紫微：廟丑未午，旺寅申卯酉巳亥，平子，無陷。

The Emperor star is in its temple position in the Chou, Wei, and Wu palaces, in its flourishing position in the Yin, Shen, Mao, You, Si, and Hai palaces, and in a balanced state in the Zi palace, with no palace where it is in decline.

紫微居午無刑忌，甲丁己命至公卿——加刑忌平常，刑乃擎羊也。紫微居子午，科權祿照最為奇——科權祿三方照是也，為仰面朝斗格。紫微男亥女寅宮，壬甲生人富貴同——同，男女同也。紫微卯酉劫空四殺，多為脫俗之僧——四殺，羊陀火鈴也。

The Emperor star "Ziwei" sitting in the Wu palace, without any malefic stars or harmful influences disturbing it, allows those born in the Jia, Ding, or Ji years to attain high official positions. If malefic stars or harmful influences are present, they will only be ordinary people. Here, the term "xing" refers to "Qingyang." When "Ziwei" is in the Zi or Wu palace and is accompanied by "Huake," "Huquan," and "Hualu," it is most extraordinary: when the three aspects of Huake, Huquan, and Hualu are present, it forms the "Yangmian Chao Dou" pattern. For male命 with "Ziwei" in the Hai palace and female命 with "Ziwei" in the Yin palace, those born in the Ren or Jia years will also achieve wealth and honor. The term "tong" means that both male and female situations are similarly realized. When "Ziwei" is in the Mao or You palace and encounters "Dijie," "Tiankong," and the four evils, they are likely to become monks who transcend worldly matters. The four evils are "Qingyang," "Tuoluo," "Huoxing," and "Lingxing."

紫微天府全依輔弼之功——紫府得輔弼同垣，及三方拱照嘉會，終身富貴。紫微天府同宮無殺湊，甲人享幅終身——紫府同在寅申宮守命，六甲人富貴。紫府朝垣活祿逢，終身福厚至三公——命坐寅申再加吉星妙。紫府日月居旺地，必定出佳公卿器——紫午府丑無殺加，又化祿是也。紫府武曲臨財宅，更兼權祿富奢翁——得左右祿存亦同。

The two main stars, "Ziwei" and "Tianfu," rely entirely on "Zuofu" and "Youbi" to achieve success: when "Ziwei" and "Tianfu" are supported by "Zuofu" and "Youbi" in the same palace or are supported by them from the three directions, the person will have a life of wealth and honor. If "Ziwei" and "Tianfu" are in the same palace without any malefic stars, those born in the year of Jia will enjoy lifelong prosperity: when "Ziwei" and "Tianfu" are in the palace of Yin or Shen, and the person is born in the year of Jia, they will be wealthy and honored. If "Ziwei" and "Tianfu" are in a favorable position towards the命垣 (destiny palace) and also meet the "Luchun" star, they will have a lifetime of good fortune and may reach the rank of the Three Grand Officers. If the命宫 (destiny palace) is in the palace of Yin or Shen, and is further supported by auspicious stars, it is most ideal. When "Ziwei" and "Tianfu" are in strong positions along with "Taiyang" and "Taiyin," they will certainly produce talented officials of the rank of officials: for example, if "Ziwei" is in the palace of Wu and "Tianfu" is in the palace of Chou, without any malefic stars, and with the transformation of wealth, this is such a pattern. When "Ziwei" and "Wuqu" are in the palace of Caibo (wealth) and Tianzai (residence), and also have the transformation of power and wealth, they will be wealthy and luxurious people; if "Zuofu," "Youbi," and "Luchun" are also present, the effect is the same.

紫微輔弼同宮，一呼百諾居上品——或作三方為次吉，在財帛宮則為財賦之官。紫府擎羊在鉅商——得武曲居遷移者吉。紫祿同宮日月照，貴不可言——紫微祿存同宮，日月三合拱照。紫微七殺化權，反作楨梓。紫微破軍無左右無吉曜，凶惡胥吏之徒。紫微權祿遇羊陀，雖獲吉而無道——為人心術不正。

The Emperor star and the Auxiliary auspicious stars are in the same palace, and with one call, a hundred people respond; this is considered of the highest quality. If the auxiliary auspicious stars are only in the three directions, the auspicious energy is slightly less, and if they are in the wealth and fortune palace, it indicates holding an official position responsible for managing money, grain, and taxes. When the Emperor star and the Treasury star meet the Malefic of injury, they often become great merchants; if the Wealth star is also in the migration palace, it is even more favorable. When the Emperor star and the Wealth-salary star are in the same palace, and the sun and moon also illuminate them, their status is so high it is hard to describe—this refers to the Emperor star and the Wealth-salary star sitting together in one palace, with the Star of brightness and prestige and the Wealth star and mother star supporting them from the Triple Harmony positions. When the Emperor star and the General star of severity are in the same palace and encounter the transformation of authority, the malevolent star becomes a pillar of the state. When the Emperor star and the Expenditure star and vanguard star are in the same palace, but without the Auxiliary auspicious stars or other auspicious stars, they become mere petty officials. When the Emperor star encounters transformation of authority and wealth, yet meets the Malefic of injury and Malefic of delay and entanglement, although they gain wealth and status, they do not follow the righteous path—such people have improper intentions.

紫破命臨於辰戍丑未，再加吉曜富貴堪期。紫破貪狼為至淫，男女邪淫。紫府同臨巳亥，一朝富貴雙全。紫府夾命為貴格。紫微昌曲富貴可期。紫微太陰殺曜逢，一生曹吏逞英雄。紫微武曲破軍會羊陀，欺公禍亂——只宜經商。紫破辰戍君臣不義——安樂山、趙高命是也。

The stars "Ziwei" and "Pojun" sitting in the four墓宫 (Chen, Xu, Chou, Wei) with auspicious stars present indicate the potential for wealth and honor. When "Ziwei" and "Pojun" are combined with "Tanlang," it signifies extreme indulgence and improper behavior between men and women. When "Ziwei" and "Tianfu" are both present in the Si or Hai palace, one may achieve sudden success and attain both wealth and honor. If the命宫 (destiny palace) is sandwiched between "Ziwei" and "Tianfu," it is considered a noble destiny. When "Ziwei" is combined with "Wenchang" and "Wenqu," wealth and honor are expected. However, if "Ziwei" and "Taiyin" encounter malevolent stars, the person will spend their life serving in government offices, acting aggressively as a low-ranking official. When "Ziwei," "Wuqu," and "Pojun" are combined with "Qingyang" and "Tuo Luo," they may oppress the government and cause chaos, making them suitable only for business. When "Ziwei" and "Pojun" are in the Chen or Xu palace, it indicates a lack of righteousness between rulers and subjects—this was the case for the fate of An Lushan (written as "Anle Mountain" in the text) of the Tang Dynasty and Zhao Gao of the Qin Dynasty.

女命紫微太陽星，早遇賢夫信可憑——女命紫微在寅午申宮吉，貴美旺夫益子。陷地平常，惟子酉及巳亥加四殺，美玉瑕玷，日後不美。

For a woman's chart, if she has the stars "Ziwei" and "Taiyang," she will meet a virtuous husband early in life. This statement is credible. The star "Ziwei" is most auspicious when located in the three palaces of Yin, Wu, and Shen, bringing both high status and beauty, and benefiting her husband and children. If it falls in a declining position, the outcome is ordinary. Only when "Ziwei" is in the Zi or You palaces, along with the four evils, does it resemble a jade with a flaw, leading to an imperfect future.

天府：廟子丑未寅辰戌，旺午酉，地卯巳申亥，無陷。

The "Tian Fu" star is in its prime in the six palaces of Zi, Chou, Wei, Yin, Chen, and Xu, is vigorous in the palaces of Wu and You, and is well established in the four palaces of Mao, Si, Shen, and Hai. There is no palace where it is in decline.

天府戌宮無殺湊，甲己人腰金又且富——加四殺有疵。天府居午戌，天相來朝，甲人一品之貴。府相朝垣千鍾食祿——命寅申，府相在財帛宮，祿官朝者上格，別宮次之。天府昌曲左右，高第恩榮。天府天相天梁同，君臣慶會。天府祿存昌曲，鉅萬之資。天府武曲居財宅，更兼權祿富奢翁——有左右祿存亦美。

When "天府" is in the Xu mansion without the presence of malevolent stars, those born in the Jia or Ji years will wear golden sashes around their waists, achieving both high status and wealth; however, if the four malevolent stars are present, there will be some flaws. When "天府" is in the Wu or Xu mansion and "天相" comes from the opposite mansion to face it, those born in the Jia year will attain the rank of a first-class official. When "天府" and "天相" face each other towards the命宫, they can enjoy a salary equivalent to a thousand measures of grain: if the命宫 is in the Yin or Shen mansion, and "天府" and "天相" are located in the财帛 mansion, with the禄星 and官禄 mansion also facing it, this is an excellent configuration; if they are in other mansions, it is of a slightly lower grade. When "天府" combines with "文昌", "文曲", "左辅", and "右弼", it indicates success in the imperial examinations and receiving imperial favor. When "天府" is combined with "天相" and "天梁", it signifies a harmonious meeting between the sovereign and ministers. When "天府" is combined with "禄存", "文昌", and "文曲", the family will have immense wealth. When "天府" and "武曲" are located in the财帛 and田宅 mansions, and they also transform into power and wealth, the person will be a wealthy and luxurious individual; having "左辅", "右弼", and "禄存" together also brings the same level of excellence.

天相：廟子午丑寅申，地辰戌巳亥未，陷卯酉。

The "Heavenly Seal" star is in its prime in the five palaces of Zi, Wu, Chou, Yin, and Shen, is well-placed in the five palaces of Chen, Xu, Si, Hai, and Wei, and is in decline in the two palaces of Mao and You.

天相廉貞擎羊來，多招刑杖難逃——終身不美招橫禍，只宜僧道。天相之星女命纏，必當子貴及夫賢——女命己生子宮，甲生午宮，庚生辰宮，俱是貴格。右弼天相福來臨——女命天相、右弼，諸宮吉。子宮癸生人，寅宮癸己生人，申宮甲庚癸生人，俱是貴格，丑末亥宮不貴，子午卯酉皆少福。

The star "Tian Xiang" together with "Lian Zhen" and "Qing Yang" brings many punishments and beatings, making it hard to escape: such people have an unremarkable life and often suffer unexpected misfortunes, making them suitable only for becoming monks or Taoist priests. For a woman's命宫 (destiny palace) ruled by "Tian Xiang", she will certainly have a distinguished son and a virtuous husband. Those born in the Ji year have their destiny in the Zi palace, those born in the Jia year have their destiny in the Wu palace, and those born in the Geng year have their destiny in the Chen palace, all of which are noble positions. When "You Bi" and "Tian Xiang" appear together, good fortune comes: for a woman with both "Tian Xiang" and "You Bi", all palaces are favorable. Those born in the Gui year have their destiny in the Zi palace, those born in the Gui or Ji years have their destiny in the Yin palace, and those born in the Jia, Geng, or Gui years have their destiny in the Shen palace, all of which are noble positions. However, those with their destiny in the Chou, Wei, or Hai palaces are not noble, and those with their destiny in the Zi, Wu, Mao, or You palaces have less fortune.

天梁：廟子午寅卯辰戌，旺丑未，地酉，陷申巳亥。

The Tian Liang star is in its temple position in the Zi, Wu, Yin, Mao, Chen, and Xu mansions, is vigorous in the Chou and Wei mansions, is well-placed in the You mansion, and is in decline in the Shen, Si, and Hai mansions.

天梁月曜女淫貧——梁巳亥、陰寅申主淫佚，不陷衣祿遂，如陷下賤。天梁居午位，官資清顯朝堂——丁己癸人合格。梁同己亥，男多浪蕩女多淫——加刑忌殺湊多下賤。天梁文昌居廟旺，位至臺綱。天梁守照吉相逢，平生福壽——在午位極佳。梁同機月寅申位，一生利業聰明——聲多不論。

"Tiān Liáng" and the lunar star "Tài Yīn" meeting together, for a female fate, indicate licentiousness and poverty: "Tiān Liáng" in the Si and Hai mansions, and "Tài Yīn" in the Yin and Shen mansions, both indicate licentiousness; if the stars are not in a fallen position, they can have smooth living and sufficient food and clothing, but if they are in a fallen position, they will be of low status. "Tiān Liáng" sitting in the Wu mansion indicates a high and noble official position, capable of standing in the court; those born in the Ding, Ji, and Gui years are suitable for this configuration. When "Tiān Liáng" and "Tiān Tóng" are both in the Si or Hai mansions (the original text says "Ji Hai" but should be "Si Hai"), men tend to be reckless and women tend to be licentious; if further combined with harmful stars, transformed evils, and malevolent stars, they are likely to be of low status. When "Tiān Liáng" and "Wén Chāng" are both in a flourishing position, the official position can reach the level of provincial and central government officials. If "Tiān Liáng" governs the destiny or is accompanied by auspicious stars, one will have a life of fortune and longevity, with the Wu mansion being the best. When "Tiān Liáng," "Tiān Tóng," "Tiān Jī," and "Tài Yīn" are in the Yin or Shen mansions, one will be intelligent and have success in career; as for the amount of reputation, it is not discussed here.

天梁太陽昌祿會，臚傳第一名。梁武陰鈴，擬作棟樑之客。梁宿太陰，卻作飄蓬之客——梁居酉，月居已是也。天梁天馬，為人飄蕩風流。天梁加吉坐遷移，臣商高賈——加刑忌平常。

The combination of "Tian Liang" with "Tai Yang," "Wen Chang," and "Lu Cun" indicates one may rank first in the palace examination. When "Tian Liang," "Wu Qu," "Tai Yin," and "Ling Xing" come together, it is likened to a pillar of the state. However, when "Tian Liang" and "Tai Yin" are in conjunction, it may result in a person who is unsettled and wandering, such as when "Tian Liang" is in the You palace and "Tai Yin" is in the Si palace. If "Tian Liang" meets "Tian Ma," the person tends to be wandering and promiscuous. If "Tian Liang" with auspicious stars is placed in the Migration Palace, it signifies a wealthy merchant; but if it is combined with malefic stars and a忌 (injury), it indicates an ordinary person.

天同：廟巳亥，旺子申，陷午。

The Star of Blessings is in its庙 position in the Si and Hai mansions, in its旺 position in the Zi and Shen mansions, and in its落陷 position in the Wu mansion.

天同會吉壽元長。天同貪羊陀居午位，丙戌鎮御邊疆——為馬頭帶箭，富且貴。同月陷宮加殺重，技藝羸黃。天同戌宮為反背，丁人命遇反為佳。女命天同必是賢——子生人命坐寅，辛人命卯，丁人命戌入格。丙辛人命中吉，己亥逢此化吉，雖美必淫。

The Star of Blessings is a fortunate star that brings a long life. When the Star of Blessings is joined by the Star of Romance and Desire, the Malefic of Injury, and the Malefic of Delay and Entanglement in theWu Palace (horse palace), those born in the years of Bing (Bing) or Wu (Wu) are suitable for guarding the borders—this is called the "Horse Head with Arrow" pattern, which brings both wealth and high status. However, if the Star of Blessings and the Wealth star and Mother star are in a fallen palace and are further afflicted by evil stars, the person can only rely on craftsmanship for a living, and will be thin and have a pale yellow complexion. The Star of Blessings in theXu Palace (dog palace) is naturally in a reverse and improper position, but those born in the year of Ding (Ding) are actually fortunate when encountering this palace. For women, having the Star of Blessings indicates virtue: those born in the year of Zi (Rat) sitting in theYin Palace (tiger palace), those born in the year of Xin (Xin) sitting in theMao Palace (rabbit palace), and those born in the year of Ding (Ding) sitting in theXu Palace (dog palace) are all favorable; those born in the years of Bing (Bing) or Xin (Xin) also have good fortune. If the Star of Blessings appears in theSi Palace (snake palace) orHai Palace (pig palace) along with favorable transformations, although they may be beautiful, they are prone to indulgence and licentiousness.

天機：廟子午，旺辰酉，陷丑未。

The Star of Wisdom and Adaptability is in its庙 position in the Zi and Wu mansions, in its旺 position in the Chen and You mansions, and in its落陷 position in the Chou and Wei mansions.

機梁會合善談兵，居戌亦為美論——孟子遷移戌宮，有機梁。機梁守命，加吉曜，富貴慈祥——加刑忌，僧道。機梁同照命身，又逢劫空，偏宜僧道——機同單守命身，又逢空亡。機梁七殺破軍沖，羽客僧流命所逢——若兼帝座，加太陽，吉。

Those with the stars "Tian Ji" and "Tian Liang" in their chart are skilled in discussing military strategies. These two stars in the Xu palace are considered a good combination—legend has it that Mencius' migration palace is in the Xu palace, which also contains "Tian Ji" and "Tian Liang." If "Tian Ji" and "Tian Liang" guard the命宫 (destiny palace) along with auspicious stars, they will achieve wealth and honor while possessing a kind and benevolent heart. However, if they are combined with malefic stars and afflictions, it is more suitable for them to become monks or hermits. Those with "Tian Ji" and "Tian Liang" together illuminating the命宫 (destiny palace) or the身宫 (body palace), and also encountering "Di Jie" and "Tian Kong," are particularly suited for monastic life. Similarly, if "Tian Ji" and "Tian Tong" alone guard the命宫 (destiny palace) or身宫 (body palace) and also meet Kongwang, it is also a favorable combination. When "Tian Ji" and "Tian Liang" are attacked by "Qi Sha" and "Po Jun," it often indicates a destiny of becoming a monk or a hermit. However, if they are also joined by the imperial seat "Zi Wei" and "Tai Yang," the fortune turns favorable.

機月同梁作吏人——命在寅申方論，加吉不論，無吉無殺亦是平常人，凶殺空劫化忌為下格。機梁貪月同機會，暮夜經商無眠睡——遇凶星奔波。天機加惡殺同宮，狗偷鼠竊。天機巳宮酉逢，好飲離宗奸狡重。巨陷天機為破格——女命在寅申卯酉，雖富貴，仍不免淫慾下賤，寅申守照，福不全美。

People with the combination of the stars Star of wisdom and adaptability, Wealth star and mother star, Star of blessings, and Shelter star and longevity star are likely to work as clerks or minor officials; this interpretation applies only when the命宫 is in the寅 or 申 palace; if good stars are present, this is not the case; if there are neither good nor bad stars, they are ordinary people; if there areInauspicious Sha, Plunder and Void, or 化忌, they have a low destiny. When the stars Star of wisdom and adaptability, Shelter star and longevity star, Star of romance and desire, and Wealth star and mother star are combined with Star of wisdom and adaptability, they will need to work hard and travel at night, unable to rest well; if more凶星 are present, they will be constantly busy all day. If Star of wisdom and adaptability is in the same palace as evil stars, they may engage in dishonest activities. When Star of wisdom and adaptability is in the巳 or 酉 palace, they tend to drink a lot, leave their family, and have a cunning nature. If Dark star and star of speech is in a fallen position and meets Star of wisdom and adaptability, it is considered a bad combination: for women whose命宫 is in the寅, 申, 卯, or 酉 palace, although they may be wealthy, they still cannot avoid lust and low morality; if their命宫 is in the寅 or 申 palace or is influenced by these stars, their fortune is incomplete.

太陽：廟卯，旺寅辰巳午，陷子。

The Star of Brightness and Prestige is in its prime in the Mao palace, flourishing in the Yin, Chen, Si, and Wu palaces, and in decline in the Zi palace.

日照雷門，子辰卯地晝生富貴聲揚。太陽文昌在官祿，皇殿朝班——文昌同亦然。日落未申，在命位為人先勤後懶。太陽居午，庚辛丁己人富貴雙全。太陽化忌，是非日有，目還傷。女命端正太陽星，早配賢夫信可憑——太陽守命，陷平常。居卯辰巳午無殺，旺夫益子。

The Star of Brightness and Prestige shining on the Thunder Gate, which is the Zhen position in theMao Palace, indicates wealth and fame for those born in the Zi, Chen, or Mao positions and born during the day. When the Star of Brightness and Prestige and the Star of Examinations and Documents are both in the official position, one can enter the imperial court and stand in the palace. Similarly, when the Star of Brightness and Prestige is in the same position as the Star of Talent and Eloquence, the result is the same. If the Star of Brightness and Prestige is in the Wei or Shen positions and one's destiny is based on these positions, then one tends to be diligent at first and lazy later. If the Star of Brightness and Prestige is in the Wu position, those born in the years of Geng, Xin, Ding, or Ji will have both wealth and status. 太陰：廟亥子丑，旺寅酉戌，陷卯辰巳。

The star Wealth star and mother star is in its庙 position in the three palaces of Hai, Zi, and Chou, in its旺 position in the three palaces of Yin, You, and Xu, and in its落陷 position in the three palaces of Mao, Chen, and Si.

太陰居子，丙丁富貴忠良——夜生人合局。太陰武曲祿存同，左右相逢富貴翁。太陰同文曲於妻宮，蟾宮折桂——文昌同亦然，在身命巧藝之人。太陰羊陀，必主人離財散。月朗天門於亥地，登雲職掌大權——子生人夜時生合局，不貴則大富。月曜天梁女淫貧——太陰寅申巳，多主淫貧，或偏房侍婢。若貪狼、文昌、文曲，同於夫宮必招配賢明之夫。

The star 'Too Yin' sitting in the Zi palace indicates that those born in the years of Bing or Ding will be wealthy and loyal. This configuration is suitable only for those born at night. When 'Too Yin' is in the same palace as 'Wu Qu' and 'Lu Cun', and also meets 'Zuo Fu' and 'You Bi', it signifies a wealthy person. If 'Too Yin' is in the marriage palace together with 'Wen Qu', it indicates success in exams, like winning the moon palace prize. Similarly, if 'Too Yin' is in the same palace as 'Wen Chang', it suggests someone with skill and talent, especially if it is in the body or destiny palace. When 'Too Yin' meets 'Qing Yang' and 'Tuo Luo', it leads to family separation and loss of wealth. When the bright moon shines on the heavenly gate, meaning 'Too Yin' is in the Hai palace, it indicates rising to prominence and holding great power. This configuration is suitable for those born in the Zi year and at night, even if not wealthy, they will certainly be very rich. When 'Too Yin' is in the same palace as 'Tian Liang', women are likely to be promiscuous and poor. 'Too Yin' in the Yin, Shen, or Si palace often indicates promiscuity and poverty, or being a concubine. However, if 'Tan Lang', 'Wen Chang', and 'Wen Qu' are all in the marriage palace, the woman will certainly marry a virtuous husband.

日巳月酉，丑宮命步蟾宮。日卯月亥，安命未宮多折桂。日月同未，命安丑，侯伯之材。日月命身居丑末，三方無吉反為凶——子午辰戌，身命更佳。日月守命，不如照合併明——守命吉多主吉，凶多主凶。若吉少，亦不為美之論。日辰月戌並爭耀，權祿非淺。日月夾命夾財加吉曜，不權則富——加羊陀沖守，宜僧。

The Star of Brightness and Prestige is in the Si palace, and the Wealth Star and Mother Star is in the You palace; those with their natal palace in the Chou palace can achieve success in the imperial examinations and gain official positions. The Star of Brightness and Prestige is in the Mao palace, and the Wealth Star and Mother Star is in the Hai palace; those with their natal palace in the Wei palace are likely to attain high office. When the Star of Brightness and Prestige and the Wealth Star and Mother Star are both in the Wei palace and the natal palace is in the Chou palace, they are materials for becoming a marquis or general. If the Sun and Moon are directly in the Chou or Wei palace and guard the natal and body palace, but there are no auspicious stars and instead malevolent stars, it is not favorable. If the natal and body palace are in the Zi, Wu, Chen, or Xu palace, it is better. When the Sun and Moon are directly guarding the natal palace, it is not as favorable as when they shine from the opposite palace or the Triple Harmony palace. When auspicious stars are numerous while guarding the natal palace, it indicates good fortune; when malevolent stars are numerous, it indicates misfortune; even if auspicious stars are few, it is not considered a good fate. When the Star of Brightness and Prestige is in the Chen palace and the Wealth Star and Mother Star is in the Xu palace, the two stars shine brightly together, indicating substantial power and wealth. If the Sun and Moon enclose the natal palace or the wealth palace, and are accompanied by auspicious stars, they may not hold power but will certainly be wealthy. 日月最嫌反背——如日月同宮，看人之生時。日喜太陽，夜宜太陰。若反背，日戌月辰，子月午。若出外離宗成家也吉，勿概以反背論。陰陽左右合為佳。日月陷宮逢惡殺，勞碌奔波。日月羊陀多克親。日月更須貪殺會，男多奸盜女多淫。日月疾厄命宮空，腰陀目瞽——如日月在疾厄宮，逢空亡必主腰陀、目瞽，命宮亦然。

The sun and moon are most忌 when they are opposite and out of position. If the sun and moon are in the same palace, one should look at the person's birth time—those born in the day are favorable with the Star of Brightness and Prestige, while those born at night are suitable with the Wealth Star and Mother Star.the so-called opposite means the Star of Brightness and Prestige is in the Xu palace and the Wealth Star and Mother Star is in the Chen palace, or the Star of Brightness and Prestige is in the Zi palace and the Wealth Star and Mother Star is in the Wu palace. However, such people who leave their hometown and start a new family on their own are still auspicious, so they should not be generally considered as opposite. The sun and moon are best when they are in harmony with the Auxiliary Auspicious Stars, Left and Right. If the sun and moon are in a fallen position and meet evil stars, they will have a life of toil and hardship. If the sun and moon meet the Malefic of Injury and the Malefic of Delay and Entanglement, there will be many conflicts with parents. If the sun and moon also join with the Star of Romance and Desire and evil stars, men tend to engage in dishonest activities, while women tend to be promiscuous. If the sun and moon fall in the palace of illness and the palace of destiny also meets Kongwang, it indicates a hunched back and blindness. If the sun and moon are in the palace of illness and meet Kongwang, it definitely means a bent back and blindness in both eyes; the same applies if it occurs in the palace of destiny.

文昌：廟巳酉丑，地申子辰，陷寅午戌。

The Star of Examinations and Documents is in its temple position in the three palaces of Si, You, and Chou, in its proper place in the three palaces of Shen, Zi, and Chen, and in decline in the three palaces of Yin, Wu, and Xu.

文昌武曲為人多學多能——四墓、卯酉巳亥身命，論三方科權祿。文科拱照，賈誼年少登科——論三方。左輔文昌位至三臺。文昌武曲於身命，文正兼備——孫臏之命是也。

The combination of "Wen Chang" and "Wu Qu" indicates a person who is learned and versatile. If the natal position falls in the four earthly branches of Chen, Xu, Chou, or Wei, or in the branches of Mao, You, Si, or Hai, one should also check the three surrounding positions for the presence of Hu Ke, Hu Quan, or Hu Lu. When "Wen Chang" is supported by Hu Ke, it is like Han Dynasty's Jia Yi, who achieved success in the imperial exams at a young age—this is referring to the influence of the three surrounding positions. The stars "Wen Qu" and "Wu Qu" being together in a strong and flourishing palace, along with "Zuo Fu" and "You Bi," indicate a person with the potential to become a high-ranking official: "Wen Qu" is most favorable in the Zi, Wu, and You palaces, while "Wu Qu" is most favorable in the Chen, Xu, Chou, and Wei palaces. When both stars are in their strong positions, their fame and prestige will be prominent. "Wen Qu" is most favorable in the Zi palace, followed by the Mao and You palaces; "Wu Qu" is most favorable in the Chen palace, followed by the Chou and Wei palaces. 昌曲夾命最為奇——假若命在丑宮，文昌在寅，文曲在子是也。不貴即富，吉多方論此為貴。昌曲臨於丑未，時逢卯酉近天顏——賈誼卜商，昌曲未宮命丑宮，在命兼化吉者方論。昌曲巳亥臨，不貴即當大富。昌曲吉星居福德，謂之玉袖天香——更得紫微居午宮妙。

The configuration where "Wenqiang" and "Wenqu" flank the命宫 is very special: for example, if the命宫 is in the Chou palace, "Wenqiang" is in the Yin palace and "Wenqu" is in the Zi palace. This pattern is not only wealthy but also prestigious, but it requires many auspicious stars to be considered as noble. When "Wenqiang" and "Wenqu" are in the Chou or Wei palaces and are born in the卯 or酉 hours, they can serve near the emperor—like the fate of Jia Yi of the Han dynasty and Bo Shang of the Confucian school (i.e., Zi Xia). In such cases, "Wenqiang" is in the Wei palace while the命宫 is in the Chou palace. This configuration is only considered as noble if the命宫 also encounters a favorable transformation. If "Wenqiang" and "Wenqu" are in the Si or Hai palaces, they are not noble but will be very wealthy. When "Wenqiang" and "Wenqu" are together in the FuDe palace, it is called "Yuxiu Tianxiang"; if there is also "Ziwei" in the Wu palace, it is even better.

昌曲陷宮凶殺，破虛譽之隆——凶殺即羊陀空劫。昌曲陷於天傷，顏回夭折——命有劫空、羊陀，限至七殺，羊陀迭並方論。昌曲己辛壬生人，限逢辰戌慮投河——如入廟吉，大小二限俱到。昌曲廉貞於巳亥，遭刑不善且虛誇——貪多作事顛倒，子申二官貴吉多美。

Changqu falls into a weak position and meets malefic stars, which will destroy the originally prosperous reputation — here the malefic stars refer to 'Qingyang', 'Tuoluo', 'Dijie', and 'Tiankong'. If Changqu is in a weak position and meets 'Tianshang', it is like Yan Hui from the Confucian school who died young: the命宫 originally has劫, empty, Qingyang, and Tuoluo, and when the life span reaches 'Qishash' and meets Qingyang and Tuoluo again, it is thus interpreted. Those born in the years of Ji, Xin, or Ren, if their life span reaches the Chen palace or Xu palace, should beware of drowning in rivers. If Changqu is in its strong position, it is auspicious, and both the major and minor spans must reach it. If Changqu and 'Lianzhen' are in the Si palace or Hai palace, they suffer from legal troubles and are bad in character but fond of exaggeration: such people are greedy for more, and their actions are disordered. If they are in the Zi palace or Shen palace, those with many auspicious stars will achieve honor and fulfillment.

昌曲祿存，猶為奇特。昌曲破軍臨虎兔，殺羊沖破奔波——虎兔，即寅卯宮是也。昌曲左右會羊陀，當生異痣。女人昌曲聰明富貴只多淫。

Chang Qu meet again with "Lu Cun", the pattern is especially peculiar. Chang Qu and "Po Jun" are located in the Yin and Mao palaces, and are broken by "Qi Sha" and "Qing Yang". One's life is full of wandering and toil.所谓 "Hu Tu" refers to the Yin and Mao palaces. Chang Qu meets "Zuo Fu" and "You Bi" together with "Qing Yang" and "Tuo Luo", and is born with unusual birthmarks on the body. For women with Chang Qu, they are intelligent and wealthy, but tend to have indulgent and licentious behavior.

武曲：廟辰戌丑未，旺子午，平巳亥，無失陷。

The star Wealth star and general star is in its temple position in the four墓宫 of Chen, Xu, Chou, and Wei, is vigorous in the two宫 of Zi and Wu, and is in a balanced state in the two宫 of Si and Hai, with no宫 where it is in decline.

武曲廟垣威名赫奕——辰戍丑未生人安命在辰戍宮為四墓，若但在丑未次之。武曲相遇昌曲逢，聰明巧藝定無窮——武曲或與天相同垣逢昌曲。武曲祿馬交馳，發財遠郡。武曲遷移鉅商高賈——吉多方論。武曲廉貞貪殺，便作經商。

The star "Wuqu" is strong and prosperous in its native palace, bringing great fame and prestige. Those born in the years of Chen, Xu, Chou, or Wei are most fortunate when "Wuqu" is in the Chen or Xu palaces, which are the resting places of the star. Being in the Chou or Wei palaces is slightly less favorable. When "Wuqu" meets "Tianxiang" and is accompanied by "Wenchang" and "Wenqu," the person is intelligent and skilled in various arts. If "Wuqu" interacts with "Luchun" and "Tianma," the person can accumulate wealth in distant regions. When "Wuqu" is in the migration palace, it indicates a wealthy merchant, and this is only considered favorable if there are many auspicious stars. If "Wuqu" is combined with "Lianzhen," "Tanlang," and "Qishash" together, the person is suited for business.

武曲破軍，破祖破家勞碌。武曲劫殺會擎羊，因財持刀。武曲魁鉞居廟旺，財賦之官。武曲貪狼財宅位，橫發資財。武曲貪狼加殺忌，技藝之人。武曲破貞於卯地，木壓雷驚。武曲羊陀兼火宿，喪命因財。武曲之星為寡宿——火星柔弱，婦奪夫權方免刑剋。若兩剛相敵，必主刑剋生離。

"武曲" and "破军" together cause the destruction of ancestral property and a life of toil. When "武曲" meets "劫煞", "擎羊", there is a risk of violence over money. If "武曲" is joined by "天魁" and "天钺" in a favorable position, one can hold office managing finances and taxes. When "武曲" and "贪狼" are in the wealth or property宫, there is potential for sudden wealth. However, if "武曲" and "贪狼" are combined with malefic stars and in a bad position, one can only make a living through skills. When "武曲", "破军", and "廉贞" are in theMao Palace, there is a risk of injury from wood or lightning. If "武曲" meets "擎羊", "陀罗", and "火星", it may lead to death due to financial loss. The nature of "武曲" is solitary and isolated: if the husband is weak in character (originally "火星" should be "夫性"), the wife should take charge to avoid conflict; if both are strong and opposing, there will be conflict or separation.

貪狠：廟辰戌丑未，旺子午，陷巳亥。

The "Tianlan" star (written as "Tianhen" in the text) is in its temple position in the four墓宫 (Chen, Xu, Chou, and Wei), is vigorous in the Zi and Wu palaces, and is in decline in the Si and Hai palaces.

貪狼遇鈴火四墓宮，豪富家資侯伯貴——辰戌宮佳，丑未宮次之，若守照俱可論吉。貪狠入廟壽元長。貪狼會殺無吉曜，屠宰之人。貪狠子午卯酉，鼠竊狗偷之輩，終身不能有為——申子辰人命坐子宮，寅午戌人命坐午宮，亥卯末人命坐卯宮，巳酉丑人命坐酉宮是也。

The Star of Romance and Desire in the four earthly branches of Chen, Xu, Chou, and Wei encounters the Hidden-Fire Malefic and the Malefic of Violence, indicating great wealth and noble rank akin to a marquess. The Chen and Xu branches are most favorable, while the Chou and Wei branches are slightly less so. Whether the Star of Romance and Desire is in the same palace or forms a conjunction with the opposite palace, it can be considered auspicious. Those with the Star of Romance and Desire in its proper position live long lives. However, if the Star of Romance and Desire is accompanied by malefic stars without any beneficial stars, it indicates a person involved in violent occupations. When the Star of Romance and Desire is in the palaces of Zi, Wu, Mao, or You, it signifies someone engaged in deceitful activities, who will not achieve great success in life. This applies to those born in the years of Shen-Zi-Chen, Yin-Wu-Xu, Hai-Mao-Wei, or Si-You-Chou, whose destiny palace is located in Zi, Wu, Mao, or You respectively.

貪狼加吉坐長生，壽考永如彭租——寅午戌火生人，命坐寅木申金。貪狠巳亥加殺，不為屠戶亦遭刑——享福不久。貪狼同行晚景邊夷神服——三十年後發財，坐命武曲守照，辰戌宮佳，丑未宮次之。貪武先貧而後富——利己損人。命有紫微日月左右昌曲，限逢綠權科，則貴顯論。

The star 'Tanan' combined with auspicious stars sitting in the Growth position signifies long life like Pengzu: when the Fire triad of Yin, Wu, and Xu is present, fire generates the human destiny, with the person's birth chart in the wood position of Yin or the metal position of Shen. However, when 'Tanan' is in the Si or Hai positions and combined with malefic stars, the person may not become a butcher but still suffer punishment, and their happiness will not last long. When 'Tanan' and 'Wuqu' are together, in old age they can make distant ethnic groups submit: they will become wealthy thirty years later, and if their命宫 is occupied by 'Wuqu' or 'Wuqu' is guarding or shining upon it, the best positions are Chen and Xu, with Chou and Wei as secondary. People with 'Tanan' and 'Wuqu' will first be poor then rich, but they are self-serving and harm others. The star 'Tanniang' and a malevolent star in the same palace indicate that a woman may commit infidelity and a man may steal. When 'Tanniang' and 'Wuqu' share the palace of the body without auspicious stars, their lifespan is shortened. If the palace of destiny lacks auspicious stars but the palace of the body has 'Tanniang' and 'Wuqu', it signifies loneliness and poverty. When 'Tanniang' and 'Taiyin' join with malevolent stars and 'Tianji' and 'Tianliang', they are greedy for wealth and tend to engage in business frequently. When 'Tanniang' meets 'Qingyang' and 'Tuoluo' and resides in the palace of Hai or Zi, it is called 'Fanshui Taohua', indicating that both men and women are addicted to sensual pleasures and alcohol, leading to their demise. However, if there are auspicious stars present, it can still be considered favorable.

貪狼陀羅在寅宮，號曰風流彩杖。貪武申宮為下格——化忌方論。貪武四生四墓宮，破軍忌殺百工通。貪武破軍無吉曜，迷戀酒以忘身——或作手藝。貪狼廉貞同度，男多浪蕩女多淫。女命貪狼多嫉妒——在亥子，遇羊陀嫉妒之流。逢祿馬不美。

The stars 'Tanniang' and 'Tuoluo' together in the寅 (Yin) palace are called 'Fengliu Cai Zhang' (Flamboyant Beauty Staff). When 'Tanniang' and 'Wuqu' are in the申 (Shen) palace, it is considered a poor configuration—only when encountering a 'Hua Ji' (transformed忌) star is this assessment made. If 'Tanniang' and 'Wuqu' are in one of the four 'Sheng' (life) palaces—寅, 申, 巳, or 亥—or one of the four 'Mu' (burial) palaces—辰, 戌, 丑, or 未—and also meet 'Pojun', 'Hua Ji', and malefic stars, then the person is skilled in many crafts and trades. If 'Tanniang' and 'Wuqu' are with 'Pojun' but lack auspicious stars, the person may become addicted to alcohol and women, neglecting their body, or engage in manual labor. When 'Tanniang' and 'Lianzhen' are in the same palace, men tend to be reckless and women tend to be promiscuous. For female命 (birth charts), 'Tanniang' often indicates jealousy; if it is in the亥 (Hai) or 子 (Zi) palace and also meets 'Yangtu' (Yang Tu), the person is especially jealous; even with 'Luchun' and 'Tianma', it is not considered favorable.

廉貞：廟寅申，利辰戌丑未，陷巳亥。

The star "Lianzhen" is in its temple position in the寅 and 申 palaces, is favorable in the 辰, 戌, 丑, and 未 palaces, and is in a fallen position in the 巳 and 亥 palaces.

廉貞申未宮無殺，富貴聲揚播遠名——雄宿朝元格，加殺平常。廉貞卯酉宮加殺，公胥無面官人——或巧藝人。廉貞暗臣，曹吏貪婪。廉貞貪殺破軍逢武曲遷移，作具戎——恐是文曲。廉貞七殺居廟旺，反為積富之人——殺居午奇格，若陷地化忌，貧賤殘疾。

"Lianzhen" in the Shen palace and Wei palace without any malevolent stars brings great wealth and widespread fame - this is the "Xiong Su Chao Yuan" pattern; if malevolent stars are added, it is merely ordinary. "Lianzhen" in the Mao palace and You palace with added malevolent stars results in being a low-ranking official without dignity or a craftsman. "Lianzhen" together with the hidden star "Jumeng" leads to being a government clerk with a greedy nature. "Lianzhen" meeting with "Tanlang", "Qishash", and "Pojun" while "Wuqu" is in the migration palace allows one to serve in military positions - the original note suspects that "Wuqu" here should be "Wenqu". When "Lianzhen" and "Qishash" are both in their strong and flourishing positions, they become people who accumulate wealth: "Qishash" in the Wu palace is an extraordinary pattern; if it falls into a weak position and transforms into a忌, then one will be poor, lowly, and disabled.

廉貞破火居陷地，自縊投河。廉貞七殺居巳亥，流蕩天涯。仲由威猛，廉貞入廟遇將軍——甲生人坐酉，乙生人坐亥，丙戊生人命坐酉，丁己生人命坐寅，庚生人命坐子，辛生人命坐卯，癸生人命坐申。廉貞四殺遭刑戮——同羊陀火鈴是也，若安布此星同，必遭刑戮終身。

"Lianzhen," "Pojun," and "Huoxing" all residing in a fallen and weakened position indicate a dangerous death by hanging or drowning. When "Lianzhen" and "Qishash" are in the Si or Hai palace, a person will live a life of wandering far from home. Zongyu Zhongyu was remarkably fierce and strong, which is exactly when "Lianzhen" enters its temple position and meets the "General Star" (Qishash). Those born in the Jia year sit in the You palace, those born in the Yi year sit in the Hai palace, those born in the Bing or Wu years sit in the You palace, those born in the Ding or Ji years sit in the Yin palace, those born in the Geng year sit in the Zi palace, those born in the Xin year sit in the Mao palace, and those born in the Gui year sit in the Shen palace. When "Lianzhen" meets the four malefics, it will suffer punishment and execution. The four malefics are "Qingyang," "Tuoluo," "Huoxing," and "Lingxing" in the same palace. If these stars are all grouped together, the person will inevitably suffer from punishment and execution throughout their life.

廉貞白虎，刑杖難逃——流年太歲並小限坐宮，又值白虎加臨，主官非遭刑杖。廉貞殺破會遷移，死於外道。廉貞羊殺居官祿，加紐難逃。廉貞清白能相守——女人甲己庚癸安命申酉亥子宮，丙辛乙戊安命寅卯巳午是也，若辰戌丑未反賤。

"Lianzhen" encountering "Baihu" indicates unavoidable punishment and corporal punishment: the current year's Tai Su and the small limit's palace position, combined with "Baihu" influence, indicate legal troubles and corporal punishment. "Lianzhen" meeting with "Qishash" and "Pojun" in the migration palace indicates death away from home. "Lianzhen" together with "Qingyang" and "Qishash" in the official position palace leads to unavoidable shackles and punishments.
