The worlds of the ten directions are the same One Vehicle; how could the Dharma body without marks be two?

If one abandons afflictions to enter bodhi, one does not know in which direction there is a Buddha land.

When the Layman was about to enter extinction, he told his daughter Lingzhao to go out and look at how early or late the sun was, and to report when it was noon. His daughter hurried back and said: "The sun is already at noon, and there is an eclipse." While the Layman went out of the door to look, Lingzhao climbed into her father's seat, put her palms together and died sitting. The Layman laughed and said: "My daughter is quick." So he extended his stay another seven days. When the prefect Yu came to inquire about his illness, the Layman told him: "I only wish that you empty all that exists, and take care not to make real what does not exist. Farewell. Everything in the world is like shadow and echo." When he finished speaking, he died with his head on the prefect's knee. He left an order to cremate and scatter his remains. Monks and laypeople across the rivers and lakes grieved, saying that Layman Pang of the Chan school was Vimalakirti of Vaisali. More than three hundred poems and verses of his are transmitted in the world.
