甲木屬陽，乃棟樑之材。喜生秋冬，遇申子月為吉。柱見庚辛，譬斧鑿之論，主名利。運行申酉辰戌丑未鄉，大能發越，見辛官尤妙。忌寅午戌合局及透丁火傷官，乃辛苦勞力、作事無成之命，運逢亦不順。若合局丁透，有辰戌丑未，干上露戊己，再行財運，傷官生財，卻發大福。乙木屬陰，為生氣之木，遇春生而花葉茂盛，亦喜生於小春之令。逢亥卯未甲子辰二局更行北運，雖透丙丁庚辛，亦不妨。所忌寅午戌火，巳酉丑多，多傷殘，再行南運，主夭無疑。甲乙貴乎木得宜，要知金水旺為奇。

Jia wood is yang in nature and is like the material for beams and pillars. It prefers to be born in autumn or winter. If born in the month of Shen or Zi, it is favorable. If there is Geng or Xin metal in the pillar, it is like having axes and chisels for processing, which indicates success in achieving fame and fortune. If the person's fortune moves towards Shen, You, or the earth and metal months such as Chen, Xu, Chou, or Wei, it is very beneficial. Seeing Xin metal as the official is especially good. However, it is unfavorable to have the combination of Yin, Wu, and Xu forming a fire trinity, or having Ding fire as the official in the sky. This leads to hard work with no success, and even if the fortune moves in that direction, it is not smooth. If the fire trinity is already formed and Ding fire is visible in the sky, but there are Chen, Xu, Chou, or Wei in the pillar, and Wu or Ji earth is visible in the sky, and then the fortune moves towards wealth, it becomes a case of official being born by the official, which is actually very prosperous. Yi wood is yin in nature and is formed by the growth energy. It thrives when born in spring, and also prefers to be born in the small spring month of October. If it forms a trinity with Hai, Mao, and Wei, or with Shen, Zi, and Chen (originally written as Jiazichen), and then moves towards the northern direction, even if there is Bing or Ding fire or Geng or Xin metal visible in the sky, it is not a problem. The main concern is the formation of the fire trinity or having too much metal in the form of Si, You, and Chou. This often leads to physical disabilities. If the fortune then moves towards the southern direction, it is certain to result in an early death. The rule says: Jia and Yi are both important, and the key is for wood to be in its proper place. One should know that strong metal and water are particularly special.

春從南往秋歸北，冬夏西行發福基。甲乙日生人，身坐已酉丑申戌金鄉，運行宜土金分野。若生寅卯辰不結木局，宜時引歸土金分野，大貴。行運亦然。則官長遠。若生巳酉丑申月，時引歸亥卯未寅，取貴非此時者，乃過與不及，卻要運行水木局分野，否則貧儒。柱中原有財星，怕比劫分奪；原無財星，不畏。如木得金而成器，仁者有勇；金得木而成材，勇者必仁，是乃剛柔相濟，陰陽相停。運行卻喜財官，若有木無金，則庚辛虧而義寡；有金無火，即勇而無禮，則亂金太盛。

A rule says: Those born in spring should go south, those born in autumn should go north, and those born in winter or summer should go west, which is the foundation for prosperity. Those born on Jia or Yi days, if their day branch is in Si, You, Chou, Shen, or Xu (metal triad), their fortune should follow the fields of earth and metal. If born in Yin, Mao, or Chen months but not forming a wood triad, they should use the hour to guide the energy towards the fields of earth and metal, which indicates great wealth. Their fortune should also follow the same path, so their official position can last long. If born in Si, You, Chou, or Shen months, they should use the hour to guide the energy towards Hai, Mao, Wei, or Yin (wood triad) for wealth. If not in these hours, it is either excessive or insufficient, and they must follow the fields of water and wood for fortune, otherwise they will be poor scholars. If the column originally has wealth stars, they fear siblings or thieves who take away the wealth; if there is no wealth star originally, they are not afraid. Wood needs metal to be shaped into an object, and a kind-hearted person will then have courage. Metal needs wood to show its usefulness, and a brave person will then have kindness, which is the balance of hardness and softness, yin and yang. Their fortune should favor wealth and official positions. If there is wood but no metal, the meaning of Geng and Xin (metal) is missing, and the person lacks righteousness. If there is metal but no fire, it is just bravery without propriety, and the metal energy becomes too chaotic and strong.

而無水則枯木太多，而無金則繁，是金木各不一也。偏陰偏陽，難名之命，縱遇財官，亦不發達。六甲日用辛為正官，庚為偏官，戊巳為財。如年月時中透出戊巳辛字，生三秋四季及金土局，財官有用。如不透出三字，只生三秋四季及金土局，亦作財官論。見甲乙奪財，丙丁傷官，名利艱難。若生春夏及火木局，財官無氣，雖得滋助，名利亦輕。喜行西方四季金土分野向官臨財之運，不喜東南木火傷官敗財之地。若四柱庚辛俱見，謂之官煞混雜，無去留制伏，反主貧賤。如主貧賤。

But without water, there would be too many dry trees; without metal, the branches and leaves would be too abundant: this shows that metal and wood each have different functions. If one is overly inclined toward yin or yang, it becomes a difficult destiny, and even if wealth and official positions are encountered, success is not assured. Among the six days marked by Jia, the proper official is Xin, the ministerial official is Geng, and Wu and Ji are considered wealth. If the year, month, or hour reveals Wu, Ji, or Xin, and the person is born in the third month of autumn, the fourth, or fifth month, or if there is a formation of metal and earth, then wealth and official positions are useful. Even if these three characters are not revealed, as long as the person is born in the third month of autumn, the fourth, or fifth month, or in a formation of metal and earth, they are still considered to have wealth and official positions. If甲 and乙 appear to compete for wealth, or if丙 and丁 act as injurious officials, then fame and fortune will be difficult to achieve. If born in spring or summer or in a formation of fire and wood, wealth and official positions lack vitality, and even if they are supported, fame and fortune will be light. It is favorable to travel in the western direction and the four seasons' regions of metal and earth, facing the official star, and approaching the wealth star. It is not favorable to travel in the southeast region where wood and fire injure and destroy wealth. If both Geng and Xin appear in the four pillars, it is called a mixture of official and harmful stars; if there is no method to remove or control them, it leads to poverty and low status.

如只有庚，不見制伏，當作鬼論，分身鬼強弱定其吉凶壽夭。若制伏得中，作偏官論；太過反不為福。更看日干於所生月內有力無力有助無助，分節氣淺深輕重言之。喜行身旺鬼衰運，忌身衰鬼旺運。六乙日用戊為正財，巳偏財，庚為正官，辛偏官，若年月時上透出戊巳庚字，生三秋；四季及金土局，財官有用。如不透此三字，生三秋四季及金土局，亦作財官論。見甲乙奪財，丙傷官，名利艱難，若生春夏及火木局，縱有財官，無氣；雖得滋助，亦輕。喜行西方四季金土分野向官臨財，忌行火木之地，傷官敗財。怕官煞混雜，有煞無制，鬼論；制太過不及也，皆不為福。更詳日干於所生月內有無力助，分輕重言之。運喜忌同上。

If only the庚 (Geng) is present but not restrained, it should be considered as a ghost, and one must distinguish the strength between the day stem and the ghost, and determine fortune or misfortune, longevity or short life accordingly. If the restraint is just right, it is considered as a partial official. If the restraint is excessive, it fails to bring good fortune. One should also examine whether the day stem is strong or weak in the month it is born, and whether it has support or not, considering the depth and intensity of the solar term. One should favor a period where the day stem is strong and the ghost is weak, and avoid a period where the day stem is weak and the ghost is strong. On six days of the second stem (乙), the fifth stem (戊) is considered the main wealth, the sixth stem (己) is considered the secondary wealth, the seventh stem (庚) is considered the main official, and the eighth stem (辛) is considered the secondary official. If the stems of the year, month, and hour reveal the fifth, sixth, and seventh stems, and the person is born in the autumn months, the fourth season, or in a metal and earth combination, then wealth and official positions are useful. If these three stems are not revealed, but the person is born in the autumn months, the fourth season, or in a metal and earth combination, it is still considered as wealth and official positions. If the first and second stems (甲 and 乙) compete for wealth, and the third stem (丙) acts as a harmful official, then fame and fortune will be difficult to achieve. If the person is born in spring or summer or in a fire and wood combination, even if wealth and official positions are present, they will lack vitality, and even if they are supported, their strength will be weak. One should favor the western direction and the areas of metal and earth, where officials are present and wealth is obtained, and avoid the areas of fire and wood which harm wealth and damage official positions. One should fear the confusion of officials and harmful influences. If harmful influences are present but not restrained, they should be considered as ghosts. If the restraint is excessive or insufficient, it will not bring good fortune. One should also carefully examine whether the day stem has strength and support in the month it is born, and determine based on the intensity. The favor and avoidance of the period of life are the same as above.

丙火屬陰，乃太陽之正氣，能生萬物。喜生春夏月間，自然成就精神百倍。更遇天月二德，行東方運，大妙。雖見壬癸水，不妨。惟忌戊土透露，減其分數。大運，歲君相犯，官府刑獄，破財喪服。生於秋冬，更遇夜時，地支，再合水局，非僕即從，一生離別孤獨，貧夭殘疾。丁火屬陰，為凡火，可制萬物。金銀銅鐵，不得丁制，不能成器，喜生夜聞，巳酉丑月令為妙。正月逢寅，乃天德印元，更得卯字最好。忌壬癸水。如日生，多克妻子。遇南方運，剝官退職；行西北方運，貴。

Bing fire is yang (the original text says 'yin'), representing the pure essence of the sun, capable of nurturing all things. It thrives in the months of spring and summer, leading to success in all endeavors and great vitality; if it also meets the Heavenly Virtue and Monthly Virtue, and travels through the Eastern direction, it is extremely favorable. Even if it meets Ren and Gui water, it is not harmful, but it should avoid Wu earth appearing, as this would reduce its strength. If the big destiny and the current year's heavenly stem clash, it indicates trouble with the authorities, legal punishment, loss of wealth, and mourning. If it is born in autumn or winter and occurs during the night, with the earth branches forming a water pattern, it will not become a servant but a follower, leading to a life of separation, loneliness, poverty, short lifespan, and many disabilities. Ding fire is yin, representing the fire of the human world, capable of subduing all things: gold, silver, copper, and iron cannot become useful objects without the forging of Ding fire. It prefers to be born at night, with the Si-You-Chou months being most favorable. In the first month, if it meets寅, it has the root of Heavenly Virtue and the official position, and if it also meets卯, it is even better. It should avoid Ren and Gui water. If it is born during the day, it tends to harm the wife. Traveling through the Southern direction leads to loss of official position and retirement; traveling through the Northwest direction brings honor.

丙丁日主火為根，金水二星是福源，行運若臨西與北，縱然富貴不周全。丙丁日，自坐申子辰亥水位，又引歸金時。如生寅午巳月，為水火既濟，大貴。夏五月，忌三合火局，火炎水干。冬子月，忘三合水局，水盛火滅。水火相停，斯成既濟。大運宜金水分野，卻忌過與不及，偏陰偏陽，苗而不秀。若生申子辰亥月，須要寅午戌巳時取貴。非此時者，行木運方好，否則虛名不貴。六丙日用庚辛為財，癸正官，壬偏官。若年月時中透出庚辛癸字，生秋冬金水局中，財官有用。

A rule says: For those born on a day with Jia or Yi as the stem, fire is the fundamental element, and the metal and water stars are the sources of fortune. If one's fortune comes to the west or north, even if they are rich and noble, they cannot be complete. For those born on a day with Jia or Yi as the stem, if their day branch is in Shen, Zi, Chen, or Hai (water positions), and their hour stem is metal, it will bring the qi back. If they are born in the months of Yin, Wu, or Si, it is called Water and Fire in Harmony, indicating great fortune. In summer, during the fifth month, one should avoid the Triple Harmony of fire, as it will cause fire to be too intense and water to dry up. In winter, during the first month, one should avoid the Triple Harmony of water, as it will cause water to be too strong and fire to be extinguished. Only when water and fire are balanced can it be called Water and Fire in Harmony. The big fortune should go to the metal, water, and earth elements, but one should avoid excess or deficiency. If it is too yin or too yang, it is like a crop that has ears but no grain. If one is born in the months of Shen, Zi, Chen, or Hai, they need to be born in the hours of Yin, Wu, Xu, or Si to achieve high status. If not, they should go through the wood element fortune, otherwise they will have only a hollow reputation without real status. For the six days of Jia, the wealth is represented by Geng and Xin, the official is represented by Ji, and the minister is represented by Ren. If Geng, Xin, and Ji appear in the year, month, or hour, and one is born in the autumn or winter with the metal and water elements, then the wealth and official positions will be useful.

如不透此三字，生秋冬金水局中，亦作財官論。見丙丁奪財，已為傷官，名利艱難。若生九夏四季火土局中，縱有財官，無氣；雖得滋助，亦輕。喜行西北金水分野，向官臨財之運。若柱中壬癸俱見，官煞混雜，無制反賤。如有壬無癸，不見制，當作鬼論。要分身鬼強弱，定其吉凶壽夭。制伏得中，作偏官用；太過，反不為福。更詳日干於所生月內，有力無力，有救無救，分節氣輕重言之。喜行身旺鬼衰之運，忌行身衰鬼旺之鄉。六丁日用庚辛為財，壬為正官，癸為偏官。

If the three characters do not appear, as long as one is born in the autumn or winter with a metal and water environment, it is still considered as wealth and official position. If there is丙 or丁 to take away wealth, and 己 soil as a damaging official, then fame and fortune will be difficult. If born in the summer or the third month or the fourth season month with a fire and soil environment, even if there is wealth and official position, it will lack strength, and even with support, the power is weak. It is favorable to travel in the northwest metal and water areas and to have official position and wealth in the direction of the official. If both 壬 and 癸 are present in the pillar, it is considered as a mixture of official and harmful stars, which without control leads to poverty and low status. If there is 壬 but no 癸, and there is no control, it should be considered as a ghost, and the fortune should be determined by the strength of the day stem and the ghost. If the control is appropriate, it is considered as a partial official; if the control is too much, it will not bring happiness. It is also necessary to examine whether the day stem is strong or weak in the month it is born, and whether it is supported or not, according to the weight of the solar term. It is favorable to travel in the path where the body is strong and the ghost is weak, and unfavorable to travel in the path where the body is weak and the ghost is strong. For six days with 丁, 庚 and 辛 are considered as wealth, 壬 is considered as the official, and 癸 is considered as the partial official.

若年月時中透出庚辛壬字，生秋冬金水局中，財官有用。如不透此三字，生秋冬金水局，亦作財官論。見丙丁奪財，戊傷官，名利艱辛。若生九夏四季火土局中，縱有財官，無氣；雖得滋助，亦輕，喜行西北及金水分野，忌傷官敗財運。怕官煞混雜，有煞無制，鬼論；制太過，貧。更詳日干於所生月內有無力助，分輕重言之。運喜忌同上。

If the heavenly stems of the year, month, or hour include Jia, Yi, Bing, Ding, Wu, Ji, Geng, Xin, Ren, or Gui, and the person is born in the autumn or winter with a metal and water environment, then wealth and official positions will be useful. If these three stems are not present, but the person is still born in the autumn or winter with a metal and water environment, it is still considered as having wealth and official positions. If there are Bing and Ding that take away wealth, or Wu earth that acts as a harmful official, then fame and fortune will be difficult to achieve. If born in the summer or the third month or the fourth season with a fire and earth environment, even if there is wealth and official positions, they will lack strength, and even if they are supported, their strength will be weak. It is favorable to travel in the northwest and metal and water environments, and unfavorable to travel in the paths of harmful officials and wealth loss. Fear of mixed officials and harmful influences, if there is a harmful influence without control, it is considered as a ghost; if it is controlled too much, then poverty will result. It is also necessary to carefully examine whether the day stem has strength and support in the month it was born, and to determine the importance accordingly. The favorable and unfavorable aspects of traveling will be the same as above.

戊土如屬陽，乃堤岸城牆之土，止能拒水，不能種養萬物。凡城堤不有刑沖破害，人民得安，喜甲乙木，以煞化印之地。忌行西方運，縱發而當破當憂。要火生扶，嫌水剋制。戊己重犯，名利兩失；辛庚迭逢，作事進退。己土屬陰，為田地山園之土，可以種養萬物，要刑沖破害，即耕鑿之論。喜生春夏辰巳之鄉，乃官印之地。更不值傷官損印。發福，主為人好置造田豐盈。行東北方運，尤妙。更兼亥卯未木，決主富貴，人物穩厚，大寬小急。值辰戌丑未，乃背祿逐馬及劫財刑傷，破耗訟服不一。

The heavenly stem Wu (戊) is yang earth, representing earth like embankments and city walls, which can only block water but cannot cultivate all things. If city walls and embankments are not subject to punishments and clashes, the people will enjoy peace and stability. Therefore, Wu earth prefers the heavenly stems Jia (甲) and Yi (乙), which are places where evil is transformed into a beneficial influence. It dislikes the western direction, and even if success is achieved, there will be worries and misfortunes. Wu earth needs fire to generate and support it, and it dislikes water which restrains it. If there are many Wu and Ji (己) stems together, fame and fortune will be lost. If there are alternating stems Xin (辛) and Geng (庚), actions will be uncertain and indecisive. Ji earth is yin earth, representing fields and gardens, which can cultivate all things. It needs punishments and clashes, just like plowing and digging. It is favorable to be born in spring and summer or in the earthly branches Chen (辰) and Si (巳), which are places of official stars and beneficial influences. If it does not meet the harmful stars or damage the beneficial influences, it will bring blessings, indicating a person who likes to acquire land and property, and who has abundant wealth. Traveling in the northeast direction is especially beneficial; if combined with the wood triad Hai-Mao-Wei, it will surely lead to wealth and honor, with a character that is steady, solid, and dignified, broad-minded in great matters but impetuous in small ones. If it encounters the earthly branches Chen (辰), Xu (戌), Chou (丑), or Wei (未), it indicates a reversal of fortune and loss of official status, leading to continuous losses, legal disputes, and mourning.

戊己日干尋水木，柱中原有還為福。運臨北野及東方，德潤身兮富潤屋。戊己日生，坐下亥卯寅位，為勾陳得位。運行宜水木分野。生亥子月，要引辰戌丑未巳午時，若生辰戌丑未巳午月，要引亥子時為貴。蓋土得木而疏通，木賴土而培養。若木重而土少，則崩；土重而無木，乃頑濁無用之土。巳日丑年月，西方不吉，南方大顯。六戊日，除戊戌為魁罡，其財官喜忌，論子日下。其餘戊子、戊午、戊申、戊寅、戊辰五日，用壬癸為財，乙正官，甲偏官。若年月時中透壬癸乙字，生春冬水木局中，財官有用，不透此三字，生春冬及水木局中，亦作財官論。

A rule says: On days with the stem Wu or Ji, one should look for water and wood. If these elements are already present in the pillar, it brings good fortune. When the fortune moves to the north or east directions, virtue can nourish the person and wealth can enrich the house. For those born on days with the stem Wu or Ji, if the day branch is in the position of Hai, Mao, or Yin, it is called "Gou Chen in its proper place," and the fortune should move in the areas of water and wood. Those born in the month of Hai or Zi should use the hours of Chen, Xu, Chou, Wei, Si, or Wu to bring fortune. If born in the months of Chen, Xu, Chou, Wei, Si, or Wu, they should be guided to the hours of Hai or Zi to achieve status. Because earth needs wood to be unblocked, and wood relies on earth to be cultivated. If there is too much wood and little earth, the earth will collapse. If there is too much earth and no wood, it becomes stubborn and useless. Those born on the year or month of Chou, with Ji as the day stem, should avoid the western direction and benefit from the southern direction. Among the six days of Wu, except for Wu Xu which belongs to the Qiu Ganga and its wealth and official matters are discussed separately in the section on Qiu Ganga days, the other five days: Wu Zi, Wu Wu, Wu Shen, Wu Yin, and Wu Chen, take Ren and Gui as wealth, Yi as the official, and Jia as the biased official. If the year, month, or hour reveals Ren, Gui, or Yi, and the person is born in spring or winter or in a water and wood structure, the wealth and official matters will be useful. If these three characters are not revealed, but the person is born in spring or winter or in a water and wood structure, it is still considered as wealth and official matters.

見戊己奪財， 辛傷官，名利艱難。若生三秋四季及金土局，財官無氣，雖得滋助，亦輕。喜行東北方水木分野、向官臨財之運，忌行四季西方敗財傷官之地。若柱透甲乙，官煞混雜，無制反賤。如無乙有甲，無制，當作鬼論。要分身鬼強弱，定其吉凶壽夭。制伏中和，作偏官用；太過，反不為福。更詳日干於所生月內有力無力，有救無救，分節氣淺深輕重言之。喜身旺鬼衰運，忌身衰鬼旺運。六己日用壬癸為財，甲正乙偏官。若年月時透壬癸甲字，生春冬水木局，財官有氣。

When the Wu and Ji stems come to take away wealth, and the Xin metal acts as a harmful official, fame and fortune will be difficult to achieve. If one is born in the third month of autumn, the fourth season month, or in a metal and earth combination, the wealth and official positions will lack vitality, even if they are supported, their strength will be weak. It is favorable to travel through the Northeast region where water and wood are found, and where the official position and wealth are present. It is unfavorable to travel through the fourth season month or the western region where wealth is lost and the harmful official is present. If the stem of the day is revealed with Jia or Yi, it indicates a mixture of official and harmful official, which without control leads to poverty and low status. If there is no Yi but there is Jia, and there is no control, it should be considered as a ghost, and one must distinguish the strength of the day stem and the ghost to determine fortune and misfortune, longevity and short life. When the control is moderate and harmonious, it is treated as a partial official; if the control is excessive, it will not bring happiness. One should also carefully examine whether the day stem is strong or weak in the month it is born, whether it is saved or not, and explain according to the depth, lightness, and weight of the solar term. It is favorable to travel through a period where the body is strong and the ghost is weak, and unfavorable to travel through a period where the body is weak and the ghost is strong. For the six days of Ji, the Ren and Gui are considered wealth, Jia is the official, and Yi is the harmful official. If the year, month, and hour reveal Ren, Gui, and Jia, and one is born in spring or winter or in a water and wood combination, the wealth and official positions will have vitality.

如不透此三字，生春冬水木局，亦作財官論。見戊己奪財，庚傷官，名利艱難。若生三秋四季及金土局中，縱有財官，無氣；雖得滋助，亦輕。喜行東北水木分野，忌傷官敗財運。怕官煞混雜，有煞無制，鬼論；制太過，貧。更詳日干於所生月內有無力助，分輕重言之。運喜忌同上。

If the three characters are not revealed, as long as the person is born in the spring or winter water and wood cycle, it is still considered according to the wealth and official positions. If there is a struggle for wealth due to the presence of Wu and Ji, or if Geng metal functions as a official position, then fame and fortune will be difficult to achieve. If born in the autumn months, the fourth season months, or in a metal and earth cycle, even if there is wealth and official position, it lacks strength. Although it may receive some support, its power is weak. It is favorable to travel through the Northeast region of water and wood, and unfavorable to the official position and destruction of wealth. It is feared that the official position and harmful stars are mixed together; if there is a harmful star without control, it is considered as a ghost; if it is controlled too much, then poverty will result. It is also necessary to carefully examine whether the day stem has strength and support in the month it was born, and to determine the importance accordingly. The favorable and unfavorable aspects of the journey are the same as above.

庚金屬陽，乃金銀銅鐵之類，稟太陽而成。要見丁火制之，方能成器。如見丙火，遇而不遇。喜行東南火木之運，明亮，金得制。如值寅卯臨於甲乙，及己午未官星印元得氣之鄉，皆是發越。惟居西北方，為金瀋水底，是不能成器。辛金屬陰，乃水銀硃砂赤碧珍珠之類，秉日精月華秀氣結成。最要金清水秀、土氣豐厚地方，並西北方運。如行辰戌巳東南運，五行四柱不見丁火為妙，見則不能成其器。如珠墜爐之喻，秀而不實。尤恐寅午戌成局煞旺，要身強乃當其旺，柱有亥卯未，更見丙丁透，行午未運，發福。

Heavenly stem Geng is metal of the Yang type, representing metals such as gold, silver, copper, and iron, formed by receiving the energy of the sun. It requires the presence of Ding fire for forging and shaping, and the presence of Bing fire is considered as if it were not there. It is favorable to be in the Southeast direction of fire and wood, which brightens the metal and provides the necessary forging. If it encounters Yin and Mao, or the official stars and educational influences of Si, Wu, and Wei, it can achieve success and recognition. However, if it is located in the Northwest, the metal sinks into water and cannot be shaped into an object. Heavenly stem Xin is metal of the Yin type, representing substances such as mercury, cinnabar, red jade, and pearls, formed by the condensation of refined essence from the sun and moon. It is most suitable to be in a place with clear water and rich earth, and it is favorable to be in the Northwest direction. If it is in the Southeast direction of Chen, Xu, and Si, the four pillars should not have Ding fire, as its presence would prevent it from being shaped, similar to a pearl falling into a furnace, which is beautiful but not solid. It especially fears the combination of Yin, Wu, and Xu forming a fire trinity, which would make the fire strong. In such a case, a strong body is needed to withstand the strong fire. If the four pillars contain Hai, Mao, and Wei, and Bing or Ding fire is visible, then traveling through Wu and Wei directions can bring good fortune.

巳酉丑成金局，為溫厚造化，行東方運，大吉；不宜南。庚辛日主號金干，木火相生福自專。年月時中如會合，東西運步定居官。庚辛日生，坐下寅午戌巳火，又生寅午戌月，要引金土時，貴。秋三月及季冬或十一月，引木火旺時，大貴。運行木火分野，忌過與不及，偏陽偏陰，則苗而不秀。若通火月氣，非巳酉丑申時不貴。運金土則吉。比肩三合，成金局，金盛火微。喜行木火之運。故金非火不能成其器，火無金無以顯其用。金火相停，方為乘軒衣冕。若火太炎而無土，則金必敗；有土則為鑄印之象，陶熔革化而成器，大人之命也，火多金少，金盛火微，皆兇暴之輩。

The combination of Si, You, and Chou forms a metal triad, which is a harmonious and warm transformation. It is very auspicious to travel the Eastern direction, but not suitable to travel the Southern direction. The secret says: those born on Geng and Xin days, known as the metal stem, benefit from the mutual generation of wood and fire, leading to natural and concentrated blessings. If the year, month, and hour can form a harmonious combination, traveling East or West will surely lead to official positions. For people born on Geng and Xin days, if their day branch is located in Yin, Wu, Xu, or other fire positions, and they are born in the month of Yin, Wu, or Xu, they should be guided by the hour of metal or earth, which indicates nobility. If they are born in the autumn months, late winter, or the eleventh month, they should be guided by the hour of wood or fire, which indicates great nobility. Traveling in the direction of wood and fire should avoid excess or deficiency; being overly yang or yin is like crops that sprout but do not bear fruit. If the fire month's energy is connected, those not born in Si, You, Chou, or Shen hours will not be noble, but traveling in the direction of metal and earth will be auspicious. If the same stem forms a metal triad, the metal is strong and the fire is weak, then it is favorable to travel in the direction of wood and fire. Therefore, metal cannot be formed without fire, and fire cannot display its function without metal; only when metal and fire are balanced can one achieve high status and honor. If fire is too intense without earth, the metal will certainly be ruined; with earth, it becomes the image of casting seals, transformed through firing and shaping into an object, which is the destiny of great people. Too much fire and too little metal, or too strong metal and weak fire, are signs of fierce and violent people.

六庚日除庚戌庚辰為魁罡，財官喜忌，論於日下，庚申、庚寅、庚午、庚子四日，用甲乙為財，丁正官，丙偏官。若年月時透甲乙丁字，生春夏火木局中，財官有用；如不透此三字，生春夏火木局，亦作財官論。見庚辛奪財，壬癸傷官，名利艱難。如生秋冬金水中，財官無氣，雖得滋助，亦輕。喜行東南木火分野、向官臨財之運，不喜行西北金水分野、傷官敗財之運。若柱有丙丁，官煞混雜，煞無制反賤。如無丁有丙，無制，作鬼論。要分身鬼強弱，定其吉凶壽夭。制伏得中，作偏官論；制過，反不為福。

If the column contains both Bing and Ding, it is considered as a mixture of official positions, and without control, it leads to poverty and low status. If there is no Ding but Bing is present, and there is no control, it is considered as a ghost, and the fortune must be determined by comparing the strength of the day's ruler and the ghost. If the ghost is properly controlled, it is considered as a biased official position; if controlled too much, it will not bring good fortune.

壬水屬陽，乃甘澤長流之水，能滋生草木，長養萬物。獨喜春夏生人，秋冬值令，則無生意。若見寅午戌官星，得生助之氣，名譽自彰。金局生八月，名利兩遂，水局生三月，為天德主貴。地支亥卯未，行南方運，發財。癸水屬陰，乃大海無涯之水，不能生長萬物。一雲雨露潤澤之水，滋助萬物。喜春秋間，運行巳午戌地，發福非常。大忌辰戌丑未運，成敗。地支亥卯未合，傷旺益財。無寅甲，亦發名利，如見己土丑未月，更帶三刑，平常衣祿，初中未濟，終末榮發。若五行有救，身旺，運喜財官，亦主貴顯。

Jin water is yang and represents flowing water that nourishes and grows plants and all things. It is most favorable for those born in spring and summer; if born in autumn or winter, it lacks the ability to grow. If it forms a trine with the fire trine (Yin, Wu, Xu) to form the official star, and receives support, reputation will naturally be prominent. If it forms a metal trine and is born in August, both fame and wealth will be obtained. If it forms a water trine and is born in March, it is in the place of Heavenly Virtue, indicating nobility. If the earth branches contain Hai, Mao, and Wei, traveling in the southern direction will bring wealth. Gui water is yin and represents vast oceanic water that cannot grow all things; another view is that it is dew and rain that nourish all things. It is most favorable for those born in spring and autumn, and traveling in the directions of Si, Wu, and Xu brings great fortune. It is most unfavorable to travel in the directions of Chen, Xu, Chou, and Wei, leading to uncertain success and failure. If the earth branches contain Hai, Mao, and Wei, they can damage the strong energy but increase wealth. If the pillar does not contain Yin or Jia, it can still achieve fame and fortune. If there is Ji soil and it is born in Chou or Wei month, and it is accompanied by the Three Punishments, it will be ordinary in terms of clothing and food, with difficulties in early and middle years, but prosperity in old age. If the Five Phases have a rescue and the body is strong, traveling in the direction of wealth and official positions will also indicate nobility and prominence.

壬癸日生水為主，根基惟在火與土。春秋來往發財官，冬夏東行為得所。壬癸日生，坐下辰戌丑未巳午，為玄武當權。運行宜火木分野，過與不及，偏陰偏陽，則貴而不實。若生四季巳午月，引亥子時；或冬生，引辰戌丑未巳午時，俱貴。非此時，虛名虛利。運喜金水分野，生助為榮。無金則水絕。忌比肩劫財。冬十一月三合結局，水漲橫泛而土崩。故水無土則濫，土無水則干。土得水而受潤通氣，水得土而成堤為河，二者不可偏倚。若更氣運得宜，無不貴顯。其刑合、拱合等格不在此論。

The诀 says: Those born on a壬 or癸 day should take water as their main element, with their foundation resting on fire and earth; during spring and autumn, they can achieve wealth and official positions, but those born in winter or summer must travel east to achieve success. For those born on壬 or癸 days, if their day branch is in辰, 戌, 丑, 未, or巳, it is called "玄武当权," and their fortune should be in the fields of fire and wood. If there is an excess or deficiency, or if it is overly yin or yang, they may be esteemed but not substantial. Those born in the four seasons or in巳 or午 months should be guided to the hours of亥 or子; or those born in winter should be guided to the hours of辰, 戌, 丑, 未, or巳, and these all indicate high status. Those not in these hours are only for empty fame and profit. Their fortune favors the fields of metal and water; if they are supported, it brings honor, but without metal, the water source is cut off. They should avoid the fields of similar elements and劫财. If in the eleventh month of winter, the triple harmony forms a water trinity, the water will surge and flood, causing the earth to collapse. Therefore, water without earth will overflow, and earth without water will dry up; earth needs water to be nourished and to connect, while water needs earth to form a riverbank. Both elements cannot be neglected. If the fortune is further harmonized, there is no failure in achieving prestige. As for the patterns of刑合 and拱合, they are not included here.

One should also carefully examine whether the day stem has strength and support in the month's stem and branch, and determine the importance accordingly. The preference and avoidance of periods are the same as above.

甲乙日得子月為印綬，喜見官露印，忌坐天財、傷印。歲運喜忌同。丙丁日為官，貴，陰陽和合。喜露財、官、見三合、六合、官印合，須考月令中氣。身旺喜財、官，身弱喜印旺。忌七煞傷官、歲運傷為福之地，丁得之偏官，兩陰相攻，喜身旺有合制，忌身弱無合露，正官及四柱帶多無制伏，運喜身旺合偏官，忌身弱。戊己日為財，喜露財身旺，忌坐刃透比。不遇亥子日生，難為財運。喜身旺與財，身弱喜旺，忌劫。庚辛日為長生財，喜坐露財身旺，忌無財身弱。如四柱全無財星，便不是長生財，只是傷官背祿，月令須時帶偏官，庚日丙時巳時，辛日丁時午時便為有制，吉。

It is unfavorable if the seat is occupied by Yangren or if the same stem appears. If not born on the Hai or Zi day, it is difficult to obtain wealth. In the running years, it is favorable if the body is strong and wealth appears. If the body is weak, it is favorable to run in a strong place. It is unfavorable to see the劫财 (robbery wealth). On days of Geng and Xin, if born in the Zi month, the heavenly stem is considered the long life wealth. It is favorable if the seat has wealth and wealth appears, and the body is strong. It is unfavorable if there is no wealth and the body is weak. If the four pillars have no wealth star, it is not considered long life wealth, but rather injurious star and back fortune. If the month is like this, it is necessary for the hour to have the biased official star. For Geng day, using the hour of Bing or Si is favorable. For Xin day, using the hour of Ding or Wu is favorable. This is considered as having control, which is favorable.

次宜日時帶諸不見之形，貴。如年日時三官皆不遇，其命可知。行運身旺喜財，身弱喜旺。通忌比、劫。壬癸日，壬為旺，癸為建祿，只是身強，奈名利二者卻被月令銷熔盡了，頗宜時帶偏官，貴，如壬日戊巳時，癸日巳午時是也。次宜日時帶諸不見之形，貴。如年月時三宮皆不遇，其命可知，運喜行偏官，忌正官。

Then it is also favorable if the day or hour carries various forms of 'invisible signs' of hidden wealth, indicating a prosperous destiny. If none of the year, day, and hour positions encounter these, the fate of the person is evident. In terms of fortune, when the body is strong, it is favorable to have wealth; when the body is weak, it is favorable to travel through prosperous positions. In all cases, it is undesirable to have siblings or competing wealth. For those born on a壬 or癸 day in the子 month,壬 is in its Prosperity position and癸 is in its establishment of official position, but their strength is merely strong. Unfortunately, both fame and profit are completely dissolved by the month's influence. It is particularly favorable if there is a biased official in the hour, indicating prosperity, such as戊 or己 for a壬 day, or己 or午 for a癸 day. Next, it is favorable if the day and hour carry various hidden harmonies of noble positions, indicating prosperity. If none of the year, month, and hour positions encounter these, the person's fate is evident. In terms of fortune, it is favorable to travel through biased officials and unfavorable to travel through official positions.

甲乙日得丑月為雜氣官，貴。喜官星透干；不透要沖，既透怕沖。運喜行財，忌官藏無沖、官煞混及傷官。官愛多合。身旺喜財、官運，身弱喜行旺地。忌煞傷歲同。丙丁日為雜氣財，喜財透干，忌羊刃、比肩。運身旺喜財，身弱喜旺通。忌劫、財。若不遇申酉丑日生，難為財。戊己日為餘氣財，月初小寒後七日半生，有癸水餘氣，無比肩敗財，羊刃亦能發財，貴。如過期生，丑中無利無害，平平。日時二宮能帶諸貴格，亦可發。有餘氣財貴者，喜財露身旺，忌財衰身弱。

On days of Bing and Ding born in the Chou month, the heavenly stem is considered a mixed wealth, and it is favorable if the wealth appears on the heavenly stem, and unfavorable if there is Yangren or same heavenly stem. If the body is strong, it is favorable to travel through wealth; if the body is weak, it is favorable to travel through a strong path, and it is unfavorable to have a劫财 (robber wealth) stealing wealth. If the day is not Shen, You, or Chou, it is difficult to gain wealth. On days of Wu and Ji born in the Chou month, the heavenly stem is considered residual wealth. Those born within seven and a half days after the beginning of the Minor Cold in the Chou month still have residualGui Water (Kui Water) in the Chou. As long as there is no same heavenly stem to steal wealth, even with Yangren, one can become wealthy and noble. If born after this date, the Chou has no benefit or harm for Ji earth, and it is average. It depends on the day and hour to bring various noble patterns, and one can still achieve success. For those with residual wealth and noble status, it is favorable to have wealth revealed with a strong body, and unfavorable to have weak wealth and a weak body.

運喜忌同。庚辛日為自庫之月，只得身強、少病、多安、壽考，月令中更無物可採。頗宜時偏官，貴；及帶日時諸不見之形，依然發福，時貧官，庚日丙時巳時，辛日丁時午時。運喜行合偏官，忌正官。壬癸日為雜氣財，貴。喜透印見官及刑沖，忌印伏。運宜行官印之地，忌財傷印。餘同前論。

Those born on庚 or 辛 days in the丑 month are in the month of the earth's repository, which can only bring strong body, few diseases, safety, and longevity. There is nothing more valuable in the month's ruler. It is particularly suitable if the hour branch carries a biased official, which indicates high status, or if there are various hidden combinations between the day and hour branches that form a noble pattern, which can still bring good fortune.the so-called时上偏官 refers to the hour branch being丙 or 巳 for庚 days, and 丁 or 午 for辛 days. In the fortune period, it is favorable to walk a path that combines and stabilizes the biased official, and unfavorable to encounter the official directly. Those born on壬 or 癸 days in the丑 month have a mixed wealth in the month's ruler, which indicates high status. It is favorable if the official or the scholar's emblem is revealed and if there is a punishment and clash. It is unfavorable if the scholar's emblem is hidden and not revealed. In the fortune period, it is favorable to walk a path of official and scholar's emblem, and unfavorable if wealth comes to harm the scholar's emblem. The rest is the same as previously discussed.

甲日得寅建祿，乙日旺相。月令中無格可取，只利得身旺年久。頗宜帶時偏官及日時諸不見之形，貴。時偏官者，甲日庚時申時、乙時辛時酉時。如年日時三宮無格可取，終身可知，有偏官者，喜行合偏官運，忌正官。丙丁日為印，貴。喜坐官露官、再露印星。忌露財。宜行官、印運，忌財、傷印。戊日為偏官，貴。兩陽相攻，喜身旺，忌身弱。偏官有合莫制，無合要制。運喜身旺合制，忌身弱正官及再行煞鄉。己日為正官，貴。陰陽和合，喜坐露財、再露官星、三合六合、身旺。

On days of Jia, having the month of Yin is considered built-up fortune; on days of Yi, having the month of Yin is considered prosperous and strong. If there is no pattern in the month, only the body's strength can be considered, leading to longevity. It is particularly favorable to have a biased official in the hour, as well as various hidden harmonies and noble patterns in the day and hour. This indicates a noble destiny.所谓 biased official in the hour refers to the hour of Geng or Shen on Jia day, and the hour of Xin or You on Yi day. If there is no pattern in the year, day, and hour, then one's life is known. Those originally with biased officials should favor a journey that harmonizes and controls the biased official, and avoid the official position. On days of Bing or Ding, born in the month of Yin, it is considered the official's support, indicating nobility. It is favorable to have an official position, and if the official is revealed, it is even better. If the official is revealed and the support is also present, it is unfavorable to have wealth revealed. It is favorable to travel on official and support paths, and unfavorable to travel on wealth paths or paths that harm the support. On days of Wu, born in the month of Yin, it is considered a biased official, indicating nobility. Two yangs attacking each other, it is favorable to have a strong body and unfavorable to have a weak body. If the biased official is harmonized, there is no need to control it; if there is no harmony, it must be controlled. Favorable journeys are those that strengthen the body, harmonize, and control, while unfavorable journeys are those that weaken the body, the official position, or further enter a dangerous place. On days of Ji, born in the month of Yin, it is considered the official position, indicating nobility. Yin and Yang are harmonious and smooth. It is favorable to have wealth in the seat and reveal wealth, and if the official is also revealed, it is favorable to have triple harmony and six harmony, and a strong body.
