All the malevolent influences are reversed in their limits.
Charting guides: BaZi Chart Calculator
The Tai Sui is the master of all malevolent forces, leading them to move along the Black Path, so its calamities never miss the appointed time. If a person has a short lifespan, poverty, and constant misfortune throughout life, it is because their palace of destiny and their birth palace are located in the area of malevolent influences, and also because the Sun, the Moon, and the ruling star of their destiny are all in the malevolent region. Furthermore, the malevolent deities are flanking from both sides, and the malevolent deities occupy strong positions. Such a person may temporarily gain blessings or receive some money from unexpected sources, but once their life cycle enters the malevolent region, they are inevitably doomed to a violent death. Alternatively, if auspicious stars are disturbed by malevolent forces, and malevolent stars are influenced by auspicious deities, the injuries and damages can be inferred, and this should be carefully examined.
Therefore, there are the "Ten Taboos": first, the flying star conflicts with the禄 star; second, the post-horse falls into Kongwang; third, the sovereign star directly confronts the命; fourth, sitting on a malevolent star while facing it; fifth, the malevolent star gains power and dominates; sixth, the life span enters the ghostly territory; seventh, the entire chart is formed as a ghostly chart; eighth, two malevolent stars flank the limit; ninth, the main star of the命 is restrained; tenth, the mother star is instead restrained. If the established destiny and the life span violate these ten taboos, the danger is extremely severe. The classics say: the lifespan is not long, so there is no need to discuss further; in dealing with the world, there are frequent difficulties and often being neglected. If at birth the sun, moon, and the main star of the命 are all restrained, and the great limit is just entering the beginning of the malevolent deity or is just leaving the end of the malevolent deity, and there is no savior star to relieve the situation, there is no way to avoid misfortune. Now the poetic rules for various malevolent stars are listed below.
Jiesha Song Duàn
"Jiesha" is originally the leader among all evil stars, and it is not advisable for both the body palace and the main star to fall upon it. If the entire chart has already formed a ghostly configuration, then one should die; if further evil stars are present, there is no need to doubt. If there is no star at all in this position, one should carefully examine the palace positions that are in the three directions and their influences. If a凶 star also falls upon the Heaven Plate here, one's life will be like a lamp in the wind, and it will soon go out.
The Three Evils Song Interpretation
To know that the 'Three Evils' are most dangerous, if they are joined by the 'Difficult Star', one will not end well. If there are no stars at all in the three directions and their reflections, it is even more to be avoided; evil stars must not meet again. However, if the Sun and Moon are both present there, and the official fortune palace is also above it, blessings will be even more abundant. But once the great limit is about to leave the end of the evil, one's fate is fixed in the underworld.
The Yang Blade Song and Its Interpretation
Among all the malevolent influences, the Yang Blade is the most merciless; if both the body宫 and the命宫 are simultaneously afflicted by it, it signifies destruction and injury. When this period arrives, one should be afraid; if another malevolent star is pressing upon it, it may be difficult to endure. Even without凶曜, one should still be cautious. One must thoroughly examine the overall situation before judging life and death. If the three directions and their corresponding positions are also joined by divine influences, then just after leaving the Yang Blade area, the person would enter the realm of the afterlife.
Wangshen Ge Duàn
Everyone says that the Seven Killings (Qixia) is the same as the Wandering God (Wangshen), but don't think that the harm caused by Wangshen is minor. If the body palace or the destiny palace is located in this area, one's life will be poor and difficult, with constant misfortune. If malevolent stars and evil influences also conjoin here, when reaching this critical period, it is as if walking on thin ice. The palace positions connected by the three directions should be carefully examined. If malevolent stars come to surround from both front and back, this period will certainly be very difficult to pass through.
The harmful influence of the snake (Si) is cut off.
The 'soul destroying evil' in the Si palace is exactly where the metal's growth is located. The evil energy is severe and heavy, causing fear. One must not allow 'jiesha' to be in the same palace, otherwise it will lead to going to the underworld to find a place. If a person with a water destiny has the 'earth star' here, it will create a true situation of the evil god being in charge. People should not only avoid those born in autumn, but those born in the months of Chen, Xu, Chou, and Wei are even more dangerous.
The "Soul of the Metal" is cut off at You (酉).
In the You palace, the 'evil star' is located where the metal energy is at its strongest. The metal energy is like autumn frost, and the evil energy is extremely deep. If the Yang Blade also arrives here, then the evil star, the sun, and the moon need not come again. Such a person is not destined to die a violent death, but is likely to die prematurely. As soon as the great limit begins, calamity becomes even closer. If the year's master also provokes this position, how can the body not suffer and groan in pain.
The evil influence of the branch Chou is broken.
"The煞" if falling in the Chou palace indicates that the evil spirit enters the storage, and is not considered harmful. However, if combined with the "three evils" and the "Yang Blade," once the limit is reached, life and death can occur in an instant. If the "Wangshen" and the evil star arrive together, although not necessarily leading to death, it still indicates danger. But if the Sun and the Moon come to support from three directions, the degree of calamity and danger will be quite different.
Fēi Lián Gē Duàn The Flying廉 Song Fragment
Among all the malevolent influences, "Fei Lian" is the most vicious. "Fei Lian" is aInauspicious Sha determined by the earthly branch of the birth year. When setting up the chart, one must never place the body palace or the命宫 in the same position occupied by "Fei Lian." One should understand how severe it is when "Fei Lian" falls into the "Ghost Palace" (a pattern that harms the命主, such as a person with a metal destiny encountering the Yin-Wu-Xu fire triad). This is a case of evil on top of evil. The main star of the命主, as well as the sun and moon, should also not meet with "Fei Lian." In assessing thisInauspicious Sha, there is no need to consider the triple harmony or six harmony relationships. It is sufficient to simply look at which palace it falls into and what pattern it forms, in order to determine its effects. If the current period of life happens to reach the position occupied by "Fei Lian," and anotherInauspicious Sha also shines upon it, this period is likely to end badly.
All Evil Influences Summary
Astrologers who practice star-based divination know the true method for determining the "reverse limit" (a critical turning point where fate and life are closely connected). First, they arrange all the harmful stars and influences. One must not rigidly follow a single method or blindly apply it. They should also look back to see whether the main star of the person's birth is damaged or not. If the main star is secure and not harmed by punishments, clashes, or control, then the person's life will be smooth and can be trusted. However, if the main star is harmed by other stars, even if a god descends from heaven, they would have to worry. "Jiesha" is determined by the triple harmony formation of the earthly branch of the birth year. It is most dangerous if it falls at the beginning of a limit period. "Sansha" is most dangerous if it falls at the end of a limit period. "Yang Ren" is determined by the heavenly stem (for example, the Yang Ren of Bing and Wu is at Wu). Whether it appears at the beginning or the end of a limit period, it should be carefully guarded against. If "Yang Ren" is located in the appearance palace, it will definitely cause disfigurement or damage to the face. This harmful star is listed among the "eight harmful stars." If the moon is also present, the situation becomes even more dangerous. If "Yang Ren" and "Jiesha" are on either side of the limit period, misfortune will come all at once, and there will be no way to avoid it.
The evil stars should not be universally considered as harmful. If an evil star falls into "Kongwang," the situation is entirely different: the sun and moon do not shine upon it, the命宫 does not fall into that position, and the evil star cannot affect the person. If the star is not sitting in the命宫 position, it will not cause death. If one has just escaped from the tail of the evil star, although misfortune may still occur, prosperity is not likely. This is where the most subtle aspect of heavenly mechanisms lies. Those with shallow foundations cannot understand it, and thus suffer endless misfortunes. When examining evil stars and difficult stars, one must also consider their birth, flourishing, rest, and decline, and carefully assess them according to the four seasons. If the evil star is exactly in its ruling period, it should also be judged according to whether it is born in the day or night. If it is in the position of "reverse" and out of its ruling time, it should also be avoided, as it will shorten one's lifespan and plant the seed of misfortune. When all evil stars descend together, everyone fears it, and such a fate can hardly last for a hundred years.
To discuss people who die violently and meet a cruel end, most of them have both their body palace and life palace occupied byInauspicious Spirit. If a凶星 enters the life palace, and the life palace is exactly in a凶地, with the sun and moon shining upon it, the body palace will surely be harmed. What is even more dangerous is when multiple凶stars are surrounding the palace from both sides, transforming the "刑" and "囚" energies into harmful煞气 that attack each other. Such people will surely die by weapons, their lives like withered flowers scattered on the ground. Whenever discussing凶stars, each palace will have a corresponding凶star, but first we need to check several things: whether the凶star is in the "空亡" position; whether the sun and moon are not in the凶地; and whether the凶star is not in its own palace, thus unable to cause harm. Even if we must discuss the凶star, we still need to distinguish between 生, 旺, 休, and 囚, and consider the four seasons, day and night birth, and whether it is in a favorable or unfavorable position. If the body and life palace are already occupied byInauspicious Spirit, and the凶star enters the life palace, and the life palace is in the凶地, with the sun and moon shining together, the凶star will generate "刑" and "囚" energies that surround from both sides, leading to the most extreme danger.
Miscellaneous Discussion on Reversed Fate Limits
The degree where the limit lies must be carefully guarded against the presence of real stars (actual seven celestial bodies, not their transformed energies). For example, if the limit is in a degree associated with earth, it is dangerous to encounter the actual Jupiter, as wood controls earth. If the main star of the limit is also weak, the limit will be overturned. The same principle applies when malevolent stars in the flowing year gather together, especially when they come from the triple harmony direction, which is particularly important. Within the limit's degree, one must also be cautious of stars fighting: if Mars is ahead and water or Saturn is behind, it is a major disaster. If凶 stars like Jiudi, water, or Saturn approach from both front and back, the limit will be overturned, and both the native's native house and the triple harmony houses must be carefully examined. There are also cases where the native's limit position originally has no stars, but is overturned by malevolent stars in the flowing year.所谓 fighting refers to stars that mutually control each other, such as fire and Bo, water and Jiudi, or Jiudi and Luo, attacking each other, which leads to the limit being overturned. If a native's忌 star reaches the limit, it is mostly disastrous: for those born during the day, Mars is the忌 star, and for those born at night, Saturn is the忌 star; when these stars act as malevolent forces, the disaster is most severe. If the nayin star encounters a夺 star, there will certainly be a major disaster, and when the limit reaches this degree, disaster comes immediately and can be fatal. The main star of the limit, regardless of its transformed energy, is not considered in terms of transformed energy; only the stars that combine with the limit's main star are considered in terms of transformed energy. If malevolent stars transform into good energy, it brings great fortune; if they transform into bad energy, it adds to the disaster. Stars that illuminate the native's命宫 and limit宫 have the most critical relationships of generation and control.
The Secret of Reversing the Limitations
Day and Moon Converging with Malevolent Stars: When examining a person's destiny, the Sun and Moon are the most critical stars. If they fall into the year's malevolent place, it is dangerous. For those born in the years of Zi, Wu, Mao, or You, their malevolent place is in the Si palace, which is one example. If both stars fall into the malevolent place, or if they are before or after it, it should be avoided. Unless the malevolent star falls into the Kongwang, it will not harm the person. If the malevolent star instead falls into a strong and flourishing palace, the danger is even greater. Understanding the harmonious convergence of good stars with the Sun and Moon: When good stars join with the Sun and Moon, it is considered a good omen, and everyone knows it is favorable. However, people do not realize that within this goodness lies hidden evil, which is actually the true evil. If good stars meet the Sun and Moon in a palace of growth and vitality, it is naturally auspicious. But if they meet in the Kongwang, Yang Blade, or Broken Palace, the disasters are severe and cannot be fully described. Even when everything seems peaceful and safe, sudden death or violent demise may occur, often unexpectedly. In general, malevolent stars falling into the Kongwang are actually beneficial, while good stars falling into the Kongwang become harmful. This is an inevitable truth.
Forbidden stars attacking: For example, if the命宫 is placed in the Wei palace and the person is born at night, the earth star is considered theHostile God and a harmful star. However, if thisHostile God falls in the Kongwang, it will lose its power. Alternatively, if another star that is harmful to day-born people, such as water and孛, attacks it, the earth star will be preoccupied and unable to harm me. On the contrary, if the fire star supports it, and Jiudu joins forces with it to increase its harmful effects, its power will become overwhelming, leading to an early death. Good stars losing their effectiveness: What are good stars? They include the metal star, wood star, water star, and Zi Qi. These stars are considered auspicious if they are in a strong position and can be used effectively. However, if they are injured or not in their prime, and when their influence is directly encountered in the current period, a harmful star from the current year may clash with them, causing danger. Such dangers often arise suddenly in times of apparent safety, and are usually not noticed by ordinary people. This is what is called the heavenly auspicious stars unable to suppress the earthly harmful evils. What is a 'ghost formation'? It refers to a person with a metal destiny entering a fire formation such as Yin-Wu-Xu.
"Will the evil be evil": For example, if the natal palace is in the卯 (Mao) position, and someone born in the寅 (Yin), 申 (Shen), 巳 (Si), or 亥 (Hai) years reaches the limit of酉 (You), and the Heaven Plate falls exactly on the character酉 (You), with both Heaven and Earth Plates overlapping the same character. Similarly, if someone born in the子 (Zi), 午 (Wu), 卯 (Mao), or 酉 (You) years reaches the limit of巳 (Si), and the Heaven Plate also falls on巳 (Si), this is called "Will the evil be evil." "Meeting evil with evil": For example, if the natal palace is in the卯 (Mao) position, and someone born in the丙 (Bing) or 戊 (Wu) years has their Yang Blade in the午 (Wu) position, and the limit reaches the午 (Wu) palace, this is this pattern. Another example is someone born in the子 (Zi), 午 (Wu), 卯 (Mao), or 酉 (You) years, where the Heaven Plate has a Yang Blade and the Earth Plate also has a Yang Blade; the Heaven Plate has a "Broken" and the Earth Plate also has a "Broken." The巳 (Si) palace is originally the Palace of Fortune and Virtue, but it is also the place where Yang Blade and Evil are combined. The Yang Blade suppresses the Evil, and the Evil suppresses the Yang Blade, both count as "Meeting evil with evil." If such overlapping evil falls on a Palace of Fortune and Virtue, the misfortune comes slowly; if it falls on the Palace of Official Rank, the misfortune comes very quickly; even if there are auspicious stars and the sun and moon shining, death may come even faster.
Out of the limits and into the limits: When a person is going through a period of time, the previous segment is the 'Yang Blade' and the following segment is 'Fragmentation'. For example, someone born in the year Yiyou, the Chen palace has 'Three Evils' and 'Yang Blade', while the Si palace has 'Fragmentation' and 'Tian Xiong'. One after the other, they are all evil influences. At the moment when the old limit ends and the new one begins, such as when one exits the limit at around twenty-five or twenty-six years old and enters it again at around thirty-six or thirty-seven, if a bad star coincides with the current year, one's life is in danger. Loss of lifespan: In assessing a person's fate, the 'Lifespan' is most critical. What is the 'Lifespan'? It is the star corresponding to the Nayin sound element.the so-called the 'Nayin being attacked' means that people with a Wood destiny fear a strong Metal element to attack them, and people with a Metal destiny fear a strong Fire element to attack them. If the ghost star that attacks me is strong while my main star is weak, and if I am in the positions of the four cardinal directions or the Triple Harmony, then when the period of life reaches that point, even at a young age, it can lead to disability.
Dark Qi approaches and overlays
The Purple Qi is not visible as a tangible star in the sky, so it is also called "Dark Qi." Since this star has no observable celestial form in astronomy, it is likened to a blind person, and also symbolizes an old person. If this star enters the命宫 or shines upon the命宫, it indicates punishment and loneliness, but the person's nature is kind and gentle. If this star comes from the Triple Harmony of the命宫 or shines upon the命宫 from the opposite palace, or is present in the身宫, it suggests that the person will have a long life. However, one must be careful: only when there are no harmful stars disrupting the presence of this star does it indicate true good fortune. When an old person's life span reaches the Purple Qi, if the annual Qi star coincides with the Qi star in the original birth chart during the current year, that year will definitely be a reversal of fortune.
On the reversal of fate: A song.
The method of determining the limits involves first considering "taking the star." When "taking the star" reaches the limit, if it meets a "taboo star" that generates it, causing a sudden rise in power; or if the palace god generates it, or if it produces evil qi at an inauspicious time, then the limit will definitely reverse. Mars and Saturn are called "taboo stars," which are also evil stars. When these two stars meet, it is called "two evils," and they conspire to cause great harm. In such a configuration, even if one has wealth surpassing the North Star, it cannot escape the danger of being taken by death. If "taboo stars" and "taking stars" meet and mutually control each other, it is also called "two evils." When the two stars are opposite each other and meet beyond ten degrees, they only bring some misfortune. Even if there is loss of life, it can still be saved. However, if the limit directly hits this configuration, death is certain.
The main star returns to its original position but is instead restrained and controlled, which is most concerning; when the five stars are accompanied by 'stealing stars', and the evil spirits conspire with them, and further 'taboo stars' assist from the side, such a fate can only lead to ascending the White Jade Pavilion and responding to a heavenly summons. The 'stealing star' refers to the star that controls the main star; for instance, if Jupiter is the main star, it fears the metal star to steal its power; if Mars is the main star, it fears the water star to steal its power, and so on—the term 'stealing' means controlling. The 'taboo star' refers to Mars for those born during the day and the earth star for those born at night, also known as evil stars. The 'returning to origin' refers to the main star that was originally in a favorable position, gaining strength and support, returning to its original place, which is most feared if it carries evil influences and is controlled.
Malevolent star with a blade attached
The stars of Mars and Saturn themselves are凶 stars, and with the addition of "stealing stars," their evil nature becomes even more severe. Moreover, since they are in their proper degree and reside in their native mansions, their power is even stronger. If the year's Tai Su and the Month General also come to disturb them, the calamities they cause are endless. When the limit of the person's life reaches this point, even a physician as skilled as Bianque would be unable to save them. If these two stars are further accompanied by "Yang Blade" and "Fragmentation," the person is certain to meet a bad end. The verse says: When Mars and Saturn stars come with the blade, and both stars are in their favorable mansions, harmonious and powerful, and the year's Tai Su comes to disturb them, even if one is of the rank of a marquis or duke, one cannot avoid disaster. The term "carrying" refers to Mars and Saturn controlling the "Yang Blade," as well as other凶 stars such as "Tian Xiong," "De Shā," "Jian Feng," and "Fei Lian," which follow and accompany them.
A凶 is sent to welcome a凶.
Among the malevolent stars, those like "taboo stars" and "stealing stars" are inherently malevolent; the golden star, Rahu, Ji Du, water star, and the fire and earth stars that generate evil qi are also malevolent. If a malevolent star remains behind, and during the period of the limit, one is at the critical or final stage, and another malevolent star appears at the beginning or critical stage of the new limit, with both malevolent stars shining directly at each other, this person will surely become the one being mourned at the end of life, as described in the verse "薤露挽歌". For example, if the strong star is fighting in the fields and wealth宫, or if the strong star gathers in a favorable position and fights, but the purple qi comes to rescue, one should fear that the light of the qi star will soon be met by the "taboo" or "stealing" star, leading to a sudden major event followed by a sudden death. The verse says: when a malevolent star is sent at the end of the old limit, and another malevolent star is welcomed at the beginning of the new limit, one sending and one receiving, the malevolence is certain, no matter how strong a man is, he will ultimately be reduced to nothing. The term "strong star" refers to the fire star, Rahu, Ji Du, and the孛 star; the "soft star" refers to the wood star and the purple qi.
Jupiter seizes the malevolent star
The Purple Qi and Jupiter are both considered auspicious stars, but unfortunately they are mutual enemies (Purple Qi is originally the residual energy of wood, and similar stars actually resent each other). These two stars should not meet within the "light and dark" range. The "light and dark" refers to the specific degree range governed by the step limit. If Jupiter is also accompanied by malevolent stars, the auspicious stars can actually become the cause of misfortune. When these two stars meet within thirty degrees, and there are no Chidu, Shui Bo, Golden Star, or Luo Hui stars to separate them, once they truly meet, it will be recorded in the register of premature death. A rhyme says: if Jupiter is accompanied by the "stealing star," one's lifespan will be difficult to extend. Among the five blessings, only "longevity" is the most unreliable. If Purple Qi arrives at the same time, the heavenly emperor will issue an edict, sparing your heavenly years.
The front gate is closed and the back is locked.
The sun and moon are like a sovereign and a queen, inherently not harmful, yet they can influence one's longevity. This is because the sun and moon are the ruling stars of the命宫 (life宫) and田宅宫 (residence宫). Once they are harmed, the person is also harmed. If the sun and moon are originally the main stars of one's birth chart, but are intercepted by the stars 罗睺 (Rahu) and 计都 (Ketu) at critical points, obscuring their brilliance; or if there are harmful stars coming to attack them; or if the stars 水孛 (water and comet), 火星 (fire star), and 土星 (earth star) transform into evil qi, joining with Rahu and Ketu on either side, blocking and piercing each other. In such cases, not only are the sun and moon harmed, but also the person's 身宫 (body宫), 命宫 (life宫), and 田宅宫 (residence宫) are all affected. When the sun also rules the 身宫 (body宫), 命宫 (life宫), and 田宅宫 (residence宫), the situation becomes even more critical. Since the moon rules the body, if it is caught by an evil star, it means the star that nourishes me is damaged, which would be like living in a dream. The rhyme says: The ruling stars of the 身宫 (body宫), 命宫 (life宫), and 田宅宫 (residence宫) are exactly the sun and moon. Yet there are two intercepting stars, one in front and one behind, guarding the gate. When one's destiny reaches the middle, they are caught between advancing and retreating, and even a god cannot save them.
The star of strength is accompanied by conflict.
Fire, Luo, Ji, Bo and other strong stars, if they serve as the main stars of longevity or destiny, and the native's birth star is in a critical position and meets a strong star again, then whether they are facing each other across the palace, in conjunction, in conflict, or directly shining upon each other, it is not a good omen. If further more, malevolent stars become the main stars of the destiny palace or the fields and homes palace, or the main star is accompanied by 'stealing the star' and is caught between two stars, or is harmed by the victim star, then when the destiny returns to its original position, even if another good star comes to conflict and fight, temporarily suppressing the bad influence, at the moment it seems to be successful, the person will inevitably die. The rhyme says: it is really difficult to bear when strong stars conflict and fight; if the destiny palace and fields and homes palace meet them, fear of injury; other evil stars further turn into enemy stars, shortening the lifespan, spending all wealth and fortune, eventually meeting the阎王.
Different Hosts Attack Each Other
The term "yi su" refers to what was previously mentioned as "du xing," meaning the star that overcomes me. When the Mars is in the limit, it fears being attacked by the water star and the comet; when the metal star is in the limit, it fears being harmed by Luo Hou and Ji Du; when the sun and moon are the main stars in the limit, they fear being damaged by Luo Hou and Ji Du; when the water star is the main star in the limit, it fears being overcome by the earth star. The rhyme says: when Mars is in the limit, the water star and comet attack; when the metal star is in the limit, Luo Hou and Ji Du cause suspicion; the sun and moon as limit stars most fear Luo Hou and Ji Du; the water star and the earth star face each other in opposition. Note: the original text has missing characters in the two instances of "Luo ?," which are retained as they are; according to the flow of the prose in the same paragraph "the sun and moon as limit stars fear Luo Hou and Ji Du's harm" and the general style of the entire text, the missing character should be "Ji," meaning "Luo Ji."
Gathered malevolent forces clash
The stars Mars, Water孛, Ji Du, and Luo Hui are all considered to be strong stars. The term "three strong stars and five battles" refers to the "three strong stars" being Water孛, Luo Hui, and Ji Du, while the "five battles" refer to the five elements stars—Gold, Wood, Water, Fire, and Earth—engaging in mutual conflicts. Once this situation is formed, even if the original destiny has a strong foundation, it is of no help. Even if the Purple Qi and Jupiter come to rescue, once their brilliance is released, it cannot be recovered, and there will be no second chance for salvation. In addition, one must carefully examine the strength and thickness of the original destiny in order to make a proper judgment.
The various malevolent influences are acting abnormally.
The planet Venus, accompanied by the planet of seizing, falls within the tight gate, precisely at the correct degree, or during the time of "sharp confrontation" (when hard stars clash with each other); or alternatively, the fire and earth stars, as the ruling stars of this step limit, are joined by the planet Venus, water,孛, and Rahu. Additionally, if an elderly person encounters a flourishing and vigorous atmosphere while passing through a limit, while a young person encounters a dying and exhausted atmosphere, such configurations often indicate death. The rhyme says: When Venus is accompanied by malevolent stars and meets Rahu and计, with two malevolent stars mutually generating, it is impossible to evaluate according to the usual rules; the elderly and the young each encounter the opposite, ultimately leading to misfortune, and the King of the Underworld will summon people to the蓬瀛 (Yellow Spring).the so-called "sharp confrontation" refers to the time when hard stars clash;the so-called "opposite" means that the elderly encounter flourishing and vigorous atmosphere while passing through a limit, while the young encounter dying and exhausted atmosphere. Note: The original text has a missing character in "encounter Rahu ?"; it is retained as is. This line rhymes with "evaluate" and "Pengying," and the missing character is suspected to be "star."
Limitation into an empty gate
When the person's life limit reaches the position of their destiny evil star, there are no stars sitting there, and the governing star and the stars on both sides and the triple harmony positions are all far away. This is called "empty limit." At this time, if the fire star, Ruo Hui, Ji Du, and Shui Bo, with the momentum of the current year, fight at the main degree of this limit, the person becomes like Zhuang Zhou's dream of a butterfly, going away and never returning. The rhyme says: entering the empty limit and having many evil spirits, the stars are distant and cold, and if the current year's star confronts it, it brings disaster, destined to be a person who lives only in a dream.所谓 "empty limit" refers to the two sides and the triple harmony positions of the limit palace having no stars. One should be afraid that the fire, Ruo Hui, Ji Du, and Shui Bo in the current year's momentum fight within the degree of the original limit, which can also lead to death. However, it is also necessary that the original destiny has already been guarded by these evil stars such as "Yang Ren," "De Shen," "Tian Xiong," "Ci Xiong," "Jian Feng," and "Fei Lian," for the prediction to be accurate.
The Song of the Celestial Sovereign
The term "Tai Su" refers to the person's birth year, and it must be considered together with the current year's Tai Su. Among theInauspicious Spirit (malevolent spirits), the Tai Su is the most important. When making predictions, it must be matched with the branch of the palace position. If the Tai Su and the palace god are mutually generating or harmonious, it forms the foundation of good fortune; if they are mutually controlling or conflicting, it is truly dangerous. For example, if the palace god belongs to wood, it is most feared when the Nayin sound element belongs to metal comes to control it. Such a person will have a life of unstable fortune and weak vitality. Although they may have some temporary success, in the end, they will always make progress only to retreat again. The term "Su Xing" refers to the star corresponding to the Five Phases of the person's birth year's Nayin sound element. If this star is mutually generating with the person's star, it is auspicious; if it is mutually controlling, it is inauspicious.
The "Yearly Sovereign" (the palace where the Supreme Year resides), "Yearly Merit" (Merit and Rank), and "Yearly Nobleman" (Nobleman) are most undesirable when they fall into "Kongwang." If the Post-horse falls into Kongwang, it becomes "Empty Horse," and if the Nobleman falls into Kongwang, it becomes "Empty Nobleman," and even if there is some initial success, it will not last long. If one wishes to establish oneself through merit and achievement, they will not be able to hold a high position steadily. Those whose native palace falls into Kongwang are only fit to stand at the gate, unable to establish a solid foundation. Whether these palaces fall into Kongwang must be carefully examined through the flow of the year. In summary, the main stars of the "Yearly Sovereign," "Merit and Rank," "Nobleman," and "Post-horse" palaces all fear falling into Kongwang.
When the position of the Star of Years comes into effect, its nature becomes extremely fierce, and all other stars must submit to it. If it comes to control me, I will have no authority at all, leading to a life of loneliness and neglect. Conversely, if I control it, although it is subdued, it will result in injuries to limbs or damage to ears and eyes. In summary, the best relationship between the Star of Years and the ruling star of the palace is that they are in mutual generation or harmonious, and they get along well with each other. If they turn against each other, neither will benefit. This passage discusses the three relationships between the Star of Years and the destiny ruler: the "he" refers to the Star of Years, and the "I" refers to the destiny ruler.
The current year's Tai Sui is most feared when it directly confronts, especially when it meets exactly in the center of one's life limit. This situation is truly worrying, as it may bring about disputes, troubles, and financial loss, and if the "prohibited star" also attacks, it will cause a lot of unnecessary worries. If the Tai Sui not only presses upon the命宫 (life palace) but also appears in the limit palace, and coincides withInauspicious Spirit (malevolent spirits), it can lead to death. Encountering Tai Sui in any of the twelve palaces is dangerous, but the Zi and Wu palaces are exceptions where one can remain untroubled. The original note concludes that when Tai Sui confronts the命宫 (life palace) and the limit palace, and meets exactly in the center of the limit, it is the most dangerous. If there are also "prohibited stars" and attacking stars accompanying it, it may lead to death. Only the Zi and Wu palaces can escape unscathed.
How to interpretInauspicious Spirit恶煞 depends on the position of the宫神 where they fall. If aInauspicious Spirit恶煞 is in a prosperous and strong position, it will definitely bring misfortune; if it falls in a place of growth, there will also be many dangers; if it is in the areas of rest, captivity, death, or decline, the misfortunes will come later and the disasters, if any, will be less severe. If the annual star joins with evil stars, calamity is inevitable, and one should not worry about it affecting the命宫, but rather about it affecting the限宫. 「驾」 refers to the palace where the Tai Su resides, known as the尊君. The命宫 should most avoid being in front of the驾宫, and this point does not need further explanation. If the驾 falls in the slave palace, slaves will eventually rebel; if it falls in the spouse palace, the spouse will take over the husband's authority; if it falls in the brother palace, one will often suffer from brothers' humiliation; if it falls in the illness palace, the body and appearance will be incomplete. If the命宫 and身宫 themselves are seated in the驾, then one will live a peaceful and prosperous life with continuous blessings. The last part of the original note concludes: the驾 palace should not be located in the slave, spouse, brother, or illness palaces, and it is also undesirable for the命宫 to be in front of the驾宫.
The heavenly stem is Jia, Yi, Bing, Ding, Wu, Ji, Geng, Xin, Ren, Gui. The earthly branches are Zi, Chou, Yin, Mao, Chen, Si, Wu, Wei, Shen, You, Xu, Hai. The trigrams are Qian (Heaven), Dui (Lake), Li (Fire), Zhen (Thunder), Xun (Wind), Kan (Water), Gen (Mountain), Kun (Earth). The nobleman is called Guiren.
When the natal Nayin sound element belongs to Earth, one should be cautious when encountering the Ji Du star in the ten-year cycle. Ji Du is the residual energy of Earth, and when it meets the same element, it causes a leakage of energy. Even if the person's destiny is based on the Metal star, encountering the four residual stars will still cause it to wither, because Earth generates Metal. Once the Earth energy is drained, the Metal also suffers from lack of nourishment. Ji Du can weaken the Earth star, and since Earth itself has no strong energy, such a person lacks authority in doing things and can only become a coward. The original text emphasizes that the Nai De star, which is naturally noble, is most vulnerable to leakage of energy. Who would have thought that its true忌 (what to avoid) lies in these four residual stars, the so-called "servant stars." The concluding remarks state that when a person with a Nayin sound element of Earth encounters Ji Du in their ten-year cycle, it is called "leakage of energy." Even if the person's destiny is based on the Metal star, it is not considered auspicious.
On the supplementary remainder of limits
The method of determining the limits is not easy to apply: the same "difficult star" can cause death for some people and leave others unharmed. Therefore, one must first check the position of the命宫 (life palace) in which star mansion degree it is located, then determine whether the star is real or illusory, and consider the season at that time. The day and night, along with the state of the star being strong, flourishing, resting, confined, dying, or cut off, should all be weighed together before a judgment can be made. For example, if the命宫 (life palace) is located in the辰 (Chen) palace and the planet is the metal star, the feared stars are the fire star and the Ruo (Rahu). Why then do some people survive? One must first ask in which degree of the mansion the命宫 (life palace) is located. Suppose it is in the degree of theNeck mansion (Neck Mansion), and ahead there is the fire and Ruo. If the fire and Ruo are in their prime and appear during the day, then death is certain; if they are out of season and weak, and the person was born at night, then death is not certain. Another example: if the命宫 (life palace) is located in the辰 (Chen) palace and the earth star and Ji Du (Count) are the benevolent stars guarding the命宫 (life palace), and ahead there is the fire and Ruo, then those with strong fire and Ruo will die, while those with weaker fire and Ruo will not be able to reverse the limit. Other palaces should be analyzed in the same way. Those with the limit in the empty mansion (空亡) also indicate death. This passage discusses the good and bad influences of the命宫 (life palace) and its degree, and students should refer to it without being rigid or dogmatic.
Whenever a person's life limit encounters a malevolent star, one must determine which of the five elements—metal, wood, water, fire, or earth—it belongs to, in order to judge the urgency and severity. If the malevolent star is fire, disaster will occur even before it is seen; if it is water, calamity will happen only after it has passed; if it is metal, danger occurs only when it directly aligns with the degree; if it is earth, the effect comes slowly and late; if it is wood, although it is urgent, the impact is light. The reason is that fire produces smoke before it burns, so the effect comes before the actual occurrence; water makes the ground wet only after it has passed, so the effect comes after; metal only harms when it directly strikes; earth is slow and wood is gentle, so the speed and severity of the effect vary accordingly.
Their respective calamities and misfortunes are also classified according to the Five Phases. In terms of internal ailments: Mars and Rahu indicate heart dryness and heat, phlegm cough, and dysentery; Water and孛 indicate bladder cold dampness, leukorrhea and seminal emission; Jupiter indicates intestinal abscess and hemorrhoids; Saturn and Jiudu indicate obstruction of the spleen and stomach; and Venus and ZiQi indicate liver and gallbladder wind syndromes and dizziness in the head and eyes. In terms of external misfortunes: Water causes drowning, Fire causes burning, Metal causes injuries from cutting tools, Earth causes collapse, compression, burial, and Wood causes falling, collision, and blows, all of which fall into these categories.
There is a kind of fate where the person's命宫 is in a weak palace, the main star is also low and depressed, and the limit stars are weak. Suddenly a good star appears ahead, but the person cannot bear such good fortune, and thus dies. This is like a person who has always lived in poverty and hardship, who can only live according to the path of poverty and hardship. Even if wealth and honor are brought before them, they cannot enjoy them. Another kind of fate is where the person's命宫 is in a strong palace, the main star is also strong, and the limit stars are good. Suddenly a harsh star appears ahead, and the person cannot take another step forward. This is like a person who has always lived in wealth and honor, who can only live according to the path of wealth and honor. Once they fall into poverty and hardship, they cannot adjust themselves.
A person born during the day, from youth to old age, follows the limit of the Yang Star. Suddenly, if the Taiyin appears ahead, this is called "Yang reaches its extreme and Yin is born," which indicates the person's death. This is a secret technique not usually passed on, but it must be confirmed that the limit also carries a "Yang Blade" type of malevolent star. A person born at night has always followed the limit of Taiyin and other Yin stars. When reaching old age, if suddenly the Sun appears ahead, this is called "Yin reaches its extreme and Yang is born," which also indicates the person's death. For example, if the natal chart is in the House of Room (which corresponds to the day), and the limit reaches the House of Extended Net (which corresponds to the month), death is certain, because there is only moonlight and no sunlight. If the natal chart is in the House of Heart (which corresponds to the month), and the limit reaches the House of Star (which corresponds to the day), death is certain, because there is only sunlight and no moonlight. When judging such patterns, it is also necessary to check whether there are evil stars guarding the critical points before making a judgment.
A person's life limit was seated on the危宿 (Rooftop mansion) in the子宫 (Childhood) palace, and when the limit moved to the卯宫 (Rabbit palace) on the房宿 (Room mansion), both the native palace and the opposite palace had no stars, and the person suddenly died. This was because the sun and moon are inherently different, one being bright and the other dark: the危宿 belongs to the moon, and when it reaches the卯 position, where the sun rises, it enters a purely yang and strong place, resulting in 'having others but not oneself' (only the other's energy remains, while one's own energy is absent). Additionally, the sun itself is weak, leading to an inevitable reversal of the limit. Another person's life limit was seated on theStar mansion (Star mansion) in theWu Palace (Horse palace), and when it reached theYou Palace (Rooster palace) on theNet mansion (Net mansion), both the native palace and the opposite palace had no stars, and the person also died suddenly. This was because theStar mansion belongs to the sun, and when the sun reaches the酉 position, which is where the moon rises, it also results in 'having others but not oneself'. Moreover, the yin moon is weak, leading to an inevitable reversal of the limit as well.
Some people have excellent natal charts, but their early life periods are unfavorable, leading them to experience hardship and failure, and be looked down upon by others. However, once their life period improves, they may suddenly achieve success and gain fame and fortune. Therefore, Yu Shun, who was born in humble circumstances, eventually became the Son of Heaven, and Fu Yue, who originally worked as a laborer, later became a minister of the Yin dynasty (as recorded in the Book of Documents, Shu Ming). This point must be carefully considered. Although the original star governing one's destiny is favorable, one should still be cautious of the stars in the current year. If the main star of the life period is weak or evil, and the current year's star is also凶, it can lead to death. If the main star is strong, but the current year's star is harmful, one must wait until this harmful star passes before things improve. The classics say: even if the original star governing one's destiny has no faults, one still fears the harmful stars of the current year. The life period also requires support from the original star, so the classics also say: those who receive support are strong, while those who lose support are weak; if the main star of the life period loses its original position, there is no avoiding a lowly status.
Some people have poor destinies yet still enjoy a comfortable life, and they should not have wives or children, yet they do. This is usually because their parents are still alive, and they are benefiting from their parents' blessings. Once the parents pass away, their fortune declines, and they should not have a wife, even if they do, they cannot enjoy her care until they die. Others had wives in their earlier years, but according to their destiny they should not have wives or children. Before they reach old age, their wives pass away, leaving them alone for half their life, and they end up as widowers. This is because in their early years, their fate was slightly smooth, allowing them a brief period of prosperity. But when their later years arrive, their fate weakens, their luck is poor, and all that they once had is lost. This is a common pattern in the world, and only those skilled in talking about star and destiny can truly understand it.
Some people are destined to have illness in their lives, but it does not manifest in their youth because they have not yet encountered a harmful star, and the root of the illness has not been activated. Once they reach a harmful period, and encounter a strong harmful star, they will certainly suffer from a serious illness or tuberculosis, which is a long-term coughing condition with weakness. Sudden eye diseases in middle age also have the same cause. When examining a person's fate, one must also consider the entire course of their life's periods: even if a person's original destiny is good and their body palace is auspicious, if their life period is not favorable, they will not be able to realize their fortune, and a good destiny can only remain unfulfilled. Therefore, a favorable life period is more important than a good destiny; only when both the original destiny and the life period are favorable can one truly have a good fate. Because the destiny palace represents the soul, the body palace represents the spirit, and the life period and fortune represent the blood and qi. These three must support each other, just like the body itself: if the blood and qi are slightly blocked, the blood will not flow smoothly, leading to alternating cold and heat, concurrent sores and toxins, and external pathogens entering the body through the weakness. If the blood and qi are harmonious and smooth, the body will be strong and healthy, and illness will not occur.
The limits must be "facing brightness" rather than "facing the wrong time" to be considered auspicious. What does "facing brightness" mean? For someone born at night, the stars in their limit should be Mars, Venus, and the Moon (all belong to the favorable Yin stars for night-born people); for someone born during the day, the stars in their limit should be the Sun, Jupiter, Saturn, Mars, and Purple Qi (all belong to the favorable Yang stars for day-born people) — these are called facing brightness, and blessings can be expected. If someone born during the day does not see the Sun, Jupiter, or Saturn in their limit, but instead only sees Mars, Venus, and the Moon shining on their limit, and at the same time is under the influence of these malevolent stars: "Jiesha," "Kongwang," "Yang Ren," "Jianfeng," "Feilian," "Dahuo," then they cannot be considered auspicious.
When determining major and minor life periods, the exchange of deities, stars of fortune, and the positions of official stars such as禄 and 贵 occur after the birth date. These exchanges follow the changes in the position of the命宫 around the winter solstice and summer solstice. Starting from the original birth degree, those born in spring will consecutively encounter the planets of earth, water, metal, and water, as well as the moon, purple qi, and ji du, which are considered damp and dark stars. This is called "clouds and rain that do not clear." It is like flowers and fruits being beaten by rain, leaving everything wet and withering, creating a scene full of sorrow, indicating decline and being very ominous. Although rain is expected in April and May, it is not suitable for continuous rain. If the life period encounters the aforementioned stars, it results in prolonged rain without clearing, leading to coldness, decline, melancholy, and a bleak livelihood. However, if such a pattern suddenly encounters the period of the sun and fire stars, it is called "prolonged rain meets sunshine." This brings relief, a fresh feeling, and a cheerful state for both people and things, inevitably leading to sudden great success.
Those born in autumn month, when they encounter stars related to wind and rain consecutively in their life limits, indicate continuous rain that damages crops. Those born in winter month encountering these stars consecutively are called "rain and snow blocking the way," which are not good patterns. Loneliness and desolation are inevitable. Therefore, stars indicating clear weather and those indicating rain should alternate. When life limits bring balanced clear and rainy weather, livelihood will be smooth and comfortable. Whenever Saturn, Water孛, Purple Qi, and Ji stars conjoin with the Sun, it is called "black clouds obscuring the sun," indicating great poverty.
Those born in May or June have their destiny influenced by the Sun and Mars, and their position is in the fire signs of Si and Wu, which is called "dry demon in the south of the fire," causing life to wither and dry up. At this time, if the flowing year brings in the Earth Star, Water孛, Water Star, and Ji Du, which obscure the sunlight, it instead indicates a sudden success. However, after this flowing year passes, the misfortune remains as before. Therefore, those who have both the major and minor limits influenced by the Sun and Mars are said to be "long dry without rain, all things wither." If suddenly the flowing year brings in the Water Star, Ji Du, Water孛, Metal Star, Tai Yin, and Zi Qi, it signifies clouds gathering and rain falling, causing crops and grass to revive suddenly, and success can be predicted.
Whenever the stars related to rain and wind are in motion and the sun is exactly in the Xu palace, or the limit of the period itself is in the Xu palace, and there is also a triple harmony direction, this indicates a scene of clouds dispersing and rain stopping, with the setting sun shining again. People encountering such a configuration are likely to achieve success in their later years. In the month of winter, when the water star meets the RuoHou star, it is called "Harmonious Wind Thawing Ice," symbolizing the revival of the cold forest; when the fire star meets the earth star, it is called "Cold Valley Revival," both indicating prosperity and recognition. In spring, when wood is strong, it is favorable to see the fire star and the sun star, but unfavorable to see the water star, Bo star, and JiDu star. When the jupiter star meets the sun star, it is called "Steam and烘," and when the fire star meets the sun star, it is like spring entering the garden, with red and purple flowers everywhere. However, if the water star, Bo star, and JiDu star appear, it becomes like wind and rain beating down, causing destruction and damage, which may lead to poverty, low status, and early death. In autumn, when the TaiYin star is in a water host degree and meets the gold star, it is called "Cold Pond Immersing the Moon," and those born near the time of Great Cold are likely to have a clear and refined appearance but thin fortune.
Whenever the seven celestial stars serve as the body ruler, life ruler, longevity ruler, or limit ruler, the degree of the mansion where the star stops is most afraid of being 'cut' (when another star crosses through and interrupts its energy flow). If it is cut, it often indicates death. Similarly, if the stars generate harmful energy, the situation becomes even worse if they are accompanied by malevolent stars or the Yang Blade. A cut occurring behind the star is less severe, but one occurring in front is more serious. For example, if the limit is in a mansion of wood, it fears the presence of a metal star; if in a fire mansion, it fears water; if in earth, it fears wood; if in metal, it fears fire; if in water, it fears earth; if in a mansion of the moon, it fears the presence of Rahu and Ketu; and if in a mansion of the sun, it fears wood, Rahu, Ketu, and water or Mars. However, there are exceptions: if the limit is in a wood mansion and meets a metal star, but it is in spring when wood is strong, the connection remains unbroken; if the limit is in a fire mansion and meets a water star, but it is in summer when fire is strong, the connection remains unbroken; if a metal star is in a fire mansion and the person is born in autumn, there is no harm; if a water mansion meets an earth star and the person is born in winter, it is actually beneficial; and if the earth of the months of辰, 戌, 丑, or 未 meets wood, there is no harm. This method of 'cutting' requires careful distinction and is a crucial point.
