The nayin sound element of Bingwu and Dingwei is galactic water. Earthly soil cannot overcome it, because it is water from the sky and metal from the earth cannot generate it. This water is too strong and excessive, thus harming all things; if it is too weak and dying, it cannot generate all things. The "Five Phases Essential Treatise" says: Bingwu is the most exalted water, with the warm and thick energy of the south within its nature; those who possess it are often full of spiritual energy and capable of flexible adaptability, intelligent and outstanding, capable of great achievements, and can lead others. Dingwei possesses the complete number of heaven, earth, and humanity, and receives harmonious energy; those who possess it have complete spirit and strength, refined nature and high potential, and can fully understand the ways of change.
The nayin sound element of Wushen is layered earth hills. Wood reaches its end at Shen, so it cannot overcome earth; if gold and water support it from all sides, it forms a prosperous and honorable pattern. The nayin sound element of Jiyou is earth in a desperate position. Earth energy is insufficient and needs fire to assist it: encountering Dingmao or Dingyou fire brings good fortune, but it is most feared to fall into a dead or doomed position; it also fears Xinmao or Xinyou wood, and encountering them brings calamity, hardships, and even short life.
Gengxu and Xinhai have the Nayin sound element of metal that has already become solid and formed, which cannot be exposed to fire, for it fears being harmed by fire; if it can receive assistance from water and earth, it will show great prestige. Yan Dongshou said: Gengxu is gold sitting on the fire grave, carrying a fierce and arrogant temper, it is calm and substantial in autumn and winter, but if born in spring and summer, it tends to bring regret and blame easily; a gentleman possessing it can hold the power of military and law, while a petty person possessing it will display a wild and fierce nature. Xinhai metal receives the vigorous and upright energy of the Qian trigram, pure brightness, and the middle harmony and uprightness; it is auspicious in spring, autumn, and winter, but only seven parts auspicious and three parts inauspicious in summer; if a noble birth is combined with it, it can practice benevolence and abide by righteousness; if it is accompanied by punishment and killing, it will act violently and greedily pursue fame and success.
The nayin sound element of Renzi is wood that resides in its original position, while the nayin sound element of Guichou is wood that tends into the storage. When encountering dead or exhausted places, it brings wealth and honor, but when encountering flourishing and vigorous places, it leads to poverty and low status. Too much water causes short life and early death, while abundance of metal and strong earth is favorable. The "Essential Discourse on the Five Phases" says: Renzi is a type of hidden and soft wood with weak yang energy and strong yin energy, flexible yet unable to stand on its own, often following the virtue of water. It becomes a pure and harmonious virtue of water and wood only when it meets Bingwu water. Those with such a nayin sound element have the demeanor of immortal beings and sages, not ordinary people.
The *Zhu Shen Jing* says: The wood of Renzi is overly soft and weak, but if it can be stimulated, it will be both benevolent and enlightened. The commentary explains: The wood of Renzi is in a place where water is strong, and it is born from a slight bit of yang qi in Zi. It is fragile and easily broken, thus it is a self-defeated wood; to stimulate it, one needs the qi of fire and earth to supplement it, making its branches and leaves flourish, thus it becomes benevolent, brave, and enlightened. The *Yu Xiao Bao Jian* says: The reason it is called Sangzhe wood is to take the meaning of timely response—when the silkworm industry declines, it is precisely the time when Sangzhe trees receive life qi again.
The nayin sound element of Jiayin is water sitting in the position of illness, and the nayin sound element of Yimao is water sitting in the position of death; although one is death and the other is illness, the earth element is able to overcome them without moving, because the two layers of wood from the heavenly stem and earthly branch can control the earth. If one sees Renyin and Guimao metal, the situation becomes prosperous. The "Essence of the Five Phases" says: Jiayin and Renxu belong to hidden rebellious energy, with yin overpowering yang, indicating deceit and harm; only by using fire and earth to regulate, and restraining with some loss and gain, can great achievement be achieved.
The nayin sound element of Bingchen is self-stored earth, heavy and solid, which prefers Jiachen and dislikes Wuchen; this earth is not harmed by wood, because the heavenly stem Bing belongs to fire, and fire generates earth. Chen is also a secondary storage of fire, and the earth has already been refined into an object; it only dislikes the combinations of Wuxu, Jihai, Xinmao, and Wuchen. The "Five Elements Essential Discourse" says: the earth of Bingchen is "positive nurturing," establishing the virtue of gathering five blessings; those who possess this element usually achieve great success, either attaining high status or great wealth; but those who suffer from a clash often become monks or Taoist priests.
Dingsi's Nayin sound element is earth that is in a secluded place, but in reality it is not absolute. Because a layer of earth is under two layers of fire, it is like being in the homeland of the parents who nurture me, receiving the kindness of natural relatives, so it is not considered as being in a secluded place. Wood does not overcome it, and the more fire there is, the better. The "Yuzhao Baodian" says: Dingsi contains the fire virtue of the Southeast, and those who possess its旺 number are broad-minded, tolerant, and have fortune and longevity.
The nayin sound element of Wuwu is self-prosperous fire, while that of Jiwei is fire entering the storage. Both are located in the Li trigram, the luminous direction, and the prosperous and strong place, where the fire is extremely strong. Ordinary water cannot harm it, but it is only disliked by the heavenly water of Bingwu and Dingwei. Yan Dongshou said: Wuwu is self-prosperous fire, containing the luminous energy of the Li trigram and the fiery upward nature. It deals with matters without sentiment, and every action often goes against the majority. If it is born in autumn or winter and is tempered by the strong water and earth, it becomes broad-minded and powerful, with solid blessings. If it is born in spring or summer and rides on the energy of metal and wood, although it rises quickly and shines brightly, its lifespan is not long.
The Five Phases Treatise says: Jiwei represents a fire that has already declined, implying a hidden remaining glow and the concealment of充实 energy; if born in the months of spring or winter, and the destiny moves into a period of retreat, then it will be wise, sharp, and endowed with deep blessings and auspiciousness; if born in summer, it will not be harmonious energy; if born in autumn, it will first be favorable but then turn to misfortune.
Gengshen and Xinyou are combinations where metal sits on top of wood, relying on metal to process the wood into objects; it is unfavorable to see more metal, as it would destroy the already made objects; if one sees Jiashen and Yiyou water, it harmonizes the pattern. The Yuzhao Baodian says: Gengshen and Xinyou have the Nayin sound element of wood, and the heavenly stem metal is mutually controlling with it, taking the wood with a pungent taste, which is the pomegranate wood, so it is named after pomegranate, taking its nature and taste. Other woods die at the Wu position, but pomegranate wood becomes strong at the Wu position, precisely because it possesses its own nature.
Gengshen is a type of wood that is in a state of absolute decline, representing the spirit and soul wandering and the subtle changes of qi. Such a configuration usually produces extraordinary talents rather than ordinary ones. Even in common patterns, it indicates a person with sharp intellect and a free-spirited nature. If it enters a noble pattern, it signifies a heroic talent capable of achieving rare accomplishments that span generations. Xinyou is wood that has lost its original position, sitting on top of the metal territory. Those who possess this configuration often face many difficulties in the world. Only when it interacts with Guimao metal can there be a balance between hardness and softness, resulting in a tall and outstanding character, who is sure to achieve high ranks in examinations.
The *Zhu Shen Jing* says: The soul is considered valuable because it can ascend to heaven. Therefore, the wood of Gengshen does not mind being in a dead and exhausted place, and sitting alone while firmly holding onto Gengshen expresses this meaning. The commentary explains: Gengshen is wood that has cut off its own vitality. In the five internal organs, wood corresponds to the liver, which is the dwelling place of the soul. When the form of wood is cut off, the soul can wander in heaven, so the wood of Gengshen does not fear being in a dead and exhausted place. Its value lies precisely in the soul's ability to wander in heaven. The *Gui Gu Yi Wen* says: Xinyou desires to meet with a thriving and vigorous condition. The commentary explains: Xinyou is wood whose vital energy has already been cut off. It requires the energy of birth and prosperity to display its flourishing state.
The nayin sound element of Renxu is water that is inclined towards the storage position, and the nayin sound element of Guihai is water in the position of officialdom, together called great ocean water. Since both the heavenly stem and earthly branch belong to water, it is undesirable to see many waters again, even a water reservoir like Renchen cannot bear it. It does not fear other earths, but if it falls in a dead or doomed position, it is auspicious; if it falls in a thriving or flourishing position, it will overflow and have no place to go. The "Yuzhao Baodian" says: Hai and Zi are the proper positions for water, the water of Renxu is hidden and not smooth, only by using fire and earth to restrain and supplement can it become a great vessel; Guihai has the number of pure yin, its inner nature is extremely benevolent and kind, those who possess it have a peaceful and open mind, a noble spirit, and when they express it, they can achieve beneficial works for the people and nourish things; if the day pillar or hour pillar carriesInauspicious Sha (malevolent killers), it becomes a dangerous and cunning person.

The sixty Jiazi are all about grand and flourishing phenomena, which most dislike turning into small and weak ones; whereas small and weak phenomena hope to become grand and flourishing. This is like starting poor and lowly but later becoming wealthy and noble, which is glorious; starting wealthy and noble but later becoming poor and lowly, which is humble and disgraceful. One should not judge someone's later wealth and nobility just because he started poor and lowly; nor should one judge his later poverty and lowliness only based on his initial condition.
For example, if the heavenly stem and earthly branch of the year pillar belong to the wood element, such as Gengyin or Xinmao, the strength of wood is evident. If there is no other wood in the month, day, hour, and胎 pillars, it is considered as Songbai wood. However, if there is Yangliu wood or Shizhuo wood in the month, day, hour, and胎 pillars, then we should choose the smaller one and not consider it as Songbai wood. Conversely, for those born in Renwu or Guiwei years, the weakness of wood is evident. If there is no other wood in the month, day, hour, and胎 pillars, it is considered as Yangliu wood. However, if there is Songbai wood or Daling wood in the month, day, hour, and胎 pillars, then we should choose the larger one and not consider it as Yangliu wood.
By the same reasoning: those born with the destiny of great heavenly fire, sword-edged gold, great ocean water, and great驿站 earth, if they also have other similar nayin sounds in their month, day, hour, and fetal positions but with weak appearances; or those born with the destiny of covered lamp fire, golden foil gold, well spring water, and sandy soil earth, if they also have other similar nayin sounds in their month, day, hour, and fetal positions but with strong appearances, then they may either rise from ordinary to extraordinary, or change from heavy to light. One should judge according to their changing aspects, not be confined to one aspect only. This statement is from the "Broad Collection."
Explanation of the Favorable and Unfavorable Examples of the Sixty Jiazi
The column of Jiazi carries the auspicious deities "Advancing God," "Joyful God," and "Fuxing Star," while it is inauspicious to have "Pingtou," "Xuannin," and "Pozì." These latter terms are derived from the shape of the characters: those with evenly aligned strokes are called Pingtou, those with the final stroke hanging straight like a needle are called Xuannin, and those with broken shapes are called Pozì. The column of Yichou carries the auspicious deities "Fuxing Star," "Huagai," and "Zhengyin," while it is inauspicious to have "Qujiao" and "Quezì." The column of Bingyin carries the auspicious deity "Fuxing Star," but it is afflicted by "Luxing," and in terms of character shape, it is inauspicious to have "Pingtou" and "Lengya." The column of Dingmao is afflicted by "Pingtou" and "Jielu," and in terms of character shape, it is also Xuannin. The column of Wuchen carries "Luku" and "Huagai," and it is also the place where water destiny's禄 and 马 are stored, while it is afflicted by "Penghuo," "Fushen," and "Pingtou." The column of Jisi carries "Luku" and "Bazhuan," and in terms of character shape, it is inauspicious to have "Quezì" and "Qujiao."
Gengwu carries the Star of Good Fortune and official dignity, but is afflicted by the Star of Blockage, and also suffers from the忌 of捧祸 and悬针. Xinwei carries Huagai, and in its character form it is afflicted by悬针 and破字. Renshen is afflicted by平头, and also meets「大败」and obstacles, with character defects including聋哑,破字, and悬针. Guiyou carriesHidden God, and in its character form it is afflicted by破字 and聋哑. Jiaxu carries both the Star of Proper Seal and Huagai, two auspicious deities, but in its character form it is afflicted by平头,悬针, and破字, and also suffers from the忌 of捧杖. Yihai carries the贵神 of「天德」, and the only忌 it has is曲脚.
Bingzi has the blessing of the Star of Fortune and officials, but the character form violates the flat head and deaf-mute patterns, and also encounters the 'intersecting god' and 'flying blade'. And the Book of Metal for Fate Decisions
Bingxu Nayin belongs to earth, with abundant and deep fortune, because the fire energy is concentrated in Xu, and fire generates earth. The reasoning applies similarly to Jiwei, Gengchen, Wuchen, and Dingchou. Jiwei Nayin belongs to fire, as Wei contains the storage of wood, and wood generates fire; Gengchen Nayin belongs to metal, as Chen contains the storage of earth, and earth generates metal; Wuchen Nayin belongs to wood, as Chen contains the storage of water, and water generates wood; Dingchou Nayin belongs to water, as Chou contains the storage of metal, and metal generates water. These are all the energies of the parents that nourish me, each providing its own sustenance.
The Three Fate Compendium says: Why do these five groups have abundant fortune and strong official luck? Take Wuchen as an example. Chen is a water reservoir, and the wood of the Nayin sound element takes shape by borrowing the water's energy. The other four groups follow the same principle. These groups, even when encountering the 'ghost' that harms me, do not cause calamity, because their own energy is strong. Li Xuzhong said: Bingxu is especially unique, because Xu is originally the position of earth, and earth is exceptionally strong here.
Yisi and Wuwu are both extremely strong fire elements. If they are born in autumn or winter, they transform into warm and benevolent energy, resulting in good fortune. If they are born in spring or summer, they become harmful and injurious energy, leading to misfortune. If they appear in the middle of summer, the fire becomes fierce and explosive, quickly turning into dryness and heat, eventually causing self-destruction and disaster. Yisi is fire in the position of "Officialdom," with another layer of wood above it to nourish it, making the fire extremely intense. Wuwu is self-robust fire. If it is born in autumn or winter, it becomes warm and harmonious energy, possessing the virtue of benefiting all things. If it is born in spring or summer, the strong fire combined with strong energy, residing in a yang position, turns into misfortune. If it is born in midsummer, it becomes fierce and cruel, cutting and attacking like a blade, often leading to dangerous and short-lived outcomes.
The four combinations Yimao, Guisi, Dingyou, and Yihai involve water and fire that are in the state of death and decline, yet they appear clear and beautiful. When fire reaches the state of death, its inner essence is bright while its outer appearance is dark, and the light reflects back; when water reaches the state of death, it is clear and pure, able to reflect one's eyebrows and beard, thus appearing clear and beautiful. Li Xuzhong said: the water and fire in these four positions, although their energies have reached the end, are still clear and beautiful. One simply needs to look at the position where Tianyi Nobleman is located to understand this.
Renyin nayin belongs to metal, and as a subject it will not defy the sovereign; Gengshen nayin belongs to wood, and as a minister it will not be arrogant. This is because the five phases correspond to the five tones: the Gong tone belongs to earth and symbolizes the sovereign; the Shang tone belongs to metal and symbolizes the subject; the Jue tone belongs to wood and symbolizes the common people. If the Shang tone is excessive, the subject becomes overbearing; if the Jue tone is excessive, the sovereign becomes weak.
Therefore, among the five tones, the four clear palace tones are commonly used to suppress the Shang and Jue tones. Gengshen is the time when the Jue wood tone is in its terminal phase, and RENYIN is the time when the Shang metal tone is in its terminal phase. Both are thus regarded as following the path of loyalty and obedience, so it is said that serving the sovereign without defiance and being a minister without arrogance. Because of this, high officials above the level of the Zhongshu Province, Menxia Province, and Shangshu Province are most afraid of having a strong and flourishing metal and wood in their destiny. Such people are mostly unable to reach those positions, and even if they do, they cannot last long. Only those who hold positions as commentators or critics can still be acceptable. If metal and wood are strong and flourishing but are overcome and destroyed, then it is a different matter. This statement comes from the "Zhujing Jing."
The nayin sound element of Gengshen belongs to wood, and that of Yisi belongs to fire. They should be supported by earth and metal in these positions for growth, but they fail to grow. The nayin sound element of Bingwu belongs to water, and that of Guimao belongs to metal. They should die in these positions, but they do not die. Specifically, earth is supposed to grow in the position of Shen, but earth does not grow in Gengshen; water is supposed to grow in the position of Shen, but water does not grow in Wushen; fire is supposed to grow in the position of Yin, but fire does not grow in Jiayin; metal is supposed to grow in the position of Si, but metal does not grow in Yisi; and wood is supposed to grow in the position of Hai, but wood does not grow in Xinhai. All of these occur because in the positions where they should grow, they are instead restrained. People who encounter these in their fate are likely to have short lifespans.
In reverse: water dies at the卯 position, but water inGuimao does not die; earth dies at the卯 position, but earth inDingmao does not die; wood dies at the午 position, but wood inBingwu does not die; metal dies at the子 position, but metal inGengzi does not die; fire dies at the酉 position, but fire inXinyou does not die—because they all gain vitality at places where they should be dying. People with such combinations in their birth charts tend to live long lives.
The fire of Wuzi is found nowhere except on the body of a divine dragon; the water of Bingwu is found nowhere except in the Milky Way. The Wuzi stem and branch is strong in the north, which is the direction of water, yet its nayin sound element belongs to fire, thus it is fire within water. Such fire exists only on the divine dragon. The Bingwu stem and branch is strong in the south, which is the direction of fire, yet its nayin sound element belongs to water, thus it is water within fire. Such water exists only in the Milky Way. A person born in the year of Wuzi who has Bingwu in their destiny, or a person born in the year of Bingwu who has Wuzi in their destiny, will surely achieve great success. This is because water is born from fire and fire contains water, thus both water and fire are complete. The mind and spirit will surely be sharp and surpass ordinary people. This statement comes from the "Hu Zhong Zi."
Li Xuzhong said: Bingwu is heavenly water, found only in the Milky Way, which is the "Heavenly Empress" among the twelve divine generals; those who possess it have wide social connections, broad minds, and extraordinary intelligence. Wuzi is fire within water, found only by the divine dragon, which is the sovereign fire among the six energies; those who possess it naturally have clear insight and can perceive the underlying causes of things before they manifest. Those who possess both kinds of energy are especially remarkable. All other energies should be examined in the same way.
Xinchou earth does not mind being attacked by wood, and Wuxu wood does not fear being attacked by metal. How can we distinguish this principle? In Xinchou, there is a hidden metal repository, which can control wood, so wood cannot act as a 'ghost' that harms it. In Wuxu, there is hidden fire, which can control metal, so metal ends up being harmed instead. As for the wood in Wuxu, there are two layers of earth in the heavenly stem and earthly branch above, and one layer of nayin wood below, buried beneath two layers of earth, not yet sprouting or showing any form. This is a case of strong earth and weak wood. The rest can be understood in the same way.
Gengyin's Nayin sound element belongs to wood, and Dingsi's Nayin sound element belongs to earth, and neither fears metal or wood, which are the "ghosts" thatrestrain them. Although metal in the寅 position is considered the ghost of wood, metal has already lost its strength there, so it cannot act as a ghost. Wood in the巳 position is weakened by the fire's life qi in巳, so it cannot act as a ghost for earth. However, if Gengyin meets Renshen, then metal comes to clash andrestrain it. The rest follows the same pattern. The earth of Gengwu benefits from the strong fire of the south to nourish itself, and the earth of Wushen is in its growth phase. The earth of Gengzi is naturally full. None of these fear the ghosts thatrestrain them, because wood dies in the午 position, is extinguished in the申 position, and fails in the子 position. These strong earths have no harm from them. The rest follows the same pattern.
Renshen, Guiyou, Gengxu, and Xinhai are four groups of metal that are strong and powerful, not afraid of the ghosts that can harm them. The fire of Wuzi is also not afraid of its ghosts, because it is lightning fire in water, which only the dragon can produce; thunder can only sound when there is water. However, if it meets Bingwu and Dingwei, which are heavenly water, there will be some taboos, and a battle between the two will occur. Generally, if the heavenly stem and earthly branch of one's birth chart are injured, it indicates that the person has deficiencies in the six roots and is unable to complete tasks. For example, Dingsi meets Guihai, Renzi meets Wuzi, and the rest follow the same pattern. This statement comes from the "San Ming Zuanju."
Wuwu and Gengshen, regardless of which side obtains the other, indicate extraordinary excellence. Gengshen is the mulberry wood, which is strongest in summer, so it prefers Wuwu: at that time, the official star which controls it is flourishing, and the nature of mulberry wood is exactly in season. Wuwu is fire at its peak, and it prefers to meet the Star of Movement at the position of Shen.
The concept of "shen tou lu" refers to the禄 (favorable position) of each of the ten heavenly stems, which are their respective positions of authority. This is where yin and yang each occupy their proper place, and where the spirits of heaven and earth gather. It outlines the origin of the eight trigrams, predicts the success or failure of the five phases, and shows how hardness and softness interact, and presence and absence transform into each other. Therefore, the water of Renzi corresponds to the north trigram Kan; the fire of Bingwu is actually the south trigram Li. Because of this, Bingwu meeting Renzi does not count as a destruction, and Dingsi meeting Guihai does not count as a conflict. This is the source of the harmony between water and fire, reflecting the principle of a husband and wife being matched. Kan and Li represent the mutual interaction of male and female energies; however, when Renzi meets Bingwu or Guihai meets Dingsi, it is water first followed by fire, which resembles the imagery of the hexagram "Wei Ji" (The Last), indicating an unfinished matter. This is not as good as when Dingsi meets Renzi or Bingwu meets Guihai.
Gengshen and Xinyou metal correspond to the West's Dui trigram; Jiayin and Yimao wood symbolize the East's Zhen trigram. Therefore, Jiayin meeting Gengshen does not count as mutual harm, and Yimao meeting Xinyou does not count as a ghost that harms me. This is the proper relationship where wood represents a woman and metal represents a husband, clearly showing the interaction between the trigrams on both sides. Wood governs the soul, and metal governs the spirit, both residing on the left and right respectively, separated but not combined. If they can fully harmonize, the transformation of the divine would have no interruption. As for Gengshen meeting Yimao or Xinyou meeting Jiayin, they should not be regarded as Yuanchen, aInauspicious Spirit. This is the principle of flexible application.
When Wuchen meets Wuxu, it is the meeting of "Kui Gang," embodying the profound virtue of Heaven and Earth, like Heaven covering and Earth supporting, encompassing and generating all things. It should not be regarded as ainauspicious sign of "Fan Yin." Wuchen and Wuxu do not conflict because the earth elements are in their proper positions and the heavenly stems are in their original conjunction. Similarly, Jichou and Jiwei are also virtuous, with the noble spirits in their proper places and unwavering loyalty. These four combinations are the true earth elements of the four directions, Chén, Xū, Chǒu, and Mèi, embodying the principle of the beginning and end of all things. Who but a person of great virtue and reputation could possess such virtue? Moreover, each of the heavenly stems and earthly branches has its own divine guardian, operating within the scope of Liu He, expanding or contracting according to fortune and misfortune.
The earth of Ji Chou is where the Tianyi Nobleman resides. According to the Yuzhao Baodian, the Tianyi Nobleman lives in the Purple Micro Enclosure and his home is Ji Chou. The earth of Ji Wei is the deity of the Imperial Sacrifice and can resolve variousInauspicious Sha, and if one's destiny includes it, it is considered a fortunate omen for gaining wealth and profit. The earth of Wu Chen is the deity Gou Chen, and the earth of Wu Xu is the deity Star of Emptiness. These two earth deities often indicate a swift and aggressive nature, indicating a person who leads troops abroad, governs border defenses, and has unpredictable movements, rarely able to settle into a stable position.
Dingsi is the deity of the serpent, which brings about calamity when encountering misfortune and promotes good fortune when encountering auspiciousness. It often leads to confusion and disturbances, and the nature is humorous and skilled in argument. Bingwu is the deity of the Vermilion Bird, corresponding to the nature of yang energy and brightness, with eloquent and ornate speech. Jiayin is the deity of the Azure Dragon, capable of widely bestowing benefits and aiding many people, thus gaining advantages from all directions. Yimao is the deity of Liu He, governing growth and prosperity, with a gentle disposition, skilled in supporting the weak and harmonizing with peers. Renzi is the deity of the Heavenly Empress, governing secret virtue accumulation and corresponding to the Star of Virtue and Resolution, with beautiful appearance and great authority.
Guihai is the spirit of Xuanwu, located at the ultimate point of yin and yang, containing hidden energy, like water flowing downward from above; such people may possess great wisdom, but they are not noble and enlightened individuals. In favorable conditions, they are calm and peaceful, but in adverse conditions, they tend toward deceitfulness. Gengshen is the spirit of Baihu, favorable for martial skills but not for scholarly pursuits. Their nature is to adhere to their own path, leading to a solitary and wandering life. They are kind inside but stern on the outside, appearing strong but actually insecure. They value benevolence and righteousness but prefer secluded places. Xinyou is the spirit of Taiyin, carrying a spirit of severity, with a clean reputation. They are rare talents with outstanding literary skills and sharp eloquence. However, one must also consider intimacy and distance, as well as prosperity and decline, to determine the nature and fortune of those encountering these combinations. This statement is from the "Ghost Valley Legacy."
