The "Month Breaker" is also called "Heavenly Relief." It can resolve doubts and worries. The position of the Month Breaker is: in the first month it is in the hour of Shen, in the second month in You, third in Xu, fourth in Hai, fifth in Zi, sixth in Chou, seventh in Yin, eighth in Mao, ninth in Chen, tenth in Si, eleventh in Wu, and twelfth in Wei. These are all the branches that conflict with the Month Builder of that month. Therefore, Shen breaks Si, Xu breaks Wei, Hai breaks Yin, Chou breaks Chen, Wu breaks Mao, and You breaks Zi. When the Month Breaker appears in the divination, it indicates destruction of objects; worries are dispelled, the sick may die, affairs cannot be completed, wealth lacks strength, pregnant women give birth, and those in captivity may escape. In summary, when the Useful God is broken by the Month Builder, it is called "Relief Deity," also known as "Four Spaces Wasteland."

Xiuqiu refers to the Five Phases being out of season and lacking vitality: earth in spring, metal in summer, wood in autumn, and fire in winter are all considered xiuqiu. When these appear in a divination chart, beneficial spirits falling into xiuqiu cannot truly bring good fortune, and malevolent spirits falling into xiuqiu cannot bring about real misfortune. In matters of illness or litigation, although there may be worries and dangers, they do not result in major calamities. In matters of planning, although there may be joy, they cannot be completed. In matters of wealth, there is little to be gained, and objects are few and small. This is an image of having intention but lacking strength. Although things may seem to want to proceed quickly, it is better to proceed slowly. The month aversion (yueyan) is a harmful influence. In the first lunar month it falls on xu, in the second on you, and so on in reverse order. When it appears in a chart, it indicates someone casting a curse, forming a grudge, or engaging in ambiguous practices such as divination or magical rites. In divination for illness, it indicates a prolonged and unresolved condition.
The year of Jia Zi is a year of breaking and disruption.

The Suijun is the Tai Sui, representing the emperor for the year, and presides over all the deities and ominous forces. It concerns matters related to superiors and senior officials; when a person in official position divines, it indicates good fortune of being promoted and receiving the emperor's audience. If the Tai Sui is weakened, it signifies misfortune for superiors. Whenever the noble deity and general deity are in the same position as the Tai Sui, the matter will be handled that year. The Rijian refers to the general deity being in the same branch as the day branch, and it concerns matters within a single day, hence the saying "When the general deity and day branch are the same, calamities and auspicious events occur within every hundred parts of a day." Within a day and night, the outcome will be clear. If the noble deity or general deity is in a direction that is weak and confined, and also happens to be on the day branch, then good fortune will not receive support and thus fail to be auspicious, while bad fortune will not receive support and thus fail to be ominous.
Day冲 refers to a situation in the divination where one of the elements in the chart is broken by the Day Branch. This indicates damage to objects, difficulties in achieving desired goals, discord among people, and instability in movement or affairs. When hearing about worries, one should not be overly concerned, and when hearing about good news, one should not be overly joyful. Legal matters may take a long time to resolve. It is also said that if the structure of the chart is broken by冲, the structure cannot be formed. If the generating or harmonizing elements are broken, they cannot be used. However, if a strong and prosperous element is subjected to冲, it may immediately activate, and even if there is danger, it is not serious. On the other hand, if a weak and confined element is broken, it becomes empty and ineffective, and even if it is good, it is not considered good.
The trigrams卯 and 酉 are the positions of the gates. If they are afflicted or if the two branches mutually influence each other, it indicates instability and change in the family home, or the need for construction or replacement of the gates. If the chart also contains ghosts, evils, or thieves, it suggests discord within the household. Therefore, it is also said that ifInauspicious Spirit brings a spirit of warfare to the gate positions, calamity will enter; if吉神 brings a harmonious spirit to the gate positions, good fortune will arrive.

The deity discussed here is the Tai Sui, or the Year God. For example, if the Zi branch appears in the lesson of the Zi year, it indicates encountering the Tai Sui. If both the year stem and branch match, it is called the "true Tai Sui," which represents the sovereign, high officials, great masters, leaders, and the head of the family. Officials encountering it are favorable for meeting important persons; ordinary people encountering it indicate involvement with the court or government affairs. If the Tai Sui is present at the door, day branch, or personal year and is overcome, it signifies misfortune for superiors. If the Tai Sui falls on Gongcao (寅) or Chuansong (申), the lesson is divided by June: before June, the Tai Sui refers to the previous year's events; after July, it refers to the coming year's events.

The term "sui chong" is also called "sui po" and "da hao," referring to the branch that is directly opposite the Tai Su. When this appears in a calculation, it indicates blocked paths, lack of communication, loss of property, and damage to the household. If it occurs within the first half of the year, it signifies that the nobleman is displeased, and endeavors will not succeed, also indicating loss of life. "Sui zhai" is the fifth branch counted forward from the Tai Su. When this appears in a calculation, it indicates disputes over property and land. If this zhai shen is restrained, it suggests that there will be misfortune or anxiety among the household members.

In addition, the branches午, 酉, 辰, and 亥 each punish themselves, called self-punishment. The Three Punishments themselves do not determine fortune or misfortune; they become auspicious when assisted by favorable deities and inauspicious when assisted by adverse deities. When prosperous and strong, they are like having a good horse for a carriage, indicating strong action; when weak and confined, they indicate imprisonment, disputes, worries, lawsuits, and doubts, and are suitable for hunting or trapping, but not for illness. The prosperity or decline of the noble spirit (guishen) indicates its ruling influence.
This system uses the noble spirit (guishen) as the main factor in determining the course. Within the four positions, first examine whether they mutually generate, mutually control, or are like and harmonious with each other. Also check if there is a mutual generation or control across one position, thereby carefully determining which position is most vigorous. Once the most vigorous position is revealed, it is known whether the noble spirit is currently in a state of strength, decline, death, or captivity. The vigorous spirit is divided into three layers: the vigorous spirit among the four positions in the current course, the vigorous spirit according to the seasons, and the vigorous spirit according to the day of the divination. The states of decline, death, rest, and captivity are also referenced and compared according to these three layers. The following sections will first present a group of four positions as examples, in the order of person origin, noble spirit, general spirit, and place, then derive the strength or decline of the noble spirit based on this.
For example: The person's original element is earth, the nobleman's element is also earth (heavenly stem), the general's element is fire, and the land element is water. In this case, we look at the strength of earth. Fire is overcome by water, water is overcome by earth, and fire generates earth. Therefore, the earth of the nobleman is the strongest. Generally, the nobleman is associated with matters of the nobleman. If the upper element generates the lower element, it indicates the nobleman has good fortune. If the lower element generates the upper element, it suggests the nobleman will be promoted or transferred, or there will be great joy. If the upper element overcomes the lower element, it indicates the nobleman will be separated or travel far, which is ominous. If the lower element overcomes the upper element, it suggests the person will worry about news from afar and may face legal troubles.
According to the five kinds of energies of Tianyi, if it is in a prosperous place, it indicates the nobleman will gain more blessings and promotion in rank; if it is in a supportive place, it indicates the nobleman will receive great fortune; if it is in a dead place, it indicates the nobleman may experience death or mourning, and there will be no respected elders in the family; if it is in a confined place, it indicates the nobleman may be involved in legal disputes and lose the argument; if it is in a resting place, it indicates the nobleman's family may have illness and lack peace. The person's intention is about the nobleman or respected elders' promotion or change of position.
The heavenly stem is water, the spirit of importance is the snake (belonging to fire), the general spirit is metal, and the earthly branch is earth. In this combination, earth is strong: water overcomes the fire of the snake, fire overcomes metal, earth overcomes water, and fire generates earth. Now that earth is strong, the fire of the snake is in a state of rest. Generally, the snake is associated with disasters and strange events, or seeing fire burning, and it also indicates a false alarm. If the upper position generates the lower position, the fear occurs later; if the lower position generates the upper position, the fear occurs earlier, and there is harm to women. If the snake is in the position of struggle, it indicates fear due to disputes and fighting over food and drink; if it is in the position of death, it indicates fear due to the death of female relatives; if it is in the position of imprisonment, it indicates fear related to imprisonment and shackles; if it is in the position of rest, it indicates fear due to illness. The person's intention is to argue with a woman, as the snake itself symbolizes a woman; even if the person involved is not a woman, the argument will certainly be triggered by a woman. The snake is ultimately a malevolent spirit.
For example: The person's original element is water, the noble god is the Vermilion Bird (belonging to fire), the general god belongs to earth, and the ground element belongs to wood. In this group, wood is strong. Water controls the fire of the Vermilion Bird, earth controls water, wood controls earth, and water generates wood. Now wood is strong, so wood can generate fire, meaning the fire of the Vermilion Bird is in a position of mutual control. Generally, the Vermilion Bird governs documents and speech. When the four positions are like and harmonious, it indicates matters related to seals and messages, and also signifies the arrival of news. When the superior position generates the inferior position, it indicates ambiguous documents and certain initial worries followed by eventual joy. When the inferior position generates the superior position, it indicates disputes and litigation, but it does not result in actual lawsuits. When the person's original element and the noble god are in mutual control, it is called external conflict, indicating disputes coming from outside. When the general god and the ground element are in mutual control, it is called internal conflict, indicating internal wickedness, and also indicates family discord, which manifests in financial loss.
Divide it again according to the strength of the Vermilion Bird: if it is in a prosperous position, it indicates legal disputes and verbal conflicts; if in a supportive position, it suggests disputes over money; if in a dead position, it indicates dangerous and harmful verbal conflicts; if in a captive position, it suggests conflicts arising from imprisonment and possible imprisonment; if in a resting position, it indicates conflicts caused by a lover's infidelity, with impending disputes. The person's intention is about legal matters or seeing bloodshed, caused by disputes over documents. This divination indicates a凶 (adverse outcome), and it is not advisable to inquire about illness, as that would be extremely凶 (adverse).
For example: The heavenly stem belongs to fire, the noble god is Liu He (belonging to wood), the general god belongs to metal, and the earthly branch belongs to fire. In this group, fire is strong: metal controls the wood of Liu He, fire controls metal, and wood generates fire. Now fire is strong, the wood of Liu He is weakened and is in a state of rest. Generally, Liu He is associated with discussion of property, trade prosperity, and matters concerning women's happiness or private affairs between women. When the four positions are harmonious, it indicates litigation and the storage of property; when the upper position generates the lower position, there will be matters of entry and exit, family members being scattered and confused, initially ominous but later favorable; when the lower position generates the upper position, there will be banquets and people traveling far away. In external conflict (when the heavenly stem and noble god are in mutual control), it is advisable to change strategies and plan business for good fortune; in internal conflict (when the general god and earthly branch are in mutual control), there will be loss of property belonging to women, and it will be difficult to gather and manage.

The person's intention is about being pursued by the authorities and mainly searching for a woman.
For example: The heavenly stem belongs to metal, the noble god is Gou Chen (belonging to earth), the general god belongs to water, and the earthly branch belongs to fire. In this group, earth is strong: water controls fire, fire controls metal, Gou Chen's earth controls water, and fire generates earth, so Gou Chen's earth is strong. Generally, Gou Chen governs matters of entanglement and stagnation. When encountering misfortune, it indicates disputes; if the four positions are harmonious, it suggests the person wants to harm others, leading to disputes over property. If the upper position generates the lower position, it indicates a lawsuit with a just cause; if the lower position generates the upper position, it indicates disputes over property. External conflicts indicate disputes outside the home, internal conflicts indicate disputes within the home, and also suggest domestic discord and illness among family members.

Divide it further according to the strength of Gou Chen: if it is in a prosperous position, it indicates a dispute with the Nobleman and the death of livestock; if it is in a secondary prosperous position, it indicates a dispute over money and goods; if it is in a dead position, it indicates a dispute over graves; if it is in a captive position, it indicates disputes due to imprisonment and lawsuits; if it is in a resting position, it indicates disputes concerning livestock. The person coming for consultation is involved in a dispute with outsiders and will not be in the right, there will be no good news, and there is also an indication of illness among female family members.
For example: The heavenly stem belongs to water, the nobleman is the Azure Dragon (which belongs to wood), the general god belongs to earth, and the earthly branch belongs to metal. In this group, metal is strong: the wood of the Azure Dragon overcomes earth, earth overcomes water, metal overcomes wood, and earth supports metal. Since metal is strong, the wood of the Azure Dragon is in a weak position. Generally, the Azure Dragon represents wealth and joy. When the four positions are harmonious, it indicates good news related to documents and wealth; when the upper position generates the lower position, it signifies receiving official seals, receiving money and treasures; when the lower position generates the upper position, it indicates the nobleman gaining blessings and having joyous feasts. External conflict indicates loss of wealth outside, while internal conflict indicates loss of wealth inside.

For example: The person's original element is earth, the noble god is the Heavenly Empress (water), the general god is fire, and the earthly branch is metal. Looking at the strength of earth: the water of the Heavenly Empress overcomes fire, fire overcomes metal, earth overcomes water, and fire also generates earth. Since earth is strong, the water of the Heavenly Empress is in a weak position. Generally, the Heavenly Empress governs private and pleasant matters. If the four positions are harmonious, it indicates a gathering with women and a joyful event. If the upper position generates the lower, it suggests a woman worrying about herself and eagerly waiting. If the lower position generates the upper, it indicates meeting an old friend. For example: The heavenly stem belongs to fire, the noble god is Tai Yin (belonging to metal), the general god belongs to water, and the earthly branch belongs to earth. In this group, earth is strong: fire overcomes Tai Yin's metal, water overcomes fire, earth overcomes water, and fire generates earth. Since earth is strong, earth can generate metal, placing Tai Yin in a position of decline. Generally, Tai Yin governs private, hidden, and ambiguous matters.
For example: The person's original element is fire, the noble god is Xuanwu (water), the general god is earth, and the land element is fire. In this group, earth is strong. Xuanwu's water overcomes fire, earth overcomes water, and fire generates earth. Since earth is strong, Xuanwu's water is in a weak position. For example: The heavenly stem is wood, the nobleman is Tai Chang (earth), the general god is metal, and the earthly branch is fire. In this group, fire is strong: wood overcomes Tai Chang's earth, metal overcomes wood, fire overcomes metal, and wood generates fire. Since fire is strong, it can generate earth, placing Tai Chang in a position of decline. Generally, Tai Chang governs clothing, capping, and food and drink. When the four positions are like and harmonious, it indicates wearing flowers, joy, and beauty. Since metal is strong, the earth of Tian Kong is weakened and is in a state of rest. Generally, Tian Kong indicates false and deceptive matters, as well as disputes and lawsuits, and the presence of monks and Taoists in the family. If the upper element generates the lower element, it indicates that there are monks and Taoists in the family. If the lower element generates the upper element, it indicates that there are monks outside. If the upper element overcomes the lower element, it indicates that the door and windows are noisy or the house is breaking. If the lower element overcomes the upper element, it indicates that the monks outside are sick.
