Charting guides: Da Liu Ren Chart Calculator, Jin Kou Jue Chart

The four lessons have the lower trigram overcoming the upper one, and the use is still called "re-examination"; since the four lessons do not fill four positions, it is called "incomplete"; the three transmissions are transmitted through the positions of You, Hai, and Xu, with one character skipped in between, hence called "intermediate transmission"; the day stem is placed above the day branch, like a son-in-law living with his wife's family, hence called "赘婿". The meaning of the divination says: both the day stem and the day branch are occupied by the nobleman, meaning both the person and the house are of high status; the three transmissions do not go beyond the four lessons, circulating repeatedly without end; You is the wealth trigram for Ding day and is located on the day stem, meaning wealth comes to the person naturally; the final transmission, Xu earth, again turns back to generate the initial transmission's wealth, making the wealth even more substantial.

The day stem is accompanied by a nobleman from the night, and the day branch is accompanied by a nobleman from the day. The self and the residence each have one nobleman, which is called having noblemen on both ends. The three transmissions are all taken from the four lessons, and they move among these few without going beyond, which is the image of endless cycles. The酉 (You) is originally the wealth hexagram for a day stem of 丁 (Ding), and now it is on top of the day stem, meaning wealth has come to me on its own. Moreover, the final transmission, 丑 (Chou) earth, turns back to generate the initial transmission's wealth. Is there a stronger prosperity for wealth than this?

The divination for a stepson-in-law is also called凝阴, which signifies the gathering of yin energy. It is suitable for secret planning but not for public actions. If the day stem carries the Ding spirit and the day branch carries the post-horse, and the three transmissions transform wealth into ghosts, it is best to carry money to seek the nobleman or to use clean ritual vessels to serve the deities. Dispensing wealth can prevent misfortune. If the native's destiny or the current year's position falls on Shen, success in exams is assured.

Divination for weather: The deity of the Net mansion initiates the transmission, and the entire transmission consists of yin deities, indicating continuous rain. Divination for the household: Officials and ghosts are riding the nobleman, indicating that there must be spirits causing trouble in the house. Divination for official rank: Although there are many noblemen, they cannot be clearly distinguished. Divination for seeking wealth: If divined at night, one can obtain wealth from the nobleman. Divination for marriage: The two families are of equal status, but there is a slight deficiency. Divination for pregnancy: The transmission has no yang energy, indicating that the fetus is female. Divination for illness: The illness is in the heart meridian, or it could be a headache. Divination for lost items: The Black Tortoise is not present, indicating that the item was lost by a servant. Divination for travel: Traveling by land is auspicious, but traveling by water requires caution against loss. Divination for a traveler: The Tiangang is placed in the position of the four young months, indicating that the person has not yet started traveling. Divination for warfare: There is no major danger, but it is only auspicious if divined in autumn.

The "Bifa Fu" says, "If both the lesson and the transmission are occupied by noblemen, they lose their support; during day and night, the nobleman should be added to seek two noblemen." When the lesson and transmission are everywhere occupied by noblemen, they actually lose their support; during the day and night, the nobleman should be added to seek two noblemen at the same time. The "Gujian" records a case: a person born in the year Renxu used the hour of Chen in the hour of Wu to cast a divination for legal matters. The diviner said that all the positions were occupied by noblemen, indicating that the official handling the case would be changed; the year pillar fell on寅, which is the parent's yao of the day stem, and the parent transformed into an official who harmed the native's fate, indicating that a superior had become an opponent; the position on Chou was occupied by Tai Yin, and the matter in question was a piece of land with unclear ownership. Later, everything turned out exactly as he had predicted.

Shao Gong's "Duanyan" records that he divined a family's home, saying that Ding represents a person with only one foot in the Six Rens system, and You represents a young woman; since You is overcome by Ding, the family should have a young daughter, perhaps disturbed by evil spirits. Later it indeed came true. Another person used Yin as the general and started the class at the Zi hour to divinate an adopted son. Shao Gong said: You, the household spirit, hides Ding, which is unstable; You is also Ding's wife, and Hai is the son of You - if the wife already has a biological son, how could she care for the adopted one? Fortunately, an old woman took care of him, but when the old woman died, the child would surely leave. Later it indeed came true.

Dingyou day, twelfth section, Heaven pillar on Shen.

The four lessons contain two instances of mutual control among similar elements; we select the one that harmonizes with the day stem to initiate the transmission, hence the name "knowing one." The three transmissions proceed in the order of Shen, Hai, and Yin, advancing sequentially, like pulling out a reed with its roots, hence the name "progressing with the roots." The chart also shows the Tiangang breaking through, hence the inclusion of the cutting passage. The meaning of the chart states: the three transmissions end at the place of decline and burial for Ding fire, indicating that going out to trade is absolutely not advisable; one can only rely entirely on the戌 earth in the day branch—since戌 represents servants in Six Rats divination—to defend against all ghosts, thus avoiding unnecessary hardship.

The fire of Ding is in its critical state in the亥 position. Now this critical element is also present on the墓 position, so any further action in the matter should be avoided. The metal in the申 position, which is originally the wealth element for the day stem, has transformed into a ghost element, so going out to do business is not advisable. If one steps back and remains within one's proper role, one can use the earth in the戌 position to resist these ghosts. In the Six Rains system, the戌 represents servants who can protect their master from disasters and troubles, thus avoiding a lot of hardship.

The Three Marvels lesson is favorable, with the three transmissions connected and progressing smoothly. The Nobleman is also used to initiate the transmission, and wealth and joy fall upon oneself, which can be considered a good omen. However, the Day Stem is occupied by Tian Luo (Heavenly Net) and the Day Branch is occupied by Di Wang (Earthly Net), so the net surrounds the person. It is advisable to remain content with one's current situation and avoid reckless actions. The official star is in a strong position, indicating that those in official positions may achieve remarkable success. The亥 (Hai) and戌 (Xu) are not harmonious, leading to a cold and distant family atmosphere. Moreover, the墓 (grave) of Ding fire falls on the Day Branch酉 (You), known as the opening of the grave, which is particularly unfavorable for predicting illness.

Divination on weather: If all three transmissions belong to water and overcome the day stem, it indicates continuous rain and clouds. Divination on the household: The two noblemen appear close to each other during day and night, and the descendants' trigram supports the house, indicating a prosperous family. Divination on official rank: The three marvels enter the transmission, and the gained prestige will certainly be respected. Divination on wealth: One's own wealth can be kept, and external wealth should not be sought. Divination on marriage: One heavenly stem and one earthly branch fall into the墓 and病 positions respectively, indicating an unfavorable marriage. Divination on pregnancy: The lower is strong and the upper is weak, indicating a female fetus; with the combination of heaven's net and earth's net, childbirth will be very difficult. Divination on illness: Abdominal pain and diarrhea belong to the spleen, or it may be due to weakness in the heart meridian; if the personal year falls in the酉 or亥 positions, it is especially dangerous. Divination on travel: Water paths are not favorable. Divination on a traveler: The Tiangang is located at the four central positions, indicating the person is still on the way. Divination on warfare: It is only suitable to be cautious and defensive, any movement will certainly be unfavorable. Divination on graves: The dragon comes from the乾 direction, the direction is set to 丙 or丁, the nobleman is present on the grave, after relocation and burial, it can produce noble people.

The "Bifa Fu" says, "When the Three Marvels appear within the three transmissions, one's status is esteemed, but one's plans are clumsy and fall into a trap, though many ghosts are present, they are not feared if they are controlled." If the three transmissions meet the Three Marvels, one's status is esteemed, but if one falls into the heavenly and earthly nets, one's plans are clumsy and difficult to achieve, though many ghosts are present, as long as they are controlled, they are not to be feared. The "Ke Jing" says that the hour of Zi is the fetal god, and if Chou is added on top of Zi, it is called the fetal abdomen pattern. The "Yucheng Ge" says that if the ghost of the day stem is on the day branch, officials will come knocking; it also says that if the virtue god is activated, good fortune follows, but if it is harmed or punished, it turns from good to dangerous. The "Zhipang Fu" says that Tai Chang and the Nobleman entering the official territory indicates a high-ranking official in power. The "Guangming Jing" says that if the魁罡 meets You, it is the atmosphere of carving dragons and tigers; if the Nobleman and Heavenly Empress are on Chen, it is the art of stepping on the罡 and walking the stars.

On the Wuxu day, first arrangement: stem on Si

Heavenly and earthly plates are each in their proper positions, still forming a hidden chant; the three transmissions, which are巳, 申, and 寅, mutually punish and clash, with the initial signs of energy, hence called "original embryo"; the lesson shows the Tiangang taking a direct path, hence accompanied by a cutting gate; the Wuxu and the day stem share the same energy, having no matching partner, hence called "solitary辰". The lesson meaning says: from the first transmission to the final transmission, the course is gradually encroaching and attacking; during the day, the three transmissions are occupied by Gou Chen, White Tiger, and Teng Snake, which are凶 spirits in command; at night, the heavenly general is replaced by Heavenly Empress and Azure Dragon, so the凶 energy does not become rampant.

The first transmission overcomes the middle transmission, the middle overcomes the final, and the final comes back to overcome the day stem. The three transmissions overcome each other in layers, and the person divined will surely be bullied by others. If this is divined during the day, the generals accompanying the three transmissions are Teng Snake and White Tiger, which arevicious forces, making the danger hard to describe. If it is divined at night, these are replaced by Heavenly Empress and Azure Dragon, two auspicious generals, who fall on the middle and final transmissions and instead support the first transmission, so the evil influence does not become rampant.

The textbook onHidden Chant indicates a situation that favors stillness, especially since the initiating transmission falls onKongwang, which is a time for stillness rather than action. On one hand, the final transmission, which is寅 wood, supports and nourishes the initial transmission,巳 fire, and this fire in turn supports the day stem and branch. On the other hand, the three transmissions together successively attack the day stem. This dual effect is what the ancients called a two-edged sword. Fortunately, the presence ofKongwang greatly reduces the harmful influence, and this becomes a favorable omen in summer. The deity governing the day branch is riding onBlack Tortoise throughout the day and night, making it inevitable that something is lost.

Divination on weather: The fire element in the day stem is empty, and the tiger and monkey signs are in opposition, indicating that rain and wind will start at night. Divination on the household: The white tiger element in the daytime drains the energy of the day stem, indicating that the children will be deceived by others in the later years. Divination on official positions: The official star is empty and meets the end, which is not auspicious for seeking officialdom; fortunately, the final transmission returns to support, so those whose birth stem is jia earth will be slightly better. Divination on seeking wealth: Not only will wealth not be obtained, but one must also be cautious of loss. Divination on marriage: The virtue element on the day stem is empty, which is not auspicious. Divination on pregnancy: The son or daughter element is yang, the mother's side is solid while the fetus's side is empty, which is unfavorable for the fetus. Divination on illness: It is mostly symptoms of abdominal pain and spleen diarrhea, and the official star being empty is not a good omen. Divination on lost items: All elements are black tortoises, one must be cautious of family thieves. Divination on travel: Land travel is still acceptable, but water travel is not auspicious. Divination on people on the move: Those who are nearby will arrive immediately, while those who are far away are still on the way. Divination on warfare: It is not advisable to go to war in the daytime.

The "Bifa Fu" says, "If there is a trust in Ding and the Post-horse, one must take action; if the three transmissions mutually control each other, one will be deceived by many." When a hidden chant meets the Ding god and the Post-horse, one will take initiative; if the three transmissions mutually control each other, one will be oppressed everywhere by others. The "Ke Jing" explains that when the three transmissions mutually control each other, there will be people coming one after another to harm, thus leading to a unanimous accusation and a collective attack. Officials in the court should be more cautious and restrain themselves, and beware of being impeached by the public. The "Lingxia Jing" says that on the day of Wuxu, it is a day of ten evils and great defeat, because the禄神 (favor god) is in an empty position. The "Mi Yao" says that when the heavenly stem and earthly branch belong to the same category, it is difficult to seek wealth, because there is fear of mutual competition. The "Jinlan Lue" says that if Guchen is met with mutual control, one will certainly be alone; it also says that if the White Tiger appears repeatedly on the Shen transmission god, one will suffer misfortune when going out.

On the Wuxu day, second section, the stem is on the Chen branch.

The four lessons contain only one instance where the upper element overcomes the lower one, which is used to initiate the transmission, known as the original main lesson. The three transmissions proceed from the hour, the minute, and the second, each successively retreating, like pulling up a wild plant by the roots backward, hence called "retreating roots." Since the lesson contains the Tiangang, it is still referred to as "cutting through the pass." The meaning of the lesson says: retreating backward, the寅 and 卯 are both the official ghosts of 戊 earth; advancing forward, the 辰 and 巳 both fall into the empty period; wanting to stay still, the墓 of the day stem is directly pressing upon oneself; wanting to stay at home, the败气 falls upon the residence. All four directions are blocked, so people become confused and stagnant, and the family and business also suffer decline.

Retreating, both寅 and 卯 are officials that overcome the Wu earth; advancing, 辰 and 巳 both fall into the empty period. Wanting to hold back, the Day Stem's storage 辰 is directly above oneself; wanting to stay secure at home, the decaying energy falls upon the residence. None of the four directions is passable, so people become confused and blocked, and family affairs also decline.

The three transmissions are each successively retreating, indicating that the matter being divined is mostly going to retreat. If it is a凶 matter, the凶 will come one after another; if it is a吉 matter, the吉 will follow one after another. It is better to retreat and rely on the prosperous energy rather than move forward into the empty void. Although the day stem's辰 earth and the day branch's酉 metal form aLiu He, the酉 and the day branch's戌 are actually in a six harm relationship, indicating worries within the family. The entire chart is full of official ghosts. If this divination is done in spring or summer, the wood ghosts are in charge and the fire and earth elements have strength, so it is not too dangerous. But once it reaches autumn or winter, the wood energy declines and the metal and water elements take control, and misfortune will arrive quickly.

Divination for weather: The earthy stem on the day stem falls into Kongwang, the sun will certainly appear; fire is above and water is below, but they do not meet, so it will naturally not rain. Divination for the household: Tai Chang originally governs feasting, food and clothing, but now it turns into a declining atmosphere and drains the household's energy, the decline of the family is certainly due to indulgence in wine and women. Divination for official positions: The first and middle transmissions are both official stars, and the final transmission becomes a nobleman, seeking official positions is most auspicious. Divination for seeking wealth: The wealth爻 never appears, the Azure Dragon turns into an official ghost, so seeking wealth will not be obtained. Divination for marriage: The heavenly stems and earthly branches' spirits are in Liu He, only waiting for the day when Kongwang is filled, the marriage will be successful.

Divination on pregnancy: The upper is strong and the lower is weak, with two yin spirits surrounding one yang spirit, indicating a male fetus; however, the mother's side is solid while the fetus's side is empty, causing the fetus to cling in the womb unwilling to be born, which is not auspicious. Divination on illness: The cause is excessive indulgence in wine and lust, injuring the spleen earth, or symptoms of coughing and weakness; the person is empty while the illness is solid, suggesting difficulty in recovery. Divination on lost items: The thief is a family member, either a servant or a maid. Divination on travel: The person and the house are in harmony, but the journey will be delayed. Divination on a traveler: The Tiangang is positioned at the four beginning positions, meaning the person has not yet departed. Divination on warfare: Both front and back are under pressure, with no apparent advantage. Divination on burial: The grave site carries a dying and decaying atmosphere, which is inauspicious.

The "Bifa Fu" says: "Huagai covers the day stem, causing people to be confused and unclear; if the heavenly stem and earthly branch are in conflict, the host and guest do not match, and although many ghosts are present, they are entirely not feared." The heavenly stem and earthly branch of the day are the divine spirits of Chen and Xu, which cover the day stem, causing confusion and lack of clarity. If the heavenly stem and earthly branch are in conflict, the host and guest do not match. Although there are many ghosts, as long as they are controlled, they are not feared. The "Ke Jing" says: if all three transmissions are wood spirits, they all attack the day stem, which seems very dangerous. But the day branch has You metal, which can resist the wood ghosts, so there is no disaster. This must be because someone in the house is helping to relieve the calamity, known as the family relief pattern. The "Zhipang Fu" says that if all three transmissions are official ghosts, the brothers will bring disaster instead.

On the Wuxu day, third section: stem on Mao

The four lessons are used to determine the initiating transmission by taking the lower to overcome the upper, hence it is called "Rechecking"; the mutual control between the heavenly stems and earthly branches is only suitable for self-defense, hence it is called "Cultivating Virtue"; the three transmissions, with you, hai, and you all being yin branches and moving in reverse, hence it is called "Extreme Yin." The meaning of the divination says: the heavenly stems and earthly branches combine in pairs, and their mutual exchange is smooth; however, the other side receives the support of shen metal and gains strength, while my side is particularly wary of mao wood which comes to overcome; the first transmission you soil is accompanied by broken andInauspicious Sha, and it is used as the initiating transmission; additionally, mao is the main official ghost that closes the mouth, and the most terrifying aspect of this situation is precisely here.

The trigram Mao and Xu form theLiu He, as do Si and Shen. The interaction between them is natural and feasible. However, Shen is the long life of Wu Tu, while Mao is the official ghost of Wu Tu. The other side gains strength from the metal Shen, becoming even more powerful, while I am subjected to the wooden Mao which attacks. The first transmission is the earth Chou, which carries aInauspicious Sha of broken pieces, and it is used on Mao. Mao is the official ghost that closes the mouth, and on top of it comes the Vermilion Bird which injures the day stem. The troubles of disputes and documents attack together, how can one not be afraid?

This is a very yin divination chart. The initiating transmission involves brokenness, the middle transmission is the wealth hexagram, and the final transmission falls in a defeated position. The course of events moves continuously towards darkness, indicating that all matters face suppression and obstruction, with difficulty in development. The spirit of closure is present on the self, suggesting that keeping the mouth closed is most important in order to preserve one's wise and cautious position. The Vermilion Bird transforms into the official ghost of the day stem, requiring vigilance against being accused or impeached by others. It is especially unsuitable to submit documents or to plead someone else's case and defend their innocence.

Divination for weather: The Net mansion carries the Ding deity, and the Rain deity is used to initiate the transmission, indicating it will definitely rain. Divination for the household: During the day, the卯 position is occupied by the Vermilion Bird and overcomes the day stem, indicating disputes; the White Tiger also appears at the residence, so be cautious of death. Divination for officialdom: The Vermilion Bird transforms into a ghost and is on the day stem, officials should beware of being impeached. Divination for seeking wealth: Wealth will come from banquets and social gatherings. Divination for marriage: A broken and凶ous transmission is used, which is unfavorable. Divination for pregnancy and childbirth: The day stem is attacked by the superior deity, making it difficult to preserve the offspring. Divination for illness: The three transmissions are extremely yin, and the Death deity is on the day stem. The巳禄 is both empty and cut off, the illness is in the lung meridian, which is very dangerous; fortunately, the metal of the申 on the residence can control the卯 ghost, or it may be saved through the recommendation of a woman or meeting a good doctor on the way. Divination for disputes: The Vermilion Bird is originally associated with speech but is silent, making it difficult to clear the injustice. Divination for travel: The Ding deity is in the final transmission, indicating a quick journey. Divination for a traveler: The post-horse carries the White Tiger, and the traveler will return home immediately. Divination for warfare: It is only suitable to hold the position. Divination for burial: The辰 position is the place of growth, which can bring prosperity to the descendants.

The *Bi Fa Fu* says, "The position that controls the official ghost is the place of the good physician": the god that can subdue the official ghost is located at a certain position, and that position is where the good physician is. The *Gu Jian* records a case: a person born in the酉 year used a divination with the combination of丑 added to卯 to inquire about his entire life. The diviner said the three transmissions were丑,亥, and酉, and the name of the divination was extremely yin. The戊 earth died at卯 and failed at酉. The number of酉 is six, and the number of亥 is four, so his lifespan would be forty-six years. The first transmission was supported by a nobleman, meaning he would enjoy the blessings of his father in his youth; the middle transmission was at the position of officialdom and also fell on丑, still supported by the remaining fortune of his father; when the final transmission fell on his own position, his family's affairs would then decline. The middle transmission was亥 water and the final transmission was酉 metal, with water and metal connected, indicating alcohol and lust, so he would decline due to alcohol and lust. Later, this indeed came true.

On the Wuxu day, the fourth arrangement: stem on寅 (Yin)

The four lessons contain only one instance where the upper element overcomes the lower one, which is used to determine the initiating transmission, known as the main lesson. The three transmissions are寅,亥,申, indicating the initial emergence of vital energy but with form not yet fully developed, hence called the original embryo. The meaning of the lesson states: when divining at night, the寅 wood is riding the Azure Dragon above the寅 wood, and the day stem also has a寅, with the first transmission also being寅. These two instances both involve the overcoming of the self by official ghosts. Although during the day there is the final transmission申 metal to control the寅 ghost, it is unfortunate that the申 is ridden by the White Tiger, using a凶 to control another凶, ultimately concealing danger.

The wood of寅 is riding on the Azure Dragon, appearing once on the day stem and once in the first transmission. Both instances are official ghosts that overcome the earth stem戊. The only thing that can control them is the final transmission of申 metal. Unfortunately, during the day, the metal of申 is riding on the White Tiger, which interacts with the Azure Dragon, instead enhancing the ghost of寅. This situation is favorable for someone in official position, as the official ghost has strength and allows for rapid promotion, possibly nine promotions within a year. However, for ordinary people, it brings only misfortune.

The divination indicates that the matter being consulted is just beginning to take shape. If one is consulting about taking an exam, and the heavenly general for the day is associated with prestige, then success in the exam is certain. The Azure Dragon is usually a favorable general, but now it has transformed into the official ghost, indicating a disaster within a blessing; the White Tiger is usually an ominous general, but now it is restraining the official star, indicating assistance within a misfortune: good and bad have turned upside down. However, both the daytime and nighttime dignitaries are located in the prison position, indicating that the person being consulted cannot rely on favor from above and will find it difficult to expect someone to clear their stagnation.

Divination for weather: The Tiangang points to a yin position, and during the night the Azure Dragon brings water and overcomes the day stem, so rain is certain at night. Divination for the household: The nobleman is near the house but falls into the position of imprisonment, so the nobleman is actually disadvantageous, and one should be cautious of troubles caused by drinking and feasting. Divination for official career: The official star is overcome, which is unfavorable for career advancement. Divination for seeking wealth: If divined during the day, wealth is obtained from women; if divined at night, wealth is obtained from feasting and socializing. Divination for marriage: Divining during the day is unfavorable, but divining at night is very auspicious. Divination for pregnancy: The fetus is female, and the delivery will be smooth. Divination for illness: The spleen earth is affected, or there is injury to the liver meridian; the final transmission can control the official ghost, so one will certainly meet a good doctor. Divination for lost items: The thief is a family member, and the thief can be captured. Divination for travel: Neither land nor water routes are smooth. Divination for a traveler: The Tiangang is added to the position of the four seasons, so the traveler will arrive immediately. Divination for warfare: Unfavorable.

The "Bifa Fu" says, "Lanmu Guiren Gao Jia Di," with a note for daytime divination: night noblemen appear during the day, called Lanmu Guiren, indicating success in official examinations. The "Ke Jing" states: the寅wood on the day stem is the official ghost of the戊earth on the surface, while the未earth in the day branch hides the乙wood, which is another hidden official ghost. When used for divination, this is like someone agreeing beforehand but refusing to support when the matter arises: one side is openly unfeeling, the other secretly untrustworthy, with both harboring ill will. The "Yunü Tongshen Jue" says that following the order from mother to son is called顺, while going in reverse from son to mother is called失礼. 顺 leads to harmony, while逆 suggests suspicion, which is the true method for determining the flow of the three transmissions.

On the Wuxu day, fifth configuration: the stem is on the Chou branch.

The four lessons have neither superior nor inferior elements in conflict; instead, the lesson god remotely controls the day stem, and its power is weak like grass being shot by an arrow, so it is still called remote control or "hao shi" (grass arrow). The three transmissions form the triple harmony of Yin, Wu, and Xu, which constitute a fire trinity. The "Shangshu · Hongfan" refers to fire as "yan shang" (ascending flame), so it is called "yan shang" (ascending flame). The meaning of the lesson says: the fire trinity returns to support the day stem itself, which is originally a good thing; however, in a night divination, the Yin is occupied by the White Tiger, and Yin is also an official ghost. The final transmission is Wu fire, which is combined with the Wu fire in the day branch, making Wu fire the Yangren (sharpness). The丑 (Chou) is broken, and Chou and Wu are mutually harmful, so allInauspicious Spirit (evil spirits) are gathered together.

The three transmissions form a fire pattern which returns to support the day stem, which is a favorable omen. However, the divination was done at night, with the tiger (寅) occupied by the White Tiger. The寅 is also the official ghost of the戊 earth. The day branch and the final transmission are both午 fire, with the甲 wood hidden within the午. This adds another layer of hidden ghost. Even during the day, it is accompanied by the White Tiger. Moreover, the午 is the Yangren (sheep's blade) of the戊 day, and the丑 carries theInauspicious Sha of broken pieces. The丑 and午 are in direct conflict with the six harms, so the凶 is evident without further explanation.

The divination for the蒿矢 hexagram originally has weak power, but the heavenly stems and earthly branches are mutually harmful, leading to mutual suspicion between the two sides. The pattern is called "Inflamed Ascending," which signifies a fiery nature that is empty and rising, so matters tend to be more illusory than real. Whether divining anything, there is a sense of falling short of expectations. If divining at night, be concerned about the beginning; if divining during the day, be concerned about the end.

Divination for weather: If the three transmissions form a fire pattern and return to the day stem, and the tiangang points to the yang position, the weather will naturally be clear. Divination for the household: The elder abuses the younger, and the household is extremely unstable. Divination for official positions: The nobleman appears during the day and ascends the heavenly gate at night, indicating a hopeful chance for officialdom. Divination for seeking wealth: The wealth element does not appear, and the azure dragon is hidden, suggesting difficulty in obtaining wealth. Divination for marriage: The heavenly stem and earthly branch are harmful to each other, indicating an unfavorable marriage. Divination for pregnancy: If the fetal deity is accompanied by the white tiger during the day, it is very dangerous, but if it is at night, there is no need to fear; the酉 position is the offspring element, and the child will be a girl. Divination for illness: The illness is in the heart meridian, and the lung condition is more severe; it is difficult to recover during the day. Divination for lost items: The item was not stolen, but was left behind by a servant. Divination for travel: Traveling by land is favorable during the day but unfavorable at night; traveling by water is favorable at night but unfavorable during the day. Divination for a traveler: The tiangang is placed on the four young positions, indicating the person has not yet departed. Divination for warfare: The nobleman appears both at night and day, and neither is favorable.

The *Bifa Fu* says, "White Tiger riding on the hidden ghost brings serious calamity; within the六合, if凶煞 are present, it is like honey mixed with arsenic." White Tiger riding on the ghost produced by the hidden stem brings heavy misfortune; within theLiu He, ifInauspicious Sha are present, it is like honey mixed with arsenic. The *Ke Jing* says that if the午 is placed on the戌, which is the parent's爻, and it is also乘 by White Tiger and enters the墓, it indicates that the parents' graves have ants or other misfortunes; if the parents are still alive, it indicates disease. If the午 also serves as the death deity or death qi in the current month, the situation becomes even more dangerous. The *Shen Jiang Lun* says that if the未 is on the亥, it is called "the noble enters the heavenly gate," with auspicious deities hidden andInauspicious Sha concealed, leading to favorable outcomes in all directions. The *Zhi Zhang Fu* refers to the group of寅, 戌, and 午 as "Huaming," meaning their brilliance is visible in the heavens. The *Yucheng Ge* says that if a distant克 is in the transmission, the matter sought should be looked for in distant places.

On the Wuxu day, sixth arrangement: stem on Zi

The four lessons are below and overcome the upper, thus it is called Repeated Review; the four lessons do not fill four positions, thus it is called incomplete. The meaning of the lesson says: placing the day stem on the day branch indicates my active approach to the other;巳 and戌 secretly combine, indicating mutual affection between both sides. The concern lies in the final transmission being寅 wood, which is the official ghost, and if it is divined at night with the White Tiger, it is indeed alarming; but if it is divined during the day, the寅 is occupied by the Heavenly Empress, and also sits on the墓 position, having no strength, so there is nothing to fear.

The day stem represents me, and the day branch represents the other person; adding the day stem to the day branch signifies my active approach towards the other person. The branch巳 contains the stem丙, and the branch戌 contains the stem辛, with 丙 and 辛 forming an implicit harmony, leading to mutual affection. However, the branch寅 is to be avoided, as it is the official ghost of the stem戊 and falls in the final transmission. If the divination is done at night with寅 occupying the position of the white tiger, theInauspicious General (malevolent general) accompanied by spirits is truly fearsome. But if the divination is done during the day with寅 occupied by the heavenly empress, the heavenly empress belongs to water but sits in a tomb position, having no strength at all, so there is nothing to fear.

If the four lessons are incomplete, the matter being divined is not fully covered, and there will certainly be shortcomings. All three transmissions are instances of the lower overcoming the upper, with the water element (zi) being harmed within them. Water is the wealth element of the earth (wu) and thus the wealth is damaged. Although wealth is located above the day stem, when seeking to obtain it, one must be cautious of disturbances. The first and final transmissions are preceded and followed by the nobleman of the day, which can be used to report to the nobleman and handle affairs, which is also beneficial for academic success and official rank. If the divination is done at night, it indicates that the official's mandate will be swiftly delivered, and taking office will be very quick. However, all five elements are in the state of burial, so at present, it is only suitable to conclude old matters and not to start new ones.

Divination for weather: The Azure Dragon carries water vapour up to the Heaven Plate, but the Three Transmissions successively overcome the water of the Zi branch. Although there will be rain, it will not be heavy. Divination for the household: People come to seek shelter in the residence, and then return to generate the dwelling. The dwelling must be grand. Divination for officialdom: At night, the White Tiger acts as a messenger to promote officialdom. The Azure Dragon and Nobleman both ride on the Day Stem. Seeking official position will surely succeed. Divination for wealth: Wealth comes to people without seeking. Divination for marriage: The husband goes to the wife. On the day when the empty void is filled, it will be very auspicious. Divination for childbirth: The upper is strong and the lower is weak. The child born will be a girl. Divination for illness: The illness is in the Heart channel, or toothache. If divined at night, it indicates injury to the Spleen and Stomach. Divination for travel: The land route is smooth, and the water route is also auspicious. Divination for a traveler: The Tiangang is placed on the four middle positions, meaning the person is still on the way. Divination for warfare: If divined during the day, it is auspicious; if at night, it is inauspicious.

The "Bifa Fu" says: "When the official's authority is not properly held and the official's position falls on the day branch, and both the heavenly stem and earthly branch are in a state of decline, all matters can be decisively concluded." This means that the official's position is located in the day branch but not in the day stem, indicating an unofficial or temporary role with improper authority; when both the stem and branch are in a state of decline, all matters can be decisively resolved. The "Ke Jing" states: When the child is placed on the巳 (Si) position, if the divination is done in the first lunar month, it indicates a joyful pregnancy, but the outcome is ultimately unfavorable. The fetal god is placed on the day stem, yet it is in a state of decline and is being harmed, which may lead to harm to the fetus; however, if the divination is about childbirth, it can be concluded that the birth will occur on the same day. The "Zhou Hou Jing" states that if the useful god is harmed by the celestial master nobleman, it results in the "four closures" which bring ominous calamities that are unpredictable. The original commentary refers to the子 (Zi) position harming the未 (Wei) position.
