The concept of "Guxu" refers to the different effects of an empty or vacant position on the Five Phases: metal becomes clear and resonant when encountering an empty position, fire becomes more intense and rises when encountering an empty position, water flows continuously day and night when encountering an empty position, wood breaks in the middle when encountering an empty position, and earth collapses when encountering an empty position. For those born during the day, they benefit from the sun being in an empty position; for those born at night, they benefit from the moon being in an empty position. The method of determining Guxu is: the opposite position of the empty position is Guxu. For example, in the Jiazi decade, the empty positions are in Xu and Hai, so the opposite positions of Xu and Hai, which are Chen and Si, are Guxu. The yang position is called "Gū" and the yin position is called "Xū," which is a secret method. "Guchen" is determined by the year branch: those born in the years of Yin, Mao, and Chen should fear the position of Chou; those born in the years of Si, Wu, and Wei should fear the position of Shen; those born in the years of Shen, You, and Xu should fear the position of Hai; and those born in the years of Hai, Zi, and Chou should fear the position of Yin. "Gusu" pairs with Guchen. A rhyme says: men should most fear Guchen, which indicates harm to their wives; women should most fear Gusu, which indicates harm to their husbands; brothers will also be separated, and parents and children will find it difficult to live together. If Guchen or Gusu is located in the body palace, the destiny palace, the marriage palace, or the male and female palace, the person is considered to have a fate of being single, lonely, or isolated.

The Three Punishments are arranged as follows: Yin harms Si, Si harms Shen, and Shen again harms Yin, which is called the Punishment of Ingratitude; Chou harms Xu, Xu harms Wei, and Wei again harms Chou, which is called the Punishment of Overbearing Power; Zi harms Mao, and Mao again harms Zi, which is called the Punishment of Impropriety; the branches Chen, Wu, You, and Hai each harm themselves. The Six Harmful Relationships are arranged as follows: Zi and Wei are harmful to each other and are not close; Chou harms Wu, Yin harms Si, Mao harms Chen, Shen harms Hai, You and Xu are harmful to each other and have little affection. Another verse says: The Three Punishments and Six Harmful Relationships mainly cause physical injuries and bring unexpected legal troubles, which are very ominous; they also need to be cautious about the harm to spouse and children. Officials are more likely to die away from home. These two evils, the Three Punishments and Six Harmful Relationships, are feared wherever they appear in the body palace, the life palace, the spouse palace, the children palace, and the areas reached by the age limit.

"Jie Sha" is also called Tian Guan Fu; the one before it is called "Zai Sha," and the one before that is called "Tian Sha." Together they are called "San Sha." Jie Sha is determined by the Triple Harmony Formation of the year's Earthly Branch: those born in the years of Shen, Zi, and Chen are in the Si palace; those born in the years of Yin, Wu, and Xu are in the Hai palace; those born in the years of Si, You, and Chou are in the Yin palace; and those born in the years of Hai, Mao, and Wei are in the Shen palace. When this occurs, it indicates loss and depletion. "Wang Shen" is positioned opposite to Jie Sha: those born in the years of Shen, Zi, and Chen are in the Hai palace; those born in the years of Yin, Wu, and Xu are in the Si palace; those born in the years of Si, You, and Chou are in the Shen palace; and those born in the years of Hai, Mao, and Wei are in the Yin palace. A rhyme reminds that when encountering Wang Shen, one should be cautious and restrained, as sudden movements may lead to legal disputes. Wang Shen and Jie Sha are a pair facing each other from opposite palaces, so their fortune and misfortune are judged using the same method.

"The Tianluo and Diwang" are two positions of entrapment: the Chen palace is Tianluo, which is most dangerous for those born in the Yi year; the Xu palace is Diwang, which is most feared for those born in the Xin year. The classics say that the Chen and Xu palaces are evil and weak places, and the Tianyi Nobleman never appears in these two palaces (Tianyi is the Nobleman star). It also says: "Chen is Tianluo, Xu is Diwang; those born in the Yi and Xin years must never encounter these." "Reverse Chant and Hidden Chant" are also a pair: the palace where the sovereign year resides is called Reverse Chant, and the palace where the year's destruction resides is called Hidden Chant. The classics say: "Reverse Chant and Hidden Chant bring continuous weeping." It also says that encountering Reverse Chant signifies a sign of extinction, while encountering Hidden Chant means constant weeping all day. Both situations are associated with crying and sorrow, and if one's life span or destiny encounters these, it indicates sorrow and mourning within the family.

This verse lists the twelve positions before the annual ruler in order, and the method is to count from the annual ruler sequentially. The annual ruler position hosts the sword edge and the corpse spirit; the second position is the sky, still formidable; the third position is the mourning-and-condolence spirit and the earthly female, indicating mourning at the door; the fourth position is the chain and the hook spirit, requiring caution against entanglements; the fifth position is the official symbol, five ghosts, and flying symbol; the sixth position is the death symbol and minor loss, with the monthly virtue in the same palace; the seventh position is the annual break and major loss, along with the railing; the eighth position is sudden defeat and heavenly obstruction; the ninth position is the white tiger, also known as the heavenly strength, along with the heavenly virtue, execution, and tongue rolling, requiring caution against disputes; the eleventh position is the guest and heavenly dog; the twelfth position is the disease symbol and sudden crossing. Memorizing this sequence makes it easy to determine the placement of annual spirits in the palace.

This song explains the method of calculating the positions of various deities and malevolent forces after the annual ruler. The method involves counting backward from the branch of the year. Taking the year of the Rat (Zi) as an example: Hongluan starts at the Rabbit (Mao) palace, while Heavenly Joy is in its opposite palace, the Rooster (You). Blood Blade, Floating Sink, and Relief Deity are all in the Dog (Xu) palace, which is the most binding position and requires special attention. Heavenly Lament is found in the Horse (Wu) palace, while the Hair-Flipping Spirit is located in the Dragon (Chen) palace. Once the positions for the year of the Rat are determined, for other years, simply follow the branch of the year and count backward, moving each malevolent force to the corresponding palace in sequence. In this way, all the malevolent forces of the current year can be determined.

Yangren Detailed Explanation Example

This table is consulted by looking across the horizontal rows based on the heavenly stem of the year. First, list the five yang stems: Jia, Bing, Wu, Geng, and Ren. The first row indicates the blade palace (刃宫) of the Yang Blade: Jia years are in the Mao palace, Bing and Wu years are in the Wu palace, Geng years are in the You palace, and Ren years are in the Zi palace. The Yang Blade is most unfavorable for those born in the day. The second row indicates the blade star (刃星): Jia years use the Fire Star as the blade star, Bing and Wu years use the Sun Star, Geng years use the Metal Star, and Ren years use the Earth Star. The third row indicates the blade degree (刃度): Jia years use four Fire Degrees, Bing and Wu years use four Day Degrees, Geng years use four Metal Degrees, and Ren years use four Earth Degrees. The following three rows indicate the flying blade (飞刃), which are the opposite palaces of the Yang Blade: Jia years have the flying blade in the You palace, Bing and Wu years in the Zi palace, Geng years in the Mao palace, and Ren years in the Wu palace. The blade stars for the flying blade are: Jia years use the Metal Star, Bing and Wu years use the Earth Star, Geng years use the Fire Star, and Ren years use the Sun Star. The blade degrees for the flying blade are respectively four Metal Degrees, four Earth Degrees, four Fire Degrees, and four Day Degrees.

This table is used to look up the five Yin stems horizontally, divided into four columns: Yi, Ding, Ji, and Xin, Gui. The Yin刃 (Yin Blade) is located in the following palace: Yi year in the Chén palace, Ding and Ji years in the Wèi palace, Xin year in the Xū palace, and Gui year in the Chǒu palace. Yin刃 is most unfavorable for those born at night. The stars of Yin刃 are: Yi year is the Metal Star, Ding and Ji years are the Taiyin, Xin year is the Fire Star, and Gui year is the Earth Star. The degrees of Yin刃 are: four Metal Degrees, four Moon Degrees, four Fire Degrees, and four Earth Degrees. The following are the details of Feiren (Flying Blade), which are based on the opposite palace of Yin刃: Yi year's Feiren is in the Xū palace, Ding and Ji years in the Chǒu palace, Xin year in the Chén palace, and Gui year in the Wèi palace. The stars of Feiren are: Yi year is the Fire Star, Ding and Ji years are the Earth Star, Xin year is the Metal Star, and Gui year is the Taiyin. The degrees of Feiren are: four Fire Degrees, four Earth Degrees, four Metal Degrees, and four Moon Degrees. Additionally, two groups of years are listed: those whose stem and branch inherently carry the刃 are called "self-blade years" (自刃年), which include Renzi, Guichou, Bingwu, Dingwei, Wuzi, and Jiwei. Those whose stem and branch inherently carry the Feiren are called "flying blade years" (飞刃年), which include Renwu, Guiwei, Bingzi, Dingchou, Wuzi, and Jichou.

The classic text says: When discussing the concept of "reversed limits," one must proceed step by step according to the degrees. Those whose fate includes both killing stars and blades will certainly suffer injury if they encounter the year's master in their life cycle; those without killing stars or blades, even if their limits are dangerous, will not necessarily die. This clearly shows how dangerous a blade can be. It also says: Without a killing star, how can one harm someone? The matter of the blade has six layers to consider: there are yin blades, yang blades, flying blades, blade palaces, blade stars, and blade degrees. Therefore, those born in the day are prone to yang blades, while those born at night are prone to yin blades. Those born in the years of Jia, Bing, Wu, Geng, and Ren are considered yang, while those born in the years of Yi, Ding, Ji, Xin, and Gui are considered yin. For example, the case of a yang blade is: for someone born in the year of Jia, theMao Palace (Mao Palace) is the blade palace, the fire star is the blade star, and the four fire degrees are the blade degrees. The case of a yin blade is: for someone born in the year of Yi, theChen Palace (Chen Palace) is the blade palace, the metal star is the blade star, and the four metal degrees are the blade degrees. When all six layers are present, the nature of danger is fully complete.

This is the third table of auspicious and inauspicious stars of the Earthly Branches. It is still arranged horizontally from the Zi branch to the Hai branch. By examining this table, one can find that all the evils that are based on the Triple Harmony Formation, such as De Sha, Xianchi, Da Sha, Jie Sha, and Wangshen, are arranged in a cycle of four branches, so when consulting the table, one only needs to remember the order of the four branches. Those evils based on the directions, such as Guchen and Gusu, are arranged in groups of three branches, and their positions shift according to the direction of the year branch. As for Sanxing and Luhai, each branch corresponds to different positions, so they must be memorized individually. These evils only take effect when they fall in the person's natal palace, destiny palace, or the palace reached in the course of life; if they fall in other palaces, they do not need to be deeply considered.

This passage lists the specific stem-branch combinations for "kongwang" (void) and "guxu" (solitude). When reading, combine the four left-side headings to see the three categories: "kongwang", "guxu", and "kongwang's opposite palace gu xu". "Kongwang" indicates an inability to retain: those born in the years Jiazi, Bingyin, Wuchen, Gengwu, and Renshen have their kongwang in Xu; those born in Yichou, Dingmao, Jisi, Xinwei, and Guiyou have their kongwang in Hai; those born in Jiaxu, Bingzi, Wuyin, Gengchen, and Renwu have their kongwang in Shen; those born in Yihai, Dingchou, Jimao, Xinsi, and Guiwei have their kongwang in You; those born in Jiashen, Bingxu, Wuzi, Gengyin, and Renchen have their kongwang in Wu; those born in Yiyou, Dinghai, Jichou, Xinmao, and Guisi have their kongwang in Wei; those born in Jiawu, Bingshen, Wuxu, Gengzi, and Renyin have their kongwang in Chen; those born in Yiwei, Dingyou, Jihai, Xinchou, and Guimao have their kongwang in Si; those born in Jichou, Bingwu, Wushen, Gengxu, and Renzi have their kongwang in Yin; those born in Yisǐ, Dingwei, Jiyou, Xinhai, and Guichou have their kongwang in Mao; those born in Jiayin, Bingchen, Wuwu, Gengshen, and Renxu have their kongwang in Zi; those born in Yimao, Dingsi, Jiwei, Xinyou, and Guihai have their kongwang in Chou. This is the fourth table of auspicious and inauspicious stars of the Earthly Branches. It is still looked up horizontally from the Zi branch to the Hai branch. "Hongluan" signifies marriage and joy, and its positions on the twelve branches are in the order of Mao, Yin, Chou, Zi, Hai, Xu, You, Shen, Wei, Wu, Si, Chen, arranged in reverse order. "Tianxi" is opposite to Hongluan, and its positions are in the order of You, Shen, Wei, Wu, Si, Chen, Mao, Yin, Chou, Zi, Hai, Xu. "Xue ren" signifies bloodshed, and its positions are in the order of Xu, You, Shen, Wei, Wu, Si, Chen, Mao, Yin, Chou, Zi, Hai. "Huangfan" is a忌 (taboo) for the命宫 (destiny palace) and its limits, and its positions are in the order of Chen, Chou, Wei, Xu, cycling through these four palaces for three cycles. "Bao wei" follows the same method, and its positions are in the order of Xu, Wei, Chen, Chou, cycling through these four palaces for three cycles, exactly opposite to Huangfan. The stars listed in this table are mostly auspicious and inauspicious deities of the current year. Hongluan and Tianxi signify marriage and the addition of children, Tianjie and Di jie can help remove misfortunes and dangers, while Xue ren, Fuchen, Tianku, Pitou, Huangfan, and Bao wei each signify bloodshed, drowning, weeping, mourning attire, and the omen of banners and flags leading to mourning. When using this table, first look up the positions of the evils based on the year's branch, then check if they fall on the person's palace, destiny palace, spouse palace, or limit. Only when they fall on the important positions will the effects be realized; if they fall on the less important palaces, they can be disregarded. Also note that in the row of the year's branch at the top of the table, the character "Ji" should be read as "Si," which is an error in the original carving.

This passage lists the dry and branch combinations for the two malevolent stars "Qing Tian" (Erect Heaven) and "You Yi" (Wandering). Both are considered unfavorable for the native's命宫 (life palace) and its limits. To determine the position of "Qing Tian," check the native's birth year's heavenly stem and earthly branch. The last earthly branch in the corresponding pair indicates the position of "Qing Tian." For those born in the years Jia Zi, Geng Wu, Yi Hai, Xin Si, Bing Xu, Ren Chen, Ding You, Wu Shen, Gui Chou, and Ji Wei, "Qing Tian" is in Zi. For those born in the years Ji Si, Jia Xu, Geng Chen, Yi You, Xin Mao, Bing Shen, Ren Yin, Ding Wei, Wu Wu, and Gui Hai, "Qing Tian" is in Mao. For those born in the years Geng Yin, Xin Chou, Ren Zi, "Qing Tian" is in Chen. For those born in the years Wu Chen, Gui You, Ji Mao, Jia Shen, Yi Wei, Bing Wu, Ding Si, "Qing Tian" is in Si. The above are the positions of "Qing Tian." "You Yi" is determined by the opposite position of "Qing Tian."

Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches are arranged in the sixty Jiazi cycle, distributed across ten palaces according to the solar terms, starting from the Zi palace and ending at the Mao palace. Why are the Chou and Yin palaces not included, and why do the Wei and Shen palaces not follow the same pattern? Because the Milky Way spans the sky, beginning at Chou and Yin and ending at Wei and Shen. These four palaces are the path of the water river, while Qingshan belongs to fire. Fire cannot enter water, so it is avoided. As for the effects of these two malevolent stars: men should fear Qingshan, and women should fear Youyi. If they are encountered, they cause harm and misfortune.

This table lists the five states of the Five Phases—Prosperous, Flourishing, Resting, Captive, and Dead—for each season. The headings across the top are Prosperous, Flourishing, Resting, Captive, and Dead. January and February are the first and second months of spring, when Wood is Prosperous, Fire is Flourishing, Water is Resting, Metal is Captive, and Earth is Dead. April and May are the first and second months of summer, when Fire is Prosperous, Earth is Flourishing, Wood is Resting, Water is Captive, and Metal is Dead. March, June, September, and December are the last months of each season, when Earth is Prosperous, Metal is Flourishing, Fire is Resting, Wood is Captive, and Water is Dead. July and August are the first and second months of autumn, when Metal is Prosperous, Water is Flourishing, Earth is Resting, Fire is Captive, and Wood is Dead. October and November are the first and second months of winter, when Water is Prosperous, Wood is Flourishing, Metal is Resting, Earth is Captive, and Fire is Dead. To check if a star is in its season, refer to this table and compare it with the month of birth.

The principle of the Five Phases is that they have both energy and substance, and they are interdependent as fundamental elements, alternating in waxing and waning. The Phase that is in command at the current time is called "Wang" (prosperous), the Phase that I generate is called "Xiang" (auxiliary), the Phase that generates me is called "Xiu" (resting), the Phase that overcomes me is called "Qiu" (imprisoned), and the Phase that I overcome is called "Si" (declining). All things do not grow without the proper season, and celestial phenomena do not manifest without the proper season. In a star chart, the stars ruling the four seasons are different; if we examine the strength and decline of each star according to the season of birth, then the measure of fortune and misfortune will naturally be clear.

Examples of the methods for using auspicious stars for quick success.

The method of using the Five Tigers遁 is: take the heavenly stem of the birth year as the starting point, beginning from the寅 (Tiger) palace. The heavenly stems used are only the five yang stems: Jia, Bing, Wu, Geng, and Ren, because they all start from the寅 (Tiger) palace, hence the name "Five Tigers遁." For example, for someone born in the Jiazi year, both Jia and Ji years start with Bing, so the寅 palace is Bingyin, and the rest of the years follow the same pattern. Below is a summary of the previously mentioned method of starting the nine stars into a quick reference rhyme: "Heavenly Origin禄," which involves using the Tiger遁 to count forward to the命宫 (destiny palace), taking the star derived from the obtained heavenly stem; "Earthly Origin禄," which involves counting backward from the卦气 (trigram energy) to the命宫, taking theFive Phases (Five Phases) of the obtained heavenly stem itself; "Human Origin禄," which involves using the Tiger遁 to count forward to the official position palace, taking the Five Phase that overcomes the obtained heavenly stem; "Heavenly Classic," which involves using the Tiger遁 to count forward to the命宫, taking the Five Phases of the obtained heavenly stem; "Earthly Meridian," which takes the Five Phases of the地支 (earthly branch) of the命宫; "Heavenly Horse," which involves using the Tiger遁 to count forward to the official position palace, taking the branch where the禄 (favorable position) of the obtained heavenly stem is located; "Earthly Post-horse," which takes the Five Phases of theThe Post-horse (post-horse) branch of the official position palace; "Occupational Origin," which involves counting forward from the卦气 to the命宫, taking the star derived from the obtained heavenly stem; "Domain Origin," which takes the star derived from the heavenly stem that is in harmony with the Occupational Origin's heavenly stem.

Month Builder's Auspicious and Inauspicious Stars Examples

This table is used by looking across the months horizontally, with the header indicating the first month to the twelfth month. "Month廉" follows the order of Shen, You, Xu, Hai, Zi, Chou, Yin, Mao, Chen, Si, Wu, Wei. "Month杀" follows the order of Xu, Si, Wu, Wei, Yin, Mao, Chen, Hai, Zi, Chou, Shen, You. "Heavenly耗" follows the order of Zi, Yin, Chen, Wu, Shen, Xu, and then repeats. "Earthly耗" follows the order of You, Hai, Chou, Mao, Si, Wei, and then repeats (note that "Ji" in the table is actually "Si"). "Month符" follows the order of Wu, Wei, Shen, You, Xu, Hai, Zi, Chou, Yin, Mao, Chen, Si. "Value难" does not take a palace but takes a star, in the order of the sun, the sun, the moon, the moon, the fire star, Luo Hui, the water star, the moon孛, the wood star, the purple qi, the metal star, and the metal star again. "Note受" follows the order of Zi, Hai, Xu, You, Xu, Hai, Zi, Chou, Yin, Mao, Yin, Chou. "Dǒu Biāo" does not list palace positions; it uses the戌 hour and counts forward from the palace of the month builder to the birth hour. "Guàqì" also does not list palace positions; it counts backward from the position of the gua qi to the palace of the sun if born during the day or the moon if born during the night, taking the禄 palace of the resulting heavenly stem. It is especially emphasized that Dǒu Biāo refers to the handle of the Big Dipper, which is the most esteemed star. If a person's destiny is pointed by this star, they will be respected by others. Emperors' destinies often include this star; if it is not present, even if one is an emperor, their authority will be diminished. Unfortunately, how to use this star is mostly unclear to diviners.

The method of determining the limits of action

To calculate the great limit (大限), one must first know how many years each palace governs and how many degrees are traversed each year. The conversion is based on 100 seconds making a minute, and 100 minutes making a degree. The appearance palace (相貌宫) governs for ten years, moving three degrees each year, which equals four months for one degree. The official career palace (官禄宫) governs for fifteen years, moving two degrees each year, which equals six months for one degree. The fortune virtue palace (福德宫) and the spouse palace (妻妾宫) each govern for eleven years, moving two degrees, seventy-two minutes, and seven seconds each year, which equals four months and twelve days for one degree. The migration palace (迁移宫) governs for eight years, moving three degrees and seventy-five minutes each year, which equals three months and six days for one degree. The illness and misfortune palace (疾厄宫) governs for seven years, moving four degrees, twenty-eight minutes, and fifty seconds each year, which equals two months and twenty-four days for one degree. The servant palace (奴仆宫), the children and relatives palace (男女宫), and the property and home palace (田宅宫) each govern for four and a half years, moving six degrees, sixty minutes, and six seconds each year, which equals one month and twenty-four days for one degree. The brotherhood palace (兄弟宫) and the wealth palace (财帛宫) each govern for five years, moving six degrees each year, which equals two months for one degree. The duration of each palace varies, as does the speed of movement in degrees, so when calculating the great limit, one must convert according to the specific degree rate of each palace, and not apply a uniform standard.

The Earlier Heaven Heart Method (Answers by Li)

Old Master Zhang Guo said: I do not meet with the common people because there is no other reason; only because the world has changed and people's hearts are light and superficial, so they cannot receive the teachings of the immortal path. Only you, being sincere and simple, can receive them. Li Mou said: I do not wish to learn the immortal path, I only wish to listen to a little teaching on star and destiny, and that would be enough. The so-called "Earlier Heaven Heart Method" refers to the old master who holds the secret of the Earlier Heaven, observing the heavenly destiny and understanding it in his heart, so that it works like a god, hence called the Earlier Heaven Heart Method. Old Master said: The art of divining destiny is about the principles of divining destiny, which must be pursued with precision, and should be carefully studied. The first step is to look at the "main star," which is the master of the destiny degree; the second step is to examine the "body star," which is the place where the Moon resides. The entire method is based on the twenty-eight constellations, with the full circle of 365 degrees as its origin, and the eleven stars as its application. The so-called "useful god" refers to the eleven stars: wood, fire, earth, metal, water, sun, moon, Purple Qi, Moon孛, Luo Hui, and Ji Du.

In the chart, the most esteemed are the sun and moon: the sun is the supreme among all celestial bodies, and the moon is the master of the body. The most beautiful are official stars and fortune virtue: if the official star is prominent, one will surely attain status; if the fortune virtue star is strong, one will surely achieve honor. To determine status, one must establish the pattern. Good patterns include "both civil and military ranks" and "the sovereign and ministers celebrating together," while bad patterns include "heaven and earth blocked" and "wind and thunder conflicting," all of which follow established examples. To assess wealth and poverty, one looks at wealth: good patterns include the wealth star sitting in the wealth palace and the field master entering the field dwelling palace, while bad patterns include the wealth star being lost and the field dwelling palace encountering Kongwang and consumption stars. To distinguish wisdom and foolishness, one must differentiate between high and low: wise individuals often have the Jupiter star and Purple Qi supporting the body star, or the metal and water stars sitting in the命宫; foolish individuals often have the Saturn star and the moon孛 mixed together, or the metal and water stars moving in opposite directions and not supporting each other. To determine longevity and short life, one looks at the vital energy: long-lived individuals often have the field master in command and the longevity star receiving support; short-lived individuals often have the命宫 star losing its domain and the body star closely approaching a star that harms it. These points form the main outline of the Earlier Heaven school, and also represent the subtle essence of the Earlier Heaven method. The key points of discussing stars are all here, and the detailed rules are listed later. For example, those whose命宫 falls in the Tail mansion (Tail Fire Tiger) or the Winnowing Basket mansion (Winnowing Basket Water Leopard) should take the water and fire stars as their main stars.

Using this example of the命宫 in寅, we proceed further. First class configuration: Jupiter and Mercury are both in the Chariot mansion, the Moon is in the Well mansion, the Sun is in the Hairy Head mansion, Mars is in the Tail mansion, and the person is born at night. This is a first class destiny. Such a person speaks and breathes like thunder, is tall and strong, has a strong character, holds authority, and possesses the heart of heaven and earth. They love mountains and rivers, and are not an ordinary person's destiny. The above describes the case where the命宫 is in the寅 mansion with the Tail and箕 mansions and meets the criteria. Second class configuration: two luminaries are in front of the Sun, and one star accompanies the Moon. This is a second class destiny. The two luminaries refer to Mars, and the one star refers to Mercury. That is, Mars is the luminary that pays homage to the sovereign, and Mercury is the star that assists the Sun.

Third class configuration: Mars enters the Legs mansion and Bond mansion, and Venus and Mercury congregate in the Wings mansion and Chariot mansion. The Moon孛 surrounds the Moon (so-called "Great One embracing the toad"), plus the native's main star meets a beneficial condition, the body star is in its proper place, the Fortune and Virtue stars do not oppose, this type is from second to fifth rank. Here it refers to the main star residing in its own mansion, official and fortune virtue sitting in the禄 position, the body star closely approaching the star that generates me. Fourth class configuration: Mars and Saturn are in the Ox mansion, the White General Star (Venus) faces the Dipper mansion, Mercury and the Sun are in theHai Palace Heaven Gate, the Moon arrives at theYou Palace Bull, Jupiter is in the Winnowing Basket mansion and Wall mansion, and the metal and water stars in the night gather around the Sun. This type covers officials from fifth rank down to various miscellaneous origins.

These statements are all based on the assumption that the natal chart is in the寅 (Yin) palace. Fifth rank: compatible with the stars mentioned earlier, but if the ruler of the natal degree or the official star is injured, the configuration of the body palace and natal palace is not high; however, if there are good stars supporting the fields of property and wealth, it is a wealthy destiny. Sixth rank: the body palace and natal palace arewith difficulty (勉强) in a proper configuration, with the water star and wood star entering the natal palace, indicating a destiny for practicing medicine or divination. Seventh rank: the planet Luo Hui enters the natal palace, with criminal and killing stars in high positions, indicating a destiny for a military officer. Eighth rank: the purple qi shines upon the body palace and natal palace, while the palaces of wife and children, official position, and fortune virtue all turn away, or if the natal ruler star enters the third palace, these are destinies for monks and Taoists. Ninth rank: the body palace is in the palace of migration, and the natal ruler is in the sixth or third palace, indicating a destiny of being adopted and raised by another family. Tenth rank: the natal ruler is in front, while malevolent stars are behind, the body palace and natal palace are afflicted, and the eighth palace has evil stars, indicating a destiny with physical disabilities.

The eleventh category: A woman's destiny should have a clear and pure body palace, a bright husband palace, and children palace with flourishing stars. The water star and fire star should each be in their proper positions. These are signs of a wealthy and noble fate. The twelfth category: The body star is weak, the child star is in a declining position in the husband palace, and there are miscellaneous stars such as the golden star and the moon孛 star falling into the destiny palace. This is a fate that leads to becoming a prostitute. The thirteenth category: In addition to the previous category, if the purple qi shines upon the body and destiny palace, but the husband star is injured and the child star is overcome, this is a fate of becoming a nun or a female ascetic. The fourteenth category: If the body palace falls into the migration palace, and the moon孛, Rahu, and Ketu stars guard the destiny palace, while the husband palace is also restricted, this is a fate of multiple remarriages and an uncertain life. These are the profound applications of the Earlier Heaven method. Those who come later should integrate and understand them thoroughly. By using this method to judge fate, it is like a mirror reflecting the form, never failing to be accurate.

Later Heaven Mnemonic (Li Ming's Dialogue)

Old Master said: To discuss destiny, one must focus on the six main elements: the Dipper's Handle, the Trigram Qi, the Tang Symbol, the State Seal, the Heavenly Strength, and the Earthly Weakness. Many practitioners in the world do not even understand what these six elements are, and how can they talk about knowing destiny? These six elements each have their origins: the Dipper's Handle refers to the handle of the Big Dipper; the Trigram Qi refers to the remaining portion of the heavenly favor beyond the heavenly禄; the Tang Symbol refers to the star that is in command in the current year; the State Seal symbolizes the official seal granted by the court; the Heavenly Strength takes the image of the Yang strength of the Qian Trigram; and the Earthly Weakness takes the image of the Yin softness of the Kun Trigram. The first three are related to honor and authority, while the last three are related to seals and injuries; none can be missing.

For example, the destiny of an emperor or king may have a proper structure, but if there is no斗杓, he will not reach the position of supreme power over a million people. A person destined for official success and high status will not be able to receive the state's salary without the卦气. A military official's唐符 must be in a favorable position to hold important power. If the national seal falls onKongwang, the person will die shortly after taking office, or even if he holds an official position, he will not receive the official seal. As for ordinary people, if their fate includes all the elements such as天雄, 地雌, Kongwang, 的杀, 天耗, and 地耗, they will have neither a roof over their head nor enough space to stand. Clearly, the importance of these six positions is the most crucial part of the Later Heaven formula.

Li Shi said: I have already received the method of the Earlier Heaven, and I can already discern the status of high and low. I would like to ask further: how can one discern death by drowning, death by weapon, being bitten by a snake, being bitten by a tiger, or dying by hanging or being struck by lightning? The old immortal answered: This requires the use of the stars of calamity such as劫杀 (calamity killer), The Yang Blade (Yang Blade), 杀 (killer), 贯索 (string of pearls), 浮沉 (floating and sinking), 天厄 (heavenly calamity), and Taohua (Taohua). For example, if the main star and the natal palace fall in the water star or the eighth palace ruled by the moon孛 (moon孛), and the current year is at the degree of 浮沉 (floating and sinking), and the flowing year also meets the water star and moon孛, then drowning death is certain. Another example: if the natal palace and the main palace are directly occupied by The Yang Blade (Yang Blade), and the gold star and fire star are also in the same degree as the main star, then death by weapon is certain.

Those born in the years of Si, You, and Chou have their destiny palace in the Yin palace. If their life span encounters Ji Du and Yue Bo, they will certainly suffer a tiger bite. Those born in the years of Zi, Wu, Mao, and You have their destiny palace in the Si palace. If their life span reaches the Well mansion and Ghost mansion while encountering the Fire Star and Luo Hou, it is also a凶 portent. Another view is that encountering the Fire Star and Yue Bo indicates being bitten by a snake. If the eighth palace's malevolent star also incurs Guan Suo, and the body palace and destiny palace carry Gou Shen and Jiao Sha, and the life span again meets the Fire Star, it indicates death by hanging. If the destiny palace is in the Tian E position, and the Fire Star is in the eighth palace, and the life span reaches the Winnowing Basket mansion's Feng degree, the Ghost mansion degree, or the Turtle Beak mansion's Fire degree, they will certainly be struck by lightning and injured.

Li Shi said: Please ask, how to judge a woman's life course, her coming and going. Old Immortal said: If the fortune virtue palace is good, the body palace is pure, the husband palace also carries the luck, and the appearance palace is also good, then this is the destiny of a royal concubine; if the appearance palace is slightly dull, it is still the destiny of a诰命 (honorary) wife. If the main star of the native and the main stars of the male and female palace fall into the husband palace together, then it is the destiny of a woman who marries a husband coming into the family - the woman's family does not send her out to marry, but instead marries a husband into the family. For a woman's destiny, the emphasis is on the husband palace, children palace, and the fortune virtue and appearance palaces. If all four are good, then she is of high status; if one is dull, then her status should be considered lower.

Li Shi asked: If both monks and Taoists have the Guchen and Guasu in their destiny, how can we tell which one is a monk and which one is a Taoist? The old immortal replied: The "Juhang Jing" says that to determine if someone is from the Buddhist sect, we should look at the palace where the fire resides; to determine if someone is a Taoist, we should examine the position of the water. Generally speaking, a monk's destiny is marked by the purple qi illuminating his palace and the fire star residing in his destiny position; a Taoist's destiny is marked by the main star of destiny falling into the idle palace and the water star entering the destiny palace; both have Guchen and Guasu. This is the distinction between the two. Li Shi said: I have been studying with my master since childhood, and I have never heard such a strange secret. If we already know about wealth, poverty, nobility and humility, then the fortune and misfortune, longevity and short life are all determined by the destiny limits. I beg you to teach me thoroughly. The old immortal said: These secrets cannot be easily passed on to those who are not supposed to receive them. Li Shi said: I will remember them in my heart.
