Charting guides: Da Liu Ren Chart Calculator, Jin Kou Jue Chart

This lesson has three patterns: "Remote Control," where there is no mutual control between the four lessons, and instead the initiating transmission is taken from the distant positions that control each other; "Projectile," and "Original Fetus." The rhyme says: both the other and oneself can still maintain their positions; the nobleman is located at the door and window; the white tiger in the daytime rides the post-horse to steal and drain the day stem; and the white tiger at night is exactly at the position of closing the mouth.

The day stem is supported by the earthy branch of Wei earth, which generates the metal of Xin. The day branch is supported by the earthy branch of Si fire, which is generated by Yin wood. Each supports the other, so both can be maintained. The nobleman is present at the house, like guarding the doors and windows, which is suitable for reporting to the nobleman. The water of Hai is the post-horse. During the day, the white tiger steals the metal of the day stem, so the white tiger steals the post-horse. At this time, any reckless action will lead to disorder. In the Jiaxu decade, Wei is the last term. Now, Wei is placed above the first term Xiu, so the last term is added to the first term, which is called closed mouth. The white tiger is also present at Wei in the night, so the white tiger closes the mouth. Only by being cautious in speech can misfortune be avoided.

The interpretation says: Remote overcoming is also called rebounding, and the calamities and blessings it indicates are light. The farther the initiating deity is from the starting point, the weaker the rebound force becomes. The matter being divined may involve acting on behalf of others or overstepping one's role, or it may pertain to matters of distant or unrelated people. The final transmission falls into Kongwang, meaning the process should stop halfway.

Heavenly time lessons and the transmission of the寅 wood generating fire indicate that the fire energy is already floating above, while the water spirit is sunk below. Although the Tiangang points to the position of 未, there will still be more wind than rain. For matters of fame and status, if divined at night, success is certain, but if divined during the day, it will not materialize. For seeking wealth, if divined at night, it is favorable to receive help from a nobleman, and once obtained, one should quickly and bravely withdraw; if divined during the day, it will require great effort and cannot be fully successful. In matters of marriage, both the day stem and day branch are able to generate each other, indicating mutual benefits; however, both the day stem and day branch also bring conflicts and punishments, indicating some shortcomings. The mother and child in pregnancy are both safe. For illness, due to the theft of the day stem by Liu He and Baihu, a weak condition is certain. For travel, both water and land routes are stable, but the journey will definitely be delayed. A traveler encountering Tiangang pointing to 未 will arrive immediately. For lost items, since the Yuanwu is not visible, it is likely not stolen; one should hurry to search and will certainly find it. For military campaigns, there are both conflicts and generation, with equal parts good and bad fortune.

The *Bi Fa Fu* says: When the Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches mutually generate and support each other, and both receive benefit, all matters will be beneficial. Records of divination cases state: In the year Gengyin, during the tenth month, with the Earthly Branch Mao as the Month General added to the fifth hour, divination was performed for an eclipse of the sun. The interpretation stated: The Sovereign Year is acting as the "You Du" deity, which is the master of military calamity, governing the regions of the constellations Yi and Zhen, and initiating the transmission. Gou Chen is also accompanied by punishment and killing, indicating signs of warfare in the state of Chu. Since the lesson of shooting has already included the use of projectiles, fear and worries will certainly be severe. The Middle Transmission has the White Tiger and the Post-horse residing in the hidden spirits of the Day Branch, clashing and controlling the Branch God; the Final Transmission has Tai Yin clashing and controlling the Sovereign Year, but it coincides with the empty period of the ten-day cycle, so secret plots will certainly fail. Moreover, the river overflowing the well and the White Tiger emerging from the forest indicate that the following year will certainly have much wind and flooding. Later, these predictions were all fulfilled.

On the Xinsi day, fifth arrangement, the stem is in the morning.

This lesson has two patterns: the Sovereign and "Inflaming Ascending." The three transmissions form the fire triad of Yin, Wu, and Xu. The rhyme says: the Heavenly General belongs to earth, while the three transmissions belong to fire. Earth can steal and dissipate the fire's energy, so ordinary people may avoid misfortune; however, a gentleman who divines this is actually suitable. But the dwelling has the Ding spirit, so there may be danger to the house and its inhabitants.

The three transmissions form the fire triad of Yin, Wu, and Xu, and fire overcomes the metal of Xin. This is the official element for a day with Xin as the stem. A gentleman encountering this lesson is a sign of promotion and appointment; a common person encountering it will certainly face legal disputes. Fortunately, the heavenly generals of both day and night belong to earth, which can steal away the fire energy to generate and support the day stem, thus avoiding disaster. However, the storage (mùkù) also acts as the god of Ding, sitting on the day branch to overcome the day stem, which certainly indicates oral calamity and the collapse of the house and property.

The interpretation states: The ruler of heaven is also fiery, indicating an image of brilliant brilliance. The three transmissions correspond to the heavenly stems that emerge according to the ten-day cycle, precisely matching Jia, Wu, and Geng, the Three Marvels. Furthermore, with the addition of the four virtues and auspicious deities presiding over one's destiny, it is truly a very favorable lesson, with nothing going wrong. However, it also forms the pattern of "numerous noblemen everywhere," where too many noblemen lead to matters having no clear focus or support; or to the assumption of authority without proper justification, or to entrusted tasks being scattered and disorganized. The more noblemen there are, the less esteemed they become. If this is divined at night, this pattern is also called "Duo Mu Sha," meaning the nobleman stares intently at you, leading to added blame and punishment. It is not advisable to report to the nobleman, and especially in matters of litigation, it is particularly ominous.

The heavens show three transmissions forming a fire formation, and the heavenly generals are all of earth type, indicating no rain will come. For the family, the spirit of the day stem is being overcome by the spirit of the fourth heaven, so there will be misfortune for people and the house. In matters of official position, the nobleman is initiating the transmission and the official star is strong, so an official position is certain. For seeking wealth, since the official star is strong, the wealth energy is weak and confined. For marriage, both partners are of equal talent and appearance. For childbirth, mother and child are both auspicious. For illness, since the fire of the fifth heaven is the illness place for the metal of the eighth heaven, and the three transmissions are all ghosts, it will be auspicious only if there is a saving deity in the person's birth year. For travel, both water and land routes are auspicious. The traveler has not yet departed. For military action, it is certain to expand a thousand li of territory. For lost items, since the black tortoise is at the酉 position, it is likely stolen by a servant or maid.

The "Bifa Fu" says: Although many ghosts and spirits are visible, there is no need to fear them; the noble and exalted position lies in encountering the Three Marvels within the Three Transmissions; if the Four Lessons and Three Transmissions are everywhere filled with Noblemen, then there is nowhere to rely on. The "Liu Ren Zhi Nan" records: In the year Jichou, during the first lunar month, the month general is亥, placed at the卯 hour, to predict the fortune and misfortune of Datong. The divination says: The Youdu is located before the day branch, the贼符 invades the You region, and there will certainly be military movements in the northwest. The first transmission is prosperous and strong, and generates and harmonizes with the final transmission, indicating that conspirators are connecting inside and outside; the middle transmission is the month general and conquers the final transmission, which certainly leads to the breaking of the city and the killing of generals. Adding the丁 god from the ten-day cycle, it first appears at the yang god of the day branch, then enters the yin god of the day branch, and there will also be a surge of local bandits, but in the end they will certainly surrender.

On the Xinsi day, sixth arrangement, the stem is on the巳.

This lesson has four patterns: involvement in harm; 'no fortune', where the gods in the four lessons all overcome the lower gods, and the day's fortune is taken away; incompleteness; and 'disordered beginning', where the god of the day's branch is placed on top of the day's stem and then overcomes it, showing a lower god attacking a higher one, causing confusion at the top. The rhyme says: since all four lessons and three transmissions are upper overcoming lower, it is called 'no fortune'; both upper and lower are afraid of each other; the other side comes forward to be disrespectful and offensive.

The four lessons all have the upper god overcoming the lower god, so this lesson is called no fortune. The day stem is Xin metal, which is overcome by Si fire. The Si fire in the day branch is also injured by Zi water. Therefore, both upper and lower are afraid of each other. Si, which originally is the branch god of the day branch, now appears on the day stem and turns around to overcome the day stem. This is called disorder at the beginning. It is like someone coming to the door to bully, hence it is called disorder at the door.

The interpretation states: The name of the lesson is incomplete, and all matters are not fully covered. Those in high positions will certainly become isolated, and those in low positions will certainly become scattered. Because the superior deity entirely overpowers the inferior deity, the superior cannot be loyal, generous, or forgiving, and the servants and attendants below will naturally disperse. As a result, those above cannot retain their official position, and those below cannot keep their wives and children.

Heavenly Stems: Jia, Yi, Bing, Ding, Wu, Ji, Geng, Xin, Ren, Gui Earthly Branches: Zi, Chou, Yin, Mao, Chen, Si, Wu, Wei, Shen, You, Xu, Hai Trigrams: Qian (Heaven), Dui (Lake), Li (Fire), Zhen (Thunder), Xun (Wind), Kan (Water), Gen (Mountain), Kun (Earth) Liu He, Azure Dragon, Tiangang (Chen), Net mansion, Storage, Kongwang Heavenly Stems: Jia, Yi, Bing, Ding, Wu, Ji, Geng, Xin, Ren, Gui Earthly Branches: Zi, Chou, Yin, Mao, Chen, Si, Wu, Wei, Shen, You, Xu, Hai Trigrams: Qian (Heaven), Dui (Lake), Li (Fire), Zhen (Thunder), Xun (Wind), Kan (Water), Gen (Mountain), Kun (Earth) Liu He, Azure Dragon, Tiangang (Chen), Net mansion, Storage, Kongwang The heavens indicate that the Tiangang (Chen) points to the Net mansion, which governs rain. Water vapour has already risen, but suddenly the Earthly Branch of Wei (Earth) comes to overcome it, so the rain will not be heavy. The family home faces betrayal by its people, and relatives scatter apart. The household declines, and fortune is shallow. Although descendants are seen, one remains ultimately alone. Since official rank is called withoutofficial stipend (salary), there can be no official position. Seeking wealth, both Azure Dragon and Liu He fall into Kongwang, and the wealth element is located in Storage, so wealth will certainly not be obtained. Marriage is unfavorable for the male partner and also not auspicious for the female.

The fetal god and wealth god are seated in the storage position; childbirth will certainly be difficult. If it meets the life qi, it is still favorable, but if it meets the death qi, it will be ominous. For illness, the disease qi reverses to attack people. The禄 god is both empty and cut off. The Teng Snake and White Tiger are in the initiating transmission; predicting the illness of a child indicates certain death. For travel, the god on the day branch attacks the god on the day stem; wanting to go is impossible, and even if one goes, it is not favorable. The person who has left will return, but those here cannot return. For lost items, the Black Tortoise is on the day stem and attacks the day stem; it is certainly stolen by thieves. However, the Black Tortoise is attached to the Heavenly Empress and is seated in the storage position; it is certainly not gone elsewhere, and recovery is easy. In military matters, governing subordinates should be lenient, but attacking a city is unfavorable.

The Bei Fa Fu says: When both the day stem and day branch are injured, one should beware of losses on both sides; if the wealth god and the fetal god are riding on life qi, it indicates the wife is pregnant, but if they ride on death qi, it suggests harm to the pregnancy. The Guan Jing Meng says: The day stem is like an elder or father, and the day branch is like a young son. When the elder exerts influence over the son, the son ends up overcoming the elder, which is called "luan shou," meaning the elderly must bow and submit. Without propriety at home, how can there be order in the public domain? The Ke Jing also says: On a Xin Si day, with Zi added to Si, if this is divined in autumn, the water of Zi opposes the fire of the house, making it a ghost, and the heavenly general at night rides the Vermilion Bird to attack the house, so one must beware of fire disasters.

On the Xinsi day, seventh arrangement, the stem is on the Chén position.

This lesson has two patterns: Reverse Chant and No Dependence. The rhyme says: The god of growth is not reliable, so do not try to elevate it further; instead, turn to the nearby position of Chen, which is muddy earth, but even then, you will lose ten parts and gain only one; the nobleman's gate is still not worth striving for.

The fire in the snake (Si) is the place of growth for the metal of Xin, but it is located on the亥 (Hai) position and is squeezed between the Heavenly Empress and the Black Tortoise, which control it. How can it then support the day stem? If we retreat and rely on the nearby position of Chen (the muddy earth), the Chen is itself clashed by Xu earth, so it gains little. Instead, it is freely drained by the middle transmission water in Hai. This is called gaining one part but losing ten. The nobleman of the day, the fire of Wu, is located on Zi, while the nobleman of the night, the wood of Yin, is located on Shen. Both are clashed by the underlying spirits, so seeking their help will bring no benefit. The gate of the nobleman is not reachable.

The interpretation states: Reverse Chant with no support indicates that matters will certainly be repeated and fluctuating. What is gained will inevitably be lost again; seemingly failed affairs may yet succeed. It often indicates frequent changes and alterations, as well as one matter splitting into two. The person consulting is doubtful and uncertain, indicating a state of lack of support.

Heavenly time indicates that亥 is the Heaven Gate and巳 is the Earth Gate; now they are connected, and the Azure Dragon carries water upward to the sky, so rain is certain. For the household, the daily virtue deity represents the elder, but now it is being overcome, so the elder will suffer misfortune. For official rank, although there is an official star, it is overcome by the water of亥, and neither the nobleman nor the禄 deity appears, so official rank is not auspicious. For seeking wealth, due to reverse chant, what is gained is lost again, and the gain does not compensate for the loss. For marriage, because the Azure Dragon and Heavenly Empress, the deities of male and female, are in mutual conflict, both male and female aspects are inauspicious.

Childbirth is considered with the Heavenly Empress as the mother and Liu He as the child, with mother and child conflicting and clashing. If divined during the day, childbirth is likely to occur easily. For illness, the condition involves alternating cold and heat, with no clear resolution. For travel, the divination indicates a "Cutting the Gate" lesson, with the Azure Dragon riding the Post-horse, resulting in constant movement without rest. If a traveler is involved, the Tiangang is placed on the position of the four seasons, indicating the traveler will arrive soon. For lost items, since the Black Tortoise overpowers the Day Stem, it is definitely stolen. Regarding thieves, all three transmissions are Black Tortoises, which are gods of theft, and both the yang and yin spirits of the Day Branch also ride the Black Tortoise, called "thieves everywhere." Moreover, the thief god is riding the Azure Dragon with the Post-horse, making it difficult to catch. For military matters, since it is a Reverse Chant lesson, it is unfavorable for military campaigns.

The "Bifa Fu" says: When two noblemen are both restrained, it is difficult to seek help from them; if the first transmission is squeezed by upper and lower forces, one cannot control the matter oneself. The "Liu Ren Jing Yun" says: The fire of巳 is the official star of the metal of辛; now it is squeezed, meaning that one cannot control one's official position;巳 is also the growth of the metal of辛, and growth is like parents; parents also cannot control themselves. The "Zhaochan Miaoji" says: Heaven tends toward the northwest, and the sun and moon follow westward; the earth sinks toward the southeast, and rivers and seas flow there; the line between巳 and亥 is often lacking, effort is heavy but results are light, this is to inform you.

On the Xinsi day, the eighth arrangement: the stem is on the卯 (Mao) position.

This lesson has six patterns: Re-examination, Beheading, Encouraging Virtue, Incomplete; "Cutting the Wheel," with the卯 wood placed above the day stem, like using metal to cut wood to make a wheel, indicating that matters start fresh from the beginning; Disarray at the Beginning. The rhyme says: this lesson is the same as Cutting the Wheel. During the day, the White Tiger is present and the Ding spirit is hidden out; the day stem itself goes out and invites disaster from disarray at the beginning; once a凶 matter is set in motion, it cannot be stopped.

The卯 wood is placed upon the 辛 metal and initiates the transmission, forming the lesson pattern of Zhuo Lun. Although 卯 is the wealth star for 辛, during the day it is accompanied by Yuan Wu, indicating a certain loss or escape. The middle transmission falls into Kong Wang, forming the pattern of Zhéyāo. The final transmission is Dingchou, with the snake accompanying it during the day and the white tiger at night; the凶 trend is already uncontrollable. The 辛 metal then goes on its own to be placed upon the巳 fire, being burned and restrained by the巳 fire, which is called self-invoking chaos. Thus, misfortune naturally continues without end.

The interpretation says: wooden objects must be shaped with metal tools, so in all matters, one must start anew, first experiencing worry and then joy. The卯 wood is placed on the 辛 metal, which is called "wealth comes to me," so one should act quickly to take advantage of it; if delayed, the 戌 earth will be harmed by the 卯 wood. Moreover, 卯 wood represents wife and concubine, and during the day it is accompanied by the Black Tortoise, so there will certainly be financial loss due to wife and concubine matters. Someone asks: how can 戌 earth being placed on 巳 fire be considered as being harmed? Because the 辛 metal's Lodging Palace is in 戌, and what is actually harmed is the 辛 metal. Although 巳 fire can harm metal, it can also generate earth. Therefore, this divination result has both good and bad outcomes, and whether it is misfortune or fortune, everything is caused by oneself.

Heavenly Stems are placed on the亥 position with Tiangang, water energy flows above, indicating rain is certain. For the household, it seems there is income, but the卯 wealth is riding on the Black Tortoise, so in reality there is a loss. For official positions, the official star and the禄神 are not present, so it is feared that success is not achieved. For seeking wealth, since wealth comes to me, there is certainly some gain; but since wealth is riding on the Black Tortoise, there is also certain loss. For marriage, the卯 wood is combined with the辛, wealth comes to me, which is like the husband yielding to the wife, not a perfect match. For childbirth, since the heavenly stem and earthly branch mutually control each other, the prediction is not favorable. For illness, when the metal day meets the丁 god, it is feared that recovery is difficult. For travel, there is a wheel but no Post-horse, indicating a strong attachment to home and inability to move. For a traveler encountering Tiangang on the亥 position, he has not yet started his journey. For military affairs, a daytime divination indicates loss of property and attack, while a nighttime divination indicates weak military strength. For burial, with the丁 fire on the Storage position, it is not favorable.

The *Bi Fa Fu* says: When a day of metal meets the spirit of Ding, misfortune will arise; for a divination lesson where the three transmissions do not move, one should look back at the first transmission and the time of divination. Ancient divination records: In the year of Wushen, during the eleventh lunar month, with the month general of Yin added to the hour of You, the divination about the wife was made. The interpretation said: The day stem has passed over the day branch, indicating the husband yielding to the wife. The husband is older and the wife is younger (Mao is older than Xu), and the couple will remain together for nine years (the number of Si is four, and the number of Wu is five, totaling nine). By the eighth year (the number of Chou is eight), due to the reason of purchasing a burial ground (Chou is the burial ground, and Shen is the birth place), there will be discord with brothers (Shen is the same as the day stem, representing brothers, and Gou Chen is present above). The land is obtained but the person dies (Chou is the wealth of Mao wood, thus obtaining the land, but Chou contains Ding fire and White Tiger, leading to death). Currently, it indicates the loss of the wife, because a grinding stone is pressing on the eastern gate, and there will be another marriage (Mao is the eastern gate, and Shen is the grinding stone). All these predictions later came true.

On the Xinsi day, Ninth Division: The stem is on寅.

This lesson has three patterns: "Knowing One" (also called "Comparison and Use"), which refers to when there are multiple instances of贼克 in the four lessons, and the one with the same yin-yang relationship as the day stem is chosen for initiation, emphasizing uniqueness; "From Reform," which occurs when the three transmissions form the metal triad of Si-You-Chou; and "Cunning Boy," indicating improper relationships between men and women and frivolous behavior. The rhyme says: the White Tiger is positioned over Dingchou during the day, indicating certain misfortune; the禄神 falls into emptiness and meets fragmentation, meaning the family cannot be maintained.

The Middle Transmission's Chou earth is exactly where the spiritual force of the current ten-day period's Ding is attached. If it is divined at night with the Teng Snake, or during the day with the wealth star riding the White Tiger, no matter what is being divined, there will certainly be misfortune. In the house, the Azure Dragon and Liu He are riding the禄神, which is a good omen. However, since it meets with Kongwang and broken pieces, the house is likely to break down and the wealth is sure to be exhausted. Therefore, this household is not sustainable.

The interpretation states: From transformation and accompanied by a cunning youth, matters tend to undergo many changes; the initiating transmission is a fallen and empty禄神, so joyous events are merely empty names. In general, whatever is divined begins with emptiness and ends with reality. However, the middle transmission is the storage and the final transmission is the official ghost, while the丁神 transforms into the Teng Snake ghost. Thus, the good aspect becomes empty and the bad aspect becomes real. If a person's birth stem is酉 or if it is the middle of the eighth lunar month, divining about official position and salary may show favorable signs. If the divination is done in the daytime, the nobleman is present with the day stem, but unfortunately the禄神 has entered the storage.

Heavenly Stems are at the position of Zi, indicating rain. The Net mansion and Azure Dragon, along with Liu He, are all in Kongwang, so rain cannot form. The family appears prosperous on the outside but is actually in poor condition. For those born under the酉 branch, they will certainly achieve success in official positions. In seeking wealth, one can obtain help from a nobleman. In marriage, the son-in-law will be a distinguished guest, while the bride's family will have a reputation of generous dowry. In childbirth, the child will be noble and the mother will have a safe delivery. In illness, the person is strong but the illness is not real, and this is very auspicious in winter. In traveling, due to the presence of the Tiangang at the position of Ding, one will be constantly moving all day. A traveler encountering Tiangang at the position of four Clans and Ding being trapped by the Storage is certain to not return. In military matters, the visible ghosts are not to be feared, as the Heavenly General is riding the Black Tortoise and Heavenly Empress. However, the hidden ghosts are difficult to guard against, as the Heavenly General is riding the Teng Snake and White Tiger.

The *Bi Fa Fu* says: When the official star is located in the day branch, it indicates that the authority is not properly established; although the nobleman is seated in the heaven prison of the Chen or Xu positions, if it is located on the day stem, it can still be used; when the white tiger rides on the ghost arising from the ten-day cycle, the calamity is severe; when the three transmissions meet the墓 (burial) and enter the墓 again, one should distinguish between what is disliked and what is loved; if theLiu He (six harmonies) containInauspicious Sha (evil killing), it is like honey mixed with arsenic. The *Yu Cheng Ge* says: When Congkui (You) and the white tiger are both on the day stem and day branch, there is an indication of someone in the house mourning. It also says: When the three transmissions include theLiu He, it is suitable to go and request favors from others; when all the deities converge on the day stem, it indicates that people are coming to request from me. The *Zhi Zhang Fu* says: When the three transmissions are酉,丑, and巳, it is called 'sacrificing the knife,' and it will cause harm both near and far.

On the Xinsi day, Tenth Configuration: The stem is on the Chou position.

This lesson has two patterns: Re-examination and Original Womb. The rhyme says: The White Tiger and the Storage meet again with the Ding spirit, indicating hidden misfortunes are coming to invade; someone in the household will ruin the family and run away; only the nobleman appearing at night will genuinely help.

The White Tiger and the Storage are both present on the Day Stem, and this coincides with the Ding spirit of this ten-day period. Ding here is an invisible ghost, so it indicates an unseen misfortune coming in. The house is occupied by the metal of Sheng, and on Sheng there is the water of Hai. Hai is the declining phase of the metal of Xin, showing that there must be a wasteful and reckless person within the house. In the three transmissions, the metal of Sheng takes away wealth, and the water of Hai steals the energy of the Day Stem, which are not good signs. Only the final transmission, the wood of Yin, is the wife and wealth of Xin metal. It is occupied day and night by Tai Chang, which governs food, drink, and wealth, and by the nobleman, secretly supporting the metal of Xin. This is the real benefit. The invisible spirit opposite Tian Kong transforms into the Black Tortoise, indicating that thieves must be entering the house to harass.

The judgment states: The deity of the empty period in the house has initiated the transmission, indicating the dwelling is already empty and desolate. The storage and White Tiger are riding on the spirit of Ding, arriving at the day stem as malevolent influences, causing misfortune for people. Fortunately, the final transmission can act as a saving deity; at this time, it is appropriate to report to the nobleman. If the person's birth year and life stem are riding on auspicious deities, they can escape disaster and avoid worries.

Heavenly Stems: Jia, Yi, Bing, Ding, Wu, Ji, Geng, Xin, Ren, Gui Earthly Branches: Zi, Chou, Yin, Mao, Chen, Si, Wu, Wei, Shen, You, Xu, Hai Trigrams: Qian (Heaven), Dui (Lake), Li (Fire), Zhen (Thunder), Xun (Wind), Kan (Water), Gen (Mountain), Kun (Earth) Glossary: Travel = Xingchu Post-horse = Yimǎ Azure Dragon = Qinglong Tiangang = Tiangang (Chen) Final Transmission = Muchuan Nobleman = Guiren Lesson Pattern = Ketǐ Tai Chang = Taichang Heavenly Stems indicate that Tiangang points to the Chou position, and the Azure Dragon in the day has obtained water, which certainly means rain. For the home, since the Sheng and Hai in the house are all signs of decline and disorder, there will certainly be brothers or cousins who ruin the family business. For official rank, the Lesson Pattern is originally凶, but if it is changed to a divination about official position and wealth, it becomes auspicious. For seeking wealth, the Final Transmission is寅 wood riding on Tai Chang and Tianyi, indicating gaining wealth from a nobleman. For marriage, the male side is not good, and the female side is also not auspicious. For childbirth, encountering Tiangang added to Chou indicates a daughter with a rebellious and ill-tempered nature; the mother's side is empty, so the birth is easy and quick. For illness, it indicates pain in the spleen or abdomen, but the root of the illness is damage to the kidney meridian, leading to an inevitable death. For travel, going by land is very dangerous, and going by water is a waste of money. For a traveler, encountering Tiangang added to the fourth season position and the Post-horse riding the Azure Dragon means arrival soon. For military affairs, both the host and guest sides are dangerous, with no merit but only loss.

The Bi Fa Fu says: When the day stem is occupied by theTomb Spirit (mound spirit) and the White Tiger, do not use it to predict illness; when the White Tiger is riding on the ghost of the ten-day cycle, the calamity is severe. The San Che Yi Lian says: The month aversion, great sha, heavenly eye, mound spirit, and ding spirit, if they appear on the person's birth year or on the day stem and day branch, they indicate strange and ominous disasters; on the day of Xinsi, if the丑 (chou) appears on the day stem, and the question is asked in the tenth month, it is extremely dangerous. It also says: When the day's mound is occupied by a ghost and falls in the sixth position, it is called "Hù Mù" (Tiger Mound), and when used to predict illness, it indicates a hard lump inside the body; only when it falls on the empty position is there still a chance of treatment.

On the Xinsi day, the eleventh section: the heavenly stem is over the earthly branch Zi.

This lesson has four patterns: remote overcoming, shooting out; "emerging from three yang," the three transmissions proceed in order from寅 to辰 to午, ascending step by step, with yang energy rising gradually, like a golden carp leaping from the center of the waves; and intermediate transmission. The rhyme says: the wealth star that is overcome by shooting out actually helps the official ghost, fortunately there is子 water to save the situation; the soil in the day branch,未, is unwilling to yield, fortunately the wealth star寅 wood can be entrusted.

The remoterestrain of the wealth star by the shooting star fails to capture the辛 metal; instead, it goes on to nourish the final transmission's午 fire, which in turn harms the辛 metal day stem. Fortunately, the子 water comes to rescue, preventing the official ghost from causing trouble. The未 earth in the day branch is unwilling to accept this, wanting to harm the子 water, but fears the寅 wood of the day stem's hidden spirit and dare not act. More fortunately, the initiating transmission also comes to help, accumulating resources to resolve the trouble. Therefore, the寅 wood wealth star can be entrusted.

The interpretation states: There is a situation of shooting and intermittent transmission, indicating that the matters involved are all light and superficial, with misfortune and fortune arising from the sides. The hexagram indicates there is a middle obstruction and many difficulties and blockages. Furthermore, the day stem and day branch each ride upon the six harmful spirits, which also indicate a lack of harmony between the host and the guest.

The celestial mansions of Ji Xu (Winnowing Basket) which govern wind and Bi Xu (Net) which govern rain are riding on the hidden spirits of the day stem and day branch. The Tiangang is also present at the寅 position, indicating a situation of more wind than rain. The family residence is in a state where the person and the house mutually hinder each other, so how can auspiciousness be attracted? For official positions, the official star and nobleman are being overcome by the spirits above the day stem, and the day's fortune falls into emptiness, indicating an inauspicious omen for official matters. For seeking wealth, borrowing money from others to alleviate one's misfortune is still acceptable, but if asking whether one can gain wealth for oneself, it is likely that it cannot be obtained. For marriage, the man and woman mutually hinder each other, and this is not auspicious.

In matters of childbirth, mother and child mutually hinder each other, and the birth is not auspicious. For illness, there is a good doctor, so it will not reach a critical condition. If something is stolen, it is likely taken by a servant or maid. If the divination is done during the day, it refers to a servant; if at night, it refers to a maid. For travel, the person going out and the destination are not in harmony, and the post-horse does not appear, so the journey may not proceed. For a traveler, the person and the house are not in harmony and are harmful; the Tiangang falls on the four young months, and there is no post-horse, so the traveler will not return. In military affairs, it is a lesson of shooting, favorable to the guest side, and it is also auspicious at night.

The "Bi Fa Fu" says: mutual suspicion and hatred arise because of the six harmful influences; if there is another kongwang on top of kongwang, there is no need to pursue further. The "Liu Ren Mi Yao" says: if the water of zi is placed on the day stem of xin metal, it is the day stem's loss of energy, and if it is also accompanied by tian kong, it becomes the "tuo kong shen," and whatever is divined will be something imagined out of nothing, with no real substance. It also says: if the day stem is zi and the day branch is wei, the heavenly stem and earthly branch form the six harmful influences, indicating that both parties are suspicious of each other. The "Kuo Nang Fu" says: the six harmful spirits accompanied by tai chang will cause the elders and ancestors to doubt and be surprised by every action. The "Zhi Zhang Fu" says: the three transmissions of yin, chen, and wu are called the three yang, like a golden carp leaping out of the water's center.
