The following are allInauspicious Spirit, which are referred to as "煞". The "岁前神煞" are calculated starting from the branch of the Tai sui (太岁). For example, in the year of Zi, the branch of Zi is Tai sui, and it is shared with "Jian Feng" and "Fu Shi"; the branch of Chou has "Tai Yang" and "Tian Kong"; the branch of Yin has "Sang Men", which indicates wearing mourning clothes. This is then continued in order, cycling through the branches. The rhyme says: the first position is Tai sui with Jian Feng and Fu Shi in the same palace, the second is Tai Yang and Tian Kong, the third is Sang Men indicating mourning clothes, the fourth is Gou Jiao and Guan Suo, both凶, the fifth is Guan Fu and Wu Gui, the sixth is Si Fu and Xiao Hao, the seventh is Lan Gan and Da Hao, the eighth is Pao Bai and Tian E, the ninth is Fei Lian and Bai Hu, the tenth is Fu De and Juan She accompanying, the eleventh is Tian Gou and Diao Ke, and the twelfth is Bing Fu, which should be avoided. For the "驾后神煞", "Fu Chen" and "Xue Ren" start from the branch of Xu in the year of Zi, moving backwards; "Pi Tou" and "Wu Gui" start from the branch of Chen in the year of Zi, moving backwards; "Tian Ku" starts from the branch of Wu in the year of Zi, moving backwards. The rhyme says: Fu Chen and Xue Ren move around the branch of Xu, Pi Tou and Wu Gui seek the branch of Chen, and Tian Ku moves backwards starting from the branch of Wu. In divination, it is most忌 to have it on the head. The "Tian Ku Sha" is particularly忌 in divination for illness. The rhyme says: crying sounds occur in the first, fifth, and ninth months at the branch of Wei (sheep), in the second, sixth, and tenth months at the branch of Shen (monkey), in the third, seventh, and eleventh months at the branch of You (rooster), and in the fourth, eighth, and twelfth months at the branch of Xu (dog).

"The Heavenly Prison Kill" (天狱杀): It is a major taboo in divination for legal cases and lawsuits. A mnemonic says: in the first, fifth, and ninth months, it is located at the "亥" position; in the second, sixth, and tenth months, it is hidden at "申"; in the third, seventh, and eleventh months, it appears at "巳"; and in the fourth, eighth, and twelfth months, it is at "寅". "The Heavenly Thief" (天贼): It is also a taboo for travel and seeking wealth. A mnemonic says: in the first month, it is at "丑"; in the second month, at "子"; in the third month, at "亥"; in the fourth month, at "戌"; in the fifth month, at "酉"; in the sixth month, at "申"; in the seventh month, at "未"; in the eighth month, at "午"; in the ninth month, at "巳" (snake); in the tenth month, at "辰"; in the eleventh month, at "卯"; and in the twelfth month, at "寅". "Seasonal Heavenly Thief" (四季天贼): The taboos are the same as above. A mnemonic says: in the first month, it is at "辰"; in the second month, at "酉"; in the third month, at "寅" (tiger); in the fourth month, at "未"; in the fifth month, at "子"; in the sixth month, hidden at "巳" (snake); in the seventh month, at "戌" (dog); in the eighth month, at "卯" (rabbit); in the ninth month, at "申"; in the tenth month, at "丑" (ox); in the eleventh month, at "午" (horse); and in the twelfth month, at "亥" (pig). "Seasonal Small Kill" (四季小杀): It is a taboo for illness. A mnemonic says: in spring, avoid "未" (sheep); in summer, avoid "辰" (dragon); in autumn, avoid "丑" (ox); in winter, avoid "戌" (dog), with heavy cries; if it appears in the hexagram and also at the hexagram body or the fate line, even minor calamities will result in misfortune. "The Great Kill Below the Day" (日下大杀): It is a taboo for all matters. A mnemonic says: the Great Kill Below the Day should be carefully analyzed—on the day of Jia or Yi, it is at "亥" (pig); on the day of Bing or Ding, it is at "未" (sheep); on the day of Wu or Ji, it is at "戌" (dog); on the day of Geng or Xin, it is at "寅" (tiger); and on the day of Ren or Gui, it is at "巳" (snake).
天狗殺:凡事忌之。正卯二申三丑鄉,四午五亥六辰藏,七酉八寅九未的,十鼠子巳丑犬防。三丘五墓:占病大忌。春丑夏辰秋即未,三冬逢戌是三丘;卻與五墓對宮取,病人作福也難留。墓門殺:甲乙見金墓門開,丙丁見水哭哀哀,戊己見木須防厄,庚辛見火孝服來,壬癸見土難迴避,病人不死也傷財。喪車殺:喪車春雞夏鼠來,秋兔冬馬好安排;人來占病無他斷,教君作急買棺材。沐浴殺:沐浴殺難當,春辰夏未殃,秋戌冬丑是,發動病人亡。
"The Heavenly Dog Kill": Everything should avoid it. The rhyme says: In the first month, it is in "Mao"; in the second month, "Shen"; in the third month, "Chou"; in the fourth month, "Wu"; in the fifth month, "Hai"; in the sixth month, it is hidden in "Chen"; in the seventh month, "You"; in the eighth month, "Yin"; in the ninth month, "Wei". This is certain; in the tenth month, "Zi" (rat), in the eleventh month, "Si", and in the twelfth month, "Xu" (dog), all should be guarded against. "Three Hills" and "Five Tombs": They are especially dangerous for illness. The rhyme says: In spring, it is in "Chou"; in summer, "Chen"; in autumn, "Wei"; in winter, "Xu". These are the Three Hills; the Five Tombs take the opposite branch, and even if the patient performs rituals to pray for fortune, it is hard to avoid. "Mourning Gate Kill": The rhyme says: On Jia and Yi days, if the metal trigram appears, the mourning gate opens; on Bing and Ding days, if the water trigram appears, there will be wailing cries; on Wu and Ji days, if the wood trigram appears, disaster should be guarded against; on Geng and Xin days, if the fire trigram appears, mourning clothes will come; on Ren and Gui days, if the earth trigram appears, it is hard to avoid. Even if the patient does not die, they will suffer financial loss. "Funeral Cart Kill": The rhyme says: The funeral cart in spring is in "You" (rooster); in summer, "Zi" (rat); in autumn, "Mao" (rabbit); in winter, "Wu" (horse). One should make early arrangements; if someone comes to consult about illness and encounters it, there is no other interpretation, so advise them to buy a coffin as soon as possible. "Bathing Kill": The rhyme says: The Bathing Kill is really difficult to bear— in spring, it is in "Chen"; in summer, "Wei" brings disaster; in autumn, "Xu"; in winter, "Chou". When it activates, the patient will surely die.
關鎖殺:占訟忌之。春關牛與蛇,(丑關,巳鎖。)夏月龍猴嗟,(辰關,申鎖。)秋忌豬羊位,(亥關,未鎖。)冬犬虎交加。(戌關,寅鎖。)劫殺:凡事忌之。申子辰兮蛇開口,亥卯未兮猴速走,寅午戌嫌豬而黑,巳酉丑兮虎哮吼。咸池殺:占婚大忌,主婦人淫亂。寅午戌兔從卯裡出,巳酉丑躍馬南方走,申子辰雞叫亂人倫,亥卯未鼠子當頭忌。鰥寡殺:占姻事忌之。春牛不下田,夏龍飛上天,秋羊草枯死,冬犬厭殘年。孤辰寡宿:婚姻犯之,主無子。亥子丑兮忌寅戌,寅卯辰兮巳丑尋,巳午未兮申辰忌,申酉戌兮亥未臨。陰殺:生產忌之。正七寅兮二八辰,三九馬頭四十申,五十一逢犬伴立,六十二月鼠為鄰。
"Guansuo Sha" (Lock and Seal): It is unfavorable in divination for lawsuits. The rhyme says: In spring, the "Guansuo" are "Chou" (Ox) and "Si" (Snake) — "Chou" is the lock, "Si" is the seal; in summer, the lamentable "Guansuo" are "Chen" (Dragon) and "Shen" (Monkey) — "Chen" is the lock, "Shen" is the seal; in autumn, the forbidden "Guansuo" are "Hai" (Pig) and "Wei" (Goat) — "Hai" is the lock, "Wei" is the seal; in winter, the "Guansuo" are "Xu" (Dog) and "Yin" (Tiger) — "Xu" is the lock, "Yin" is the seal. "Jie Sha" (Plundering Death): It is unfavorable for all matters. The rhyme says: The "Shen," "Zi," and "Chen" trinity is in "Si" (Snake's mouth); the "Hai," "Mao," and "Wei" trinity is in "Shen" (Monkey's quick escape); the "Yin," "Wu," and "Xu" trinity is to be wary of "Hai" (Black Pig); the "Si," "You," and "Chou" trinity is in "Yin" (Tiger's roar). "Xianchi Sha" (Salty Pool Death): It is a major taboo in divination for marriage, indicating a woman's licentiousness. The rhyme says: The "Yin," "Wu," and "Xu" trinity, the rabbit comes out from "Mao"; the "Si," "You," and "Chou" trinity, the horse runs toward the south at "Wu"; the "Shen," "Zi," and "Chen" trinity, the chicken crows at "You" and disrupts human relationships; the "Hai," "Mao," and "Wei" trinity, the rat is at "Zi," which should be avoided. "Guan Gu Sha" (Widow and Widower Death): It is unfavorable in divination for marriage matters. The rhyme says: In spring, "Chou" (Ox) does not till the fields; in summer, "Chen" (Dragon) flies to the sky; in autumn, "Wei" (Goat) meets withered grass and dies; in winter, "Xu" (Dog) is tired of the remaining year. "Guan Chen" and "Guo Su" (Lonely Star and Widower's Host): If marriage is afflicted by them, it indicates no descendants. The rhyme says: In the years of "Hai," "Zi," and "Chou," beware of "Yin" and "Xu"; in the years of "Yin," "Mao," and "Chen," look for "Si" and "Chou"; in the years of "Si," "Wu," and "Wei," beware of "Shen" and "Chen"; in the years of "Shen," "You," and "Xu," face "Hai" and "Wei." "Yin Sha" (Shadow Death): It is unfavorable in divination for childbirth. The rhyme says: In January and July, it is at "Yin"; in February and August, it is at "Chen"; in March and September, it is at "Wu" (Horse's head); in April and October, it is at "Shen"; in May and November, it is at "Xu" (Dog) as a companion; in June and December, it is at "Zi" (Mouse) as a neighbor.

"The Door of Punishment and Official Symbol": The verse says: In January and July, it is in "寅" (Tiger); in February and August, it is in "子" (Rat); in March and September, it is in "戌" position; in April and October, it is in "申" (Monkey) where it moves around; in May and November, it is in "午" (Horse) where it rides; in June and December, it is in "辰" (Dragon Gate). "Gou Chen Kill": Start from "辰" for January, and count backwards in order; it is a major忌 in divination for illness and legal matters. The verse says: January "辰", February "卯", March "寅", April "丑", May "子", June "亥", July "戌", August "酉", September "申", October "未" (Sheep), November "午" (Horse), December "巳" (Snake). "White Tiger Kill": Start from "申" and count forward in order; it is a major忌 in divination for illness. The verse says: January "申", February "酉", March "戌", April "亥", May "子", June "丑", July "寅", August "卯", September "辰", October "巳", November "午" (Horse), December "未" (Sheep). "Death": Anything is忌 when it appears. The verse says: January "戌", February "辰", March "亥" is death, April "巳", May "子", June "午" position, July "丑", August "未", September "寅", October "申", November "卯", December meets "酉". "Three Punishments": It indicates mutual punishment and harm among the Six Relations, which is extremely凶. The verse says: "寅" is punished by "巳", "巳" is punished by "申"; "丑" and "戌" are punished by each other; "未" and "丑" are punished by each other; "子" is punished by "卯", "卯" is punished by "子"; "辰", "午", "酉", and "亥" each are punished by their own branches. "Six Harm": Mutual harm among the Six Relations, leading to failure in all affairs. The verse says: Among the Six Harm, "子" and "未" cannot be close; "丑" harms "午", "寅" and "巳" are troublesome to each other; "卯" harms "辰", "申" harms "亥", "酉" and "戌" meet and the harm is even deeper.
四刑:如寅世巳應之類是也。寅申巳亥為四刑,所作百事無一成;婚姻官事俱不吉,縱得相生也不寧。四沖:辰戌丑未為四沖,縱然占吉也為凶;或是相生或兄弟,也須被破事無終。四極:子午卯酉為四極,凡占百事皆無益;雖然世應得相生,決定多凶主少吉。六沖:子午相沖,丑未相沖,寅申相沖,卯酉相沖,辰戌相沖,巳亥相沖。
The "Four Crimes" (四刑): For example, if the World Line is in "Yin" and the Response Line is in "Si," this is considered Four Crimes. The rhyme says: When "Yin," "Shen," "Si," and "Hai" are all present, it is called Four Crimes. Whatever one does, nothing succeeds; marriage and lawsuits are not auspicious. Even if the World and Response Lines are mutually generating, there will be no peace. The "Four Conflicts" (四冲): The rhyme says: When "Chen," "Xu," "Chou," and "Wei" are all present, it is called Four Conflicts. Even if a favorable omen is obtained, it turns into misfortune. Even if they are mutually generating or both are "Siblings" lines, they will still be broken apart, and matters will have a beginning but no end. The "Four Extremes" (四极): The rhyme says: When "Zi," "Wu," "Mao," and "You" are all present, it is called Four Extremes. Whatever one divines, there is no benefit; even if the World and Response Lines are mutually generating, it will definitely result in more misfortune than good fortune. The "Six Conflicts" (六冲): "Zi" conflicts with "Wu," "Chou" conflicts with "Wei," "Yin" conflicts with "Shen," "Mao" conflicts with "You," "Chen" conflicts with "Xu," and "Si" conflicts with "Hai."
隔神:占失物忌爻。正七從亥二八酉,三九羊頭四十蛇,五十一月尋卯上,六十二午定吁嗟。大耗:田蠶六畜,大忌發動。正申二酉三戌邊,四亥五子六牛聯,七寅八卯九辰位,十巳子馬丑羊眠。小耗:遇此發動,損害田禾。正未二申三月酉,四戌五亥六子游,七丑八寅九卯上,十辰一巳丑午牛。破碎殺:子午卯酉在蛇頭,辰戌丑未屬於牛,寅申巳亥雞頭碎,破耗資財件件憂。
"The Isolated God": When divining about lost items, it is considered an inauspicious line. The verse says: In the first and seventh months, start from "Hai"; in the second and eighth months, it is "You"; in the third and ninth months, it is "Wei" (sheep's head); in the fourth and tenth months, it is "Si" (snake); in the fifth and eleventh months, seek it on "Mao"; in the sixth and twelfth months, it is "Wu". One must sigh deeply. "Great Loss": When divining about fields, livestock, and crops, it is highly inauspicious if it is activated. The verse says: In the first month, it is "Shen"; in the second month, "You"; in the third month, "Xu"; in the fourth month, "Hai"; in the fifth month, "Zi"; in the sixth month, "Chou" (cow); in the seventh month, "Yin"; in the eighth month, "Mao"; in the ninth month, "Chen"; in the tenth month, "Si"; in the eleventh month, "Wu" (horse); in the twelfth month, "Wei" (sheep) rests. "Minor Loss": When it is activated, it damages the crops in the fields. The verse says: In the first month, it is "Wei"; in the second month, "Shen"; in the third month, "You"; in the fourth month, "Xu"; in the fifth month, "Si"; in the sixth month, it moves along "Zi"; in the seventh month, "Chou"; in the eighth month, "Yin"; in the ninth month, "Mao"; in the tenth month, "Chen"; in the eleventh month, "Si"; in the twelfth month, "Wu" (the position of cattle and horses). "Broken Death": The verse says: In the years of "Zi", "Wu", "Mao", and "You", it is located at "Si" (snake's head); in the years of "Chen", "Xu", "Chou", and "Wei", it belongs to "Chou" (cow); in the years of "Yin", "Shen", "Si", and "Hai", it is at "You" (chicken's head) where it breaks, causing loss and damage to wealth and property.
旌旗殺:春卯夏子,秋酉冬午,占病遇動,不期即死。暴敗殺:婚姻大忌,男克婦,女傷夫。豬羊犬吠春三月,蛇鼠龍憂夏月當,申酉丑逢秋必敗,虎馬兔兮冬季防。六甲空亡:用爻惡空,忌爻喜空。甲子旬中戌亥空,甲戌旬中申酉空,甲申旬中午未空,甲午旬中辰巳空,甲辰旬中寅卯空,甲寅旬中子丑空。截路空亡:出行大忌。甲己申酉最為愁,乙庚午未不須求,丙辛辰巳君休去,丁壬寅卯一場憂,戊癸子丑高堂坐,時犯空亡萬事休。
"The 'Banner and Flag Death'": In spring it is in 'Mao', in summer in 'Zi', in autumn in 'You', and in winter in 'Wu'; if this is encountered in a divination about illness, death will occur without waiting for the appointed time. "The Sudden Collapse Death": This is a major inauspicious sign for marriage, indicating that the man will harm his wife and the woman will harm her husband. The song says: In the first three months of spring, one should avoid 'Hai' (pig), 'Wei' (sheep), and 'Xu' (dog); in summer, avoid 'Si' (snake), 'Zi' (rat), and 'Chen' (dragon); in autumn, encountering 'Shen', 'You', and 'Chou' will surely lead to failure; in winter, one must be cautious of 'Yin' (tiger), 'Wu' (horse), and 'Mao' (rabbit). "The Six Jia Void": The yao of the useful god dislikes falling into void, while the yao of the hostile god prefers to fall into void. The song says: In the Jiazi ten-day period, 'Xu' and 'Hai' are void; in the Jiaxu ten-day period, 'Shen' and 'You' are void; in the Jiashen ten-day period, 'Wu' and 'Wei' are void; in the Jiawu ten-day period, 'Chen' and 'Si' are void; in the Jiachen ten-day period, 'Yin' and 'Mao' are void; in the Jiayin ten-day period, 'Zi' and 'Chou' are void. "The Intercepting Road Void": This is a major inauspicious sign for travel. The song says: On days of Jia and Ji, 'Shen' and 'You' cause the greatest worry; on days of Yi and Geng, 'Wu' and 'Wei' should not be sought; on days of Bing and Xin, 'Chen' and 'Si' should not be traveled; on days of Ding and Ren, 'Yin' and 'Mao' bring sorrow; on days of Wu and Gui, 'Zi' and 'Chou' mean staying quietly at home; if the hour falls into void, all matters come to an end.
馬前神殺:十二神各有所用。如占出行及行人,專看驛馬之類。申子辰馬居寅(寅上起驛馬,卯六害,順輪為例。)寅午戌馬居申,巳酉丑馬在亥,亥卯未馬在巳。一驛馬,二六害,三華蓋,四劫殺,五災殺,六天殺,七地殺,八年殺,九月殺,十亡神,十一將星,十二攀鞍。四利三元:年上起。如午年,即午上起太歲,掌輪為便。一太歲,二太陽,三喪門,四太陰,五官符,六死符,七歲破,八龍德,九白虎,十褔德,十一吊客,十二病符。
The "Spiritual Killers Before the Horse" refer to twelve spirits each with their own uses. For instance, when divining about travel or the whereabouts of a person, one should specifically look at the "Post Horse." The method is as follows: in the "Shen, Zi, Chen" trine, the Post Horse is at "Yin"; start the Post Horse at Yin, then "Mao" is the Sixth Harm, and continue in this order. In the "Yin, Wu, Xu" trine, the Post Horse is at "Shen"; in the "Si, You, Chou" trine, the Post Horse is at "Hai"; in the "Hai, Mao, Wei" trine, the Post Horse is at "Si." The order is: first the Post Horse, second the Sixth Harm, third the Celestial Cover, fourth the劫 Kill, fifth the Disaster Kill, sixth the Heaven Kill, seventh the Earth Kill, eighth the Year Kill, ninth the Month Kill, tenth the Lost Spirit, eleventh the General Star, and twelfth the Tethered Horse. "The Four Benefits and Three Elements" start from the branch of the year. For example, in the year of Wu, start the "Too Old" at Wu. Using the palm to rotate through them is most convenient. The order is: first the Too Old, second the Sun, third the Wailing Gate, fourth the Too Young, fifth the Official Symbol, sixth the Death Symbol, seventh the Year Break, eighth the Dragon Grace, ninth the White Tiger, tenth the Fortune Virtue, eleventh the Guest, and twelfth the Disease Symbol.
長生沐浴:長生,沐浴,冠帶,臨官,帝旺,衰,病,死,墓,絕,胎,養。假如火長生在寅,從寅上起長生,卯沐浴,辰冠帶,依次順行。木長生在亥,從亥起。其餘可類推。三合成局:寅午戌,合成火局;申子辰,合成水局;巳酉丑,合成金局;亥卯未,合成木局。天干合:甲與己合,乙與庚合,丙與辛合,丁與壬合,戊與癸合。地支合:子與丑合,寅與亥合,卯與戌合,辰與酉合,巳與申合,午與未合。
The "Longevity and Bathing" (长生沐浴) consists of twelve stages in sequence: Longevity (长生), Bathing (沐浴), Capping (冠带), Officialdom (临官), Prosperity (帝旺), Decline (衰), Sickness (病), Death (死), Burial (墓), Extinction (绝), Fetus (胎), and Nurturing (养). For example, the Longevity of fire (火) is at "寅" (Yin), so the sequence starts from "寅" with Longevity, "卯" (Mao) is Bathing, "辰" (Chen) is Capping, and proceeds in order. The Longevity of wood (木) is at "亥" (Hai), so the sequence starts from "亥". The same method applies to the other five elements (五行). The "Triple Harmony" (三合) forms a set of three: "寅" (Yin), "午" (Wu), and "戌" (Xu) form the Fire (火) set; "申" (Shen), "子" (Zi), and "辰" (Chen) form the Water (水) set; "巳" (Si), "酉" (You), and "丑" (Chou) form the Metal (金) set; "亥" (Hai), "卯" (Mao), and "未" (Wei) form the Wood (木) set.
