Discussing the fate of women's destiny.
Charting guides: BaZi Chart Calculator
Those whose destiny is occupied by the "Heavenly Dog" are childless. For example, someone born in the year of Guiyou, in the fifth lunar month at the hour of Wei, with their natal palace falling in "Jue Mu Jiao": if born on a Dingyou day, the Jupiter and the Moon are in the "Shi Fire Zhu" palace, then they will have children but no official position; if born on a Wuxu day, the Moon moves to the "Bi Water Yu" palace, then they will have an official position but no children. I speculate the reason: the palace of the body faces the zenith, so the Moon becomes the "Heavenly Dog," and the Water Star enhances its brilliance, thus resulting in an official position but no children; Jupiter here acts as the "Jiesha," and in the fifth lunar month, the Wood energy is at its peak, which can block the moonlight, making the Heavenly Dog and the official star both obscured, so the official position cannot be achieved and the Heavenly Dog cannot exert its malevolence, thus resulting in no official position but having children. Another example: if the "Heavenly Dog" is present in the destiny, and there are also the Fire Star and the Moon Bo shining with malevolent light on the destiny, they will certainly be childless; if they can be saved by auspicious stars, they can still have children, and one should not rigidly adhere to a single interpretation. If the "Heavenly Dog" falls in the palace of male and female, it indicates that children are harmed and will result in no descendants.
The "Tai Sui" (Celestial Sovereign) when passing through a position where an evil star is located fills it up, or if it exactly falls on the native's命宫 (life palace) or the current year's limit, it brings calamity. Those who offend the Tai Sui may even die. The Tai Sui is the master of all harmful stars, combining with variousInauspicious Sha (evil spirits), how could there be no disaster? If the命宫 (life palace) is located at the boundary between two mansions where the degree is cut off, it indicates a short life. Even if not short-lived, it leads to poverty, because the position is unstable. The boundaries between the 28 mansions have degrees that increase and decrease, and must be carefully examined to determine. For example, someone born on the 14th day of the ninth month in the Yimao (乙卯) year during the戌亥 (dog and pig) hours seems to be sitting on the 15th degree of the "Wei Tu Zi" (Stomach Mansion) earth bird. However, by the time of戌亥 hours, the degree of the Wei mansion has already been exhausted, and it has moved into the first degree of the "Mao Ri Ji" (昴日鸡) mansion. This position is most dangerous when Mars and Luo Hui (a malefic planet) form the "Jian Feng" (sword tip) evil star. If the Sun is also sitting on a harmful star or if it offends Mars and Luo Hui, this person will suffer the loss of the father at thirteen and the mother at fourteen. This is exactly due to the intersection of limits and the cutoff of degrees.
People born in the same hour may have very different lifespans. I observe that an hour consists of eight parts, and within each part there are differences in accuracy: strong winds, heavy rain, cloudy, sunny, dark, and bright conditions are all part of the same hour's weather, yet within the hour there are changes. The same hour can have two or three different weather conditions. Moreover, the sun and moon continuously move, crossing over each other, so brightness, darkness, new moons, and full moons vary. Therefore, even though people are born in the same hour, there are differences in the number of parts. The heavens and human affairs correspond, but there are inevitable discrepancies. Those with similar fates are born in nearby moments, while those with great differences are because one is born at the beginning of the hour and the other at the end, right at the boundary. Furthermore, considering the stars: for example, if Venus is at nine degrees of 'Bi Yue Wu' and moves to five degrees of 'Wei Huo Hu', that year there will be a harmful influence. If the命宫 (destiny palace) is placed at 'Kui Mu Lang', and metal comes to overcome wood, that year will be unsettled. If the命宫 is placed at 'Bi Shui Yu', and metal nourishes water, it is the star that generates me, which is beneficial.
When a child is born during an eclipse of the sun or moon, it is likely to die young or be born blind. If a child is born during a time when the heavens are furious, thunder and lightning are intense, and strong winds are raging, it is also very unfavorable, and the person will face great misfortune in old age. If the Taiyin star serves as both the body star and the destiny star, and if it is placed on the positions of 'Guchen', 'Jiesha', 'Lianzhen', or 'Yang Blade', even with the support of strong and prosperous energies, it still indicates a short life. If the Yang Blade is at the head and the Jiesha is at the tail, and the destiny is located at the boundary between two constellations, it also indicates a short life. If a person is born at night and the Earth star governs their destiny, or if born during the day and the Fire star governs their destiny, this is called 'Wucan stars', which either leads to poverty or a short life. If the ruler of the destiny degree or the ruler of the body degree serves as the 'Tianyuan', and if it governs or illuminates the destiny palace or is in a favorable position, it indicates talent in literature and scholarship, and success in the imperial examinations. If the destiny palace is located in the four metal constellations: Kangleong, Niujin Niu, Loujinkou, and Guijin Yang, and if the Metal star and the Water star mutually govern and illuminate each other, the Metal star will consume its own strength by generating the Water star, thus being unable to overcome the Wood star. The Wood star here is the wealth star, so when moving to the four Wood constellations, it becomes unfavorable.
All the stars are moving away andretrograde, but among them there are some that first hide and then become prominent. For example, a person born at the子 hour in the fourth month of the Jihai year, with their命宫 located at the twelfth degree of「虚日鼠」, has计都 and罗睺 occupying the 辰 and戌 palaces, cutting off the star chart. Only 紫气 is in Dipper mansion, and all other stars are moving towards the western sinking place. 月孛 follows 太阴, and both are harmed by the wood energy of 胃土雉. Their 行限 also reaches 大梁, which seems to have no useful aspects. However, this person passed the imperial examination at twenty-five and became an official of the Imperial Inspection Department, served as a deputy provincial governor at thirty-three, and reached the rank of Minister and Grand Secretary by forty-three or forty-four. This is because the 太阴 in the 身宫 and 命宫 acts as「天元」, and is together with 月孛 in the prosperous position of Stomach mansion. 火星 and 金星 also serve as the leading official stars, leading the way one before the other. This is indeed a great configuration. Later, when their 行限 reaches the last degree of 氐土貉, they died at fifty-seven. 大梁 refers to the western酉 palace.
There is a passage that says: the ruling star of the official fortune palace most fears encountering the malevolent evil star "Tian Xiong." However, for a person born in the year of Wuchen during the first lunar month at the You hour, their destiny palace falls at the seventh degree of "Zhang Yue Lu," with the earth star governing and the moon star being harmed by "Nv Tu Fu." The metal star and the sun star are together in "Xu Ri Shu." Clearly, this person has encountered Tian Xiong, yet the outcome was different. During the limit of the You palace, he reached the rank of third class official. When entering the limit of "Kui Mu Lang," he was promoted to second class. At the age of sixty-five, he was appointed as the Minister of War, and at seventy, he retired from office. Originally, his birth star was wood, and wood can overcome earth, so he was not afraid of the malevolent evil star formed by the earth star.
The text says: When the命宫 is located on the 「fourth month」 star, it is only afraid of the earth star and Ji Du. However, someone born on the Xinmao year, on the fifteenth day of the tenth month at the戌 hour, has his命宫 located at the thirteen degrees of 「Bi Yue Wu」. The earth star, Ji Du, and Tai Yin are all in 「Mao Ri Ji」. Yet he passed the imperial examination at the age of twenty-six and reached the rank of second or third class at forty-six. This is because the water star and the sun are together in the卯 palace, forming the 「Yuan Wu Yin Jia」 pattern. Moreover, since he was born at night, the body palace located in 「Mao Ri Ji」 should be considered the main star, so he is not harmed by the earth star and Ji Du.
But the planet Saturn is here acting as the "Eight Killers," and is moving retrograde in the migration宫, yet it has a strong connection with the Moon. Therefore, this person's mother and son were poor and wandering in their early years, and were even captured by villains. Later they became successful and regained their original surname, living together with their mother. It is precisely because Saturn and Ji Du invade the Moon that the mother and son are separated. Fortunately, Saturn and Ji Du in theYou Palace still have mutual generation. The birth time and day ruler are in season, the命宫 is in卯, which is the gate where the sun rises, and there is also the planet Mercury guarding the sunlight. How can this not be considered a noble destiny?
The Children's House sees the Taiyin star, along with the Venus and Mercury stars, indicating the birth of a daughter. If the LuoHou and JiDu stars fall in the fifth house, which is the Children's House, it suggests the daughter will be stubborn and may suffer from conflicts and injuries. If the Children's House encounters the Jupiter, Earth, or Sun stars, it indicates the birth of a son; however, for those born at night, the child may have difficulty growing up. When LuoHou approaches the Sun, it usually indicates misfortune for the father, but there is also a case called "First Star Holds the Sun," which brings long life. This is especially auspicious for those born at night, as the Sun has no light at night, and it is favorable for LuoHou and Mars to add its brightness.
The text says: "The 'Eight Killings' palace and the 'Idleness' palace, if the body palace and the destiny palace fall into them, they should not be used. Yang Jian was born in the Jiachen year, third month,戌 hour. His destiny palace is seated on 'Kang Jinlong'. The earth star nourishes the Kang mansion and the fire star guards and illuminates it. The heavenly origin, earthly origin, and human origin are all present, so he has considerable learning. However, at the age of forty-four, he escapes the 'Ghost Jin Yang' limit, but dies on the way and has no descendants, achieving nothing in all things. Moreover, in his destiny, gold transforms into the凶煞 'Fei Lian' and 'Jian Feng', and those born at night who meet the earth star become even more dangerous. There is also someone born in the Jiachen year, seventh month,巳 hour, with the same destiny palace seated on 'Kang Jinlong'. The earth star nourishes the Kang mansion and the wood star is in position, while the metal star in the Jiao mansion bows to the sun, yet he is a poor person.所谓 'Eight Killings' refers to the illness palace, and 'Idleness' refers to the brother palace.
People whose body palace is located in a place of death, decay, failure, or loss will break their family fortunes when they reach the period of decline. If during their life limit they encounter a failing star, or meet the "Heavenly Loss" or "Earthly Loss" stars, or the "Great Loss" in the opposite palace, it indicates financial loss. If the native's命宫 is located in a killing star palace, it is not favorable to have another killing star to assist it, as this may lead to early death. For example, those born in the Jiachen year with their destiny set on the "Kang Jinlong" mansion, with the metal star accompanied by the "Jianfeng" or "Feilian" stars, should avoid the earth star pressing upon the Kang mansion, because the earth here becomes the "Tianxiong" and "De Sha" which are killing stars. If the body palace is favorable, it may lead to high status, but if the Luo Hou and Yuebo stars invade the body palace, it indicates low status. When they reach the "Gui Jinyang" killing star period at the age of forty-five, they will die. Those born in the Guiwei year in May or June with their destiny placed on the "Nv Tu Fu" mansion are like this. If the native's destiny carries multipleInauspicious Sha stars such as Jiesha, Yang Blade, Lianzhen, De Sha, Haoshen, and Guanfu, and these are layered and overlapping, and if they encounter stars that can assist theseInauspicious Sha, the凶势 becomes even worse. When they reach the killing star period, it indicates early death.
Those born in the year of Guiwei have their Yang Blade located at the planet of Earth. If they are born in the fifth or sixth lunar month, they also encounter the "Lian Zhen" evil star. If their命宫 is located on the "four waters" mansion and the planet of Metal comes to guard and illuminate with Growth, Nobleman, and the Lu Spirit, or if Metal generates Water, it is very auspicious, and as they grow older, their body becomes healthier. However, for those born in the year of Guiyou, if the planet of Metal comes to guard and illuminate with "Jian Feng" and "Lian Zhen," even though Metal generates Water and brings honor, it still indicates a short life. If both the body and命宫 gather and receive the energy of the Big Dipper's handle, and the卦气 meets the conditions of growth and strength, it is originally auspicious. But if the fundamental aspect has already been damaged, fame and fortune become empty, and nothing can be achieved. The fundamental aspect refers to the body ruler and命 ruler. If they have already been harmed, even if other areas are good, it is of no benefit. The planet of Water here acts as "Guchen Jiesha," and Ji Du acts as "Tian Xiong Yang Ren." These two stars sandwich the day ruler, indicating harm to the father in the womb. If the Yang Ren, Tian Xiong stars, and Tai Yin are in the same degree, it indicates harm to the mother.
When discussing the stars and planets of the current year, for example, if the命宫 is located in「井木犴」, the Jupiter enters「亢金龙」and「娄金狗」, which are metal constellations, and thus the Jupiter is weakened. Meanwhile, the Mars, accompanied by malevolent stars, enters the命宫, so one should be cautious and save money during that year. When the Saturn reaches「牛金牛」, although it is in its own constellation, it loses its strength. When the Jupiter reaches「斗木獬」, although it is in its favorable position, it moves backward, which is a case of both gain and loss. Another example is when the命宫 is in the degrees of角,斗,井,奎, which are all wood constellations, and the heavenly stem of the birth year is 甲 or 乙, and theNayin sound element also belongs to wood, then it is purely based on wood. In spring, the wood energy is very strong, and it is especially beneficial for those born in the daytime. Other cases can be deduced in the same way. This is when the constellation, degree, heavenly stem,Nayin sound element, and season all agree, and the interpretation is based on the same element. Since none of them are weakened, it indicates a lifetime of safety and peace.
When LuoHou and Jidu reach the position of the fourth day, and the Sun enters a position of malevolent spirits and evil stars, or falls into a yin palace, it indicates the father's early death and an untimely end. If LuoHou and Jidu invade the position of the fourth month, and the Moon enters a position of evil stars, or falls into a yang palace, it indicates the mother's death by violence. Each star has its own taboos: LuoHou is the first star, and it is most feared when it is in the first position, and it is disliked when accompanied by the Yang Blade. Yuebo is the last star, and it is most feared when it is in the last position, and it is disliked when accompanied by floating and sinking evil stars. Jiesha, Huoshen, DeSha, and ZiQi are most feared when they are in opposition, and they are disliked when they control FeiLian. Jidu is fierce and angry, and it is most disliked when it transforms into the Yang Blade or TianXiong. The other stars can be judged in a similar manner.
The Sun represents the father and the Moon represents the mother; they must be bright and luminous to indicate that the parents are wealthy. They should not fall into the凶 positions such as the Yang Blade, Tian Xiong, or Di Ci, nor should they be obscured or eroded by Luo Hui, Ji Du, Zi Qi, or Yue Bo. Otherwise, it indicates harm or disability to the parents. Moreover, the degrees of the four days and the four months are also considered the degrees of the parents. If good stars guard these positions, one can receive the support of the parents; if evil stars are present, it leads to harm to the parents and possible eye or vision problems. If the planet of metal meets the planet of fire, it harms the wife; if the planet of fire meets the planet of water, it harms the children. When the Sun is in the degree of the moon and occupies the moon's position, and the Moon is in the degree of the sun and occupies the sun's position, it is called "yin error and yang difference," which indicates harm to the parents. The wife and children may also be difficult to preserve. Generally, if the Moon is strong, it harms the father; if the Sun is strong, it harms the mother; the rest can be inferred similarly.
Those whose natal palace and life palace fall in a yin degree are mostly not the eldest son, but born as the second or last child. Another school of thought holds that for those born during the day, the degree of the sun's position is used, while for those born at night, the degree of the moon's position is used. A yin degree refers to the even degrees, namely the second, fourth, sixth, eighth, and tenth; a yang degree refers to the odd degrees, namely the first, third, fifth, seventh, and ninth. If the palace ruler, body ruler, and degree ruler all fall in a yang degree, it indicates a life of wealth and prosperity, known as the 'Triple Yang Prosperity' pattern. For male destiny, it is most auspicious if all are purely yang; for female destiny, it is most auspicious if all are purely yin.
The Yang Blade star should not assist the Sun or the Moon, as this will lead to the parents suffering from tuberculosis and dying from respiratory diseases; if the person's ruler and body ruler are exactly in the degree of 'four days' or 'four months', it will certainly result in an early death. Even if they do not die young, they should be considered as people who are sickly or dull-witted. For example, those born in the year of Jia use the Mars star and Rahu as their Yang Blade, and those born in the year of Yi use the Venus star as their Yang Blade. These Blade stars should not assist the Sun and Moon. In addition, Rahu in the year of Xin, Mars in the year of Ren, as well as Saturn, Ji Du, and the dry branches Bing, Xu, Ding, and Si, can all transform into Blade evils above the Yin and Yang stars. If such Blade stars also serve as the ruler of the palace, ruler of the degree, and body ruler, and assist the Sun, they themselves will achieve honor and prestige, but their parents will inevitably face difficulties. The rest can be inferred in the same way.
The sun and moon conflicting with the "Heavenly Gang" — the Chen palace is the Heavenly Gang, and the Xu palace is the Heavenly Gang — if the sun and moon are exactly in these two palaces, or if one is born at the time of the conjunction of the sun and moon, it is certain to harm the parents, and one's lifespan is likely to be short. If the sun and moon are obscured and eroded, and the命宫 is in the degree of "four days" or "four months," it indicates a short life; even if one does not die young, they can only be considered as dull and insignificant. If the destiny path later reaches the degree of "four months" or "four days," it is certain to result in death. If the sun and moon conjoin in the field palace, or in the official palace, or directly opposite the wife palace, or sandwich the official palace or the field palace, it can be judged as a fortunate and auspicious destiny; but if the palace ruler, body ruler, and degree ruler lose their proper order, it is not good, just like a poor person living next to a rich person, eventually being surpassed and losing strength.
The conjunction of the sun and moon in the place where the nobleman resides, without any malevolent stars to break it, is an excellent configuration. When the sun and moon flank the nobleman, it indicates a noble destiny. When the sun and moon face towards the North Star, it is a superior configuration, rarely encountered. When the sun and moon flank the position of 'Chongxun' without any malevolent stars to disrupt it, it signifies a life of ease and comfort. When the sun and moon face towards the 'Tai Su' (the year's ruler), it can be judged as a great blessing. The place where the 'Tai Su' resides is also called the 'Su Jia' (year's carriage) palace. When the sun and moon face towards the 'Su Dian' (year's hall), it is also auspicious. For example, a person born in the year of Bingyin, his 'Su Dian' is in the Chen palace. The term 'er qi' refers to the sun and moon. If the sun and moon face towards the 'Dahao' or 'Xiaohao' (Great and Minor Loss) palace or the 'Hao star', then the person is destined to be poor and have an unfulfilled life.
The Sun and Moon form an embrace with the two evils, "Tian Xiong" and "Di Ci". If evil forces are also strong, it is like a tiger gaining wings or insects growing legs, making the凶ness even more intense. However, if such stars are in charge of the destiny and are properly utilized, with the Sun and Moon also forming an embrace, it can be interpreted as someone who holds power. When the Sun and Moon embrace "Wang Shen" and "Jie Sha", and the ruler of destiny and the ruler of degree are weak, it indicates a poor and lonely life, suitable for becoming a monk or a Taoist. The Sun and Moon are called "two bright stars", which are most unsuitable for embracing "de shā". Those who commit this will have no descendants, their wealth will be like willow fluff in the wind or floating duckweed on water, always scattered and never held onto.
The Sun and Moon form an embrace with the Yang Blade, which is favorable for those who serve as military officers or soldiers. However, if scholars or common people are afflicted by this, it brings misfortune, but it is beneficial for those working in the legal and judicial departments of the government. Women who are afflicted by this evil influence may die during childbirth. If the Yang Blade is located in the命宫 (life宫), and is supported by the Sun and Moon embracing it, it indicates great power and authority, achieving fame and prestige through martial skills. The Yang Blade in the heavens is known as the Purple Dark Star, which governs execution and warfare, so military officials who possess it can use it to enhance their authority. When the Purple Qi is guarding the命宫 and is supported by the Jupiter (木星) in the three surrounding directions, or when Jupiter guards the命宫 and is supported by the Purple Qi in the three surrounding directions, or when Jupiter guards the命宫 and the opposite宫 has the Purple Qi, such people are usually knowledgeable and skilled, but they may have a stubborn wife, and there may be continuous conflicts and punishments.
Water and fire stars are conjunct, but no misfortune has yet occurred. However, once the limit of the life path enters the fire or water degree, it is like awakening the stars, which becomes a major inauspicious sign and can be interpreted as a short life. When metal and wood are in conflict, or when wood is strong and metal is weak, both lose their strength, causing much harm. If the wood star is the ruling degree, and then the life path enters the metal host degree, it can be concluded that death is certain. When metal is in conflict with earth, if one is born in the earth months of Chen, Xu, or Chou, the earth star is strong but has not yet shown its harmful effects. Once the life path enters the wood palace or wood degree, death is certain. When metal is buried by earth and loses its luster, it is called 'metal buried by earth and obscured'. Those born in autumn, when the metal star is conjunct with the earth star and Ji Du, the metal is obscured and loses its color. If the life path then enters the earth degree, death is certain. However, if water star or Yue Bo comes to relieve the earth and nourish the metal, it becomes a favorable solution.
Earth can muddy water, which is called "earth muddies water." In spring and summer, water is vast and expansive, naturally more turbid than clear, so it is not suitable for earth stars or Ji Du to interfere further. If fire stars and Luo Hui also gather in the same degree, the opposing forces are too strong, and there will certainly be harm. For those born during the day, fire is stronger than water, so they are not afraid of water stars and Yue Bo being in the same degree. However, for those born at night, water is stronger than fire, so it is not suitable to see more water. If the person's destiny moves to a water degree, they will certainly die young. The stars corresponding to the person's year and destiny, as well as the current ruling stars, must not fight with the "difficult star." If they do, there will certainly be injury. Even if it does not lead to death, it indicates the person will have illness or harm to their wife and children.
The person's命宫 falls at the boundary between two mansions, so they are either adopted by another family, leave their original clan, or will definitely move their residence and change their occupation. Otherwise, they may have two stoves in two places and live separately. If the Taiyin star is located at the beginning degree of a mansion, or exactly at the boundary between two mansions, it indicates the mother is unfaithful, or she may remarry or have a second husband, leading to the person having two mothers. Otherwise, they may be adopted or enter a marriage as a junior husband, and change the family's residence. This is especially unfavorable when the命宫 is in the巳 or亥 mansions. The reason Taiyin is used to discuss the mother is because it is located at the boundary between two mansions. For example, if it has just passed the Ji Xu mansion and enters the Dou Xu mansion, this is the origin of the concept of "two boundaries." If a star is located at the beginning degree of a mansion, or if several stars are together crossing into another mansion, the person will definitely leave their original clan, be adopted by another family, and establish their own household. They will be born into hardship and rarely find peace, always feeling unsatisfied and incomplete in their endeavors.
The natal palace is situated over the 'Wei Hu Hu' and 'Lou Jin Gou' mansions, indicating difficulties in having children. When the natal palace is placed over the 'Jing Mu An' and 'Dou Mu Xie' mansions, it suggests that the person will remarry or remarry several times; such individuals are bold in speech and decisive in action, yet they keep their strategies hidden. However, those whose natal palace falls within the 'Jing' mansion's degree are mostly weak in foundation, facing many obstacles during their life journey. Even if they inherit the blessings from their ancestors, they will eventually encounter decline. This can be further analyzed in detail. When 'Yue Bo' is in front and 'Tai Yin' is behind, it is called 'Tai Yi Bao Gui', indicating poverty, low status, and early death, especially dangerous for those born in winter. When 'Tai Yin' is in front and 'Jupiter' is behind, and the natal palace is placed in the 'Wei' mansion, it is called 'Gui Lin Yi Zhi' pattern, which is a favorable omen for achieving academic success and gaining a reputation.
In the degree of the Well Mansion in the East, if the stars of water, fire, and earth, or water, fire, and the moon孛, or metal, wood, and water, or earth, moon孛, and Rahu are gathered above, they fight with each other, and none can exert their power, and it is not a matter of taboo. The planet Venus enhances the brightness of the moon, indicating a person who is intelligent and talented in literature. However, if the moon appears in winter, even with Venus, it does not signify a distinguished person. When Venus and the moon are in the three palaces of巳, 未, and 申, it is most honorable. When the leaves of wood fall and the moon is cold and bleak, it is called 'fallen wood and cold moon,' which does not indicate success, but rather poverty. If 'Guchen' and 'Zi Qi' are present, it indicates solitude. A person born at night with Mars alone in its position, and theZi Palace is a place where one yang returns, placing the destiny in 'Nv Tu Fu' is especially unusual. A cold moon alone indicates the mother is a widow; if water star and moon孛 are also present, the mother is unchaste, and the person is also poor and lowly.
The Sun represents the father and the Moon represents the mother, and they must be bright and luminous. If the Sun and Moon rise into their respective palaces and enter their proper positions, it indicates that the parents will be wealthy and successful.the so-called rising into the palace refers to the Sun reaching the degrees of the four days: Star Day Horse, Void Day Rat, Room Day Rabbit, and昴 Day Rooster; and the Moon reaching the degrees of the four months: Zhang Moon Deer, Danger Moon Swallow, Heart Moon Fox, and Bi Moon Crow. Although it is good for the Sun and Moon to rise into their palaces and enter their proper positions, it is not advisable for them to be afflicted by the Yang Blade, Tian Xiong, or Lian Zhen, which are harmful stars. It is also not good if they are assisted by stars like Guchen and Jiesha, as this may lead to the early death of the parents, since theInauspicious Sha are acting secretly. If the Sun and Moon are obscured or eroded, it indicates harm to the parents. If the Sun is eclipsed, the father will die early; if the Moon is eclipsed, the mother will die early. Those born on the first or second day of the lunar month will experience a solar eclipse if the Sun meets Luo Hou and Ji Du, which indicates a loss of the father. Those born on the fifteenth or sixteenth day of the lunar month will experience a lunar eclipse if the Moon meets Ji Du and Luo Hou, which indicates a loss of the mother.
When the sun and moon are completely obscured and eroded, it is most unfavorable for the命宫 to be exactly located at the degree of the sun or the moon. If the sun is eclipsed, it is particularly bad if the命宫 is at the "four sun" degree; if the moon is eclipsed, it is particularly bad if the命宫 is at the "four moon" degree. People with such a configuration are either poor or short-lived, or they may suffer from disabilities such as blindness, deafness, inability to speak, or loss of voice. The sun and moon also fear falling into the area of killing stars. This indicates the loss of parents. For example, if the sun or moon is located in凶地 such asYangren, 天雄, 地雌, 剑锋, 飞廉, 孤寡, Wangshen, or Jiesha, it is ominous. If the sun is in such a position, those born during the day will lose their father first; if the moon is in such a position, those born at night will lose their mother first.
The heavenly stems and earthly branches represent the palaces of the sun and moon, which correspond to the degrees of the parents. The degrees of the four stems belong to the father, and the degrees of the four months belong to the mother. If auspicious stars are in the degrees of the four stems or four months, it indicates receiving support from the parents. If malevolent stars are in those degrees, it indicates harm or conflict with the parents. This also depends on whether the person was born during the day or night: those born during the day will first affect the father, and those born at night will first affect the mother. If the sun and moon are in the palace of killing or harmful stars, and are further invaded by the purple qi, moon孛, Luo Hui, and Ji Du, then those born during the day encountering the fire star or those born at night encountering the earth star will certainly result in the early death of the parents. Even if there is no direct conflict, it indicates the person may have illness or damage to the hands, eyes, or face with a broken appearance. However, if there is no illness, it indicates a lack of harmony with the parents, or being away from them for several years, or the parents being poor and unable to provide support, and this is also judged according to the same principle.
The planet Mars and Rahu are feared when they occupy the 'head' position. If they are accompanied by the Yang Blade, Tian Xiong, Lian Zhen, Jian Feng, Hao Shen, and Guan Fu, those whose native star is Metal or are in a Metal limit will suffer more. The planet Venus and Yue Bo are feared when they occupy the 'tail' position. They should avoid the Fu Chen, Wang Shen, Jie Sha, De Sha, and Hao Shen, especially for those whose native star is Fire or are in a Fire limit. The planet Wood is feared when it is opposed, and should avoid the Wang Shen, Jie Sha, Hao Shen, and Guan Fu, especially for those whose native star is Earth or are in an Earth limit. The planet Earth is fierce and angry when combined with Ji Du, and should avoid the Yang Blade, Tian Xiong, Lian Zhen, Hao Shen, especially for those whose native star is Water or are in a Water limit. The planet Metal is feared when it is combined with the Yang Blade, Jian Feng, Lian Zhen, De Sha, Hao Shen, and Guan Fu, especially for those whose native star is Wood or are in a Wood limit. The Sun is feared when it is combined with the Yang Blade, Tian Xiong, Lian Zhen, Guan Fu, and Hao Shen, and is also attacked by Rahu, Ji Du, Mars, and Yue Bo, or if it is born during the day and reaches the day's degree in its limit, it will result in misfortune. The Moon is feared when it is combined with the Yang Blade, Tian Xiong, Lian Zhen, Guan Fu, and Hao Shen, and is also attacked by the planet Earth and Ji Du, and if it reaches the 'fourth month' degree, it will also result in misfortune. The Sun and Moon also indicate that parents and family members may not be safe, or that there will be harm to spouse and children.
In the Eight Trigrams, wood belongs to Xun, which represents wind, so it is associated with "reversing the limit," called "wind shaking leaves falling," referring to the situation when one's limit reaches the wood palace and wood degree. The branches that are mutually damaging are: Yin harms Si, Si harms Shen, Zi harms Mao, Mao harms Zi, Chou harms Wei, Wei harms Chou, Chou harms Xu, and Xu harms Chou. As for Chen harming Chen, Wu harming Wu, You harming You, and Hai harming Hai, these are called "self-punishment." The relationships of damage, clash, pressure, and constraint are specifically determined by the position of the current year's heavenly stem and the star mansions. Based on this, one can judge whether it is auspicious or inauspicious. For those traveling through their limits, the most dangerous situation is when the native's destiny and the current year's heavenly stem clash. Especially dangerous is when the current year's star clashes and controls the stars related to military campaigns, rank, and honor. Conversely, if the clash involves the Lu Spirit or the Post-horse, it indicates promotion and success in official duties. When the limit reaches the palace of a star mansion or the land of conflict, it is most dangerous to encounter damage, clash, pressure, or constraint again. For example, a person born in the Gengzi year, if their limit reaches Si and the current year is Hai, it is called "clash." If their limit reaches Mao and the current year is Zi, it is called "damage." If their limit reaches Chen and the current year is Si, it is called "pressure." If their limit reaches Si and the current year is Chen, it is called "constraint." If such situations occur and the forbidden stars are also present, it will certainly lead to disaster and danger.
The fundamental and profound discussion of the origin.
Water, fire, earth, and wood stars can thrive on their own, but the metal star requires the tempering of fire to be useful. If there is no other star to assist it, it is not considered favorable. This is because metal represents the cutting and killing energy of heaven and earth. Once it gathers and controls things, the vital energy of creation will be cut off. Heaven has a compassionate nature that values life, so it restrains the cutting and killing energy. Therefore, during the time of decline, the other four stars still have some strength left, but the metal star has no room left. All situations where stars fall into Kongwang, such as "earth陷山崩" (earth陷mountain collapse), "枯枝败叶" (dry branches and withered leaves), "长江浩荡" (vast Yangtze River), "烂斧绣针" (rotten axe and embroidered needle), and "爝火大明" (small flame shining brightly), and how to resolve and remedy their good and bad effects, must be carefully distinguished.
Saturn falling into Kongwang is called "Tu Xian," resembling a mountain collapsing and the earth splitting open, inevitably leading to the decline of family fortune, a situation that is very alarming; if there are also evil stars pressing from the sides, one is likely to suffer from breathing difficulties or choking, and the life span will certainly be shortened. However, if it combines with Mars, it is called "Tian Ao Bu Qie," as fire generates earth, thus compensating for the deficiency; if it combines with Venus, it is called "Shan Xiao Cheng Bao," as treasures hidden in the mountains emerge, indicating success in fame and wealth. Jupiter falling into Kongwang is called "Ku Zhi Bai Ye"; if it combines with Venus, it is like being cut by axes to become useful timber; if it combines with Mars, it will be burned and broken into ashes; if it combines with Mercury, it is like a raft floating on the water, inevitably leading to a life of wandering.
When the planet of water falls into Kongwang, it is called "Changjiang Haodang," meaning the water flow is overwhelming and unrestrained, leading to the complete loss of family fortune. If the planet of gold also joins it, gold generates water, resulting in a flood-like disaster, often bringing unexpected calamities. When the planet of gold falls into Kongwang, it is called "Lan Fu Xiu Zhen," meaning although the axe is broken and the needle is rusted, they are still essential daily tools, thus indicating success in fame and wealth. When the planet of fire falls into Kongwang, it is called "Jue Huo Da Ming," referring to the empty middle line of the Li trigram, where the fire appears bright due to its emptiness, indicating prosperity. This is especially effective for those born at night, as fire shines particularly brightly in the dark.
Zhang Guo's School of Astral Destiny Volume Ten: The Theory of the Masters of the Palaces and Degrees
The twelve palaces each have an associated element from the Five Phases, and the star that governs this palace is called the "palace ruler." The twenty-eight mansions also each have an associated element from the Five Phases, and the star that governs this mansion's degree is called the "degree ruler." When determining the position of the natal chart, there is both a palace ruler and a degree ruler for the natal palace. Although these are named separately, the principles of interpretation are the same. If the palace ruler is strong and the degree ruler is weak, it is not considered good. If the degree ruler is strong and the palace ruler is weak, it is also not considered favorable. Only when both the palace ruler and the degree ruler are strong is it considered perfect. For example, if the natal palace is located in the Zi palace and is in the "Xu Rizhu" degree: the Zi palace belongs to water, and the earth element is the palace ruler. If the earth star arises from the four earth mansions, female, stomach, willow, and di, and ascends to a palace, or resides within the Zi and Chou mansions; the Xu mansion belongs to the sun, and the sun star is the degree ruler. If the sun star arises from the four sun mansions, room, star,昴, and Xu, and ascends to a palace, or resides in the Wu palace's native position, and the person is born during the day, this is called both the palace ruler and the degree ruler being strong.
In reverse, if the planet representing earth, as the ruler of the palace, is located in the palace of寅 or亥, which belong to wood, or falls within the degrees of斗, 奎, 井, or 角, the four wooden degrees, and is further attacked by the planet of wood and the star of purple light, which are in a state of mutual control; and if the sun, as the ruler of the degree, has already set and lost its brightness, or although it is in the daytime, it is obscured by the wood energy, and also carries the凶stars like the Yang Blade, Jiesha, Lianzhen, and Tianxiong: this is called both the palace ruler and the degree ruler being weak. Those whose palace and degree rulers are both strong will not be wealthy but certainly prosperous; those whose palace and degree rulers are both weak will not die young but certainly poor; if the palace ruler and the degree ruler are one strong and one weak, then the gains and losses will be balanced accordingly. Nevertheless, one should still place emphasis on the moon, the planet representing the body, because the moon travels through thirteen degrees in a day, involving the widest range, and is most crucial for fortune and misfortune.
So there is a rhyme that says: To know one's life of prosperity and decline, just look at the moon. The classic text also says: The palace master, the body master, and the degree master all prefer to face the sun; if these three masters are strong, happiness and longevity will naturally flourish, and even the assistance of the meritorious star is unnecessary, leading to a life of wealth and constant goodness. However, among these three masters, the body master is most important, then the degree master, and finally the palace master. There is another saying: Those born in the day should look at the master of the degree, while those born at night should look at the master of the body degree. This explanation is also quite reasonable. The term "palace" refers to the twelve palaces, and "degree" refers to the twenty-eight constellations; here, only one palace and one degree are given as an example, and the rest can be inferred in the same way. The term "lian" refers to Fei Lian, and "xiong" refers to Tian Xiong. The body master is especially important: the palace master, body master, and degree master are collectively called the "three masters." If we add the master of the body degree, it becomes the "four masters." Scholars should carefully understand this.
On the Stars of Life and Death
The star that generates me is called "En Star," also known as "Mother Star"; the star that overcomes me is called "Nan Star," also known as "Killing Star." According to the Star School of Guolao, generation and overcoming are the fundamental factors of good and bad fortune. For example, if the Jupiter star is the main star in use, the appearance of the Metal star to overcome it is considered bad, while the appearance of the Water star to generate it is considered good. This reasoning is indeed correct. However, there are also cases where generation is ineffective or overcoming is harmless. For instance, water generating wood in the winter month or fire generating earth in the summer month belongs to "generation without benefit." Therefore, it is said that wood in the three winter months encountering water will only become colder, and earth in the hot summer encountering fire will only become drier. Generation that is not timely can become a burden instead.
For example, in spring, metal overcomes wood, and in summer, water and fire clash, which is considered 'overcoming without harm'. Therefore, when the planet of metal and the planet of wood are in conjunction during spring, they can bring fame and profit, but during autumn, when wood is attacked by metal, it will certainly be ruined. When the planet of water and the planet of Mars (fluorescent planet) are in conjunction, in winter, water is strong and fire is extinguished, leading to failure, but in summer, when fire is strong and water is present to balance it, the result is favorable. The principles of generation and overcoming must be considered in relation to the four seasons to be fully understood. However, those who discuss stars must be flexible and adaptable to grasp the subtleties. The wise are like pearls rolling in a bowl, moving smoothly in any direction; the foolish only look for a horse in a picture. If someone rigidly believes that a favorable star brings fortune or a difficult star brings misfortune, they are like fixing the pegs of a zither and beating it, or searching for a boat in a marked spot on the river. Such an approach is not worth discussing. The terms 'generation' and 'overcoming' refer to the favorable and difficult stars. There are cases of 'generation without actual generation': for instance, water can generate wood, but if water is first harmed by earth, it can no longer generate wood. There are also cases of 'overcoming without actual overcoming': for example, fire can overcome metal, but if fire is first subdued by water, it can no longer overcome metal. These two points clarify the true meaning of generation and overcoming; the rest can be inferred in a similar manner.
The supplementary texts discuss the principles of the classics.
The five planets originally reside in their respective constellations and are naturally powerful when used. However, if they are attacked or confronted by the stars they are忌 (to be avoided), even if they are within their own palace and constellation, they will be controlled by the opposing force and unable to prevail. If the planet has already lost its constellation, it becomes even more unfavorable. When Jupiter is useful, it is忌 (to be avoided) for the gold star to invade the four wooden palaces: Dou Mu Xie, Jiao Mu Jiao, Jing Mu An, and Kui Mu Lang, as well as the two wooden palaces: Yin and Hai.
When the Sun is beneficial, it should not be invaded by the planet Jupiter, Purple Qi, and Luo Hui (the text here is missing one character) into the four palaces of the Sun: the palace of Xūrì Shǔ (Mouse), Fángrì Tù (Rabbit), Xīngrì Mǎ (Horse), and Mǎorì Jī (Chicken), as well as the main palace of the Sun at the hour of Wǔ (Midday). When the Moon is beneficial, it should not be invaded by the planet Saturn and Jìdū into the four palaces of the Moon: Wēiyuè Yān (Swallow), Xīnyuè Hú (Fox), Zhāngyuè Lù (Deer), and Bìyuè Wū (Crow), as well as the main palace of the Moon at the hour of Wèi (Earth). Any star that is considered harmful should not only avoid entering its own palace but also should not shine upon its own palace. The limits and degrees of the person's body palace and life palace should also avoid approaching these areas. If such a situation occurs, one must seek help from another beneficial star; if there is no rescue, it is definitely a凶 (adverse) outcome. However, if the harmful star is sitting on the palace or palace of the main star but is suppressed by a stronger star, it is actually a fortunate situation, because the harmful star is already injured and cannot exert its harmful influence. Generally, each star has its own harmful influence, and one must carefully distinguish and decide based on its usage. The term "纬" refers to the eleven luminaries, and the term "经" refers to the twenty-eight constellations. This passage discusses the situation where the main star is in a favorable position, but the degree it passes through is being attacked.
