous. If Qinglong is added, it signifies the arrival of wealth and joy. If Tianhou is added, it indicates a woman giving birth, with the woman taking charge of the household. Taiyin, when added, has the same meaning as Tianhou. 河魁者,古之亡奴也。本晉國人,姓郭字太宅,病死二月戌日,除為河魁。知人田宅骸骨事也。天乙加臨犯煞凶,騰蛇朱雀陰訟為盜凶。六合爭骸骨,或爭墳墓。勾陳奴僕殺害,亦主訟。青龍貴人帶犬入家凶,天后主悲泣,太陰陰葬喜,玄武盜賊軍兵訟凶,常陰財凶。白虎刀兵斬殺重喪凶,天空鬥訟凶。
Hekui (Xu) was originally an ancient runaway servant from the state of Jin, surnamed Guo, with the name Tai Zhai. He died in the second lunar month on a Xu day. After his death, he was appointed as Hekui, thus governing matters related to people's fields, houses, and bones. If Tianyi is added and also involves a煞 (a harmful influence), it is凶 (unfavorable). If Tengshe and Zhuque are added, it indicates hidden lawsuits and theft, which is unfavorable. If Liuhe is added, it suggests disputes over bones or graves. If Gouchen is added, it indicates servants being killed or lawsuits. If Qinglong is added, it suggests a nobleman bringing a dog into the house, which is unfavorable. If Tianhou is added, it indicates mourning. If Taiyin is added, it suggests secret burial with good fortune. If Xuanwu is added, it indicates thieves, soldiers, and lawsuits, which is unfavorable. Dengming (Hai) was originally an ancient jailer from Lu, surnamed Han, with the given name Yan. He was imprisoned seven times due to theft cases and died on the亥 day of the first lunar month. After his death, he was appointed as Dengming, so he oversees matters related to county officials, property, and appointments. When Tianyi is added, it indicates litigation concerning property and noble persons; when Tengshe is added, it signifies news and illness; when Zhuque is added, it is the same as Tengshe; when Liuhex is added, it indicates joy from transactions and favorable outcomes in marriage; when Gouchen is added, it indicates disputes over land among women; when Qinglong is added, it signifies gaining wealth and the possibility of meeting noble persons; when Tianhou is added, it indicates women taking charge, successful marriages, and all matters being auspicious; when Taiyin is added, it is the same as Tianhou; when Xuanwu is added, although there may be ghosts, thieves, and bandits, they do not cause harm; when Taichang is added, it indicates sorrow; when Baihu is added, it signifies that matters concerning roads and illness are not obstructed; when Tiankong is added, it indicates imprisonment and is ominous.

Shenhou (Zi) was originally an ancient matchmaker from the state of Qi, surnamed Jia, with the given name Zhongyu. He died on the day of Zi in the twelfth lunar month due to fraudulent practices in acquiring wealth. After his death, he was appointed as Shenhou, thus overseeing human marriages and private affairs. When Tianyi is added, it indicates the joy of being guided by a nobleman; when Tengshe is added, it signifies women's sorrow; when Zhuque is added, it indicates news of misfortune or death; when Liuhex is added, it signifies successful transactions; when Gouchen is added, it indicates barrenness and disputes; when Qinglong is added, it signifies meeting with a nobleman and good fortune in seeking wealth; when Shenhou is added, it indicates successful marriages and overall good fortune; when Taiyin is added, it is similar to Shenhou; when Xuanwu is added, it indicates strange occurrences on documents; when Taichang is added, it indicates loss of wealth, but with a transition from bad to good fortune; when Baihu is added, it indicates the arrival of long-awaited letters from afar, bringing good news; when Tiankong is added, it indicates misfortune related to land matters, with more illusion than reality.

Daji (Chou) was originally a person in ancient times who was in charge of cow pens, a man from the state of Zheng, surnamed Zheng, with the given name Ji Xian, who died in the month of Chou on the Chou day. After his death, he was appointed as Daji, so he oversees matters concerning people's annual fate, joys and sorrows, livestock, fields and houses, and disputes involving speech. When Tianyi is added, it indicates seeking the favor of a nobleman and receiving immediate salary, with all affairs auspicious. When Tengshe is added, all affairs bring joy. When Zhuque is added, it is also the same. When Liuhe is added, it indicates disputes, which is inauspicious. When Gouchen is added, it indicates male theft and female adultery, which is inauspicious. When Qinglong is added, it indicates the joy of seeking official positions and gaining wealth. When Tianhou is added, it indicates illness among female relatives and ambiguous situations, which is inauspicious. When Taiyin is added, it indicates women taking charge, gaining wealth, and an increase in people. When Xuanwu is added, it indicates secret plots and disputes and lawsuits, which is inauspicious. When Taichang is added, it indicates the joy of private wealth. When Baihu is added, it indicates thieves causing loss of wealth and damage to livestock. When Tiankong is added, it indicates the meeting of the branches Chen, Xu, Chou, and Wei in the four seasons, resulting in deadly danger, and also indicates disputes and lawsuits. This text only retains seven generals: Gongcao, Taichong, Congkui, Hekui, Dengming, Shenhou, and Daji, while the other five generals are missing due to omissions.
Twelve Noble Spirits Presiding Over Their Own Positions
貴神臨丑,主加官進祿,不然主家大富,其家必許心願。騰蛇臨巳,其家饒殘害之人,亦主火光釜鳴,主招入舍女婿,其家專望書信,尋人。亦主先凶後吉。朱雀臨午,主婦人邪淫,鬥訟,若遇火旺,須主官事。若臨水上須主死亡患病事。
This section explains the matters presided over by each of the twelve noble spirits when they return to their native positions. The Tianyi noble spirit at Chou (its native position is Jichou) signifies promotion and increased official rank; if not, it indicates great wealth in the family, meaning this household must have made a vow. Tengshe at Si (its native position is Dingsi) indicates that the family has many people who harm others, and also signifies fire accidents and the sound of pots and cauldrons. It also suggests the arrival of a son-in-law by marriage, with the family eagerly awaiting news and searching for relatives, ultimately leading to initial misfortune followed by good fortune. The Zhuque noble spirit at Wu (its native position is Bingwu) signifies improper behavior by women and disputes and lawsuits. If it also meets a strong fire element, there will certainly be legal troubles. If it is located in a water position and is overcome by water, it will certainly indicate death or illness.
六合臨卯,主有妻家鞍馬到宅,其家主喜慶,往來頻頻,常做吏人,興盛和交易。勾陳臨辰,主爭張闇昧之事,其家主賊人盜財物出去,又主宅中合有虛驚,在門亦主鬥訟。青龍臨寅,主有財帛,大喜。如旺相,主爭財寶,須得理;其家必主田產,商途有喜,亦主富貴,得此無凶有吉。
Liu He is over Mao (Yimao), indicating that the wife's family will bring horses and saddles to the house, there will be joy and frequent visitors, many people will serve as officials, the family will prosper and trade will be smooth. Gou Chen is over Chen (Wuchen), indicating disputes over ambiguous matters, there will be thieves stealing property, and there will be a false alarm in the house; if it falls on the position of the gate, there will be disputes and lawsuits. Azure Dragon is over Yin (Jiayin), indicating wealth and great joy; if it is also prosperous and strong, it will lead to disputes over wealth and certainly be justified; the family will surely have land, there will be good fortune for those engaged in business outside, and this lesson brings good fortune without misfortune.
天后臨亥,主酒食,或見婚姻事,旺相主居家大吉,富貴之事。大陰臨酉,主有陰人爭鬥訟也,此為不順,以見二金故也。玄武臨子,主有盜賊直入房盜卻衣物,如臨下是陽必是男子,如是陰必是婦人為賊也。
The Heavenly Empress governing亥 (Guihai) indicates there will be food and drink, or matters concerning marriage. If this is in a prosperous and strong state, it signifies great fortune at home, with wealth and honor. The Tai Yin governing酉 (Xinyou) suggests disputes and litigation among female relatives, which is an unfavorable sign, because Tai Yin belongs to metal and酉 also belongs to metal, resulting in two metals overlapping. The Black Tortoise governing子 (Renzi) indicates thieves entering the house directly to steal clothes. If the underlying branch is yang, the thief is a man; if it is yin, the thief is a woman.

The family may experience ruin and disunity, with children suffering from disabilities and illness. Women may cause disputes and lawsuits, and there may be false and dishonest matters.

Zhuque encountering metal signifies illness, and encountering water signifies a woman's difficult childbirth or a man's hemorrhoidal bleeding. If water is beneath Zhuque, it indicates vomiting blood, drowning, or suicide by hanging. Liuhe: The favorable aspect signifies trade transactions and harmonious marriages. Representing a man, it signifies government officials, brokers, and matchmakers. If Liuhe is overcome, it indicates being pursued by authorities. 勾陳:吉主官職、田土,陽用主貧薄。陰用為丑婦、貧婆,有文狀動,克主奴婢走失。見金火則吉,逢水主爭競田土,遇木官事牢獄,為勾惹牽引之人也。青龍:吉主文書、財帛,為人清貴,有官職。生主遷官吉慶,克主官事急速,見水火則吉,逢金主口舌,失文書、破財。遇土有官司,辰戌為牢獄,丑未為笞杖。

If a yin branch is used, it takes the image of an ugly woman or a poor old woman, and there is a situation involving documents. If it is attacked, it indicates the loss of servants. Gou Chen is auspicious when it meets metal or fire, but if it meets water, it indicates disputes over land. If it meets wood (wood overcoming earth), it indicates legal disputes and imprisonment, and the image is of someone who connects or links others. Qing Long: The auspicious aspect indicates documents and wealth, and the person is clear, noble, and holds an official position. If Qing Long is supported, it indicates promotion and good fortune. If it is attacked, it indicates urgent legal matters. Qing Long is auspicious when it meets water or fire, but if it meets metal, it indicates disputes and loss of documents and financial loss. If it meets earth, there are legal disputes, with Chen and Xu indicating imprisonment, and Chou and Wei indicating punishment by caning or whipping.
天空:吉為僧道、骸骨,凶主詐騙不實,為奴僕。見金火則吉,遇水主爭競,逢木主官司、牢獄。白虎:凶主人凶惡,眼黃項短。為凶喪、孝服、道路、驚恐、刀劍、遷移。見水則無事,逢木口舌凶惡。遇火主死喪、災病,下克上凶在外,上克下凶在內。

太陰:吉主女人沉靜,為金銀首飾。逢合主有陰人淫亂,見水土則吉,遇木口舌是非,逢火主災病不利。天后:吉主賞賜,為女人主良善。逢合主婚姻,有求索,遇土主田土事見,入火主婦人病不利,見木上吉。
