（以世應為主，財福為憑。）覓館招賢怕世空。應空豈得遇東翁，父空書館終非美，才陷修儀甚不豐，世應不空須有望，變成沖散定無終，無官之卦休尋訪，無館之年為六沖。凡圖書館，世為自己，應為東家，父為書館，子為書生，財為束脩，鬼為薦館之人，兄乃同胞之士。

The rhyme says: when seeking a position as a tutor, if the World Line falls into emptiness, it is feared; if the Response Line falls into emptiness, one cannot meet a good employer; if the Parents fall into emptiness, this place for teaching will not be good; if the Wealth Line falls into emptiness, the tuition will not be generous; only when both the World and Response Lines are not empty can there be hope; once a clash appears, the matter will end without a beginning; if the divination does not contain "Official Ghost," there is no need to seek; if one does not find a position throughout the year, it is because the hexagram indicates the Six Clashes. When seeking a position as a tutor, the World Line represents oneself, the Response Line represents the employer, the Parents represent the place of teaching, the Children represent the students, the Wealth represents the tuition, and the Official Ghost represents the person who recommends the position. The Brothers represent other scholars competing for the position.

世空不遇尊從，應空無東納。父空難逢美館，財空修體輕微。子空門弟不多，鬼空無人舉薦，兄空無人搶奪，身空居處不安，諸空稍可推，得世應不空終須有望。凡值六沖之卦或無官鬼定無館也。如合處逢沖或變出六沖，雖見成就，其年定主不終。

The World Line falls empty, indicating a lack of people who respect oneself; the Response Line falls empty, meaning no one is willing to take one in; the Parents fall empty, making it hard to find a good position; the Wealth Line falls empty, resulting in meager income; the Children fall empty, meaning few students; the Official Ghost falls empty, implying no recommendations; the Siblings fall empty, meaning no one will compete for one's position; the Hexagram Body falls empty, leading to an unstable living situation. All these instances of falling empty can still be considered, as long as both the World and Response Lines remain occupied, there is still hope. If a hexagram indicates six clashes or if there is no Official Ghost within the hexagram, one will certainly not secure a position. If the original hexagram isSix Harmony but is later affected by a clash or transforms into a hexagram of six clashes, although one may succeed temporarily, one will certainly not be able to maintain the position throughout the year.

游魂遷改它圖吉，歸魂乃舊勝西東，那日扶持生合世，便教賓主兩相逢。問遷更、游魂大利，占守舊，反要歸魂，要知那日成關，還詳父母。卦中無父，但逢值日方在。如有父爻旺，求墓合之時。衰取旺生之日，又看何日生世、空世亦可成關。

The rhyme says: When a hexagram meets the floating soul, seeking another place is auspicious; when a hexagram meets the returning soul, staying in the old place is better than moving around. On the day when a line supports, generates, and harmonizes with the world line, the host and guest can meet. For those changing to a new place, the floating soul hexagram is highly favorable; for those staying in the old place, the returning soul hexagram is needed. To know on which day the matter will be settled, one must carefully examine the parents' line. If the hexagram lacks the parents' line, then the day when the parents' branch is in charge will determine it. If the parents' line is prosperous and strong, then the day when it enters its tomb or meets its match is favorable. If the parents' line is weak, then take the day when it is generated and strong. Also, look for the day that generates the world line. The day when the world line emerges from emptiness can also lead to success.

（以父母為主，世應為憑。）習學修文就館中，相資卻興寓居同，父宜旺相身宜旺，世莫空亡應莫空，鬼忌動興財忌動，貞嫌沖破悔嫌沖。凡占就彼相資附學寓居同斷，皆要文書旺相，不宜世應空亡。世空身有阻，縱去無功。應空，彼不容，縱容無益。父若空亡，經書虛費。財動恐傷文書。鬼動倘招災禍。卦值六沖，決難諧就。如合處逢沖及變出沖者，始雖相得，後必改更。

This chapter focuses on the "Parents" line, using the World and Response lines as a reference. The rhyme says: when someone goes to live in someone else's home to study or write, relying on their support or staying there, the method of interpretation is the same. The "Parents" line should be prosperous and strong, and the hexagram body should also be strong. The World line should not fall into emptiness, and the Response line should not fall into emptiness. The Official Ghost line should be avoided from being active, and the Wealth line should also be avoided from being active. The inner trigram "Zhen" is disliked if it is broken, and the outer trigram "Hui" is also disliked if it is broken. Whenever one divines about seeking support from others, attending school, or staying temporarily, the same principle applies: the "Documents" line, which represents the Parents, should be prosperous and strong, and the World and Response lines should not fall into emptiness. If the World line falls into emptiness, there will be obstacles, and even if one goes, there will be no result. If the Response line falls into emptiness, the other party will not accept, and even if they do, there will be no benefit. If the Parents line falls into emptiness, studying will be in vain. If the Wealth line becomes active, it may harm the Documents line. If the Official Ghost line becomes active, it may bring disaster. If the hexagram is of the Six Clashes, it is certain that the matter will not succeed. If originally it is of the Six Harmony but encounters a clash along the way, or if the change leads to a clash, although they may get along at first, they will eventually change.

無官來往皆難就，無父經書盡沒功。一卦無官，不能成就。六爻無父，枉費勤勞。更論乾坤離卦體，三中得一妙無窮，六爻安靜無繞舌，一卦游魂不始終。常人寓處不論卦名，財動父空俱不足論，只忌六沖、鬼動、世應空亡，惟有書館如前繼。又取卦名方知有益無益、或內或外，干與坤離得逢一象者，文添錦繡。若六爻安靜，並無閒擾來幹，卦見游魂，心常改變。

The rhyme says: If the hexagram lacks the "Official Ghost," then coming and going will not lead to success; if there is no "Parents," then studying will be of no use. In one hexagram, if there is no Official Ghost, the matter cannot be completed; in six lines, if there is no Parents, hard work will be in vain. The rhyme also says: Now consider the hexagrams of Heaven, Earth, and Fire. If one of these three is present, it will bring great benefit. If the six lines are quiet, there will be no idle talk; if the hexagram is in a wandering state, it will have a beginning but no end. If a common person is staying temporarily, there is no need to consider the hexagram name. If the wealth line is active or the Parents line is empty, these do not need to be considered. Only the Six Clashes, active ghosts, and empty World and Response lines should be avoided. However, in a place for studying, the previous statements should be used for judgment. Then take the hexagram name into account to determine whether it is beneficial or not. If the inner or outer trigram contains the image of Heaven, Earth, or Fire, the writing will be more splendid. If the six lines are quiet, there will be no disturbances; if the hexagram shows a wandering state, people's minds will often change.

應克用爻休寓此，外生內象卻亨通。世為本家，應為別宅，又以內卦為本方，外卦為他處。凡卜相資附學，不可不辨用爻。若問兒孫，子為空象。如占自己，當看世爻。用受應爻或外卦來克，必被欺凌。如來生合用爻，大得維持之力。

The song says: If the response line overcomes the useful god, then one should not rely on this household; if the outer trigram generates the inner trigram, it will be smooth and prosperous. The world line represents one's own household, while the response line represents another's household. The inner trigram represents one's own side, and the outer trigram represents elsewhere. When divining about seeking shelter or joining someone else's school, it is essential to first identify the useful god. If the question is about children, then the 'children' line is taken as the symbol; if the question is about oneself, then the world line should be examined. If the useful god is overcome by the response line or the outer trigram, it indicates being oppressed by others; if the response line or outer trigram generates and harmonizes with the useful god, then one will receive strong support from the other side.

雀臨兄動閒非起，武帶官搖盜賊逢，白虎居官災病染，青龍值父顯光榮。附學寓居，最嫌官鬼，靜則無咎，動則生憂。臨朱雀必有閒非，化兄弟反當欺詐，兄臨雀動亦然。鬼加玄武之爻，須防失脫。逢白虎，憂染災屯。遇騰蛇多驚多怪。見勾陳，須防跌蹼，作事遲疑推阻。

The rhyme says: "When the Vermilion Bird is on the siblings'爻 and moves, idle disputes arise; when the Black Tortoise carries the official ghost and moves, one meets thieves; when the White Tiger is on the official ghost, illness is likely; when the Azure Dragon is on the parents'爻, it signifies honor and glory. Those who are dependent or living in another's home most fear the official ghost: if the official ghost is still, there is no fault, but once it moves, trouble arises. If the official ghost is with the Vermilion Bird, there will certainly be idle disputes; if the official ghost transforms into siblings, one will be deceived by others, and if siblings carry the Vermilion Bird and move, it is the same. If the ghost爻 is with the Black Tortoise, one must beware of losing property; if the ghost爻 meets the White Tiger, one should worry about illness; if it meets theTeng Snake, there will be many strange events; if it meets the Gou Chen, one must beware of falling and encountering obstacles in doing things."

青龍當分生克，生世則文中顯貴，克世則喜處生悲，不惟青龍一獸，但若官動克世，又有五行金鬼來傷，恐被刀傷斧割。木官來克，克須防梁折樓塌。水憂上漏下漏。土愁壁垣傾。火防回祿。巳恐蛇傷。鬼爻不動克世，皆不言他。復推財帶咸池，休貪美色，助鬼傷身亦然。惟有父值青龍，文增光彩也。

The Azure Dragon must be distinguished as either beneficial or harmful: if the Azure Dragon generates the World Line, it indicates prestige in writings; if the Azure Dragon overcomes the World Line, joy may turn to sorrow. Not only the Azure Dragon follows this principle, but also any Official Ghost that acts to overcome the World Line should be analyzed according to the Five Phases: a Metal Ghost causes fear of injury by knives or axes; a Wood Ghost warns of collapsing beams or buildings; a Water Ghost suggests worries about leaks and dampness; a Earth Ghost indicates concern about collapsing walls; a Fire Ghost warns of fire hazards; and a Ghost in the Snake position suggests fear of snake bites. If the Ghost爻 does not act or overcome the World Line, these concerns are not necessary. Furthermore, if the Wealth爻 is accompanied by the Salty Pool, one should avoid indulgence in beauty; if the Hostile God supports the Official Ghost and harms the World Line, one should also be cautious. Only when the Parents爻 is associated with the Azure Dragon does it signify an enhancement of literary achievement.

（以文書為主，官鬼為憑。）懦童進學兼科甲，獨忌文書空與傷，有父無官還及第，有官無父豈為良。凡占進學併科甲，取父母為用爻，如臨旺相，必占高魁，縱值休囚，若得變爻或日月生扶，亦當進取。倘若父值旬空月破之鄉，名難登榜。又論未試之龍，及試後在彌未及閱錄之先占者，雖憑父母，又重官爻，尤忌子孫發動。閱卷之後將出案時，惟恐父母不用官爻卦中有父無官也，須得第卦內有官無父，未得崢嶸。

This chapter focuses on the "Documents" (parents' line) as the main element, and "Official Ghost" (official line) as the reference. The rhyme says: For a young scholar preparing to enter school or take the imperial examination, the only thing to be wary of is the "Documents" line falling into emptiness or being harmed. If there are parents but no official line, one can still pass the exam; if there are officials but no parents, it is not favorable. When predicting success in the examination, the parents' line is taken as the useful god. If the parents' line is in a prosperous and strong state, one will certainly achieve high rank; even if it is in a weak and confined state, as long as it is supported by the changing line or the day branch and month builder, there will still be progress. If the parents' line falls into the area of the旬空 (decade emptiness) or月破 (month breaker), it will be difficult to pass the examination. Furthermore, when predicting before the examination, or after the examination but before the papers are graded, although the parents' line is still important, the official line is also emphasized, especially when the children's line is active. When the grading is completed and the results are about to be announced, one should be cautious about relying solely on the parents' line without using the official line: if the卦 (chart) has parents but no official line, one can still pass; if the卦 has official line but no parents, one will not be successful.

鬼興助印名書榜，財動傷文空返鄉，官值世爻財靜旺，父臨月建定幫糧。凡占懦業，父作文章鬼興生父，似時雨滋苗，財動傷文如秋霜殺草。若得官爻持世、或值太歲日辰財又旺而不動，卦無兄弟交重，父母再居旺地，考占優等幫補馳名。官父縱然旺相又遭兄動財空，雖居首等未得幫糧。

The rhyme says: If the official ghost is prosperous and strong, it will support the official seal and parents, and the name will be written on the golden list; if the wealth line moves and harms the documents, one can only return home empty-handed; if the official line is on the world line and the wealth line is quiet and strong, and the parents are on the month builder, one will certainly receive the廪膳 subsidy. In divination about scholarly pursuits, the parents represent the writings; if the official ghost is prosperous and supports the parents, it is like timely rain nourishing the crops; if the wealth line moves and harms the documents, it is like autumn frost destroying all plants. If the official line holds the world line, or the official line is at the year's beginning or the day's branch, and the wealth line is strong but still quiet, with no siblings moving heavily in the hexagram, and the parents are in a prosperous position, then the examination result will be among the top, receiving the廪补 and gaining widespread fame. Even if the official line and parents are prosperous, but they are affected by siblings moving and the wealth line is empty, although one may be listed first, the廪 grain subsidy will not be obtained.

若還中後占廷試，方取官文二位強，財子靜安無阻滯，兄爻獨發未能昌。凡占鄉試、會試，先察文書，次推官鬼。如卜殿試及考入翰林，先看官爻，次評父母，故此官文二象，皆要興隆。若值空亡，未能高顯。大忌子搖，次嫌財動。兄爻獨發，定見阻撓。兄鬼同興，不須畏忌。

The song says: If one divines after having passed an examination, it is best for both the official ghost and the document official to be strong; if the wealth爻 and children爻 are quiet, there will be no obstacles; but if the siblings爻 alone moves, success will be difficult. When divining for the local examination or the metropolitan examination, first examine the document official, then consider the official ghost; but when divining for the palace examination or selecting candidates for the Hanlin Academy, first look at the official爻, then evaluate the parents. Therefore, both the official and document officials should be prosperous; if they fall into the empty period, they cannot achieve high status. The most dangerous is the children爻 moving, next is the wealth爻 moving. If the siblings爻 alone moves, there will certainly be obstacles; but if both the siblings and official ghost move together, the official can control the siblings, so there is no need to fear.

卦如無父無官鬼伏出其爻吉祥，日月若臨官印者，福財縱動也無防。文書、官鬼皆是用爻，卦中缺一須看伏神。伏若再傷，又評日月。如有此爻，定然昌吉。日值文書何憂財動，月臨官鬼誰怕子興。卦內父官有氣又逢福財，白虎皆搖身雖榮貴，即便無憂。

The rhyme says: If the hexagram lacks parents and officials, as long as these two lines are revealed in the hidden god, it is auspicious. If the day branch or month builder is on the official or "imperial robe" parent, even if the fortune virtue children and wealth lines are active, there is no harm. Documents and officials are both useful gods. If one is missing in the hexagram, look at the hidden god; if the hidden god is also injured, then evaluate the day and month. As long as these two lines are present in the day and month, it will certainly be prosperous and auspicious. If the day branch is on the documents, why worry about wealth movement? If the month builder is on the official, who fears the children rising? If the parents and officials have strength within the hexagram, even if children, wealth, and white tiger all move together, the person will still be honored and prosperous, without worry.

（以官爻為主，世象為憑。）官職升遷子莫剛，唯求官鬼動為良，值生值旺當遷轉。臨陷臨空且守常。鬼化子字憂調降，官連財位沐恩光。凡占升遷，須評官鬼，子乃忌神，不宜發動，官為主象，最利交重，若臨生旺，定主高陛。如值空亡，未能遷轉。官化子孫，非降即調，卦中財子動亦然。若還財子同興轉助官爻，又不降調，官若化財平陛品級，官化進氣官爻，又主重超美職。

This chapter focuses on the "Official Ghost" line, using the "World" line as a reference. The mnemonic says: when predicting promotion in official position, the "Children" line should not be strong; only the movement of the "Official Ghost" line is favorable. If the "Official Ghost" line is born and strong, there will be promotion; if it is in decline or empty, one should temporarily stay in the current position. If the "Official Ghost" line transforms into the "Children" line, there is worry about being transferred or demoted. If the "Official" line is connected with the "Wealth" line, one will receive favor. When predicting promotion, one must assess the "Official Ghost" line: the "Children" line is a hostile force and should not be active; the "Official Ghost" line is the main symbol, and its movement is most favorable. If the "Official Ghost" line is in a favorable and strong position, it definitely indicates promotion; if it is in an empty position, there will be no promotion. If the "Official" line transforms into the "Children" line, it means either demotion or transfer. If both the "Wealth" and "Children" lines are active in the hexagram, the "Wealth" line can support the "Official" line, thus avoiding demotion. If the "Official" line transforms into the "Wealth" line, it indicates a lateral promotion. If the "Official" line transforms into an "Official" line with increasing energy, it indicates promotion across multiple levels to a good position.

財之福象加爵祿，妻變兄爻減俸糧，卦得歸魂還復任，游魂遷轉在他方。妻財為俸祿，財化子孫加銜賜祿，變成兄弟罷俸減糧。若卜歸魂，還當復任，歸魂化歸魂，理應致仕，如遇游魂官又旺者，必陛別省。游魂化游魂，陛後再陛遠處。

The song says: When the wife's wealth changes into the "fortune virtue" and children, it indicates promotion and increased salary; when the wife's wealth transforms into siblings, it means reduction in salary. If the divination shows a returning soul hexagram, it suggests returning to the original position; if it shows a wandering soul hexagram, it indicates being transferred to another place. The wife's wealth represents salary: when wealth transforms into children, it signifies an honor title and increased salary; when wealth changes into siblings, it means suspension of salary and reduction in food allowance. If the hexagram is a returning soul, one should return to the original post; if returning soul transforms into returning soul, it is reasonable to retire. If a wandering soul hexagram is encountered and the official's element is strong, it definitely indicates promotion to another province; if wandering soul transforms into wandering soul, after promotion, there will be further promotion to a more distant place.

世空未得高升任，財動還須佐帝皇，鬼變退神宜致仕，化居墓絕早還鄉。世爻為自身本官，自卜當察世爻，世若空亡未能遷轉。他人代卜，又不取世爻為主，專看官爻，若得財動生官，自然顯達。鬼爻若化退氣或變入墓絕之中，莫望陛遷，遠歸田裡。欲知何月官陛處，遇值逢生喜報祥。欲決何時遷轉，推評官鬼旺衰，旺則高承升在爾，衰則待生旺之期。若六爻無鬼，後查那月臨官，便知遷陛決矣！

The rhyme says: If the World Line falls into emptiness, one cannot rise in rank; if the wealth line is activated, it can still assist the emperor; if the official ghost changes into the Retreating God, it is suitable to retire; if the official ghost transforms into a tomb or a dead end, it is better to return home early. The World Line represents one's current official position, so when one divines for oneself, one should examine the World Line. If the World Line falls into emptiness, one cannot change positions. If someone else divines for you, do not focus on the World Line, but instead look at the official line; if the wealth line is activated and generates the official line, one will naturally achieve success. If the official ghost transforms into a declining force or enters a tomb or dead end, do not expect promotion, but rather return to the countryside. The rhyme also says: To know which month one will be promoted, look at the official line being supported on the day it is active and when good news arrives. To decide when to change positions, assess the strength and weakness of the official ghost: if it is prosperous and strong, promotion is imminent; if it is weak, one must wait until it reaches its prosperous period. If there is no official ghost among the six lines, then check when it "officially holds office" and receives its salary, at that time, the decision for promotion can be made.

（以官爻為主，世象為憑。）動業贊皇猷，鷹揚渭水；簪纓繩租武，虎拜楓宸。大凡襲爵承官，皆沐君恩祖陰，欲識利名顯晦，遠憑卦象推詳。獻策請纓，父象要興財忌動。從戎比試，世爻喜旺應宜衰。獻策論者，專看文書，父旺必然高中，父空，豈得成名？父若不空又嫌財動。若交鋒者，又憑世應，世旺應衰他必弱，世衰應旺彼當強。世克應則大勝，應克世則難贏。

This chapter focuses on the "Official Ghost" line, using the "World Line" as a reference. The original text says: establishing achievements and contributing to the Way of the King is like Jiang Taigong raising his banner by the Wei River; continuing the family's military glory generation after generation is like ministers bowing before the Feng Chen Hall. In general, inheriting titles and positions is due to the grace of the monarch and the blessings of ancestors; to know whether fame, status, wealth, and honor are prominent or hidden, one must consult the divination chart. The original text also says: when submitting proposals or volunteering for military service, the "Parents" line should be strong and prosperous, while the "Wealth" line should not be active; when joining the army for competition, the "World Line" prefers to be strong and prosperous, and the "Response Line" should be weak. For those submitting proposals and discussing matters, focus on the document line: if the "Parents" line is strong and prosperous, success is certain; if the "Parents" line is empty, how can one achieve fame? Even if the "Parents" line is not empty, one should be wary of the "Wealth" line being active. If engaging in combat or competition, rely on the "World" and "Response" lines: if the "World" line is strong and the "Response" line is weak, the opponent is weak; if the "World" line is weak and the "Response" line is strong, the opponent is strong; if the "World" line overcomes the "Response" line, there will be a great victory; if the "Response" line overcomes the "World" line, it will be difficult to win.

受廕襲封，喜遇貴乘祿馬。買官進爵，恢逢龍聚財官。所忌者六沖世陷空徒費力，所喜者六合官興財旺總如心。軍中占襲職，民間卜官，各忌世空官空、六沖之卦，若得官與世旺，定顯威風。官爻或世爻若帶青龍貴人、及卦逢六合，威福更加。鬼在酉申，耀武揚威膺世祿。官臨乾兌，攘夷發夏樹奇功。官爻或世爻如臨乾兌卦中，或在酉申爻內，俱當名振華夷。

Those who inherit their ancestors' titles and positions prefer to encounter the "Nobleman" riding on "Wealth" and "Horse"; those who buy official positions with money prefer to meet the "Azure Dragon" gathering the "Wealth Line" and "Official Line". What they should avoid is the卦 encountering Six Clashes and the World Line falling into emptiness, which results in wasted effort; what they prefer is the卦 encountering Six Harmony, the Official Line being strong, and the Wealth Line also strong, leading to everything going smoothly. In military divination regarding the inheritance of positions, and in civilian divination regarding seeking official positions, it is also forbidden for the World Line or the Official Line to fall into emptiness or for the卦 to encounter Six Clashes; if both the Official Line and the World Line are strong, they will certainly display great authority. If the Official Line or the World Line carries the "Azure Dragon" or the "Nobleman", and the卦 encounters Six Harmony, their prestige and fortune will increase even more. The text also says: the "Ghost Line" located in You or Shen indicates displaying military might and inheriting ancestral salaries; the Official Line encountering the Qian Trigram or the Dui Trigram indicates repelling foreign enemies and reviving the Han ethnicity to establish extraordinary achievements. If the Official Line or the World Line is located within the Qian or Dui Trigrams, or falls on the You or Shen lines, they will certainly become famous throughout the Han ethnicity and the four barbarian regions.

內外卦得興隆，則功高譽遠。身世爻當衰弱，則力怯機疏。世旺逢生，勇冠三軍蒙上賞，官興得助爵尊一品沐殊恩。世逢日月克沖，戈戟最為下輩。身遇歲君生合，戰征場內作高魁。武職行中，若得內卦外卦興隆，世爻應爻旺相，定然勢壓旁疆。世旺再逢太歲，或日辰月建生扶者，勇冠三軍。世若休囚，卦不旺相，當推無力無能。又被日辰月建沖剋世爻者，提拔全無，反遭彈劾，豈得馳名于軍伍？其中又看官爻，旺則聲名顯赫，空則劾削兵權。

If both inner and outer trigrams are prosperous, then achievements are great and reputation far-reaching; if the world line and hexagram body are weak, then strength is lacking and strategies are shallow. If the world line is prosperous and receives support, then one will be the bravest among the army and receive high rewards; if the official line is prosperous and receives support, then one will attain the highest rank and be honored with special favors. If the world line is clashed and controlled by the day branch and month builder, then one is only a low-ranking soldier with a spear and shield; if the hexagram body is supported and harmonized by the heavenly stem, then one becomes a top-ranking hero on the battlefield. For military positions, if both inner and outer trigrams are prosperous, and the world line and response line are strong, then one's influence will surpass neighboring regions. If the world line is strong and meets the heavenly stem, or receives support from the day branch and month builder, then one will be the bravest in the army. If the world line is weak and the hexagram is not strong, then one should be judged as powerless and incapable; if the day branch and month builder clash with the world line, then one will receive no promotion and instead be impeached, and cannot gain fame in the military. It is also necessary to examine the official line: if the official line is strong, then reputation is prominent; if the official line is empty, then one will be impeached and lose military power.

世帶青龍，名馳朝野。官居白虎，威振華夷。青龍為大貴之星，白虎乃兵權之煞，此二獸若得臨世臨官，定主威揚海內。子動傷官，難遂參謀之策。財興助鬼，能成贊盡之功。鬼變福鄉循降調，官之財地漸陛遷。鬼為官職，最嫌子動來傷，偏喜財興助鬼，官變子孫，非降即調。鬼之財象，迭迭高遷也。玩占易理玄微，可決戎官之休咎。

The world line carries the "Azure Dragon," bringing fame throughout the court and the countryside; the official line occupying the "White Tiger" brings authority that shakes both Chinese and foreign lands. The Azure Dragon is a great noble star, while the White Tiger is a malevolent star associated with military power. If these two divine creatures appear on the world line or the official line, they certainly indicate widespread renown. The text also states that when the children line becomes active and harms the official line, advisors' strategies will not be realized; when the wealth line is prosperous and supports the official line, it can achieve auxiliary and supportive achievements. If the official line transforms into the "Fortune Virtue" and the children line's territory, by rule it should result in a demotion and transfer. If the official line transforms into the wealth line's territory, then gradual promotion follows. The official line represents official position, which most dislikes the children line becoming active to harm it, but prefers the wealth line to be prosperous and supportive. When the official line transforms into the children line, it is either a demotion or a transfer; when the official line transforms into a wealth image, it leads to step-by-step promotion. Careful examination of these divination judgments reveals the subtle principles of the Book of Changes, sufficient to determine the good fortune or misfortune of military officials.

（以官爻為主，財象為憑。）買官納吏選陰陽，僧道醫官共審詳，世值旬空非久遠，福神靜旺永無殃。援監納吏並一應奉例納銀求官者，皆把世爻與官爻為主，俱不宜空。空則不成，縱成不久。子孫雖為福德，亦不可動，動則傷官。又不可無，無則少利。身世之爻，若被鬼來沖剋，反受其殃。如得鬼爻持世，再加財動來生，決主名成利就。

This chapter focuses on the "Official Ghost"爻 as the main element, using the "Wealth" image as a reference. The rhyme says: matters such as paying money to buy an official position, paying silver to supplement an official post, and selecting officials based on yin and yang, including Buddhist officials, Taoist officials, and medical officials, should all be examined together. If the "World Line"爻 is in the旬空, the position will not last long. If the "Fortune Virtue" and "Children"爻 are quiet and strong, there will be no calamity forever. For all cases such as donating to become a monitor student, paying to supplement an official post, and any other cases where silver is paid to obtain an official position according to regulations, the "World Line"爻 and "Official"爻 should be the main focus. Both should not be in the旬空; if they are, the matter will not succeed, and even if it does, it will not last long. Although "Children" are the gods of fortune and virtue, they should not be activated at this time, as their activation would harm the "Official"爻; however, they should not be absent either, as their absence would result in little gain. If the "World Line"爻 is attacked and controlled by the "Ghost"爻, it will bring disaster instead. If the "Ghost"爻 holds the "World Line" and the "Wealth"爻 is activated to generate, it will definitely lead to success in both name and profit.

鬼克身爻遭責罰，財生世象必榮昌，夫化子孫難出仕，妻之兄弟利源傷。身世之爻。若被鬼來沖剋，反受其殃。如得鬼爻持世，再加財動來生，決主名成利就。官爻若化子孫，又難出仕。妻財如變兄弟、或卦中兄爻發動，不惟無所得，反主虧傷。

The rhyme says: If the ghost爻 controls the world line, one will suffer punishment; if the wealth爻 generates the world line, success and prosperity are certain; if the official爻 transforms into children, it is difficult to hold an official position; if the wealth爻 transforms into siblings, the wealth path will suffer loss. Here we further explain the previous meaning: if the world line is attacked and controlled by the ghost爻, it will bring harm instead; if the ghost爻 holds the world line, and the wealth爻 is activated to generate it, then success and profit are certain. If the official爻 transforms into children, it is hard to take up an official post; if the wealth爻 transforms into siblings, or if there is another sibling爻 activated in the hexagram, then not only will there be no gain, but there will be loss and damage.

吏典財官宜旺相，貢生父鬼忌空亡，太學父興官旺處，定顯聲名播四方。僧官、道官、陰陽官、醫官、使典等類，皆宜鬼旺財興。爻中有鬼無財，有名無實。有財無鬼，名利皆虛。又論恩貢、選貢、歲貢、監生等類，雖用官爻，再憑父母，此二象俱不可空，若得父官有氣，定然名播京都。

The rhyme says: For those who seek official positions through donation, the "Wealth" and "Official Ghost" should be prosperous and strong; for those seeking a recommendation for the imperial examination, the "Parents" and "Official Ghost" should avoid being empty; for those entering the Imperial Academy, if the "Parents" are flourishing and the "Official Ghost" is also strong, their fame will certainly spread far and wide. For positions such as Buddhist officials, Taoist officials, Yin-Yang officials, medical officials, and clerks in various offices, it is favorable for the "Official Ghost" to be strong and the "Wealth" to be flourishing. If the hexagram has the "Official Ghost" but no "Wealth," it is empty and without substance; if there is "Wealth" but no "Official Ghost," both fame and profit will be empty. Further, regarding those seeking recommendations through favor, selection, annual examination, or through the Imperial Academy, although they use the "Official Ghost," they also rely on the "Parents." Both these lines should not be empty; if both the "Parents" and "Official Ghost" have strength, their reputation will certainly reach the capital.

（以官爻為主，世象為憑。）官員選缺及吏典參房，皆把官爻及世詳，應動兄興沖剋世，同胞擾阻卻提防。官僚選缺及吏典參房，皆把官爻與世爻為主，此二象內如有一爻犯月破旬空者，官不能得此缺，吏不能參此房。世縱不空，若被應動克世、或兄弟動來克世，必有同袍搶奪，卻要提防兄興，競爭強。

This chapter focuses on the "Official Ghost"爻, using the "World Line"爻 as a reference. The rhyme says: when selecting officials or appointing clerks in the administrative departments, one must carefully examine the "Official Ghost"爻 and the "World Line"爻; if the "Response Line"爻 becomes active and the "Siblings"爻 rises to clash and control the "World Line"爻, one should be cautious of interference from colleagues. For the selection of officials and the appointment of clerks, the "Official Ghost"爻 and the "World Line"爻 are the main factors; if either of these two yao is affected by the "Month Breaker" or "Decade Void," the official will not be appointed to that position, and the clerk will not be able to enter that department. Even if the "World Line"爻 is not in the void, if it is controlled by the active "Response Line"爻 or the active "Siblings"爻, there will certainly be competition from colleagues, so one should be cautious of the flourishing of the "Siblings"爻 and intense competition.

世爻若遇空沖絕，費盡勤勞怎得昌，不遇六沖官有氣，穩膺美秩姓名揚。世若變為絕地、或被日主來沖、或卜六沖之卦，縱去謀為，決難成就。世象不空官爻不陷、應與兄爻縱動、不來克世，所求必逐，並不更張。

The song says: If the World Line meets emptiness, is clashed, or reaches a dead end, despite great efforts, success will be hard to achieve; if it does not meet the Six Clashes and the Official Line is strong, one can steadily obtain a good position and have one's name spread far. If the World Line changes into a dead end, or is clashed by the Day Branch, or the divination results in a Six Clashes hexagram, even if one tries hard to seek, success will certainly be impossible. If the World Line does not fall into emptiness and the Official Line is not weak, even if the Response Line and Siblings Line move, as long as they do not clash with the World Line, the desired outcome will certainly be achieved, and there will be no change along the way.

參房獲利宜財旺，鬼象休來克世方，選缺求名愁福德，隨官入墓恐遭殃。論參房者，與選缺不同，若得官與財旺，定然所得非常。鬼克世身難逃罪貴，論選缺者，亦要官興，最嫌子動，鬼克世身，不須畏忌。但遇隨官入墓，恐罹災患。

The rhyme says: When selecting a position for participation, it is for the purpose of gaining profit, so the wealth hexagram should be prosperous and strong, and the ghost hexagram should not come to harm the sovereign; when choosing an official post, it is for the purpose of seeking fame, so one should worry about the "fortune virtue" and children hexagrams being activated; if one commits "following the official into the tomb," one may suffer misfortune. The discussion on participation differs from that on selecting an official post: for participation, if both the official and wealth hexagrams are prosperous, the reward will certainly be abundant; but if the ghost hexagram harms the sovereign, one may suffer punishment. For selecting an official post, the official hexagram should also be prosperous, and the most disliked is the activation of the children hexagram; as for the ghost hexagram harming the sovereign, when selecting an official post, one does not need to be afraid. However, if one encounters "following the official into the tomb," one may suffer misfortune.

（推薦以官文為主，旌獎以財鬼為憑。）官吏賢能，望憲臺之薦獎；黎民良善，賴邑宰之旌揚。所喜者，鬼旺龍興。所忌者，世空子動。凡占獎薦，各要官爻旺相，青龍得地，大忌世值空亡，子孫發動。臣沐君恩，必得歲君生世。下叨上薦，須求外鬼扶身。卦有二官六部，重推重舉。爻無一鬼三司，不獎不褒。欲求恩寵，須看五爻為天子，太歲為朝廷，此二象內若得一爻生世或生官，便沾天澤天子與朝廷之位。如值空亡，恩先莫望從，不值空如來克世傷官，原不為福。

This chapter discusses recommendations mainly based on "Official Ghost" and "Documents," and rewards based on "Wealth" and "Official Ghost." The original text says: officials who are virtuous look to their superiors for recommendation and commendation; good citizens rely on the county magistrate for recognition and praise. What is favorable is when the Official Ghost is prosperous and strong, and the Azure Dragon is active; what is to be avoided is when the World Line is empty and the Children line is active. When divining about recommendations and commendations, it is essential that the Official line is prosperous and strong, and the Azure Dragon is in a favorable position; most dangerous is when the World Line is in an empty state or the Children line is active. The original text says: a minister who receives the sovereign's grace must have the year's stem nourishing the World Line; a subordinate who receives recommendation from his superior must seek support from the Outer Trigram's Official Ghost for the World Line. If there are two Official lines in the hexagram, there will be multiple recommendations in the six ministries; if there is no Ghost line at all, the three courts will neither commend nor recognize. If one seeks the sovereign's favor, one must look at the Fifth Line representing the Son of Heaven and the Year Stem representing the court; if either of these lines nourishes the World Line or the Official Line, one can receive the heavenly grace. If the positions of the Son of Heaven and the court are in an empty state, one should not expect favor in the first place; even if they are not empty, if they reverse to harm the World Line or damage the Official Line, it is not a blessing.

如占舉薦，專看外卦官爻。外象如無，內官可用，內鬼再空，不須謀望。不論內外，卦中若有官來生身生世，決叨提拔之恩。如得旺官迭見又來生合世爻，必得重重之薦。六爻內如無鬼者，定無推舉之官。推舉得官父旺動，穩望高遷獎勞。若財鬼衰空虛圖給賞。推薦者若得官父兩全，便為佳兆。二中欠一，未得穩成。獎動者雖用官爻，又宜財旺。財鬼如空，定無獎勤給賞之美也。鬼化子爻薦賢未聽。官之財象，獎勵能從。薦與獎，皆以官為主，旺者來速，衰則來遲。動化子孫，雖薦未能聽信。財來助鬼，獎得如心。

If the divination is about recommendation, focus solely on the official line in the outer trigram. If the outer trigram has no official line, the official line in the inner trigram can be used instead; if the inner trigram's ghost line is empty, there is no need to expect further efforts. Regardless of inner or outer trigrams, if there is an official line in the hexagram that generates and harmonizes with the world line, promotion is certain. If prosperous and strong official lines continuously appear and generate and harmonize with the world line, multiple recommendations will certainly be obtained. If there is no ghost line at all in the six lines, there will certainly be no official who is willing to recommend. The original text says: seeking recommendation, if the official line and parents are both strong and active, one can surely expect promotion and commendation. If the wealth line and ghost line are weak and empty, expecting rewards is in vain. For those seeking recommendation, if both official and parent lines are present, it is a good omen; if either is missing, it is not certain. For those seeking commendation, although the official line is also used, the wealth line being strong is more favorable. If the wealth and ghost lines are weak and empty, there will certainly be no rewards for diligence or grants. The original text also says: if the ghost line transforms into children, recommendations of capable people are not heeded by above; if the official line transforms into wealth, the request for reward will be approved. Both recommendation and commendation rely mainly on the official line: a strong official line brings results quickly, while a weak one brings them slowly. If the official line is active and transforms into children, even though a recommendation is made, it will not be trusted. If the wealth line supports the ghost line, commendation can be achieved.

如卜官憑，但原文書逢旺氣。若占到日，遠尋父母遇生方。又附占文憑到日，須看父母之爻，候臨生臨旺之期，此憑決到卦無父，須待父爻值日，方得憑來。父若衰而又空，縱然等候而未至。欲求坊扁方光輝，必藉官爻之旺相。世空絕望。子動難謀，財動還須囑託，鬼空不必祈求，六合則心懷喜悅，六沖則面染憂愁。凡求牌坊扁額光輝門閭，先看官爻，次推世象，二者若有一空，始終絕望。子孫動，亦不能求。財動生官，謀為遂意。如求扎帖，又看文書，反嫌財動。父鬼財空，允能給發。不拘扁貼皆忌六沖。上察官情之喜怒，皆由四象之興衰。下推人事之親疏，不出兩儀之變化。

If the divination is about an official document, one should only look for the "document" parent爻 to be in a prosperous and strong condition. If one wants to know on which day the document will arrive, one should look far away for the direction where the parent爻 is being nourished. Here is an additional explanation about the day the document is received: one must observe the parent爻, waiting until it is in a flourishing and strong condition, and the document will certainly arrive. If the hexagram does not contain the parent爻, one should wait for the day when the branch corresponding to the parent爻 is active, and the document will come by means of literary talent. If the parent爻 is both weak and empty, then even after waiting for a long time, it will not arrive. The text says: if one wishes to seek a royal grant to erect a牌坊 and匾额 to glorify the family, one must rely on the official爻 being prosperous and strong; if the world line爻 is empty, then there is no hope; if the children爻 is activated, it will be difficult to achieve; if the wealth爻 is activated, one still needs to rely on others to intercede; if the ghost爻 is empty, there is no need to pray; if the hexagram meets the Six Harmony, one will be joyful; if the hexagram meets the Six Clashes, one will be full of sorrow. For any request regarding a牌坊 and匾额 to glorify the family, first observe the official爻, then examine the world line爻; if either of them is empty, there is no hope from beginning to end. If the children爻 is activated, it will not be achieved; if the wealth爻 is activated to nourish the official爻, the matter will be fulfilled. If the divination is about a letter or official document, one must then look at the document爻, and actually dislike the activation of the wealth爻. If the parent, official ghost, and wealth爻 are not all empty, the matter can proceed smoothly. Whether it is a匾额 or a letter, one must avoid the hexagram of Six Clashes. Observing the mood of the superior officials depends on the rise and fall of the four爻; judging the closeness of human relationships below also does not go beyond the changes of yin and yang.

（以太歲五爻為主，文書官鬼為憑。）啟奏君王看五爻，生身合命寵應叨，歲君克世龍顏怒，月將生官品爵高。啟奏者須看五爻為天子，太歲為君王，此二者如有一爻生合身世，所奏如心。五爻與太歲如來沖剋身世，恐犯天威，休陳情因。又論官多為本職，不值旬空月破，更得日月生扶者，必然破格超陛。五爻為天子之爻。

This chapter focuses on the Tai Su and the fifth line, using "wen shu" and "guan gui" as references. The rhyme says: to present a petition to the sovereign, look at the fifth line; if the fifth line generates and supports the world line and harmonizes with the birth, then one will receive favor; if the Tai Su controls the world line, it indicates the sovereign's anger. If the month builder generates the official line, then the rank and title will be high. Those presenting petitions should consider the fifth line as representing the Son of Heaven and the Tai Su as representing the sovereign. If either of these lines generates or harmonizes with the world line, the petition will be granted. However, if the fifth line and the Tai Su clash or control the world line, it may offend the heavenly mandate, so one should not present the case. Further, the official line usually represents one's current position; as long as it is not empty for the ten-day period or broken by the month, and is supported by the day branch and month builder, promotion beyond rank is certain. The fifth line is the line representing the Son of Heaven.

進拜表章兼上本，父旺官興御筆標，亦忌六沖財子動，次愁印綬化財爻，更嫌鬼象之為福，父絕官空莫進朝。拜表上本啟奏皆同，若得父旺官興，定蒙准奏。若值六沖，或財搖子動、或父變妻財、或官之福、或父絕官空，以上數端，如犯一節者，莫奏朝廷，縱奏，徒費心機，難迎聖意。

The song says: When submitting petitions and presenting memorials, if the parents are strong and the official signs are active, one will surely receive the emperor's handwritten decree. It is also advisable to avoid the hexagram encountering the Six Clashes or the wealth signs and children signs becoming active. One should also worry about the official signs transforming into wealth signs, or the ghost signs transforming into fortune virtue signs. If the parents are in decline or the official signs are empty, one should not go to court to present a memorial. The method of judging for submitting petitions, memorials, and making requests is the same: if the parents are strong and the official signs are active, the request will surely be approved. If the hexagram is in the Six Clashes, or if the wealth signs or children signs are active, or if the parents transform into wealth signs, or if the official signs transform into children signs, or if the parents are in decline or the official signs are empty—any of these situations should avoid presenting a memorial to the court. Even if one does present a memorial, it will be in vain and not in harmony with the emperor's will.

（以太歲五爻為主，官鬼世象為憑。）面君官旺世無傷，折檻廷諍也不妨，太歲五爻沖剋世，休趨殿陛惹天殃。面君者，先推世象，次察官爻，此二爻如臨旺相，不值空亡，又不受君爻沖剋，在去天天並無玷剝。世爻若被天子之爻沖剋者，朝必遭殃，守靜為上。

The rhyme says: facing the emperor, if the Official Ghost is strong and the World Line is not harmed, it is like Zhu Yun of the Han dynasty who climbed the palace railings to give direct advice in court without harm; if the Tai Su and the Fifth Line clash or control the World Line, one should not go to court, to avoid bringing down heavenly calamity. When dealing with matters concerning the emperor, first examine the image of the World Line, then check the Official Ghost. If these two lines are prosperous and strong, not empty, and not clashed by the line representing the emperor's position, then going to court will not cause any harm. If the World Line is clashed by the line representing the emperor, entering the court will surely bring misfortune, so it is better to remain silent and stay calm.

日辰月建生身吉，克世傷官盡不祥，卦值晉升蒙上寵，爻成屯蹇豈為強。世爻與官爻縱值休囚，得日月或動爻生助、或變出生扶，皆為佳兆，若動爻與日月傷官傷世，俱作凶推，朝王卜得火地晉，晉者以臣遇君之象。又取地風升，升者，進而上也，故此二卦皆吉。若卜水雷屯、水山蹇二卦，皆為難也，遇者必凶。逢沖莫去朝天子，遇合應來奏帝皇，無鬼不能沾雨露，世空豈得受恩光。六沖之象，切莫朝天。六合之爻，理宜面聖。爻雖攢合，卦中無鬼或值空鄉，渥恩莫望。卦縱有官，世居陷地，還嗟運蹇，豈沐天恩。

A rhyme says: If the day branch and month builder generate the world line, it is auspicious; if they overcome the world line and injure the official ghost, it is inauspicious. If the hexagram is "Progress" or "Increase," it indicates receiving the favor of the superior; if the lines form "Obstruction" or "Difficulty," it indicates weakness. Even if the world line and official ghost lines are weak and confined, as long as they are supported by the day branch, month builder, or moving lines, or transformed into supportive lines, it is a good omen. If the moving lines injure the official ghost or the world line, it is considered ominous. When consulting the emperor and the hexagram is "Fire over Earth" (晋), it signifies a minister meeting the sovereign; when the hexagram is "Wind over Water" (升), it signifies continuous advancement. Therefore, these two hexagrams are auspicious. If the hexagram is "Water over Thunder" (屯) or "Water over Mountain" (蹇), they indicate hardship, and the outcome will be inauspicious. The rhyme says: If the hexagram encounters six clashes, one should not go to court; if the hexagram encounters six harmony, it is appropriate to present matters to the emperor. If there is no official ghost in the hexagram, one cannot receive the grace of the sovereign; if the world line is empty, one cannot receive the favor of the superior. The six clashes indicate that one should not go to court. The six harmony indicates that one should go to court. However, even if all lines are combined, if there is no official ghost or the official ghost is in an empty place, one should not expect great favor. Even if there is an official ghost line, if the world line is in an empty place, one can only lament misfortune and cannot receive the grace of heaven.

（以文書為主，官鬼為憑。）欲知紫誥贈何人，卦內還須分六親，父作皇封世作己，官為史部五為君，更將太歲為天子，乾卦當稱帝王尊，君位怕臨空與絕，五爻忌克世和身。凡占誥命，父母為用爻，不絕不空，終須有望。又看世為自己，官為吏部，五爻為天子，太歲為朝廷，皆莫空亡。君位之爻，切莫傷身克世。乾卦又為君王，或內或外得此象者，必受恩封。

The rhyme says: to know who receives this purple诰命, one must identify the six relations within the hexagram. The line representing the sovereign should not fall into emptiness or be in a dead position; the fifth line should not be able to overcome the world line and the hexagram body. When divining about a诰命, take the parents as the useful god; as long as they do not fall into a dead position or emptiness, there is hope. Also, check the world line for oneself, the official line for the Ministry of Personnel, the fifth line for the sovereign, and the heavenly stem for the court; none of these should fall into emptiness. The line representing the sovereign must not harm or overcome the world line and the hexagram body. The Qian trigram also represents the emperor; if the inner or outer trigram has this image, one will certainly receive a royal grant.

君爻生合何爻處，便見天恩賜那人。財象遇生封妻室，子爻逢合蔭兒孫，世身若得君相合，品級加增作大臣。五爻與太歲生合父母，必贈椿萱。生合財爻，必封妻室。生扶福德，當蔭兒孫。生合世身再加官爻旺相，自當品職高陛。

The song says: The line that is generated and harmonized by the ruler's line will indicate which person receives Heavenly Grace. If the wealth line is generated and supported by it, the wife will be honored and granted a title. If the children's line is harmonized with it, the descendants will benefit. If the sovereign line and the body line are harmonized by the ruler's line, the rank will increase and the person will rise to a high official position. If the fifth line harmonizes with the parents' line along with the year stem, the parents will be posthumously honored. If it harmonizes with the wealth line, the wife will be honored and granted a title. If it generates and supports the "Fortune Virtue" and children's line, the descendants will benefit. If it harmonizes with the sovereign line and the body line, and the official line is prosperous and strong, the rank and position will naturally rise.

鬼發父興迎誥命，父空財動絕皇恩，官鬼休囚宜囑託，文書破絕莫勞心，來召來宣同此例，去朝去奏照其因。卦內官父兩旺，定沐洪恩。父若空亡，難迎誥命。妻財獨發，剋制文書，難沾雨露。鬼值休囚，寅綠為美，父臨空絕，枉使機謀。君來宣召，臣去朝天，皆喜君爻生世。官旺為佳，各忌帝位克身，鬼空不吉。

The rhyme says: When the official ghost line is active and the parents line is prosperous and strong, it is possible to receive a royal decree; if the parents line is empty and the wealth line is active, the imperial grace will be cut off; if the official ghost line is weak and confined, it is advisable to rely on others to intercede; if the documents are broken and in a state of decline, there is no need to worry; whether the sovereign calls for a meeting or the subject presents a memorial, it should be judged according to this principle. If both the official and parents lines are strong in the hexagram, it is certain to receive great favor. If the parents line is empty, it will be difficult to receive the royal decree; if the wealth line is alone active and controls the documents, it will not receive the grace of the rain and dew. If the official ghost line is weak and confined, it is better to rely on personal connections; if the parents line is empty and in decline, it is a waste of effort. Whether the sovereign calls or the subject presents a memorial, it is favorable if the sovereign's line supports the world line; the official line being strong is good, but the sovereign's line controlling the world line is unfavorable, and if the official ghost line is empty, it is also not auspicious.

（以文書為主，官鬼為憑。）官印文書宜父動，民修票約忌財興，財臨身世徒書契。周不空亡準此情。凡論文書票約，取父母為用爻，旺則有成，空則無用，財爻為動或值世身空，勞紙筆枉費神思。鬼是元神空不就，財為忌客動難成，父之沖剋真為假，母變生扶卻信憑。卦無官鬼或落空亡，皆主不就。妻爻發動，契必難成。財動官亦動，反能成契。父母若被日月沖破、或化絕化空，此契不能見信於人。父母若遇生扶、或變為有氣，此書縱假而可為真也。

This chapter focuses on the "parents"爻 as the main element for documents, and uses the "official ghost"爻 as a reference. The rhyme says: official ghosts, seals, and official documents are favorable when the parents爻 is active; in private matters such as signing bills or contracts, the wife's wealth爻 should be avoided. If the wealth爻 is on the hexagram body or the world line, writing the contract is in vain; as long as all the yao do not fall into empty branches, we can judge according to this. When dealing with documents and contracts, take the parents爻 as the useful god: if the parents爻 is prosperous and strong, the matter will be successful; if it falls into empty branches, the document is useless. If the wealth爻 is active, or the world line or hexagram body falls into empty branches, it is just a waste of effort and time. The rhyme says: the official ghost is the origin god of the parents, and if it falls into empty branches, the matter will not succeed; the wife's wealth is the hostile god, and if it is active, it is difficult to reach an agreement; if the parents爻 is attacked or restrained, the real becomes false; if the parents爻 is transformed into something that generates and supports, it can be trusted. If there is no official ghost in the hexagram or if the official ghost falls into empty branches, the matter will not succeed. If the wife's wealth爻 is active, the contract will certainly not be successful; but if the wealth爻 is active and the official ghost is also active, wealth generates official ghost, and official ghost generates parents, then the contract can be completed. If the parents爻 is attacked by the day branch or the month builder, or if it is transformed into a dead position or empty branches, the contract cannot be trusted by others; if the parents爻 is supported or becomes strong, even if the document is false, it can be used as true.

（以世應為主，外卦月卦為憑。）外卦原來是用爻，興隆出現得相交，無身無鬼皆非遇，主若傷賓情據拋。凡去謁貴，最嫌外卦空亡，若得外卦出現旺相，人必相逢。如外三爻皆動，定有變更。一二爻動，亦不如此論，又要取卦身與鬼官之爻，如缺一神又不遇也。復看世為主，應為實。又以內為主，外為實。如遇內外世應相生、或比和、或應克世、外克內，皆主相逢得意也。惟獨世克應與內克外，主反觸賓，縱然相見亦不相投。

This chapter focuses on the second and third lines, with the outer trigram and the "month trigram" as reference. The rhyme says: the outer trigram is originally the useful god; if the outer trigram is prosperous and strong, it will be able to associate with the nobleman. If the hexagram lacks the "hexagram body" and "official ghost," it is not considered as meeting. If the host injures the guest, the relationship will naturally be broken. When visiting a nobleman, the most disliked situation is the outer trigram falling into the empty state. If the outer trigram is visible and prosperous, the person will definitely be seen. If all three lines of the outer trigram are activated, the matter will certainly change. If only one or two lines are activated, it is not considered like that. Also, the hexagram body and the official ghost lines must be present; if one is missing, it will not be seen. Now, taking the world line as the host and the response line as the guest, and the inner trigram as our side and the outer trigram as the other side: if the inner and outer trigrams, or the world and response lines, are mutually generating, or harmonious, or if the response line overcomes the world line or the outer trigram overcomes the inner trigram, it indicates a successful meeting. However, if the world line overcomes the response line or the inner trigram overcomes the outer trigram, it means the host is offending the guest, and even if they meet, they will not get along.

世臨空地難成事，應落空亡白費勞。望客喜逢三合卦，見賓怕遇六沖爻。趨謁之事，世應與官鬼皆莫空亡，三者如有一空，決不相得，縱不逢空，若值六沖，決無美意。若得三合六合之卦，自然賓主相諧，若還應象交重，謂人不遇。

A rhyme says: If the World Line falls into an empty place, things will not succeed; if the Response Line falls into an empty place, it will be a wasted effort. If one is hoping for a guest to come, a Triple Harmony hexagram is auspicious; if one wishes to meet an important guest, one should fear a Six Clashes line. For matters of visiting, the World Line, Response Line, and Official Ghost should not fall into an empty place; among these three, if any one falls into an empty place, it is certain that the matter will not succeed. Even if none of them fall into an empty place, if the hexagram indicates a Six Clashes, there will be no good result. If one obtains a Triple Harmony or Six Harmony hexagram, the host and guest will naturally harmonize; but if the Response Line moves and overlaps, it indicates that the person is away and cannot be seen.

如求書貼憂財發，偏宜父母值重交，或去解非並脫訟，子孫爻動禍殃消。若還覓利抽豐者，財官兩旺樂滔滔。但去求文取帖及送書遞柬，不宜父母空亡，更忌妻財發動，如要解詞息訟，反宜官鬼休囚，又怕應來傷世。若遇子孫持世或發動，禍必觸消。如去假公事以濟私情，或抽豐而利己者，須得財官兩旺，切嫌兄弟交重。

A song says: If one goes to obtain documents or letters, one should worry about the wealth line being active, but it is preferable for the parents line to be active and strong; if one goes to resolve disputes or get out of lawsuits, the children line being active will eliminate misfortune; if one goes to seek profit or take advantage of others, with both wealth and official ghost lines strong, joy will be endless. Whenever one seeks documents, receives letters, or delivers messages, it is not suitable for the parents line to be empty or fallen, and it is especially bad for the wealth line to be active. If one wants to resolve lawsuits, it is better for the official ghost line to be weak and confined, but one should fear the response line harming the world line; if the children line holds the world line or becomes active, the troubles will certainly be resolved. If one uses public affairs to achieve private interests, or takes advantage of others for personal gain, then both wealth and official ghost lines should be strong, and it is most disliked for the siblings line to be active and strong.

（以世應為主，內外為憑。）成事須將世應查，世為本主應為他，空沖破絕臨其世，凡去謀為莫起牙，沖破絕空居應位，他心不合枉嗟呀。凡成事體一應謀為，皆取世應為主，或世或應，如臨絕地或犯旬空月破日沖，皆難成就。次將內卦為謀事之人，不宜空破。如臨旺相，定主亨通，再得內克外卦，或內外相生及比和俱為美也。

This chapter focuses on the World Line and Response Line, using the Inner and Outer Trigrams as reference. The mnemonic says: to accomplish something, one must examine the World and Response Lines: the World Line represents oneself, and the Response Line represents the other party. If the World Line is empty, being clashed, month breaker, or in decline, then any endeavor should not even begin. If any of these four conditions fall on the Response Line, it indicates that the other party is not in agreement, resulting in frustration. Whenever something is accomplished or any endeavor is made, the World and Response Lines are the main factors. If the World Line or Response Line is in decline or suffers from旬空, month breaker, or is clashed by the day branch, then success is difficult. Next, the Inner Trigram represents the person involved in the matter, and it should not be empty or broken. If the Inner Trigram is prosperous and strong, it definitely indicates smooth progress. Furthermore, if the Inner Trigram overcomes the Outer Trigram, or if the Inner and Outer Trigrams are mutually generating or harmonious, these are all favorable signs.

六沖爻象難諧就，卦內無官事必差，世應若逢日辰合，任君不願也堪誇。六沖之卦，事決不成。合處逢沖，成後復退。鬼若空亡及不上卦，皆不就也。世應二爻自相會合，或得日辰合世合應，縱若心中不欲，也得允成。

A hexagram showing the Six Clashes indicates that matters will not succeed; if there is no Official Ghost within the hexagram, things will certainly go wrong. If the World Line and Response Line are joined by the Day Branch, even if the other party is unwilling, it is still worth celebrating. A hexagram of Six Clashes means that matters will definitely not be resolved. If originally a hexagram of Six Harmony but later meets Six Clashes, after the matter is settled, it will be regretted. If the Official Ghost falls in an empty position or does not appear in the hexagram, things will not be accomplished. If the World and Response Lines join each other, or if the Day Branch joins the World Line or the Response Line, then even if the other party is unwilling, they will eventually agree.

陛官遷職兼興訟，官鬼交重名倍加，覓利還須財旺相，求書必得父光華。兄爻獨發般般忌，子象興隆事事佳。官中謀望所斷如前，復喜官爻旺相，獨忌子搖。如謀利息財忌空亡，若斡文書，不宜財動。卦如無父，終不能成。諸般謀事，各嫌兄弟交重，惟子動無不為佳，功名獨忌。

A rhyme says: promotion and official position, as well as litigation, are indicated when the official ghost爻 is active and strong, and reputation is doubled; seeking wealth requires the wealth爻 to be prosperous and strong; seeking documents requires the parents爻 to be bright and active; when the siblings爻 is active alone, it is to be avoided; when the children爻 is active and strong, all things are favorable. When dealing with matters in the official domain, the method of interpretation is the same as before, but it is more favorable when the official爻 is prosperous and strong, and it is particularly avoided when the children爻 is active. If the matter concerns interest-based wealth, then the wealth爻 falling into emptiness is to be avoided; if the matter concerns documents, then the wealth爻 being active is not suitable—when the hexagram does not contain the parents爻, the documents will not be completed. All matters are to be avoided when the siblings爻 is active and strong; only the children爻 being active is not harmful, except when seeking official rank, in which case it is particularly to be avoided.
