First year of Datong, the reign title was changed in the third month. The old edition of the Transmission of the Lamp says that Bodhidharma arrived at Jinling on the first day of the tenth month, which is wrong.

三傳燈舊雲。十一月二十三日。達磨屆於洛陽誤也

Year 3. The old edition of the Transmission of the Lamp says that Bodhidharma arrived at Luoyang on the twenty-third day of the eleventh month, which is wrong.

武泰元年二月帝崩。立幼主釗四月崩立莊帝五宗記引寶唱續法記雲。達磨此年示滅。於理可取

First year of Wutai, in the second month the emperor died. The infant ruler Yuan Zhao was installed and died in the fourth month, and Emperor Zhuang was installed. (The base text reads “Wu Zong Ji”, probably an error for “Zhengzong Ji”; it cites the Xu Fa Ji of Baochang as saying that Bodhidharma manifested extinction in this year, which is acceptable according to reason.)

Personal name Ziyou. Took the throne in the fourth month and changed the reign title to Jianyi.

建義元年九月又改元永安

First year of Jianyi, in the ninth month the reign title was changed again to Yong'an.

Year 3, in the twelfth month the emperor died. If one follows Baochang's Xu Fa Zhuan, the Wei envoy's return to Luoyang and report of meeting Bodhidharma going back west should be in this year, because Emperor Ming had already died while Xiaozhuang was still on the throne.

Personal name Lang. In the sixth month of the first year of Putai, Gao Huan (the base text writes it with a variant character, which is Gao Huan) installed him as emperor at Xindu, and changed the reign title to Zhongxing; in the fourth month of the second year he deposed him.

諱脩廣。普泰二年四月即位改元太昌

Personal name Xiuguang. Took the throne in the fourth month of the second year of Putai and changed the reign title to Taichang.

太昌元年十二月又改永熙

In the twelfth month of the first year of Taichang, the reign title was changed again to Yongxi.
