Twelve Palaces Divination

宅典與人住者。但內卦，父爻宅爻合應爻，或應爻克內卦宅爻父爻，或應居二爻，或應爻支神，與宅爻支神同者，俱主屋與人住。應帶日辰，則為寄居也。又應臨玄刃虎殺來克宅，住屋人奸惡也。應加龍德福喜生合者，住屋人循良也。

If a house is leased to someone else to live in: as long as the parents' line, the dwelling line, and the response line in the inner trigram are harmonious, or the response line overcomes the dwelling line's parents' line, or the response line is exactly on the second line, or the earthly branch of the response line matches that of the dwelling line, it indicates that the house is rented out to others. If the response line is accompanied by the day branch, it merely means temporary residence. If the response line is accompanied by the Black Tortoise, the Sheep's Blade, the White Tiger, orInauspicious Sha and overcomes the dwelling line, the person living in the house is cunning and evil. If the response line is accompanied by the Azure Dragon, Heavenly Virtue, Fortune Virtue, or Heavenly Joy and harmonizes with the dwelling line, the person living in the house is law-abiding and upright.

住人宅者。但宅爻帶父逢空，或父不現，或身世與外卦父母爻相合者，供租賃之宅也。得需頤二卦主店居也。管公口訣曰，土空者，賃屋住也。

If someone is living in someone else's house: as long as the dwelling line carries the parents' element and falls into an empty position, or if the parents' element does not appear at all, or if the body line and world line combine with the parents' element in the outer trigram, then it indicates living in a rented house. If the hexagrams of Need and Yí appear, the owner is living in a shop. The "Guan Gong's Mnemonic" says: if the earth line falls into an empty position, it indicates living in a rented house.

離祖過房者。凡世空，與世逢沖，或身世臨五六爻動，主離祖過房，或出遠方也。又世臨外卦之爻，與宅爻同支神者，謂世臨外宅，動則離祖分居，靜亦主住偏宅也。又指掌訣云，住沖六位，變祖遷移。兩鬼兩財，兩承宗祀。二父當權，重拜雙親也。

If the world line falls into an empty position, or if the world line is afflicted by a clash, or if the body line and world line are located on the fifth or sixth lines and become active, it indicates leaving the ancestral home, being adopted by another family, or moving away. Also, if the world line is located in the outer trigram and shares the same earthly branch as the dwelling line, this is called "world line facing the outer dwelling": if it becomes active, it signifies dividing from the ancestral household and living separately; if it remains still, it indicates living in a side house. The "Pointer of the Hand" also states: if the dwelling place clashes with the sixth line, the ancestral property will be sold and a move is necessary; if there are two sets of official ghosts and two sets of wealth in the hexagram, it indicates inheriting the family lineage in two places; if there are two sets of parents in control, it indicates a need to revere the parents again.

分別住宅吉凶者。管公口訣曰，金爻動正西西北，西南皆逃流。東可住，留子孫。水爻空，東北寡，西南孤，西北出爛足，正南可住。火爻動，東方災困多年，一床快燒，西北兩代孤寡，西南逃，東南可住。

To determine the auspiciousness of different directions for a residence, the "Guan Gong's Mnemonic" states: When the metal element is active, the directions of due west, northwest, and southwest will experience loss and dispersion, while the east is suitable for residence and can retain descendants. When the water element is empty, the northeast will produce widows, the southwest indicates solitude, the northwest will have foot ailments, and only due south is suitable for residence. When the fire element is active, the east will suffer continuous misfortunes and even beds may be burned, the northwest will have two generations of orphans, the southwest will experience dispersion, and only the southeast is suitable for residence.

土爻不空不動，正西難住，主蔭三代老寡，兩房幼寡，留孫不絕，東北正東可居。木爻動，正東西北東北有子，東南正西主孤，正西不可安床，西南有禍。又曰，木洩無聚，正東難居，木旺有生，正東發福，取天干以合地支五行，同以此法推之也。

The earth element is neither empty nor active, making it difficult to live in the west. Although it can support three generations, there will be an old widow and two young widows from the two branches. Fortunately, the descendants will not be cut off. The northeast and due east are suitable for living. The wood element is active, so there will be descendants in the east, northwest, and northeast. The southeast and west will lead to loneliness. It is not suitable to install a bed in the west. The southwest may bring misfortune. It is also said that the wood element is diffused and not gathered, making it difficult to live in the east. However, if the wood is strong and supported, the east will bring good fortune. The combination of heavenly stems and earthly branches according to the five phases is also determined in this way.

問宅分合者，但宅爻逢合則合，逢沖則分也。兄弟動者分，官鬼動者合。世身靜而居庫，合住必久。如逢日辰合出，則出祖之命也。世身臨兄動，亦主分礜。如逢日辰合進，主前分後合也。若世身遇白虎凶神沖剋，得日神合出者，必然改故鼎新也。或世身帶金木暗動，意欲重新更改，然後分析也。如二爻空亡帶殺，分必不利也。衰化生扶，先貧後富也。旺之沖剋，先富後貧也。前卦無財後卦有，分後興隆也。前卦有財後卦無，分後蕭條也。

When asking about whether the family lives together or apart, if the house line is joined, they live together; if it is in conflict, they live apart. If the siblings line is activated, it indicates the family will separate. If the official ghost line is activated, it indicates the family will live together. If the world line and the body line are quiet and located in a repository or tomb, once they are joined, the situation will last long. If they are joined out by the day branch, it means the person is destined to leave the ancestral home. If the world line and the body line are on the siblings line and activated, it also indicates separation. If the day branch joins them in, it means they will first separate and then reunite. If the world line and the body line are afflicted by the white tiger and otherInauspicious Spirit and are joined out by the day branch, there will be a complete change. If the world line and the body line carry metal and wood and have covert movement, it indicates the intention to renovate first and then separate. If the second line is empty and carriesInauspicious Sha, separation will be unfavorable. If the line is weak but transforms into a line that generates and supports, it will first be poor then become rich; if the line is strong but encounters conflict and control, it will first be rich then become poor. If the previous hexagram has no wealth but the later one has wealth, the family will flourish after separation; if the previous hexagram has wealth but the later one does not, the family will become destitute after separation.

問宅蔭者。但木居外卦，旺動合宅爻父爻者，必有大樹庇廕也。如日刑木爻，其木方砢。有月建刑剋，木已斫久。若木鬼帶螣蛇光影殺動者，宅邊有枯樹為精也。

When asking about whether there are trees providing shade for a house, if the wood element is in the outer trigram and is prosperous and strong, and it harmonizes with the house trigram and the parents trigram, there will certainly be a big tree providing shade. If the day branch harms the wood element, the tree has recently been cut; if the month builder harms the wood element, the tree has been cut a long time ago. If the wood element with official ghost carries the snake and shadow evil stars, there are withered trees with spirits by the house.

問宅飾者。宅爻天干，逢甲為板閣架，乙為板柵，丙丁為彩畫，戊己為塵土，庚辛為畫飾，壬癸為油漆，或屋下水池也。金子動來生合父，或金子動化父者，有玉砌雕欄也。火子動來生合父，屋內必懸圖畫。父下伏鬼，是神佛像也。

When asking about the decoration inside a house, look at the heavenly stem of the domestic爻. If it is Jia, there are board eaves and wooden frames; if Yi, there are wooden boards and fences; if Bing or Ding, there are painted decorations; if Wu or Ji, there is dust without any decoration; if Geng or Xin, there are painted decorations; if Ren or Gui, there is painted varnish, or there is a water pool beneath the house. If the metal爻's子孙 moves and generates and harmonises with the parents, or if the metal爻'sChildren changes into the parents, there are jade steps and carved railings in the house. If the fire爻'sChildren moves and generates and harmonises with the parents, there must be pictures hanging inside. If the parents are hidden beneath the official ghost, there are pictures of gods and buddhas hanging.

宅有魔魅者。凡官鬼加虎玄金爻暗動，來刑沖剋害父爻，世爻宅爻者，俱屋有暗算也。鬼初爻暗動，在後金柱也。二爻動，在中欄柱也。三爻動，在大金柱也。四爻動，在前金柱也。五爻動，在前小金柱也。六爻動，在前步柱也（陽在左，陰在右）。金鬼，銅鐵器物。木鬼，竹木雕刻物。土鬼，磚瓦琢成物，或泥土物。水鬼，紙畫形像。火鬼，乃骨物也。

If there are objects buried in the house to cause a spirit trap, whenever the official ghost combines with the white tiger and black tortoise and the metal line moves covertly, and it comes to punish and clash with the parents line, the world line, and the house line, it indicates that someone has secretly done something to the house. If the official ghost moves covertly in the first line, the object is buried under the rear gold pillar; if it moves in the second line, it is in the middle column; if in the third line, it is in the main gold pillar; if in the fourth line, it is in the front gold pillar; if in the fifth line, it is in the front small gold pillar; if in the sixth line, it is in the front step pillar. Yang lines are on the left, and Yin lines are on the right. If the official ghost is a metal line, the buried object is made of copper or iron; if it is a wood line, the object is carved from bamboo or wood; if it is a soil line, the object is made of bricks or tiles or clay sculpture; if it is a water line, the object is a paper drawing of a human figure; if it is a fire line, the object is made of bones.

鬼加虎，乃走獸須防疾病也。鬼加雀，乃飛禽，當慮官非也。蛇多魔夢虛驚也，玄主姦淫竊盜也，勾則田蠶損耗也，龍則胎產成虛也。鬼臨月日，木刻人形，災生小口也。鬼若逢沖，家人常見。鬼動遇合，災害不成也。（秦人鄒道岸，客遊燕衛間，專為人取厭魅，獲利萬金，用此十法也。）

Official Ghost combined with White Tiger indicates the presence of a beast image, and one should beware of illness; Official Ghost combined with Vermilion Bird indicates a bird image, and one should be cautious of legal troubles; combined with Escarabajo, there are often nightmares and sudden frights; combined with Black Tortoise, it signifies adultery and theft; combined with Gou Chen, there is damage to land and sericulture; combined with Azure Dragon, there is failure in pregnancy and childbirth. When Official Ghost is accompanied by Month Builder and Day Branch, it represents a wooden figure, and the calamity will affect children. If Official Ghost encounters a conflict, family members often see it; if Official Ghost is activated but meets a harmonious element, the disaster will not occur. A person from Qin named Zou Dao'an traveled between Yan and Wei, specializing in creating protective charms against nightmares, earning profits of ten thousand gold, using these ten rules.

宅有伏尸藏物者，但財墓於二爻，有財寶埋藏也。鬼墓於二爻，有伏尸也。子入墓，下埋小兒和尚也。陰財入墓，下埋陰人奴婢也。父入墓，下埋老人衣冠文書也。兄入墓，下有孔竅坑井填築也。加龍在左，加虎在右，雀前武后，勾中蛇側角也。

If there are hidden corpses or buried objects beneath the house: if the Wealth trigram is in the墓 position in the second line, there are treasures buried underground; if the Official Ghost trigram is in the墓 position in the second line, there are hidden corpses. If the Children trigram is in the墓 position, there are buried children or monks; if the Wealth trigram is in the墓 position on a yin line, there are buried women or servants; if the Parents trigram is in the墓 position, there are buried old people's clothing and documents; if the Siblings trigram is in the墓 position, there are buried holes or wells that have been filled. The direction is still determined by the Six Spirits: with the Azure Dragon on the left, the White Tiger on the right, the Vermilion Bird in front, the Black Tortoise behind, the Gou Chen in the center, and the Teng Sha on the side.

宅有怪異者。以鬼爻動為用也（靜則無怪），孟月三四為怪爻，仲月二五為怪爻，季月初六為怪爻也。凡怪爻，加鬼煞持身世動，或帶鬼殺動，來刑害沖剋身世，或逢財動助鬼來傷身世者，或身世隨鬼入墓者，皆主災難脫也。怪爻在乾，西北方現也，入艮，東北方現也。入巽，東南方現。入坤，西南方現。離南坎北震東兌西也。

If there is a supernatural creature causing trouble in the house, the Official Ghost line is taken as the useful god. If the Official Ghost is quiet, there is no supernatural occurrence. In the first month, the third and fourth lines are considered the strange lines; in the second month, the second and fifth lines; and in the third month, the first and sixth lines. If the strange line combines with the Official Ghost andInauspicious Sha (evil stars) to affect the personal and world lines, or if it brings the Official Ghost andInauspicious Sha to punish, harm, clash, or control the personal and world lines, or if the Wealth line supports the Official Ghost to harm the personal and world lines, or if the personal and world lines are buried along with the Official Ghost, it indicates great disaster that is hard to escape. If the strange line is in the Qian trigram, the supernatural creature appears from the northwest; if in the Gen trigram, from the northeast; if in the Xun trigram, from the southeast; if in the Kun trigram, from the southwest; if in the Li trigram, from the south; if in the Kan trigram, from the north; if in the Zhen trigram, from the east; and if in the Dui trigram, from the west.

鬼爻伏父動，怪在堂也。伏鬼動，怪在廳也。伏財動，怪在廚灶臥房倉庫也。伏福動，怪在廊廡廂房也。伏兄動，怪在門戶坑廁也。鬼屬金怪從土中出也。屬木，怪從水中出也。屬水，怪從五金中出也。屬火，怪從木中出也。屬土，怪從火中出也。

When the official ghost line is activated with the parents hidden beneath it, the strange occurrence is in the main hall; if the official ghost is hidden and activated, the strange occurrence is in the hall; if the wealth line is hidden and activated, the strange occurrence is in the kitchen, bedroom, and storeroom; if the children line is hidden and activated, the strange occurrence is in the corridor, side rooms, and pavilions; if the siblings line is hidden and activated, the strange occurrence is at the gate and latrine. If the official ghost belongs to metal, the strange occurrence emerges from the earth; if it belongs to wood, the strange occurrence comes from water; if it belongs to water, the strange occurrence arises from metal; if it belongs to fire, the strange occurrence comes from wood; if it belongs to earth, the strange occurrence emerges from fire.

如加龍，怪青黑色，長嘴，徴聲，有足有尾，善變化也。加雀，怪赤黃色，尖小有嘴口能快飛，或鳥怪也。加勾，怪黃黑色，形矮扁，或山魈野魅也。加蛇，怪紅黃色，善走動，或蛇與狐狸也。加虎，怪白色，有須無項，或伏尸為崇也。加武怪黑色活動不定，或獺怪也。

If the Qinglong is added, the monster is dark green and black, has a long beak, a weak cry, legs and a tail, and is good at changing forms; if the Zhuque is added, the monster is red and yellow, small in shape with a beak, able to fly quickly, or perhaps it is originally a bird-like monster; if Gou Chen is added, the monster is yellow and black, short and flat in shape, or perhaps a mountain demon; if Tengshe is added, the monster is red and yellow, good at running and moving, or perhaps a snake and a fox; if the Baihu is added, the monster is white, has a beard but no neck, or perhaps a corpse causing trouble; if the Xuanwu is added, the monster is black, moves unpredictably, or perhaps a strange creature like a otter.

神殺：寅月、卯月、辰月、巳月、午月、未月、申月、酉月、戌月、亥月、子月、丑月。犬怪殺。蛇怪殺：戌、未、辰、丑、戌、未、辰、丑、戌、未、辰、丑。鳥怪殺：未、午、巳、辰、卯、寅、丑、子、亥、戌、酉、申。

The supernatural omens corresponding to the divine calamities are arranged by month, listed horizontally from the month of寅 to the month of丑, covering twelve months. The dog demon calamity (犬怪煞) is listed as Yixing, but the original text does not specify the earthly branch it corresponds to. The snake demon calamity (蛇怪煞) is in戌 in the month of寅, in未 in the month of卯, in辰 in the month of辰, in丑 in the month of巳, in戌 in the month of午, in未 in the month of未, in辰 in the month of申, in丑 in the month of酉, in戌 in the month of戌, in未 in the month of亥, in辰 in the month of子, and in丑 in the month of丑. The bird demon calamity (鸟怪煞) is in未 in the month of寅, in午 in the month of卯, in巳 in the month of辰, in辰 in the month of巳, in卯 in the month of午, in寅 in the month of未, in丑 in the month of申, in子 in the month of酉, in亥 in the month of戌, in戌 in the month of亥, in酉 in the month of子, and in申 in the month of丑.

宅進田產者。但土財生合世身，或勾喜生合世身，與勾克世財者，住主進產。旺多，衰少。惟空則有名無實也。在外卦他宮來生合，得外家分授之產。內卦本宮來生合，乃自己續置田產也。得於何人，六親定之。得於何方，八卦定之。得於何時，生旺月日定之。

When asking about the possibility of adding land property to the family home, if the earth element and wealth爻 generate and harmonize with the world line and body爻, or if Gou Chen and Heavenly Joy generate and harmonize with the world line and body爻, and if Gou Chen overcomes the wealth爻 on the world line, it indicates that the family will acquire property. If the爻 is strong, more property will be added; if the爻 is weak, less property will be added; if it falls into an empty position, it means there is only the name without the reality. If the generation and harmonization comes from the outer trigram's other palace, the property comes from the outside family; if it comes from the inner trigram's own palace, the property is acquired gradually by oneself. The source of the property is determined by the six relations, the direction is determined by the eight trigrams, and the time is determined by the flourishing and vigorous months and days.

凡勾值太歲動，與世克動勾，或財動克勾，或勾臨木鬼動，住主退賣田產也。要知因何退賣，以六親六神推之，雀鬼克世因訟退也。虎鬼克世，喪葬退也。龍鬼克世，婚嫁退也。蛇鬼克世，求籤信佛退也。玄鬼克世，姦淫盜賊退也。又宅爻臨土空動者，無田地。動而不空，有些產存也。

Whenever Gou Chen and the Tai Suai are both present and active, or the World Line爻 is used to overcome the active Gou Chen, or the Wealth爻 is active and overcomes Gou Chen, or Gou Chen is accompanied by the Wood爻 Official Ghost and becomes active, it indicates that the family will have to sell land. To determine the reason for the sale, use the Six Relations and Six Spirits for analysis: if the Vermilion Bird Official Ghost overcomes the World Line, it is due to legal disputes; if the White Tiger Official Ghost overcomes the World Line, it is due to funeral expenses; if the Azure Dragon Official Ghost overcomes the World Line, it is due to marriage; if the Teng Sha Official Ghost overcomes the World Line, it is due to seeking fortune through divination or religious practices; if the Black Tortoise Official Ghost overcomes the World Line, it is due to adultery or theft. If the dwelling爻 is accompanied by the Earth爻 and is empty, the family has no land; if it is active but not empty, there are still some properties remaining.

宅得財者，但之宮內卦財動生合身世者，主得至親財，本宮外卦，遠親財。他宮內卦，鄰里財，他宮外卦，遠方爻財。旺多衰少。以五行定其何物，以八卦定其何方，以六親定其何人。如卦中無財，廳上變出財來生合生世者，主不意中得直來之物（詳見身命貧富占中）。

When asking about the possibility of gaining wealth at home: if the wife and wealth line in the inner trigram of the current hexagram is activated and generates and harmonizes with the person's line and world line, it indicates gaining wealth from close relatives. If the outer trigram of the current hexagram generates and harmonizes with the person's line and world line, it indicates gaining wealth from distant relatives. If the inner trigram of another hexagram generates and harmonizes with the person's line and world line, it indicates gaining wealth from neighbors. If the outer trigram of another hexagram generates and harmonizes with the person's line and world line, it indicates gaining wealth from people from afar. If the line is strong, the amount gained is more; if the line is weak, the amount gained is less. The type of wealth gained is determined by the five phases; the direction from which it comes is determined by the eight trigrams; and the person from whom it comes is determined by the six relations. If the hexagram originally does not contain the wife and wealth line, but the wife and wealth line appears through transformation from the hall line to generate and harmonize with the world line, it indicates gaining unexpected wealth that is given directly, as detailed in the section on poverty and wealth in the 'Body and Life' section.

宅嫁娶者。但卦中財鬼二爻同動，來生合世爻宅爻者，或卦有財，而日辰是鬼相生合，或卦有鬼，而日辰是財相生合，或財鬼二爻動，變來生合世爻宅爻，皆主婚姻之喜。宅爻世爻逢空，則不成也。

If the question is about whether there is a marriage in the family, then if both the wife's wealth and official ghost lines are activated in the hexagram and they come to generate and harmonize with the world line and the house line; or if the wife's wealth is present in the hexagram and the day branch is the official ghost to generate and harmonize with it; or if the official ghost is present in the hexagram and the day branch is the wife's wealth to generate and harmonize with it; or if both the wife's wealth and official ghost lines are activated and the transformed lines also come to generate and harmonize with the world line and the house line—these all indicate the joy of marriage. If the house line and the world line are empty, the marriage will not happen.

宅懷孕者。以胎爻為主也。如乾卦以水為子孫，水胎於午，卦中午爻動，或化出午爻者，皆有懷胎之喜也。要知何人受胎，以六親斷之，胎臨父母，是叔伯母。臨財，則妻妾婢。臨兄，則嫂與弟婦姐妹。臨子，則女與媳。臨鬼，或鬼化出胎者是鬼胎。主虛喜也。胎爻動，生其目下，不動，尚遲也。

When asking about whether there is a pregnancy in the family, the focus should be on the爻 of the fetus. For example, in the Qian hexagram, water represents children, and the fetal position of water is in Wu. If the Wu line is activated in the hexagram or transforms into the Wu line, it indicates a happy news of pregnancy. To determine who is pregnant, use the Six Relations: if the fetal line is on the Parents, it refers to the maternal aunt or paternal uncle; if on the Wealth, it refers to the wife, concubine, or maid; if on the Siblings, it refers to the sister-in-law, brother's wife, or sisters; if on the Children, it refers to the daughter or daughter-in-law; if on the Official Ghost or if the Official Ghost transforms into the fetal line, it indicates a ghost fetus, which results in empty joy. If the fetal line is activated, childbirth is imminent; if not activated, it will be delayed.

宅添丁口者。但應臨財福，生合宅爻世爻者，必進人丁。如世爻動，克應上財福，則有通賣人口之事，應臨財福空亡者，謀事難成也。

When asking whether the family can add more members, if the Response Line is accompanied by Wealth and Children and generates and harmonises with the House Line and World Line, it definitely indicates an increase in family members. If the World Line moves and goes on to overcome the Wealth and Children on the Response Line, this instead suggests the possibility of selling people. If the Response Line although accompanied by Wealth and Children falls into the void, the plan will have difficulty in succeeding.

宅遭回祿者。但人宅相沖（一爻五爻）加燭火天燭天火天禍殺，或殺帶鬼動，持克世爻宅爻，或世爻宅爻持雀火，動化鬼爻，或雀動，化日辰火鬼，或日辰帶雀火鬼，沖剋世爻宅爻或日雀，與月雀，並動，或月雀帶鬼，遇日辰沖並動者，俱主失火也。

If the family residence suffers a fire, it is indicated when the human line and the residence line are in conflict, meaning the fifth line and the second line are in conflict, along with the presence of the candle fire evil, heavenly candle evil, heavenly fire evil, and heavenly misfortune evil; or when malevolent spirits accompanied by official ghosts are activated, holding and controlling the world line and residence line; or when the world line and residence line hold the Vermilion Bird fire line, which is activated and transforms into official ghosts; or when the Vermilion Bird is activated, transforming into a fire line official ghost of the day branch; or when the day branch carries the Vermilion Bird fire line official ghost to conflict and control the world line and residence line; or when the Vermilion Bird of the day branch and the Vermilion Bird of the month builder are activated together; or when the Vermilion Bird of the month builder carries official ghosts, and meets the day branch conflict and activation. All these indicate a fire in the family residence.

要知何處起火，以八卦推其方所。又世則家下，應乃對門。內為本宅，外則鄉鄰也。又蛇加巳火。在二爻，或六爻，空動者，遭回祿過，不空，十日內有火災。巳在東南，巳沖亥，在西北也。

To determine where the fire starts, use the Eight Trigrams to find its direction. The World Line represents one's own home, and the Response Line represents the neighbor's house. The Inner Trigram is the main residence, and the Outer Trigram is the surrounding neighborhood. If the snake hexagram combines with the fire sign巳 and falls on the second or sixth line and is empty, it indicates a past fire incident. If it does not fall on an empty line, there will be a fire within ten days. The sign巳 is in the southeast, and巳 conflicts with亥, which is in the northwest. The direction of the fire can be determined accordingly.

若火鬼暗動來克宅爻世爻身爻或六爻無鬼，而動化火鬼，刑剋宅爻世爻，身爻，或應帶雀火鬼殺動來刑剋宅身世爻者，俱主讐人放火也。如鬼殺不動，或空死墓絕胎，及水爻旺動持世者，皆無火災。即鬼殺動，而不克宅身世爻者，祈禱可免也。郭雍曰，月破之爻臨火殺，歲君沖鬼朱雀發，刑身克宅宅逢空，百計祈禱難解豁。

If the fire trigram official ghost moves covertly to attack the dwelling trigram, the world trigram, and the body trigram; or if there is no official ghost in the six trigrams, but it appears due to movement, and then attacks the dwelling trigram, the world trigram, and the body trigram; or if the response trigram carries the Vermilion Bird and fire trigram official ghost, along with malevolent stars, and they move to attack the dwelling, body, and world trigrams—these all indicate that fire was set by an enemy. If the ghost and malevolent stars do not move, or if they fall in the positions of emptiness, death, burial, decline, or infancy, or if there is a water trigram that is prosperous and strong and holds the world trigram, there will be no fire. Even if the ghost and malevolent stars move, as long as they do not attack the dwelling, body, and world trigrams, prayers and rituals can prevent the fire. Guo Yong said: if the trigram of the month breaks is covered by fire evil, the year's stem agitates the official ghost and the Vermilion Bird is active, and it also attacks the body and the dwelling trigram, with the dwelling trigram falling into emptiness, then no matter how many prayers you make, you cannot be saved.

宅失賊者。但坎宮水鬼動，或兄化鬼，鬼化兄，或玄鬼帶天賊殺動，或玄下伏鬼暗動，或日辰帶玄鬼暗動，來傷宅世身者，皆主失賊也（暗動者尤驗，應在對沖之月）。若不傷身世，而克宅爻者，足私房小夥有失。鬼爻休囚，是嬉偷白撞賊也。玄鬼帶天盜劫殺旺動，來克身世，是大夥盜也。財化財，加玄武者，防剪縷賊也。又玄臨財動者，但查天賊何月值此爻神，遂以爻神六合之日，斷其失賊極驗。

If a house is robbed, it is mainly due to the Water Trigram (Kan) official ghost爻 being activated, or siblings changing into official ghosts, or official ghosts changing into siblings, or the Black Tortoise official ghost accompanied by the Heavenly Thief sha being activated, or the official ghost hidden under the Black Tortoise moving covertly, or the day branch having the Black Tortoise official ghost moving covertly, and coming to injure the dwelling爻, world line爻, and body爻. This indicates a robbery, and the covert movement is especially effective, occurring in the month that conflicts with it. If it does not injure the body and world line but only injures the dwelling爻, then it is a servant in the private room who has stolen something. If the official ghost爻 is weak and confined, it indicates a thief who takes advantage of unattended moments or a thief who enters by chance. If the Black Tortoise official ghost is accompanied by the Heavenly Robbery sha and Robbery sha is strong and active, and it injures the body and world line爻, it indicates a group of robbers. If the wife's wealth爻 changes into wife's wealth again and is accompanied by the Black Tortoise, one should be cautious of thieves who steal from the waistband. If the Black Tortoise is on the wife's wealth爻 and is activated, one should check where the Heavenly Thief sha is in the month, and take the day of theSix Harmony of that爻 to determine the date of the theft, which is very accurate.

宅有官訟者。但雀鬼持克宅爻世爻者，旺則官司，衰亦口舌。父化官官化父，或雀鬼沖剋三爻四爻（三為門四為戶）。不拘陰陽，皆有戶役官訟也。雀父動，文書尊長之訟。雀福動，少年僧道之訟。雀財動，陰人錢帛之訟。雀兄動，手足朋友之訟。雀伏鬼化鬼，牽連飛來之訟。雀鬼動，化鬼，病訟交加。或一事未了，又惹一事也。本宮，在家事。外宮他處事。若加太歲訟必經年。又鬼伏兄下，暗動克世身者，必牽連之訟。鬼伏財下，臨陰爻，與用爻相合者，必婦人干連之訟。臨陽爻相合，則財帛干連之訟也。

If there is a legal dispute at home: as long as the Vermilion Bird and Official Ghost are present and control the dwelling line and world line, and are prosperous and strong, it indicates litigation. If they are weak, there will be disputes or arguments. If the Parents change into Official Ghost or Official Ghost changes into Parents, or if the Vermilion Bird and Official Ghost clash and control the third and fourth lines—where the third line represents the door and the fourth line represents the gate—regardless of whether the lines are yin or yang, there will be legal disputes involving officials or enforcers. If the Vermilion Bird and Parents are active, the dispute is caused by documents or by elders. If the Vermilion Bird and Children are active, the dispute is caused by young people or monks and Taoists. If the Vermilion Bird and Wealth are active, the dispute is caused by women's property. If the Vermilion Bird and Siblings are active, the dispute is caused by brothers or friends. If the Vermilion Bird and Official Ghost are hidden beneath and change into Official Ghost, the dispute is brought about by others or is a sudden legal matter. If the Vermilion Bird and Official Ghost are active and change into Official Ghost, there will be both illness and legal disputes, or one matter not yet settled will lead to another. If the matter is in the same palace, it is a family matter; if it is in another palace, it is a matter from elsewhere. If the matter is combined with the year's stem, the legal dispute will definitely last for many years. If the Official Ghost is hidden beneath the Siblings and moves secretly to control the world line and body line, it is definitely a matter of being involved in someone else's case. If the Official Ghost is hidden beneath the Wealth and is on a yin line and combines with the use line, it is definitely a case involving a woman. If it combines with the use line on a yang line, it is definitely a case involving money.

宅有瑣碎者。但宅爻安靜，破日辰並起沖起者，在官爻即憂官。在兄爻，即有兄弟相識事。在財爻即有陰人錢帛事。在父爻，即有尊長文書事。在福爻，即有子孫僧道事（克世身者尤驗）。又日辰並沖官爻者，子官休渡海。亥鬼莫臨河。酉官香醪少飲。丑官牛肉莫餐。午官忌乘騾馬。卯官莫上車輿。申休舞劍。未弗牽羊。巳被蛇傷。戌防犬齧。寅當虎噬。辰被龍驚也。

If there are trivial troubles at home: as long as the dwelling line is originally quiet, but is broken by the day branch, or triggered or broken by it, then if it falls on the official ghost line, there will be worries about official matters; if it falls on the siblings line, there will be matters concerning brothers or close friends; if it falls on the wife and wealth line, there will be matters concerning women or money; if it falls on the parents line, there will be matters concerning elders or documents; if it falls on the children line, there will be matters concerning children or monks and Taoists. This is especially effective when it harms the world line and the body line. Also, when the day branch is together with or triggers the official ghost line, there are specific taboos: if the official ghost line is on the zi branch, avoid crossing the sea; if on the hai branch, avoid being near a river; if on the you branch, drink less fine wine; if on the chou branch, avoid eating beef; if on the wu branch, avoid riding donkeys or horses; if on the mao branch, avoid taking a carriage; if on the shen branch, avoid dancing with swords; if on the wei branch, avoid leading a sheep; if on the si branch, beware of snake bites; if on the xu branch, beware of dog bites; if on the yin branch, beware of tiger injuries; if on the chen branch, beware of being startled by a dragon.

以二爻妻財為用也。二爻旺相，新灶。休囚，舊灶。逢沖，破灶也。旺動，廚灶鬧熱。休靜墓絕，灶頭冷澹也。臨父，樓房重建。臨福增進產業。臨兄必分釁。臨妻必寡居。鬼動，必見災殃。鬼空人口瘟疫也。值龍木年見喜。值雀累月官符。值勾不動生財。值蛇虎動有禍。值玄武，靜者吉，而動失賊也。值太歲動，陰人小口災也。太歲空，宅長宅母災也。旺宜守舊，空須更遷也。

Using the second line's妻财 as the useful god, if the second line is prosperous and strong, it indicates a new stove; if weak and confined, it indicates an old stove; if confronted, it indicates a broken stove. When the second line is prosperous and active, the kitchen is lively; if weak and quiet, and also in the墓 or绝, the stove becomes cold and quiet. If the second line is associated with父母, the building needs to be rebuilt; if associated with子孙, there will be an increase in property; if associated with兄弟, there will be family disputes; if associated with妻财, it indicates a widow. If官鬼 is active, there will be calamity; if官鬼 is empty, there will be plague in the household. If the second line is associated with青龙, it brings good fortune in a year of wood; if associated with朱雀, there will be continuous official symbols; if associated with勾陈 but not active, it can bring profit; if associated with腾蛇 or白虎 and active, there will be misfortune; if associated with玄武, it is auspicious when quiet, but misfortune when active. If the year's stem is on this line and active, there will be disaster for women and children; if the year's stem is empty, there will be disaster for the head of the household and the mother. When the line is strong, it is suitable to maintain the old; when the line is empty, it is time to change.

水動明淨，空則失業也。木動煙迷，空則無牕也。土動傷豬畜，空則乖張也。火動箯梁蹊，空則貧寒也。金動鍋損，二金動，中鍋損，土金動，大鍋損，休則小湯鍋損，囚則小尺者損也。金空鍋缺也。三金並見，五鍋之家（干支皆金，本命又金）。干支二火動，重重口舌也。火鬼動，主湯火之災。看刑剋何人命爻，知其何人被災也。

When the water爻 is active, the stove is bright and clean; when the water爻 is empty, the family's fortune declines. When the wood爻 is active, smoke fills the air; when the wood爻 is empty, there are no windows. When the earth爻 is active, pigs are harmed; when the earth爻 is empty, there is discord within the family. When the fire爻 is active, the crossbeam above the stove is blackened by smoke; when the fire爻 is empty, the family is poor. When the metal爻 is active, the iron pot is damaged; when two metal爻 are active, the medium-sized pot is damaged; when earth and metal爻 are both active, the large pot is damaged; when the metal爻 is weak and confined, the small soup pot is damaged; when the metal爻 is in a dead state, an even smaller pot is damaged. If the metal爻 is empty, the pot has a crack. If three metal爻 appear together, there are five pots in the household—when both the heavenly stem and earthly branch belong to metal, and the person's birth stem also belongs to metal. When two fire爻 are active, there are many disputes. When the fire爻 official ghost is active, there is a danger of fire or scalding; look at which person's birth爻 is being harmed by the fire爻, and that person will suffer from this disaster.

坤宮乙巳火動，四月十月，防火災也（四月巳，巳沖亥）。艮宮丙午火動，五月十一月防火災也（五月午，午沖子）。二木動，樓閣重重。二金動，必見孤寡。二水動，勢業難留。二爻戊辰巳丑動，灶前有怪石。休囚必土堆也。二爻甲寅，三爻乙卯動，有橫樑灶上。不動者居中，空動者不跨灶也。

The fire line of Yisi in the坤 palace is activated, so there should be caution against fire hazards in the fourth and tenth months, because the fourth month is built on巳, and巳 conflicts with亥. The fire line of Bingwu in the艮 palace is activated, so there should be caution against fire hazards in the fifth and eleventh months, because the fifth month is built on午, and午 conflicts with子. When two wood lines are activated, there are many layers of buildings; when two metal lines are activated, the family will surely have orphans and the elderly; when two water lines are activated, the family's business will be difficult to maintain. If the second line has Wuchen, Si, or Chou activated, there is a strange stone in front of the stove, but if they are weak and confined, it is just a pile of earth. If the second line has Jiayin activated and the third line has Yimao activated, there is a beam over the stove; if the beam is not activated, it is in the middle and empty; if it is activated, it does not span over the stove.

又灶左為門，灶右為路。左見二木，（坤宮乙卯）兩門相沖。右見二土，（艮宮丙辰），一路相犯也（出管公口訣）。二爻加咸池殺動，灶前有泥土磚石堆，主人口膿血之災。加天火天燭燭火殺，防灶下火起也。二火空，灶無煙樓，或無大灶，或有廢灶也。火鬼動灶必漏煙，火鬼空灶神不安也。火化水，灶前溼漏也。土空欠土修茸也。值勾鬼，泥打灶，勾臨金，半泥半磚也。土鬼動，礅磚為灶也。灶墓同宮，下有伏尸也。

The left side of the stove is considered the door, and the right side is considered the road. If two wooden lines are seen on the left, such as Yimao in the坤 hexagram, it indicates two doors conflicting; if two earth lines are seen on the right, such as Bingchen in the艮 hexagram, it indicates a road interfering. This statement comes from the "Guan Gong's Secret Words." If the second line is combined with the Xianchi evil star, there will be piles of soil, bricks, and stones in front of the stove, indicating that family members may suffer from wounds and blood disorders. If combined with the Heavenly Fire, Heavenly Candle, or candle fire evil stars, one should be cautious of a fire starting under the stove. If two fire lines fall into an empty position, there is no chimney on top of the stove, or there is no large stove, or only an old abandoned stove. If the fire line and the official ghost star are activated, the stove will leak smoke; if the fire line and the official ghost star fall into an empty position, the kitchen god is restless. If fire transforms into water, there will be dampness and leakage in front of the stove; if the earth line falls into an empty position, there is a lack of earth and needs repair. If the Gou Chen official ghost star is present, the stove is made of mud; if the Gou Chen star is combined with the metal line, the stove is half mud and half brick. If the earth line and the official ghost star are activated, the stove is built with brick piers; if the stove line is in the same hexagram as the tomb god, there is a hidden corpse buried under the stove.

木旺動灶上有橫樑。木逢死氣受刑沖者，旁有橫木也。木死絕，乏柴米也。木生旺，多薪谷也。寅空，無提桶。卯辰空，無籠笊。水木空，無鉤桶也。日辰克水庫，（辰土），水缸損。日辰克水庫，（戌土），火缸破也。財動化財，又伏財者，有三灶也。財下伏鬼者，灶必壞也。逢金，磚灶。金虎空，無灶梁。金化火鍋損。金虎帶殺空動，灶鍋崩破也。雀加金鬼動，火燒鍋裂也。金動沖二爻，鍋破也。水動沖二爻，瓶罐破也。酉金沖雀，木杓碎也。

When the Wood line is prosperous and strong and active, there is a crossbeam over the stove; when the Wood line meets death qi and is punished and clashed, there is a piece of crosswood nearby. When the Wood line is dead and exhausted, there is a shortage of firewood and grain; when the Wood line is born and strong, there is plenty of firewood and grain. When the寅 line is empty, there is no bucket; when the卯 or辰 line is empty, there is no bamboo basket or strainer. When both water and Wood lines are empty, there is not even a hook for the bucket. When the day branch overcomes the water storage at辰, the water barrel is damaged; when the day branch overcomes the fire storage at戌, the fire barrel is broken. When the Wealth line is active and changes to Wealth, and there is also Wealth hidden beneath, there are three stoves in the house; when there is Official Ghost hidden beneath the Wealth line, the stove is definitely damaged. When the Metal line is encountered, there is a brick stove; when the Metal line with White Tiger is empty, there is no stove beam; when the Metal line changes to Fire, the pot is broken; when the Metal line with White Tiger bringsInauspicious Sha and is empty and active, both the stove and the pot break. When Vermilion Bird joins the Metal line and Official Ghost is active, the fire is so strong that it cracks the pot; when the Metal line active clashes with the second line, the pot breaks; when the Water line active clashes with the second line, the jar breaks; when酉 Metal clashes with Vermilion Bird, the wooden ladle breaks.

雀加土殺動，灶多蟲蟻也。鬼加咸池殺動，臨亥，近豬圈也。兄加咸池殺動，近坑廁也。玄武水動，近水池坑。武水鬼逢沖，灶下屋漏也。玄武加兄，帶咸池動，穢汙交加也。玄武空，他人之灶也。勾陳動，近牆壁也。蛇鬼空，無煙□。蛇鬼加水動，煙櫃漏煙也。雀加兄鬼動，灶下有呪咀也。虎加鬼動，人有膿血災也。雀兄並立，與人合灶也。鬼逢蛇合，不供灶君也。

The Vermilion Bird combined with a soil element yao produces an evil omen, indicating many insects and ants in the kitchen area. The Official Ghost combined with the Salty Pool omen and positioned on the亥 position indicates the kitchen is close to the pigpen. The Siblings combined with the Salty Pool omen indicates the kitchen is near a pit toilet. The Water yao of the Black Tortoise being activated indicates the kitchen is near a pond or water pit. When the Water yao of the Black Tortoise meets the Official Ghost and is in conflict, there is leakage from the roof of the kitchen. When the Black Tortoise combines with the Siblings and carries the Salty Pool omen, there is a mixture of filth. When the Black Tortoise falls into the empty position, it indicates the stove belongs to someone else. When the Gou Chen is activated, the stove is against the wall. When theTeng Snake Official Ghost falls into the empty position, there is no chimney, the original text here is damaged. When theTeng Snake Official Ghost combines with the Water yao and is activated, the smoke cabinet leaks smoke. When the Vermilion Bird combines with the Siblings and Official Ghost and is activated, someone has cursed the stove. When the White Tiger combines with the Official Ghost and is activated, family members suffer from wounds or blood disorders. When the Vermilion Bird and Siblings are together, it indicates sharing a stove with someone else. When the Official Ghost combines with theTeng Snake, it indicates the kitchen god is not worshipped.

初爻，與申爻動，來合二爻者，井灶相連也。三爻合爻，房灶相連也。臨父旺，大屋下灶。臨福旺，兩廂下灶。四爻兄，加咸池動克二爻，廁欺灶，或灶下有坑磚。二爻，臨兄鬼，加土殺勾陳殺動者，灶間先年是坑基也。三動沖二，房門對灶也。三四動沖剋二，兩門朝灶也。主有門戶官非，且不聚財也。三加虎，沖剋二，碓妨灶也。加金蛇馬動來沖剋，磨妨灶。加木財，福蛇馬動來沖剋，櫳妨灶也。五沖剋二路衝灶，陽前陰後也。二沖剋五，香火下不宜安灶也。六沖克二，棟沖灶。二沖剋六，棟下不宜安灶也。

The first line and the seventh line combine to harmonize with the second line, indicating that the well and the stove are connected. The third line combining with the second line shows that the room and the stove are connected. If the second line is occupied by the parents and is prosperous and strong, the stove is located under the main house. If the second line is occupied by the children and is prosperous and strong, the stove is located under the side rooms. If the fourth line has siblings combined with the salty pool and controls the second line, it indicates that the toilet is pressing against the stove, or there is a brick pit under the stove. If the second line is occupied by siblings or official ghosts, and is combined with earth evils and the Gou Chen evil, it indicates that the stove area was originally the foundation of a toilet. If the third line combines to clash with the second line, the front door is directly facing the stove. If the third and fourth lines combine to clash with the second line, both doors face the stove, leading to disputes between family members and failure to accumulate wealth. If the third line combines with the white tiger to clash with the second line, it indicates that the mortar is obstructing the stove. If it combines with the metal line, the snake, and the post horse to clash with the second line, it indicates that the stone mill is obstructing the stove. If it combines with the wood line, the wealth, children, the snake, and the post horse to clash with the second line, it indicates that the cage is obstructing the stove. If the fifth line clashes with the second line, it indicates that the road is conflicting with the stove, with a yang line in front and a yin line behind. If the second line reversely clashes with the fifth line, it is not suitable to place the stove under the incense and flame. If the sixth line clashes with the second line, it indicates that the roof beam conflicts with the stove. If the second line clashes with the sixth line, it is not suitable to place the stove under the roof beam.

二爻得生扶二眼灶，逢生合，三眼灶。臨四直四眼灶。休囚無生，獨腳灶。木旺動，合二爻初爻又空者，乃行灶也。虎金動合，二爻逢沖者，缸灶也。二臨勾逢空沖剋者，冷灶。雀逢空沖剋者，灶無煙出也。世爻生合二，主人執爨也。財爻，生合二，奴婢司炊也。二合正財，灶下有鬟臥榻。二合五福，灶下有小廝眠床，宜徒也。

If the second line receives support, it indicates a two-eyed stove; if it receives harmonious support, it indicates a three-eyed stove; if it is directly connected with the year, month, day, and hour lines, it indicates a four-eyed stove; if it is weak and lacks support, it indicates a single-eyed stove. If the wood line is strong and active, and combines with the second line while the first line is empty, it indicates a movable stove. If the white tiger metal line is active and combines with the second line, while the second line is in conflict, it indicates a stove modified from a jar. If the second line is occupied by Gou Chen and encounters emptiness or conflict, it indicates a cold stove; if it is occupied by Vermilion Bird and encounters emptiness or conflict, the stove does not produce smoke. If the world line harmonizes with the second line, it indicates the master himself cooks; if the wealth line harmonizes with the second line, it indicates servants cook. If the second line combines with the wealth of the main wife, there is a servant's bed near the stove; if the second line combines with the fifth line's children, there is a servant's bed near the stove, and it is also suitable for a disciple to live.

二爻與金爻沖合，在乾宮者，或乾宮金蛇動，沖二爻者，煙櫃歪也。二爻合六爻子孫者，灶前掛醃臘味也。子居巽，為薰雞。艮為野獸，及狗肉。坎為風魚火腿。兌為薰羊肉。坤為醃牛肉。震為蹄肉野味。離為薰雉。乾為馬肉，連頭帶骨，乾燥珍味也。

The second line conflicts and combines with the metal line, falling into the Qian palace, or the metal line in the Qian palace, represented by the snake, activates to conflict with the second line, indicating that the smoke cabinet is crooked. When the second line combines with the sixth line's children line, there are preserved meats hanging in front of the stove. If the children line is in the Xun palace, it represents smoked chicken; in the Gen palace, it is wild meat and dog meat; in the Kan palace, it is dried fish and ham; in the Dui palace, it is smoked mutton; in the Kun palace, it is salted beef; in the Zhen palace, it is trotters and wild game; in the Li palace, it is smoked wild chicken; and in the Qian palace, it is horse meat, including the head and bones, all dry and precious delicacies.

以三爻逢交折者為床也。旺新，休舊。沖則破也。逢財福吉，遇兄鬼凶也。值龍喜而遷穩處，臨虎煞則安惡方也。勾鬼動而嬰孩夭折。虎福動而老父孤眠也。蛇鬼動，陽人年損。雀財動，陰人壽促也。財空三妻一定也。福空五子皆虛也。兄空，孤身獨立也。父空，借床臥寢也。官空速用遷移也，官旺陰人失，官衰小口失也。

To determine the bed, use the third line where the intersecting and splitting lines meet. If the line is prosperous and strong, it indicates a new bed; if weak and confined, it indicates an old bed; if it is in conflict, it indicates a broken bed. If this line meets the wealth or children, it is favorable; if it meets siblings or officials, it is unfavorable. If the line is accompanied by the Azure Dragon or Heavenly Joy, the bed should be moved to a secure position; if accompanied by the White Tiger or malevolent forces, the bed is already in a dangerous position. If the Gou Chen and officials are active, the infant may die young; if the White Tiger and children are active, the old father will be alone. If theTeng Snake and officials are active, the man will suffer loss in the same year; if the Vermilion Bird and wealth are active, the woman's life will be short. If wealth is empty, one must marry three times; if children are empty, all five sons are empty. If siblings are empty, one is alone; if parents are empty, one is sleeping on borrowed bedding. If officials are empty, one should move quickly; if officials are prosperous and strong, the woman will suffer; if officials are weak, the child will suffer.

金動則多魔，金空主孤獨。酉金動，主利妻也。木動後嗣榮昌，木空，自己無根也。木財生旺，床蓆端然。二木沖床，孤辰少子。正南者凶，若居正東，可留一二承嗣也。木財逢沖，床蓆破損。木財逢空，上無屏風。火金見鬼，刀刃交加。水木見鬼，筆書堆積也。水動滲滴席穿，陰人有痗。火動生災，火空動主二三妻。火空，下無蹈凳。土動，床不安，宜移乾淨處。土空則無父，孤兒也。土旺，難為子息。動則應繼子，空則抱養子也。

When the metal line is activated, there are many nightmares and supernatural disturbances; if the metal line falls into an empty position, it indicates loneliness. When the酉 metal is activated, it is actually beneficial for the wife and family. When the wood line is activated, descendants will flourish; if the wood line falls into an empty position, the person lacks a solid foundation. If the wood line's wealth element is strong and prosperous, the bed is neat and orderly; if two wood lines conflict with the bed, it leads to the Lonely Star and few descendants. If the bed is placed in the south, it is dangerous, but if placed in the east, it may leave one or two descendants to continue the family line. If the wood line's wealth element is conflicting, the bed is damaged; if the wood line's wealth element falls into an empty position, there is no screen on the bed. When the fire and metal lines meet the official ghost, there is a sharp blade attack; when the water and wood lines meet the official ghost, there is a pile of books and writing tools. If the water line is activated, water drips from the roof and soaks the bed, causing illness in the woman; if the fire line is activated, disaster occurs. If the fire line is empty but activated, the person will marry two or three times; if the fire line is empty, there is no footstool under the bed. If the earth line is activated, the bed is unstable and should be moved to a clean place; if the earth line is empty, there is no father, making the person an orphan. If the earth line is strong and prosperous, descendants are difficult to obtain; if activated, a son should be adopted; if empty, a child should be taken in.

又三爻持木伏木更化木者，或四直帶木來生合者，房內有三四張床也。三爻第一張，四爻第二張，五爻第三張，六爻第四張，初爻第五張，二爻第六張。但直申金空動，即斷此床無子也。干支皆土，一張地榻。干支皆木，八面深床。水火同爻，床蓆端正。乾金支水，房屋滲漏也。

The third line holds a wood line, with a hidden wood line beneath it, and another wood line emerging through transformation. Or if the year, month, day, and hour all contain wood elements coming to generate and harmonise with it, there will be three or four beds in the room. The order of the beds is: the third line counts as the first bed, the fourth line as the second, the fifth line as the third, the sixth line as the fourth, the first line as the fifth, and the second line as the sixth. If the line is exactly at the point of the metal element falling into emptiness and becoming active, then it is judged that no son will be born from this bed. If both the heavenly stem and earthly branch belong to the earth element, it is a single mat on the ground. If both the heavenly stem and earthly branch belong to the wood element, it is a deep bed surrounded on all sides. If water and fire are in the same line, the bed is straight and properly arranged. If the heavenly stem is metal and the earthly branch is water, the house leaks.

金金無水，東有刀斧，南有大缸古甕，舊書堆積也。木木無金，東有古桶作怪，壁上有大鹿角，空則無物掛也。火火無水，床廳床足燒損。春夏災苦，東西宜移，更有高閣床，宜鋪舊處也。水水無火，主陰人胎產淋帶咳嗽腹症，小兒臍大，男子瘋熱，目染飛絲也。土土無木，乃親舍之床，主克妻害子，腹脹足爛，不聚財也。

When there are two metal lines without water, there are axes and saws to the east, large ancient jars to the south, and piles of old books. When there are two wood lines without metal, there are old wooden buckets causing trouble to the east, and large deer antlers hanging on the wall; if it is empty, there is nothing on the wall. When there are two fire lines without water, the bed rails and legs are burned, and there will be misfortune in spring and summer; it is advisable to move the bed to the east or west. If there is another bed on a high platform, it is still advisable to keep it in its original place. When there are two water lines without fire, the wife may have pregnancy complications, leukorrhea, coughing, and abdominal diseases, the child may have a swollen navel, the man may suffer from wind-heat, and there may be flying insects and black spots in front of his eyes. When there are two earth lines without wood, this is the bed in the parents' house, which may cause harm to the wife and children, abdominal distension, foot sores, and failure to accumulate wealth.

又三爻木旺，東南方多子，木衰，東北方孤獨也。火旺巳午方多子，火衰正南正北災困孤獨也。金旺，西南多子，金衰西北絕也。水旺，正西正南吉，值子孫動，尤多男也。水衰，正北，東北，東南，孤寡也。土旺，則艱嗣，臨兄動，應繼子孫繩繩也。正東，東南，東北，不宜安床也。

If the third line is strong in wood, placing the bed in the southeast direction will lead to more children; if wood is weak, placing the bed in the northeast will result in loneliness. If fire is strong, placing the bed in the directions of Si and Wu will lead to more children; if fire is weak, placing the bed in the directions of due south and due north will bring disaster, hardship, and loneliness. If metal is strong, placing the bed in the southwest direction will lead to more children; if metal is weak, placing the bed in the northwest direction will result in no descendants. If water is strong, placing the bed in the directions of due west and due south is favorable; if water is also accompanied by the movement of children, it will especially lead to more sons. If water is weak, placing the bed in the directions of due north, northeast, and southeast will result in loneliness and isolation. If earth is strong, descendants will be difficult to have; if the line of siblings is activated, one should adopt a child, thus ensuring the continuation of descendants; the directions of due east, southeast, and northeast are all unsuitable for placing the bed.

日辰沖穿三爻，有日月光照床也。日辰刑剋三爻，屏風妖魔聲響也。床爻屬日，東鳴，金西鳴。水北火南，土四隅鳴也。太歲刑沖剋害床，爻陽，則男災，陰則女痗也。如太歲庚午，庚沖甲，午沖子，午刑午，午害丑，則屬人鼠牛馬命人受傷也。餘仿此（天干甲庚沖，乙辛沖，丙壬沖，丁癸沖。）又都太歲合床，（謂戊己土）其年家破人亡也（巳上雜見管公口訣）。

If the day branch conflicts with the third line, there is bright light from the sun and moon shining on the bed. If the day branch harms the third line, there is a strange sound coming from the screen. If the third line belongs to wood, the sound comes from the east; if it belongs to metal, the sound comes from the west; if it belongs to water, the sound comes from the north; if it belongs to fire, the sound comes from the south; if it belongs to earth, the sound comes from all four corners. If the year stem conflicts, clashes, harms or is harmful to the bed line, then if the line is yang, a man will suffer misfortune; if the line is yin, a woman will be ill. For example, if the year stem is Gengwu, Geng conflicts with Jia, Wu conflicts with Zi, Wu harms Wu, and Wu is harmful to Chou. Therefore, those corresponding to these branches, as well as those born in the year of the rat, ox or horse, will suffer injury. The rest should be understood in the same way. Conflicts between heavenly stems are Jia and Geng, Yi and Xin, Bing and Ren, Ding and Gui. If the year stem harmonizes with the bed line, which is Wu and Ji earth, then the family will break up and people will die that year. The above is taken from "Guan Gong's Secret Formula."

三爻逢生，新床。逢旺，好床。沐浴，是破床，或其人裸淫縱也。衰是接腳床，病有病人，死曾死人。陽男，陰女。墓則下有伏尸，或有墳磚插床。空在陽爻，刑破柱礎插床腳。在金財爻，則有金銀珍寶埋床下也。絕是絕戶人家床。胎有懷胎婦。養當產育時也（長生訣於日辰取之）。

The third line encountering the growth sign indicates a new bed; encountering the prosperity sign indicates a good bed; encountering the bathing sign indicates a broken bed, or that the owner is indulgent and licentious. Encountering decline indicates a bed that has been extended or added to; encountering illness indicates there is a sick person in bed; encountering death indicates that someone has died in the bed, with a yang line representing a male and a yin line representing a female. Encountering burial indicates there is a hidden corpse beneath the bed, or that there are tomb bricks under the bed. If it falls into an empty position on a yang line, it indicates that the bed legs are supported by pillars that have been broken or damaged; if it falls into an empty position on the metal line representing wealth, it indicates that there are buried gold and silver treasures beneath the bed. Encountering the critical point indicates a bed in a family without descendants; encountering the fetal sign indicates there is a pregnant woman in the family; encountering the nurturing sign indicates that childbirth is about to occur. All these principles of the growth cycle must be determined based on the day branch.

龍喜持三爻動，主孕育坐喜也。福值長生，多孫子也。三旺初空，無踏腳也。三旺四空，無帳架也。四爻父空，無帳幔也。六木沖三，房有橫木也。六火合三，房有天窗也。五沖三，房門對路也。三沖二，房灶相對也。三合二，灶在房內也。三持父，房在正堂。三持鬼，房在廳。三持財，房近灶。三持福，房在廊廡。三持兄，房近廁也。

The third line is occupied by the Azure Dragon and Heavenly Joy, indicating joy from pregnancy and childbirth; if the children are in the state of growth, there will be many children. If the third line is strong and the first line is empty, there is no footrest by the bed; if the third line is strong and the fourth line is empty, there is no bed frame. If the sixth line's wood element conflicts with the third line, there is a crossbeam inside the room; if the sixth line's fire element combines with the third line, there is a sky window on the roof. If the fifth line conflicts with the third line, the bedroom door faces the road; if the third line conflicts with the second line, the bedroom is opposite the kitchen; if the third line combines with the second line, the kitchen is inside the bedroom. If the third line holds the parents, the bedroom is in the main hall; if it holds the official ghost, the bedroom is in the hall; if it holds the wealth, the bedroom is near the kitchen; if it holds the children, the bedroom is in the corridor; if it holds the siblings, the bedroom is near the toilet.

三動合陰爻，床背鋪也。三持旺木火父，加龍德來生合者，花床也。三持財伏財，化財，或干支二財，四直財來生合者，俱多妾媵也。木動床腳蹺。木被刑沖，床框損。金加大殺動，床框釘鉡。光影殺臨三爻動，床有怪異。加蛇，有蛇怪。加戌，犬上床也。蛇臨三爻動，床有繩縛。加鬼殺，床多怪夢。天干金，夜有呻吟之聲。地支金，夜有爆裂之聲。由匠人魘鬼也。

The third line is activated and combines with a yin line, indicating the bed is placed with its back against the wall. If the third line holds a prosperous and strong wood or fire line representing parents, and is further supported by the Azure Dragon and Heavenly Virtue coming to generate and harmonize with it, then it indicates a carved bed. If the third line holds wealth, with wealth hidden beneath and transformed into wealth, or if there are two layers of wealth in the heavenly stem and earthly branch, or four direct lines of wealth coming to generate and harmonize, it indicates that the person has many concubines. If a wood line is activated, the bed legs are raised; if a wood line is punished or clashed with, the bed frame is damaged. If a metal line is combined with a great sha, there are iron plates nailed on the bed frame. If the shadow and light sha is on the third line, there are strange phenomena on the bed; if combined with the snake, it indicates a snake spirit; if combined with the dog, a dog climbs onto the bed. If the snake is on the third line, there are ropes binding the bed; if combined with official ghosts andInauspicious Sha, the person has strange dreams while sleeping. If the heavenly stem is metal, there is moaning at night; if the earthly branch is metal, there is a sound of explosion at night, which is caused by the craftsman burying objects for a spirit charm.

金蛇動，床頭有鈴鐸聲也。酉金動化水，床頭有酒缸。加雀鬼，必酸酒也。金福旺，房有明鏡。動化火者，鏡昏暗也。金鬼旺，有錫夜壺。旺新休舊，沖則破也。卯木動刑子水，屋有木貓。父臨水受沖，床有破被。木受動刑，有折木梳。三動沖福，房有破窗。艮宮子水動沖三爻，床下有鼠穴凶也。龍鬼帶殺動克三爻，床有產病婦也。雀火鬼持三爻動，有外來床，多生癆瘵也。又凡卦中寅卯帶鬼動，或逢沖動者，主木器廂桶絕戶家來者送災，宜速去，斷之無差也。

When the gold line (Yin) with the snake (Teng Sha) moves, there is a sound of bells at the head of the bed. If the酉 metal line moves and transforms into a water line, there is a wine barrel at the head of the bed; if further combined with the Vermilion Bird (Zhu Que) and Official Ghost (Guan Gui), the wine is definitely sour. If the gold line with the children (Zi Sun) is prosperous and strong, there is a mirror in the room; if it moves and transforms into a fire line, the mirror is dim. If the gold line with the Official Ghost is prosperous and strong, there is a tin night pot in the room; when it is prosperous, it is new, when it is resting, it is old, and when it is confronted, it is broken. If the卯 wood line moves and harms the子 water line, there is a carved wooden cat in the house; if the parents are on the water line and are confronted, there is a broken quilt on the bed; if the wood line is harmed by the moving line, there is a broken wooden comb; if the third line moves and confronts the children, there is a broken window in the room. If the water line in the艮 palace moves and confronts the third line, there is a mouse hole under the bed, indicating bad fortune. If the Azure Dragon (Qing Long) with the Official Ghost, carryingInauspicious Sha, moves and harms the third line, there is a woman who has a childbirth illness in bed; if the Vermilion Bird (Zhu Que) with the fire line Official Ghost holds the third line and moves, this indicates a bed brought from outside, and the person sleeping is likely to suffer from tuberculosis. Furthermore, whenever the寅 or卯 lines with the Official Ghost move, or move when confronted, it indicates that the wooden furniture and boxes in the house were brought from a family that has died out, and will bring misfortune; they should be removed quickly, and this interpretation is never wrong.
