Year 3, in the tenth month the emperor was pressed by Chancellor Gao Huan and left to live in Guanzhong. Gao Huan installed Yuan Shanjian, the heir of the Prince of Qinghe, as ruler, with the capital at Ye, which was the Eastern Wei. Thus Wei was divided into east and west. In the twelfth month the emperor was killed with poisoned wine.
右後魏十二主。合一百四十九年分為東西魏
The twelve rulers of Later Wei above reigned one hundred and forty-nine years in all, and it was divided into Eastern Wei and Western Wei.
