木入五車，兵大起，五穀大成。木入建星，諸侯有謀入關者，期六十日，若百五十日。木守天關，有兵起，期三年。木行南河戒中，為四方兵起，百姓疾病。木乘南河戒中，出南河，為中關兵起。歲星乘北河戒中，若出北河，戒北為胡王死。

The planet Jupiter enters the Five Carriage Star, indicating great military movements and abundant harvests of grain. When Jupiter enters the Star of the Construction, it signifies that among the feudal lords there will be someone plotting to enter the pass, with the event occurring within sixty days or one hundred and fifty days. When Jupiter stays at the Celestial Gateway Star, it indicates the outbreak of military conflicts, with the event occurring within three years. When Jupiter passes through the middle of the Southern River, it indicates military conflicts arising in all directions and many people suffering from illness. When Jupiter presses upon the Southern River and exits from the Southern River, it indicates military conflicts arising in the area of the pass. When Jupiter presses upon the Northern River or exits from the Northern River or appears beyond the Northern River, it indicates the death of the king of the Hu people.

木在軒轅中，有女子反謀君者。木行犯守軒轅，女主失勢。一曰大臣當之。若有黜者，期二年。木中犯乘守軒轅太民星，大飢，大流皇太后宗。木乘犯守軒轅少民星，小飢，小流皇后宗，有誅者，若有罪戮。

The planet of the year is in the constellation of Xuanyuan, indicating that a woman will plot against the ruler. When the planet of the year passes through, invades, and stays in Xuanyuan, it signifies the loss of power by the female ruler; another interpretation suggests that this misfortune will be borne by a minister. If someone is demoted, the time period is two years. When the planet of the year confronts, presses upon, and stays in Xuanyuan along with the Tai Min star, it indicates a great famine and the large-scale dispersal of the imperial grandmother's family. When the planet of the year confronts, presses upon, and stays in Xuanyuan along with the Xiao Min star, it indicates a minor famine and the smaller-scale dispersal of the queen's family, with some people being executed or punished for crimes.

木入少微，君當有求賢佐；不求賢佐，則失威奪勢。木犯守少微，名士有憂卒，王者任用小人，忠臣被害有死者。

The planet of years enters the area of the star "Shaowei," and the sovereign should seek out capable ministers to assist himself; if he does not seek capable ministers, his authority will be undermined and his power will be taken away. The four stars of Shaowei are located in the southwest of Taimei垣, governing reclusive scholars and advisors who live in seclusion. When the planet of years approaches and stays near Shaowei, distinguished persons will face calamity or even death. The sovereign will appoint petty men, loyal ministers will be persecuted, and some will be killed as a result.

木逆來犯帝座，其色白者，有赦。歲星守黃帝座，大人憂。歲星犯平星，凶。木守平星，執政臣憂，若有罪誅者，期一年。木守入羽林，諸侯悉發兵，強臣謀主，王者有憂，期三年。

The planet Jupiter moves retrograde and invades the star "Di Zuo," if the star appears white, there will be a great amnesty. If Jupiter remains and stays in the "Yellow Emperor's Seat" within the Taiwei垣, the supreme ruler will have worries. If Jupiter approaches the "Ping Star," it indicates misfortune. The two Ping Stars are located south of the "Di Xiu" mansion, governing whether punishments are fair. If Jupiter remains and stays near the Ping Stars, the high-ranking officials in power will have worries, or someone may be punished and executed; this should occur within one year. If Jupiter stays and enters the "Yu Lin" star region (the Yu Lin consists of forty-five stars located south of Ying Shi, symbolizing the emperor's elite guards), it indicates that all the feudal lords will mobilize their armies, and powerful ministers will plot against the sovereign, causing the king to have worries; this should occur within three years.

熒惑，一名罰星。南方火德，朱雀之精，赤熛怒之使也。其性禮，其事視察，其時夏，其日丙丁，其辰巳午，其音徵，其數七，其帝炎帝，其神祝融，其蟲羽，其味苦，其臭焦，其卦離。主視明罰禍福之所在，熒惑伺察而行殃罰。《易》曰：相見乎離。又曰：重明以麗，大人以繼明照乎四方。主逆，共主災旱，主察獄，主死喪，為禮，以為理官，敕舉糾察，以明姦凶所在，而垂示應變。為人君，常以夏時修熒惑之政，則君正臣忠，父慈子孝，咸得其理，不失禮節矣。

The planet Mars is also known as the "Penalty Star." It belongs to the southern fire virtue, is the essence of the Vermilion Bird, and is the messenger of the Southern Heavenly Emperor "Chì Piāo Nù." Its corresponding virtue is "Ritual," its corresponding affairs are "inspection," its season is summer, its heavenly stem is Bing and Ding, its earthly branch is Si and Wu, its five tones are Zheng, its number is seven, its corresponding ancient emperor is the Flame Emperor, its corresponding deity is Zhurong, its corresponding creature is feathered insects, its taste is bitter, its smell is scorched, and its hexagram is the Li hexagram. It governs clear discernment, rewards and punishments, and the realm of misfortune and fortune. It observes the affairs of mankind from the heavens and uses this to carry out calamities and punishments. The Zhou Changes (I Ching) says, "They meet in the Li hexagram." The Li hexagram also says, "Bright and clear, harmonious with the correct path... the great man continues the bright illumination to the four directions." Mars governs rebellious matters, droughts, the examination of criminal cases, and death and mourning. In the Five Constants, it corresponds to "Ritual," and in official positions, it is equivalent to the "Li official," responsible for exposing and investigating wrongdoing, ensuring that wickedness and evil have nowhere to hide, and displaying omens through celestial phenomena to enable people to respond in advance. If a ruler constantly enacts policies corresponding to Mars during the summer season, then the ruler will be upright, ministers loyal, fathers kind, and children filial, with everyone following the proper order and no one violating the rules of propriety.

熒惑之政者，人君命大臣，三公贊傑俊，遂賢良，舉長大，行爵出祿，必當其位；斷薄刑，決小罪，出輕繫，寬重囚，益其食，祈祀山川，雩請谷實，則熒惑順軌而無變異。其國有禮，咸得其宜，炎氣長物，以成百實。

The so-called political decrees corresponding to the Malefic of violence refer to the sovereign commanding ministers and the Three Dukes to recommend outstanding and exceptional talents, employing the virtuous, selecting those of great capacity, and bestowing titles and rewards in accordance with their abilities and positions. They should judge minor punishments, conclude small offenses, release prisoners convicted of minor crimes, show leniency to those sentenced to severe punishments, increase their food rations, worship mountains and rivers, and perform the "Yu Sacrifice" to pray for the growth of grain. In this way, the Malefic of violence will follow its normal course without any anomalies. The state will be orderly, all affairs will be properly managed, the scorching heat will nurture all things, and the hundred grains will be harvested.

若人君興土功，合諸侯，起兵動眾，舉大事以搖養氣，壞隳我眾，伐大樹，失農時，燒燔布暴，芟刈草木，用火於南方，則熒惑怒而芒角變常，行度錯逆。大臣反，國相誅，人君憂。天殃罰之，民不昌，谷不成，萬物不長，兵旱災火併起。

If the sovereign undertakes large-scale construction in summer, convenes the feudal lords, mobilizes troops, and carries out major undertakings that disturb the vital energy of growth, harms his people, cuts down large trees, delays the farming season, burns and dries out the land, and cuts grass and trees, and also uses fire in the south, then the Malefic of violence will be enraged, its light spreading widely, its form becoming abnormal, and its course becoming disordered andretrograde. Thus ministers will rebel, the prime minister will be executed, the sovereign will face worries. Heaven will send calamities to punish, the people will not flourish, the grain will not mature, all things will not grow, and calamities such as war, drought, and fire will occur together.

人君以夏行秋令，則太白之氣干之，色白而昧，若雨數至，水澇，五穀不滋，四鄙入堡，草林零落，果實早成，民多疾疫，孕女多災，有大喪。以夏行春令，則歲星之氣干之，色青而變，人君有憂，蝗蟲為災，暴氣未格，秀草不實，五穀晚熟，百螣時起，其國乃飢，谷實鮮落，民乃遷移。以夏行冬令，則辰星之氣干之，色黑而怒，年兵起，有患死喪，草木枯落，後乃大水敗其城郭，雹凍傷谷，道路阻塞，暴兵來至。

The ruler enacts policies belonging to autumn in summer, and the qi of the planet Venus will clash with the qi of the planet Mars. Mars appears white and darkened, leading to frequent rain and flooding, preventing the growth of grain. People in the four directions and border areas retreat into fortresses to take shelter. Grass and trees wither, fruits ripen prematurely, and many people suffer from epidemic diseases. Pregnant women face calamities, and there will be great mourning. If in summer the ruler enacts policies belonging to spring, the qi of the planet Jupiter will clash with the qi of Mars. Mars appears green and abnormal, causing the ruler to face troubles. Locusts cause disaster, fierce and cruel qi cannot be dispelled, grass that has begun to sprout fails to bear fruit, grain ripens late, and various pests constantly arise, leading to famine in the country. The grain is sparse, and people are forced to migrate. If in summer the ruler enacts policies belonging to winter, the qi of the planet Mercury will clash with the qi of Mars. Mars appears black and fierce, leading to military conflicts and calamities and deaths. Grass and trees wither, then great floods destroy city walls, hail and frost damage the grain, roads are blocked, and fierce enemy troops arrive.

人君失時令，則熒惑錯亂逆行。乘凌守犯，芒角動搖，句巳環繞，無所不為。或下化為人，童子妖言並作，惑亂人民，人君憂之，宜修德以謝其災。

When the sovereign violates the seasons, the Malefic of violence becomes chaotic andretrograde. It may rise above and 「ride」, or approach closely and 「overwhelm」, or remain stationary and 「guard」, or come near and 「offend」. Its light flickers and moves, tracing a winding path like 「gou si」. It can cause any abnormal events. Sometimes it descends to earth in human form, causing rumors of supernatural beings among children, confusing and disturbing the people. The sovereign should be fearful and should cultivate virtue to dispel this calamity.

熒惑，火星也。火性炎上，而為禮察觀政焉。人君視正，明察教令，決斷清審，則分別賢愚，政理明哲，以應天心，則熒惑明而小，光而不怒，炎暑之氣，長養萬物，百殃息矣。人君若佚豫驕怠，獄訟不止，賢人在野，小人在位，視聽不明，賢愚莫辨，則熒惑大而明，怒而芒角，以告罰焉，則災旱疾疫，非時失宜，反罰俱作矣。是故熒惑所在，伺察人君，國分主者得失，以罰之也。其示罰，災旱凶禍並至，怒動芒角，為大兵起，盜賊不止，國將死亡。

The planet Mars, known as the Malefic of violence, belongs to the Five Phases of fire. Fire has the nature of ascending upwards, so it observes human affairs through the principle of propriety. If the sovereign maintains upright vision and hearing, issues clear decrees, makes decisions with clarity and caution, can distinguish the virtuous from the wicked, and ensures smooth governance, then Mars will appear bright but small in form, with light but not fierce, and the scorching heat of fire will nurture all things, while various calamities will be quelled. However, if the sovereign is indulgent and lazy, lawsuits persist, the virtuous are in exile, and the wicked occupy high positions, and if the sovereign lacks clear vision and cannot discern the virtuous from the wicked, then Mars will appear large and bright, fierce and with bright rays, indicating punishment. Thus droughts and epidemics occur, the seasons become disorderly, and various abnormal phenomena and punishments descend together. Therefore, the position of Mars is where it observes the sovereign, examines the state of the territory it governs, and determines the merits and demerits of those in power, based on which it inflicts punishment. When Mars shows signs of punishment, droughts and calamities arrive together; when it becomes fierce with bright rays, it signifies large-scale military campaigns, bandits rampant, and the state on the verge of collapse.

熒惑小而赤，主兵罷，行成句巳，戰，凶，國有軍。火始出色赤而芒角，軍在必戰，無兵兵起，隨芒所指，破軍殺將之象也。

The planet Mars has a small and red appearance, indicating the suspension or cessation of military affairs. If it moves forming a 'sentence and snake' shape, which is a looping path, it signifies warfare and is an ominous sign, indicating military activity within the country. When Mars first appears, it is red with a sharp edge, and if there are already troops stationed, war is certain to break out. Even if there were no military affairs before, war will be initiated. The direction indicated by the sharp edge corresponds to the sign of the Expenditure star and the vanguard star, which is an omen of the death of a general.

火芒角，火盛大動搖者，利為客攻聲有威。火不動，兵戰凶，有誅將。火留三日已上，大將死；留五日，軍敗亡地，留十日，君死國亡之象也。

When the Malefic of violence shines brightly, with its rays intense and fluctuating, it is favorable for the attacking party to launch an offensive, displaying great prestige and authority. If the Malefic of violence remains stationary and unmoving, it indicates a disastrous battle, with generals being executed. If the Malefic of violence stays for more than three days, the general will die; if it stays for five days, the army will suffer defeat and lose territory; if it stays for ten days, it signifies the death of the monarch and the downfall of the state.

火去復逆行其宿，有破軍死將，亡國死王者。火所留逆之國，起兵戰鬥，殺將亂軍，亡國破家，父子相去，至於流血，謂順度所留也，其越度留者益甚。

The Malefic of violence has left a certain constellation and then reversed its course to return to it, indicating events of the Expenditure star and vanguard star causing death of generals, the fall of a country and the death of its king. When the Malefic of violence lingers or retrogrades in the area corresponding to a particular country, warfare will break out, generals will be killed, armies will be in chaos, countries will fall, families will be destroyed, father and son will be separated, and bloodshed will occur. This is only referring to the case where the Malefic of violence lingers while moving according to normal degrees; if it lingers beyond the normal degrees, the calamity will be even more severe.

火所乘凌守犯宿，其國必當死亡。凡用兵戰者，宜背熒惑。如熒惑行在鶉火之次，宜背午以戰，及以月將加時。背勝光而戰，大勝。

When the Malefic of violence is overbearing, forcing, lingering, or invading a certain star, the country corresponding to the division of that star will surely suffer calamity and death. In any military engagement, one should face away from the Malefic of violence. For instance, if the Malefic of violence is located in the star division of 'Chun Huo' (which corresponds to the position of Wu), one should fight facing away from the Wu direction. Furthermore, using the method of 'Month General added to the time', one should fight facing away from 'Sheng Guang' (the name of the Month General for the Wu position) and thus achieve a great victory.

火犯木土，為大戰；太白傅之，亡偏將；熒惑環太白，偏將死；與太白相逆而斗，破軍殺將；熒惑入太白中上出，破軍殺將，客勝。金火相犯大戰，金在南，南邦敗，在北，北國敗。所斗之野，破軍殺將。火所在，不利先起。

The malefic of violence approaches Jupiter and Saturn, indicating large-scale warfare; if Venus is attached to it, there will be loss of subordinate generals; if the malefic of violence encircles Venus, subordinate generals will die in battle; if the malefic of violence and Venus face each other in conflict, it indicates the expenditure star and vanguard star will kill the general. If the malefic of violence enters the light of Venus and emerges from above, it also indicates the expenditure star and vanguard star will kill the general, with the attacking side winning. When the malefic of violence and Venus mutually attack, it signifies a great battle; if Venus is in the south, the southern state will be defeated; if Venus is in the north, the northern state will be defeated. The area corresponding to the conflict between these two stars will suffer the calamity of the expenditure star and vanguard star killing the general. The direction where the malefic of violence is located is unfavorable for initiating battle first.

火所行之處留守之，皆為大禍，君死國亡。若其君修德，則不為咎而加福矣。（猶宋景公熒惑守心，景公出三善言，熒惑退三舍，而延二十一年矣。是故人君視熒惑之所在，而修德以禳之矣。）

When the Malefic of violence reaches and remains in a particular area, it brings great calamity, leading to the death of the sovereign and the downfall of the state. However, if the ruler of that region cultivates virtue and moral conduct, not only will the disaster not occur, but it will instead bring additional blessings. For example, during the Spring and Autumn period, King Jing of Song encountered the Malefic of violence lingering in the Heart mansion. When King Jing spoke three sentences of benevolent virtue, the Malefic of violence retreated three li, and King Jing thus gained an additional twenty-one years of life. Therefore, the sovereign should observe where the Malefic of violence is located and cultivate virtue to avert disaster.

月與火相犯，貴人死。凡火行復跡，名曰燒跡。大凶旱飢，兵敗國亡。

When the Moon and the Malefic of violence clash, it indicates the death of a Nobleman. Whenever the Malefic of violence moves and then returns along the same path, retracing its previous route, this is called 'burning the trail,' which signifies great misfortune, drought and famine, military defeat and the fall of the state.

熒惑平見，入冬至初日，減二十五日，後六日減五日去二十五日。餘者以冬至後平見日畢，於小寒入大寒，三日加兩日，於平見日畢驚蟄初日。畢於穀雨，均加二十九日。自入立夏初日，加二十九日，後三日減一日，計日減去二十九日。餘者以加平見日，畢於大暑日，入立秋依平。自入處暑日，四減一日，畢於立冬日，入小雪日，畢於大雪日，均減二十五日，初見去五日十七度，行星法在歲星占內。熒惑見在冬至初日，率百四十一日行一度，一百六十七度在也。

To calculate the 'Pingjian' (average appearance date) of the planet Mars: if it appears after the winter solstice, subtract twenty-five days. After that, subtract five days every six days until the twenty-five days are fully subtracted. The remaining days are added to the Pingjian date after the winter solstice. From Minor Cold to Major Cold, add two days every three days to the Pingjian date until the beginning of Start of Spring. From Start of Grain Rain until then, add twenty-nine days. Starting from the beginning of Start of Summer, add twenty-nine days. After that, subtract one day every three days until the twenty-nine days are fully subtracted. The remaining days are added to the Pingjian date until the beginning of Great Heat. On the day of Start of Autumn, use the Pingjian date without any addition or subtraction. Starting from the beginning of Limit of Heat, subtract one day every four days until the beginning of Start of Winter. From Minor Snow to Major Snow, subtract twenty-five days. When Mars is first seen, it is about five days and seventeen degrees away from the Sun. The method for calculating planetary positions is explained in the previous chapter on the planet Jupiter. Mars appears on the winter solstice and takes about one hundred forty-one days to move one degree, totaling one hundred sixty-seven degrees.

角：熒惑犯左右角，大人憂。一曰有兵，大臣為亂。火入左角，有大赦；入右角，兵起。火守左角，左將憂；入右角，右將憂。火守天門，主絕嗣。火成句巳環繞角，有芒如鋒刃，天子失位。

The constellation Guo Xu consists of two stars, representing the horn of the Azure Dragon. Its territory corresponds to the state of Zheng and the region of Yanzhou. The left star governs administration and punishment, while the right star governs generals and military affairs. If the planet Mars approaches the left or right stars of Guo Xu, it indicates that a great leader will face troubles. Another interpretation suggests it signifies military conflict or rebellion by high ministers. If Mars enters the area of the left star, there will be a great amnesty; if it enters the area of the right star, military actions will arise. If Mars remains in the area of the left star, the left general will have worries; if it remains in the area of the right star, the right general will have worries. Between the two stars is the "Heavenly Gate." If Mars remains in the Heavenly Gate, it indicates the emperor will have no heirs. If Mars moves in a curved path forming the shape of "gou si" around Guo Xu, with sharp light like a blade, it signifies the emperor losing his throne.

亢：熒惑入亢，有芒角犯凌之，當有白衣之會。火入亢天子庭，有兵水災。火守亢，成句巳，而環繞之三十日，天子自將兵，國易政。火逆行守亢，為中兵。火犯亢者，臣亂，多疾疫。

Kang Xu: The Malefic of violence enters Kang Xu, with its bright horn appearing and approaching to threaten Kang star, indicating gatherings of people wearing white clothes related to funerals. The four stars of Kang Xu are the outer court where the Son of Heaven listens to government affairs. When the Malefic of violence enters Kang Xu, it signifies military calamities and floods. If the Malefic of violence remains in Kang Xu, forming the shape of 'gou si' and circling it for thirty days, the Son of Heaven will personally lead the army to campaign, and the state will change its policies. If the Malefic of violence retrogrades and remains in Kang Xu, there will be military uprisings within the capital area. If the Malefic of violence approaches Kang Xu, it indicates rebellion by ministers, and an outbreak of plague.

氐：熒惑入氐，（一名天子宮也。）天子失其宮。火入氐，留守二十日不下，當有賊臣在內下反者；三十日不下，其國兵起，人主當之。凡氐為天子宮，罰星入之，宮中不祥之應，所守之國其君死。火逆行氐，失地。一曰多火災。火守氐成句巳者，大人憂，天子惡之。一云：赦，期六月。火逆行入氐，大臣謀反，以其事成。

Dishi mansion: The malefic of violence enters Dishi mansion (Dishi mansion is also called "the palace of the Son of Heaven"), indicating the Son of Heaven loses his palace. If the malefic of violence enters Dishi and remains there for twenty days without leaving, there will be conspiracies against the ruler within the palace; if it remains for thirty days, the country will experience military uprisings, and the ruler himself will suffer the disaster. Generally, Dishi mansion is the palace of the Son of Heaven. When the penal star, the malefic of violence, enters it, it signifies an omen of misfortune within the palace. The country corresponding to the area where the malefic of violence stays will have its ruler die. If the malefic of violence enters Dishi mansion and moves in reverse, it indicates the loss of territory; another interpretation says it signifies many fires. If the malefic of violence lingers in Dishi mansion and forms the shape of 'gou si', it indicates a great worry for the high official, and the Son of Heaven dislikes this omen; another interpretation says it signifies a great amnesty, which will occur within six months. If the malefic of violence moves in reverse and enters Dishi mansion, it indicates conspiracy among the ministers, and the matter will indeed come to pass.

房：熒惑星干犯凌房，國君有憂，色青憂喪，赤憂兵，積尸成山，黑有將相誅，白芒角火災。（金同占。）房四星，股肱將相位也，五星犯之，將相有憂。火入房三道，天子有子。火入房，馬貴；出房，馬賤。火行房南，旱，若守之，為喪；行房北為水，若守之，為兵。火出中道留也，天子有喪，期三月、四月，天下大赦。火犯房鉤鈐，王者憂。（金同。）火逆行至鉤鈐，王者憂。火逆行至鉤鈐，天子侍臣俱亡。

The House Mansion: If the Malefic of violence invades or approaches the House Mansion, the sovereign will face troubles. If the Malefic of violence is green in color, it indicates sorrow from funeral matters. If it is red, it signifies military calamity and a mountain of corpses. If it is black, it suggests the execution of generals and ministers. If it is white with a sharp edge, it indicates fire disasters. (The same applies if the Golden Star invades the House Mansion.) The four stars of the House Mansion represent the position of ministers assisting the sovereign. If the five stars invade this area, the ministers will face worries. The four stars of the House Mansion are divided into three paths: upper, middle, and lower. If the Malefic of violence enters the three paths of the House Mansion, it indicates the emperor will have a son. If the Malefic of violence enters the House Mansion, horse prices rise; if it leaves the House Mansion, horse prices fall. If the Malefic of violence passes south of the House Mansion, it indicates drought; if it lingers in the south, it indicates funeral matters. If the Malefic of violence passes north of the House Mansion, it indicates flood disasters; if it lingers in the north, it indicates military conflicts. If the Malefic of violence exits through the middle path and lingers, the emperor will face a funeral, which should occur within three or four months, followed by a general amnesty. If the Malefic of violence approaches the Hook Star near the House Mansion, the sovereign will face worries. (The same applies if the Golden Star does so.) If the Malefic of violence retrogrades to the Hook Star, the sovereign will face worries. If the Malefic of violence retrogrades to the Hook Star, the emperor's attendants and close ministers will die.

心：熒惑犯心，戰不勝，外國大將鬥死。一曰主亡。火犯心，天子王者絕嗣。火犯太子，太子不利；犯庶子，庶子不利。（土同占。）火舍心，大人振旅，天下兵；若色不明，有喪。（金同占。）火守心，大人易政，主去其宮。火逆行而西守心二十日，大臣為亂。火逆行守心，泣哭吟吟，王命惡之，國有大喪，易政。火守心，哭聲吟吟。（金水同。《漢書天文志》：高祖十二年春，熒惑守心，宮車晏駕。）

The Heart Mansion: The three stars of the Heart Mansion are the heart of the Azure Dragon, and their corresponding region is Shang and the state of Yu. The central star is the Heavenly King, the preceding star is the Crown Prince, and the following star is the younger son. When the Malefic of Violence approaches the Heart Mansion, it indicates that warfare will not be successful, and the general of the enemy country will die in battle; another interpretation suggests that the sovereign will die. When the Malefic of Violence invades the Heart Mansion, it indicates that the Son of Heaven or emperor will have no heirs. When the Malefic of Violence retrogrades and remains in the Heart Mansion, there will be continuous weeping, the king's policies will be rejected by Heaven, the country will suffer great mourning, and the policies will change. Another interpretation suggests that the people will become unruly, the state will change its policies, military actions will begin, the sovereign will face troubles, and there will be rebellions among the ministers, mostly originating from the families of high-ranking generals. If the Malefic of Violence approaches and remains in the Tail Mansion, it indicates that a concubine will be elevated to the rank of consort, and female rulers and consorts will dislike this omen. (The same applies to the Earth Star.) If the Malefic of Violence remains near the Tianjiang Star in the vicinity of the Tail Mansion, it signifies widespread drought, leading to the migration of the people.

箕：熒惑入箕，谷大貴，天下大旱、飢、死。火出天梁，守箕，大赦。火守箕，燕主有疾。一曰憂內變。火守箕，人主惡之。火入箕中，若守之，天下兵起，吏人相攻，士卒半死，人民流亡，不居其鄉，其國失地。

The mansion of Ji Xu is associated with four stars, governing the eight winds and speech, and its territory corresponds to the region of Yan. When the Malefic of violence enters the mansion of Ji Xu, it indicates a sharp rise in grain prices, widespread drought, famine, and deaths. If the Malefic of violence originates from the Shelter star and longevity star and remains lingering in the mansion of Ji Xu, it signifies a great amnesty. If the Malefic of violence lingers in the mansion of Ji Xu, the ruler of Yan will suffer illness; another interpretation suggests internal turmoil. The ruler dislikes this omen. If the Malefic of violence enters the mansion of Ji Xu or lingers within it, it portends warfare across the land, officials and common people attacking each other, with more than half of the soldiers dying, people fleeing their homes and being unable to settle in their native land, and the country losing its territory.

The country will have a confused and unstable ruler. If the Malefic of Violence approaches and lingers in the Ox Mansion, it signifies the destruction of the army and the death of generals. 女：熒惑入女中一旬，王后死，布帛貴，天子內美女。不然，兵甲起。火守女，皇后病疾，宮中有火災。火留逆行犯守乘凌須女，天子及大臣有憂，必有號令。

The Girl Mansion: The four stars of the Girl Mansion govern silk and cloth, marriage, and women's crafts. Its corresponding region is Qi, and it corresponds to the state of Qingzhou. If the Malefic of Violence enters the Girl Mansion and stays for ten days, it indicates the death of the queen, high prices for silk and cloth, and the emperor taking in beautiful women into the palace; otherwise, it signifies the outbreak of military weapons. If the Malefic of Violence lingers in the Girl Mansion, the empress will be ill and there will be a fire in the palace. If the Malefic of Violence lingers or moves retrograde, and it confronts, guards, rides over, or overshadows the four stars of the Girl Mansion, the emperor and ministers will both have worries, and there will certainly be a major decree issued.

虛：熒惑入虛中三月，齊王死；八旬，相死，不死走出。火入虛，天下有變，諸侯有死者，有罷軍破將，天下更政令，期一年。火舍虛，天子喜，賜諸侯。又曰：舍天府門中央，天下赦。火守虛，赤地千里，人相食，將軍兵發，天下更令。火入虛之而犯之，天子自將兵，流血滿野，必有亡國死王，期一年。

When the Malefic of Violence enters the mansion of Emptiness, the King of Qi will die within three months; the prime minister will die within eighty days, or if he does not die, he will have to leave. When the Malefic of Violence enters the mansion of Emptiness, there will be disturbances in the world, some princes will die, armies will disband, generals will be defeated, and the world will change its laws, with the event occurring within one year. When the Malefic of Violence stops in the mansion of Emptiness, the Son of Heaven will be pleased and bestow rewards upon the princes; another interpretation says that when it stops in the middle of the Treasury star's gate, there will be a great amnesty throughout the world. When the Malefic of Violence remains in the mansion of Emptiness, there will be vast areas of land without crops, people will eat each other, generals will mobilize troops, and the world will change its laws. When the Malefic of Violence enters the mansion of Emptiness and attacks it, the Son of Heaven will personally lead the army, blood will flow across the fields, and there will certainly be the downfall of a state and the death of a king, with the event occurring within one year.

危：熒惑入危，大赦天下，賊臣起。火舍天府下，天子賜諸侯王；舍門中央，天下赦。火出入留舍危，其國繕城郭而起兵。火守危，大臣為亂，大國有憂，人民為憂，國易政，不出其年，天下疾死者不葬。火入危守之，諸侯王謀大兵起，天下有憂。若土功。守上星，為人民死；守中星，諸侯死；守下星，大臣死。期一百八十日。

When the Malefic of Violence enters, exits, lingers, or stops in Wēi Sù, the country will repair its walls and fortifications and prepare for military action. If the Malefic of Violence lingers in Wēi Sù, it indicates rebellion by ministers, great troubles in powerful states, suffering among the people, and changes in state policies. These events will occur within the year, and there will be people who die of illness without being buried. If the Malefic of Violence enters and lingers in Wēi Sù, it indicates plots by the feudal princes, large-scale military movements, troubles in the realm, or construction projects involving earth and wood. If it lingers above the first star, it indicates the death of common people. If it lingers on the middle star, it indicates the death of a feudal prince. If it lingers on the lower star, it indicates the death of a minister. The period of influence is one hundred and eighty days.

室：熒惑犯室，以賤人為役。火入室，大臣匿謀，齊國有兵，諸侯人民多死，歲不收，期十日。火逆行室，環繞之，三十日，有破國；六十日不下，有崩主，若太子死，期一年，中二年，遠三年。火逆行經犯室，臣謀兵起。火入室中，天子宮也。留二十日已上，天子惡之，期不出十月中。經云：大臣伐主。火守室，天子為軍自守者，有水災糴貴。又曰：守三日，王者崩，及立王。火入室，守天宮四十日，天子轉粟千里，各虛其舍。火守室離宮正東為父，守正西為母，守正北為妻，守正南為子，守正舍星為身。其言赫赫，某國離易，近期三年，遠期五。

If it remains for sixty days without leaving, it indicates the death of the sovereign or the crown prince, with the time frame being one year, two years, or three years. If the Malefic of Violenceretrograde through and invades Encampment Mansion, it indicates rebellion by ministers and the outbreak of military conflict. When the Malefic of Violence enters Encampment Mansion, which is the palace of the Son of Heaven, and remains for more than twenty days, the Son of Heaven will dislike this omen, and it should occur within the span of ten months. The divination texts say: this is an omen of ministers attacking the sovereign. When the Malefic of Violence remains in Encampment Mansion, it indicates the Son of Heaven mobilizing troops for self-defense, along with floods and high grain prices. Another interpretation says: if it remains for three days, the sovereign will die, followed by the enthronement of a new sovereign. When the Malefic of Violence enters Encampment Mansion and remains in the position of the celestial palace for forty days, it indicates the Son of Heaven transporting grain from a thousand miles away, with granaries all empty. When the Malefic of Violence remains near the palace star of Encampment Mansion, the direction of the star indicates the relationships: staying in the direction of Due East represents the father, Due West the mother, Due North the wife, Due South the son, and staying in the central position of the star indicates the sovereign himself. These celestial phenomena are grand and ominous, indicating turmoil and change in a certain state, with the event occurring within three years at the earliest, or up to five years.

壁：熒惑入壁中三月，衛國君死，入五月，相死，不死走出。（二十八宿同有此占。）火守壁，為天下兵起。一曰狄起。（木同。）火入壁留守之，有土功。

奎：熒惑入奎中，人多疾。火入奎中三月，魯主死；入旬，相死，不死相走。（二十八宿同占。）火入奎環繞之三十日，相死；三月不行，其國王死，不死走出，期三年。火守奎，移動進退，為赦。又曰：天下大水，民多死。火守奎二十日已上，大臣有謀國，有兵。若有死王，加兵於魯國之地，期一年。

Quix宿 consists of sixteen stars and represents the celestial arsenal, governing military forces and irrigation systems. Its corresponding region is Lu, associated with Xu Prefecture. When the Malefic of violence enters Quix宿, it indicates that the people will suffer from many diseases. If the Malefic of violence enters Quix宿 and remains for three months, the ruler of Lu will die; within ten days, the state minister will die, or if not, he will have to leave. (The interpretation for the twenty-eight constellations is the same.) If the Malefic of violence stays in Quix宿 and circles around it for thirty days, the state minister will die; if it remains for three months without moving, the state ruler will die, or if not, he will have to leave, and this will occur within three years. If the Malefic of violence lingers in Quix宿 and then moves forward or backward, it signifies a great amnesty; another interpretation suggests it will cause widespread flooding and many deaths among the people. If the Malefic of violence stays in Quix宿 for more than twenty days, it indicates that ministers may plot against the state's governance, there will be military affairs, or a ruler may die, with military disasters affecting Lu, and this will occur within one year.

婁：熒惑入婁而守之，天下有聚眾，兵大起，車騎用，必有死君走相，天下不熟，民飢，非一國。若山林有大盜，道路阻塞，期一年，遠二年。火入婁，成句巳，國有焚燒倉庫府庫之事。若逆行至奎，大兵起，臣謀將軍為亂，期不出年。火守婁，卒人病，大小金銀貴。火入守婁，其國坐之。一曰：守三十日，其國君有憂。

Liu Xu: Liu Xu consists of three stars, governing the gathering of livestock and sacrifices, and the assembly of people. Its corresponding region is Lu, associated with Xu Prefecture. When the Malefic of violence enters Liu Xu and remains there, it indicates that there will be gatherings of people across the land, large-scale military movements, with chariots and cavalry advancing together. There will certainly be the death of a ruler, the departure of a prime minister, poor harvests, and famine among the people, and this will not be limited to one country. Alternatively, there may be great bandits emerging in the mountains and forests, blocking the roads, and this will occur within a year, or possibly two years if it is further away. If the Malefic of violence enters Liu Xu and forms the shape of 'gou si', it indicates that the country will suffer the burning of granaries and treasuries. If the Malefic of violence reverses its course to Kuixu, it signifies a large-scale military mobilization, with ministers plotting and generals rebelling, and this will occur within a year. If the Malefic of violence remains in Liu Xu, soldiers will fall ill, and the prices of silver and gold will rise. When the Malefic of violence enters and remains in Liu Xu, the country corresponding to this region will suffer its calamity. Another interpretation is that if it remains for thirty days, the ruler of the country will have worries.

胃：熒惑入胃二十日，天下有兵敵，倉廩粟出。火守胃，其年旱飢，民多疫，王者行仁則吉，此火克金，以禮教義天下，無咎。火入胃而守之，三十日不下，趙地大急，人民半死，大兵起，客軍敗，主人勝，期不出一年。火入若守胃東出，民擾。

The Stomach Mansion consists of three stars, representing the granary of heaven, governing the accumulation of grain and food. Its corresponding region is Zhao, and it belongs to the Jiuzhou area. When the Malefic of Violence enters the Stomach Mansion and remains for twenty days, it indicates that there will be enemy troops in the country, and the stored grain in the granaries will be distributed. If the Malefic of Violence lingers in the Stomach Mansion, there will be a year of drought and famine, with many people suffering from epidemics. If the king implements benevolent governance, it will turn into a favorable omen, as this is an image of fire overcoming metal. Using 'ritual' to educate the people about 'righteousness' will prevent calamities. If the Malefic of Violence enters or lingers in the Stomach Mansion and then exits from the east, it indicates unrest among the people. If the Malefic of Violence stays in the Stomach Mansion for thirty days without leaving, the situation in Zhao will become critical, with more than half of the people dying, large-scale military movements, and the attacking army suffering defeat while the defending force wins. These events will occur within a year.

昴：熒惑犯昴，若入之，胡人聚中國，匈奴大出，四夷兵起，國有憂。火入昴，天下不安，兵起，有兵，兵亦罷。四月、五月大赦。近期十五日，遠期三十日赦。又曰：不可為客。一曰：貴人多戮死者。火守昴，無罪者誅。火守昴，胡人不寧。火入昴，已去復還守之，有臣為天子破軍匈奴者，期三年。火犯昴，胡民疾病。一曰有赦，獄訟疑，出囚。

TheHairy Head mansion constellation consists of seven stars known as 'Mao Tou', which govern matters concerning the Hu people and legal punishments. Another view states that many noblemen will be killed. If the Malefic of violence remains in theHairy Head mansion constellation, innocent people will be executed. If the Malefic of violence stays in theHairy Head mansion constellation, the Hu people will not find peace. When the Malefic of violence enters theHairy Head mansion constellation and then returns to stay there, it indicates that a minister will defeat the Xiongnu army for the emperor, with the event expected to occur within three years. When the Malefic of violence approaches theHairy Head mansion constellation, the people of the Hu region will fall ill; another interpretation suggests there will be an amnesty, and those involved in legal disputes will be released from prison.

畢：熒惑犯畢右角，大戰；犯右畢角，小戰。凡五星犯畢，有邊兵，刑罰用。火入畢中，國君自衛守。火入畢，將相憂。一日國相死。火入畢口，有大赦令，期十五日。若三十日，將相憂。若其國有白衣徒聚，期不出一年。火逆行畢至昴，期為死喪寇亂。火逆守畢，兵大起，馬頓其蹄；牛運其角，婦兒碌碌，無所止屬，萬民為其處，飢於菽粟，人人相食。若其國政不安，其留二十日已上，當有掠者，期七十日，趙地凶也。火犯附耳，為兵起，若將相有喪憂，不即免退。

If Mars approaches the star of Fu'er, it indicates the outbreak of military affairs, or the death and worries of ministers and officials, and the situation will not be resolved quickly.

觜：熒惑犯觜，其國兵起，天下動移。火與觜合，趙相死。火守觜，將軍及天下之軍破，牛馬有急行。火守觜，國易政，天下多不孝，父子相鬥，鐵器貴。火犯守觜，野多反者，鈇鉞用。

The Turtle Beak mansion consists of three stars and signifies preservation and gathering. It, together with the Three Stars mansion, forms the head of the White Tiger. Its corresponding region is the state of Wei (Jin), and it corresponds to Yizhou. When the Malefic of violence approaches the Turtle Beak mansion, warfare arises in that region and the world becomes turbulent with migration. When the Malefic of violence and the Turtle Beak mansion are in conjunction, the chancellor of Zhao will die. When the Malefic of violence remains in the Turtle Beak mansion, generals and armies throughout the land will suffer defeat, and cattle and horses will be urgently conscripted and hurriedly transported. When the Malefic of violence remains in the Turtle Beak mansion, the state will change its policies, and there will be many cases of filial impiety throughout the land, with father and son fighting each other, and iron tools becoming expensive. When the Malefic of violence approaches and remains in the Turtle Beak mansion, there will be many rebels in the wild, and the use of axes and swords for punishment will increase.

參：熒惑犯參，有將反者，兵火連，四方相射，王者不安，轉徙宮室。火舍伐，不出三旬，大赦。火守參，以四月守火入參，金錢發。火與鍾龍並見參中，天子秉政，有戮死臣。

The Three Stars Mansion: The Three Stars Mansion is the body of the White Tiger, governing cutting off, killing, and warfare. Its corresponding region is the state of Wei (Jin), and it corresponds to Yizhou. When the Malefic of Violence approaches the Three Stars Mansion, there will be rebellion among generals, continuous warfare, fighting on all sides, and the sovereign will be unable to rest in peace, having to move his palace. If the Malefic of Violence stops in the central star 「Faval」 of the Three Stars Mansion, there will certainly be a great amnesty within thirty days. If the Malefic of Violence remains in the Three Stars Mansion, and it stays there in April with the Malefic entering the Three Stars Mansion, there will be a large expenditure of wealth. If the Malefic of Violence and the 「Zhonglong」 star appear together within the Three Stars Mansion, the Son of Heaven will personally take charge of government affairs, and there will be execution of ministers.

井：熒惑犯井，小有兵，群臣有以家事坐罪者。火以春入井，赦。火入井，兵起，若旱，其國亂。有兵兵止，無兵兵起，大臣當之。火出北河戒至井，干一星，將軍有野死不葬者；干二星中，倖臣有市死者。火守井，大人憂。火入井，留守井中，天子有火災。火干犯乘守，鉞用，為其國內亂兵起。（金同。）一曰：執法者誅之。

The Well Mansion: The East Well consists of eight stars, governing water-related affairs and legal decrees, with its territory corresponding to the state of Qin and the region of Yongzhou. When the Malefic of Violence approaches the Well Mansion, it indicates some military conflict, and among the ministers, some will be punished for family-related offenses. If the Malefic of Violence enters the Well Mansion in spring, it signifies a great amnesty. When the Malefic of Violence enters the Well Mansion, it indicates the outbreak of military conflicts, or drought, and turmoil in the country; existing military conflicts will cease, while those without prior conflict will arise, and senior ministers will bear the consequences of this calamity. If the Malefic of Violence moves from the Northern River Star to the Well Mansion and offends one of its stars, it indicates that a general will die violently in the wilderness and be left unburied; if it offends two stars, it indicates that a favored minister will be executed by public execution. If the Malefic of Violence remains stationary in the Well Mansion, it indicates that a senior official will face worries. If the Malefic of Violence enters and remains in the Well Mansion, it indicates that the emperor will suffer a fire disaster. If the Malefic of Violence offends, dominates, or remains in the Well Mansion, it indicates the use of weapons and punishments, and internal disorder and rebellion will arise in the country. (The same applies to the planet Venus.) Another interpretation: the person in charge of laws and decrees will be executed.

鬼：熒惑犯輿鬼，皇后憂失勢，其執法者戮。火入鬼，有兵喪，金玉用，有大赦，及留守之，物貴，天下大疫，其留二十日已上，兵大起，多戰死者，為宗廟神明事。若民多痢疾，若有女喪，期十日。火入鬼，火賊在大人之側。火守鬼東北，男子兵相殺毒守東南，萬民多死；守西北，為戎兵反逆兵事；守西南，人君惡之。秦漢有反臣兵事，以赦令解之。（土同。）火出入鬼，守成句巳，尊者失宗廟，期六十日，若百八十日。火經鬼中，犯乘積尸，兵在西北，有沒軍死將，又留守之，天子有喪，期以十二月。從西來人守之，下賤多死，有土功事，有德令。

Ghost Mansion: The five stars of Ghost Mansion govern rituals for spirits and matters of death and mourning. The white gas in the center is called "Accumulated Corpse." Its corresponding region is Qin and it belongs to the state of Yongzhou. When the Malefic of Violence approaches Ghost Mansion, it indicates the queen will be anxious and lose power, and those who hold the law will be killed. When the Malefic of Violence enters Ghost Mansion, there will be military calamities and deaths, with a great consumption of gold and jade, and also a major amnesty. If it remains there for a long time, prices will rise sharply and there will be a great epidemic across the country; if it stays for more than twenty days, there will be large-scale military movements, many soldiers will die, and there may also be rituals for ancestral temples or many people suffering from dysentery, or the death of a woman, which will occur within ten days. When the Malefic of Violence enters Ghost Mansion, there will be thieves who set fires near the king. If the Malefic of Violence remains in the northeast of Ghost Mansion, it indicates men will kill each other due to military conflicts; if it remains in the southeast, many people will die; if it remains in the northwest, there will be military rebellions; if it remains in the southwest, the ruler will dislike this omen. At this time, there will be rebellious ministers and military conflicts in the regions of Qin and Hanzhong, and amnesty can be used to resolve the situation. (The same applies to the planet Saturn.) When the Malefic of Violence enters and exits Ghost Mansion and remains there, forming the shape of "Jiu Si," it indicates that the noble person will lose the ancestral temple, which will occur within sixty days or one hundred and eighty days. When the Malefic of Violence passes through the center of Ghost Mansion and invades and overpowers the "Accumulated Corpse" gas, there will be military calamities in the northwest, with the complete annihilation of armies and the death of generals; if it remains there, the emperor will have a mourning event, which will occur in December. When the Malefic of Violence comes from the west and remains there, there will be many deaths among the lower class and poor people, there will be construction projects involving earth and wood, and also there will be benevolent decrees.

柳：熒惑犯柳，有木功事，若名木見伐者。（五星占同。）火入柳，諸侯有慶賀之事，天下大樂。火守柳，有兵，逆臣在側，天下旱，多火災，萬物五穀不成，糴大貴也。火犯守柳，有遵主為非，亂其國事，若天子以飲食為害，不安社稷。

Willow Mansion: The eight stars of Willow Mansion represent the beak of the Vermilion Bird, governing grass and trees, and also overseeing the food and kitchen of the Son of Heaven. Its corresponding region is Zhou, and it relates to the three rivers area. When the Malefic of Violence approaches Willow Mansion, it indicates construction projects involving wood or the felling of valuable trees. (The interpretation is the same as in the Five Stars Divination method.) When the Malefic of Violence enters Willow Mansion, it signifies joy among the feudal lords and happiness throughout the land. If the Malefic of Violence remains stationary in Willow Mansion, it foretells military conflicts, disloyal ministers close to the ruler, great drought, frequent fires, and failure of crops, leading to a sharp rise in grain prices. If the Malefic of Violence approaches and remains stationary in Willow Mansion, it suggests someone restraining the ruler to commit wrongdoing, disrupting state affairs, or the Son of Heaven suffering harm from food, causing instability in the state.

七星：熒惑入七星，君有置太子者。火入留舍七星，國失地，天下大亂，若臣下衣服失度。火守七星，有兵，若聚車騎。又曰：社稷傾亡，宮中生荊棘。又曰：治宮室之事。火守七星三十日，其君憂。火守七星，為臣，中外兵，以德令解之。

Star Mansions: The Seven Stars form the neck of the Vermilion Bird, governing urgent matters and embroidered garments, and their corresponding territory belongs to the Zhou dynasty, associated with the three rivers region. When the Malefic of violence enters the Seven Stars, it indicates the monarch will have matters concerning the appointment of a crown prince. If the Malefic of violence enters and remains in the Seven Stars, it signifies the loss of territory by the state, great chaos throughout the land, or ministers exceeding the law in their attire. If the Malefic of violence lingers in the Seven Stars, it indicates military affairs or the gathering of chariots and cavalry. Another interpretation suggests the collapse of the state and thorns growing in the palace. Another interpretation suggests the construction of palaces and buildings. If the Malefic of violence lingers in the Seven Stars for thirty days, the ruler of the corresponding territory will be troubled. If the Malefic of violence lingers in the Seven Stars, it should be interpreted as concerning ministers, indicating military affairs both within and outside the capital, which can be resolved by issuing edicts of benevolent governance.

張：熒惑入張，大亂兵起，六月干之，國空。火逆犯乘張，大亂兵起。火與張合，所在之國不可舉事用兵，必受其殃。（《漢志》云：水合於危同，又水合於斗同。）火守張，法大將有千里驚，大水，五穀貴。一曰：有土功，作役不時，百姓怨謗。火守張，兵起，女主用事，宮中生荊棘。火非其次守張，當去不去，其絕大赤，其國舉兵，從留得其次，不為災殃。火犯張，若守之，天下有兵，宮門當閉，天子有急，女子不安，五穀不成，人民大飢。一曰：火居張，人絕糧。

Zhang Xu: Zhang Xu consists of six stars, representing the throat of the Vermilion Bird. It presages treasures, the ceremonial vessels used in the royal ancestral temple, and the reception of guests. Its corresponding territory belongs to the Zhou dynasty and is associated with the three rivers region. When the Malefic of violence enters Zhang Xu, it indicates the outbreak of great disorder and military action. If it violates Zhang Xu in June, the country will become empty and deserted. When the Malefic of violence moves backward and approaches or dominates Zhang Xu, it also indicates the outbreak of great disorder and military action. When the Malefic of violence and Zhang Xu are in the same position and harmonize, the country corresponding to its territory should not engage in military campaigns or take actions, otherwise it will suffer calamities. (The "Book of Han · Astronomical Records" says: When the water star combines with the mansion of Wei Xu, the same interpretation applies; when the water star combines with the mansion of Dou Xu, the same interpretation applies.) When the Malefic of violence remains in Zhang Xu, according to the divination method, it presages a sudden change at a distance for a general, and also indicates a great flood and high grain prices. Another interpretation says it presages construction projects and forced labor that are out of season, leading to public resentment and slander. When the Malefic of violence remains in Zhang Xu, it indicates the outbreak of military conflicts, a female ruler taking power, and the growth of thorns in the palace. When the Malefic of violence does not stay in its proper position but remains in Zhang Xu, not moving as it should, with a bright red light, the country will have military action. If it returns to its proper position from where it was detained, there will be no calamity. When the Malefic of violence approaches or remains in Zhang Xu, it presages military conflicts throughout the country, the palace gates should be closed, the emperor faces urgent difficulties, women are restless, the five grains are not ripe, and the people suffer from great famine. Another interpretation says that when the Malefic of violence is in Zhang Xu, people will run out of food.

翼：熒惑犯入翼，車騎無極，四海大兵，民當何息？萬民若飢，當何所食？火逆行翼，不出其年，有軍起，天下大憂。火守翼，若大旱，魚鹽五穀貴，萬物不成。火逆行翼，歲飢，民流千里，有亡國，蛇龍見。

Wings Mansion: The twenty-two stars of Wings Mansion belong to the Vermilion Bird's wings, governing music officials, performers, and distant guests. Its corresponding region is Chu, and it corresponds to Jingzhou. If the Malefic of Violence approaches and enters Wings Mansion, it indicates endless military mobilizations, great warfare throughout the land, and the people will not know when they can rest. The common people suffer from hunger and have no place to find food. If the Malefic of Violence moves retrograde in Wings Mansion, there will be military uprisings within the year, causing great worry across the land. If the Malefic of Violence remains stationary in Wings Mansion, it indicates a great drought, with high prices for fish, salt, and grain, and all things failing to grow. If the Malefic of Violence moves retrograde in Wings Mansion, it indicates a year of famine, with people fleeing hundreds of miles, the collapse of states, and the appearance of strange creatures like snakes and dragons.

軫：熒惑入軫中四月，楚王死，入旬日，相見□，不死走出。（二十八宿同占。）□□□火入軫，兵盜。一雲水旱為害，人民擾動，妖言無實，國政數改，士卒勞苦。火出軫南，民多病；出其北，民多死。火守兩角間，若至軫道，絕出其南，多病；出其北，多死；出其陰，陰伐利，戰勝；出其陽，陽伐利，戰勝。火以十月守軫，三十日車騎發，若居軫中心，天下人盡給軍事，無得居家者。火守軫，旱，水枯阻塞，國多火災，萬物五穀不成。火干犯軫，大臣戮死。

The Chariot Mansion consists of four stars and presides over carriages, wind, and death and mourning. Its corresponding region is Chu, associated with Jingzhou. If the Malefic of violence enters the Chariot Mansion, the King of Chu will die within four months; if it enters within ten days, the prime minister will be removed, or if not dead, he will have to flee. (The same applies to the twenty-eight mansions.) If the Malefic of violence enters the Chariot Mansion, it signifies military calamity and bandits. Another interpretation suggests it leads to drought or flood, causing unrest among the people, spreading rumors without foundation, frequent changes in government policies, and hardship for soldiers. If the Malefic of violence exits the Chariot Mansion from the south, the people will suffer many illnesses; if it exits from the north, many will die. If the Malefic of violence remains between the two corners of the Chariot Mansion or travels along the 'Chariot Path' and exits directly from the south, there will be many illnesses; if it exits from the north, many will die. If it exits from the northern (shadow) side, military campaigns launched from the northern side will be advantageous and lead to victory; if it exits from the southern (bright) side, military campaigns launched from the southern side will be advantageous and lead to victory. If the Malefic of violence remains in the Chariot Mansion during the tenth lunar month, military forces will be mobilized within thirty days. If it is exactly at the center of the Chariot Mansion, all people will be conscripted for military service and no one can remain at home. If the Malefic of violence remains in the Chariot Mansion, it signifies drought, dried-up water sources, blocked waterways, frequent fires in the country, and failure of crops and all things to mature. If the Malefic of violence interferes with the Chariot Mansion, it signifies the death of high-ranking officials.
