On the Jichou day, sixth arrangement: stem on寅 (Tiger)
Charting guides: Da Liu Ren Chart Calculator, Jin Kou Jue Chart
The lesson pattern is determined as "Chong Shen," "Zhuo Lun," "Si Jue," and "Luo Wang." "Zhuo Lun" refers to the image of a hammer cutting and shaping a cart wheel, which requires refinement to become a useful tool; "Si Jue" means that all four lessons are in the position of absolute decline; "Luo Wang" indicates that the three transmissions form a ghostly pattern that encircles the person. The lesson meaning states that the two layers of wood energy from寅 and卯 bring continuous misfortunes; during the night, the nobleman enters the family residence, driving away calamities and bringing blessings. The explanation says that寅 is placed on the day stem, and卯 begins the first transmission, with both layers of wood energy attacking the body, causing continuous misfortunes, which seem unavoidable. Fortunately, the night nobleman is in申 and arrives at丑, the family residence, using it to control寅 and卯 and support the己 earth. Thus, calamities are driven away and blessings are brought about. The official ghost assists the final transmission in benefiting the day stem, which is called "leading the ghost to benefit the self," indicating a transition from misfortune to good fortune. If this is divined in the daytime, the curtain nobleman is on the day branch, and it is also beneficial for scholars.
This is a卦 of re-examination, with a structure matching that of "chopping the wheel." It indicates that one will first experience some difficulties before achieving success. The卯 wood is like a wheel, placed on申 metal represents a斧 head cutting and shaping. More importantly, the戌 earth serves as the official seal, and the White Tiger hastens official position. When the day is earth day, it is called "flowing transfer." Officials encountering this are very auspicious, but ordinary people are not suitable.
Heavenly Time: During the day, the divination indicates rain; at night, it indicates wind. Family Affairs: A person in the family will certainly pass the imperial examination and achieve success, with a flagpole erected in front of the door. Marriage: No success. Pregnancy and Childbirth: Not advisable. Official Rank: Very auspicious, one should pursue the proper path. Seeking Wealth: Not obtainable. Visiting Officials: Not yet settled. Illness: Highly inauspicious; at night, the White Tiger occupies the卯 wood official ghost, indicating the image of a coffin. Loss and Theft: Lost items have gone far. Travel: Going to take office is auspicious. Travelers: On the way, or encountering a funeral vehicle, or traveling with a high-ranking official. Disputes: Great worries. Warfare: Should be cautious. Burial: The parents' yao (line) rides on the White Tiger during the day and sits on the tomb, indicating white ants in the parents' graves.
The "Bifa Fu" states: The one who can subdue the official ghost is the good physician; when ordinary inquiries meet auspicious signs, they often fail to materialize. The "Liu Ren Zhi Nan" records: In the year of Gengwu, using the寅 general, there was a county magistrate who divined for someone after a court audience with the emperor. The divination resulted in the "Zhuo Lun" lesson, with the day stem bearing the heavenly official and moral virtue, yet sitting on Kongwang and Muku, with the hidden spirit酉 metal controlling it. There must be covert attacks, and he would not enter the Hanlin Academy or the Ministry of Personnel. The卯 wood official star, riding the Black Tortoise, issued the first transmission; the middle transmission, riding the Vermilion Bird, indicated official remonstrance; the final transmission, riding the White Tiger, signified swift action. He would certainly enter the Ducha Yuan. Later, he was promoted successively to the Grand Censor and appointed as the governor of the eastern region. The house's grandson yao rode the curtain and nobleman, also serving as the growth academy, indicating a noble son, entering the Hanlin Academy through the imperial examination, and all these predictions were fulfilled.
On the Jichou day, seventh arrangement: the stem is on the earthly branch of Chou.
The lesson pattern is determined as "Reverse Chant," "No Kinship," and "Lasciviousness." Reverse Chant refers to a situation where the Heaven Plate and Earth Plate are in constant opposition, with their movements reversed. No Kinship means that among the four lessons, there is no instance of mutual control, and nothing can be relied upon. Lasciviousness refers to improper conduct in matters of intimacy. The lesson meaning states that丑 and 未 are coming together, with the旬丁 and the Post-horse arriving at the same time. If action is taken, wealth can be obtained; but if one remains stationary, there is no benefit. Explanation: The day stem and day branch's upper and lower positions only move between 丑 and 未, meeting only in these two positions. Only 亥 starts the first transmission, which is both the wealth element of the己 day and the旬丁 combined with the Post-horse. If one moves along with the three transmissions, wealth can be obtained; but if one remains fixed at the stem and branch without movement, the 丑 and 未 continue to interact internally and externally, resulting in no actual movement or progress, and ultimately no benefit.
This is a卦 with reverse chant and no close affinity. Taking the癸 water hidden in the丑, it remotely shoots towards the丙 fire in the巳 palace. Thus, the first transmission is issued by the亥 god above the巳. It is like a person leaning against a well's rim shooting diagonally inward, ultimately unable to go beyond the well's mouth. This indicates obstruction between upper and lower, mutual anxiety and suspicion. Going the proper way is difficult to be accepted, but seeking from the side is easier to accomplish. One person acting in two ways, movement is suitable, but stillness is disturbed. The final transmission sits on the empty void, real matters are worn down, and false alarms also dissipate.
Heavenly conditions: frequent rain, stopping and starting. Home: not peaceful, or there may be a marriage, or there may be worries about private relationships between men and women. Marriage: mutual coming and going, but beware of not following proper etiquette. Career: repeated efforts and worries, perhaps ultimately not achieving success. Seeking wealth: one should set out to obtain it, or there may be actions related to the wife's wealth. Disease: illness arises from wealth and desires, recurring and unstable; sudden illness may be resolved, but long-term illness is not auspicious. Loss: there is no need to search, and those who have run away should not be pursued. Travel: indecisive, ultimately not able to go. Traveler: seems close, but then goes away. Disputes: back and forth, eventually resolved. Warfare: no benefit.
The "Bifa Fu" says: When the Heavenly Empress combines with Liu He to predict marriage matters, there is no need for a matchmaker; if both ends come and go and fall into Kongwang, there is no talk of movement. The "Zhiyao" says: The three transmissions formed by shooting the well frame indicate that affairs are difficult to succeed and prone to failure; even if encountering auspicious deities, only half of the wishes can be fulfilled. It also says: Those that are unstable indicate two symptoms for illness. The "Zhonghuang Jing" says: Liu He is usually a good general for auspiciousness and smoothness; if it rides on the positions of巳 or亥, then one should expect to travel far away. The "Shenjiang Lun" says: Dengming, the water of亥, riding on Liu He indicates a child, because wood begins its growth at亥; if it rides on Teng Snake, it indicates crying.
On the Jichou day, the eighth arrangement: the stem is on the child branch.
The lesson pattern is determined as "Zhi Yi", "Zhu Yin", and "Li De": "Zhu Yin" refers to the image of melting metal with巳 fire to cast an official seal, indicating the appointment or transfer of official positions. The lesson meaning states: first there is mutual conflict, then mutual attack; after mutual interaction, there is benefit; the final transmission supports the initial transmission in benefiting the day stem, like arsenic hidden in honey. Explanation: The day stem and day branch, such as Zi and Wu, Chou and Wei, are in opposition; meanwhile, Zi and Wei, Wu and Chou, are in mutual harm between the heavenly stem and earthly branch, forming the image of first conflict then mutual attack. Wu and Wei combine to benefit the day stem, and Zi and Chou combine to form the wealth trigram, indicating mutual exchange and benefit. The final transmission, which is卯 wood, supports the initial transmission,巳 fire, in benefiting the day stem, sweet like honey; yet卯 wood directly attacks the day stem, poisonous like arsenic—thus, generation and destruction are interdependent.
The interpretation: This is a divination using the Know One hexagram, indicating that the matter has two threads. One must distinguish between what is the same and what is different, abandoning the distant for the near, and the distant for the close. Trust can give rise to suspicion, and affection may lead to resentment. The pattern is called Casting Seal, and it also includes the title of Riding in a State Coach. Common people who divinate this will find it unsuitable, but officials who see it will find it very auspicious. However, theThe Post-horse andLiu He are unfortunate, sitting in the empty and lost place, so they are not truly of the proper pattern. It is only suitable when divined in midsummer May.
Heavenly conditions: Zi and Hai are both in Kongwang, often showing signs of rain and wind but failing to produce actual rain. Family dwelling: For those born into an official family, the dwelling falling in Kongwang is actually auspicious; for ordinary people, it indicates misfortune, causing harm to wife and wealth. Marriage: Unfavorable. Pregnancy: The fetal energy is weak; if the divination is about childbirth, the child will be born shortly. Official rank: This is a great auspicious sign, but it is regrettable that both the nobleman and the official's luck fall in Kongwang. It is best to divinate in May or June. Seeking wealth: The gain will be slight. Seeking an audience: Good intentions may lead to annoyance. Illness: Dangerous, especially if the divination concerns the wife's illness. Loss: Difficult to recover. Travel: Suitable for taking up an official position, but not beneficial for other travel. Traveler: Will certainly return. Dispute: Hard to resolve; patience and yielding are advisable. Warfare: Unfavorable, difficult at first but easier later.
The *Bifa Fu* says: If someone is acting in an official capacity but their position is not properly established, look at the禄神 (favorable deity) located in the day branch. If there is mutual suspicion, look at the six harmful influences following. The *Ke Jing* says: If the nobleman (贵人) appears in the day's self position during the day, and the Vermilion Bird (朱雀) rides on the戌 earth branch to overcome it, this is called the "Nobleman's Caution Pattern." In such a case, approaching the nobleman to report matters is ineffective. The *Xiu Zhong Jin* says: Casting an official seal indicates the image of official rank, salary, promotion, and appointment. If the Tai Yin and Heavenly Horse are not present, it is not a true pattern. Common people may suffer misfortune because of this, and their affairs will be slow and inefficient.
On the Jichou day, ninth division: stem on Hai.
The lesson pattern is determined as "Involvement of Harm" and "Metallurgical Transformation." The lesson meaning states: the tenth heavenly stem and the post-horse are carrying the wealth element to come, and the three transmissions form a circle to generate it again; speaking out immediately brings gain, while keeping silent avoids disaster. Explanation: the water in the hour亥 is the wealth element of the day stem己. The tenth heavenly stem and the post-horse are carrying it, and it is placed upon the day stem. The three transmissions form a metal circle to generate this wealth. The酉 belongs to the category of mouth and tongue, so as soon as one speaks, the benefit of generating wealth is obtained. The final transmission巳 is the last in this ten-day cycle. During the day it is ridden by the white tiger and at night by the black tortoise, pressing upon the house. Therefore, one must keep silent to avoid disaster.
This is a卦 of involvement and harm, and it forms a situation of transformation and metal. There are many obstacles in the matter, and one must use great ingenuity in the mind. The first transmission comes from the upper god of the four beginning months, indicating hesitation and indecision, with repeated changes. The third transmission, if it has energy, will promote change; if it lacks energy, it will lead to failure in change. When酉 is placed on巳, it is called "grief lesson." Adding the heavenly general results in the Heavenly Empress and the Black Tortoise, which leak the golden energy of that situation, hence called "transformation of metal but not completed"; even if theLiu He is obtained, it indicates an intention to act but failure to act.
Heavenly Conditions: There is mostly dry wind, though there is some rain, but it is not heavy. Family Residence: The residence is in a state of emptiness and loss, with aInauspicious General (malevolent general) bringing an image of closure pressing upon the house, indicating disaster that cannot be expressed. Marriage: Not suitable. Pregnancy and Childbirth: TheFetal Spirit (fetus spirit) is seated in the position ofGrowth (growth), so the fetal energy is stable but childbirth is dangerous. Achieving Fame and Status: Unfavorable, do not take private routes, which will result in unnecessary loss. Seeking Wealth: There will be initial expenses followed by repayment; it is suitable to collect old debts. Disease: The illness is located in the lungs and there is weakness in the tendons and bones, but it is not serious. Loss and Theft: The loss occurs in a joyful occasion, or it is caused by a servant or maid. Traveling: There will be fright and high expenses. Traveler's Arrival: The traveler will arrive soon. Disputes: There will be continuous disturbances and worries; it is suitable to use money to plead and seek favor. Military Conflict: Unfavorable.
The "Bifa Fu" says: If the nobleman appears at both day and night, one can seek help from both noblemen simultaneously. The "Ke Jing" says: For a metal formation, one must first release the energy of the day stem, then let the wealth hexagram return to nourish the day stem, which is called "taking back the soul debt." The "Gu Jian" records: When using the寅 general to find lost items, the酉 is placed as the first transmission, and the class god of酉 is a woman, belonging to the category of gold hairpins; since酉 is placed on the巳, which is the place of growth, it does not fall into kongwang, and forms a triple harmony of metal, so the item was not lost, but was found in the stove ashes. The "Zhi Zhang Fu" says: The three transmissions of酉, 丑, and巳 are called "presenting the blade," and both near and far people will be harmed by it.
On the day of Jichou, the tenth layout: the stem is on the戌 position.
The lesson pattern is determined as "昴星" (昴 Star), "二烦" (Two Troubles), and "励德" (Encouraging Virtue): "二烦" refers to both heaven and earth being troubled, with the middle god added and causing confusion and disorder. The lesson meaning states: the three marvels and昴 star appear at the same time; during the day, the divination encounters both theft and punishment. The Hekui and Tiangang appear together, and once movement begins, it cannot be stopped. Explanation: the昴 star lesson uses the method of looking downward. The first transmission is obtained as Wu. The middle and final transmissions are derived from the upper gods of the day stem and branch. On the sixth day, using the original retreat method, we get Jiaxu, Wuchen, and Gengwu, which exactly match the pattern of the three marvels on the earth. During the day, the initiating transmission god falls into an empty position and meets an empty position. The middle transmission,戌 earth, is riding on the Vermilion Bird and added to the day stem, which certainly leads to theft and loss.戌 earth is in self-punishment with the day stem己 earth, and丑 also punishes戌.辰 and午 are also self-punishing. In the lesson and transmissions, the Hekui and Tiangang appear together, indicating extraordinary action that cannot be stopped.
This is a hexagram of winter snake covering its eyes, indicating darkness and confusion, with no clear basis for advancement or retreat. Although the noon (午) is placed on the卯, which is called "Bright Hall," indicating prosperity and turning misfortune into good fortune, the noon is actually in the旬空, and the first transmission is initiated by Guchen. Therefore, in most divinations, there is more emptiness than reality, benefiting only monks, Taoists, and practitioners. Moreover, although the three marvels are good on the ground, their initiating transmission falls into emptiness, causing damage to the essence of the marvels' energy and a sudden decrease in fortune. This situation is also marked by the heavens and earth being troubled, and it actually prefers the initiating transmission to fall into emptiness and the middle god to have no vitality, thus the calamity will be dispelled.
Heavenly conditions: Seeking clear weather results in cloudy skies, seeking rain results in strong winds. Home affairs: There will be disputes over land and property, and there is a risk of fire accidents in the first, fifth, and ninth months. Marriage: Not suitable for discussion, and if discussed, it will not succeed. Pregnancy: There is a fear that the fetal deity is located in a place of death and decline, which is unfavorable. Achievements: Although there may be unexpected opportunities, they will not lead to actual results, and one should also be cautious of sabotage by peers. Seeking wealth: Much labor with little gain. Illness: Indicates spleen disease with internal heat, sudden illness is not serious, but chronic illness is dangerous. Loss: Difficult to recover. Travel: There will be worries and difficulties, but amidst the difficulties there is also some joy. Travelers: There will be a letter arriving first. Disputes: Public matters will be clear and evident, but private actions will be disadvantageous, leading to disputes over land and property. Warfare: Unfavorable. Burial: The grave site will have much empty land, or strange occurrences may occur, or disputes may arise.
The "Bifa Fu" says: When a person of high status encounters the Three Marvels within the three transmissions, it is most precious; if there is another Kongwang above Kongwang, there is no need to pursue further. The "Xiu Zhong Jin" says: This hexagram is like a snake in hibernation, hidden and stored, with eyes closed and motionless; the matter is mostly concealed internally, and people tend to be hesitant and fearful. The "Zhi Zhang Fu" says: The昴star lesson is like two tigers facing each other, with one looking down and the other looking up, predicting distant and near dangers. This refers to the killing qi reaching the You position and being most intense, with yin and yang not attacking each other, and messages can only be obtained from the utmost yin.
On the Jichou day, the eleventh section: the heavenly stem is over You.
The lesson pattern is determined as "Yuan Shou," "Jian Chuan," and "Ying Yang." Yuan Shou refers to the case where among the four lessons there is only one instance of an upper element overcoming a lower one, and the initiating transmission is taken from that lesson. Ying Yang refers to the three transmissions moving from east to south through the branches of卯, 巳, and 未, following the rising yang energy. The lesson meaning states: in a defeated position, there is hidden evil; the卯 wood enters the family dwelling; there is external collusion and internal connection; both the day and night noblemen are disturbed beyond endurance. Explanation: the己 earth is defeated by酉, and酉 is above the day stem. In the ten-day cycle, it transforms into the乙 wood official ghost, which is extremely evil. TheXinmao enters the family dwelling and initiates the first transmission, both releasing and overcoming; it is also the official ghost of the己 day, emerging from the dwelling, which is called external collusion and internal connection. The day nobleman falls into captivity, and the night nobleman is also restrained, causing both noblemen to be greatly disturbed, and the day stem is certain to become angry.
This is the卦 of the sovereign, where the noble side subdues the humble side. The matter is initiated by a man, proceeding with integrity and clarity, favorable for taking the initiative. However, an external deity overcomes the internal, and the day stem encounters leakage, loss, and decline, indicating conflict between host and guest, an inharmonious situation. It is necessary to act according to reason to avoid regret and misfortune.
Heavenly Weather: Wind comes first, then thunder and lightning, and rain comes late. Family: Both people and the house suffer losses, be careful of children going missing or being lost. Marriage: Not suitable. Pregnancy: The fetal god is sitting on the day stem's tomb, causing instability in the fetal energy. Achieving fame: It can be obtained, but be careful of failure due to private connections. Seeking wealth: It is mainly consumed by illness and legal disputes. Seeking an audience: It is not harmonious, be careful of angering the nobleman. Disease: There are ghosts causing trouble, it is suitable to spend money to appease them. Loss: Things cannot be found. Travel: Not favorable, but it is favorable for secret planning to escape. Traveler: Still far away. Dispute: Be careful of someone inciting from inside and outside, do not rely on power. Warfare: Unfavorable during the day, favorable for a great victory at night.
The "Bifa Fu" says: When two noblemen are both restrained, it is difficult to rely on them; when the Tiangang blocks the ghost's entrance, one may freely plan. The "Zhipang Fu" says: The three transmissions of卯, 巳, and 未 are called "Yingyang," like the phoenixes and cranes calling on a high hill, so matters should be handled quickly; any delay will lose momentum. The "Lunin Zhi Nan" records: In the year Jiashen, fifth lunar month, at the hour of Wu, there was a large halo around the sun, and everyone regarded it as a good omen, so they used the hour of Wu as the main time to divinate this hexagram. The Black Tortoise issued the first transmission, which both restrained the day stem and the day branch; the day stem, being the position of the emperor, was riding on a declining energy; the day branch, being the state's foundation, encountered the Death Deity; the year's master was located in the direction of decline, and the nobleman fell into a place of humiliation—how could this be considered a good omen? Later, it indeed came true.
On the Jichou day, the twelfth division: the stem is on Sheng.
The lesson pattern is identified as "Yuan Shou," "Jin Ru," "Luo Wang," and "Zheng He." "Jin Ru" refers to the three transmissions progressing in order, like pulling out a reed and pulling others along. "Zheng He" refers to the combination of Yin, Mao, and Chen, which are all in the eastern direction, forming a harmonious and proper pattern. The lesson meaning states that all three transmissions come to overcome the day stem; during the night, the nobleman is in a favorable position, as if receiving divine protection; it is favorable for questioning about official rank. Explanation: Yin, Mao, and Chen are also called the wood trinity, and all three transmissions are the official ghosts of the day stem, coming with great force. Fortunately, the nobleman in the night is in Shen, where metal can control wood, and this nobleman is placed upon the day stem, thus blocking the official ghosts and protecting the day stem, as if receiving the protection of a favorable deity. Common people who receive this pattern encounter trouble but find salvation; however, officials who receive this pattern indicate high virtue and prominent official position, with the nobleman who generates them present on themselves, which is favorable and suitable for all matters.
This is a卦 of the sovereign, with the three transmissions following in sequence and advancing continuously. All three transmissions are official stars, and the nobleman often appears with the day stem; the day virtue falls on the house and manifests as the useful god. This indicates a family of loyalty and filial piety accumulating good deeds, which will bring joy and honor through academic success. It is especially favorable in spring. For ordinary people, one should beware of legal disputes and verbal conflicts, or illness invading. Even if there is a saving god present, one should still be cautious in all matters.
Heavenly Conditions: There are frequent wind troubles, and only with rain will the troubles be removed. Home: The Vermilion Bird overpowers the house, so beware of fire, illness, or lawsuits. Marriage: The Heavenly Empress overpowers the Azure Dragon, and the Day Stem overpowers the Day Branch, indicating that the marriage talk will not succeed, and even if it does, it will be disadvantageous. Pregnancy: The branch You is placed on Zi, forming the 'Abdominal Pregnancy Pattern'. Career: Divination for exams suggests success, but for officialdom, one should be cautious. Seeking Wealth: Hard work leads to little gain. Illness: The household's ghostly spirits are causing trouble; it is advisable to perform rituals and pray to deities. Loss: The loss may be due to a celebration or banquet, or it may be stolen by a servant. Travel: It is advisable to visit a nobleman. Traveler: The traveler is about to arrive, but there will be obstacles on the way. Dispute: One must rely on others to mediate to avoid trouble. Warfare: One should be cautious.
The "Bifa Fu" says: Most plans are clumsy and fall into traps; if the official ghost is present in the third or fourth lesson, lawsuits and misfortunes will follow one after another; although many ghosts are apparent, there is no need to be afraid. The "Ke Jing" says: If the official ghost is on the day branch and is led into the ghost's territory, it is like one's own ghost capturing one's own family, and it relies entirely on the food god on the day stem to save the situation; however, there must first be a dangerous situation, and only then can one gradually become fearless. If the food god is indeed the nobleman, then one can surely rely on the nobleman's help. The "Zhipang Fu" says: The three transmissions of寅, 卯, and 辰 are called "Zheng He," which allows one to implement state strategies and enjoy the grace of bathing.
On the Gengyin day, the first arrangement: the stem is on the Shaen.
The lesson pattern is determined as "Hidden Chant," "Self-Responsibility," "Original Fetus," and "Six Instruments." "Self-Responsibility" refers to a hidden chant on an odd day, indicating that all matters can only be shouldered by oneself. "Original Fetus" means that all four lessons and three transmissions belong to the first quarter of the months, like the initial formation of fetal energy. "Six Instruments" refers to the deity of the first day of the ten-day period initiating the transmission, acting as the master of the ten-day cycle. The lesson meaning states that the禄神 (favorable deity) andThe Post-horse (post-horse) are both accompanying the body, with two White Tigers appearing together on the person. Officials may achieve the highest position, while common people may suffer misfortune because of this. Explanation: Shen is both the virtue deity and禄神 of Geng day, and it is accompanied by the post-horse, appearing on the body and initiating the first transmission. The middle transmission is Teng Snake emerging, and the final transmission is Gou Chen holding the seal, which is a great omen for officials. Since Shen itself belongs to the Tiger, and considering the context of holding an official position, two Tigers entering the court indicate a powerful and prominent status, surely leading to a top rank. Common people cannot bear such an atmosphere, and they will certainly face legal troubles and lawsuits.
The interpretation is: this is a Hidden Chant self-assumed hexagram, with the four lessons and three transmissions all belonging to the first month. The structure conforms to the original embryo. It is latent and has not yet been activated, concealed and not yet clear. It is quiet and appropriate to maintain stillness; any movement would lead to obstruction. If a gentleman can uphold the right path and cultivate virtue, he should encounter the auspiciousness of both official and horse accompanying him and the favorable use of the ten-day cycle, thus attaining wealth, honor, prominence, and being appointed, achieving unparalleled success. However, for an ordinary person without virtue, it would instead lead to calamity and misfortune.
Heavenly conditions: rain and wind will come at any time. For the household: the day stem and day branch are in the state of mutual defeat, it is advisable to exchange houses with others. For marriage: it is not suitable to divinate during the day, but suitable during the night. For pregnancy: if divined in spring, the fetal condition is stable; if divined in summer, there is a need to prevent injury. For official rank: the literary path leads to success and honor, the military path leads to achievements and returning home in glory, but those who are impetuous and act recklessly will have an inauspicious outcome. For seeking wealth: there will be great gains, but be cautious of losses due to illness or legal disputes, or being taken by brothers. For illness: divining during the day is very inauspicious, especially for those with long-term illness, the elderly, and children. For lost items: they can be recovered, and those who have run away will certainly be captured. For travel: everything will go as desired. For a traveler: there will be a letter first, and the person is on the way and will arrive soon. For disputes: it is inauspicious, wait quietly for the party that moves first to win. For warfare: there will be no peace during day or night.
The "Bifa Fu" says: If a self-reliant and self-confident divination includes the ten-day stem Ding and the post-horse, it should be interpreted as indicating movement. When the host and guest do not align, observe the criminal god falling on the upper god. The "Ke Jing" states: In aHidden Chant lesson where the chariot and its opposite conflict, regardless of close or distant relations, it indicates first union then separation; sons, spouses, hosts, guests, and brothers all follow this pattern. The "Xiu Zhong Jin" says: On寅 day, using申 and巳, any divination indicates punishment combined with union, achieving somewhat, and travel is feasible.
On the Gengyin day, the second arrangement: the stem is on the hexagram of Wei.
The lesson pattern is identified as "Zhi Yi" and "Tui Ru." The lesson meaning states: the nobleman of the night buries himself in the tomb, and the nobleman of the day buries the courtyard in the tomb; although the three transmissions belong to water, they conceal two Bing and one Ding. Explanation: the earth branch Wei is occupied by the nobleman of the night, and Wei is originally the tomb of the day stem寅; now it covers over the day stem. The earth branch Chou is occupied by the nobleman of the day, and Chou is originally the tomb of the day stem庚; now it covers over the day branch. They interact to form a tomb, and both noblemen are hindered. The three transmissions Zi, Hai, and Xu are also called the water pattern; although water can control the official ghost of the day stem庚, it also drains the energy of the day stem. Moreover, the ten-day cycle reveals Bing Zi, Bing Xu, and Ding Hai, with two Bing and one Ding, all belonging to hidden official ghosts. If one is suspicious that the support for the day stem is ineffective and acts recklessly, disaster is certain to follow.
This is a卦 of knowledge and understanding. It drains the day stem and benefits the day branch, indicating affection mixed with harm, and harmony accompanied by conflict. There are two lessons where the lower deity harms the upper deity, both occurring within the house, indicating disputes over wife and money, being cursed and slandered, and lacking peace. Moreover, the three chen positions are in reverse order, connected in sequence, leading to complications beyond the main issue, with a pattern of first retreating and then advancing. Fortunately, the odd deity of the day stem is present on the day stem itself, and the odd deity of the ten-day period issues from the first transmission, which is a favorable sign of linked pearls, capable of secretly resolving disasters and unexpectedly gaining blessings.
Heavenly Conditions: There will be prolonged periods of cloudy weather and heavy rain. Family Residence: The master is dull and lacks understanding, the house is also in disrepair and decay, or it is being consumed by descendants leading to misfortune; also, the branch of Chou is added to the branch of Yin, and during the night, the Heavenly General is in the sky, indicating that the beast's head on the roof ridge will fall down. Achievements: Scholars may have unusual encounters, while officials may be promoted beyond normal standards due to exceptional performance. Seeking Wealth: The gains will be very small. Seeking Favor: During the day, the divination shows harmony and beauty, but during the night, the divination indicates that talks will not reach an agreement. Illness: Daji (Chou earth) is added to the branch of Yin, and the day stem and day branch mutually enter the tomb, leading to a state of confusion and blockage, which is not auspicious. Losses: The loss may be in the nearby neighborhood, or it may be stolen by descendants. Traveling: There will be much expenditure, and one should also beware of hidden losses. Travelers: The traveler will remain still for a long time. Disputes: During the night, one should beware of being judged as wrong even though one is clearly right. Military Conflict: There will be unrest.
The *Bifa Fu* says: If Kongwang appears again on top of Kongwang, there is no need to pursue further; if both day nobleman and night nobleman are present together, one can seek help from both noblemen at the same time; if both the day stem and day branch are in their墓 position, both sides are unclear and confused. The *Guan Jingxue* says: On the days of the four beginnings—Lichun, Lixia, Liqiu, and Lidong—look at the heavenly stem on the day. If it clearly has the general of the previous solar term's end, it is called the "Heavenly Misfortune Hexagram," which indicates mutual discord and mutual harm. For example, on the day of Lixia, if it is a day of Geng, the previous day belongs to Si, which is the end of the wood energy. The Si hexagram falls on Wei, and if on a Geng day, the day stem has Xiaoji (Wei earth), this is called the end energy appearing on top.
On the Gengyin day, third section, the stem is in the morning.
The lesson pattern is determined as "涉害" (involvement in harm), "间传" (intermediate transmission), "顾祖" (looking back to ancestors), and "励德" (encouraging virtue). "顾祖" refers to the final transmission returning to support the initial transmission, like descendants looking back to their ancestors. The lesson meaning states: worries are merely superficial and do not take effect; relying on past support is ineffective; if one gathers wealth, the calamity will be particularly severe. Explanation: The fire of the fifth heavenly stem is the official ghost of the day stem of geng, appearing on the day stem and issuing the first transmission, which is very concerning. Fortunately, it is in the empty period, thus being empty and not real. One should abandon it and rely instead on the middle transmission, the earth of chen, to support and sustain, as if having a support. However, chen is also in the empty ghost region and cannot help. Therefore, one must go to the final transmission and necessarily take the wood of yin as wealth. However, during the day, yin is occupied by the fire of teng snake, causing great harm, how can one not be cautious?
This is a卦 of involvement in harm, indicating many difficulties and hardships. Frequently encountering troubles, one is caught between difficulties. The final transmission assists the first transmission to overcome the day stem, suggesting that someone is causing harm and damage. Fortunately, Guchen originates from the first transmission, meaning those who trouble me are powerless. Although there is disturbance and worry, it will soon vanish. The nobleman is present at the卯 and酉 positions, indicating the image of high officials being promoted and minor officials being dismissed.
Heavenly conditions: If predicting clear weather, it will be clear but not for long; if predicting rain, it will be difficult to get rain. Family residence: Both people and the house mutually weaken each other, and both are in a position of decline, so there will certainly be a decline. Marriage: Unauspicious. Pregnancy: TheFetal Spirit is sitting in the position of growth, so predicting the fetus is safe, but predicting childbirth is unfavorable. Achieving fame and status: If divined during the middle of summer on a daytime, taking office will bring honor. Seeking wealth: Wealth comes slowly, be careful of disasters caused by wealth. Disease: The day stem and day branch mutually multiply the death deity, which is very凶. Loss and theft: The lost items are inside the house. Traveling: Not advisable. Travelers: Not yet arrived. Disputes: Do not advise to expose others' secrets, definitely causing oneself to be implicated and suffer punishment. Warfare: Should be cautious.
The "Bifa Fu" says: The one that can subdue the official ghost is the good physician; if both the day stem and day branch are in a losing position, the situation will inevitably decline. The "Ke Jing" says: Although the final transmission supports the first transmission, the first transmission falls into kongwang, fails to overcome the day stem, and the final transmission forms an enmity in vain, which is called "Bao Nan Bu Dou Ge." The "Liu Ren Zhi Nan" records: In the year of Wuchen, use the zi general to divinate matters concerning the court's recommendation of ministers. When court officials receive the Gu Zu Ge, they are mostly not appointed for the full term. Moreover, if both the first and middle transmissions fall into kongwang, the azure dragon turns into the teng snake, the dragon god then overcomes his virtue god and禄 god, not only failing to attain high office, but also certainly suffering punishment due to excessive ambition. Later, indeed, a Minister of Rites was not selected in the court's recommendation, and then was dismissed from office and sent back to his hometown.
