庚金詩曰：庚金頑鈍性偏剛，火制功成怕火鄉。夏產東南遇鍛鍊，秋生西北亦光芒。水深反見他相剋，木旺能令我自傷。戊己干支重遇土，不逢沖破即埋藏。辛金詩曰：辛金珠玉性虛靈，最愛陽和沙水清。成就不勞炎火鍛，滋扶偏愛溼泥生。木多火旺宜西北，水冷金寒要丙丁。坐祿通根身旺地，何愁厚土沒其形。

The poem about Geng metal says: Geng metal is stubborn and dull, with a strong and rigid nature. It needs fire to be tempered into shape, but it also fears being overly immersed in fire. If born in the southeast in summer, it meets the right conditions for tempering; if born in the northwest in autumn, it naturally shines. Too much water will submerge it (metal sinking to the bottom of water), and too much wood will cause it to weaken the wood instead, harming itself. If the heavenly stem and earthly branch are heavily filled with Wu and Ji (earth) without any conflict, the metal will be buried. The poem about Xin metal says: Xin metal is like pearls and jade, with a delicate and subtle nature. It loves gentle yang energy and clear sandy water. It does not need fierce fire to temper it into shape; instead, it prefers moist earth for nourishment. When there is excessive wood and fire, it is suitable to go to the northwest to avoid fire and strengthen itself; when there is cold water and cold metal, it needs Bing and Ding fire to warm it up. As long as it is in its own position and rooted in a strong position, why worry about thick earth burying its form?

壬水詩曰：壬水汪洋並百川，漫流天下總無邊。干支多聚成漂盪，火土重逢傷本原。養性結胎須未午，長生歸祿屬乾坤。身強原自無財祿，西北行程厄少年。癸水詩曰：癸水應為雨露麼，根通亥子即江河。柱無坤坎還身弱，局有財官不尚多。申子辰全成上路，午寅戌備要中和。假饒火土生深夏，西北行程豈太過。

The poem about Ren water says: Ren water is vast and boundless, gathering all rivers and flowing throughout the world without end. In the heavenly stems and earthly branches, too much water gathers and becomes drifting and aimless; encountering heavy fire and earth elements harms its origin. Its growth and nurturing positions are in Wei and Wu, its long life is in Shen (Kun position) and its destiny is in Hai (Qian position). If the body is too strong, it naturally has no wealth or fortune to enjoy; if it goes further to the northwest where metal and water are, it will face difficulties in youth. The poem about Gui water says: Gui water is like rain and dew, but once it roots in Hai or Zi, it becomes a river. If the column lacks Shen (Kun) and Zi (Kan) to support it, the body remains weak; even if there is wealth and official position in the chart, it should not be excessive. If Shen-Zi-Chen triple harmony is complete, it is the best way forward; if the fire triple harmony of Wu, Yin, and Xu is present, it should be balanced. If fire and earth are strong in summer and water dries up, then going to the northwest where metal and water are, would that be too much?
