The Assignment of the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches

天地推遷陰陽極元，天為陽地為陰，列萬象於宇宙，布九曜於中天。宇宙即天地也。日出扶桑遇白羊，而金烏朗烈；日在卯戌。月生滄海到金牛，而玉兔輝煌；月在卯酉。木入秦州旺鬼，而初歸巨蟹；木星在木。土居鄭國好亢，而正廟秤宮。土星在辰。

Heaven and earth change and transform, yin and yang reach their fundamental origins—Heaven belongs to yang, Earth belongs to yin; myriad things and images are arranged in the universe, with nine luminaries spread across the sky—note that the universe refers to Heaven and Earth. The sun rises from Fusu and meets the White Ram constellation, so the golden crows appear bright and radiant—note that the sun is in the卯 and戌 positions; the moon arises from the vast sea and moves to the Bull constellation, so the jade rabbits shine particularly brightly—note that the moon is in the卯 and酉 positions. The planet Jupiter enters the territory of Qin and is strong in the Ghost mansion, first returning to the Crab constellation—note says 'Jupiter in wood'; the planet Saturn resides in the territory of Zheng and is favored in the Neck mansion, and its temple is in the Balance constellation—note says Saturn is in the辰 position.

給諫功臣，定是水臨雙女，水星在巳。參政學士，蓋緣土好寶瓶。土星在子。南方熒惑在卯宮，貴饒衣食；火星居卯。西方太白向衛分，益壽延年。金星居亥。要知淺薄，無過土埋雙女，土星在巳。欲問榮華，大抵金居亢位。金星在辰。

Those who can hold positions such as Attendant Counselor or Advisor to the Imperial Council are certainly marked by the Water Star (Jing) appearing in the Double Female Palace — the note says the Water Star is in the Si position. Those who can serve as Deputy Prime Minister or Imperial Academy Scholar are generally indicated by the Earth Star (Tu) being pleased in the Bottle Palace — the note says the Earth Star is in the Zi position. The Southern Mars (Fenghuo) falling in the卯 Palace signifies honor and wealth — the note says Mars is in the Mao position. The Western Venus (Tai Bai) facing the territory of Wei indicates longevity and extended life — the note says Venus is in the Hai position. If one's destiny is shallow, nothing is worse than the Earth Star covering the Double Female Palace — the note says the Earth Star is in the Si position. If one seeks a life of prosperity, it is generally the Venus Star residing in the Neck Mansion — the note says Venus is in the Chen position.

克妻害子，太乙與天尾同宮。孛計同躔於五七之宮。足智多才，木星與太陽交會。木日相會於身命之位。中年命蹇，火孛而守申酉；火孛同申或酉。末歲時通，日月定居子午。日月同子或午。初否後泰，日月臨於身命之宮；日月守命守身。先吉後凶，金木照於鼠牛之地。金木居子居丑。金乘火位，其人少失雙親；金忌居卯戌宮。火入金鄉，此命早拋兄弟。

The person is harmed by the spouse and damages children when Taiyi and Yuebo are in the same palace, and both孛 and Ji Du move to the fifth palace, which is the position for children or the seventh palace, which is for spouses. Initially good but later bad is when Venus and Jupiter are in the palace of Zi or Chou, with Venus and Jupiter located in the palace of Zi or Chou. When Venus is in the fire palace, the person loses both parents at a young age, as Venus is in the palace of Mao or Xu, which belong to fire. When Mars enters the metal palace, the person leaves brothers and sisters early, as Mars is in the palace of metal.

火怕辰酉位，妻無子息，都緣孛在七宮；孛星忌居妻位。子授官班，紫氣在於兒位。氣星宜守兒位。多榮產業，木金會於田園；金木妙居田宅。少失資財，金火同居財位。金火忌守財宮。水火併居田宅，破家蕩產；水火忌居田宅。日木會於財宮，發福多財。日木喜臨財帛。

Continuing from the previous sentence, the planet Mars is feared when it falls in the positions of Chen or You, as Chen and You belong to metal. The lack of children in the family is due to the planet Yuebo falling in the seventh house — the planet Yuebo is unfavorable when it resides in the position of wife and concubine. The son can attain official rank and status when the planet Ziqi falls in the children's house — the planet Ziqi is favorable when it resides in the position of children. Prosperity and honor in property and wealth come when the planets Wood and Metal meet in the house of fields and homes — the harmonious combination of Metal and Wood is favorable in the house of fields and homes. Loss of wealth at a young age occurs when the planets Metal and Fire are together in the house of wealth — the planets Metal and Fire are unfavorable when they reside in the house of wealth. When the planets Water and Fire are together in the house of fields and homes, it indicates the destruction of the family's fortune — the planets Water and Fire are unfavorable when they reside in the house of fields and homes. When the planet Sun and the planet Wood meet in the house of wealth, it brings good fortune and abundant wealth — the combination of Sun and Wood is favorable in the house of wealth.

財帛衰退，被水宿加臨；水星忌居財宮。田業多增，定月華照耀。太陰愛守田宮。生來少疾，日月金水相當；遇吉神而無患。處世多迍，火羅計孛對照；逢凶星主多災。頻遭禍患，殺曜入於高強。殺曜宜弱不宜強。自小無災，日月不臨閒極。日月宜強不宜弱。

The fortune of wealth and property is gradually declining, because the water star is occupying the palace of wealth and property; the water star is unfavorable when it resides in the palace of wealth. The land and property are continuously increasing, certainly because the Moon is shining brightly on the palace of land and property; the Moon is favorable when it guards the palace of land and property. Being born with few diseases and misfortunes is because the Sun and Moon are properly combined with the metal and water stars; encountering auspicious deities brings no worries. Facing many difficulties in life is because the fire star, Ruo Liu, Ji Du, and Yue Bo are coming to oppose; encountering malevolent stars leads to many troubles. Frequently encountering misfortunes is because the killing stars are located in a strong and flourishing position; killing stars should be weak rather than strong. Having no misfortunes since childhood is because the sun and moon are not located in the idle or extreme palaces, which are weak positions; the sun and moon should be strong rather than weak.

年年獲福，皆因三日逢金。太陰泊處前後宮共四十五度，謂三日宮。日日有災，蓋謂八宮見火。疾厄宮，怕見火羅。氣羅同步，其人好逸山林。氣羅指空門，孤克言。金土相逢，此輩蓋能修合。金土指道門修合。三方若背，為人空貴無官。二限主皆背陷。一主加臨此命，永成喜慶。如一主臨垣有用，則主一生福慶也。

Year after year, one can receive blessings because the "Three-Day Palace" meets the planet Venus—where the Moon stops and the total degrees before and after amount to forty-five, called the Three-Day Palace. However, if there is calamity every day, it is because the Eighth Palace sees the planet Mars—the Eighth Palace is the Palace of Illness, which most fears the planet Mars and "Rohini." "Purple Qi" and "Rohini" move in unison, indicating that this person prefers to retreat into mountains and forests—these two celestial bodies refer to Buddhist monks, considering their solitary and harsh nature. When Venus and Saturn meet, such people are generally able to prepare medicinal herbs—Venus and Saturn refer to Taoist alchemy. If all three harmonious directions are opposite, this person is merely a name without real position—due to both limit rulers being opposite and weak. If any one of the main stars is present in this destiny, the person will have joy throughout life—when a certain main star is in its proper place and useful, it indicates a lifetime of blessings.

天地肇闢星辰混同，天地開闢之時，星辰混而為一。循三百餘度，以不息歷二十八宿而無窮。諸星行度，無一刻之停。盈虛有時，只在夏冬之至。盈者，滿也；虛者，虧也。疾徐以望不離晦朔之中。疾者，速也；徐者，遲也。

The text says: When heaven and earth first began to form, the stars were all mixed together as one — the commentary explains that this refers to the very beginning when all the stars were undifferentiated. Afterwards, the stars moved along the celestial circle of more than three hundred and sixty degrees, continuously passing through the twenty-eight constellations without end — the commentary states that the movement of the stars never stops. The fullness and waning of the sun and moon each have their own time, with the key points being the summer solstice and winter solstice — fullness means completeness, and waning means deficiency. The speed of their movement is measured by the time of the full moon, always remaining within the period between new moon and the next new moon — fast movement is quick, and slow movement is gradual.

原夫日管獅子之宮，日午，月為巨蟹之位，月未，寅亥屬木，木居寅亥，而卯戌屬火，火居卯戌，辰酉皆金，金居辰酉，而子丑皆土，土居子丑，水德一星，巳申兩處，水居巳申，兼乎四曜分長短出入之不齊。四曜，氣孛羅計也。照彼眾人，有禍福吉凶之所據。諸星所照，有吉有凶。

Now it is said that the Sun governs the Lion's Palace, and the annotation clearly states that it is the午宫; the Moon governs the Crab's Palace, and the annotation clearly states that it is theWei Palace. The寅 and亥 palaces belong to wood, and the planet of Jupiter is originally in the寅 and亥; the卯 and戌 palaces belong to fire, and the planet of Mars is originally in the卯 and戌; the辰 and酉 palaces belong to metal, and the planet of Venus is in the辰 and酉; the子 and丑 palaces belong to earth, and the planet of Saturn is in the子 and丑; the planet of Mercury has its original palace in the巳 and申, hence it is said that Mercury resides in the巳 and申. In addition, the four auxiliary stars move at different rates, some slow and some fast, their ingress and egress vary—these four stars are the Purple Qi, the Moon孛, the Luo Hou, and the Ji Du. They illuminate all people, and thus the fortune, misfortune, good and bad of people are determined—wherever the stars shine, there may be good or bad fortune.

觀其十一曜佈於十二宮。五星六曜，臨十二宮以定榮枯。入於失次，則家破迭迭。諸星怒失宮、失次。守於垣局，則腰金重重。眾曜喜歸垣局。羅氣而僧道喜遇。羅氣乃緇黃之宿。水木而仕宦欣逢。水木為文學之星。凡星數之通變。凡談星數須通變為妙。

Observing these eleven luminaries distributed among the twelve palaces—five planets together with six luminaries appear in the twelve palaces, used to determine the prosperity and decline of a person's life. When the stars fall into disorderly positions, families will break up and people will suffer continuously—commentary says that the stars become angry and lose their proper palaces, departing from their original order. When the stars remain in their own palaces, the person will be wealthy and prosperous, with great fortune—commentary says that all the luminaries prefer to return to their own palaces. 'Ruo Hou' and 'Zi Qi' are auspicious for monks and Taoists—Ruo and Qi are originally star mansions associated with monks and Taoists. 'Water Star' and 'Wood Star' are favorable for officials—Water and Wood are originally stars governing literature and scholarship. In discussing star destinies, it is valuable to understand change and transformation—commentary says that discussing star numbers should be based on flexibility and adaptability.

在生時之插籠。如欲論命，定時辰之真假。登明太乙之宮金見，產雙生之子。亥為登明，巳為太乙。太沖河魁之位火明，主兵將之職。卯為太沖，戌為河魁，火星臨此二宮，兵將之權。如是魁星顯，有震世之文，文官重魁星，武宿高作，擎天之柱，武職論將星，為公為侯順於晝夜。日喜晝而月喜夜。或夭或貧，失乎向背。凶星向而吉星背。

The key to change lies in determining the exact time of birth — to discuss a person's fate, one must first accurately determine the truth of the birth time. The palace of Dengming and Taiyi encountering the planet Venus indicates the birth of twins — the palace of Hai is called Dengming, and the palace of Si is called Taiyi. The palaces of Taichong and Heqiu with the planet Mars shining brightly indicate the command of military forces — the palace of Mao is called Taichong, and the palace of Xu is called Heqiu; when Mars is present in these two palaces, one holds the authority to command troops. If the star of the Scholar is prominent, there will be a great reputation in literature — civil officials value the star of the Scholar; if the star of the General is strong, one becomes a pillar of the state — military officials focus on the star of the General. Those who are granted titles of marquis or duke are in harmony with the suitability of day and night — the sun prefers daylight, and the moon prefers nighttime; as for夭折 (early death) or poverty, it is due to losing the method of alignment —凶星 (malevolent stars) face the命宫 (destiny palace), while吉星 (auspicious stars) instead turn away.

凡此生人關乎星象。大凡人生於世，皆係星辰所主。高官重職，豈無伏逆遲留。遲留伏逆，有喜有忌。寸土卓錐，亦有好樂廟旺。廟旺好樂，有吉有凶。豈不以榮名水星遇之者，登科及第，此言水星得局，文昌金宿見之者，天地都魁，此言金星為用。

All these things indicate that a person's life is connected to the stars—generally speaking, people living in the world are governed by the stars. Those who attain high official positions, does their fate not include aspects of concealment, reversal, delay, and stagnation? Concealment and stagnation may have both favorable and unfavorable aspects; those who are poor and have no place to stand, their fate may still include auspiciousness and strength—auspiciousness and strength also have both good and bad outcomes. As for glorious reputation, those who encounter the 'Water Star' can achieve success in exams—this refers to the Water Star being in a favorable position; those who see the 'Wen Chang' position with the 'Metal Star' can occupy the top position in the world—this refers to using the Metal Star as the main element.

歲居蟹鬼，而順將逆相。木入秦川，日上戌婁，而八座三臺，日遇白羊斗牛之次，上德廟地，土號太常，星張之宿，羅曜喜來，天首周邦，前諸星以，皆若舉一隅而自裁。前論諸星如是，舉一以反三可也。

The planet Jupiter, also known as the 'Wood Star', resides in the Cancer mansion and the Ghost mansion, with its forward movement representing the general and its backward movement representing the prime minister — a note says that the Wood Star entering the Qin川 region corresponds to the territory. The Sun rises in the戌 mansion, the Bond mansion, and thus holds the rank of the Eight Seats and Three Palaces — the Sun meets the White Ram's second position. The second positions of the Dipper mansion and the Ox mansion are considered the upper virtue temple grounds, where the 'Earth Star' is called the Grand Music; the positions of the Star mansion and the Extended Net mansion are where the 'Rohini' is pleased to go — this is referred to as the heavenly head surrounding the state. The above-mentioned stars are roughly described, but they are only examples to illustrate a corner, allowing people to judge on their own — a note says that since the previous discussion of the stars is like this, one should infer other cases accordingly.

入則宰職，出則憲臺，祿馬不閒，命重使君之職。祿勳驛馬宜其關照。福祿稍滯，權卑，令尹之才。官祿福德主星陷弱。少貧、老富，命弱限高；體衰用強，先貴、後刑，主沈身顯。命陷身高。

Taking up a position as prime minister in court or serving as an imperial censor in the outside office indicates that both the禄星 (Luxing, Official Star) andThe Post-horse (Yimǎ, Post-horse) are active. Notes say that the Luxing and Yimǎ should be considered in relation to the命宫 (Minggong, Destiny Palace). If the official star and virtue fortune are slightly blocked and the position is low, one's ability is only suitable for that of a county magistrate. Notes say that the main stars in the official star palace and virtue fortune palace are weak. Being poor in youth but wealthy in old age is due to the native destiny being weak while the life period is strong. The native body may be weak, but the used force is strong. Gaining prestige first and then suffering punishment is due to the destiny ruler being submerged while the body ruler is prominent. Notes say that the destiny palace is weak while the body palace is strong.

蝕神交於日月，則父母有傷；羅計為蝕神，西沒地逢氣孛，則妻兒可忌。妻妾為西地，計金相見，人必雕青；計金守照，水木重臨，文章秀麗。水木相逢，三方背而壽短，三限主皆陷背，九事全而福備。四元三限，時命為九事。

The celestial spirits known as Luo Hou and Ji Du are the devouring spirits that can eclipse the sun and moon; when these two meet, the parents may suffer harm. Notes explain that the wife's palace is associated with the western direction. When Ji Du meets with the planet Venus, the person is sure to have tattoos or body markings—because Ji Du and Venus are in charge of the destiny or illuminate the destiny. When the planet Mercury and Jupiter overlap and shine upon someone, their writings will be elegant—because Mercury and Jupiter meet. If all three harmonious directions are opposite, the lifespan will be short—because all three destiny rulers are weak and opposite. If all nine matters are complete, then the fortune will be full—when the four elements, three destiny limits, birth time, and original destiny are combined, they are called the nine matters.

官祿不逢正合，恩蔭出身，祿主有背身命，囚忌若臨暗刑，徒流可畏。囚忌暗刑當照，或文才出眾，而卿薦推取，此言其醇，或祖業破散，而身自刑傷。此言其疵，一則福星強而田園被刑，福主強田主弱，一則學問高而官祿有陷。學識好官祿陷，三元俱順，則富貴俱足，三元星而得用，四空無氣，則成敗相仍。對合無吉神助。

The official star has not properly aligned with the命宫, so one can only rely on ancestral favor and privilege—this indicates that the official star is distant from the命宫. If the stars "囚" and "忌" also appear with hidden afflictions, there is a risk of exile or imprisonment—these stars and hidden afflictions directly affect the命. Some people are exceptionally talented and are recommended by officials for appointment, indicating the pure aspect of their destiny; others suffer from the breakdown of ancestral property and personal injuries, indicating the flawed aspect of their destiny. One case is when the fortune virtue star is strong but the field and residence star is afflicted—fortune virtue is strong while field and residence is weak; another case is when one has profound knowledge but the official star is in a weak position—knowledge is good, but the official star is weak. If all three elements are harmonious, wealth and status will both be attained; if the four main positions are empty and lack vitality, success and failure will alternate continuously—neither the opposite position nor the triple harmony has auspicious deities to assist.

限元明健，利名有成。限主若高，自當獲福，身命歸垣，衣祿不虧。身命得體，終須祿自盈餘。疾厄遇火孛，女多產死之因；火孛居疾厄宮，遷移犯土羅，男有旅亡之兆。土羅居遷移宮，有三合凶照，卻一世無迍，要看身命主何如。有四直吉臨，反平生少福，因身命星受克故耳。子有喪敗，父犯惡逆，子命關乎父，夫受官班，而婦當命服，婦命繫於夫，亦宜修人事以應天時，未可徒泥星辰之災福。天時、人事，相為表裡。

The main star of the limit is bright and strong, thus achieving fame and fortune; if the limit master is high, one naturally gains blessings. If the body palace and the life palace return to their original constellations, then clothing, food, and salary will not be lacking. When the body and life stars are in harmony, the person will ultimately have enough resources. If the illness and injury palace is occupied by the fire star and the moon孛, women often die from childbirth. When the fire and孛 stars are in the illness and injury palace, there is danger. If the migration palace is occupied by the earth star and the Luo Hou, men may die away from home. When the earth and Luo Hou stars are in the migration palace, there is a sign of misfortune. There are cases where the three harmonious directions have凶 stars shining on the命 and yet the person has no difficulties, which depends on the condition of the body and life stars. There are also cases where the four cardinal directions have吉 stars shining on the命 but the person has little fortune, because the body and life stars are restricted. If there is loss or failure concerning children, it is because the father has committed evil and rebellion. The destiny of children is connected to the father. If the husband receives an official rank, the wife should wear the appropriate ceremonial clothing. The destiny of women is connected to the husband. People should also improve their human affairs to correspond with the heavenly timing, and should not be overly rigid about the disasters and blessings indicated by the stars. Heavenly timing and human affairs are originally interdependent.

太陽樂晝，自卯以至於申。日喜於晝，自卯時以至申時生者佳。月魄逢宵，終寅而始於酉。月愛夜生，自酉時以至於寅時者為美。寅午戌屬火位，太陽偏樂此宮。日為火之副，宜在寅午戌之宮。申子辰屬水局，太陰宜居此位。月乃水之精妙，臨申子辰之位。

The sun delights in daylight, from the卯 (Mao) hour to the申 (Shen) hour — the note says the sun prefers daylight, and those born between the Mao and Shen hours are considered favorable; the moon's spirit prefers night, rising at酉 (You) hour and ending at寅 (Yin) hour — the note says the moon loves to be born at night, and those born between You and Yin hours are considered beautiful. The three palaces of寅 (Yin), 午 (Wu), and 戌 (Xu) belong to the fire position, and the sun particularly favors these palaces — the sun is the deputy of fire, so it is suitable to be in the Yin, Wu, and Xu palaces; the three palaces of申 (Shen), 子 (Zi), and 辰 (Chen) form a water trinity, and the moon is suitable to reside in these positions — the moon is the essence of water, so it is appropriate to be in the Shen, Zi, and Chen palaces.

泉枯牛壑，須憑金曜生成；水金同丑，月喜畢宮，切忌火金同度。火金助月，忌在酉宮。木嫌坎位，木打寶瓶，月晦離明，月居日位，亥子乃江湖之位，太陽不足為奇，日在北方為背，巳午乃盛夏之時，月魄晦明為忌。月在南方亦背。

Spring water dries up in the ox ditch, and it must rely on the "Golden Star" to assist and complete the matter — the commentary says that water and metal are both in the ox mansion. The Moon favors residing in the Net mansion, but it must avoid the Mars and Golden Star being together — fire and metal can assist the Moon, but they are to be avoided when they are together in the酉 mansion. The Jupiter dislikes the position of the Water mansion, which is exactly what "wood strikes the water bottle" means; when the Moon reaches the Fire mansion, it becomes obscure, which is like the Moon falling into the Sun's native mansion. The亥 and 子 positions are the positions of rivers and lakes, and the Sun being here is not unusual — the Sun being in the north is considered going against its natural course. The巳 and 午 positions are the time of summer, and the Moon's spirit being here is both bright and dark, which are both to be avoided — the Moon being in the south is also considered going against its natural course.

一天黯淡，只緣火曜臨陽，火日同宮，六合溟濛，必是羅?犯日。日羅相犯，月弄兔華生瑞彩，月居卯房，日居婁宿耀金烏，日在戌婁，木臨東井，要神首以加臨，木羅同未井度，氣占金牛，見月孛而無害氣孛共丑牛宿，男人切忌女人曜。日木土水為陽星，月火金羅為陰星。夜裡須防日裡星。陽星喜晝，陰星喜夜。

The sky is dark and dim, because the fire star is above the sun—fire and sun are in the same palace; all around in every direction is a misty darkness, which must be due to the 'Rohini' star invading the sun—sun and Rohini are in mutual conflict. The moon shines with the light of the jade rabbit, producing auspicious colors, which is because the moon is in theMao Palace (Mao Palace) and the 'Room Mansion'. The sun is in the娄宫 (Lou Palace) and the golden phoenix shines brightly, which is because the sun is in theXu Palace (Xu Palace) and the Lou Mansion. The 'Jupiter' star is in the East Well (东井), and the 'Rohini' star, which is also the divine head, is also present—Jupiter and Rohini are both in theWei Palace (Wei Palace) and the Well Mansion. The 'Purple Qi' star is in the Ox Mansion (金牛), and seeing the 'Moon孛' star is not harmful—Qi and孛 are both in theChou Palace (Chou Palace) and the Ox Mansion. Men should avoid stars that belong to women: the sun, Jupiter, Saturn, and Mercury are yang stars, while the moon, Mars, Venus, and Rohini are yin stars; those born at night should also be cautious of yang stars—yang stars are favorable in the day, while yin stars are favorable at night.

羅?居午，切忌水德當權，火羅在午，太乙躔虛，最喜太陰同度。月孛居子，計都切忌三陽位，計入寅宮，太乙專喜夜裡生，孛宜夜生，水孛同度性偏淫，水孛照身命，水火同臨壽必損。水火守身命，火金子位土孛巳宮兩相剋戰，切忌坐命。如此者非貧即夭。

Rohini is located in theWu Palace, and it is most unfavorable for the Water Star to be in charge—note says Fire and Rohini are both in午; Taiyi, which is also called the Moon孛, reaches theEmptiness mansion, and it is most favorable for the Yin Moon to be with it—note says the Moon孛 is in theZi Palace. Jidu should avoid being in the three yang positions—note says Jidu enters theYin Palace; Taiyi and the Moon孛 prefer those born at night—Moon孛 is suitable for night birth. When the Water Star and the Moon孛 are together, the nature tends to be licentious—Water and孛 illuminate the命宫 and身宫; when the Water Star and the Fire Star are both present in the命宫, lifespan is surely damaged. When Fire and Metal are in the子 position, and Earth and孛 are in theSi Palace, they mutually control each other and fight, which is most unfavorable for the命宫—such a destiny is either poor or short-lived.

老者切忌遇強星，老怕生旺星，壯歲卻宜逢旺曜。少嫌死絕曜，朝雲、暮雨、水孛，俱坐遷移；水孛淫蕩星也，性躁、猖狂、火羅，同躔命度。火羅剛暴星也，仁慈聰俊，木正東方；木星得位，性敏巧明，火行南律。火星得局也，羅首猛烈，羅守命宮，計尾陰柔。計在命位。

Old age should avoid encountering strong and prosperous stars—seniors fear meeting stars that are flourishing and vigorous; middle age, however, is most suitable for encountering prosperous and strong stars—youths are reluctant to meet stars that are dead or exhausted. The unpredictable nature of morning clouds and evening rain, with unstable movements, is due to the water star and the "moon孛" being located in the migration宫—water and孛 are inherently fickle stars. A quick-tempered and reckless nature, with impulsive actions, is due to the fire star and the "Ruoou" being in the命度—fire and Ruoou are naturally fierce and violent stars. Being kind, intelligent, and handsome is due to the "Jupiter" being in the east—Jupiter is in its proper position. A quick-witted and agile nature is due to the fire star being in the south—fire is in its proper position. "Ruoou" is the leader, with a fierce and intense temperament—Ruoou is in the命宫; "Ji Du" is the tail, with a gentle and subtle temperament—Ji Du is in the命宫 position.

太陽為性威嚴，日者君父之象，月孛厥心淫毒。孛為掃星之形，紫氣一心兮，退藏不為福兮，不為殃，氣守照計都在歷名豹尾，若非有刑必有忌。計守照，金水文辭為智巧，金水在命，火孛通明必外遷。

The nature of the Sun is authoritative and stern, as the Sun symbolizes the king and the father. The "Moon孛" (Moon孛) has a nature that is licentious, cruel, and vicious, as it represents the image of a comet. The "Purple Qi" (Purple Qi) is always quiet and hidden, neither bringing good fortune nor misfortune, when it guards or illuminates the destiny. The "Ji Du" (Ji Du), also known as the "Leopard's Tail" in the calendar, when present in the destiny, either brings punishment or causes taboos, when it guards or illuminates the destiny. The planet Venus and Mercury govern eloquence and wisdom, when they are located in the destiny palace. The planet Mars and the "Moon孛" (Moon孛) are open and expressive, and they indicate a destiny of being far away from home.

火孛在命，辰金巳水為文章職學之科，各得本垣，酉月卯日定卿監、郎官之位。俱得其位，祖財困辱田宅，火被水來侵，水火會田宅，人事和同遷移，木得陽臨照。木日同遷移，月孛周天皆裸體，惟宜朝斗與朝天，孛居丑亥，神首躔度以橫天，所臨廟寅而廟午。羅在寅午。

The ancestors' financial difficulties and humiliation in property matters result from Mars being invaded by the water star—water and fire meet in the field of property. Smooth interpersonal relations and smooth migration result from the Jupiter being illuminated by the sun—Jupiter and the sun are together in the migration宫. The "Moon孛" moves around the sky continuously and is exposed without cover, suitable only for facing the Dipper mansion and the position facing heaven—notes say孛 resides in the丑 and亥. The "Rohini" god's movement spans the sky horizontally, and the places it governs are most favorable in theYin Palace andWu Palace—notes say Rohini is in the寅 and午.

金曜本性最無情，見木剛柔須相濟，金木宜同行，水星無心常好動，向晝楚晉鄭為強。水宜巳申辰宮，金乘火位，在西北則輕，戊土遇金，火入金鄉，見辰方無忌。辰宮見火，命居福德，尤怕相剋，受克者輕，身主逢宵，好居官祿。月明居宮。

The planet Venus is by nature most unfeeling; it becomes harmonious and balanced when it meets Jupiter—Venus and Jupiter are suitable to be together. The planet Mercury has no fixed focus and is often restless; it becomes strong when it faces the daylight and moves through the territories of Chu, Jin, and Zheng—notes say Mercury is favorable in the regions of Si, Shen, and Chen. When Venus is in the position of fire, its harm is less severe in the northwest—those with the element Wu earth also benefit from encountering Venus. When the planet Mars enters the region of metal, it is without fear as long as it is in the Chen region—notes say fire in the Chen region is not harmful. The main destiny falls in the fortune virtue palace, especially fearing being restricted; once restricted, the fortune becomes thin. The body ruler encountering night birth is best placed in the official luck palace—this is because the moon is bright and resides in that palace.

孛羅夾命分後先，兩相背行則可，日月同宮宜廟旺，倘失躔則福薄，羅前孛後以有傷，兩相交戰，先孛後羅而無害。兩相背去，論星先分晝夜。晝喜陽星，夜喜陰星。此說宜辨陰陽，太陽太陰，晝先論日與命宮，日為眾曜之尊，夜則言陰歸身度，月乃一身之主。

The stars "Moon孛" and "Rahu" enclosing the命宫 should be distinguished as to which is ahead and which is behind—only when the two stars move in opposite directions will there be no harm. The Sun and Moon should be in a palace where they are in their prime and flourishing positions; if they are not in their proper positions, their blessings will be thin. If Rahu is ahead and Moon孛 is behind, there will be damage—this is when the two stars face each other directly; if Moon孛 is ahead and Rahu is behind, there will be no harm—this is when the two stars move in opposite directions. When discussing stars, one must first distinguish between day and night—during the day, yang stars are favored, and at night, yin stars are favored. This saying is precisely about distinguishing yin and yang and distinguishing the Sun and Moon. For those born during the day, one should first consider the relationship between the Sun and the命宫—the Sun is the supreme among all stars; for those born at night, one should consider the position of the Moon in relation to the body degree—the Moon is the master of the body.

三元不失福壽必高，三元得地，九曜得時平生安榮。九事俱強，限星俱廟舉世昌榮，限元皆好，福德無星少年多難。福薄有災，命星滿用福非常，主星得所，身主俱強須福壽。身星尤高，福德不近貴星，福主既弱陷，官祿徒為無用。

If the three yuan are not out of place, fortune and longevity will certainly be high—each of the three yuan is in its proper position; if the nine luminaries are all suitable, one's life will be stable and prosperous—each of the nine matters is strong and vigorous. The stars in the life limit are all in their proper position, leading to prosperity throughout one's life—the limit ruler and the limit yuan are both good; if the fortune virtue palace is not guarded by any star, there will be many difficulties in youth—since fortune is thin, there will be disasters. If the main star of the destiny is used in numbers, the fortune is extraordinary—the main star is in its proper place; if the body ruler is also strong, there will be both fortune and longevity—the body ruler star is especially strong. If the fortune virtue palace is not close to a noble star—the fortune virtue ruler is already weak and fallen, then even if the official salary palace is good, it is of no use.

有官不久，有曜休宜作有從。既然有曜，亦看孰吉孰凶。德官俱陷福無因，福德官祿星俱陷，四正有星終作福，有吉星為福斷，三方無曜吉難評。無吉神則凶論，根基蔕固，須憑命曜居高，必須要命元起高，自少多迍，必是福星先陷。福星陷則多難。

One holds an official position but cannot maintain it for long. When stars are guarding, they should not be generally regarded as supportive influences. Since stars are present, one must determine whether they are auspicious or inauspicious. If both the Fortune Virtue宫 and the Official Position宫 are in decline, fortune cannot be generated. When both the main stars of the Fortune Virtue宫 and the Official Position宫 are in decline; if there are stars in the four cardinal positions, they can eventually bring fortune, but only if they are auspicious stars. If there are no auspicious stars in the Triple Harmony positions, it is difficult to judge whether it is auspicious or not. Without auspicious deities, it is considered inauspicious. A strong foundation requires that the stars in the native's birth宫 are in a high position. The native must have a high origin. If one has many hardships from a young age, it is certainly because the Fortune Star has already declined. If the Fortune Star declines, there will be many misfortunes.

吉有吉曜須作吉，美中之美，凶加凶曜必多凶。惡中之惡，孛羅入限，惟怕忌以加臨，似虎添翼，火土臨年，見劫刃而多忌。如蛇生足，坐貴全憑福祿壯，吉中有吉，命強無慮火金侵。我強勝彼，戴天不怕凶神，乾為天，履地何嫌惡曜。坤為地。

When auspicious stars are already present, adding more auspicious luminaries naturally leads to a favorable interpretation—this is beauty upon beauty; when malevolent stars are already there, adding more malevolent luminaries certainly increases misfortune—this is evil upon evil. The entry of "Yuebo" and "Luohou" into the current period is most feared when forbidden stars also come into play—this is like a tiger gaining wings. When the fire star and earth star appear in the current year, and if劫杀 and the Yang Blade are also present, there will be even more things to be cautious of—this is like a snake growing legs. Sitting in the position of a Nobleman relies entirely on the strength of the fortune star and the official star—this is the best of good fortune. If the original destiny is strong, there is no need to worry about the fire star and metal star invading—because I am strong and can overcome the other side. With the sky above, there is no fear of malevolent spirits—the Qian hexagram represents heaven. Standing on the earth, why worry about evil luminaries—the Kun hexagram represents earth.

太陰長缺，子地必圓，月宜在子，太陽常明，離邦必正。日喜午宮，計防風疾。計為沉滯之星，心有是恙。孛忌脫肛。孛乃淫穢之宿，必主此恙。兩曜夾火以逢刑，必主顛狂而赴水，日月夾火，孛計扶身而帶劫，當為自縊以懸樑。兩凶夾身。

The Moon is often incomplete, but when it reaches the position of Zi, it becomes full — the Moon is suitable in the Zi position. The Sun is usually bright, but when it reaches the position of Li fire, it becomes upright — the Sun is favorable in the Wu position. If a person's chart includes 'Ji Du', they should be cautious of wind and paralysis diseases — Ji Du is a stagnant star, and people often suffer from this illness. If there is 'Yue Bo' in the chart, they should avoid rectal prolapse — Yue Bo is a debauched star, and this illness is certain. When the Sun and Moon are joined by the Fire star and also meet a conflict, it indicates madness and drowning death — that is when the Sun and Moon are joined by Fire. If 'Yue Bo' and 'Ji Du' support the body position and also carry the劫杀 (calamity and killing stars), it indicates hanging oneself — that is when two evil stars join the body.

看星先尋刑劫，三刑劫殺，次論刃空，羊刃空亡，推限須忌天鋒，一名劍鋒，尤防的煞。一名破碎，一星釣用喜非常，一星得地，三主俱高必臺輔。三限皆強，月在參、日在婁，陰陽得體，羅箕計軫定封侯。羅計入廟，吉曜強宮福必緊，臨福地減力，凶星失陷必災危。居強宮尤庶幾。

When examining stars, one should first look for punishments and calamities — that is, the Three Punishments and the Calamity Star. Next, consider the Yang Blade and the Empty Wasteland — that is, the Yang Blade and the Empty Wasteland as two malevolent stars. In determining the limits of one's fate, one must avoid the Heavenly Sword — also known as the Sword Sharpness; especially one must guard against the 'Definite Malevolent Star' — also known as the Shattered Star. If a single star is lifted and used, it brings great joy — that is, one star occupying its proper position. If all three main stars are strong, one is certainly destined for high official rank — that is, all three limits are strong. The Taiyin Star in the Three Stars Mansion, the Taiyang Star in the Bond Mansion, with yin and yang each in their proper position; the Luo Hou Star in the Winnowing Basket Mansion, and the Ji Du Star in the Chariot Mansion, will certainly lead to being granted a title of nobility — that is, Luo and Ji in their temples. When auspicious stars are in strong mansions, good fortune is certainly powerful and effective — but if they are only in theFortune Virtue (Fortune Virtue) place, their power is reduced. When malevolent stars are in improper positions and fall into decline, there will certainly be disasters and difficulties — but if they are in strong mansions, it is still somewhat bearable.

晝生從日，喜居六陽之宮。自子至巳為六陽宮。夜生從月，利見六陰之地。自午至亥為六陰地。眾星亂殺，稟陽尊不敢施威。太陽正照，諸星罷戰鬥之鋒。三日逢刑，縱月光不能為福。太陰泊處前後四十五度內，謂之三日宮。

Those born during the day take the sun as their reference, preferring the sun to reside in the six yang palaces— the six palaces from Zi to Si are called the six yang palaces; those born at night take the moon as their reference, preferring the moon to be in the six yin places—the six palaces from Wu to Hai are called the six yin places. When the myriad stars are chaotic and produce killing energy, once they receive the honor of the sun, they dare not display their power or act violently—when the sun shines directly, the myriad stars withdraw their sharp edges. If the "three day palace" encounters punishment or conflict, even with moonlight it cannot bring blessings—the area within forty-five degrees before and after where the moon rests is called the three day palace.

若論陰陽，須看晝夜。晝生從日，夜生從月。背太陽於父有撼，夜日為背、背太陰於母有虧。晝月為背五星俱要比和，相順相生但以得時為貴。當權司令四餘不宜沖突，相剋相戰而喜獨行為佳。無相混雜伏逆無光。伏則不見，逆則退行。順行有氣，退則無力金星守命，好色而主清高。金之色美，人皆好之，故主義。

If discussing yin and yang, one must first consider day and night: those born in the day are governed by the sun, and those born at night are governed by the moon. To go against the sun means there is a deficiency in the father's side—being born at night yet governed by the sun is considered going against it. To go against the moon means there is a deficiency in the mother's side—being born in the day yet governed by the moon is considered going against it. The five stars should all be harmonious with each other—favoring mutual harmony and generation, and being in their proper time and position as the dominant force. The four additional stars should not conflict with each other—mutual control and conflict are bad, and it is better for them to act alone without mixing with the seven principal stars. Hidden andretrograde stars have no light—hidden means they are concealed and not visible, andretrograde means they move backward; stars moving in the correct direction have strength, while those moving backward lack strength. A person with the planet of metal governing their destiny is inclined to be lustful yet also has a sense of dignity—metal has a beautiful color, and everyone likes it, so it also signifies a strong sense of principle.

木德臨垣，剛毅而懷惻隱，木主仁好善水如守命，多學少成，水主智剛無常性火若當權，恣行酷毒。火性烈燥急沉謀熟慮，為緣土入命宮。土主信，主人沉重敦厚。巧筭多機，蓋是計居垣位。主謀變詐巧獨孛則為人慳吝，小人之狀單羅則賦性貪婪，性凶貪謀紫氣照臨必主伶利。尚清高好道，主九流三教。

The person with Jupiter in their native palace is strong-willed and resolute yet compassionate in heart—Jupiter represents benevolence and a love for good deeds. If the planet of Water is in the命宫, they learn much but achieve little—Water signifies wisdom, but it is also rigid and changeable in nature. If the planet of Fire is in authority, the person becomes reckless, cruel, and vicious—Fire is fierce and impetuous. Deep thinking and careful planning are due to Saturn in the命宫—Saturn represents reliability and makes a person steady and sincere. Being skilled in calculation and full of cunning strategies is because the planet of Ji Du is in its position—Ji Du governs schemes and deceitful tricks. A single presence of Yue Bo makes a person stingy—that is the nature of a petty person. A single presence of Luo Hui makes a person greedy—in nature, they are fierce and greedy for acquisition. When Zi Qi shines upon someone, it indicates intelligence and sharpness—favoring purity and loving esoteric knowledge, this signifies people from various schools of thought and religions.

雖然星辰如此，又看月令若何。女命限到木躔，防夫害子，木氣乃孤克之宿男命限到月躔，招妻納妾。月金是陰人之曜水孛如守田財，難招祖業；水孛漂流無定火羅若臨父母，幼失慈親。火羅炎威酷毒命主逢陽終富貴，命主朝君安身傍母必尊榮。身星傍母九宮遇孛，終身漂泊無拘；遷移逢孛十地逢羅，年少誇豪逞訟。官祿遇羅。

The nature of the stars is as such, but it also depends on the time of the month. For a woman's destiny, if her life path reaches the area where Jupiter is located, she should beware of her husband suffering harm and her children being injured—Jupiter and Purple Qi are originally solitary and harmful stars. For a man's destiny, if his life path reaches the area where the Moon is located, he can marry several wives— the Moon and Venus are originally stars that govern women. If Mercury and Moon孛 are guarding the fields and wealth houses, it will be difficult to inherit ancestral property—Mercury and Moon孛 are by nature drifting and unsettled. If Mars and Rahu are in the parents' house, he will lose his parents at a young age—Mars and Rahu are fierce, cruel, and merciless. If the destiny is met by the Sun, he will ultimately achieve wealth and honor—this is because the destiny star faces the king. If the body star is accompanied by the Moon, he will certainly attain honor and prestige—this is because the body star is beside the mother. If the ninth house meets Moon孛, he will live a life of constant wandering without constraints—migration house meets孛. If the tenth house meets Rahu, he will be rebellious and involved in lawsuits at a young age—officials' house meets Rahu.

羅計若居子午，縱克而有情；羅午計子木土偏愛陽宮，雖戰而無損。土木在寅彗星晝見，女人必以為殃；孛忌晝見天乙夜行，男命見之反克。氣怕夜犯年月日時四柱值殺，立見刑徒；四柱忌值殺神宮魁爵祿四柱高強，自然榮顯。四吉宜占高強金月互垣，必有立成之分；金星助月陰陽失位，沒齒貧困之人。日月混淪。

The celestial bodies 「Luohou」 and 「Jidu」 if placed in the Zi and Wu mansions, even though they mutually control each other, still show some affection—because 「Luohou」 is in Wu and 「Jidu」 is in Zi. The 「Jupiter」 and 「Saturn」 prefer the Yang mansions; although they fight, there is no harm—because both 「Jupiter」 and 「Saturn」 are in the寅 mansion. A comet appearing in the daytime is considered a calamity by women—because 「Yuebo」 is disliked when visible in the daytime. The 「Tianyi」 moves at night; if a man sees it, he is harmed—because 「Ziqi」 is afraid of being attacked at night. If the year, month, day, and hour pillars contain killing spirits, there will be immediate punishment and forced labor—because the four pillars most dislike having killing spirits. If the palace,魁,爵, and禄 pillars are strong, one naturally attains honor and prominence—these four auspicious factors should occupy strong positions. When the 「Venus」 and 「Too Yin」 exchange their native mansions, there will certainly be a significant achievement—because the 「Venus」 assists the moon. If the Yin and Yang celestial bodies lose their native positions, one will be poor for life—because the sun and moon are mixed and unclear.

主星居於母地，主傍貴而成家；命主居生地母星飛入命垣，多因妻而致富。母恩守命垣木居獅子，居官不能享官；木不南奔午宮也計入三陽，有祿不沾寸祿。計在寅宮三陽也水喜順而不喜逆，水逆氾濫土愛暖而不愛寒。土寒凍結以元、合、食論人之享用。元即天元祿也，合即甲與巳合，取巳月為合星，食即甲取丙木為食星。以官魁爵定人之前程。官即甲氣也，魁即日月也，爵即子土也。

最喜者，四角之有星，三合對照有曜所忌者，三方之無曜。三合對照無星馬臨官祿，出祖成家；有四方之志祿在妻宮，因妻致富。有妻財之宜男人命居子午，必強狠而專權。子為端門，午為帝座，居高勢。女人命立巽干，必淫冶而誇色。巳為雙女，亥為雙魚馬地，好淫。

The most favorable position is when there are stars in the four corners, meaning both triple harmony and opposition have stars; the most disliked situation is when there are no stars in the triple harmony position, meaning neither the triple harmony nor the opposition has any stars. If theThe Post-horse is in the official position, it indicates the ability to leave the family's legacy and establish one's own household, showing a determination to seek success elsewhere. If the禄 star is in the wife's position, it indicates wealth gained through the wife, showing a harmonious relationship between husband and wife. For a man, if his destiny palace is in the Zi or Wu position, he will definitely be strong, fierce, and domineering, because the Zi palace is the gate of the end and the Wu palace is the throne of the emperor, both being high positions. For a woman, if her destiny palace is in the Xun or Qian position, she will definitely be lustful and show off her beauty, because the Si palace is the double female and the Hai palace is the double fish, and also theThe Post-horse position, so she tends to be promiscuous.

坐貴不宜沖貴，只宜坐貴，不宜沖貴。見合不宜見刑。惟宜合吉，不宜見刑。立身合論、馬元失管，則徒然奔走；馬落空亡聚財則觀財庫無守，則必致敗亡。財逢破耗不須輕用閒奴。兄弟主奴僕，主不宜入財帛及財，主亦不宜入閒極奴宮。此等須當我用，惟喜身命主坐財庫宮。

Sitting in the position of a nobleman is not suitable for further offending the nobleman — one should only sit in the nobleman's position, not clash with the nobleman; when seeing a harmonious aspect, one should not see a harmful aspect — one should only harmonize with auspicious stars, not encounter harm. In terms of establishing one's position, if the post-horse is not controlled, it is just a futile running — that is the post-horse falling into kongwang; gathering wealth should look at the treasure store, but if the treasure store is unguarded, it will certainly fail — that is the wealth star encountering destruction. One should not easily use idle sectors and servant stars — the ruler of the brother sector and the ruler of the servant sector should not enter the treasure store sector, and the ruler of the treasure store sector should not enter the idle or servant sectors. These should all be used for my benefit, and the most favored is when the body ruler and life ruler are in the treasure store sector.

殺不宜真，真難磨滅。且如土克水，土掌的刃、雄廉為真難。祿不宜破，破則貧窮。祿宮、祿元被惡殺侵佔。孤而加寡；妻子難為，孤寡雙拱空以加亡，利名難遂。陽宮空、陰宮亡，陰宮空、陽宮亡。刑不宜戰，戰則必刑。如逢刑地，不宜有戰克之星。三刑帶戰，必然刑害。刑戰兩全，其禍必矣。

It is not advisable forInauspicious Sha to become a true killer, for once it becomes a true killer, it is difficult to eliminate. For example, if earth overcomes water, and the earth star is also in charge of the killer, the yang blade, the heavenly hero, and the lianzheng evil spirits, this becomes a true difficult star. The禄 should not be broken, for once it is broken, poverty follows — this is when the禄宫 and禄元 are occupied by evil killers. IfGuchen is combined withGuasu, the wife and children will be hard to keep — the stars孤 and寡 are both shining together. IfKongwang is combined withWangshen, fame and fortune will be hard to achieve — the yang palace is empty while the yin palace is lost, or the yin palace is empty while the yang palace is lost. Punishments should not be combined with conflicts, for once they are combined, punishment will surely come — when encountering the three punishments, it is not advisable to have conflict stars; if the three punishments are combined with conflicts, injury will certainly result; if both punishment and conflict are present, misfortune is inevitable.

合不宜沖，沖則必破。合照星吉，不宜凶神沖破。合還沖破，作事無成，論刑必論殺，刑殺重而難當；刑殺雙逢必凶，論官必論魁，官魁顯而清貴。官魁兩強必榮，既參官星本宿，當以太陽相參；天盤以日為官星，雖論刑煞星辰，合以天殺互論。地煞兼天星同推，兩殺夾垣須破相，雙殺拱夾、三刑臨己必傷殘。三刑剋命，身命最喜入官，坐僕、坐閒何所用。

When a triple harmony is formed, it is not suitable to meet a conflicting force again; once there is a conflict, it will definitely cause destruction. The stars that form a triple harmony are originally auspicious, and it is not good for malevolent forces to clash with them. If they have already formed a triple harmony but are then broken by a conflict, doing things will result in nothing. When discussing punishments, it must also consider killing forces together; when punishments and killing forces overlap, it becomes hard to bear. When punishments and killing forces both appear, it will certainly be凶. When discussing officials, it must also consider the魁 together; when officials and魁 are both prominent, it will be clear and noble. Since we have already referred to the original host of the official star, we should also consider the sun together. The heaven plate uses the sun as the official star; even when discussing punishments and malevolent stars, they should be considered together with heavenly killing forces. The two killing stars enclosing the palace will certainly cause a broken appearance; that is called double killing forces enclosing. When the three punishments are on oneself, it will certainly lead to injury; that is called three punishments harming the destiny. The body palace and the life palace are most favorable when they enter the official and fortune palace; sitting in the servant palace or idle palace is of no use.

官祿宮喜身命主入，但閒極、奴僕忌身命主坐。日月不宜夾殺、夾祿、夾貴以為榮。凡殺星不宜日月夾拱也，惟有祿勳貴人喜日月拱夾。子午為聖人端座之宮，諸殺莫入；惡殺不能侵犯，辰戌為小人惡弱之地，天乙莫臨。貴人不臨之位，暗金可畏，若臨命夭折無疑。春亢、夏鬼、秋婁、冬牛謂之暗金，不宜坐命於此。

The official fortune palace and the joyful body palace are favorable when the body and life ruler are located there, while the idle palace and the servant palace should avoid having the body and life ruler situated there. The sun and moon should not be in conjunction with killing stars; only when they are in conjunction with fortune and nobleman stars does honor and distinction result. All killing stars should not be in conjunction with the sun and moon, but fortune and nobleman stars prefer to be in conjunction with the sun and moon. The Zi and Wu palaces are the palaces where sages sit; all killing stars should not enter these palaces. The Chen and Xu palaces are places where petty people and evil forces are weak; the nobleman Tianyi does not descend here, which is the position where nobleman does not appear. "Dark metal" is most terrifying; if it is in the命宫, it will definitely result in an early death. The Kangle mansion in spring, the Ghost mansion in summer, the Bond mansion in autumn, and the Ox mansion in winter are called dark metal, and it is not suitable to place the命宫 in these degrees.

殺火無情，若居殺，凶惡難免。火星掌殺不宜居疾厄之地。日月若居華，蓋僧道流行。辰戌丑未犯華，蓋日月臨之。祿馬如陷空亡，巫醫術士。寅申巳亥是祿馬，空亡遇之。桃花帶合，男女皆為無禮之淫；咸池星合命照命，隔角逢孤，縱有嗣續皆過房之子。丑寅巳午未申亥子謂之隔角，更帶孤辰。

The fiery Mars in the killing position is the most ruthless; if it also occupies the killing position, misfortune is inevitable. Mars in command of killing should not fall in the sector of illness and injury. If the sun and moon fall upon the Huagai star, the person is likely to become a monk or a Taoist. If the birth chart falls in the years of Chen, Xu, Chou, or Wei and the sun and moon also fall upon those positions, this is the case. If the禄 star and the post-horse fall into the Kongwang position, they will only become witches, doctors, or craftsmen. The years of Yin, Shen, Si, and Hai are the positions of禄 and post-horse; once they meet the Kongwang position, this is the result. If the Taohua star is accompanied by conjunctions and harmonies, both men and women will commit indecent acts. When the Xianchi star is in conjunction or in aspect with the命宫, this is the case. If the Guchen star is met with the隔角 position, even if there are descendants, they will be adopted sons. The combinations of Chou and Yin, Si and Wu, Wei and Shen, Hai and Zi are called隔角; if these are combined with Guchen, this is the case.

坐祿向馬，乃利名顯達之人。命坐祿勳、對照、驛馬。對祿坐貴，亦文章騰達之士。祿勳、對照、命坐貴人。木羅會舍，喜入寅宮，木入垣羅入廟，水計相刑，怕居巳位。巳乃三刑之地，劫頭乃非活路，劫殺怕頭，刃末最是凶關。陽刃忌尾，眾凶作黨有不已之戰爭。

Sitting in the position of honor and facing the post-horse indicates a person who achieves fame and fortune; the native's palace is occupied by the honor and merit, while the post-horse is opposite. If the opposite palace is the position of honor and the native's palace is occupied by the nobleman, it signifies a person who achieves success in literature; the honor and merit is in the opposite palace, while the native's palace is occupied by the nobleman. When Jupiter and Rahu are in the same palace, they prefer to be in the寅 palace; Jupiter is in its proper place and Rahu is in its favored position. When the water star and Ji Du are in mutual conflict, they fear being in the巳 position;巳 is the place of the three punishments. The beginning of the劫杀 is not a favorable position; the劫杀 is most feared at the head. The end of the Yang Blade is the most dangerous; the Yang Blade is most feared at the tail. When various malevolent stars form alliances, there will be continuous conflicts.

如孛羅交戰，水計相刑，不傷限元無妨。二母爭權，乃太過於姑息，二恩不為恩，孤日臨於命限，勤苦勞心。孤君無輔，一月單行官祿，精寧可愛。月要單行，婦人專以性宮為重，性宮者財帛宮也，男人當以八殺為權。八殺者疾厄宮也，面目傷殘，刑囚不宜傷相貌。相貌主被刑囚所傷，心神漂泊，水孛最忌入遷移、對照，逢羅婚姻反掌。妻宮忌羅，五宮逢孛、男女虛花。子宮怕孛。

For example, if 「Yuebo」 and 「Luohou」 clash, and the water star conflicts with 「Jidu」, it is acceptable as long as the limit star is not harmed. When two mother stars contend for power, they tend to be lenient, and thus two benevolent stars do not truly count as benevolent. A single sun star in the destiny limit indicates a life of diligence and worry—this is a lonely ruler without support. A single moon star alone in the official position宫 indicates a calm and pleasant spirit—moon is suitable to be alone. For women, the 「sex宫」 is most important—the sex宫 is the wealth宫; for men, the 「ba sha」 is the key—the ba sha is the illness宫. Physical injuries and deformities result from the criminal and imprisoned stars harming the appearance宫—the appearance is harmed by criminal and imprisoned stars. A wandering mind and unstable spirit result from the water star and 「Yuebo」 entering the migration宫 or forming a connection, which is the most undesirable. Encountering 「Luohou」 causes marriage to be unstable and changeable—marriage宫 is most feared by Luohou. The fifth宫 encountering 「Yuebo」 leads to children being empty and not substantial—children宫 is most feared by Yuebo.

二主臨財，財必豐厚。或身命二主或官福二星。兩強戰克，田宅動搖。如孛計交戰，金羅相剋。命卑閒健，兄弟有爭鬥之風；命主弱閒極主強，主弱奴強，奴婢有侵凌之患。命主弱奴星旺，福星喜臨垣，福星守福，祿主宜鎮位。官曜居官，以木氣金水為君子。文人才土為喜木、氣、金、水。以火羅計孛為小人。武將功臣，但重火羅計孛。十二煞神仔細推詳，年支十二宮殺神，三百六十吉凶可考。

Two main stars in the Wealth and Fortune Palace indicate abundant wealth—either the body star and life star, or the official star and fortune virtue star. When two strong stars mutually control each other, the field of property becomes unstable—such as the conflict between the Moon孛 and the Counterspell计都, or the mutual control between the Jupiter and the Rahu罗睺. If the native's main star is weak while the idle palace is strong, there will be disputes among brothers—when the main star is weak and the idle palace is strong; if the main star is weak while the servant star is strong, servants may oppress the master—when the main star is weak and the servant star is strong. The fortune virtue star prefers to be in its own palace—when the fortune virtue star guards the fortune virtue palace; the official star should be stationed in its own position—the official star should be in the official position. The Jupiter, Purple Qi, Jupiter, and Water Star are considered gentlemen—these are the stars favored by literati and scholars; the Fire Star, Rahu, Counterspell, and Moon孛 are considered petty people—these are the stars valued by generals and meritorious officials. The twelve positions of the evil spirits should be carefully examined—these are the killing spirits placed according to the year branch in the twelve palaces, and the fortune and misfortune of the entire 360 degrees of the heavens can be studied through them.

周天三百六十五度，陰陽守巽，至老耳目聰明；日月居巳，火孛臨坤，未免腰背屈曲。火孛臨申，羅居五位，眼必無光；午為太陽之位，水入寅宮，咽喉壅塞。寅乃喉舌之府，鼻頭帶赤，火孛而守申宮；巳申屬兩肩，臉面委黃，土計而居辰位。辰酉屬胸膈，計臨申位，面上有虧；面部同看，羅入命宮，鬍鬚可驗；未必然也。

The heavens total 365 degrees, each corresponding to a part of the human body. The sun and moon reside in the Xun trigram position, leading to clear hearing and sight in old age—note says the sun and moon are in the Si position. The fire star and the moon孛 are in the Kun trigram position, causing a bent back—note says fire and孛 are in the Shen position. The Rahu is in the fifth position, resulting in lack of eye shine—the Wu position is the sun's position. The water star enters the Yin trigram position, causing throat obstruction—the Yin position is the throat and speech area. The nose turns red due to the fire star and moon孛 in the Shen trigram position—Si and Shen belong to the shoulders. The face turns yellow due to the earth star and the Ji Du in the Chen trigram position—Chen and You belong to the chest area. Ji Du in the Shen trigram position causes facial defects—facial features should be considered together. Rahu entering the destiny trigram causes the beard to show signs—note also says this is not always the case.

孛羅到酉，心氣往來；酉為心胸，孛羅沖卯，風疾難禁。卯為肚腹，孛羅居於亥子，臀犯瘡疽；亥子為下部，金火戰於辰酉，肺心咳嗽。火主心金主肺，羅逆行而不順，多犯血光；頻見瘡疾，火若退而遲留，難堪酒痢。必患酒痢，更若孛星有黨，血上加膿；或主白濁遺精，那堪土宿來臨，痔而帶疾。或主痔漏通腸，木到巽而見殺，左手拘攣；氣入寅而逢刑，腳腿虛腫。寅作木論，要觀疾病，先論陷星，吉凶瞭然，易如反掌。

When the celestial bodies 「月孛」 and 「罗睺」 reach theYou Palace, the heart energy becomes restless and unsettled — theYou Palace governs the chest; when 「孛」 and 「罗」 conflict with theMao Palace, wind diseases are hard to prevent — theMao Palace governs the abdomen. If 「孛」 and 「罗」 fall in the亥 or Zi Palace, sores may develop on the hips — the亥 and 子 are associated with the lower part of the body. When the planet of gold and fire clash in the辰 and You Palace, coughing from the lungs and heart occurs — fire governs the heart and gold governs the lungs. 「罗睺」 movesretrograde, which is against the natural order, often leading to blood-related injuries — common sores and illnesses; when the planet of fire retreats and lingers, one cannot endure the suffering of alcohol-induced diarrhea — it is certain to suffer from alcohol-induced diarrhea. If 「月孛」 has companions, there will be pus in the blood — possibly leading to white discharge and seminal leakage; if the earth planet arrives, it brings on hemorrhoids — possibly leading to anal fistulas. When the planet of wood reaches the position of 巽 and encounters a killing star, the left hand becomes stiff and cannot be extended; when 「紫气」 enters theYin Palace and meets a刑, the legs and feet become swollen and weak — the寅 is considered as wood. To examine diseases, first consider the fallen stars; then the fortune and misfortune become clear, as easy to understand as turning over one's palm.
