On the Guimao day, the ninth division: the stem is on the巳 position.
Charting guides: Da Liu Ren Chart Calculator, Jin Kou Jue Chart
This lesson's pattern is involved in harm, "From Reform" (the three transmissions Si, You, and Chou form a metal trinity, taking the meaning from the Book of Documents, "The Metal is called From Reform"), "No Offspring" (the grandson's yao is restrained and does not exist), and Guchen. The lesson's meaning states: the upper spirits of the four lessons are all attacked and overcome by the lower spirits; the lesson's name is No Offspring, indicating the loss of the last generation and the extinction of the clan. Fortunately, the heavenly general during the day supports the three transmissions, removing the calamity and bringing in good fortune.
The spirits above the four lessons are all defeated and overcome by the spirits below, so the hexagram is named "No Succession." The heavenly general for the day is entirely of earth, and all together they overcome the day stem; fortunately, the three transmissions form a metal trinity, stealing away the earth energy and transforming it to nourish the癸 water, turning disaster into blessing—this is not precisely driving away calamity and welcoming good fortune?
The interpretation says: This is a lesson of metal transformation. The three transmissions form a metal structure that overcomes the day branch but benefits the day stem. Although a person may have a wealthy family background, they do not have a proper main house, or they may wish to abandon their land and property and flee elsewhere. The five positions of the lesson are connected by successive yin spirits, indicating confusion and obscurity in affairs. The tomb spirit covers the day branch, so the house will not be bright or spacious. Only officials who take this lesson will have the official star and the seal thread appearing together, showing the atmosphere of renewal and transformation described in the Zhou Changes (I Ching) hexagrams of Revolution and Cauldron.
Heavenly weather: The Tiangang points to the yang position, and the three transmissions support the day stem, indicating clear skies with no rain. Career: The nobleman and the official god both fall into the empty period, and it will be favorable when the real god fills the empty position. Residence: The day branch is occupied by theTomb Spirit of the day branch, indicating instability in the house. Wealth: The wealth element has fallen into emptiness, which is unfavorable. Marriage: The woman is dull and talkative, which is unfavorable. Pregnancy and childbirth: Yin reaches its extreme and yang energy regenerates, indicating the birth of a boy. Disease: It is a disease related to the earth element, and it is unfavorable in the seventh month. Travel: Neither waterway nor land route is smooth. Travelers: The final transmission falls into emptiness, indicating the person has not arrived yet. Military: It is favorable for the distant foreign forces, but unfavorable for the defending side.
The *Bifa Fu* says: When the transmission falls into theTomb Spirit (burial god) and comes from theTomb Spirit, one should distinguish between aversion and affection; when water day meets the spirit of Ding, the wealth hexagram is activated. The *Liu Yin Zhi Nan* records: In the year Xinwei, in the sixth lunar month, at the hour of卯 (Goat), a diviner was asked to predict an official's petition. The diviner asked, "Since the three transmissions and the heavenly general are in reverse generation, does this mean recommending someone?" The other person replied, "No, it means accusing someone." The diviner said, "Although the three transmissions are in successive generation, the first and last transmissions fall into empty positions, leaving only the middle transmission as the annual broken spirit, acting as the official ghost to harm the day stem; also, the sovereign year is located at the house position, riding on the Vermilion Bird to harm the day stem. The sovereign year represents the sovereign, and the broken spirit represents the prime minister, so it is feared that both the sovereign and the prime minister will be offended, and the divination indicates an unfavorable situation." Later, the person was indeed imprisoned for submitting a petition recommending someone and was sentenced to exile. The *Zuanyi* says: When the酉 (Rooster) rides on the Tian Kong (Heavenly Void) and is placed on the巳 (Snake), one should beware of servants or concubines stealing property and fleeing.
On the Guimao day, the tenth arrangement: the stem is on the hour of Chen.
The lesson pattern of this divination is repeated review, cutting off the gate, and "three intersections" (the day stem and day branch interact with the upper god, mutually attacking and restraining each other, entangled with one another). The lesson meaning states: the禄神, nobleman, 丁神, and wealth hexagram, together with the storage, all meet at once; if they remain stationary, there will be confusion and lack of clarity, but if they move, it will be smooth and prosperous.
It is explained that Chen is the storage for Gui water. Now it is placed above the day stem. If one clings solely to this storage, it will naturally lead to confusion and darkness. But if one leaves it and seeks out the three transmissions, then You has the Ding god, which is the wealth god of the day stem; Zi is the禄 god of the day stem; and Mao is the night nobleman of the day stem. All three good elements come together, achieving the utmost success. Without movement, how could one obtain these benefits.
The interpretation states: In the case of three-way interaction, the day stem and day branch mutually control and restrain each other. The卯 branch of the day branch further controls the辰 earth of the day stem. Meanwhile, the癸 water of the day stem controls the午 fire of the day branch. This cross-control indicates that the two people are like the stars Shen and Shang, which do not harmonize with each other. If both partners' ages fall on the辰 or午, the hexagram is called "Disunion," which does not mean the loss of a spouse, but rather mutual hostility and estrangement. Fortunately, the午 is actual and the辰 is empty, and the three transmissions also meet the god of officialdom, so it is still favorable for official career.
Heavenly weather: The tomb god covers the day stem, and the tiangang points to the yin position, indicating the image of rain and clouds. Residence: The defeated qi god initiates, both stealing the day stem and harming the day branch, leading to domestic discord, indicating the image of decline and decay. Career: Both the nobleman and the禄 god appear, which is most auspicious for seeking official rank. Wealth: A water day meets the ding god, ensuring certain gain in wealth matters. Marriage: There is a fear of punishment and injury. Pregnancy: The fetus is female, the mother will experience a shock, and the child will be difficult to raise.
Disease: Wu fire belongs to the heart, the illness is in the heart meridian; if divined at night, the kidney water is deficient. The illness is in a real place while the person's destiny is in an empty place, making it difficult to recover. Travel: going by land is not auspicious, but going by water can bring wealth. Travelers: they will arrive after the current ten-day period. Capturing thieves: if divined during the day, the thief is in the northeast direction near the stove; if divined at night, the thief is in the due north area among the bamboo grove. Military affairs: both sides will suffer defeat; if divined at night, the enemy can be captured.
The "Bifa Fu" says: Spouses each have private feelings; host and guest do not harmonize because the upper deity is in conflict; on a day of water, if the丁 is present, the wealth line is activated. The "Ke Jing" says: In spring, use the酉 general; on aGuimao day, the酉 is placed on the午, and it is placed on the four central position and initiates transmission. The handle of the ladle is between丑 and未, which is called "Er Fan Ke." The "Mi Yao" says: The午 and酉 mutually add upon each other and are multiplied by Gou Chen, indicating that a woman in childbirth at home is startled, and the time of occurrence is on the寅 day. The "Zhi Zhang Fu" says: The寅 carries the Black Tortoise and meets the巳, symbolizing a Taoist alchemist. It also says: The酉 is placed on the午, indicating a favored servant entering the hall; if it also meets the Six Harmonies, it certainly indicates domestic disorder. It also says: The申 carries the Six Harmonies, symbolizing a doctor.
On the Guimao day, the eleventh section: the stem is on the卯.
The lesson pattern is "remote control" (the four lessons do not have direct mutual control; instead, the god at the distant position is taken as the initiating transmission). It is also "hao shi" (in remote control, when the lower god controls the upper one, it is called hao shi, like an arrow made from hemp and reed, with weak power). It is also "li de" and "bu bei." The lesson meaning says: the three transmissions are connected to the day stem and day branch, proceeding from the lower to the upper in successive mutual generation. The source of water is drained, and the roots of wood are cut off, indicating illness and legal disputes as two bad events.
The Three Transmissions are generated from top to bottom, and the Four Lessons are generated from bottom to top. The original vital energy flows outward unchecked, hence the water source is drained and the roots of the wood are cut off. Illness arises from lack of restraint and proper care, leading to a condition of deficiency that is difficult to treat. Legal disputes originate within the family itself, which is referred to as 'self-inflicted evil nest' in the壬 book — the source of misfortune lies within one's own household.
The interpretation says: Without proper preparation, all six positions of the four lessons and three transmissions are yin, leading to confusion and lack of clarity regarding internal matters, which is unfavorable for official duties. The蒿矢 lesson itself has weak power, and the initiating transmission involves the蓦越 god, making it even more superficial. Moreover, it falls into an empty and barren position, leaving no real traces. However, if the native's birth year or current year is on寅 and is occupied by Tiangang, and is flanked by the day and night noblemen, then passing the examination and securing an official position is certain.
Heavenly Weather: The Tiangang points to the Yang position, the Vermilion Bird initiates the transmission, and both the Middle Transmission and Final Transmission are supported by Earth, so rain cannot come down. Residence: Both the day and night Noblemen drain the vital energy of the Day Stem and Day Branch, so one will certainly spend money for entertaining the Noblemen. Career: The two Noblemen together, with the day Nobleman and night Nobleman both appearing, will certainly pass the high examination. Wealth: The wealth爻 at the residence position is empty, and it can only be obtained after this旬. Marriage: Both the Day Stem and Day Branch are occupied by Noblemen, indicating that the two families are of equal status.
Fetus and childbirth: Divination during the day shows that Liu He is under attack, indicating a male fetus, but there is fear that the child may not survive after birth. Disease: The illness is in the heart meridian, and it will recover soon. Travel: Divination during the day suggests traveling by water is acceptable, and traveling by land at night is also acceptable, but loss of belongings and expenses are inevitable. Traveler: The post-horse has already returned to the dwelling position and will arrive after this ten-day period. Military: The wealth sign is incomplete, indicating insufficient military supplies. Graveyard: The facing mountain directly opposite is favorable, which can bring wealth.
The "Bifa Fu" says: If the daytime nobleman and the nighttime nobleman are combined, they can assist in seeking help from two noblemen at the same time. The "Liu Ren Zhi Nan" records: In the year of Jiazi, in the fourth month, with the general of Shen and the time of Wu, a divination was made. The interpreter said: The time of the divination coincides with the fetal god of the day stem, so it must be about pregnancy. The person asked whether the child would be male or female. The interpreter said: The卯 (Mao) on the day stem corresponds to the Zhen hexagram in the "Zhou Yi", which represents the elder son; the卯 is also the nighttime nobleman. All four lessons and three transmissions are purely yin spirits. When yin reaches its extreme, yang energy regenerates, so it is certain that a noble son will be born. Moreover, the day branch is added to the day stem, which symbolizes looking down at a son, indicating a smooth delivery. However, since the four lessons are not complete, there is a fear that the child may not be born full-term. The person then asked when the child would be born, and the interpreter answered: In the sixth month. Later, all the predictions were accurate. (The original text mistakenly wrote "dry" instead of "at")
On the Guimao day, the twelfth layout: the stem is on the寅 branch.
The lesson pattern of this divination is repeated review, advancement, dragon struggle, cutting off the gate, and guasu. The meaning of the lesson states: all the way ahead is entirely kongwang, so nothing is settled; inevitably there will be a lot of wasted effort, and both illness and legal troubles will come together.
It is explained that the characters Chen, Si, and Wu serve as the Three Transmissions, all falling into an empty and barren position. Therefore, nothing can be found in reality, only empty sounds. The wood of Yin, located on the Day Stem, is in the position of illness for the water of Gui. It steals the energy of the Day Stem, and this leakage flows into the Initiating Transmission of Chen earth. The Tiangang Chen earth, during the night, takes on the Teng Snake, acting as both the official ghost and the storage place for the water of Gui, pressing down upon the Day Stem. Therefore, both illness and legal troubles are certain to occur.
The interpretation states: This is a cutting-off-the-gate pattern, indicating that matters are not under one's own control. One is forced to act by circumstances, with a net set ahead and a Yangren obstructing the way, making it unfavorable to take any action. The day stem is affected by a spirit that is a detached qi, riding on the Black Tortoise, leading to possible loss or escape during the day. The day branch is influenced by the Teng Snake at night, along with theTomb Spirit (grave spirit) which restrains the day stem, resulting in unavoidable alarm. If one can retreat and protect the寅木 (寅 wood) on the day stem, although it is a stealing and dispersing qi, it can still resist the official ghost, allowing one to remain content with simplicity and poverty.
Heavenly conditions: The day stem and day branch each carry the heavenly net and earthly trap, the tomb god initiates the transmission, and dark clouds fill the sky but no rain falls. Residential conditions: The earth branch above the day stem is earth and it both restrains the day stem and is the tomb of the day stem, indicating misfortune for people and darkness in the house. Career prospects: Heavenly virtue, nobleman, and post-horse all fall empty, indicating unfavorable official fortune. Seeking wealth: All wealth signs are empty, so nothing can be obtained. Marriage: The day branch is in the tomb and the day stem is drained, indicating inauspiciousness for both families. Pregnancy: The fetal god is empty and meets the end, indicating inauspiciousness for pregnancy. Illness: The spleen and stomach are injured, the illness god is empty, but recovery is still possible. Travel: Traveling by water is dangerous, and traveling by land requires caution against losing belongings. Travelers: The three transmissions are empty, and the person has not arrived yet. Military: The black tortoise is added to the day stem, requiring vigilance against enemy attacks on the camp.
The *Bifa Fu* says: When the three transmissions fall into Kongwang, it is suitable to retreat; the affairs planned are mostly clumsy, because one has entered a trap; when the day stem's墓 and the斩关 appear together, both the person and the house will be abandoned (this refers to summer divination); if both the coming and going paths are Kongwang, then what is the point of moving or traveling. The *Gujian* records: In the year of Wushen, in the ninth month, a divination was made at the time of寅 for the burial site. The diviner said: The day stem and day branch are both occupied by the Nobleman, so this site is good. Chou represents the tomb, which is also the position where the癸 stem resides; the墓 of癸 is in Chen, and when Chen meets Kongwang, it becomes an empty tomb; the opposite of Chen is You, which also meets Kongwang, thus also an empty grave. One should avoid these two places before burial, and later there will be a nobleman. Moreover, Shen and You are the water mothers of this day, and they oppose the wood of寅, indicating the water mouth and the stars are compatible. Si also represents pairs, and with the Vermilion Bird on Chen, it forms two round peaks, which are the literary stars, and the son born will be able to pass the examination and succeed. All these predictions were later verified.
On the Jiachen day, first arrangement: stem above Yin
This lesson pattern is a hidden chant, "self-reliance" (in a hidden chant lesson, the initiating transmission comes from the god above the day stem, and the matter depends entirely on oneself), and original embryo. The lesson meaning says: Heavenly Virtue and the禄神 are both in Kongwang; during the day, the White Tiger is accompanied by the official ghost, indicating a very ominous situation; those whose destiny belongs to fire can overcome metal and resolve misfortune, while those whose destiny belongs to earth should be afraid.
The explanation says: Yin is both the Heavenly Virtue and the禄神 of Jia day, but it is in the旬空, thus powerless to act and cannot bring about good fortune. The final transmission, Shen, is the official ghost of Jia wood, and during the day it is riding the White Tiger, indicating a very凶 situation. If the person consulting has a birth sign of fire, fire can overcome metal, thus this calamity can be resolved. If the birth sign is earth, earth will generate metal and strengthen the official ghost, which would be even more dangerous. As for those with birth signs of metal or wood or water, they can be interpreted in the same way.
The interpretation states: In the self-occupied hexagram, the three transmissions are寅 (Yin), 申 (Shen), and 寅 (Yin), all falling in the position of the first month. The structure also matches the original embryo pattern, indicating that matters are hidden and concealed, with people harboring doubts. It is advisable to remain calm and stay in a suitable position; any hasty actions will bring misfortune. Moreover, the official star and the post-horse are both in empty and declining positions, which is unfavorable for officials. The White Tiger brings the ghost of officials to cause harm, and ordinary people should especially avoid this. The cutting gate indicates the danger of running away or fleeing, while Guchen signifies separation and sorrow. The matter is illusory and will not succeed; even if it does, it will change. Only monks and Taoists who take monastic vows will find this divination favorable.
Weather: There will be little rain, with thunder, lightning, hail, or severe cold. Residence: The household is gradually declining, and one should be cautious of someone committing some wrongdoing and then fleeing. Fame and reputation: It is likely to be empty fame; it is favorable if the month of Yin is involved. Wealth: It is best to keep the existing property quiet and undisturbed. Marriage: The male side is unwilling. Pregnancy: It is a servant woman who is pregnant, indicating a female child; one should take more medicine for care. Illness: It is ominous during the day.
Lost items: The thing hasn't left the house, but it is hidden somewhere difficult to find. Travel: The journey will be postponed. A traveler: The person hasn't arrived yet. Lawsuit: Few people will speak on my behalf, and the daytime divination is unfavorable. Capturing thieves: It was done by one's own servant, and the stolen goods are buried in the earth of a graveyard. Military affairs: There is an indication of losing the people's support.
The "Bifa Fu" says: When the guest and host do not harmonize, it is due to the heavenly spirits being in conflict; the White Tiger, accompanied by the day stem's official ghost, arrives with misfortune quickly. The "Zanyao" says: On a Jiachen day, the禄神 and驿马 both fall into Kongwang, which is one of the "Ten Evils Great Defeats." It also says: If the day stem is on寅, people are lazy to seek wealth because they fear disputes. The "Shenjiang Lun" says: Gongcao, the general of寅wood, riding the Azure Dragon symbolizes a Taoist priest, while riding the Teng Snake indicates strange creatures like cats and raccoons. If the Liu He is on辰, there is an event of slaughtering livestock at home. The White Tiger on申 symbolizes carrying messages; the Heavenly Empress on申 symbolizes a woman preparing for appearance. The "Yucheng Ge" says: The Heavenly Horse, which is on寅 in May and October, and theThe Post-horse forming the first transmission, with the star参 and White Tiger moving, indicates the deity of travel (申 is the star参).
On the Jiachen day, second arrangement: the dry branch is on Chou.
This lesson pattern is "Knowing One," "Retreating Vegetables," and "Heavy Yin" (the three transmissions are Zi, Hai, and Xu, all in Yin positions, each layer deeper than the last). The lesson meaning says: advancing forward leads to loss, retreating backward brings benefit; the wealth indicated by the final transmission, Xu earth, will certainly be lost; in winter, daylight is disturbed by a sudden fire alarm; the nobleman is directly covering the day stem.
The explanation says: Jia wood is originally in寅, moving forward to卯, but卯 is exactly in the empty month period, so advancing leads to loss; retreating to子 and亥 water brings mutual generation, so retreating brings benefit. The final transmission is戌, which is the wealth hexagram, and both day and night generals are riding the Black Tortoise, indicating certain loss. The卯 wood is riding the Vermilion Bird to control the dwelling position, and in winter, the卯 wood produces fire, which becomes the ghost that controls the dwelling, so an alarm from fire is natural.丑 is the nobleman of the day, now covering the day stem: for a gentleman, this is what the Zhou Changes call 'beneficial to meet a great man'; for an ordinary person, it indicates interference from the authorities.
The interpretation says: Knowing one hexagram, the matter originates from people of the same kind, with kindness mixed with harm. Only when both sides are harmonious will it be auspicious. On the person's side, there is an empty situation; on the house's side, there is a loss. Where they are compatible, there is also mutual punishment, indicating that host and guest are not in harmony, and the matter sought cannot be accomplished. Moreover, the nobleman is acting as the tomb god of the empty situation, making it unsuitable to seek official position. In autumn, there is a favorable omen for acquiring talent; in spring and summer, one can only calmly maintain the existing situation. It is best to seek transformation amidst difficulties and to generate new ideas from old foundations. Rash actions bring no benefit.
Weather: Continuous rain for a long time, with rare clear days. Residence: The Vermilion Bird harms the house position, so be careful of fire in winter. Career: Someone must help from the side, there is still hope in difficulty. Seeking wealth: Even if obtained, it will certainly be lost again. Marriage: Easy to agree, but not auspicious.
The "Bifa Fu" says: Tiankui (Xu) crosses over Tianmen (Hai), and the barriers are already fixed. The "Ke Jing" says: Chou is the broken evil spirit on the day of Jia, and the卯 on the day branch is the Yang Rende of Jia wood. One should abandon these two and instead use the Zi water and Hai water in the three transmissions to nourish the day stem, which is called "sheshenjiuyi" (abandoning loss for gain). It also says: The Chou on the day stem is the wealth yao acting as a closed deity, and when it meets the禄 deity as a closed deity, or the food deity falls into Kongwang, it is considered the same, and it is not suitable for divination regarding illness. The "Zhipang Fu" says: Zi, Hai, and Xu are heavy yin, and they are content with the virtue of "Jia Dun Zhen Ji" (auspicious retreat) in the Zhou Yi Duan hexagram, preferring to retreat for life. The "Shenjiang Huihan" says: Hai placed on Zi symbolizes a child, and Chou meeting Kongwang symbolizes a short person.
On the Jiachen day, third arrangement: the stem is on the Zi position.
This divination case has the lesson pattern of involvement, intermediate transmission, "contradiction" (the three transmissions could originally form a fire pattern, but the intermediate transmission of Shen metal interrupts it, causing mutual control and a twisted energy flow), "closed mouth" (the Black Tortoise initiates the transmission, indicating something that cannot be spoken), and virtue. The lesson meaning states: the superior person bends down to accept wealth; the final transmission of Wu fire supports the initial transmission's wealth; all six positions of the four lessons and three transmissions are yang spirits; however, the middle transmission of Shen metal rides the White Tiger, making it particularly awkward.
It is explained that the earth of the hour Chen is the wealth hexagram for the wood of Jia. The day stem falls upon it, which is like a superior person bending down to obtain wealth. The final transmission's fire of Wu generates the initial transmission's earth of Xu, which represents wealth, making it seem as if there is an abundance of wealth that cannot be used up. However, all six positions of the four lessons and three transmissions are occupied by yang spirits, which are favorable for official matters but not suitable for personal possessions. Moreover, the middle transmission's metal of Shen, riding on the white tiger during the day, both steals away the wealth energy and brings misfortune to the day stem, creating a particularly awkward and uncomfortable situation, which cannot be ignored with caution.
The interpretation states: The hexagram indicates troubles and confusion in the mind; the three transmissions proceed in reverse, moving backward and passing through separated positions, suggesting many obstacles in the matter. Although the day stem is associated with life qi, at night the heavenly general is the white tiger, transforming life qi into defeated qi. If one is tempted by the wealth of the戌 earth, it will lead to the realm of officials and loss, meaning someone will first lure you with benefits, and later harm you. The dwelling position falls on kongwang, so one must beware of loss and waste. The white tiger brings the official ghost of the day stem, indicating certain misfortune and hardship. The yuanwu initiates the transmission, which is called closing the mouth, meaning one will not want to talk about matters.
Heavenly weather: cloudy with no clearing, it will only improve when the wind rises. Residence: poor and wasteful, also indicating disobedient superiors and secret departures. Achieving fame: originally intended to succeed, but obstructed in the middle. Seeking wealth: gains and losses are equal, and someone will secretly help. Marriage: not suitable and cannot be concluded. Pregnancy and childbirth: the fetal god is sitting on the position of growth, the pregnancy is safe but childbirth is unfavorable. Illness: unable to speak, ominous in the day, and in the month of辰 there is a symptom of bleeding.
Lost items: Those who see them will not speak; the thief himself will fall into the trap. Travel: The main reason is to escape due to some hidden matters. Traveler: He will arrive soon. Lawsuits: All money and bribes will go to the authorities, and both parties will suffer losses. Military: It is suitable to intimidate the enemy with false displays and also to search for spies. Graveyard: It will bring prosperity, but it will be a nominal title or a secondary position.
The *Bifa Fu* says: If the official star falls on the day branch, authority will be unjust and words will not be in order; if the White Tiger carries the day stem's official ghost and comes to join, misfortune will come quickly; a closed mouth hexagram should be analyzed in two different situations; the final transmission supports the first transmission, and there are three secondary categories to consider. The *Ding'E* says: Wu and Wu can originally form a fire trinity, but in between there is a Shen metal, which instead creates a conflicting situation, so it is called "contradictory"; whenever the day is Yin, this conflict will become evident. The *Zhonghuang Jing* says: If the White Tiger, Heavenly Empress, and Teng Snake all attack the day stem, the illness will certainly worsen.
On the Jiachen day, the fourth arrangement: the heavenly stem is on the亥 position.
The lesson pattern of this divination is "Hao Shi" and "Yuan Tai." The meaning of the lesson says: although the day stem is riding on the water of亥 which signifies growth, one must not become complacent or slack; the illness will ease, and legal matters will ease, but the root of worry still remains.
It is explained that although Jia Wood gains the support of the Longevity God,亥 water, which is placed upon the day stem, it should not become complacent or slack. The first transmission,申 metal, is the official ghost, and during the day it is accompanied by the White Tiger, which indicates a very dangerous omen for matters related to illness or litigation. Fortunately, the亥 water both drains the energy of the申 metal and turns to support the day stem. Moreover, the middle transmission is able to restrain the申 metal, thus easing the conditions of illness and litigation. However, in the original hexagram, the four Longevity Gods are mutually generating each other continuously, forming an unending chain, so it is likely that the trouble cannot be completely eliminated, and the concern and anxiety can never be entirely dispelled.
The interpretation says: The蒿矢 hexagram indicates that both misfortune and good fortune are light, and the matter comes from afar and is not to be feared. However, the initiating transmission is specifically the metal of Shen, and the day is also accompanied by the White Tiger. This is like a bundle of grass arrows fitted with a metal tip, thus possessing the power to cause harm; all worries and troubles will arise from the southwest. The nobleman is located in the day branch, capable of capturing the White Tiger and releasing the official ghost, thus resolving disputes and grievances for the person. If this is divined at night, it becomes the broken calamity, indicating that the family dwelling will surely be damaged. However, for those in official positions, this is a promoting official symbol, and promotion is certain in the year or month of Yin.
Weather: In summer, thunder and rain prevail; in winter, snow and ice prevail. Residence: Be cautious of sudden disputes and gossip. Official rank: The official of merit is in a void position; be careful of being penalized and losingofficial stipend. In the month of寅, there is benefit in having talent. Seeking wealth: The god of wealth is silent; there is no way to seek official position. Marriage: The divination indicates separation, which is very unfavorable. Pregnancy: The child born will be mute. Illness: The person will be unable to speak or eat, or suffer from swollen throat. In the months of巳 and酉, there will be pus and blood.
Lost item: Those who saw it are unwilling to speak. Travel: Not favorable for visiting noblemen, favorable for taking office. Traveler: Still on the way, there will be a false alarm on the way. Lawsuit: The nobleman keeps silent and does not come forward to mediate. Capturing thieves: In the south, near a well, in a place facing west towards east, there is a person singing and herding sheep. Military: No obvious advantage. Grave site: The main direction is northwest, beware of flooding and theft.
The *Bifa Fu* says: Spouses each harbor private feelings; the White Tiger carries the official ghost of the day stem and comes to rest upon it, bringing sudden misfortune; a closed mouth hexagram should be analyzed in two different situations. The *Ke Jing* says: The earth dog on the day stem produces the metal of the monkey, although the monkey is an official ghost in the first transmission, it turns to generate the water of the pig, and the water of the pig then generates the day stem, which is a fortunate outcome amid misfortune. The *Xiu Zhong Jin* says: The initiating transmission comes from the second lesson, which is when two lessons above the day stem contend with each other, making it difficult to accomplish tasks. The *Shen Ying Jing* says: The day stem overcomes the ox on the day branch, and the ox in turn overcomes the pig on the day stem, which is called the "Dispersing Fire Hexagram."
