課體：重審，間傳，勵德，龍戰。課義：晝夜貴聚，事無憑據，本身力弱，占病深慮。

This lesson's "Lesson Pattern" is "Re-examination," combined with "Intermittent Transmission," "Encouraging Virtue," and "Dragon Struggle." The four-character "Lesson Meaning" states: both daytime and nighttime dignitaries gather in the chart, yet this makes the matter uncertain; the Day Stem itself is weak, and if it relates to illness, there is deep concern.

解曰：夜貴被克，晝貴空亡，雖入用傳，不得其力。況貴多則事不歸一，貴人不救病。丁火死於酉，本身力弱，所以深可慮也。末助初財，遍地貴人，反無依據。酉財晝雀夾克，中末空亡，用破傳空，身心不利。如用夜貴，名咄目煞，乃貴人咄目專視，反坐罪也。

At night, the nobleman is overcome, and during the day, the nobleman falls into kongwang. Although the two noblemen have entered the first transmission, they cannot provide support. Moreover, when there are many noblemen, the authority of the matter is not unified; and noblemen are not responsible for curing illness. The fire of ding is in you, which is in a state of death and extinction, and the day stem itself is weak, so the illness is deeply concerning. The final transmission brings a wealth hexagram that supports the first transmission, but the whole chart is full of noblemen, and there is no place to rely on. The wealth of you metal is attacked by the vermilion bird of the day from both sides, and the middle and final transmissions are all in kongwang. The useful god is broken, and the three transmissions fall into kongwang, which is disadvantageous to both body and mind. If we take the night nobleman as the useful god, it is called "duo mu sha" — the nobleman stares at you with eyes wide open, and instead, you will be punished.

斷曰：此極陰之卦，事見冥濛。酉為閉口，又遭夾克，心跡難明，告貴不允。又卦名龍戰，事主進退逡巡，疑惑不定。若積德之家，自致安寧。倘生妄求，必成災悔。

This is the hexagram of "Extreme Yin," indicating that matters are in a state of confusion and obscurity. The metal of You is the god who closes his mouth, and it is further constrained by pressure from both front and back. One's thoughts cannot be clearly expressed, and one's actions cannot be clearly explained. Even when appealing to the nobleman, one will not be granted an audience. This hexagram is also known as "Dragon Strife," indicating that matters are hesitant and indecisive, with back and forth hesitation and uncertainty. If it is a family that has accumulated virtue and goodness, it will naturally return to peace and tranquility. But if there is an improper and excessive desire, it will certainly bring about calamity and regret.

天時：久陰。家宅：虛耗，主出孤寡善人，或欺誑不實之人。婚姻：不宜。胎產：胎動不安，生女，防瘖啞。功名：已仕轉動，未仕蹭蹬。求財：不由自己，任人予奪。投謁：先天後違，主客異志。

Weather: prolonged overcast skies. Residence: the household suffers from loss, indicating the emergence of someone who is solitary and kind-hearted, or someone who is deceitful and dishonest. Marriage: not suitable. Pregnancy: restlessness in the womb, giving birth to a girl, beware of her being mute at birth. Official position: those already in office may receive a transfer, while those not yet in office will experience delays and stagnation. Seeking wealth: money is not under one's control, it depends on others to give or not. Sending letters or visiting: initially smooth, but later conflicting, with the host and guest having differing intentions.

疾病：主氣病，或嘔吐咽塞，或在心肺，乍病癒，久病危。失脫：逃人自歸，失物賊繫婦人，見者不肯言。出行：遇貴無益。行人：春秋占必來，冬夏占不至。爭訟：利後動，終解釋。兵戰：晝占虛詐，夜占有功，虎頭蛇尾。

Disease: This indicates illness in the qi aspect, or symptoms such as vomiting and obstruction in the throat, or illness in the heart and lungs. A recent illness can recover, but a long-term illness is dangerous. Lost items: The person who ran away will return by themselves; the lost item was stolen by a woman, and the person who saw it will not speak about it. Travel: Meeting a nobleman on the way brings no benefit. Waiting for a traveler: If the divination is cast in spring or autumn, the person will surely come; if cast in winter or summer, the person will not come. Litigation: It is advantageous to act after the other party, and eventually one will be released from the case. Military action: If the divination is cast in the daytime, there will be much bluffing and deceit; if cast at night, one can achieve success, but the success will be incomplete and lacking in perseverance.

畢法云：課傳俱貴反無依，晝夜貴加求兩貴，鬼乘天乙乃神祇，用破身心無所歸。訂訛云：六陰朦昧，似涉重淵，公凶私利，病患纏延。課經云：酉臨於為亞魁星。又云：酉加丁干，謂之財作閉口。

The *Bifa Fu* says: When the four lessons and three transmissions are full of noblemen, one actually has no support; when both day and night noblemen are added together, one seeks help from two noblemen at the same time; when ghostly signs are riding on the heavenly master nobleman, the trouble comes from divine beings; when the useful god is broken, one's body and mind have nowhere to rest. The *Ke Jing Ding E* says: Six yin spirits are dim and unclear, like entering a deep abyss, public affairs are ominous while private matters are beneficial, and illness is prolonged and lingering. The *Ke Jing* says: When酉 is on 丁, it is called "Ya Kui Xing" (the original text reads "You Lin Yu," with "Yu" being a mistake for "Ding"). It also says: When酉 is placed on the 丁 stem, it is called the wealth sign being closed.

課體：見機，順茹，斬關，龍戰。課義：夜占財退，必因同類，病者腰疼，晝貴勿恃。

This divination lesson has the "Lesson Pattern" of "Seeing Opportunity" — one must act according to the opportunity; it also includes "Smooth Progress" with the three transmissions proceeding smoothly like connected reeds; and it also includes "Cutting the Gate" and "Dragon Strife." The four-character "Lesson Meaning" states: starting a lesson at night indicates the loss of wealth, and the cause is certainly among brothers of the same type; the sick person will suffer from lower back pain; and the nobleman in the daytime is unreliable.

解曰：日財申也，夜占乘蛇，且三傳與日同類，有兄弟分爭之象，財之所以退也。辰為腰，臨卯被克，而乘白虎，虎專主筋骨，故腰痛為害也。此夾定三傳格，謂日課未在午前，日支卯在辰後，夾定三傳，凡事進退，皆不由人。

On a day with the Day Stem Jia, the wealth hexagram is the Metal of Shen. When casting the lesson at night, Shen is occupied by Teng Snake. Moreover, the three transmissions share the same fire element as the Day Stem, indicating a case of similar wealth hexagrams, suggesting a conflict among siblings, which causes the wealth to scatter. The hour Chen is associated with the waist in human terms. Now it is located on Mao and is being overcome by wood, while also being occupied by White Tiger, which governs bones and sinews. Therefore, this indicates a problem of lower back pain. This lesson belongs to the pattern of "Three Transmissions Enclosed": the Day Stem's Wei is before Wu, and the Day Branch's Mao is after Chen, enclosing the three transmissions in front and behind. Thus, all matters are constrained, and one has no freedom in advancing or retreating.

斷曰：此龍戰斬關之卦，前程有阻，心多疑貳，孟進不能，孟退不得。君子占之，獲福重疊，順茹之象不虛也。寅午之歲，及酉月酉時占俱不利。又干支皆乘前一辰，網羅身宅，豈能亨快。止利守己，則為干支乘旺。倘若妄動，變為網羅，又作羊刃。

This is a lesson of "Dragon Struggle" accompanied by "Cutting the Gate": there are obstacles ahead, confusion in the mind, unable to advance when wanting to, and unable to retreat when wanting to. (The original text has two instances of the character "Meng," which are errors for "Yu.") If a gentleman divines this, he will have abundant blessings, and the image of gradual progress through "Shun Ru" is not empty talk. However, it is unfavorable in the years of Yin and Wu, and in the months and hours of You. Moreover, both the day stem and day branch are occupied by the earthly branch of the previous one, like a net surrounding oneself and one's home, where can there be smooth success? It is only favorable to be content with one's position—then it becomes a旺 (prosperous) situation for the heavenly stem and earthly branch. But if one acts recklessly, the prosperity will turn into a net, and further transform into Yang Ren (a harmful influence) that harms people.

天時：夜占有雨，晝占雷電無雨，後久晴。家宅：室窄人多，主有伏尸。婚姻：吉，但宜遲合。胎產：未實，又主連胎。功名：先難後易。求財：有得，見妻成災。

Weather: If the divination is cast at night, there will be rain; if cast during the day, there will be thunder and lightning but no rain, and then there will be prolonged clear weather. House: The house is narrow and the population is large, indicating that there are buried unclaimed corpses underground. Marriage: It is auspicious, but it is better to marry later. Pregnancy: The fetal energy is not yet settled, and it indicates that one pregnancy will follow another. Achieving fame: It will be difficult at first but easy later. Seeking wealth: One can obtain wealth, but it will cause misfortune due to the wife.

疾病：主腰痛，先重後輕，書符合藥，厭禱最宜。失脫：在家左右前後，不漏。捕捉：晝占賊遠去，不可獲；若及之，必傷人而走。出行：正宜更新，外出主投人得所。行人：未還。爭訟：宜和。兵戰：主敵人求和之象。

Disease: Indicates lower back pain, which is heavy at first and then lightens. Drawing talismans and taking medicine, as well as performing rituals and prayers for appeasement, are most suitable. Lost items: The lost item is within the front, back, left, or right of the residence and cannot escape. Pursuit of a fugitive: If the lesson is cast in the daytime, the thief has already fled far away and cannot be caught; if by chance he is caught, he will certainly injure someone before fleeing. Travel: It is most suitable to change to a new situation, and going out to seek help from others will result in a good arrangement. Waiting for a traveler: The traveler has not yet returned. Litigation: It is suitable to reach a reconciliation. Military action: Indicates that the enemy has a desire for peace.

畢法云：所謀多拙遭羅網。照膽訣云：除定開危卯未方，龍陰后合可迍藏。課經云：丑加子為腹胎格，蓋丑為腹也。

The Bi Fa Fu says: Matters under consideration are mostly clumsy, leading one to fall into a trap. The Zhao Dan Jue says: On the days of Chú, Dìng, Kāi, and Wēi in the twelve values of Jian Chu, if paired with the directions Mǎo and Wèi, and if the auspicious generals Qing Long, Tai Yin, Tian Hou, and Liu He are present, one can avoid difficulties and hide from misfortune. The Ke Jing says: When Chǒu is placed on Zi, it is called the "Fu Tai" pattern, because Chǒu is associated with the abdomen in the human body.

課體：伏吟，天羅，斬關，泆女，元胎。課義：晝虎乘生，夜龍鬼並，機關在末，能敗能成。

This divination lesson has a "Lesson Pattern" of "Hidden Chant," combined with "Heavenly Net," indicating being trapped like a net overhead; also combined with "Cutting the Gate," and "Fleeing Woman," suggesting an image of a woman running away and losing her chastity; also combined with "Original Fetus," meaning all three transmissions are in the first quarters. The "Lesson Meaning" states in four-character phrases: During the day, the White Tiger is on the Growth position, and at night, the Azure Dragon is with the ghost爻 (ghost sign) together; the key to success or failure lies entirely in the final transmission, which can either ruin or accomplish things.

解曰：白虎凶將，而晝臨長生，不幸中之幸也。青龍吉將，而夜乘日鬼，幸中之不幸也。寅若生巳，則巳亦生干。申若克寅，則寅亦克干，成敗所由分也，機關不亦危乎。巳克申金，申克寅木，寅克戊土，是為三傳遞克。後寅生巳火，巳生戊土，是為末助初生，故有苦盡甘來之喻。

The White Tiger is inherently a malevolent general, but when it appears in the position of Growth, it is a fortunate turn of events amidst misfortune; the Azure Dragon is naturally a benevolent general, yet when it rides upon the ghostly trigram that controls the self, it becomes a misfortune within a fortunate situation. If the Wood of寅 generates the Fire of巳, the Fire of巳 then generates the Earth of戊 day stem; if the Metal of申 controls the Wood of寅, the Wood of寅 then controls the Earth of戊 day stem—success or failure is determined here, and this situation is indeed perilous. The Fire of巳 controls the Metal of申, the Metal of申 controls the Wood of寅, and the Wood of寅 controls the Earth of戊, forming a sequence of mutual control among the three transmissions; conversely, the Wood of寅 generates the Fire of巳, and the Fire of巳 generates the Earth of戊, which is the final transmission supporting the initial one to benefit the day stem. This is likened to hardship giving way to eventual ease.

斷曰：此卦遞刑遞克，自任無恩，先必有人克害於我，遂至眾口一詞，沸然騰謗。或常人素行兇橫，遂被雷攻。朝官遇此，亟宜提防檢束，反有升遷之美。

This lesson involves continuous mutual control and punishment, with everything only leading to one's own labor without receiving any favor. At first, there will certainly be someone who harms me, leading to widespread slander and heated criticism. If a common person has always acted violently, they will face a thunderous attack from the crowd. For those in official positions, encountering this lesson means they should be cautious, restrain themselves, and examine their own conduct, which may instead bring good fortune and promotion.

天時：密雲不雨，見風反為晴。家宅：平安，宅神脫日，不富。婚姻：女求男，成就遲。胎產：生女，胎安易產，七月占，防不育。功名：應舉得魁，仕得捧印。求財：晝占得田土，夜占費口舌。投謁：在家，賓主合。

Heavenly weather: dark clouds are thick but no rain falls; once the wind blows, the sky clears. Residential situation: the family is safe and sound, but the household spirit is draining the energy of the day stem, so the family is not wealthy. Marriage: the woman initiates the proposal, and the relationship develops slowly. Pregnancy and childbirth: a girl is expected, with stable fetal energy and an easy delivery; if the lesson is cast in July, there is a risk of the child not surviving. Achieving fame and status: one should pass the examination as the top candidate and attain a position of authority in government. Seeking wealth: if the lesson is cast in the daytime, one can acquire land and property; if cast at night, one needs to spend time persuading others. Sending messages or visiting: the host is at home, and the host and guest are in harmony.

疾病：胎氣吉，餘病危，尊長尤不利。失脫：離本家，即不可獲。出行：遲遲後出。行人：立至，值家中有喜事。爭訟：勝負不定。兵戰：兵刃相接，慎者無敗。

Disease: If the illness is due to fetal qi, it is auspicious; otherwise, it is dangerous, particularly harmful to the family's elders. Lost items: Once they leave the family door, they cannot be recovered. Travel: One must delay departure. Waiting for a traveler: The person will arrive immediately, coinciding with a family celebration. Lawsuits: The outcome is not yet decided. Military conflict: Both sides engage in combat; the cautious side will not suffer defeat.

畢法云：三傳互克眾人欺，賓主不投刑在上；信任丁馬須言動，變克翻為兩面非。課經云：伏吟卦，惟六戊日凶。蓋三傳遞剋日干，全無和氣，切不可作甲戊庚三奇言之。

The "Bifa Fu" says: When the three transmitters mutually control each other, the subject will be oppressed by many people; if the host and guest do not share the same sentiment, it is because the punishment falls on the upper deity; once the day stem and the post-horse are confirmed, the interpretation should focus on speech and action; if originally mutual control suddenly turns into mutual generation, it will lead to being disliked by both sides. The "Ke Jing" says: In aHidden Chant hexagram, only the six戊 days are dangerous, because the three transmitters successively control the day stem, with no sign of harmony; it is absolutely wrong to explain it using the theory of the three marvels of甲, 戊, and 庚.

課體：比用，退茹，不備，天罡。課義：鬼臨干墓，宜求門戶，冬晝火災，病訟如縷。

This lesson's "Lesson Pattern" is "Comparison and Use" — among the four lessons, there are two instances of mutual control, and the one that matches the day stem in yin and yang is chosen for initiating transmission; it also includes "Retreating and Consuming" and "Incompleteness"; it also includes "Tiangang," with the hour of Chen being Tiangang. The "Lesson Meaning" in four-character phrases says: the ghost爻 is located on the day stem's tomb, so one should seek prevention at the entrance and gate; starting a lesson during winter daylight brings fire; illness and legal disputes are connected continuously like threads.

解曰：辰為戊土之墓，卯以干鬼臨支，是為墓中之鬼，占病見凶宜矣。卯辰相害，事多虛聲。且卯為門戶，故宜謹之。又晝乘朱雀克宅，在冬占為火鬼，主有火災也。墓神覆日，非憂即病。鬼臨三四，官訟難免。

Chen is the storage place for Wu earth, and Mao wood, as the ghost of the day stem, is present on the day branch, which is called a ghost hidden in the storage. When predicting illness, it is natural to see misfortune. Mao and Chen mutually harm each other, and matters are often exaggerated. Moreover, Mao represents the gate in symbolic terms, so one should be cautious and vigilant about the gate. Furthermore, during the day, the Mao position is occupied by the Vermilion Bird, which attacks the house. In winter, when setting the course, Mao is the fire ghost, indicating a fire disaster. The storage god covers the day stem, meaning either worry or illness; if the ghost爻 is present on the third and fourth lessons, legal disputes are inevitable.

斷曰：此卦連茹逆傳，陽課不備，事主牽連疑貳，謀望難成。又墓臨干，鬼臨支，人既昏昧，宅亦未寧。若能檢點身心，勿妄動作，自然災消福至。己丑歲，三七十一月，占病遇之，多見哭泣。卯加辰，乘朱雀，大概有口舌文書之事。

This divination shows that the three transmissions are connected and moving in reverse, indicating a broken and incomplete yang lesson. This suggests that matters will be entangled and complicated, with indecision and difficulty in achieving goals. Additionally, theTomb Spirit (mound spirit) is present on the day stem, and the ghost爻 (ghost trigram) is on the day branch, indicating that the person is confused and the household is unsettled. If one can be cautious and restrain actions, then misfortune will dissipate and good fortune will arrive. In the year of Jichou, during the third, seventh, and eleventh months, if this lesson is used for divination regarding illness, it is likely that there will be incidents involving crying. The卯 (rabbit) is placed on the辰 (dragon) and is accompanied by the Vermilion Bird, suggesting that there will be disputes and matters related to documents and words.

天時：晝占無雨，夜占可得。家宅：謹守門戶，防有火災。婚姻：不成。胎產：防有枝指、缺唇之病。功名：求官見貴，破中有成。求財：反覆不得。

Weather: If the lesson is cast in the daytime, there will be no rain; if cast at night, rain may be obtained. Residence: Be careful to guard the doors and watch out for fire. Marriage: It will not succeed. Childbirth: Be careful that the child may be born with defects such as six fingers or a cleft lip. Official position: Seeking an official post and meeting the nobleman, although in a state of damage, there will still be success. Seeking wealth: There will be much toiling without success.

疾病：淹纏或主疫氣，或頭疼發熱。失脫：財物難獲，逃亡急尋。出行：不能動，動亦阻隔不利。行人：未至，占寅卯生人即至。爭訟：利為客者，又主牢禁病纏。兵戰：將軍辰卯年命者最忌，敵兵必至，戰不成。

Disease: prolonged illness, or epidemic disease, or headache and fever. Lost property: lost belongings are difficult to recover, and those who have run away should be pursued immediately. Travel: unable to move, even if one tries to go, there will be many obstacles and everything will be unfavorable. Waiting for a traveler: the person has not arrived yet; if the person was born in the year of寅 or卯, they will arrive immediately. Lawsuits: favorable for the party that comes later; it also indicates imprisonment and prolonged illness. Military affairs: the general's birth year in辰 or卯 is most to be avoided; the enemy will certainly arrive, but the battle cannot be fought.

畢法云：尊崇傳內遇三奇，彼此猜忌害相隨，鬼臨三四訟災隨。金口三才賦：木入土鄉，瘡災牢獄。朱雀文書口舌，六合喜慶婚姻。

The *Bifa Fu* says: One can attain honor and success because the three transmissions include the three marvels; mutual suspicion arises when the six harms are present; if the ghost爻 is on the third or fourth lesson, litigation and calamity will follow. The *Jinkou Sanchai Fu* says: When wood enters the realm of earth, it indicates illness and imprisonment; the Vermilion Bird governs documents and disputes, while Liu He governs joy and marriage.

課體：重審，間傳，極陰，龍德。課義：彼己受克，丁馬身宅，夜傳皆陷，靜躁無益。

This lesson's "Lesson Pattern" is "Re-examination," combined with "Intermediate Transmission," "Extreme Yin," and "Dragon Virtue." The four-character "Lesson Meaning" states: both the other party and oneself are being restrained; the Ding spirit and the Post-horse are respectively located on oneself and the residence; when the lesson was cast at night, all three transmissions fall into empty and hidden positions; whether calm or restless, there is no benefit.

解曰：卯丁克日，寅馬克宅，是為彼己俱傷。雖曰丁馬宜動，如此動之，何益也。用神乘天空，中傳旬空，末傳坐空，三傳俱陷，躁固有失，靜亦無得。然靜守雖無所益，不愈於妄動生災乎。

The wood of Mao is bringing the Ding god to attack the day stem, while the wood of Yin brings the post-horse to attack the day branch's dwelling. This results in both sides being harmed. Although the Ding god and the post-horse are active, what benefit is there in such movement? The first transmission's useful god is riding the sky void (indicating deception and falsehood), the middle transmission falls into the ten-thousand emptiness, and the final transmission also sits in emptiness. All three transmissions are in a fallen position: although restlessness leads to loss, stillness brings nothing. However, although stillness brings no benefit, it is better than reckless action that invites misfortune.

斷曰：此重審之卦，又名間傳，動多阻滯。所喜初傳乘空，譬若陰暗瀰漫，忽得好風吹至，撥雲霧而睹青天也。

This is a "Chong Shen" divination, also known as "Jian Chuan," which signifies that once something starts, there will be many obstructions. Fortunately, the first transmission is riding on Tian Kong, like a sudden gust of good wind breaking through heavy clouds, clearing the mist and revealing the blue sky.

天時：重陰，得風而解。家宅：門戶阻塞，丁多而貧。婚姻：女長於男，晝占吉。胎產：生女不實。功名：未遂。求財：虛。疾病：傷脾胃之症，無妨，久病危。交易：須見參差，宜忍。出行：東方吉。行人：還家。爭訟：田土口舌，文書惑亂。兵戰：晝占吉，夜占凶。墳墓：局合三奇，發丁發貴，宜多種松楸。

Weather: Overcast with layered clouds, the clouds will disperse only after the wind rises. House: The entrance is blocked, although there are many people, they are poor. Marriage: The woman is older than the man, and it is auspicious to cast the divination during the day. Pregnancy: A girl is expected, but the fetal energy is not strong. Achieving fame and status: Not as desired. Seeking wealth: A futile effort. Illness: A disorder of the spleen and stomach, not serious, but dangerous if the illness persists. Trade and commerce: There will be discrepancies and mismatches, requiring patience and waiting. Travel: Going east is auspicious. Waiting for a traveler: The person has returned home. Litigation: Disputes over land and property, with confusion in the documents. Military affairs: Casting the divination during the day is auspicious, but at night it is inauspicious. Burial: The entire chart forms the Three Marvels, indicating a thriving population and the emergence of noble people; it is suitable to plant many pine and Chinese catalpa trees.

畢法云：支干全傷防兩損，用破身心無所歸，夫婦蕪淫各有私。課經訂訛云：鬼臨墓為得地，引類呼朋，故名鬼呼。古鑑：戊申六月未將酉時，占家宅曰：戊辰干支，丑又為土，加於卯門，主有土塞東邊門。干上得卯，支上得寅，寅卯六月入墓，為死木，主壁外有兩棺。末傳酉加亥為敗地，乘太陰為老婦，主以酒病死。丑亥酉名為極陰，惟傳空可解。然亦主家道消索，俱驗。

The "Bifa Fu" says: When both the day stem and day branch are harmed, one should beware of damage to both people and the home; the useful god is broken, and the mind and body have nowhere to rest; the husband and wife each harbor private feelings, leading to confusion and disorder. The "Ke Jing Ding E" says: When the ghost hexagram is on top of the tomb, it is considered to have the advantage of geographical location, and it will attract similar beings and gather companions, so it is called "ghost calling." The "Gu Jian" records a case: In the year of Wushen, sixth lunar month, using the method of adding the hour of You, a divination was made about the family dwelling. The interpretation said: The dry branch Wuchen, with Chou (the earthy branch) also belonging to earth, is placed on the position of Mao (the portal), indicating a pile of earth blocking the eastern gate; the day stem receives Mao, and the day branch receives Yin, with Yin and Mao being two wooden branches that are buried in the sixth lunar month, indicating two coffins buried outside the wall; the final transmission, You, is placed on Hai, which is a place of failure, and it is accompanied by Tai Yin (indicating private matters, darkness, and an old woman's condition), indicating that there is an old woman in the family who died from illness caused by drinking. Chou, Hai, and You together are called extreme Yin, and only when the three transmissions fall into an empty position can the situation be resolved; even if resolved, it still indicates the family's fortune gradually declining. Later events proved this to be accurate.

課體：元首，奇化，元胎，地結。課義：守之見傷，動入空鄉，晝虎祛禍，夜龍輔戕。

This lesson's "Lesson Pattern" is "Yuan Shou", combined with "Qi Hua" and "Yuan Tai"; also combined with "Di Jie" — the Earth Plate is entangled and difficult to resolve. The "Lesson Meaning" in four-character phrases says: staying still leads to harm, but once moving, one steps into the land of Kongwang; during the day, the White Tiger can help remove misfortune, but at night, the Azure Dragon helps others to harm me.

解曰：寅木克干，不可守也。棄之而入中傳，亥乃動入空鄉，亦不居也。晝虎乘申克寅鬼而空亡祛禍，夜龍助寅伐干而脫干財。吉凶禍福，互相倚伏，豈可執而論哉。

The wood of寅 is able to overcome the earth of戊 on the day stem, but it cannot be held; it is abandoned and enters the middle transmission, with the water of亥 falling into the kongwang place, and thus cannot be retained. During the day, the white tiger rides on the metal of申 to overcome the ghost of寅 wood, though it falls into kongwang, it is actually beneficial in removing misfortune; at night, the azure dragon supports the wood of寅 to attack the day stem, and also drains the wealth of the day stem. It is evident that good and bad, misfortune and fortune, are interdependent, and one cannot rigidly judge based on a single aspect.

斷曰：此卦抑塞未通，圖謀未遂，內生災惱，外見侵凌，幸元首元胎，又傳中有解，主先憂後喜，難中有易。春季夜占，為陽開泰運之象，申亥年月不利。

This lesson indicates blocked and suppressed energy, preventing smooth flow, and things planned cannot be realized. There is trouble at home and being harassed from outside. Fortunately, there is both "original leader" and "original embryo," with a resolving deity among the three transmissions, indicating initial worry followed by joy, and difficulty mixed with ease. A lesson cast in spring night suggests the rising of yang energy and a turning of favorable fortune; however, it is unfavorable in the year and month of Shen and in the year and month of Hai.

天時：晝占先晴後雨，夜占雨多。家宅：主兄弟眾，宅兩旁主有小巷，東者宜閉。婚姻：諧合，得妻財。胎產：晝占即產，夜占生女不育。功名：加官進祿，試者登科。求財：夜占大有利。

Weather: When casting a divination during the day, the sky will first be clear then rain; when casting at night, there will be much rain and wind. Residence: The owner has many brothers, and the house has two small alleys on either side, with the one on the east being suitable to be closed. Marriage: A harmonious relationship will lead to a successful marriage, and there is also a chance to gain property through the wife. Pregnancy and childbirth: If casting during the day, the child will be born immediately; if casting at night, a girl will be born but she may not live long. Official rank: There will be promotion and increased salary, and those taking exams will pass successfully. Seeking wealth: Casting at night is highly advantageous.

疾病：晝占似凶而後愈，夜占似愈而反甚。失脫：繫奴婢所竊，遞入勢家。出行：上官赴任吉，餘無利。行人：有戀不肯行。爭訟：先者勝。兵占：夜占吉，得寶貨圖書。墳墓：主低窪，或被賊挖。

Disease: A divination cast in the daytime appears ominous at first but eventually leads to recovery; one cast in the night seems favorable but results in worsening condition. Lost items: They were stolen by a servant and passed on to a powerful household. Travel: It is auspicious for someone taking up an official post, but for others, going out is not beneficial. Waiting for a traveler: He has other attachments and is unwilling to leave. Lawsuits: The party that acts first will win. Military operations: A night divination is favorable, indicating the capture of treasures, goods, and documents. Burial: The site is low-lying and may be dug up by tomb robbers.

畢法云：干支全傷防兩損，三傳遞生人薦舉；喜懼空亡乃妙機，龍加生氣吉遲遲(三月占)。心鏡云：三傳俱孟是元胎，五行生處主嬰孩；所占百事皆新意，或卜懷胎結偶來，括囊賦云：元首尊神，所作仰為領袖。又云：元胎孟卜干嬰孩。又云：寅加巳兮灶更。

The "Bifa Fu" says: If both the day stem and day branch are injured, one should beware of losses on both ends; if the three transmissions are interrelated in a cycle of mutual generation, it indicates that someone will recommend the person; if there is one joy and one fear, one should look at where the empty void falls, for there is a wonderful mechanism here; if the Azure Dragon is placed on the life qi, it is auspicious but the good fortune comes slowly—this passage originally refers to a class of divination started in the third lunar month. The "Xin Jing" says: if all three transmissions are in the four initial months (寅, 申, 巳, 亥), it is called "Yuan Tai," and if the five elements are in the place of growth, it indicates matters concerning infants; whatever is divined will have a new aspect, or the person consulting the divination is seeking to know about pregnancy or marriage. The "Kuan Nang Fu" says: "Yuan Shou" is the god of the superior, and one can rely on it as a leader in its actions; it also says that "Yuan Tai" mostly concerns matters about infants (the original text's "Meng Bu" has "Meng" as a mistaken character for "Yu"); it also says that if寅 is placed on巳, it indicates a change of stove.

課體：重審，潤下，旬化。課義：上和下睦，傳財盛極，春夏可取，秋冬難得。

This lesson's "Lesson Pattern" is "Chong Shen" (Re-examination), combined with "Run Xia" (Moistening Down). The three transmits form the water triad of Shen-Zi-Chen, taking the meaning from the "Hong Fan" that "water is called Run Xia." It is also combined with "Xun Hua" (Decade Transformation), referring to the transformation of the ten heavenly stems. The "Lesson Meaning" is expressed in four-character phrases: the upper and lower parts are harmonious and friendly, with the wealth transmitted by the three transmits reaching its peak. Seeking during spring and summer can still be successful, but in autumn and winter it becomes difficult to achieve.

解曰：巳酉丑，申子辰，干支上下三合。申子辰作傳，而干上乘丑，又作六合，可謂上下和睦矣。春夏水當休囚，若於此時求之，反可有得。若秋冬水旺及時，傳財太旺，反使財虧也。戊日辰乘元武，為收魂神，十一月尤忌，辰為死氣故也。大吉真貴臨日，主有神聖降佑。

The combination of Si, You, and Chou forms a metal triad, and the combination of Shen, Zi, and Chen forms a water triad. The day stem and day branch are perfectly aligned to form a triple harmony. The three transmissions are water triad (Shen, Zi, Chen), and the day stem is also joined by Chou earth to form aLiu He. This indicates harmony between the upper and lower parts. In spring and summer, water is weak and confined, so seeking wealth at this time can actually be beneficial. However, if it is in autumn or winter when water is strong and flourishing, the excessive wealth in the three transmissions may lead to financial loss. On Wu day, the Chen branch is occupied by the Black Tortoise, which is a spirit of summoning souls. This is especially to be avoided in the eleventh month, as Chen is in a state of death qi during that time. The Chou earth is a great blessing and is the true nobleman for Wu day, indicating divine blessings and protection.

斷曰：此潤下之卦，觸處皆財，又得青龍入傳，可云稱心遂意。傳課中三合六合，經云：三合相呼見喜忻，縱然帶惡不成嗔。何況三傳皆作日之財，全無障礙。干上六合，主有人在內相助而成，惟占病及解釋憂疑事不宜，秋冬亦不利。

This is a "Run Xia" lesson, with wealth appearing everywhere, and the Azure Dragon entering the three transmissions, indicating things will go smoothly according to one's wishes. Among the four lessons and three transmissions, there are both Triple Harmony and Liu He. The classic says: Triple Harmony mutually support each other, bringing joy; even if an evil spirit is present, anger cannot be aroused. Moreover, all three transmissions are wealth hexagrams of the day stem, with no obstacles. The day stem is accompanied by Liu He, indicating someone within will help to facilitate matters. However, this lesson is not suitable for divination regarding illness or resolving doubts, and it is also unfavorable in autumn and winter.

天時：大雨沾足，久陰不晴。家宅：平安，宜疏通溝瀆。婚姻：和合，女性過柔。胎產：生女，產遲。功名：仕宦順利，惟不利文書。求財：春夏大利，秋冬不利。

Weather: Heavy rain falls thoroughly, and the sky remains cloudy without clearing for a long time. Residence: Safe and peaceful, it is advisable to clear the drainage channels and waterways. Marriage: Harmony can lead to success, but the bride's nature is too gentle. Pregnancy and childbirth: A girl is expected, and the childbirth will be delayed. Official career: Smooth in official matters, but not favorable for matters related to documents. Seeking wealth: Very favorable in spring and summer, but unfavorable in autumn and winter.

疾病：不利尊長，餘火病及上部病速愈，腎家病淹滯難愈。失脫：在西方，賊有窩藏者。出行：利舟楫，不宜從陸。行人：即歸家。爭訟：宜和，賤者牽連不已。兵戰：晝憂夜吉。

Disease: It is unfavorable to the family's elders; however, diseases with a fiery nature and those affecting the upper body will recover quickly, while kidney-related illnesses will be slow to heal. Lost items: They are lost in the west, and there are others who are hiding the stolen goods. Travel: It is favorable to travel by boat on water routes, but not by land. Waiting for a traveler: The person will return immediately. Litigation: It is favorable to reach a reconciliation; the party of lower status will be involved continuously. Military operations: There is worry if the divination is cast during the day, but it is favorable if cast at night.

畢法云：萬事喜忻三六合，六爻現卦防其克。心印賦云：三合相加日上臨，干支上下一同尋；或占喜事兼姻事，最好相宜望信音。

The Bi Fa Fu says: All worldly affairs bring joy, and this depends on Triple Harmony and Liu He; however, when six lines appear in the hexagram, one should still be cautious about the possible injuries among them. The Xin Yin Fu says: When the Triple Harmony deity is placed upon the Day Stem, one should also examine the deities above and below the Day Stem; if the divination is about joyful matters or marriage, this lesson is most suitable, and one can look forward to good news.
