On the Renwu day, the eighth configuration: the stem is on the Chen branch.

Charting guides: Da Liu Ren Chart Calculator, Jin Kou Jue Chart

This lesson has three patterns: Knowing One, Cutting the Gate, and Incomplete. The rhyme says: both sides are injured; the one in a low position feels resentful; the day stem is likely to move; once it moves, there will be many instances of theft and loss.

The day stem is Ren water, which is being overcome by the upper Chen earth. The day branch is Wu fire, which is also being overcome by Hai water. Both the stem and the branch are injured by their respective superior spirits. The day stem is like a superior, and the day branch is like an inferior. The day stem is above the day branch and overcomes it, but the hidden spirit of the day branch turns back to overcome the day stem. This is the resentment of the inferior. The Ren water day stem is bound to move. When it moves, it first reaches the initial transmission, which is Chen earth, the ghost's tomb. Then it moves to the middle transmission, which is a failing atmosphere and empty. Finally, it reaches the final transmission, which is Yin wood, causing further depletion. It also rides on Teng Snake and Black Tortoise, which are in an empty and hidden position, leading to even more dispersion. Clearly, there are multiple instances of loss and theft.

The interpretation states: Knowing that one adds a cutting-off transmission, it indicates a smooth journey and travel; yet it is also called unprepared, meaning the matter will certainly be incomplete, with calamities arising from within and affecting women and children. The middle and final transmissions of the three transmissions all fall empty, so one is forced to seek wealth from the day branch, which forms the pattern of 'evading danger and escaping'.

Heavenly Stems: Jia, Yi, Bing, Ding, Wu, Ji, Geng, Xin, Ren, Gui Earthly Branches: Zi, Chou, Yin, Mao, Chen, Si, Wu, Wei, Shen, You, Xu, Hai Trigrams: Qian (Heaven), Dui (Lake), Li (Fire), Zhen (Thunder), Xun (Wind), Kan (Water), Gen (Mountain), Kun (Earth) Glossary: Travel = Xingchu Approach Day = Linri Azure Dragon = Qinglong Tiangang = Tiangang (Chen) Net mansion = Bixu Nobleman = Guiren Day Stem = Rigan Day Branch = Rizhi Kongwang = Kongwang Heavenly Stems are pointing to the Hai position with Tiangang, and the tomb god is covering the Day Stem. Rain should occur, but the Net mansion, which governs rain, is located in Kongwang, so it will only be a cloudy day. For the home, there is a situation where elders oppress the younger ones and the younger ones also have faults, and the other party is also affected, making the troubles hard to resolve. For official positions, because the tomb god covers the Day Stem and the Nobleman is not present, although there is an official star, it is likely not auspicious. For seeking wealth, since the wealth element and the Azure Dragon are not present, it is hard to say there will definitely be gain. For marriage, both the Day Stem and Day Branch are harmed by superior spirits, making the man's side unfavorable and the woman's side also not auspicious. For pregnancy, if the divination is done in the seventh month, the wife is certainly pregnant; however, since both the Day Stem and Day Branch involve punishment, the birth is not favorable. For illness, because the tomb god covers the Day Stem, the illness is certain to be difficult to recover from. For travel, there is a ghostly tomb of Chen earth blocking the way, making land travel inauspicious, while water travel is somewhat better because it aligns with the nature of the壬 water. For a person who has left, the Tiangang is added to the fourth Meng position, meaning they have not yet departed. For military matters, because the Day Stem approaches and harms the Day Branch, it is favorable for the host side but not for the guest side.

The "Bifa Fu" states: When the official star is located on the day branch, it indicates that the authority is not properly established; for a still transmission course, one should examine the first transmission and the time of divination. The "Yuejue Shu" records that King Wu of Wu summoned Gongsun Sheng for a divination, and the result was亥 general added to the午 time. Gongsun Sheng said: The day stem is being overcome by the辰 earth, and the day branch is being overcome by the亥 water; the desire is to seek help from the寅 wood, but the寅 wood has already been defeated at the酉 position; life and death are now under the control of heaven, and there is no way to escape. This will not only harm myself, but also harm King Wu.

On the Renwu day, ninth section: the stem is on the卯 (Mao) branch.

This lesson has three patterns: Re-examination; "Curved and Straight," as the three transcriptions form the wood triad of Hai-Mao-Wei; and Cutting the Gate. The rhyme says: the population is sparse but the houses are spacious; although some expense is required, in the end everyone will be satisfied; the three transcriptions all steal the energy of the day stem, so at this time it is safest to avoid and yield.

The three transmissions form a wooden trinity with亥, 卯, and 子, which drains the qi of the day stem壬 water and instead nourishes the day branch午 fire. The day stem represents people, and the day branch represents the house. Thus, the qi is entirely directed towards the house, leading to a situation where there are few people but spacious houses. Then, 卯 combines with 戌 and 寅 combines with 亥, forming cross combinations, indicating that although some expenditure is involved, both sides end up in a joyful situation. Furthermore, the壬 water is continuously drained by the three transmissions, so it turns to the first transmission 未 earth. The hidden 丁 fire within 未 combines with 壬 water, which signifies escaping from difficulties and being able to live in harmony with each other.

The interpretation states: After re-examination, the matter is considered to be in a wooden structure, indicating a sign ofretrograde (retrogression). On the surface, there seems to be excess, but in reality, there is a deficiency. It begins with bending and eventually straightens out. It is suitable to travel by boat or carriage. The most auspicious time is in spring.

Heavenly Stems: Jia, Yi, Bing, Ding, Wu, Ji, Geng, Xin, Ren, Gui Earthly Branches: Zi, Chou, Yin, Mao, Chen, Si, Wu, Wei, Shen, You, Xu, Hai Trigrams: Qian (Heaven), Dui (Lake), Li (Fire), Zhen (Thunder), Xun (Wind), Kan (Water), Gen (Mountain), Kun (Earth) Glossary: Travel = Travel White Tiger = White Tiger Azure Dragon = Azure Dragon Tiangang = Tiangang (Chen) (Chen) Three Transmissions = Three Transmissions Day Branch = Day Branch Growth = Growth Storage = Storage Heavenly Stems indicate the Yang position with Tiangang pointing towards it, and the Wood element is draining the Water energy, resulting in no rain but strong winds. There are many beautiful houses, but the population may not be prosperous. In terms of official rank, the Day Branch's戌 earth represents the official star, which is supported by the Azure Dragon in the day and the White Tiger at night, suggesting potential. However, the Wood element is harming this official star, so the outcome is likely unfavorable. In matters of wealth, one's own money is hard to keep, so there is little time to seek external gains. Marriage is favorable, especially for a son-in-law. For childbirth, the child is still attached to the mother, indicating a late delivery. For illness, if it is night time, it suggests kidney deficiency, and the Three Transmissions move from Storage to Growth, indicating a quick recovery. Travel is smooth, but there is a fear of reluctance to leave. A traveler is affected by Tiangang at the four initial positions and has not yet started. In military matters, it is favorable for the host but not for the guest.

The "Bi Fa Fu" says: All matters bring joy because of triple harmony and mutual support; a house that is too spacious leads to a decline in population. The "Guan Jing Xing" says: When triple harmony and mutual support are in resonance, auspicious events occur; even if there are malevolent influences, they cannot take effect.the so-called带恶 refers to when on a day of metal, the fire trinity ofYin-Wu-Xu (Fire triad) is present; on a day of earth, the wood trinity ofHai-Mao-Wei (Wood triad) is present; on a day of wood, the metal trinity ofSi-You-Chou (Metal triad) is present; and on a day of fire, the water trinity ofShen-Zi-Chen (Water triad) is present. Although these trinities overcome the day stem, they do not cause harm, but rather indicate that someone is assisting. The "Liu Ren Jing Yun" says: On a Renwu day, the three transmissions are all in a state of depletion; if the divination is done at night, the earth-related heavenly generals such as Gou Chen, Nobleman, and Tai Chang all attack the day stem. However, the wood trinity in the three transmissions overcomes them, which matches the pattern of "depletion turning into salvation."

On the Renwu day, the tenth layout: the stem is on the寅 (Yin) position.

There are four lesson patterns in this case: Chong Shen and San Jiao; "Er Fan," where the four Zhong deities are added in order upon the four Zhong positions, indicating disturbance and unrest; "Guasu," indicating loneliness and lack of companionship. The rhymed text says: When the heavenly stems and earthly branches interact and mutually generate, it is originally a good omen, but the outcome is ultimately not favorable. If the divination is done during the day, it is called San Jiao, but if done at night, it requires self-sacrifice.

The Day Stem's寅 wood is generating the Day Branch, and the Day Branch's酉 metal is also generating the Day Stem, indicating a mutually beneficial relationship. However, the寅 wood is also draining the壬 water, and the酉 metal is precisely the dead place for午 fire, leading to an ultimately unfavorable outcome. This divination is called "Three Mutual Generation." The Heavenly General is riding on Gou Chen and White Tiger, indicating potential for violence, conflict, and mourning. When午 is placed on酉, it signifies mutual generation, and when酉 is placed on午, it signifies destruction, suggesting that matters of negotiation will not be resolved. During the night, the Heavenly General is associated with Tian Kong and Black Tortoise, and the Nobleman is positioned at the Zi place and is being harmed, so one should be cautious of self-injury and financial loss.

The interpretation says: In this lesson, the initiating transmission god is both empty and broken, the middle transmission is the god of robbery and theft, and the final transmission is the spirit of leakage. From beginning to end, it is like this. To accomplish something, is it not too difficult? If in spring, with酉 as the month general, the lesson is called two troubles.

Heavenly Stems: Jia, Yi, Bing, Ding, Wu, Ji, Geng, Xin, Ren, Gui Earthly Branches: Zi, Chou, Yin, Mao, Chen, Si, Wu, Wei, Shen, You, Xu, Hai Trigrams: Qian (Heaven), Dui (Lake), Li (Fire), Zhen (Thunder), Xun (Wind), Kan (Water), Gen (Mountain), Kun (Earth) Glossary: Travel = Xingchu Azure Dragon = Qinglong Tiangang = Tiangang (Chen) Net mansion = Bixiu Nobleman = Guiren Day Stem = Rigan Day Branch = Rizhi Initiating Transmission = Fayong Heavenly Stems: Jia, Yi, Bing, Ding, Wu, Ji, Geng, Xin, Ren, Gui Earthly Branches: Zi, Chou, Yin, Mao, Chen, Si, Wu, Wei, Shen, You, Xu, Hai Trigrams: Qian (Heaven), Dui (Lake), Li (Fire), Zhen (Thunder), Xun (Wind), Kan (Water), Gen (Mountain), Kun (Earth) Glossary: Travel = Xingchu Azure Dragon = Qinglong Tiangang = Tiangang (Chen) Net mansion = Bixiu Nobleman = Guiren Day Stem = Rigan Day Branch = Rizhi Initiating Transmission = Fayong The heavens indicate that Tiangang points to the Yin position, showing a situation of gloom without rain. The Net mansion, which governs rain, is empty and meets a breaking force, initiating transmission. This is an omen of gloom without rain. The household encounters breaking and failure, resulting in a bleak situation. In matters of official rank, the Nobleman is accompanied by breaking and punishment, and the official star and禄神 are absent, so success is unlikely. In seeking wealth, since the wealth element and the Azure Dragon are absent, it is uncertain whether there will be gain. In marriage, the Day Stem is afflicted by the six harms, and the Day Branch is in conflict, indicating an unfavorable omen for marriage. In childbirth, the lower is strong and the upper is weak, with the child belonging to Yin, indicating the birth of a daughter. In illness, it is a condition caused by excessive indulgence in wine and sex, leading to exhaustion, affecting the lung meridian, and requiring major replenishment of the lower origin to recover. In travel, since the Day Branch's spirit overpowers the Day Stem, travel is unfavorable. A traveler encountering Tiangang over the four seasons will return soon. In military affairs, a daytime divination indicates hesitation, while a nighttime divination warns of enemy deception.

The *Bi Fa Fu* says: When the heavenly stems and earthly branches mutually generate and support each other, and both are thriving, all matters will be beneficial. The *Ke Jing* says: On any day of the water stem壬, the寅 wood on the day stem is the place where the壬 water loses its strength; if during daytime divination the heavenly general is riding the Black Tortoise, it forms the "loss and theft" pattern, and whatever is divined will indicate loss, theft, or misfortune. The *Zhi Qiao* further says: The four central deities are added in order to the子, 午, 卯, and 酉. If divination is done in spring, it is called "trap," like a bird flying into a cage; if done in summer, it is called "direct annoyance," like an ox being cut; if done in autumn, it is called "losing friends," seeming to be separated but later reunited; if done in winter, it is called "gradual emergence," meaning that when yin reaches its extreme, yang begins to revive again.

On the Renwu day, the eleventh section: the stem is on Chou.

This lesson has four patterns: Re-examination, Intermediate Transmission, and Encouragement of Virtue; "Nine Disgraces," which refers to days when the Day Stem is one of Yi, Wu, Ji, Xin, or Ren, paired with the four central branches Zi, Wu, Mao, and You. When the Day Stem's heavenly stem is also on the central position, it indicates evil, immorality, and improper affairs. Renwu is one of the Nine Disgrace days. The rhyme says: When Ding fire is paired with Renwu, it is best to seek an audience at this time. The White Tiger enters the position of the Vermilion Bird, encountering misfortune but not resulting in disaster.

Dingchou is placed upon Ren water day stem, causing the official ghost's wealth to become active, so it is suitable to seek official and noble positions. Shen is the position of the White Tiger and Wu is the position of the Vermilion Bird. Now Shen is placed upon Wu, which is called 'Tiger entering Vermilion Bird'. Fortunately, Shen metal is exactly in the empty position, and the ghost Wu earth falls into an empty and hidden position, so the凶 is not as severe. However, the pattern of 'Tiger entering Vermilion Bird' is extremely凶 when used for litigation, regardless of whether it falls into empty or not.

The interpretation states: After a re-examination and an intervening transmission, the initiating deity falls into an empty and trapped position. Whatever is divined, it is merely an empty name. If it concerns an ominous matter, major issues can be reduced to minor ones, and minor ones can be eliminated entirely. If it concerns a fortunate matter, success is rare and failure is common. The official star in the middle transmission does not take effect, leaving only the final transmission of water. However, this water is a劫财, and it is occupied by the White Tiger and Black Tortoise throughout day and night, suggesting a risk of loss. Nevertheless, if the Longevity position of the Five Phases appears with the Azure Dragon, then wealth and fortune can be achieved as desired.

Heavenly Stems: Jia, Yi, Bing, Ding, Wu, Ji, Geng, Xin, Ren, Gui Earthly Branches: Zi, Chou, Yin, Mao, Chen, Si, Wu, Wei, Shen, You, Xu, Hai Trigrams: Qian (Heaven), Dui (Lake), Li (Fire), Zhen (Thunder), Xun (Wind), Kan (Water), Gen (Mountain), Kun (Earth) Tiangang points to the Yang position in the heavens, and the mother god of water falls into Kongwang, making it likely that rain will not come. The family residence suffers because the original god of the day stem is present at the day branch but falls into Kongwang, so the elders should beware of loss. With the residence full of emptiness, the family is poor, having only four walls left. In terms of official positions, the official爻 falls into an empty and trapped position, indicating an unfavorable omen for official matters. Regarding wealth, Chou contains hidden Ding fire, which is the wealth of Ren water. Chou is also the official ghost, and when it is on top of the day stem, it indicates receiving wealth given by the superior authority.

Marriage is when the male is full and the female is empty, which is mostly empty talk. For childbirth, if the lower is strong and the upper is weak, it will certainly be a girl; if the mother's side is empty and the fetus's side is full, the delivery will certainly be easy. For illness, the lung metal is affected, which can still be treated; but if the illness has lasted a long time, it is likely to be unfavorable. For travel, going by land is suitable, while going by water is empty and lacks substance; once the empty part of the post-horse is filled, the journey will certainly begin. For a traveler, because the post-horse is empty, he is expected to come by water, or arrive on the day of Zi or Chou. For military actions, if the enemy is weak, an attack is feasible; if the divination is done in daylight, it indicates gaining wealth, but if done at night, it indicates a great victory.

The *Bifa Fu* says: When the day stem is壬 or癸 (water) and meets the丁 (spirit), wealth becomes active; whether to be happy or fearful about the kongwang is the key to determining fortune and misfortune. The *Ke Jing* says: For any day of壬, if丑 is placed on亥, and the divination is done in the daytime of the eighth month, the official ghost of the day stem transforms into death qi, riding on tai chang and resting upon the day stem, it certainly indicates mourning within and outside the family. The *Zhipang Fu* says: When the shen (transmission) falls into kongwang and meets the azure dragon, both descendants and wealth will suffer losses.

On the Renwu day, the twelfth section: the stem is on the child branch.

This lesson has four patterns: Yuan Shou, Jin Ru; "Wu Yin," where the heavenly stems and earthly branches interact with mutual punishments and hidden combinations, with both male and female harboring private feelings; "San Qi," where the three transmissions conceal the heavenly stems of Jia, Wu, and Geng, the three marvels. The rhyme says: the heavenly stems and earthly branches mutually oppress and harm each other; theft, leakage, loss, and consumption indicate an inauspicious outcome; the Yang Ren is occupied by Yuan Wu and Bai Hu; separation and emptiness mutually harm each other.

The water of the day stem is overcoming the fire of the day branch, and the earth of the day branch is also overcoming the water of the day stem. This is a case of mutual oppression and harm. The first transmission is a wealth god formed by the god of the fourth heaven, which seems to be able to go far; but the middle and final transmissions are all losing strength. Trying to hold onto the strong water of the day stem, it turns out to be both yangren and a net. The heavenly generals are also riding on the black tortoise and the white tiger day and night. The loss and mutual harm are unavoidable.

The interpretation says: advancing into the realm of nourishment is further covered by a net, so it is only suitable to maintain one's proper position and not to take action in pursuing affairs. Moreover, the day stem and day branch mutually control each other and hinder each other, with no trace of harmony, making it unsuitable to engage in matters involving connections and negotiations. Furthermore, the metal of the hour of Shen is the origin and growth of the water of Ren. However, although it is supported by the Azure Dragon and Liu He, it falls into Kongwang, meaning that the aspect of parents will result in nothing but empty joy.

The heavenly stem representing water has its mother god missing, and the first transmission further harms water. Since water is below and fire is above, the divination indicates that heaven will not rain. For the family dwelling, there is mutual harm between person and dwelling, and it is a lesson of disorder, indicating an unfavorable outcome for the home. For official positions and government affairs, the official element combines with the day stem's heavenly stem, seeming promising, but it is harmed by the wood of寅, and the day's fortune is also missing, so there is likely no actual result. For seeking wealth, the壬 water meets the丁 god, indicating that wealth is originally present, but it is harmed by wood, so it cannot be perfect. In matters of marriage, both parties harm each other and have private feelings, which is most unfavorable for marriage.

The child and mother both suffer because the day stem and day branch are both harmful and mutually controlling. The illness is caused by the earth element of Wei controlling the water element, resulting in a disease of the spleen and stomach, and the Yangren is further covered by a net. Fortunately, the middle transmission and final transmission can remove the Yangren and control the official ghost, so there is still a chance of recovery. Traveling is blocked because there is a net in front and the post-horse falls into an empty position, plus the mutual harm between the branches and stems, so it is certain that the journey cannot be made. The traveler meets Tiangang added to the four central positions, with obstacles on the way, leading to a slow and delayed arrival. In military affairs, because the stems and branches mutually control each other and neither can overpower the other, the situation is mediocre day and night, with no complete victory.

The Bi Fa Fu says: Most plans are clumsy because they have encountered the heaven net and earth trap; couples fall into vulgar and licentious behavior, each harboring private intentions; mutual suspicion arises because of the six harmful combinations. The Ke Jing says: On a Renwu day stem, if the Zi trigram appears, it cannot be definitely considered as vulgar and licentious; it is only that one agrees first but then neglects the other, lacking affection and integrity. The stem and branch Zi and Wei form the six harmful combinations, which also indicate mutual suspicion between the two parties.

On the Guiwei day, first arrangement: the stem is on Chou.

This lesson has two patterns: Hidden Chant and Self-Responsibility. The rhyme says: In the four lessons, the spirit of Ding is everywhere; wealth lures people into the storage of fire; although one has luckily obtained wealth, one must not turn back to seek more.

Ding fire is the wealth for Gui water day stem. Chou contains hidden Ding and Wei also contains hidden Ding. The four lessons are all Chou and Wei, which makes four Ding spirits in the chart. Since Ding is the wealth for the day stem, Xu is the burial place for fire. Gui water desires to obtain Ding fire wealth, but is instead led into the burial place by the wealth; although it succeeds temporarily, it should not pursue further. If it continues to seek, it will be harmed by Xu earth, and misfortune will arrive quickly.

The interpretation states: A Hidden Chant lesson is divided into two types: self-confidence and self-reliance. The nature of the lesson is originally very still, and whatever is divined is all about stillness. However, this lesson has all Ding spirits, and after one change it becomes a very active image, hence it is called "no trust, no reliance." Thus, seeking movement within stillness ultimately remains still; seeking stillness within movement ultimately remains movement—because both the Heaven Plate and Earth Plate remain in their original positions without shifting.

The heavens indicate that the divination is named "Jia Se" (Jia and Se), with all three transmissions being the Earthly Branches Chen, Xu, Chou, and Wei, which are all Earth deities. This suggests that the sky does not bring rain. For the household, because the Day Stem and Day Branch are in conflict, the people in the family and the house are not at peace, indicating disputes over land and private matters among servants and concubines. In terms of official rank, the Nobleman, the Official's Blessing, and the Post-horse do not appear, while the Official's Ghost appears frequently, indicating difficulty in obtaining official positions. For seeking wealth, one may receive money given by officials and the Nobleman, but one should be cautious not to cause trouble through wealth, and should not be greedy. In matters of marriage, because the Day Branch and Day Stem are in conflict, the first and last transmissions are in conflict, and the Azure Dragon and Heavenly Empress are also in conflict, the outcome is not auspicious.

Talent production indicates that the upper is strong and the lower is weak, with the three transmissions enveloping the yang with yin, meaning the child must be a girl. The day stem and day branch are in conflict, indicating a quick and smooth delivery. For illness, since the three transmissions are all official ghosts, the condition is certainly severe; also forming a bent waist pattern, the pain will definitely be in the waist. For travel, since the heavenly stem of this ten-day period is the issuing transmission, even someone who was waiting to stay still will certainly depart. For a traveler, since the day stem and day branch are in conflict, it means they will not return; with the heavenly stem issuing transmission, they will only keep moving without stopping. For thieves, since the heavenly stem is the issuing transmission and the three transmissions are mutually harmonious, the thieves will certainly be difficult to catch. For military affairs, whether divining during the day or at night, it is not very favorable.

The *Bifa Fu* says: When the guest and host do not get along, it is because the刑 falls on the upper god; if a self-reliant and confident divination shows the Ding god and the Post-horse, it should be interpreted as things needing to move. When the day stem is Ren or Gui water and meets the Ding god, wealth begins to move. When the day stem transmits to the day branch, it indicates that I am seeking something from the other party. The *Shenyingsheng* says: On Guiwei day, if the first transmission is Chou, Chou contains the hidden Ding, so it is because the official ghost brings wealth into motion; in the month of Chen or Xu, it is unfavorable for going out or coming in; in the month of Yin or Shen, it indicates disputes over land, property, or houses. The *Kijing* says: On Ren or Gui day, the three transmissions are Chen, Xu, Chou, and Wei. When the three transmissions conflict and injure each other, using a凶 to control another凶 is called "capturing the thief with the thief"; moreover, since there are four metal gods contained within, it can also dispel ghostly energy.

On the Guiwei day, second arrangement: the stem is on the Zi branch.

This lesson has three patterns: Shooting, Retreat and Consumption, and Sudden Leap. The rhyme says: The day stem and day branch are in harmony and smooth; the fire in the巳 position hides the Bing stem, and the final transmission is occupied by the Vermilion Bird; both visible and hidden wealth are present, so one may go forth freely.

The Earthly Branches Zi and Chou combine, as do Wu and Wei, so the upper and lower parts are harmonious and smooth. The first transmission is Si fire, the middle transmission is Chen earth, and according to the ten-day cycle, the heavenly stem is found to be Bing. The final transmission is Mao wood, which is also covered by the Vermilion Bird. Bing fire and the Vermilion Bird both belong to fire, which is the wealth of the癸 water. There is both visible and hidden wealth, so one can go ahead and use it.

The interpretation says: There is a situation of shooting back and retreating, making everything appear distant, with only retreat and no progress. The day stem and day branch each combine with the upper god, yet they conflict with each other, so there is dispersion within gathering and union within separation. However, the beginning and end follow a sequence of mutual generation, making all matters smooth. Whatever actions are taken, whether to proceed or stop, can be decisively decided, with no second thoughts. The only drawback is that the middle transmission, which is earth (辰), falls into the si (巳) palace, and both day and night are occupied by Teng Snake. This is called "two snakes enclosing the tomb." Fortunately, the lesson name is "sudden leap," and the harm caused by shooting back is already light; if it were another lesson pattern, this trouble might not be resolved.

Heavenly conditions show the Vermilion Bird flying high and the Azure Dragon hidden, with fire above and water below, suggesting rain may not come. For the household, because the Day Branch harmonizes with the branch deity and the Day Stem harmonizes with the stem deity, the people and the house are both favorable, and auspiciousness can be attracted. Regarding official rank, both the first and final transmissions are occupied by the Vermilion Bird and the Nobleman, the strong禄神 (favorable official star) is also present on the Day Stem, and the middle transmission serves as the official star, so official rank will come without needing to seek it. For seeking wealth, the wealth爻 (wealth element) is the initiating transmission, the final transmission supports the first transmission, and it has entered the warehouse, so the gain will certainly be abundant.

Marriage is favorable for both parties, but the problem is that they cannot get married. For childbirth, because the three transmissions involve a yin branch enclosing a yang branch, the child is definitely a boy; since the day branch and day stem are in conflict, childbirth is likely to be easy. For illness, because two teng snakes are enclosing the storage, the condition is most severe; fortunately, the person can overcome the illness, so there is a possibility of survival. For travel, because the post-horse is used as the initiating transmission but is located in the graveyard, it indicates obstacles on the way. The traveler meets tiangang added to the four young branches, and has not yet started moving. For military affairs, divination during the day is favorable, but at night is not advisable.

The *Bi Fa Fu* says: If the four lessons and three transmissions all show noblemen, it indicates a lack of support; if the fetal god and wealth god are riding life qi, it indicates the wife is pregnant (as in the seventh month); if the fetal god and wealth god are riding death qi, it suggests damage to the pregnancy (as in the first month). The *Liu Ren Mi Yao* says: On a Guiwei day, if the son appears on the day stem, the son is the fetal god of the day branch; if the wu appears on the day branch, the wu is the fetal god of the day stem, which is called the "mutual fetal pattern." If this is further combined with the ages of the husband and wife, the wife will definitely become pregnant, and there is no need to look for life qi and wealth god again.

On the Guiwei day, third arrangement: Heaven above Hai.

The "lesson pattern" refers to the type of structure in the divination chart. In this case, the chart includes three types: "recoil" indicates that the four lessons do not have direct mutual control, and the day stem癸 water can only control the upper god巳 fire indirectly; "intermediate transmission" refers to the three transmissions巳, 卯, and 丑 moving backward with intervals; "resolution of separation" means that the day branch and day stem each control the opposing upper gods, and they clash with each other like a split. The "lesson meaning" consists of four lines summarizing the entire chart: within the four lessons and three transmissions, there are five consecutive yin branches, creating a dark atmosphere; the two noblemen representing day and night are located in different positions, indicating discord among people; the final transmission丑 hides the god丁 from the ten-day cycle, the first transmission巳 fire is the post-horse, and the middle transmission卯 wood is accompanied by the Vermilion Bird. Therefore, the movement of the god丁, the post-horse, and the Vermilion Bird together leads to a successful journey for seeking wealth.

The explanation says: In the four lessons and three transmissions, the yin branches are connected, forming five layers. For night divination, the yin nobleman is directly above the yang nobleman used in day divination. These two noblemen serve as the first and middle transmissions respectively, so any action will inevitably involve both noblemen, making the mind difficult to focus. The final transmission is at the position of you, where the heavenly stem of this week's day is hidden, indicating change. The first transmission is si fire, which is the post-horse of the current day, indicating travel. The middle transmission has卯 wood with the Vermilion Bird riding upon it, indicating official documents and messages. When the heavenly stem, the post-horse, and the Vermilion Bird all move together, it is a clear sign of long-distance travel. Therefore, going on a journey to seek wealth will certainly result in returning with full pockets and packed bags.

The interpretation says: The combination of shooting and transmission indicates a situation where good fortune is not clearly evident and bad fortune is not deeply felt. Both sides are unable to exert force effectively, and there is always something in between. Two noblemen are involved, one above and one below, supporting each other, but the authority is not concentrated in one person. Moreover, the癸 water is in its dead position at巳 and未 earth, and the earth at亥 is also in its dead position. The day stem and day branch are both on the dead positions of each other. Therefore, in this situation, it is advisable to abandon the old residence and move to a new one, and to resign from the old position and entrust it to others. Only then can one avoid confusion and prevent future troubles.

Questioning the weather: The Yin branches connect through six layers, and the mansion of Net (which governs rain) falls in the void, so although dark clouds are dense, rain cannot form. Questioning about a residence: Although the nobleman is present over the house in the daytime, which is a good sign, the day branch and day stem clash, so the residence will not be long-lasting. Questioning about seeking wealth: The wealth element is just beginning to activate in the first transmission, and most of the gains will be from the nobleman's hands. Questioning about marriage: It is favorable for the female side but unfavorable for the male side; since the branches and stems clash, the marriage will ultimately not succeed. Questioning about childbirth: A full set of Yin branches indicates the birth of a daughter, and delivery will be quick. Questioning about illness: The person's Five Phases are reversed and overcome the illness energy, so the illness will soon recover. Questioning about travel: The post-horse is activated and the branches and stems clash, so departure is certain, and traveling by water is most favorable. Questioning about a missing person: The Tiangang (Chen) is at the middle position, so the person is still on the way. Questioning about warfare: A daytime divination is favorable, but a nighttime divination indicates stopping midway.

The *Bifa Fu* says: When six consecutive yin branches are connected, matters will be obscure and confusing. The *Ke Jing* says: On a Guiwei day, if the heavenly stem is亥 and the earthly branch is巳, this is the true *Jie Li Ke*—the day branch Wei earth overcomes the heavenly stem亥 water, and the day stem Gui water overcomes the day branch巳 fire, with both sides being incompatible. If both partners' ages also fall on these two branches, the prediction will be especially accurate. Whenever this lesson appears, the matters inquired about will certainly involve separation and disunity, mostly indicating marital discord and family disorder.
