The first method is to sit facing south from the north. If the initial section of the壬 dragon enters from the right side and falls, the site should be chosen at a position facing south and sitting north. The compass should be slightly tilted to the left, adding half a degree of the亥 character, so that the proper壬 energy from the sixty dragons, specifically theBingzi dragon, can enter the site through the right ear. In the poem from Lai Buyi's "On Hastening Officialdom" from the Song Dynasty, it says: the back should be aligned with one number and the front with nine numbers, riding on the "Heavenly Assistant" (i.e.,壬), and the dragon energy entering through the right ear is considered proper. The site should be slightly to the left, incorporating the "Heavenly Emperor" (i.e.,亥), which will bring future wealth and honor that can shake the local area. The method of using the compass is: if the sitting and facing direction includes both壬 and丙, then use the Gengwu and Gengzi compass directions; if it includes both癸 and丁, then use the Bingwu and Bingzi compass directions.

The second type is sitting on Gen facing Kun. When the dragon line comes in from the direction of Ren and slightly drops to the right, the site can also be chosen as sitting on Gen facing Kun. The compass is slightly biased to the left, adding half a degree of Hai. This is to take the main energy of the incoming dragon line entering from the right side. The "On Hastening Officialdom" states: When the mountain comes from the direction of Ren, the site should be chosen at the position of Tian Shi (Gen). The energy of Tian Fu (Ren) will then directly enter the right side of the site. When establishing the site, slightly incline to the left by half a degree towards Hai, and wealth and reputation will spread throughout the village. The method of using the fine gold line is: if the sitting and facing direction is combined with Chou and Wei, then use the Xinchou and Xinwei fine gold lines; if combined with Yin and Shen, then use the Bingyin and Bingshen fine gold lines.

The third method is to sit facing Yi. If the initial section of the Ren dragon falls to the left, the site should be established as facing Xin towards Yi. The compass should be slightly to the right, adding half a degree of the Zi character, to take the main line of the correct Ren dragon entering from the left side. The "On Hastening Officialdom" states: when establishing a site with the dragon of Tianfu (Ren) facing the star of Tianguan (Yi), the qi entering from the left side is most effective; the site should be slightly to the right, with the addition of "Yang light" (Zi), which indicates a wealthy family and intelligent descendants. The method of using the dividing gold is: if the site faces and includes Mao, use the Xinyou and Xinmao dividing gold; if it includes Chen, use the Bingchen and Bingxu dividing gold. This site's qi enters from the waist, which is slightly less effective than the previous two sites where the qi enters from the ears.

The water dragon's dwelling place

The dragon of the Zi direction is the Kan dragon, and it has only one type of site: facing Gen with the back to Kun. When the initial section of the Zi dragon slopes to the right, the site is established facing Gen towards Kun, with the compass slightly biased to the right, adding one part of the Ren direction, allowing the pure Zi energy to enter from the right ear. The "On Hastening Officialdom" states: the dragon of "Yang Sun" (Zi) sits on the "Heavenly Market" (Gen) enclosure, and the energy rushing into the right ear is considered to grasp the profound principle; the site should be slightly adjusted to the "Heavenly Assistant" (Ren) position, which may result in the son having a sixth finger and possessing extensive farmland. The method of using the dividing gold is: if the facing direction includes Chou, use the Xin Chou and Xin Wei dividing gold; if it includes Yin, use the Bing Yin and Bing Shen dividing gold. The poem says "following the left," but the main text says "following the right," referring to the different positions of the person holding the compass. In reality, both refer to a slight shift towards the Ren direction.

Gui Dragon's Site

The first type of site for the癸 dragon is facing艮 towards坤. The initial section of the癸 dragon enters and slopes to the right, forming a site facing艮 and facing坤. The compass is slightly偏 left and slightly added with「子」, taking the correct癸 pulse from the right ear along the dragon line ofDingchou in the sixty dragons. The thirteen article of《On Hastening Officialdom》says: facing the「Xuan Ge」(i.e.,坤) position, the「Yin Guang」(i.e.,癸) qi gracefully passes through the right ear; when establishing the site, slightly偏 left and adding half a part of「Yue」position (Yue refers to Tai Yin, which refers to子), in the future not only will there be wealth and honor, but also many elegant and handsome men. The method of using the dividing gold is: if the site faces and combines with丑, it is suitable to use theXinchou andXinwei dividing gold; if it combines with寅, it is suitable to use theBingyin andBingshen dividing gold.

The second type of site for a癸 dragon is facing south from the north. If the initial section of the癸 dragon falls to the left, the site should be established facing north and facing south, with the compass slightly to the right and slightly adding the 'Chou' term, taking the dragon energy of Dingchou from the left ear. The "On Hastening Officialdom" states: the dragon of Yin light (癸) sits in the Kan position and faces the 'Inflamed Essence' (i.e., Wu), receiving the dragon energy from the left ear, which is strong; the site should be slightly to the right and slightly adding the position of the Ox mansion (which belongs to Chou), indicating that people will be handsome and wealthy. The method of using the dividing gold is: if the facing direction is combined with Ren, use Gengzi and Gengwu dividing gold; if combined with Gui, use Bingyin and Bingzi dividing gold.

Chou Dragon's Abode

The only suitable site for a dragon of the Chou (丑) is facing Ren (壬) with its back to Bing (丙). The initial section of the Chou dragon falls to the left, and the site is established facing Ren towards Bing. The compass is slightly biased to the right and slightly adds the Gen (艮) direction, taking the main line of the Xinchou (辛丑) dragon from the left ear. The "On Hastening Officialdom" states: "The dragon of Niu Jin (丑) moves toward Taiwei (丙), its energy rushing directly towards the left ear, forming a knot here; slightly adding the Yangshu (阳枢, i.e., Gen) position, the site is close to the right side. As long as there is water converging and the surrounding areas are tightly enclosed, it indicates abundant farmland and prosperity. The method of using the 'fenjin' (分金) is: if the facing direction is combined with Hai (亥), then use Xinhai (辛亥) and Xinsi (辛巳) fenjin; if combined with Zi (子), then use Bingzi (丙子) and Bingwu (丙午) fenjin."

Gen Long's Site

The first type of site for a Geng Long (Mountain Dragon) is facing from Gui to Ding. The initial section of the Geng Long approaches from the left, forming a site facing Gui and facing Ding. The compass should be biased toward the White Tiger side. Standing at the site and looking outward, the left is the Azure Dragon and the right is the White Tiger. Aligning with the White Tiger means shifting slightly to the right. Additionally, add one part of the Yin direction, allowing the pure Geng energy from the Wu Yin dragon to enter from the left ear. The second article of "On Hastening Officialdom" states that the site should face Gui, with the pure energy of Tian Shi (Geng) entering the left ear. The site should be close to the western beast (White Tiger, the right side) and slightly add the Yin direction. In the future, this will bring prosperity, honor, and glory to the hometown. The method of using the compass is: if the site faces with a combination of Zi, use Geng Zi and Geng Wu compasses; if it faces with a combination of Chou, use Ding Chou and Ding Wei compasses.

The second type of site for the mountain dragon (Geng Long) is facing north towards south. If the initial section of the mountain dragon enters the site horizontally and drops from the left side, moving towards the right, the site should be established facing north towards south. The compass is slightly to the right, taking the dragon of Wuyin to receive the correct energy from the left side. The "On Hastening Officialdom" states: "The celestial market (Geng) comes as the dragon and faces the great micro (Bing), the energy strikes the waist site, indicating prosperity in officialdom. Geng belongs to the yang hub, Bing belongs to the yin hub; the meeting of yin and yang energies brings long-lasting blessings and auspiciousness. The two hubs complement each other, like singing and responding. The method of using the fine gold scale is: if the site faces towards Hai, use the Xinhai and Xinsi fine gold scale; if it faces towards Zi, use the Bingzi and Bingwu fine gold scale."

The third type of site for a mountain dragon (Gèn lóng) is facing towards Geng with the seat at Jia. When the initial section of the mountain dragon enters the site, it slopes to the right, and the site is established as facing Geng with the seat at Jia. The compass should be biased toward the 'Azure Dragon' side, meaning it should be shifted to the left, and then add one part of 'Chǒu'. Take the energy of the dragon Bingyin from the right ear. The "On Hastening Officialdom" states: "The celestial market (Gèn) comes from afar, the site is located at the Chǒu position, and the energy rushes into the right ear without meandering or dispersing; the celestial kitchen (Chǒu) slightly joins in, the site body adheres to the left, leading to future wealth and officialdom, with both literary and military ranks coming successively." The method of using the fine alignment (fēn jīn) is: if the facing direction is combined with寅 (Yín), then use Gengyin and Gengshen fine alignment; if combined with卯 (Mǎo), then use Dingyou and Dingmao fine alignment.

The fourth type of site for the mountain dragon (Geng Long) is facing Xin with the sitting direction of Yi. If the initial section of the mountain dragon enters the site horizontally and falls to the side, coming from the right and going to the left, the site is established as facing Xin with the sitting direction of Yi. The compass is slightly biased to the left and slightly added with the character 'Chou', taking the correct energy of the dragon Wuyin from the right side. The "On Hastening Officialdom" mentions only two lines: using the dragon of Yang Hub (i.e., Geng) to sit on the star Tian Guan (i.e., Yi), receiving the dragon energy from the right side, which often leads to a distinguished and honorable position. The method of using the dividing gold (fen jin) is: if the sitting and facing direction includes Mao, then use the dividing gold of Xin Mao and Xin You; if it includes Chen, then use the dividing gold of Bing Chen and Bing Xu. Since this site receives energy from the waist, the poem by Lai Shi only allows for 'honorable fame' and does not mention great wealth.

The fifth type of grave for the mountain dragon (Geng Long) is facing west from east, with the grave facing the酉 (You) direction. The initial section of the mountain dragon enters and falls to the right, forming a grave facing卯 (Mao) and facing酉 (You). The compass is slightly shifted to the left, adding one part of the "Chou" (丑) position, taking the qi of the Bing Yin dragon from the right ear. The "On Hastening Officialdom" states: "The yang pivot (Geng) dragon reaches here and faces the western Lake position (De). It is most effective to take the qi from the right ear; the grave should be slightly to the left, adding the "chuxing" (天厨, the celestial kitchen, which is the Chou position). The family will certainly enjoy continuous honor and prosperity — 'wu ai' means without end. The method of using the dividing gold (fen jin) is: if the facing direction is combined with Jia, then use the Xin Mao and Xin You dividing gold; if combined with Yi, then use the Ding Mao and Ding You dividing gold.

The sixth type of site for the艮 dragon is facing the巽 direction with the body facing the乾. The initial section of the艮 dragon enters horizontally and falls to the right, coming from the left and exiting to the right. The site is established as facing the乾 and facing the巽, with the compass slightly to the right. The correct energy of theWuyin dragon, specifically the正艮 energy, is taken from the left side. The "On Hastening Officialdom" states: "The dragon of the Heavenly Market (艮) moves towards the Yang Xuan (巽), its energy strikes the left side and connects to the subtle and profound mechanism; this results in the house being prosperous, the family wealthy, and the accumulation of gold and treasures. However, one must be cautious of the children's early death and the loss of a long life." This site is beneficial for wealth but not for longevity, so when using it, one should choose other surrounding waters and landforms to compensate. The method of using the fine compass is: if the site faces slightly towards the戌, then use theGengxu andGengchen fine compasses; if it faces slightly towards the亥, then use theDinghai andDingsi fine compasses.

The seventh type of site for the艮 dragon is facing巳 from亥. When the initial section of the艮 dragon falls to the left, the site is established as facing巳 from亥, with the compass slightly to the right, taking the correct energy of艮 from the left side. This site only brings wealth and prosperity, not high official rank. The method of using the fine adjustment of the compass is: if the facing direction is combined with the dry branch, use the Xin亥 and Xin巳 fine adjustment; if combined with the Yin branch, use the Ding亥 and Ding巳 fine adjustment. The eighth type of site is facing未 from丑. When the initial section of the艮 dragon falls to the left, it can also be established as facing未 from丑, with the compass slightly to the right and adding one part of the寅 character, allowing the correct energy of theWuyin dragon to enter from the right ear. The method of using the fine adjustment of the compass is: if the facing direction is combined with the癸 branch, use the Xin丑 and Xin未 fine adjustment; if combined with the亥 branch, use the Ding丑 and Ding未 fine adjustment. These two sites are not mentioned in the "On Hastening Officialdom," but were added by two Xu scholars based on the energy flow of the艮 dragon.

Yin Dragon's Site

The first type of site for the寅 dragon is facing艮 towards坤. The initial section of the寅 dragon enters the site and falls to the left, so the site is established facing艮 towards坤, with the compass slightly偏向 to the right and slightly adding the character「甲」. The qi is taken from theRenyin dragon among the sixty dragons, entering from the left ear. Lai Buyi's "On Hastening Officialdom" says: "The dragon of功曹 (which is寅) sits on艮 and faces玄戈 (which is坤), riding the qi from the left ear without leaning either way; slightly adding the position of甲, with the surrounding pattern complete and solid, the dragon pulse is extraordinary, and the blessings come quickly like fire." Two Xu particularly noted: this site is the one among all sites for the寅 dragon that brings blessings the fastest. The method of using the 分金 is: if the facing is combined with丑, use theXinchou andXinwei 分金; if combined with寅, use theBingyin andBingshen 分金.

The second type of site for the寅 dragon is facing south-west, with the mountain facing寅 and the direction towards申. If the initial section of the寅 dragon comes straight and is received directly without deviation, it is considered as寅 mountain facing申. When establishing the site, the compass should be slightly to the right to receive the correct energy from theJiayin dragon. However, the conditions for this type of site are very strict: the incoming dragon should be unique and have a dynamic, undulating appearance, the site star should be formed very skillfully, and the surrounding hills and water should be beautiful. If any of these three elements are missing, it is not considered auspicious. The "On Hastening Officialdom" states: "The official star (寅) faces the heavenly gate (申) star directly; only when the dragon is outstanding can the site be close. If the surrounding hills and water are incomplete, it is most凶, leading to a single mother staying home, strange diseases, and frequent quarrels within the family." The method of using the dividing gold is: if the direction is combined with艮, useGengyin andGengshen dividing gold; if combined with申, useBingyin andBingshen dividing gold.

The dwelling place of the Dragon of Jia

The first type of site for a Jia dragon is facing Gen towards Kun. The initial section of the Jia dragon approaches from the left, and the site is established facing Gen towards Kun, with the compass slightly偏向 the right and slightly adding the 'Yin' direction. The site takes the main line of the Zheng Jia dragon from the left ear. The "On Hastening Officialdom" states: When a dragon of Jia (Yin Ji) comes and moves towards the Kun position, it approaches from the left ear to receive the qi, bringing endless blessings. The site should be close to the right and slightly add the Yin direction; it must have a special dragon pattern and a tightly enclosed terrain to be applicable. Two Xu note that this site is easy to generate prosperity. The method of using the dividing gold is: if the site faces towards Chou, it is suitable to use the Xin Chou and Xin Wei dividing gold; if it faces towards Yin, it is suitable to use the Bing Yin and Bing Shen dividing gold.

The second type of site for a Jia dragon is facing Xun towards Qian. When the initial section of a Jia dragon falls to the left, it can still be established as facing Xun towards Qian, with the compass slightly to the right, taking the correct energy from the巳卯 dragon coming from the right side. The "On Hastening Officialdom" states: When a dragon of Yin Qi (Jia) is established at the Xun position facing the peak of Yang Qi (Qian), the energy coming from the right side will bring prosperity to the family; however, if the protective sands on both sides do not meet and the incoming dragon lacks proper form, it will bring about the misfortunes of widows, cripples, and epidemics. The method of using the dividing gold is: if the facing direction includes Chen, then use Gengchen and Gengxu dividing gold; if it includes Si, then use Dingsi and Dinghai dividing gold.

Mao Dragon's Site

The first type of site for a卯 dragon is facing north towards the west, with the site sitting facing the direction of Jia and facing Geng. The initial section of the卯 dragon falls to the left, and the site is established as facing Jia and facing Geng. The compass is slightly biased towards the White Tiger, which is on the right, with a slight addition of the character 'Yi'. This takes the pure energy of theGuimao dragon from the left ear. The fifth section of the "On Hastening Officialdom" states: the site should be facing Jia, with the energy of 'Yang Heng' (i.e.,卯) originating from the left ear. The site is adjacent to the western beast (White Tiger, on the right) and adds the position of 'Tian Guan' (i.e., Yi), which allows for holding a ceremonial staff and governing the borders and wielding power of life and death. The method of using the dividing gold is: if the direction is combined with寅, it is suitable to use the dividing gold of Gengyin and Gengshen; if combined with卯, it is suitable to use the dividing gold of Dingmao and Dingyou.

The second type of site for the卯 dragon is facing Xin from Yi. The initial section of the卯 dragon enters and falls to the right, so the site is established as facing Yi towards Xin. The compass is biased towards the Azure Dragon, which is the left side, with half of the character 'Jia' added, taking the pure energy of theGuimao dragon from the right ear. The "On Hastening Officialdom" states: "Axiang" (the name of the thunder god, referring to the thunder at the卯 position) comes from the east, and the site is chosen on "Tian Guan" (Yi), with the energy flowing into the right ear, ensuring the spirit's stability. Slightly adding the position of Jia and positioning the site to the left indicates that one will first achieve officialdom through literary merit and later hold military power, achieving great official status. The method of using the dividing gold is: for sites facing towards卯, use the Xinmao and Xinyou dividing gold; for those facing towards辰, use the Bingchen and Bingxu dividing gold.

The third type of site for a卯 dragon is facing癸 towards丁. If the initial section of the卯 dragon falls sideways and drops, coming from the left and going to the right, the site is established as facing癸 towards丁, with the compass slightly to the right, taking the energy of theGuimao dragon from the left side. Two Xu note: this site is not detailed in Lai Buyi's "On Hastening Officialdom," but this book supplements it based on the qi flow of the卯 dragon and the sideways falling trend. When using it, one must be more cautious to verify the true dragon and site, and not rely solely on the text. The method of using the 分金 is: if the facing direction includes子, useGengzi andGengwu 分金; if it includes丑, useDingchou andDingwei 分金.

Yi Dragon's Burial Site

The only suitable site for a dragon of the Yi (乙) is facing Gen (艮) towards Kun (坤). The initial section of the Yi dragon comes in horizontally, falling from the left to the right, and the site is established facing Gen towards Kun. The body of the site is close to the right side, taking the main vein of the Gengchen (庚辰) dragon's correct Yi pulse entering from the left waist. The "On Hastening Officialdom" states: using the dragon of Yi (天官) facing towards Kun, the site should be located at the position of Tianshi (天市), which is Gen, with the energy rushing towards the left waist, which is beneficial. A slight addition of the Chén (辰) dragon (亢金) and the body of the site close to the left also indicates wealth and honor, though the family may often have the issue of taking in a son-in-law. The method of using the dividing gold (分金) is: if the facing direction is combined with Chou (丑), then use the Xinchou (辛丑) and Xinwei (辛未) dividing gold; if combined with Yin (寅), then use the Bingyin (丙寅) and Bingshen (丙申) dividing gold.

The burial site of the dragon in the hour of Chen.

The first type of site for the dragon of the辰 (Dragon) is facing the direction of 巽 (Wind) and facing the direction of 乾 (Heaven). The initial section of the dragon of the辰 enters the site and slopes to the right, so the site is established facing 巽 and facing 乾, with the compass slightly leaning to the left and slightly adding the character 乙 (Yi). This takes the pure energy of the dragon Jiachen (Jia Chen) coming in from the right ear. The "On Hastening Officialdom" says: "The dragon of 亢 (Kang) (i.e., 辰) should be established at the position of 巽 and facing 阳机 (Yang Ji) (i.e., 乾), with the energy coming in from the right ear, which is considered in accordance with the method." Slightly adding 天官 (Tian Guan) (Yi), and the body of the site being close to the left, indicates great wealth, but it is feared that the person will not live to a hundred years. "期颐" refers to the age of a hundred years. The method of using the fine division of the compass is: if the site faces with a combination of 辰, it is suitable to use the compass of Gengchen (Geng Chen) and Gengxu (Geng Xu); if it combines with 巳, it is suitable to use the compass of Dingsi (Ding Si) and Dinghai (Ding Hai).

The second type of site for the Dragon of Chen is facing Gen towards Kun. The initial section of the Dragon of Chen falls to the left, and the site is established facing Gen towards Kun. The compass is slightly biased to the right and slightly added with the character 'Yi', taking the pure energy of the Dragon Jiachen from the left side. The "On Hastening Officialdom" states: "The Dragon of Kangle (Chen) moves towards Xuan Ge (Kun), taking the energy from the left side, with balanced and harmonious power; slightly adding 'Tian Gao' (Yi), the site is close to the left, but the coming Dragon must be unique and special, with the surrounding structure tightly enclosed and secure to be usable." Chen is a凶 position of Tian Gang, so both sites emphasize the need for a strict and orderly structure. The method of using the 'fen jin' is: if the facing direction includes Chou, then use the 'Xin Chou' and 'Xin Wei' fen jin; if it includes Yin, then use the 'Bing Yin' and 'Bing Shen' fen jin.

The Wind Trigram Dragon's Burial Site

The first type of site for a wind dragon (Xun) is to sit facing Xin. The initial section of the Xun dragon enters from the left and falls, forming a site that faces Xin with the seat at Yi. The compass is biased towards the White Tiger, which is the right side, adding one part of the 'Si' direction. The correct energy of the Xun dragon, specifically the Xinsi dragon, is taken from the left ear. The fourth rule in "On Hastening Officialdom" states that the site should be seated at Yi, with the Yang Xuan (Xun) energy rushing into the left ear. Borrowing the Tian Guan (Yi) as the seat mountain and adding the Qing Long (which refers to the Si position), this indicates that descendants will become officials in the palace and take turns on night duty within the palace. The method of using the division of gold (fenjin) is: if the seat and direction include Mao, then use the Xin Mao and Xin You fenjin; if it includes Chen, then use the Bing Chen and Bing Xu fenjin.

The second type of site for the Wind Dragon is facing亥 from巳. The initial section of the Wind Dragon enters and falls to the right, forming a site facing亥 from巳. The compass is biased towards the Azure Dragon, which is the left side, adding half a degree of 辰. The qi of the Xinsi Dragon is taken from the right ear. The "On Hastening Officialdom" says: "The Taiyi (another name for Wind) dragon forms a heavenly screen (i.e.,巳) site, and the qi is taken from the right ear, which is truly extraordinary. However, the Kangle (辰) is a killing position, only a slight addition is allowed, and it must not be excessive. This results in great wealth, minor official status, and outstanding people. The method of using the compass is: for sites facing巽, use the Xinsi and Xinhai compasses; for sites facing丙, use the Dingsi and Dinghai compasses."

The third type of site for a wind dragon (巽龙) is facing towards Gen (艮) with the back to Kun (坤). The initial section of the wind dragon enters horizontally and falls to the right, moving towards the left. The site is established facing Kun and towards Gen, with the compass slightly to the left, taking the correct wind from the direction of Xinsi (辛巳) to enter through the waist. The "On Hastening Officialdom" states: "The dragon of Taiyi (巽) moves towards Yangshu (艮), and the qi enters from the waist without error; as long as the terrain is peculiar, the water is clear and graceful, and the dragon is extraordinary, it will bring about a family of scholars and musicians, wealth and abundance of gold and jewels." The main text refers to the left waist, while the poem refers to the right waist, differing based on whether the dragon falls to the left or right. When applying, use the actual entrance direction. The method of using the compass is: if the facing direction includes Wei (未), use the Xinwei (辛未) and Xinchou (辛丑) compasses; if it includes Shen (申), use the Bingyin (丙寅) and Bingshen (丙申) compasses.

The dwelling place of the dragon in the fourth position.

The only suitable site for a dragon of the Si (Snake) type is a site facing Hai (Water Ox) with the dragon coming from the Si direction. When the dragon arrives at the site, the site should be slightly adjusted to the left or right to take in the energies of the Xun (Wind) and Bing (Sun) directions. Facing Hai from Si can also bring about wealth and honor. The "On Hastening Officialdom" states: "The head of the red snake (Si star) faces the northern heavenly gate (Hai position), coming straight and receiving the energy directly, its divine power is as if heaven's work had been split open; but the true site should take the energies from the Xun and Bing directions, which bring about wealth, honor, outstanding people, and remarkable talents. Therefore, the Si dragon should not receive its own energy purely, but should borrow the energies from the adjacent directions to temper its dry and fierce nature. The method of using the 'feng shui' compass is: if the site faces slightly towards Xun, use the Xinsi and Xinhai compasses; if it faces slightly towards Bing, use the Dingsi and Dinghai compasses."

Bing Dragon's Site

The first type of site for the Bing Long is facing Hai from Si. When the initial section of Bing Long falls to the left, the site is established as facing Hai from Si, with the compass slightly tilted to the right, taking the pure Bing qi entering from the left ear. The two Xu note: this site is not recorded in Lai Buyi's "On Hastening Officialdom," as it has been included under the Si Long. The method of using the dividing gold is: if the facing is combined with Xun, use Xinsi and Xinhai dividing gold; if combined with Bing, use Dingsi and Dinghai dividing gold. The second type of site is facing Geng from Jia. When the initial section of Bing Long falls to the left, it can also be established as facing Geng from Jia, with the compass slightly tilted to the right, taking the correct Bing qi entering from the left ear; this site is also not recorded in "On Hastening Officialdom." The third type of site for a Bing dragon is facing Xin from Yi. The initial section of the Bing dragon enters from the left, and the site is established as facing Yi towards Xin. The compass is slightly biased to the right, taking the Bing energy from the left side. The cited passage from "On Hastening Officialdom" states: When a Bing dragon sits on a Yi mountain, the energy rushes into the left side, which signifies the emergence of outstanding talents. If the dragon of "Taiwei" (i.e., Bing) is placed close to the Si position, the energy from the left side enters the ear, which only signifies wealth but not high status. "Er ji" is "er yi," meaning wealth without nobility. The method of using the dividing gold is: if the facing direction is combined with Mao, use Xinmao and Xinyou dividing gold; if combined with Chen, use Bingchen and Bingxu dividing gold.

The fourth type of site for a Bing dragon is facing Gen with its back to Kun. The initial section of the Bing dragon falls slightly to the left, and the site is established facing Kun towards Gen. The compass is slightly biased to the left, adding the 'Si' position, to capture the pure Bing energy entering from the right side. The "On Hastening Officialdom" states: "The dragon of Taiwei (Bing) moves towards Yangshu (Gen), and the energy enters from the right side without error; the site should be slightly to the left with the 'Qingsha' (Si position), which brings prosperity to the family and wealth." "Qi" is an ancient term for "energy." The method of using the dividing gold is: if the facing direction includes Wei, use Xinwei and Xinchou dividing gold; if it includes Shen, use Bingshen and Bingyin dividing gold.

The dwelling place of the dragon associated with the Fire element.

The dragon of fire is the dragon of the hour of Wu, and the first type of site is facing towards Ren with the main direction facing towards Bing. The initial section of the fire dragon turns to the left, forming a site facing towards Bing with the direction towards Ren. The compass is biased towards the White Tiger, which is on the right side, and adds half of the character 'Ding'. It takes the main line of the dragon of the hour of Bingwu from the left ear. In the tenth section of Lai Buyi's "On Hastening Officialdom," it says: the site is located on 'Tian Gui' (i.e., Bing), and the dragon energy of the Li palace enters from the left ear. Slightly adding 'Nan Ji' (i.e., Ding), the surrounding structure is round and complete, and the terrain and water conform to the rules, thus achieving the rank of a marquis or duke. The method of using the 'fen jin' is: if the site faces towards Si, then use the 'Xinsi' and 'Xinhai' fen jin; if it faces towards Wu, then use the 'Bingwu' and 'Bingzi' fen jin.

The second type of site for the fire dragon is facing癸 from丁. The initial section of the fire dragon approaches from the right, and the site is established as facing丁 towards癸. The compass is inclined towards the azure dragon, which is the left side, with an addition of half a degree of丙. This takes the main line of the dragon from the right ear, following the correct fire line ofBingwu. The "On Hastening Officialdom" states: fire mountains are high and upright, corresponding to the sun star; a site facing丁 receives the yang essence (i.e., 午) from the right ear, and then slightly adds the position of 天贵 (i.e., 丙) by a fraction, which immediately brings sudden wealth and official honor. "岧嶤" describes mountains that are high and towering. The method of using the compass is: if the direction is combined with 午, use the 分金 of Gengwu and Gengzi; if combined with 未, use the 分金 of Dingwei and Dingchou.

Ding Long's burial site

The first type of site for the Ding Dragon is facing Gen with the body facing Kun. The initial section of the Ding Dragon enters from the right side, forming a site facing Kun towards Gen. The compass is slightly biased towards the 'Qing Sha' side (Qing Sha refers to Qing Long, the left side of the site), with an addition of one part of 'Wu'. The Qi of the Gui Wei Dragon is taken from the right ear. The seventh rule of the 'On Hastening Officialdom' states that the site should face Kun, with the 'Nan Ji' (Ding) Qi coming directly from the right ear. The key is to prevent the 'Kang Yin' (the Yin evil Qi of Kun itself) from entering the site. Simply adding a slight position of 'Tian Ma' (Wu) will bring glory to the family. The method of using 'Fen Jin' is: if the facing direction is combined with Wei, then use the Fen Jin of Xin Wei and Xin Chou; if combined with Shen, then use the Fen Jin of Bing Shen and Bing Yin.

The second type of site for the Ding Long is facing Hai from Si. The initial section of the Ding Long approaches from the left, forming a site facing Si and facing Hai. The compass is slightly biased towards the White Tiger, the right side, with an addition of one part of Wei. The correct Ding pulse is taken from the energy of the Guiwei dragon coming into the left ear. The "On Hastening Officialdom" states: "The Dragon of Nanji (Ding) faces Tianhuang (Hai), and the energy rushing into the left ear is the best pattern. The site is close to the West Beast (White Tiger, the right side), with a slight addition of the Yang position (Wei), but one must be especially careful about the Yang Quan (Wu), and not allow even the slightest intrusion. The method of using the dividing gold is: if the site faces and combines with Xun, then use the Xinsi and Xinhai dividing gold; if it combines with Bing, then use the Dingsi and Dinghai dividing gold."

The only suitable site for a dragon of the Earthly Branch "Wei" is a site facing towards "Gen" with the back towards "Kun". The initial section of the Wei dragon falls to the right, and the site is established facing towards "Kun" and towards "Gen". The compass is slightly biased to the right and slightly added with the character "Ding", taking the main line of the "Dingwei" dragon from the right ear. The "On Hastening Officialdom" states: the dragon of the mountain "Wei" rises and falls towards the "Gen" position, the qi of the "Heavenly Vault" (i.e., "Wei") rushes in from the right ear; the body of the site is on the left and carries in the qi of "Ding", which indicates prosperity and honor gained through unconventional and indirect means, leading to great prestige and prominence. This corresponds with what was said in the previous volume about the "Wei" dragon "prosperity through left-hand paths", showing that its honor does not come from the proper path. The method of using the "fenjin" (precise direction) is: for sites facing towards "Wei", it is suitable to use the "Xinwei" and "Xinchou" fenjin; for sites facing towards "Shen", it is suitable to use the "Bingyin" and "Bingshen" fenjin.

The only type of site for the坤 dragon is facing癸 with the seat at丁. The initial section of the坤 dragon falls to the left, forming a site facing癸 from the丁 mountain, with the compass slightly偏向 the White Tiger side, adding half a degree of申. This takes the true and unique pulse of theJiashen dragon, coming from the left ear. The "On Hastening Officialdom" says that a site facing丁 should have surrounding terrain that is circular and the structure should be tightly enclosed, with the "Xuange" (Kun) energy entering from the left ear. As long as the dragon pulse is genuine and unique, the benefits will come quickly, like fire. The method of using the 分金 is: if the facing direction is combined with午, it is suitable to useGengwu andGengzi 分金; if combined with未, it is suitable to useDingwei andDingchou 分金.

The "On Hastening Officialdom" states: For a site facing the Shen mountain, the direction towards the 'Yang Light' (i.e.,癸) palace, taking the qi from the left ear, has the strongest power; slightly adding 'Xuan Ge' (i.e., Kun), the body of the site is close to the right. As long as the coming dragon is noble and the site is beautiful, wealth will be abundant. Two Xu note: This site is mainly for wealth. The method of using the 'fen jin' is: if the facing direction is combined with午, it is suitable to use the 'Gengwu' and 'Gengzi' fen jin; if combined with未, it is suitable to use the 'Dingwei' and 'Dingchou' fen jin.
