Chapter 121: The Chapter on Initiating Lawsuits and Complaints

（以官鬼為主，父母為憑。）文詞相訴至公庭，須要官爻父母興。凡占造狀訴詞，父母為之狀詞文移。官鬼乃官府作主之人，須要二爻上卦為吉。父陷休來投此狀，官空莫去訴其情，爻中無父誰簽押，卦內無官訟不成。如父母空亡墓絕、或無父母上卦，雖有詞無處告理，雖造也不准。若官鬼逢空或絕、或無官上卦乃無貴主張，決難舉訟，縱舉不結。

When writing a complaint and filing it in court, both the "Official Ghost" and "Parents" lines must be strong. In divination related to drafting a complaint, the "Parents" represent the official documents, while the "Official Ghost" represents the official in charge at the court. Only when both lines are present in the upper trigram is it favorable. If the "Parents" are empty or hidden, do not submit the complaint. If the "Official Ghost" is empty or in a state of decline, do not seek redress. If there is no "Parents" line, there will be no one to sign and seal the document. If there is no "Official Ghost" line, the lawsuit cannot proceed. If the "Parents" are in a state of emptiness, burial, or absence, even if the complaint is written, there will be no place to submit it, and even if written, it will not be accepted. If the "Official Ghost" is empty or in a state of decline, or if it is absent, there will be no official to support you, making it impossible to initiate a lawsuit. Even if you file a complaint, the case will not be resolved.

父鬼兩全方准理，福財不動定標名。但得父官旺相、或動而生世持世者，則狀有理，告必準行，官能做主，訟必全勝。其中更忌妻財子孫發動，動則徒費乎心。故經云：財動文書空費力，子動傷官事不亨，凡占居訟卦中，若得父官有氣，財子俱安，詞能准理哉？

The parents and official ghost lines are both present, indicating that the lawsuit will be accepted. The children and wealth lines must remain quiet and unmoving in order to achieve a favorable outcome and win the case. As long as the parents and official ghost lines are prosperous and strong, or if they activate the world line or sit on the world line, the lawsuit will be reasonable and accepted, and the official in charge will support you, ensuring a complete victory. It is particularly unfavorable for the wealth and children lines to be activated, as any movement will result in wasted effort. Therefore, the classic text says: if the wealth line is activated, the documents will be submitted in vain; if the children line is activated, it will harm the official ghost line and lead to difficulties. In any divination concerning lawsuits, if the parents and official ghost lines are strong, and the wealth and children lines are quiet, how could the lawsuit not be accepted?

（以文書為主，應象為憑。）舉訴還須擇訟師，輸贏勝負仗文書，臨空值破難舉訟，遇動逢生易起詞。凡人興訟，必仗訟師之忠厚、刀筆之利修，方可獲勝。故以文書為主，若父母興隆生合我者，則狀易準而事亦勝。若日辰沖剋父母、或臨旬空月破、化財等類，則外有虛名，內無實學，不惟無益，抑且有害，在意難以興舉耳。妻體動來終不准，夫身空去亦非宜。文書為之用爻，若逢財動乃傷用象決非美辭難以聳聽。夫身者，即官鬼也，若值空亡，乃無貴主張，決不准理。卦爻之內此為大忌也。

People who initiate lawsuits must rely on a loyal and skilled lawyer to win, so this chapter emphasizes the "Parents" line. If the "Parents" line is strong and supports the "World" line and harmonizes with it, the lawsuit will be accepted and the case can be won. However, if the day branch clashes with the "Parents" line, or if the "Parents" line is in the旬空 (decade void) or broken by the month, or transforms into the "Wealth" line, the lawyer is only a name without real ability, and will not help but may cause harm. In such cases, it is difficult to initiate a lawsuit. If the "Wealth" line is active, the lawsuit will not be accepted. If the "Official Ghost" line is empty, it is also unfavorable. The "Parents" line is the main deity of this chapter. If the "Wealth" line is active, it harms the main deity, and the written lawsuit will not be persuasive, and will not move the officials. The "Official Ghost" refers to the official in charge; if the "Official Ghost" line is in the void, there will be no official to preside, and the lawsuit will certainly not be accepted. This is a major taboo in the hexagram lines.

應如克世遭欺詐，鬼若傷身反被輸，應落空亡無彼方，世逢沖破有人欺。一卦之中，勝負全在世應之生克，如應多克世、或是鬼克世者，必然彼行欺詐之心，無益於我，反遭刑辱。應若空絕，決無奇策良詞。世逢日沖月破，須防奸人有嫉妒暗傷之禍。

If the Response Line is able to overcome the World Line, it indicates being deceived by a litigant; if the Official Ghost harms the Hexagram Body, it means losing the case. If the Response Line falls into the Empty and Absolute, it suggests the opposing side has no solid position. If the World Line is confronted or broken, it implies being bullied by others. In a single hexagram, the outcome of victory or defeat depends on the relationship between the World Line and the Response Line. If the Response Line repeatedly overcomes the World Line, or if the Official Ghost overcomes the World Line, it indicates the opposing side has fraudulent intentions, which is detrimental to me and may bring about punishment. If the Response Line falls into the Empty and Absolute, the litigant will certainly be unable to devise clever strategies or eloquent arguments. If the World Line is confronted by the Day Branch or broken by the Month Builder, one should beware of jealous people who may secretly harm.

交重坐印行行美，日月生文字字奇。舉訟者，先憑文書為主，若父母發動戊日辰月建生用合用者，則積金美玉之辭，運籌帷幄之計。若父母逢空被克者，不過是孤陋寡聞，浮言淺見耳，豈堪大用哉！

The term "parents" refers to the document or written evidence. When "parents" interact with each other through mutual influence and are positioned in the official seal position, the written words become neat and elegant. If the day branch and month builder also support and strengthen the official seal, the writing becomes even more extraordinary. In litigation, "parents" (documents) are the main focus: if "parents" are activated and receive support and reinforcement from the day branch and month builder, the written statements will be as precious as gold and jade, and the strategy will be as meticulous as planning in a war room. However, if "parents" are vacant and are attacked, the lawyer is merely a shallow and ignorant person, speaking only superficial words, and is not fit for important tasks.

（占訟以間爻為主，問保以應象為憑。）欲成詞訟先尋保，曲直妍強論應爻。被訟正庭必覓保歇，欲識善美用在應列。若旺若生宜結識，如空如絕莫相交。如應旺相，生世合世者，乃志誠忠直之人，有益於我，事可燼托。若逢旬空、月破、墓絕者，乃係卑賤薄悻之流，難旋大事，不可相交耳。

This chapter discusses the strength of a guarantor. If considering a lawsuit卦, the focus should be on the "intermediate line"; if specifically asking about the guarantor, then the "response line" is used. Before a lawsuit begins, one must find the guarantor. Whether this person is upright or crooked, capable or weak, is judged by the "response line." When someone is taken to court, they must find a guarantor. To know if this person is good or bad, the useful god falls on the "response line." If the "response line" is prosperous and strong, or receives support and generation, it is advisable to associate with this person. However, if the "response line" is in a state of emptiness or decline, one should avoid contact. If the "response line" is prosperous and also generates and combines with the "world line," this indicates a sincere and loyal person who is beneficial and trustworthy, and one can entrust matters to him. If the "response line" encounters a旬空, month breaker, or墓绝, this signifies a lowly and superficial person who cannot handle big matters, and one should not associate with him.

生我比和叨大力，不來傷世斷為高。保歇之人，以應為用，如生世或合世合比和者，乃得渠竭力扶助公私協濟。若不空不克世者，也得一力，亦以為妙。官傷世體還須忌，六象皆沖不必勞。但凡官鬼傷克世爻者，最為大忌。卦值六沖者，並無斡旋之力，皆不可用也。

The 'Response Line' nurturing me or harmonizing with me can bring great assistance from others; even if it does not nurture me, as long as it does not harm the 'World Line', it is still excellent. For those seeking protection, the 'Response Line' is considered the 'Useful God': if it nurtures the 'World Line', or harmonizes with it, or shares the same Five Phases, it indicates that this person will wholeheartedly support you, handling both public and private matters. Even if it does not nurture me but does not fall into emptiness or harm the 'World Line', it still contributes some effort and is still acceptable. However, the 'Official Ghost' harming or overcoming the 'World Line' is still to be avoided. If all six lines in the hexagram clash, it is unnecessary to exert effort. Whenever the 'Official Ghost' harms or overcomes the 'World Line', it is the most serious concern. If the hexagram encounters 'Six Clashes', the person seeking protection has no ability to mediate and is not suitable for the task.

（占訟以間爻為主，問中以應象為憑。）問訟全憑見證人，卦中應位察虛真。凡臨庭聽訟理之曲直，全在中證之口，故占之吉凶，但取應爻為用神，可推忠佞之心，則理不辨而自明矣！

In the hexagram of lawsuits, the "intermediate line" is primarily considered, but when specifically inquiring about a middle witness, the "response line" is used as the basis. In lawsuits, witnesses are crucial, so one must carefully examine the truth and authenticity of the "response line" in the hexagram. When appearing in court to determine the right and wrong, the key lies in the testimony of the witness. Therefore, when predicting the fortune or misfortune of the witness, the "response line" is taken as the useful god. From this, one can determine whether the person is loyal or deceitful, and the truth will be clear without the need for argument.

不空不絕無他意，居動居沖有變心，若克世爻遭彼害，如生身世賴其思。以應為之用爻，不逢空、不逢絕、不旺相而生我合世者，乃竭力盡忠公私協護。若逢日辰沖動，面允心非冷聲暗語之人。若值發動，主世有益。克世，乃反而無情兇惡之輩。若帶蛇虎兄鬼，必蓄奸諂挾騙之心。倘得休衰或不克於我猶可知，逢旺相情勢越熾。若來克世者，必被諧言功計以直作曲，種種制陷不可勝言。

The "Response Line" should not be empty or in a state of decline; if that is the case, this person has no other intentions. If it is activated or is affected by a conflicting branch, the hexagram will change. If it overcomes the "World Line," I will be harmed by him. If it supports the hexagram body and the "World Line," I will receive his support. The "Response Line" is the main deity in this chapter: if it is not empty, not in decline, although not prosperous or strong, yet it supports me and harmonizes with the "World Line," then it is someone who is loyal and devoted, helping me both in public and private affairs. If it is disturbed by the day branch, it means he agrees with me in front but betrays me behind, speaking coldly and insincerely. If it activates and supports the "World Line," it is beneficial to me; if it activates and overcomes the "World Line," it is a person who turns against me suddenly and is cruel. If it is accompanied by "Tengshe," "Baihu," "Siblings," or "Official Ghost," it indicates he has deceitful and treacherous intentions. If it is weak and declining, or does not overcome me, it is still acceptable; but once it becomes strong and prosperous, its power will grow even more. If it overcomes the "World Line," he will use sweet words and secret schemes to twist the truth, making straight things seem crooked, and there will be endless accusations and false accusations against me.

爻爻沖擊多更改，無鬼誰官問此人。爻爻沖聲者，即六沖卦也。此人翻雲覆雨，情性不常。內外無官鬼，則臨庭不問，此人徒投聲勢耳。故經云：官鬼空亡墓絕，須知無貴張主。中證受刑官克應，主人被責鬼傷身。應為中見之人，必得興隆而生合世者，極為有力之人，忽被官鬼克害刑沖應者，輕為話不投機，重則鞭林罪戾。若鬼來克世者，我亦受累害非小可。

Six lines of the hexagram are all in conflict, indicating that the witness keeps changing his statement. Since there is no 'Official Ghost' in the hexagram, there will be no official who questions this person. The term 'each line is in conflict' refers to a hexagram of 'Six Clashes'. Such a witness is fickle and changes his mind. Both the inner and outer trigrams do not show 'Official Ghost', meaning that when he appears in court, the official will not question him. This person is just making a show of strength. Therefore, the classic text says: when 'Official Ghost' is in an empty state or buried, it indicates there is no official in charge. If 'Official Ghost' overcomes 'Response Line', the witness himself will be punished. If 'Official Ghost' harms the hexagram body, the main person will be blamed. 'Response Line' represents the person who is in the middle and gives testimony. It must be strong and support 'World Line' to be a very helpful person. If it is suddenly overcome or clashed by 'Official Ghost', the light case is that the testimony is not in agreement, the serious case is that he will be whipped or convicted. If 'Official Ghost' turns to overcome 'World Line', I will suffer a great deal of trouble.

如占訟內推中見，棄應還從間位論，二間卻分原被證。方知意向那旁存，近世之爻吾訴有，近他之象彼家親。獨占中證，取應為用。詞訟卦中看者，應為被告，豈用中人？故論間爻方為中，見近應看，為彼之證，鄰世者，作我之中。二間之爻母論彼此，生我者忠誠直斡，我生者，下氣相求。合我者，自然和助。克我者，有損無益。故經云：間爻傷世，須防硬證同謀。

In a divination chart concerning a lawsuit, if we also consider witnesses, we should disregard the 'Response Line' and instead refer to the 'Intermediate Lines': the two 'Intermediate Lines' represent the witnesses of the plaintiff and the defendant respectively, allowing us to determine their respective inclinations— the one closer to the 'World Line' is my side's witness, while the one closer to the 'Response Line' is the defendant's confidant. When divining solely about a witness, the 'Response Line' is taken as the 'Useful God'; however, in a lawsuit chart, the 'Response Line' already represents the defendant, so it cannot be used as a witness. Therefore, we should consider the 'Intermediate Lines' as the central position for testimony: the one closer to the 'Response Line' is the opponent's witness, while the one adjacent to the 'World Line' is my side's intermediary. These two 'Intermediate Lines', regardless of which side they belong to, those that generate me are loyal and willing to help me, those that I generate are humbly seeking my favor, those that harmonize with me naturally support me, and those that overcome me are harmful and unbeneficial. Therefore, the classic text says: if the 'Intermediate Line' overcomes the 'World Line', we should be cautious that the opponent has bribed a strong witness to conspire with him.

（以官鬼為主，世應為憑。）問訟須將官鬼憑，扶身扶世永無刑。凡占訟事，惟以官鬼為憑。若生世，必是理順人情卻無刑險。若帶貴吉之神合世者，乃有不意中之人扶持，故言聽計從大獲全勝。縱成索而亦無損益，吉則無喜，凶則無憂。故經云：卦中無鬼休謀事，官爻不見事空虛。

When questioning about legal cases, one must rely on the "Official Ghost" line. If it supports the "Hexagram Body" and the "World Line," then there will be no legal punishment. In all cases of litigation, only the "Official Ghost" is considered. If the "Official Ghost" generates the "World Line," it indicates that the case is just and the situation is favorable, with no danger of punishment. If the "Official Ghost" brings a nobleman or auspicious deity to join the "World Line," it means unexpected people will support the case, leading to easy agreement and a great victory. Even if the matter becomes a deadlock, there will be no loss or gain, neither joy nor worry. Therefore, the classic text says: if the "Official Ghost" is not present in the hexagram, do not take action; if the official line does not appear, the matter will ultimately be in vain.

旺生之日公堂發，墓絕之時紙筆停。如官鬼逢臨官帝旺之日、或生扶官鬼之日，乃是臨庭決斷之期矣。故經云：官旺日則面拆庭諍。如逢墓絕，筆竟淹留阻滯。若帶青龍貴人，必因美之事停留。若滯白虎劫煞凶神，必有奸人索詐停住，未得決斷。要知何日問理，卻看官爻衰旺，不可一見而言。官如旺相，反尋墓絕之期。鬼若休囚，問在旺生之日。官居庫內，沖庫方興。鬼入空中，沖空免發。六爻無鬼，須求鬼值日時，此論斷訟之期，不可輕視。

When the "Official Ghost" (官鬼) is prosperous and strong and receives support, the court will hold hearings. When the "Official Ghost" enters its burial and reaches its decline, the case files and writing tools are set aside. If the "Official Ghost" meets its officialdom and prosperity days, or if days that generate and support the "Official Ghost" occur, it is the time for the court to deliver judgment. Therefore, the classic text says: on days when the official爻 is strong, the case will be argued in court. If the "Official Ghost" meets its burial and decline, the case will be delayed and obstructed. If at this time the "Official Ghost" is accompanied by the "Azure Dragon" (青龙) and the "Nobleman" (贵人), it is likely due to a joyful event causing the case to be postponed. If accompanied by the "White Tiger" (白虎) and "Robbery Sha" (劫煞) and otherInauspicious Spirit, it is surely due to a wicked person demanding bribes and causing the case to be halted, delaying the judgment. To determine the day of the hearing, one must also consider the strength and decline of the official爻, and not make a general judgment: if the official爻 is strong and prosperous, one should look for the day when it enters its burial or decline; if the official爻 is weak and confined, one should look for the day when it is prosperous and receives support; if the official爻 is buried in the storage (墓库), one should wait until the day that opens the storage; if the official爻 is in the旬空, one should wait until the day that breaks the旬空. If none of the six lines show the "Official Ghost," one should look for the time when the "Official Ghost" is on duty. This is the method for determining the date of court proceedings, and it should not be taken lightly.

若臨身世沖剋世，縱勝還當擬罪名，日月制官生合世，理虧也主稱心情。如官爻持世沖世克世、臨卦身者，大主有罪，若加白虎有杖責。加勾陳騰蛇，主有牽連罪責者，日辰月將制服官爻，而生世合世者，縱然理折情曲，反得回凶作吉。經云：有人制鬼，鬼動何妨？

If the official ghost is on the hexagram body and clashes with the world line, even if the lawsuit is won, the person himself will still bear a criminal charge. If the day branch and month builder restrain the official ghost and generate the world line or harmonize with it, even if the case is unjust, the person can still be content. If the official ghost is sitting on the world line, or clashes with the world line, or is on the hexagram body, it usually indicates that the person himself is guilty. If the white tiger is added, he will be beaten with sticks. If the hook Chen and the taming snake are added, there will be related criminal responsibilities. However, if the day branch and month general restrain the official ghost and generate the world line or harmonize with it, even if the case is unjust, it can turn bad fortune into good. The classic says: if someone can control the official ghost, then the official ghost's movement will not cause any trouble.

鬼臨空地無官斷，雖問無祥無險驚。如官鬼值旬空月破或不上卦，決是無官問斷，枉自奔波，雖然勉強求問，問而不成案卷。官化子兮詞漸解，子化官兮訟復興。鬼為問斷之官，若化子孫，乃變解和之神。此事日漸月消，終外有人和釋矣。子孫本和和允之神，驚變官鬼此乃吉變凶爻，本主自當解散復又興舉。若化鬼克世者，大不吉之兆耳。

The "Official Ghost" falling into an empty position means there is no official to judge the case. Even if one goes to inquire, there will be neither good nor bad fortune, just a disturbance in vain. If the "Official Ghost" meets the旬空 (decade emptiness), Month Breaker (month breaker), or does not appear in the hexagram, it certainly means there is no official handling the case, and one will be running around in vain. Even if one tries to ask someone to intervene, the case will not be filed. When the "Official Ghost" transforms into the "Children," the lawsuit gradually dissipates; when the "Children" transform into the "Official Ghost," the lawsuit will again arise. The "Official Ghost" represents the chief judge, and if it transforms into the "Children," it becomes the mediator, and the case will gradually be resolved, eventually being settled by someone from outside. The "Children" are originally deities of harmony and conciliation; if they suddenly transform into the "Official Ghost," it is a transformation from a good爻 to a bad爻, and something that was supposed to be settled will again cause trouble. If the transformed "Official Ghost" also harms the "World Line," it is a very ominous sign.

世空自懈宜和息，應空彼到沒期程。世爻值旬空者，乃自意懶心灰無能聽理，甘自求和，應值空亡者，彼亦退訟。世被應爻兄動克，常多私下受期凌。若應爻臨兄動，或加白虎同來克世，不時防私下逞兇捉打。應若旺相剋世者，種種欺凌可可朋言。

The World Line falls into emptiness, indicating one's own laziness and inclination to settle matters amicably; the Response Line falling into emptiness suggests the other party will not appear, with no definite date. If the World Line meets the旬空, it means one has lost heart and is unwilling to continue the lawsuit, preferring to seek reconciliation. If the Response Line falls into 空亡, then the other party will also withdraw from the dispute. If the Response Line's Siblings is activated to attack the World Line, one often suffers bullying in private. If the Response Line has Siblings activated, or if White Tiger joins in to attack the World Line, one should always be on guard against the other party taking violent action in secret. If the Response Line is prosperous and strong and attacks the World Line, the various forms of oppression are too numerous to describe.

要知何日參官勝，應遭沖剋世逢生，且如寅日來占遁，生我沖他理必贏。若問吉日決斷，但逢日辰生合世爻，而沖剋應爻之日，乃為大吉之期。後而甲寅日占得天山遁卦，世居二爻丙午賴寅日而生，午火乃生我之日，五爻應坐壬申被寅日相沖，乃沖彼之日矣。是為生我沖彼，大獲全勝之日矣！

To determine a day when a case will be won, look for a day when the 'Response Line' is being clashed and controlled, while the 'World Line' is being generated and supported. For example, if on a寅 day the Hexagram of Retreat is drawn, the寅 wood generates me and clashes with the other side, the case will certainly be won. If asking about a favorable day for judgment, choose a day when the Day Branch generates or harmonizes with the 'World Line', while also clashing with the 'Response Line'. This is a very auspicious day. For instance, on aJiayin day with the Hexagram of Heaven over Mountain Retreat, the 'World Line' is on the second line,Bingwu fire, which is entirely supported by the寅 wood; the午 fire is the generating line. The fifth line, the 'Response Line', is onRenshen metal, which is exactly clashed by the寅 wood. This is a day of generating me and clashing with the other side, which is a day of great victory.

（以官爻為主，世象為憑。）問禁單愁宮鬼搖，傷身克世禍當招。鎖獄禁監，惟忌官興殺動。殺者，即天獄煞也。若官鬼動或天獄殺動、或鬼來克世者，當犯囹圄之禍，故經云：天獄殺動此身須入牢房。

When asking whether one will be detained, the main concern is the movement of the "Official Ghost"; if it harms or overpowers the Hexagram Body and the "World Line," misfortune will follow. In matters of being imprisoned, one should be cautious of the "Official Ghost" being strong and active, or malevolent stars being activated. Here, the "soul" referred to is the "Heavenly Prison Star." If the "Official Ghost" is activated, or the "Heavenly Prison Star" is activated, or the "Official Ghost" comes to harm the "World Line," then imprisonment is inevitable. Therefore, the classic text says: When the "Heavenly Prison Star" moves, the person will be sent to prison.

鬼如空絕無監獄，子若交重免禁牢。但得官鬼逢空、或逢絕、或卦中無鬼，乃無力興禍，則無監禁之憂。若子孫發動必制官爻，有何關鎖之慮哉？日月世身臨福德，縱然有罪出潛消。子孫為解神，若值日辰、或臨月建、或持世上、或在卦身、或逢發動，皆能制鬼，焉有牢獄鎖禁哉？

If "Official Ghost" falls into an empty position or a dead position, there will be no imprisonment; if "Children" are activated by intersecting lines or repeated lines, there will also be no need for imprisonment. As long as "Official Ghost" meets the condition of being in the empty period, or is in a dead position, or is not present in the hexagram, it will be powerless to cause trouble and there will be no fear of being imprisoned. If "Children" are activated, they can certainly control the "Official Ghost," so there is no worry of being detained. If "Day Branch," "Month Builder," "World Line," or the hexagram body is occupied by "Children" (Fortune Virtue), even if there is a crime, it will be secretly eliminated. "Children" are the deities that remove calamities: they can control "Official Ghost" if they are on the day, or on the month, or sitting on the world line, or in the hexagram body, or if they are activated themselves. Therefore, there will be no fear of imprisonment or shackles.

那日見官無禁擊，鬼逢剋制便為高，世臨墓日休投到，身遇生時罪可逃。如占何日見官可免，凶禁者須逢克鬼之日，乃是吉期，可以臨庭聽斷。又得日辰月建生扶世爻者，不惟免禁脫罪，反有謀成訟勝。若世值死絕墓庫之日，乃身無依靠之時，切莫去參官投到告保催提等事，如若勉施為，反遭一場刑辰耳。

Which day is suitable for meeting an official without being detained? The best day is when the 'Official Ghost' is restrained; avoid going to report oneself on the day when the 'World Line' is buried. If the 'Hexagram Body' is supported, the responsibility can be avoided. If you want to determine a day to meet an official to avoid detention, choose the day when the 'Official Ghost' is restrained, which is an auspicious period and suitable for appearing in court. If the 'Day Branch' and 'Month Builder' also support the 'World Line', you will not only avoid detention and escape the charge, but also succeed in your case and win the lawsuit. If the 'World Line' is in a dead or buried state, it is a time when you have no support, so avoid meeting officials, reporting yourself, or making complaints. If you insist on doing so, you may suffer unnecessary punishment.

（以世爻為主，官鬼為憑。）人問離監出獄門，去枷脫鎖肘同尋，用逢生旺離災厄，官鬼交重獄久存。若人被禁監牢、或枷鎖鎖肘無山解脫，須占之易象。如用爻逢生逢旺之日，即可離監釋禍矣！若用爻雖逢生旺，官鬼發動者，亦未得脫監卸枷。若鬼克世者，反要嚴刑，無山解脫？

If the "Useful God" is supported and in a strong position on a favorable day, they can be released from prison and escape disaster. Even if the "Useful God" is supported and strong, if the "Official Ghost" is active, they still cannot be released from prison or remove their shackles. If the "Official Ghost" attacks the "World Line," the punishment will be intensified, and they will have no way to escape.

合處逢沖憂變喜，墓中遇破鎖離身，假令戌日占觀卦，辰日推開喜氣臨。六爻之內，凡有逢沖必散，但得合處逢沖墓中被破。假如戌日占得風地觀卦，二爻巳火官爻身位臨之，詩云：身隨鬼入墓，候逢辰日沖開戌墓，則憂容變喜，禍罪消釋矣！

Originally compatible but encountering a clash in the middle, worries turn into joy; when a trapped line is broken by a clash, the chains are removed. For example, if on the day of Wu (戌) one draws the Hexagram of Observing, and on the day of Chen (辰) the墓 of Wu is broken open, joy will come to the door. For instance, on the day of Wu (戌) one draws the Hexagram of Observing, the second line is Si fire, which is 'Official Ghost', and theThe Hexagram Body also falls on this line. The old poem says 'the body follows the ghost into the墓', referring to this situation. When on the day of Chen (辰) the墓 of Wu earth is broken open, sorrow turns into joy, and troubles and accusations are resolved.

世值子孫殃易散，用爻化鬼反加屯，子空財動官爻旺，還守囹圄度歲旬。子孫為解散之神，若持世上，事當解散矣！如用化官鬼，乃是吉變凶神，必有禍患。若子孫值空，則官鬼無制，財爻一動反助官爻旺相，旺反生災禍，則監牢難脫，枷鎖難疏。卦內無官誰釋放，細查鬼值那良辰，方言脫獄兼開肘，鬼絕逢生加此云。六爻無鬼、或鬼空亡，乃無官做主，難以疏脫。鬼若絕處逢生，方是疏枷離獄之良辰也。

If the Useful God transforms into the Official Ghost, it is a good爻 turning into aInauspicious Spirit, inevitably leading to misfortune. If the Children fall into an empty position, the Official Ghost has no one to restrain it; when the Wealth moves, it actually supports the Official Ghost, making it stronger, and the stronger it becomes, the more disasters arise, so imprisonment and shackles remain. If the卦 does not contain the Official Ghost, who will issue the order for release? One must carefully check which auspicious day the Official Ghost falls on, only then can one talk about being released from prison and unlocking the shackles; when the Official Ghost is in the绝 position but meets the生 condition, it is also judged according to this principle. If there is no Official Ghost among the six lines, or if the Official Ghost falls into an empty position, it means there is no superior authority to decide, making it difficult to be released. Only when the Official Ghost is in the绝 position but meets the生 condition is it the good day to remove shackles and leave prison.

（吊卷以文書為主，關人以世應為憑。）若請卷宗，卦內父官宜旺相；欲提人犯，爻中彼應怕空亡。凡吊卷提人，須得官鬼興隆，文書興旺，又要應爻生合世爻，倘世應值空值絕，人犯難拘文書不發。

世空則我不擒他，應陷則彼非在舍。但凡拘攝人犯先須自壯，方可提獲。若世值旬空月破者，乃自無主意，焉得人來會面？應落空亡，則彼己先逃，空自往返。無父，必此關無力，卷吊難來。無官，必其事無成，人提不至。父母為文書之用，凡關吊卷宗，須得父爻旺相而生合世爻，即今文案而回。若父落空亡墓絕、或無父爻上卦，筆竟更移抽滅遣失弊隱難以發行。官吏以鬼為用，若卜提人，須得鬼爻有氣，則易以捉獲。鬼逢空墓或鬼不上卦，則無官主張，縱然拘攝豈得提人至哉？

The "World Line" is empty, meaning I cannot hold onto the person; the "Response Line" is trapped in emptiness, meaning the person is not at home. When apprehending a suspect, one must first have strong energy on their own side before they can bring the person in. If the "World Line" meets the旬空 (decade emptiness) or is broken by the month, it indicates uncertainty on my side, so how can I bring the person to meet me? If the "Response Line" falls into "empty death," the person has already fled beforehand, and the effort is in vain. If there is no "Parents" in the hexagram, the official document will certainly be ineffective, and the case files cannot be retrieved; if there is no "Official Ghost," the matter will certainly not be completed, and the person cannot be brought in. "Parents" are the useful god for documents; whenever there is a need to retrieve case files, the "Parents" line must be prosperous and strong, and it must support the "World Line" and harmonize with it, then the case files can be retrieved immediately. If the "Parents" line falls into "empty death," enters a tomb, or does not appear in the hexagram, the documents will inevitably be moved, replaced, lost, or hidden, making it difficult to proceed. Officials use the "Official Ghost" as their useful god; when divining the apprehension of a suspect, the "Official Ghost" must have strength, and the person will be easier to catch. If the "Official Ghost" falls into emptiness or enters a tomb, or does not appear in the hexagram, it means there is no official in charge, and even if they go to apprehend, how can they bring the person in?

相合之爻，無心可見。相沖之卦，對面難從。如六爻相生相合，猶如夙緣不期而會，財清和順，若逢暗動六沖，卻似捕風捉影，何處追尋？玄武伐身，書吏起奸心之弊。勾陳克應，捕差全弩力之功。玄武乃奸狡之神，若持世克世者，必然是猾吏權書隱情作弊索詐錢財而已。勾陳乃拘攝之役，若克應者，則當事者，有操謀努力得獲全功矣！

When lines of a hexagram combine with each other, they may meet by chance; when a hexagram meets its opposite, even face to face, it cannot be held. If the six lines support and harmonize with each other, it is like having a past karmic connection, meeting without prior arrangement, and the matter will be clear and smooth. But if there is covert movement or the Six Clashes, it is like grasping at shadows, with nothing to hold on to. When the Black Tortoise harms the hexagram body, it indicates that the clerk has malicious intentions and is involved in wrongdoing. When the Gou Chen harms the response line, it means that the officer is willing to exert full effort and can achieve success. The Black Tortoise is the god of cunning and deceit; if it holds the present line or harms it, it certainly indicates that corrupt officials and power-hungry clerks are concealing the truth and cheating, always demanding money. Gou Chen represents the task of arrest; if it harms the response line, then the person handling this case has his own plan and is willing to put in effort, ultimately achieving great success.

官傷應兮世傷他，網中之物。動克身而應克世，野外之禽。世為我，應為彼，勾攝公事，又以官為捕役，應為彼人，若卦中鬼克應，如釜中之肉、網中之魚，手到拿來。倘逢動克世應克世者，如窮巖猛獸，喬木流鵝射獵未得、及防拒捕也。但決從違，惟憑生克。但看卦中旺衰生克而行，我強他弱，畢竟相從如過。應旺世衰，公然違拒，難以了結。

If the "Official Ghost" overcomes the "Response Line," it is like meat in a pot or a fish in a net, easily captured. However, if the moving line overcomes the "World Line" and the "Response Line" overcomes the "World Line," it is like a fierce beast in a deep ravine or a bird in a tall tree, difficult to hunt, and one must also be cautious of resistance. Whether the other party is obedient or resistant can be judged by the generation and overcoming relationships. By observing the strength and weakness of the lines and their interactions, if I am strong and he is weak, he will eventually comply. If the "Response Line" is strong and the "World Line" is weak, he will openly resist, and the case will not be resolved easily.

（以子孫為主，身世為憑。）滅號回關，最喜文書陷絕。停詞塌訟，大宜福德興隆。父母職專文書，凡欲停詞歇案，獨要父母空絕，則可以寢閣矣！子孫能以制鬼，若旺相發動，則官無力在意謀為停塌也。

鬼動文搖，訟息有重興之日。官動則事多變更，父發則文牒紛紜，官父並興，詞案雖在隱息，不久重新興發。官空父絕，關回無再舉之時。官空無主，父絕無文。官父兩空或絕，則上下無力一應文書，皆以休息矣！

An empty Official Ghost means there is no official in charge, and a declining Parents indicates no official documents or evidence. If both lines are empty or both in decline, then neither above nor below will have the strength to proceed, and all official correspondence will come to a halt.

日克官爻，此非易解。鬼傷世象，其禍難推。若日辰克鬼，乃是凶爻受制，百凡事務，則冰消瓦解矣！若鬼爻克世者，此為官來伐我，必有刑傷大禍，忌之！兄興生子斷為祥，無子有財遭破費。子孫為和解之神，又得兄弟無神發而生助，此為轉禍為福，習無大害。若卦無子孫，是無勸解之人，反有財爻出見，兄必克財，必然事事諮趄破財費力耳。

The day branch overcomes the official ghost, meaning this lawsuit, although difficult to resolve, can still be settled. If the official ghost overcomes the world line, the misfortune will be hard to estimate. If wealth appears instead, the siblings will surely overcome the wealth, leading to delays and difficulties in all matters, resulting in wasted money and effort.

財動助官推作禍，無官有父反消除。占詞最忌者，官興財動。六爻之內官爻雖靜，若逢財動，必然助鬼興災倡禍靡所不至。官鬼縱絕，財爻一動，名曰絕處逢生，為非不小。卦中無鬼、或鬼空有父爻，財能剋制，則文書妥貼禍患消除矣！子動清安，變出官爻詞不息。官興撩亂，化成福德訟能消。子動是為吉兆，若化官爻，則私慾求安而官不允諾，乃側欲靜而風不寧，正此之謂也。若官鬼發本為不吉，化作子孫，是為轉禍為祥，災禍自然消釋矣！

If the hexagram lacks the 'official ghost' or the 'official ghost' is in an empty state with another 'parents' element present, the power of the 'wife wealth' element is restrained by the 'parents' element, leading to proper documents and elimination of misfortune. The movement of the 'children' element usually indicates peace and safety, but if it transforms into the 'official ghost', lawsuits cannot be stopped. The movement of the 'official ghost' usually indicates disturbance, but if it transforms into the 'children' element (fortune and virtue), the lawsuit can be resolved. The movement of the 'children' element is a good omen, but if it transforms into the official element, it signifies one's desire for peace while the authorities do not comply, as the saying goes, 'the tree wishes to be still, but the wind will not stop'. If the 'official ghost' element moves and is originally unfavorable, but transforms into the 'children' element, it signifies turning misfortune into good fortune, and the disaster naturally dissipates.

但占何日關來，便察父臨旺處。凡卜何折訟發，還尋鬼值生方。欲識文書可到，但看父臨生旺之日是也。如卦無父母，又看父爻值日，關來要占訟禍之發，惟查鬼值生旺為期，遠推年月近看日時方不誤。動及兄官，公私未請。空臨世應，原被無辭。如鬼動、兄動、雀動、虎動，官非冗冗接踵而生。那有休文柱卷之時？但得世空、應空、官空，雀空漸漸消薊訟息心安矣！一見六沖，訟當回繳。但逢六合，事反留連。凡卜回關及回呈者，最喜六沖不喜六合。沖則益消訟散，合則事阻文羈。欲推動止之良方，不出陰陽之妙斷。

If "Official Ghost," "Siblings," "Vermilion Bird," and "White Tiger" move, legal troubles will keep coming one after another, with no rest for documents or filing cabinets. As long as "World Line," "Response Line," "Official Ghost," and "Vermilion Bird" are empty, lawsuits will gradually disappear, and people's minds will be at ease. Seeing "Six Clashes" indicates that the lawsuit should be withdrawn. If "Six Harmony" appears, the matter will be delayed instead. For divination regarding withdrawing documents or canceling petitions, "Six Clashes" is preferred over "Six Harmony": clashes resolve disputes, while harmony causes delays and documents to be held up. To determine when to act or stop, it all depends on the subtle judgment of yin and yang and their interactions.

（以了孫為主，世應為憑。）息爭處訟宜安靜，子旺官衰禍必無。凡公私之事，俱求六爻安靜，則彼此允和而無相拒之心矣！若得子孫旺相，官鬼衰休，則官災橫禍盡皆消釋矣！世應相生奸計少，主實相剋變心多。如我世彼應相生相合，則兩相和順，是非潛解。若世應相剋者，則彼此奸猾多生機竅禍，豈易寧乎？

If my "World Line" and the other party's "Response Line" are supportive and harmonious, both sides will be harmonious, and disputes will be resolved secretly. However, if the "World Line" and "Response Line" are mutually restraining, both sides will be cunning, with more intentions to cause trouble and disasters, making peace difficult to achieve.

六沖之卦詞難息，六合之爻訟易和。凡推求息之卦，但要相合相生，則兩情允協，業冤已釋矣！若事欲求息反得六沖之卦、或鬼暗動者，乃是興發之氣象，焉能寧息哉？鬼發父興多咭聒，世空應陷永無幸。若值官鬼發動，父母兄弟興隆，乃為官府搔擾文牒催搖，倘得世應俱空，則彼此於休公私復矣！

When a hexagram encounters the "Six Clashes," lawsuits are difficult to resolve; when a line encounters the "Six Harmony," disputes are more likely to be settled. In general, when predicting a resolution, if the two lines are compatible and mutually supportive, and both parties are in harmony, old grievances will be resolved. If the "World Line" is empty and the "Response Line" is trapped in emptiness, disputes will never be resolved. If the "Official Ghost" line is active and both the "Parents" and "Siblings" lines are strong, this suggests that the authorities will interfere and official documents will be sent. If both the "World" and "Response" lines are empty, both parties will stop their disputes, and matters, whether public or private, will be settled.

間如發動傍人阻，兄若交重物費多。卦中兩間爻，乃為中證之人，若是發動，必然搖惑阻撓其事。加朱雀，則挑斗是非。加兄弟則詐騙財物。若兄弟不在間爻而發動，亦要破財費力耳。福化鬼爻憂再舉，鬼之子象漸消磨。子變為官，事恐復發。鬼化作子，訟以全消。

（解審以官鬼為主，招詳以父母為憑。）但問招詳，須看文書強與弱。如占解審，定推官鬼克和生。若問解審招詳之事，專以父作文移官為用象，參推旺衰可知允駁。細察克生，便知凶吉。

Further, by examining the relationships of generation and overcoming, one can understand the fortune and misfortune.

鬼爻不動不空，上合下心依此斷。父象不沖不發，官同民意照其詳。官爻安靜又不落空，則官體民情民依官斷。若文書不遇日沖月破旬空，又得安靜，則招安供明上憐下順。內外六沖，決然駁問。父官兩動，必不允情。卦值六沖，諸事難成，豈得公文俯就，故曰決然駁問。父母為文書，官鬼為問官，欠動則移文改稿，官興則訊鞫施為。

If both the inner and outer trigrams meet the 'Six Clashes', the case must be rejected and re-examined. If both the 'Parents' and 'Official Ghost' lines are active, the decision will certainly not be approved. If the trigram is in the 'Six Clashes', all matters will fail, and the official document will not be approved, so it is certain that the case will be rejected. The 'Parents' represents the document, and the 'Official Ghost' represents the official in charge of the case: if the document moves, it must be transferred and revised; if the official line becomes strong, the case must be reviewed and punishment applied.

六爻皆靜當依凝，世應同搖定改更，父值青龍，詳言有美。文臨白虎，批語加刑。但得六爻不動不沖，凡事妥當文書依允矣！若世應同發，彼此皆有更變之心，故經云：世應俱發動必然有改張。文書若遇青龍，招詳中此有美慰之旬。若值白虎，駁示內多加險惡之言。
