The phrase "临某" indicates the branch on which the general is stationed. Gongcao (Yin) stationed on Chen or Xu indicates disputes over official matters and documents, involving conflicts over money, horses, and servants. Stationed on Mao, it indicates disputes among relatives of the same surname, along with secret affairs; the person's intention is to build a house or expand property. Stationed on Si, it indicates sorrow from letters from afar, and also indicates the stove deity causing disturbances. Stationed on Wu, it indicates legal disputes, conflicts over documents, and also arrests by the authorities. Stationed on Wei, it indicates the person's wife being harmed, another wife having been taken in, and also disputes over documents and money.

When Gongcao is over Hai or Zi, water nourishes wood, indicating that there will be a son-in-law coming from outside or unexpected wealth entering the household, and it is favorable for raising livestock, leading to great prosperity. When Gongcao is over Chou, it indicates someone in the household suffering from foot or head ailments, along with financial loss and injury to livestock. When Gongcao is over Yin, it indicates the activation of a sacred tree, with the household recently building a new house, and someone of reputation or an official or clerk emerging from the family.

Over the Shen, it indicates a car accident causing injury to people, and an ox breaking off its left horn. Over the You, it indicates disputes over the household, with repeated noises at home, and that a lock was lost within three years.

Transmission (Shen) over Yin indicates metal overcoming wood, which signifies the death of a superior or parent, or both parents dying, and moving fields or houses brings misfortune. Transmission over Chen indicates someone dying far away or by sword or knife, or someone serving in the military. When Congkui (You) is over the辰, earth generates metal, indicating disputes over copper and iron objects, and legal documents being involved, with conflicts arising from such documents. When Congkui (You) is over the巳, fire overcomes metal, indicating damage to money and property, small people causing trouble by demanding things, and misfortune befalling female family members with obstacles.

Dengming (Hai) does not have fixed interpretations for the positions it governs, because it always needs to be combined with the Day Branch of the divination day. The judgment must be made based on the generation, overcoming, strength, and decline of the four elements: the heavenly stem, the noble god, the general god, and the earthly division. Therefore, the original text does not list specific entries under this heading, but only explains the principle for making judgments: when encountering Dengming, one should return to examine the four elements themselves for the judgment, and should not be bound by fixed sayings.
