The mansion of Zhang Xu is called "Respected Star" in the heavens. This mansion has six stars, located in the constellation of the Lion, and corresponds to the territory of the Zhou state in the three rivers region on earth. It is a mountain animal, which is the deer. The "Zi Tong" says: the deer is alert and cautious, standing with their backs to each other when feeding to guard against danger; it is also an animal very good at running, calling its companions when it finds food, and when living in groups, they form a circle with their horns facing outward ("group living" the character is missing in the original text, it should be "group"). It goes out during the day and hides at night, preferring gentle winds and warm sunlight. On the first day of the first cycle, which is the day of Jimao, it is the general star, and it is auspicious when using the four metals.

Next comes the fire snake.
The celestial animal of the following day is known in the heavens as the "Eight Strange Stars." This constellation has twenty-one stars and is located in the constellation of the Twins (the Virgo constellation), corresponding to the region of Jingzhou and the state of Chu on earth. It is a terrestrial animal, which is the snake. It resides in underground holes, has a poisonous nature, an evil tongue, and a fierce spirit; when it becomes a spirit after old age, it can summon clouds and create mist. Cows listen with their noses, and snakes listen with their eyes—so snakes are deaf and tigers have blocked noses, which is probably the meaning. The "Record" says: dragons have dragon pearls, snakes have snake pearls, both are pearls spat out from the mouths of dragons and snakes. It prefers strong winds and heavy rains. On the fifth heavenly stem and earthly branch day, which is Jiazi day, the general star is present, and it is auspicious when using the four wooden elements.

The Huagai is in the Xun direction, and the General Star is in Si. It is strong in spring and summer, and hidden in autumn and winter. When it falls in Shen position, it is called "Withered Bamboo Swaying Wind"; when it falls in Zi position, it is called "Taking the Square to Make a Circle"; when it falls in Chen position, it is called "Fish Leaping over the Dragon Gate".
Zhen Water Worm
The celestial mansion of Zhěn is called "Heavenly Toxin Star" in the sky. This mansion has seven stars and is located in the Double Female constellation, corresponding to the region of Jingzhou and the state of Chu on earth. It is a terrestrial animal, which is the earthworm. Ancient legends say that fish have no ears, cicadas have no mouths, snakes have no feet, and earthworms have no sinews, making them heartless creatures. They are said to mate with a type of locust called Fazhong. Those with white necks are the old ones among them. These creatures move constantly, first curling up and then stretching out. The book "Mencius:滕 Wen Gong Lower" says that someone like Chen Zhongzi would have to become an earthworm to fully practice his principles. Earthworms belong to the planet Mercury. During long droughts without rain, when earthworms come out of the ground and coil on the sand, rain will soon arrive. They prefer unsettled weather with alternating sunshine and clouds. On the first day of the first cycle, Jiyou, which is the day of the general star, it is auspicious when using the four metals.

The Huagai is in the Xun direction, and the General Star is in the Shen. It is strong in spring and summer, but weakens in autumn and winter. When it falls in the Si position, it is called 'Riding a Chariot and Chasing a Horse'; when it falls in the You position, it is called 'Treasure Chariot Without Wheels'; when it falls in the Chou position, it is called 'Chariot with Flying Wheels'.
Birds and the Eight Doors: Examples and What They Govern in Terms of Auspiciousness and Adverse Conditions
Using the seven luminaries and the禽stars to arrange the eight gates, the four gates 「Respect」「Injury」「Emperor」「Prosperity」 and the four gates 「Birth」「Death」「Decline」「Rest」 rotate together in sequence; the starting point is determined at the long life position of the luminaries, and the sequence proceeds in a clockwise manner. The rhyme says 「On the day there is a chicken, on the month there is a rabbit」, meaning that the day ruled by the sun is marked by a chicken (the Rooster of the昴 cluster), and the day ruled by the moon is marked by a rabbit (the Room mansion). The planet Mars is located at the Gen position (the original text says 「earth」, which should be a mistake for 「Gen」), the planet Saturn and the planet Water are located at the Kun position; the planet Jupiter enters the Qian direction, and the planet Metal is located at the Xun and Si positions. Within the nine palaces, the sequence starts from the 「Respect」 gate.
When the Sun is in charge of the hour, the "Respect" gate is established in the Dui trigram (Due West). When the Moon is in charge of the hour, the "Respect" gate is established in the Zhen trigram (Due East). When the Mars is in charge of the hour, the "Respect" gate is established in the Gen trigram (Northeast). When the Earth Star and Water Star are in charge of the hour, the "Respect" gate is established in the Kun trigram (Southwest). When the Jupiter is in charge of the hour, the "Respect" gate is established in the Qian trigram (Northwest). After the starting point is determined, the gates are then arranged in the order of Respect, Injury, Emperor, Blessing, Life, Death, Decline, and Rest, proceeding sequentially through the nine trigrams of the Eight Trigrams.
Animals and the Eight Gates of Auspicious and Inauspicious Influences
The method of arranging the eight gates and the禽宿 is known to very few people: usually, the position of growth is taken as the starting point to deduce the rest, placing the 'Respect' star on the growth or death position, then following the nine palaces and eight trigrams to move according to the time. The main commander most fears the 'Injury' gate, and using troops is most afraid of the 'Death' gate; falling into the 'Defeat' gate or 'Rest' gate can result in losing office or being dismissed, which is not uncommon. Only the four gates of 'Prosperity', 'Growth', 'Respect', and 'Emperor' are considered auspicious positions; whatever one does under these four gates can be carried out freely.
The Hidden Metal Harmful Influence of the Four Seasons
When the "Ji Shui Bao" star is active during spring, calamity occurs; during summer, encountering "Zhen Shui Yun" leads to injury; in autumn, "Can Shui Yuan" should be avoided as it is particularly harmful; and in the twelfth lunar month, facing "Bi Shui Yu" directly is dangerous. These four are all water birds, each representing a hidden metal calamity for a specific season, and one should avoid them when possible.
Seven Hidden Dark Metal Malefics
The first of the seven prohibitions is "Ghost Metal Sheep," the second is "Room Mansion Rabbit," the third is "Star Mansion Horse," the fourth is "Xu Mansion Rat," the fifth is "Next Day Fire Snake," the sixth is "Zi Fire Monkey," and the seventh is in the position of the dragon's head, with the earth of the辰 (Chen) as the standard. This is the order in which the Golden God Seven Evils move through the seven elements. Any affairs should be avoided when these are encountered.
Seven Elements Great Defeat Maleficent Influence
The first element's Great Defeat is the Chariot mansion, the second element is the Root mansion, the third is the Encampment mansion, the fourth is the Emptiness mansion; encountering any of these is highly inauspicious. The fifth element is the Ghost mansion, the sixth is the Wall mansion, the seventh is the Extended Net mansion—these are all凶曜 (malevolent stars), and if they occur, one should avoid taking action.
The star of the wild fowl enters the bright star.
Among the celestial stars in the heavens, the category of Taibai is the most dangerous. Whenever there are actions, plans, or the use of time, one must carefully investigate and clarify: the stars "Kui Wood Wolf," "Lou Metal Dog," "Jiao Wood Dragon," and "Kang Metal Dragon" must be avoided, as encountering them brings certain death (the missing character in the original text should be "必," meaning "certainly"). The stars "Dou Wood Crab," "Nu Earth Bat," "Gui Metal Sheep," and "Niu Metal Ox" also fall under Taibai. Although they may not directly conflict or offend, one should still be cautious. If one can recognize and avoid these star evils, what disaster can befall the family or the state?
Day of the Sun and Hour of the Evil Influence
On Jia and Yi days, one should not encounter the Star Mansion; on Bing and Ding days, one must avoid the Ghost Metal Sheep; on Wu and Ji days, one should be cautious of the Bond Mansion moving about; on Geng and Xin days, if one meets the Wei Moon Swallow, how can one escape (the missing character in the original text is likely "fame" or "should")? On Ren and Gui days, one must be careful of the snake (next Fire Snake) emerging from its hole. If these great evils appear in the hour, one will not be able to return home. This rule follows the day stem to avoid forbidden mansions, and when choosing the hour, one should first avoid these evils.
Mutual injury and bleeding
The method of calculating the "Interfering Injury and Bleeding Malevolent Spirit" is as follows: starting from the Wu position (Horse) in the first month, then moving counterclockwise to the Si position (Snake) for the second month, and continuing counterclockwise to the Chen position for the third month. The fourth month begins at the Mao position (Rabbit), the fifth at the Yin position (Tiger), the sixth at the Chou position (Ox). The seventh month starts at the Zi position (Rat), the eighth at the Hai position (Pig), the ninth at the Xu position (Dog); the tenth month begins at the You position (Rooster), the eleventh at the Shen position (Monkey), and the twelfth at the Wei position (Sheep). This means starting from Wu in the first month and moving counterclockwise by one position each month. After determining the monthly position, one then searches for the hour and day branch within that position, moving clockwise to carefully examine. If it falls on the Zi, Wu, Mao, or You positions, it indicates the "Interfering Injury and Bleeding Malevolent Spirit," which must be avoided.
The Nobleman of the Captive Star
The method of determining the "Qin Star Nobleman" is as follows: the Sun (day禽) is taken at the hour of Wu, the Moon (month禽) is taken at the hour of Yin; the Fire禽 is at the hour of Si, the Water禽 is at the hour of Shen; the Metal禽 is at the hour of Chen, the Wood禽 is at the hour of Wei, and the Earth Star is at the hour of Mao. Following these hours will bring the true Nobleman. If these hours are used for appointing generals or granting ministerial positions, all affairs will be smooth, and blessings and honors will come together. This is the "Six Harmony Nobleman" within the Qin Star system. If a practitioner thoroughly understands and masters this, they will be able to use it as if communicating with the divine.
Zhang Zifang said: The twenty-eight star generals of the heavens should be carefully sought within the twelve palaces; if one can understand their rules, he will surely be able to command the military and protect the people. Kong Yi said: The hour is like the Son of Heaven, and the day branch is like the officials. When taking action, one must carefully observe; one should merely place the hour animal upon the day branch's position and arrange it, never allowing it to fall into the position of suppression.
It is also said that if one's daily animal is already strong, one should further take a strong time animal; if the time animal is not strong, one should choose another direction. When judging strength and weakness, the key is to compare the time animal with the daily host. Once the calculation is accurate, one person can stand against a thousand. Zhuge Kongming said: in a single day, one star is in charge; if one's side can swallow the opponent's formation, one should act quickly; if adding it in does not overpower the opponent, one should stop advancing; when one can contain the opponent, one will achieve victory in every battle.
The Four Unknowing Stars (Combined with Concealment to Capture, Stealing the Camp and Raids)
When the day is Jiazi, the position of the general star is at Xu, which is "Heaven does not know," at Hai, which is "Earth does not know," at Chen, which is "Man does not know," and at Si, which is "Ghost does not know." When the day is Jimao, the position of the general star is at Chou, which is "Heaven does not know," at Yin, which is "Earth does not know," at Wei, which is "Man does not know," and at Shen, which is "Ghost does not know." The term "Four Unknowns" refers to positions where Heaven, Earth, Man, and Ghost are all unaware. By combining these with Dun Jia to obtain auspicious birds, one can effectively launch surprise attacks on the enemy's camp and seize their stronghold.
When the day is Jiawu and the general star is in action, the position of Chen is "Heaven does not know," the position of Si is "Earth does not know," the position of Xu is "Human does not know," and the position of Hai is "Ghost does not know." When the day is Jiyou and the general star is in action, the position of Wei is "Heaven does not know," the position of Shen is "Earth does not know," the position of Chou is "Human does not know," and the position of Yin is "Ghost does not know." Each of the four general stars is paired with four positions of "not knowing," totaling sixteen positions. When using troops for ambush, refer to the general star of the day to determine the appropriate positions.
Heaven's eye, Earth's ear
The divination here concerns the day for launching an attack. Most important is that the heavenly stem and earthly branch of the day should be mutually generating or belong to the same Five Phases, which would be auspicious. "Tian Mu" refers to the direction one is looking towards, while "Di Er" refers to the direction one is listening to. When launching an attack, one must avoid these two directions to prevent one's movements from being observed or heard.
In the Jiazi week, the heavenly eye is at Wu and the earthly ear is at Chen; in the Jiaxu week, the heavenly eye is at Chen and the earthly ear is at Yin; in the Jiashen week, the heavenly eye is at Yin and the earthly ear is at Zi; in the Jiawu week, the heavenly eye is at Zi and the earthly ear is at Xu; in the Jiachen week, the heavenly eye is at Xu and the earthly ear is at Shen; in the Jiayin week, the heavenly eye is at Shen and the earthly ear is at Wu. In each of the six Jia weeks, the heavenly eye and earthly ear both retreat two positions. The earthly ear is always two chens behind the heavenly eye.
Crossing the sky and cutting off (discussing birds)
The method of cross-sky division and monthly matching with animals: In the first month, rabbits, horses, and dogs should not be together; in the second month, mice, some bird, and dragons should not enter the imperial state together (the character in the original text is missing, and the missing character is a bird name); in the third month, horses should not meet sheep and some bird; in the fourth month, rabbits, monkeys, mice, and some bird should not all make noises together; in the fifth month, sheep, snakes, and monkeys should not meet; in the sixth month, tigers meeting sheep and horses are also in sorrow; in the seventh month, some bird, monkeys, mice, and oxen should not be together; in the eighth month, swallows, dogs, tigers (tail), and horses (star) should not be in sorrow together; in the ninth month,昴 (a type of chicken) and娄 (a type of dog) should not meet and also involve rabbits; in the tenth month, dragons, snakes, dogs, some bird, and monkeys should not meet; in the eleventh month, snakes, sheep, some bird, and mice should not run together; in the twelfth month, dragons, sheep, some bird, and rabbits should not be at the forefront. In this passage, all the missing characters marked with 「□」 are missing bird names, and they are not guessed or filled in.
遠遊用此日,漂泊無消息;任官用此日,風波起不測; 行兵用此日,萬里皆流血;埋葬用此日,人亡並死絕;
Using such a day for a long journey or traveling will result in being stranded abroad with no news; using such a day for taking up an official post will lead to sudden storms and unpredictable misfortunes; using such a day for going to war will cause bloodshed across ten thousand miles; using such a day for burial will result in the death of the person and the family's complete ruin.
Marriage and union on such days will result in either separation or death; business and trade on such days will cause both capital and profit to be lost entirely; sowing and farming on such days will result in all crops being completely eaten by rats and birds; construction and building on such days will bring continuous crying in the household. The above eight points describe the consequences of encountering the day of transgression known as the day of crossing the sky and breaking the connection.
Heavenly Shadow Day (Avoid repairs, setting up camps, and starting construction)
On days corresponding to the lunar months, when the heavenly stems and earthly branches align with certain animals, there are ominous signs. In the first, fifth, and ninth lunar months, encountering the tiger is most difficult to resist; in the second, sixth, and tenth lunar months, chickens and sheep are seen at the place of a collapsed wall (the missing character in 「□羊」should be 「鸡」); in the third, seventh, and eleventh lunar months, evil snakes fight with certain animals; in the fourth, eighth, and twelfth lunar months, monkeys climb trees to hide. If fortifications or camps are built on these days, it is not auspicious; even if enemies do not come, one will become anxious and frightened beforehand.
Ten Evils Great Defeat Day
The ten great evils and disastrous days are: Jiachen, Yisi, and Renshen, Bingshen, Dinghai, and Gengchen, Wuxu, Guihai, and Xinsi, Jichou, as well as Bingzi, Jihai, and Dingchou. If any plans or actions are taken on these days, one must be extremely cautious to protect oneself. Especially for appointing a general or launching a military campaign, these days are particularly inauspicious. Using such days may result in turning accumulated wealth of gold and silver into dust.
The Secret of Divining by Animals
When studying the art of divination through bird omens, one should do so during the day rather than at night. If it is unavoidable to perform at night, one should first burn incense. Whenever someone comes to seek divination, they must first wash their hands thoroughly before proceeding to examine the palms. The predictions made in this way will always come true. This passage discusses the proper attitude of the diviner in handling affairs: maintaining a clean heart and hands ensures that the divination will not be distorted.
The method of using the禽星 (wild animal stars) is as follows:
凡日時之禽,為彼我共享之禽。番禽為自己,到將為他人。今人不明番到之理,□以時勝日為我勝彼,殊不知禽星有□弱,人事有善惡,以善應惡,以惡應善者。惟兵家專用我勝彼,其餘事有用彼勝我者,有用我勝彼者,有用彼我之比和者,有用先善後惡為漏禽者。事類不一,□舉數事,切於日用,條目於後。
All daily and hourly animals are shared between both sides; "pan animal" represents oneself, and "dao jiang" represents the other party. Nowadays people do not understand the principles of "pan" and "dao." They generally consider that if the hourly animal defeats the daily animal, it means that our side has defeated the other side ("□ with the hourly animal defeating the daily animal" where the missing character should be "gai" or "lv"). But they do not realize that the animal stars themselves have strong and weak distinctions, and human affairs also have good and evil distinctions: there are cases where good responds to evil, and cases where evil responds to good. Only military strategists exclusively take the case where our side defeats the other side; in other types of affairs, there are cases where the other side should defeat our side, cases where our side should defeat the other side, cases where the two sides should be harmonious, and cases where the initial good is followed by evil to form "lou animal." Since affairs vary, the following briefly lists a few that are most relevant to daily life, and they are listed one by one below ("□ list several things" where the missing character should be "lue").
Divination on Marriage
When divining about marriage, the "Fān Qín" represents the male family, the "Dào Jiāng" represents the female family, and the "Rì Qín" represents the媒人 (matchmaker). If the禽 (animal) of our side overcomes the禽 of the other side, or vice versa, the marriage will not succeed; even if it is forced to happen, it will ultimately not be harmonious. If the禽 of the other side generates the禽 of our side, the marriage will be easy to arrange and will result in a long and harmonious life together. If our禽 generates the other side's禽, the marriage will be difficult to arrange. If the two禽 are in harmony according to the Five Phases, the marriage can still succeed. If the Rì Qín overcomes us, or our禽 overcomes the Rì Qín, it indicates that the matchmaker will not exert effort. If the Rì Qín is in a favorable position and generates us, the matchmaker will be effective, and the marriage will be easy to arrange. If both sides'禽 and the Rì Qín and Shí Qín are in the Triple Harmony positions, the marriage will also be easy to arrange.
Divination on childbirth and pregnancy.
When divining about childbirth, the domestic animal represents the mother and the foreign animal represents the fetus. If the domestic animal overcomes the foreign animal, childbirth is easy. If the foreign animal overcomes the domestic animal, it indicates a difficult delivery. If the day animal overcomes the foreign animal, childbirth is also easy. If the domestic animal is strong and the foreign animal is weak, it indicates the mother is safe but the fetus is in danger. Conversely, if the foreign animal is strong and the domestic animal is weak, it indicates the fetus is safe but the mother is in danger. If the day animal is weak and falls in an unfavorable position, and it overcomes the domestic animal, it indicates the mother is ill. If the hour animal overcomes the day animal, it indicates a quick delivery.
Another view states that if a yang bird is in a yang palace, it produces a son, and if a yin bird is in a yin palace, it produces a daughter. The yang birds are: Kangle, Niu, Bi, Xu, Wei, Shi, Kui, Lou, Zhang, Bi, Xing, Zi; the yin birds are: Jiao, Di, Gui, Liu, Can, Wei, Nu, Dou, Xin, Fang, Jing, Ji (Wei is found in both categories, as in the original text). Even if a yang bird is in a yin palace, it still produces a son, and even if a yin bird is in a yang palace, it still produces a daughter. This shows that determining the gender first depends on the yin and yang of the bird, while the palace position is merely auxiliary. The "Bird Book" says: recognizing where the bird star falls is a skill worth ten thousand gold.
Divination for Seeking Wealth
When divining about seeking wealth, the "Fān Qín" represents the person seeking wealth, the "Dào Jiāng" represents the person spending money, and the "Rì Qín" represents the wealth itself as well as the intermediary or broker. If the three Qín are in harmony with each other and do not mutually control each other, wealth will be easily obtained and the matters concerned will proceed smoothly. However, if the Rì Qín and the opposing Qín both come to control me, then wealth will turn to control me, making it difficult to obtain. If my side's Qín controls the opposing Qín, it is only half good. If the Rì Qín controls the opposing Qín, it definitely means that the intermediary will obstruct, and the matter will not succeed.
Divination on official disputes
When divining about legal cases or lawsuits, the animal representing the person asking the question is the self-animal, the animal representing the opponent is the other-animal, and the day-animal represents the official handling the case. Whether it is I accusing someone else or someone else accusing me, my self-animal must be higher than the other-animal in order to control both sides. If my self-animal overcomes the other-animal, it indicates that I have the right and will win the case; if the other-animal overcomes my self-animal, it means the opponent has the right and I will lose. If the day-animal generates my self-animal, the official will support me and the opponent will be guilty; if the day-animal generates the other-animal, the official will support the opponent and I will be guilty. If both my self-animal and the other-animal are overcome by the day-animal, both sides will be guilty. If both my self-animal and the other-animal overcome the day-animal, neither side's case will be approved. If the three animals are harmonious and do not overcome each other, a mediator will appear and the case will naturally be resolved. If the three animals mutually overcome each other or fall into the punishment and harm sectors, it indicates that the official will delay the case.
Divination on Illness
In divination for illness, the "Fān Qín" represents the patient, "Dào Jiāng" represents the illness, and the "Rì Qín" represents the doctor. If the patient's animal overcomes the illness's animal, the patient will recover without medication. If the patient's animal overcomes the Rì Qín, recovery is also possible. However, if the illness's animal overcomes the patient's animal, recovery will be difficult. If the Rì Qín overcomes the illness's animal, medication is advisable. If the Rì Qín overcomes the patient's animal, treatment will be challenging. If the patient's animal is not in a favorable position and the opposing animal also overcomes it, death is likely. If the opposing animal is not in a favorable position, even if the卦象 is unfavorable, as long as the patient's animal is in a favorable position, recovery is likely.
Divination on Travelers' Movements
When divining about someone who is away from home, use the animal of our side to represent the inquirer, the animal of the opposing side to represent the traveler, and the day animal to represent the path and the direction the traveler is going. If our animal overcomes the opposing animal, the traveler will not return. If the opposing animal overcomes ours or generates ours, the traveler will arrive immediately. If the day animal overcomes the opposing animal, the traveler will encounter obstacles on the way. If the opposing animal falls into the palace of the day animal or combines with it, the traveler has not yet departed. If the opposing animal falls into our palace, the traveler will arrive immediately. If the opposing animal can overcome the day animal, there will be no obstacles on the way, and the traveler will soon return home.
Divination on capturing or apprehending someone.
When divining about capturing or apprehending someone, it is necessary that our side's animal is of higher position and can overcome and control the opponent's animal. If our side's animal can subdue the opponent's animal, then that person will definitely succeed in capturing them. For example, if the opponent's animal is 'Room Mansion Rabbit' and our side's animal is 'Luo Gold Dog', although according to the theory of rabbit overcoming dog, it is considered as the opponent overcoming us, our side's animal has a higher position and can swallow and subdue the opponent, so we will still definitely obtain their head.
Divination for Warfare
When selecting a favorable time for battle, one must ensure that the internal strength is strong while the external appearance is gentle. If our side is strong and the enemy is weak, our forces will gain an advantage by being in a favorable position, while the enemy, being in a weak and afflicted position, will surely be defeated. For example, if our forces are represented by 'Tail Fire Tiger' and 'Sickle Water Leopard', and the enemy's forces are represented by 'Lou Metal Dog' and 'Room Fire Pig', then our side is strong and the enemy is weak. Thus, when we go to battle, we will achieve victory in every fight, and the enemy will be forced to surrender with no place to escape.
Divination for Hunting and Fishing
When divining about fishing or hunting, use the animal of our side to represent the person engaged in fishing or hunting, and the animal of the opposing side to represent the prey. The day's animal represents the location of the hunt and the tools used. First, check whether the day's animal and the time's animal are harmonious and meet each other. Next, if the opposing animal generates the our side's animal, it is favorable. If the day's animal restrains the opposing animal, the prey will hide and remain still. If the opposing animal restrains the day's animal, it is suitable to set nets or use bows. If the opposing animal is harmonious with the day's animal, it is suitable to use a bent net (a type of seine net). If our side's animal restrains the opposing animal, it is suitable to cast a net. If our side's animal is too strong and the opposing animal is overly restrained, it is as if the prey is killed by us, making it difficult to catch. For traveling, face the crane deity and back to Tai Bai; exit through the gate of injury and the gate of death. Avoid broken paths, empty voids, and the empty void of the ten-day cycle. It is favorable to choose a day of concealment and cutting off, and to use tools such as knife and砧, blood blade, flying廉, receiving death, moon killing, and the day of fish and bird meeting. This is contrary to the usual aversion toInauspicious Sha in other matters, because fishing and hunting rely on killing and injuring.
Divination for meeting and visiting people
When divining about visiting or meeting someone, use 'fan qin' to represent myself, 'dao jiang' to represent the other person, and 'ri qin' to represent the place where we meet. If the other person's qin is strong and generates me, then visiting them will bring good news; if I want to invite someone to meet, they will come on their own. If my qin overcomes the other person's qin, it means my status is too high, and the person will not come. If 'ri qin' and 'shi qin' generate the other person's qin, the person wants to come but cannot. If 'ri qin' and 'shi qin' do not mutually overcome each other but encounter 'fu duan', the person is at home and will not come out. If it is exactly during 'kong wang' or 'wu bu yu', the person is definitely not at home. Then look at the palace where it falls to determine their location: if it falls in the position of mountains and forests, the person is in a county or town; if it falls in the position of fields and gardens, the person is in the neighborhood; if it falls in the position of fields, we will meet halfway; others follow the same pattern.
