On the Gengchen day, the eighth arrangement: the stem is on Chou.
Charting guides: Da Liu Ren Chart Calculator, Jin Kou Jue Chart
This divination lesson has three patterns: "Re-examination," where among the four lessons only one instance has a lower god harming the upper god, taking its initiating transmission, and the matter arises from below, requiring careful re-examination; "Sudden Occurrence," where the matter arises suddenly; and "Following," where the first transmission leads the way and the final transmission follows, with the day stem in the middle, indicating someone assisting. The rhyme says: one must first spend one's own money before gaining substantial profit; the first transmission acts as a leader and the final transmission as a follower, with the hidden Ding god of this ten-day period and the nobleman of the day both appearing together.
Yin wood is the wealth star for a Geng day stem, but it sits in the Kongwang position, so there will be initial expenses. Among the three transmissions, the day stem overcomes the first transmission's wealth, and then continues to overcome sequentially, overcoming nothing but wealth; obtaining wealth again and again, what else could it be but substantial profit. The Ci Shen (extraordinary deity) of the day stem's Chou earth is the original deity of this ten-day cycle. In front, the first transmission Yin wood leads the way, and behind, the final transmission Zi water follows. Chou, according to the ten-day cycle, emerges as the Tian Gan (heavenly stem) Ding. Ding fire, in relation to Geng metal, is the ghost. If the divination is done during the day, the Yang Nobleman (Dawn Nobleman) is present on the person, and if done at night, the Yin Nobleman (Lanmu Nobleman) is present on the day stem. Officials at this time will go out and act, and going forward will be beneficial.
The interpretation states: This is a case of re-examination, with a preceding guide and a following follower. The nobleman of the day stem is embraced between them, indicating a favorable omen for promotion. Although the tomb god is covering the day stem and the middle transmission has entered the storage, the conflict between Chou and Wei opens both storage gates. Unfortunately, the initiating god is seated on Kongwang, so the preceding guide cannot exert its influence, leading to only an empty reputation without actual results. Moreover, the earth of Wei is the extraordinary god of the day stem, and the wood of Yin is the ritual god of the day branch. If the question is asked in the month of You, everything will proceed smoothly.
The weather is clear and evenly balanced, but the harvest of grains is not abundant. The household is safe and prosperous, but there is considerable wastage. For marriage, the spirit of wife and wealth is in Kongwang, so it is not advisable to get married. Pregnancy is safe, with many servants or concubines expecting children, and the daytime divination indicates a female child. For official positions, if divined in August regarding exams or promotion, it is favorable, but in other months, it brings only empty reputation without real benefits. For seeking wealth, small amounts are not willing to spend and large amounts do not come in. For illness, sudden sickness is favorable, but long-term illness is unfavorable. Lost items are difficult to recover. Travel should be postponed to another date. Travelers will arrive late, and messages are uncertain. Disputes can be resolved. In military matters, the situation is unpredictable, and it is advantageous to divinate in autumn.
The *Bifa Fu* says: If there is a preceding element and a following element, it indicates promotion and auspiciousness. The *Ke Jing* says: On a Gengchen day, if the stem is seen on the branch of Chou, and the question is asked in the tenth month, it becomes the "Fengguai Ge" pattern, because theInauspicious Sha of Month Aversion, Great Sha, Tianri, and Feilian all come together, along with the spirit of Ding and the spirit of Mu. If these also fall on the person's birth stem or the year stem, it indicates extremely strange and dangerous outcomes. The *Ke Jing Ding'uo* says: If the first and final transmissions enclose the day stem in the middle, it indicates receiving help from others and achieving success. If two noblemen enclose the day stem, it indicates promotion and appointment to official positions.
On the Gengchen day, the ninth division: the heavenly stem is on the Zi branch.
This lesson has five patterns: "Original Head," where among the four lessons there is only one instance of a superior god overcoming a subordinate god, taking its initiating transmission, like a superior overseeing a subordinate, with matters originating from above; "Moistening Down," where the three transmissions form the water triad of Shen-Zi-Chen; "Incomplete," where the four lessons are not complete, only three are present with repetition, indicating things are not fully covered; "Self-Exertion," taking the meaning of cultivating virtue and self-motivation to eliminate misfortune; "Closed Mouth," where a god at the end of the ten-day period is placed over the beginning or the nobleman is exactly at the end of the ten-day period, indicating that words cannot be spoken and matters cannot easily begin. The rhyme says: the four lessons and three transmissions cycle and repeat, while the loss of energy and Kongwang are precisely at the critical points; originally without intention to accommodate others, even two noblemen cannot reach.
The three transmissions all come from the four lessons, and they cycle endlessly, so matters are continuously connected. The first transmission is the water trigram, and the final transmission is the earth trigram, both of which steal the energy of the day stem. The middle transmission is the metal trigram, which is exactly in the empty position of the ten-day cycle. Although the three transmissions seem to generate one after another, they actually provide me with no benefit. I wish to align with the day stem and day branch, but the day branch is unwilling to be drained, and I am unwilling to suffer the loss caused by the Black Tortoise, which is the general associated with theft and secret matters. Although there are two noblemen present, the daytime nobleman is located in a position of decline and loss, and the nighttime nobleman is attacked by the lower god, so they cannot be relied upon.
The interpretation states: This is a lesson of the sovereign, and it forms the water trinity of Shen-Zi-Chen, indicating a water pattern of gradual flow. Although the matter may proceed smoothly, it will come slowly. Once it starts, there will be confusion and disorder. The three transmissions continuously steal the strength of the day stem, and the spirit that drains energy falls into kongwang. Although it seems there is help, in the end it will result in a waste. It is like a person with full muscles and smooth skin, but empty bones and marrow, appearing strong but ultimately leading to weakness and decline. It is slightly better when obtained in autumn or winter, but still shows a pattern of difficulty first and ease later.
Heavenly conditions have been misty and damp for several days, failing to bring a good rain. The family residence is cold and deserted, with a decline in population and a withering condition. Marriages are unfavorable. Pregnancy is safe, but difficult to deliver, mostly resulting in the birth of a daughter. Although there is a reputation of success in official matters, in reality there is nothing to rely on. In seeking wealth, there is great loss and waste, or it is eaten away by descendants. Seeking an audience with a nobleman brings no benefit. Illnesses, due to the body's loss of fluids, will result in vomiting and diarrhea, with a weak body. Lost items are difficult to find. Traveling involves many expenses. The traveler will arrive on the day of Shen. Disputes are thought to be settled but cannot be resolved. In military matters, if the fortune is taken during the day, it is ominous and the army should withdraw; if taken at night, there will be a victory.
The "Bi Fa Fu" says: To avoid danger and escape, one must abandon everything they have. When a departure of energy meets another departure of energy, one must beware of deceit and fraud. Ancient divination records state: A person born in the year Guihai, in the year Wushen during the sixth lunar month, used the hour of Wu as the month general for a divination about himself. The interpretation was: The entire chart is filled with stealing and leaking energy, and he will be burdened by his descendants all his life. He first served as a patrol officer, then as a patrol inspector, holding three official positions in both water and land routes, all stationed by the water. The house was occupied by "Teng Snake" (a general indicating fear and strange occurrences), and the twelfth position indicated strange phenomena would occur, requiring him to move to another place for shelter. The metal of Shen died at the position of Zi, with Zi's number being nine and Shen's number being seven, their product being sixty-three years of life. He had ten sons and one daughter, all of whom faced hardships, ruined the family fortune, and none grew up to adulthood. The verification of his official positions also matched exactly.
On the Gengchen day, the tenth arrangement: the stem is on the亥 position.
This lesson has two patterns: "Striking from a Distance" and "Embryonic Form." "Striking from a Distance" occurs when there is no mutual overcoming among the four lessons, and the initiating transmission is determined by the day stem remotely overcoming another god. It is like a projectile shot out, the farther it goes, the weaker its force. "Embryonic Form" indicates that the matter is in its initial stage, like an embryo forming, with success or failure yet to be determined. The rhyme says: the nobleman is at a position where he should remain silent at night, and the post-horse carries the wealth star outward. Fortunately, it meets the assistance of growth along the way, but unfortunately, kongwang follows closely behind.
The nobleman in the night is the deity at the end of the current ten-day period, and it is located on the辰 position, which is called closed mouth. When the nobleman is closed mouth, it does not speak, so what help does it offer to the day stem and day branch? The寅 wood is the wealth star for the庚 day, and the post-horse carries it as the initiating transmission, which is favorable for traveling far to seek wealth; if one stays at home and does not move, wealth will instead be lost. When the middle transmission meets the place of growth for the day stem, it is indeed a fortunate thing; however, the final transmission at the申 metal position is exactly in the empty period, like a gap following closely, making it difficult to accomplish things.
The interpretation says: This is a lesson of shooting, where the two lessons on the day stem contend with each other, leading to lack of strength in doing things. Matters mostly come from outside and have little to do with the inside; one should not be overly assertive. The final transmission meets kongwang, like a projectile flying and the arrowhead falling off, indicating sudden misfortune, but it is only a false alarm with no real harm. Also, the metal of shen is placed on si, which is the place of birth and fetal energy. This lesson is also called the "worried lesson," indicating the person's inner doubt and hesitation, with things starting but not finishing. Whether good or bad, nothing comes to fruition.
Heavenly conditions have wind, but only an arch of rainbow is seen without rain. For the family residence, the main person is from an aristocratic family. In autumn, there is good fortune and celebration. For marriage, it is favorable in July during the day, but unfavorable at other times. For childbirth, the卯wood is in the position of bathing and decline, so there is a need to be cautious of injury. For official rank, it is favorable in the year and month of申, but at other times it is only partially good. For seeking wealth, it is better to go to a distant place and retrieve it quickly. Seeking an audience with others will not be received with courtesy. For sudden illness, recovery is possible, but for long-term illness, it is ominous. For lost items, they should be pursued quickly, and those who have run away will return on their own. For travel, there is danger. For a traveler already on the way, he is about to arrive. In disputes, it is favorable for the guest side but unfavorable for the host. In military matters, it is not favorable.
The "Bi Fa Fu" says: Although the Nobleman is sitting in the Heaven Prison of Chen and Xu, as long as he is adjacent to the Day Stem, he can still be used. The "Zuan Yi" says: When the day is Chen or Xu, the Nobleman enters the house. Ancient divination records: A person born in the Jiwei year used Zi as the Month General to predict an examination result. The interpretation said: The night Nobleman is on the house, the person himself will find it difficult to achieve success; the Day Stem is the son god, passing energy to me, so the son will be able to pass the examination. "Gou Chen" (the general of land disputes and stagnation) is the god of stagnation, the person himself will suffer from dysentery and be unable to enter the examination hall. Yin wood represents the wife, riding on the White Tiger above the stolen energy, one should be cautious of the loss of wife in the tenth month. He will get an official position after fifty years, but the Wei earth is at the closed mouth position, and the Si fire is at the end position, so after getting the official position for one or two years, he will have to prepare for the end of his life. Later events all came true.
On Gengchen day, the eleventh section: the stem is on Wu.
This lesson has four patterns: involvement of harm; "intermediate transmission," where the three transmissions are passed on with one position in between, such as Shen, Xu, and Zi; "cutting the pass," where Tiangang (Chen) or Hekui (Xu) is placed over the day stem and day branch, indicating movement across a pass and a need for travel; and "passing through three deep pools," where the three transmissions proceed in order with one position in between, Shen, Xu, and Zi, with the negative energy increasing deeper, like passing through three deep pools. The rhyme says: the first and second transmissions are both empty and not substantial, and having two White Tigers is most worrying; although there is support above, there is control below, so joy is mixed with sorrow.
The first transmission is the metal of Shen, which is empty in its旬. The middle transmission is the earth of Xu, which also sits in an empty place. Although there are good things like the day's virtue, the day's fortune, and the旬's ritual, they are all empty and not real, so how can they be related to me? Shen is the position of the White Tiger, and it is also riding on the White Tiger of the day, which is already worrying. Moreover, Xu is overlaid with the White Tiger of both day and night, and Zi water is a place where things are stolen away. However, worry and joy are each half, why is that? Because the metal of Geng is supported by the earth of Xu, which should be joyful, but it is being overcome by the fire of Wu below; the earth of Chen is supported by the fire of Wu, which should be joyful, but it is being overcome by the wood of Yin below. The side that is successful is exactly the side that is losing.
The interpretation says: This is a lesson of involvement in harm, also forming the pattern of three depths. One must endure a long and arduous journey, and in the end, still beware of harm. Whatever one seeks or plans, it will all be in vain and result in nothing. Only when questioned in autumn is it auspicious, indicating self-reliance and self-strengthening. In this chart, the Nobleman is riding on亥 and ascending the heavenly gate, while the Tiangang (Chen) blocks the ghost gate at寅. The Six Spirits are hidden, the four evils are concealed, and the cutting-off momentum is clearly established. The star Huagai, which signifies obstruction and concealment, also disappears. It is suitable for escaping disasters and avoiding difficulties, but not suitable for pursuit or capture.
The weather is suddenly calm with a strong wind stopping, followed by continuous rain. The family and home are flourishing and the population is growing, but it is not favorable to take any action, and there will be hidden losses. Marriages will not succeed, mostly due to the woman being ill. For pregnancy, the fetal condition is unstable, and for childbirth, it will happen immediately. There is no achievement in official matters. Wealth cannot be obtained. Illness is caused by the day's禄 falling into an empty position and being occupied by the White Tiger, indicating loss of appetite and a dangerous condition. Lost items cannot be recovered, and those who have run away cannot be traced. Traveling is suitable for avoiding difficulties and moving far away. Travelers will arrive immediately. Disputes will be resolved quickly. In military matters, one should wait for the right opportunity before taking action.
The "Bifa Fu" says: When the White Tiger is riding on the ghostly spirits emerging from the ten-day cycle, the calamities are severe; when the Tiangang blocks the ghost's entrance, one can freely plan; when the heavenly stems and earthly branches mutually generate and support each other, everything is beneficial. The "Xiu Zhong Jin" says: When Hekui in Xu and Tiangang in Chen are present on the day stem and day branch, and the three transmissions contain the White Tiger, Tai Yin, and the spirits of Shen and You, it is like cutting through a gate, allowing for decisive action, and the person who flees will never be captured. The "Zhi Zhang Fu" says: First receiving support and then being restrained leads to joy turning into sorrow, which is the pattern described in the "Bifa Fu" as "joy leading to worry."
On Gengchen day, the twelfth layout: the dry branch is You.
This lesson has three patterns: "Hao Shi" (Pine Arrow), "Jin Ru" (Forward Progress), and "Li Ming" (Radiant Light). "Hao Shi" refers to the four lessons having no direct conflict but being remotely attacked by another deity, like an arrow made of pine grass that cannot harm a person. "Jin Ru" means the three transmissions proceed in a consecutive and forward manner. "Li Ming" indicates the three transmissions connect in the order of Wu, Wei, and Shen, like the sun shining brightly in the sky, with great authority and dominance. The rhyme says: the day stem and day branch interact and harmonize with each other, enclosing the nobleman in between; although "Hao Shi" carries the arrowhead of Shen metal, since Shen metal is empty, it is not to be feared.
The trigrams Si and Shen combine, and You and Chen combine. The spirits above the day stem and day branch interact with the day stem and day branch in a crosswise combination, forming the "intersecting六合" (Liu He). The trigrams Si and You enclose the three transmissions in the middle, while the first and final transmissions enclose the night's noble spirit within the middle transmission. Therefore, things are easily accomplished. The original蒿矢 (arrow) had no arrowhead, but now it has obtained the metal of Shen, as if it were fitted with an arrowhead, and it rides upon the White Tiger of the day, appearing formidable. However, the metal of Shen is in the empty period of the ten days, so the arrowhead is like falling off, and it is merely a false alarm.
The interpretation says: This is a lesson of the arrow of wormwood, with the three transmissions proceeding in sequence and connected, advancing while containing retreat. The matter is unstable, human feelings are fickle and reversed, with good and bad interdependent. Also, the Hekui (Xu) and Tiangang (Chen) are located at the gates of February and August, forming the image of "Heaven's net spread wide," in which all things will be harmed. Fortunately, the final transmission falls into an empty and weak position, so although there was initially alarm, in the end there will be safety. This situation benefits the host but not the guest, benefits small matters but not great ones; worries are in the southwest, while joy is in the northwest.
The weather is suddenly clear then rainy. For the household, the head of the family may have mourning affairs, women in the house may be separated, or a pregnant woman may come to stay. For marriage, it is necessary to reconsider, as the媒人's words are mostly false and deceptive. In matters of pregnancy, theFetal Spirit is in the绝地, so there is a need to be cautious of injury. For official positions, one may hold an office but without salary; if this is divined in July, it is auspicious. In seeking wealth, the metal of the monkey (申) is the wealth of the current ten-day period outside the Jia stem, which is likely to be lost by brothers in partnership; one must change the path and seek another way to obtain it. For illness, there is danger, and it is advisable to pray to deities and seek blessings. Lost items are difficult to find. For travel, it is suitable to go to the northwest, but one should also be cautious of loss and theft. The traveler will arrive immediately. Disputes are often caused by words, and it is advisable to reconcile. In military matters, a night divination is unfavorable, but a daytime divination indicates victory.
The "Bifa Fu" says: Most plans are clumsy because one has encountered the heaven net and earth trap. The "Lunin Xinjing" says: A distant god coming to overcome the day stem is called "Haoshu", although it shoots at me, it is not worth fearing; having guests come from home should not be kept, and one often needs to worry about oral disputes coming from the southwest. The "Xiu Zhong Jin" says: If the three transmissions follow in sequence and connect as Wu, Wei, and Shen, it is exactly the "Liming" pattern, with supreme authority. The "Zhi Zhang Fu" says: If the connected transmissions fall into Kongwang, it is called "Sheng Chuan Kong Gu", which means only echoes without real things; retreating is auspicious, but advancing is not suitable.
On the Xinsi day, first arrangement: the stem is over the戌 (dog) position.
This lesson has three patterns: "Hidden Chant," where the Month General is the same as the time of divination, and the Heaven Plate is directly over the Earth Plate's position, causing all things to be concealed and motionless; "Original Embryo," and "Cutting the Gate." The rhyme says: the intention to go out and travel has not yet been resolved, but one stops halfway; all matters show the image of "bent waist," seeming to have some meeting, but with obstacles still present.
Hidden Chant originally refers to something concealed and inactive, but if Hekui in Xu and Tiangang in Chen are placed over the day stem and day branch, it becomes a cutting gate, which instead suggests the meaning of travel. The final transmission is寅 wood, which is the wealth star for a辛 day, so one must go out to seek wealth, and the desire for distant travel cannot be stopped. However, the middle transmission falls into Kongwang, so the journey stops halfway; when the middle transmission falls into Kongwang, it is called the 'Bent Waist Pattern', indicating that one cannot exert effort in the middle and the beginning and end cannot connect, thus appearing to have some success but with obstacles still present. Although巳 fire is the day's virtue and fortune for a辛 day, the three transmissions contain all the elements of punishment, conflict, destruction, and harm, so it is best to remain inactive.
The interpretation states: Hidden Chant combined with the original embryo, is like the heavens and earth not yet divided, with calamity and good fortune just beginning to take root, twisted and not yet extended, so one should most diligently adhere to the right path in order to attract good fortune. Considering this divination, if the person's age and birth sign are aided by auspicious deities, it is most suitable to seek official positions and salaries. This is because the final transmission,寅 wood, supports the initial transmission,巳 fire, which is the official star of 辛 metal, and also serves as the daily virtue of 辛 day. It also coincides with the deity of Liu He.
Heavenly conditions show water below and fire above, each in its proper position, unmoving and unchanging. The wood of寅 is only able to generate fire, so rain cannot occur. For the household, a night divination shows safety, but a daytime divination indicates misfortune. In the imperial examination, the nobleman is not visible, and the second examination will be unfavorable; if the person's destiny is supported by the nobleman, passing the exam still has some hope. In seeking wealth, although the spirit of wealth is seen, it is something that can be seen but not obtained. In marriage, there are many instances of conflict and harm, with more losses than gains.
In terms of childbirth, this divination is called "Suspended Fetus," and it indicates a broken waist. The day branch is also harmed by the wood of寅, which is unfavorable for the mother. Regarding illness, the ghostly tomb is pressing on the day stem, which is unfavorable for the elderly and children; the middle transmission of申 metal is in an empty and hidden position, indicating that the illness is mostly related to the waist. When going out, one will definitely turn back halfway. A traveler encountering the Tiangang star at its own position indicates a stationary situation. Lost items, since the Black Tortoise is not present, are certainly not stolen, and they can be found. For military operations, a daytime divination is concerning, while a nighttime divination is somewhat better.
The "Bifa Fu" says: When the final transmission generates and supports the first transmission, it should be judged in three categories. The "Ke Jing" says: On a Xinsi day, the hidden chant lesson has the day branch's spirit overcoming the day stem, and the lesson pattern is inherently凶. However, one should know that metal's growth is in巳, and巳 contains hidden Bing fire, which combines with辛. Therefore,辛 metal does not fear巳 fire, but rather has a harmonious and supportive meaning. If the original destiny can fill the empty亡, then the Shen metal will turn the lesson into a favorable one.
On the Xinsi day, second arrangement, the stem is on You.
This lesson has four patterns: the original head; "retreating and consuming," where the three transmissions are in reverse order and then retreat; cutting the gate; and cultivating virtue. The rhyme says: a person's feet are on the Ding spirit, where can they stay for a moment? Again encountering the cutting gate trend and the traveling month general, this journey will be ten thousand miles long.
Ding is the most active deity. The final transmission, Chou earth, emerges as Ding when calculated within the ten-day cycle. This is like a person standing on the deity Ding, and once they start moving, they cannot stop. Additionally, the day stem is governed by the White Tiger, and the Tiangang is governed by the Vermilion Bird. The Tiangang also rests upon the day stem and day branch. This lesson is called "Cutting the Gate." Even for a journey of ten thousand miles, there is no room for even a brief pause.
The interpretation states: The upper deity overpowers the lower deity, and the pattern conforms to retreat and humility. Those in a position of authority should restrain themselves with propriety and laws, while those in a lower position should understand the principle of enduring hardship and accepting things as they are, only then can calamities be averted; even a slight indulgence in caprice will inevitably lead to misfortune. Although a strong禄神 (favorable official star) is present, it falls into an empty or weak position, meaning this salary cannot be maintained; it is better to quickly shift focus to wealth, which can instead lead to prosperity.
Heavenly Stems: Jia, Yi, Bing, Ding, Wu, Ji, Geng, Xin, Ren, Gui Earthly Branches: Zi, Chou, Yin, Mao, Chen, Si, Wu, Wei, Shen, You, Xu, Hai Trigrams: Qian (Heaven), Dui (Lake), Li (Fire), Zhen (Thunder), Xun (Wind), Kan (Water), Gen (Mountain), Kun (Earth) Tiangang points to the Si position, but the Vermilion Bird is high and the Azure Dragon is hidden, with water deities below, so rain will not come. The home is affected by weak and confined energy at the door, and both day and night, the Heavenly Generals are riding the Vermilion Bird, so there may be disputes or legal matters among parents. For official positions, the禄神 andThe Post-horse are empty, indicating an unfavorable omen. For seeking wealth, daytime divination is extremely favorable, but nighttime divination requires great effort. For marriage, the male aspect is unfavorable, and the female aspect is also unfavorable.
The conception and the spirit of the child and the son's hexagram do not appear. With the mother's side being strong and the child's side empty, it is likely that conception will not occur. Regarding illness, the person is weak but the disease is strong. The禄神 is in a fallen position and is injured by the Ding fire, so it is likely the person will not be able to get up. For travel, it is a journey of ten thousand miles. Although the traveler has the Tiangang at the巳 position and appears to be still, the final transmission is accompanied by the Ding god, so the traveler will arrive soon. For lost items, it seems as if they were stolen, but actually they were not stolen, or perhaps they were hidden by the wife or concubine. For military campaigns, if divined during the day it is favorable, but if divined at night it is unfavorable.
The *Bifa Fu* says: When the metal day meets the Ding god, calamity will surely arise; if the fetal god and wealth god ride on life qi, it indicates the wife is pregnant (as in a divination for the third month); if the fetal god and wealth god ride on death qi, it suggests the pregnancy is harmed (as in a divination for the ninth month); when the prosperous official is on the person's body, it is just empty movement (this refers to the official not falling into an empty position; if the official does fall into an empty position, it is a different matter). The *Shenyingsheng* says: When the酉 is placed on the辛, and the final transmission shows Dingchou, misfortune will certainly arise from property and land, and calamity will certainly come from the storage place; this is less serious during the day, but especially severe at night. The *Kejing* also says: If on a certain day, the person's age year is placed on the酉, then the divination for an exam predicts that the person will certainly pass with distinction, because the酉 is the star of the second place in the ranking.
On the Xinsi day, third arrangement, the stem is on Sheng.
This lesson has two patterns: intermittent transmission and "extreme yin." The three transmissions proceed in reverse order, each separated by one position: Chou, Hai, You. The yin energy is extremely strong, leading to darkness and confusion. The rhyme says: "Shen metal in the night is empty on top of empty; the tomb god and the departing energy both meet. Although the family is said to be wealthy, once the Ding god and the post-horse move, misfortune comes."
The metal of Shen is already in the旬空, and during the night it is further assisted by the Tian Kong, so it is described as empty on top of being empty. The earth of Chou is theStorage of the day of Xin, the water of Hai is the脱气 of the day of Xin, and the metal of You, which is theFinal Transmission, also falls into the旬空, so everything is old and decayed, and all talk ends up being empty. The wood of Mao in the house is the wealth star, and it is supported by Liu He above, so the family's fortune is certainly abundant; however, the Post-horse steals its energy, and the god of the heavenly丁 harms it, so troubles are likely to eventually occur.
The interpretation states: extremely yin with an intervening transmission, in the darkness and confusion there are many obstructions. The first transmission is the storage and meets the Ding spirit, the middle transmission meets aThe Post-horse that has lost its strength, and the final transmission meets a禄 spirit that has fallen empty; during the day, it is accompanied by the Black Tortoise, and at night by the White Tiger, making the danger even greater. This divination is also called "Mòyuè," indicating that matters suddenly arise and calamities originate internally; divination during the day is somewhat acceptable, but at night is inauspicious. When the hour of Chou is placed on the hour of Mao, and the night divination is accompanied by the Heavenly Empress, it indicates illness in a woman's abdomen or pregnancy in the household, forming the "Fùtāi gé."
Heavenly timing indicates extreme yin, with the Azure Dragon initiating the transmission. The mansion of Net (Bixu) is located at the position of Wei, and although the Tiangang points to the position of Wu, rain is certain to come. The family residence is favorable, but the number of people is not great. Regarding official rank and salary, those born under the metal element (You) will gain benefits during the day; others will have an unfavorable outcome if they consult at night. As for seeking wealth, one already possesses money, but cannot obtain it by seeking it from outside.
Marriage divination shows good fortune for the woman and bad fortune for the man. In the aspect of pregnancy, the mother's side is strong while the fetus's side is empty, suggesting the pregnancy may not be successful. For illness, since the fire of the hour of Wu is the afflicted place for the metal of Xin, it indicates a lung disease. The branch of Chou added to the branch of Mao also suggests abdominal pain. Traveling by land is unfavorable, but traveling by water is auspicious. A traveler encountering Tiangang positioned at the four central directions indicates he is still on the way. In the case of capturing a thief, since both the Black Tortoise and the thief god are in Kongwang, the thief is certainly difficult to catch. For military operations, daytime is favorable, but nighttime requires caution against deceit.
The Bi Fa Fu says: On a day with a metal stem, if the Ding god appears, calamity will arise. When the stem and branch cross and combine, trade and transactions will be favorable. If there is another kongwang on top of kongwang, there is no need to pursue the matter further. The Shen Ying Jing says: On the Xinsi day, with the卯 added to the丑 for the initiating transmission, the丑 is a storage place and also carries the Ding god to attack the day stem. This will certainly lead to blame from graves, disputes over land, or problems related to food and wealth. The root of misfortune comes from women, and disaster will form suddenly. The Ke Jing says: If the day stem is Shen and the day branch is Mao, it indicates a favorable sign for making a transaction and gaining wealth, which is most suitable for trade and profit.
