On Xinmao day, the eleventh section: dry branch over Zi.

Qing (清) · anonymous (佚名) · Volume 41 / 85

Charting guides: Da Liu Ren Chart Calculator, Jin Kou Jue Chart

The Lesson Pattern has five types: "Hao Shi" (Wand of Artemisia), where there is no thief or overcoming among the four Lessons, and the use is determined by distant overcoming, like an arrow made of Artemisia grass, which has weak power and causes shallow harm; "Long Zhan" (Dragon Strife); "Yi Nu" (Foolish Woman); "Jian Chuan" (Intermediate Transmission), where the three Transmissions are successively passed in alternate positions; and "Bian Ying" (Transformation from Fullness), where fullness turns into decline. The Lesson Meaning says: the Initiating Transmission is only distant overcoming, and the three Transmissions again fall into Kongwang (Empty Wasteland), so the things done have no trace; the four Lessons and three Transmissions are everywhere from below to above, like a dried-up water source and broken tree roots, with continuous loss and depletion.

The initiating transmission's spirit can only remotely overcome the day stem, and it is inherently weak; furthermore, the middle transmission's earth element falls into kongwang, so whatever is attempted naturally has no result. The four lessons and three transmissions are all instances of lower elements generating upper ones, and the day stem's energy is continuously drained away, just like a dried-up water source or broken tree roots, with endless depletion. When used to divinate illness, it indicates either weakness caused by lack of restraint or originally insufficient vital energy leading to a frail physique.

The interpretation says: This hexagram indicates weak power, unable to cause harm, even though there may be alarm and danger, it will end in a way that is ineffective. The dragon fighting suggests hesitation and obstacles in matters, while the woman's wandering indicates ambiguity. This hexagram is favorable for the main party but not for the opposing party, with equal chances of good and bad outcomes. The day stem is riding on the water of the Zi branch, which is a draining force, and the heavenly general above it falls into Kongwang, which is called a draining empty force. Thus, all matters are merely empty show without real effect.

When asking about the weather, the Azure Dragon and the Net mansion are both empty, the Tiangang points to the yang position, and the Initiating Transmission is associated with the fire deity, indicating clear skies with no rain. When asking about the household, the dwelling is occupied by a departing qi, and the yin deity is also departing, suggesting the family is poor, with only the four walls remaining. When asking about career prospects, the Azure Dragon and the daily fortune are both empty, indicating an unfavorable omen for official positions. When seeking wealth, although wealth is close at hand, one must be cautious of disturbances when attempting to obtain it. When asking about marriage, the male side is not favorable, and the female side is also not very auspicious. When asking about pregnancy, the offspring element is yang, indicating a male child as a joy. When asking about illness, the liver meridian is affected, and the White Tiger being empty suggests an easy recovery; however, the fire in the fourth position is overcoming the metal in the eighth position, leading to a slower recovery from lung-related ailments. When asking about travel, both water and land routes require vigilance against loss. When asking about distant people, the Tiangang is added to the fourth position of the four young branches, indicating that the journey has not yet begun. When asking about military matters, a daytime divination shows no strength, with equal chances of good and bad outcomes.

Three rules from the "Bi Fa Fu" are: "When the sky is empty, do not pursue matters," meaning if the sky is added to the sky, there is no need to pursue the matter further; "If the three transmissions do not move, examine the initiating transmission and the time of divination," meaning if the three transmissions are stationary, one should refer to the initiating transmission and the time of the divination for interpretation; "When the Tiangang (Chen) blocks the ghost gate, one may proceed with plans," meaning when the Tiangang (Chen) blocks the gate of the ghost (寅), the ghosts cannot enter, so one may proceed with plans. An example of divination is given: using the hour of Wu as the month general and the time of Chen, the divination about the family dwelling is interpreted as follows: Si is the peak of six yang, with the superior rider being the Heavenly Empress, indicating the wife is extremely promiscuous; the day stem has the qi of theft and robbery, and also sees the sky, indicating the person has symptoms of urinary tract infection and also suffers from expenses due to children. The dwelling also sees the broken piece, where Si is the beginning of one yang and Si is the end of six yang, meaning the calamity originates from oneself and ends with the family. The final transmission, which is the禄神 of Xin metal, falls into the sky, so ultimately it leads to failure.

On Xinmao day, the twelfth layout has亥 on the dry branch.

The lesson pattern has three types: Chong Shen, "Zhan Guan", which is like breaking through a gate and is suitable for traveling far and avoiding danger; and Long Zhan. The lesson meaning says: the Ding fire hidden in Hai is coming to injure the day stem, so if one is ill, it will mainly cause headaches; the heavenly stems and earthly branches interact with each other in a cycle of mutual generation, showing affection towards each other and being able to rely on each other; the only regret is that when the divination is done in the daytime, the nobleman is empty and cannot be relied upon.

In this旬, the hidden Ding is precisely on Hai. Hai is occupied by the White Tiger, which harms the day stem. Divining illness indicates headache; because Hai corresponds to the head, and having Ding on the head causes pain. Now looking at the stem and branch: the water of Hai on the day stem nourishes the wood of Mao on the day branch, and the earth of Chen on the day branch nourishes the metal of Xin on the day stem. The two sides mutually generate and care for each other, so it cannot be said to be devoid of affection. Unfortunately, the nobleman in the final transmission falls into Kongwang during the day, so how can one rest securely relying on it?

The interpretation states: This is a case of retrial, with the White Tiger riding upon the fleeing ghost and spirit, pressing down upon the day stem, causing calamity that comes suddenly and severely, making it difficult to escape in a hurry; furthermore, both the day stem and day branch are under the influence of heaven and earth nets, making it unsuitable for travel or movement. Fortunately, the final transmission supports the first transmission, and the first transmission in turn supports me. As long as one remains calm and self-restrained, even though there are dangers, safety will eventually be achieved. This interpretation applies equally to ordinary people and officials.

Questioning about the weather, the Vermilion Bird initiates the transmission and the water mother亥 is trapped and empty, so rain cannot form below. Questioning about the household, people and the house mutually generate and assist each other, benefiting each other, which is a harmonious and auspicious sign. Questioning about the official career, the nobleman falls into emptiness, indicating an inauspicious sign for officialdom. Seeking wealth, the wealth element and the Azure Dragon do not appear, making it difficult to obtain external wealth. Questioning about marriage, the day branch and day stem mutually harm each other, indicating an inauspicious sign for marriage. Questioning about childbirth, the lower is strong and the upper is weak, with two yang elements surrounding one yin element, indicating the child will be female; the day branch supports the day stem, indicating a smooth delivery. Questioning about illness, the White Tiger is associated with water, affecting the heart meridian, and the Ding fire harms the Xin metal, causing definite loss in the lungs. Questioning about travel, both land and water routes are auspicious, but the fear is that the person is attached to home and cannot move. Questioning about distant people, the Tiangang is added to the four middle branches, indicating they are still on the way. Questioning about warfare, auspicious matters are difficult to achieve, and ominous matters are easily dispersed. Questioning about burial, the facing mountain is high and prominent, indicating benefit from burying here.

The Four Rules from the "Bifa Fu" state: "Plans are often clumsy and fall into a net," meaning that when the divination shows the heavens and earth in a net, plans are mostly clumsy and difficult to carry out; "White Tiger rides the hidden ghost, calamity is not light," meaning that the White Tiger is riding on the hidden ghost, leading to serious misfortune; "Mutual generation between the heavenly stem and earthly branch, all matters benefit," meaning that the heavenly stem and earthly branch mutually generate each other, benefiting all affairs; "Metal day meets hidden Ding, misfortune arises," meaning that on a metal day, encountering hidden Ding brings about misfortune. The "Ke Jing" says: if the day stem is亥 and the day branch is辰, they mutually generate each other, and the initiating transmission and the three transmissions also generate the day stem, with the final transmission supporting the initial one, this is called a smooth course, indicating smooth affairs and favorable fortune. The "Ding'e" says: this is a net course, which is only favorable for maintaining one's proper position; once one acts recklessly and plans, it will be caught in the net; it also indicates that officials may face mourning for their parents, with the heavenly net corresponding to the father and the earthly net corresponding to the mother.

On the Renchen day, first arrangement: Jia on the亥 position.

There are three types of lesson patterns: 'Hidden Chant' where the Heaven Plate and Earth Plate are the same, and all deities are in their proper positions, indicating stillness and no movement; 'Obstructed Transmission' where the three transmissions are blocked in the middle, causing matters to stop halfway; and 'Cutting the Gate'. The lesson meaning says: the day stem's virtuous deity combined with its fortune deity rises to the hidden Ding and initiates the transmission, which could have been peaceful, but it instead desires this wealth and refuses to be still; unexpectedly, the middle transmission is the辰, which is the storage ghost blocking the way, and the final transmission is戌, which brings the White Tiger face to face.

Heavenly stem Ji is the virtue god and the禄 god of Hai water. When it appears on the day stem and initiates the transmission, and is accompanied by the Ding that emerges in this旬, the Ji water gains strength from its virtue and禄, making it easy to obtain this Ding wealth. However, the middle transmission Chen earth is both theStorage and the ghost of Ji water, blocking the way and constantly accompanied by Teng Snake, inevitably causing harm. The final transmission Xu earth is another ghost with White Tiger that attacks the day stem, leading to fear and misfortune that grows worse over time. Only those whose own position is already that of a nobleman can benefit from this, as the final transmission's White Tiger ghost becomes a prompt for official favor, resulting in an extremely auspicious situation.

The interpretation says: Hidden Chant originally signifies stillness, but when encountering遁丁 it becomes active, indicating a situation where one cannot remain still. However, since it is Du transmission, the three transmissions are obstructed in the middle, so the matter will inevitably be halted halfway. One must change the approach and find another way to accomplish it. Fortunately, the virtue god and the fortune god are present at the self, so even when movement is unavoidable, one should remain within one's proper bounds and naturally achieve success and auspiciousness.

Inquiring about the weather, the day stem is all water, so it is natural that it will rain; however, the heavenly general and the middle and final transmissions are all earth, so it will only sprinkle some floating dust. Inquiring about the household, both day and night are governed by Teng Snake, indicating a continuous sense of fear. Inquiring about official career, the final transmission is both day and night a prompt for official appointment, so taking office will certainly be swift. Inquiring about wealth, wealth has already arrived at one's own, so it will certainly be obtained. Inquiring about marriage, the night general indicates that the female side is favorable for the male side, but the male side is unfavorable for the female side. Inquiring about childbirth, the day branch and day stem each injure one another, indicating that mother and child are uneasy, and there may be difficulty in childbirth. Inquiring about illness, it is a condition of insufficient kidney water, or headache, which may not be fully cured. Inquiring about lost items, they can only be found within one's own home. Inquiring about travel, the land route is smooth, but the water route is not good. Inquiring about distant people, those nearby will arrive immediately, but those far away remain uncertain. Inquiring about warfare, during the day, the enemy is likely to be deceitful, but at night, it is favorable.

Two passages from the "Bi Fa Fu" state: "When the Ding God and the Post-horse appear, one must speak of movement." Whenever the hidden Ding and the Post-horse occur, the interpretation should focus on movement. Another passage says: "On a water day, the presence of Ding indicates movement of wealth." On a water day, if Ding appears, wealth is sure to move. However, the "Ke Jing" says that on a water day, if the practitioner's year pillar overcomes the Ding God, then the wealth will not move. If not, the wealth must be from afar or from a brother. For those without a wife, it indicates marriage; for those already married, it suggests separation. The "Yue Jian" says: when there is aHidden Chant (hidden chant) combined with the Du transmission, those who are settled will move, those who are united will separate, journeys will be interrupted halfway, and matters should be changed completely.

On the Renchen day, the second arrangement has Wu above Xu.

There are three types of lesson patterns: 'Knowing One', where both upper and lower elements are overcome and the initiating transmission is taken from a similar day stem, causing the matter to split into two parts; cutting through the gate; and 'Soul Transformation', where the White Tiger is accompanied by death qi, indicating damage to form and spirit. The lesson meaning states that both parties are in a state of confusion, but the other's injury is light while mine is severe; fortunately, the middle and final transmissions both generate me, so by abandoning the initial transmission's dangerous White Tiger and turning to the supportive environment of the middle and final transmissions, one can still use this for stability and security.

The day stem and day branch are both being overcome by the deities above them, indicating that both sides are involved in troubles and thus both are busy and chaotic. However, the day stem is being overcome by the White Tiger riding the戌 earth, causing significant harm; while the day branch is being overcome by the Vermilion Bird riding the卯 wood, which is less severe than the White Tiger. Now, the middle and final transmissions are both coming to support the day stem. Therefore, we can disregard the initial transmission which is dangerous due to the White Tiger, and instead focus on the support provided by the middle and final transmissions to properly manage our situation.

The interpretation states: Knowing the first instance of the divination, the matter is divided into two parts. Hekui (Xu) is placed on the day gate of亥, called "Kui crossing the heavenly gate," which generally indicates obstruction and blockage. Without showing courage and perseverance, the matter cannot be completed. Moreover, the White Tiger carries ghosts and is placed on the day stem, indicating that calamity will come very quickly; one should hurry to avoid it and not wait passively. Fortunately, the three transmissions start with danger but end with good fortune, showing a sign of hardship turning into ease. In addition, two Teng Snakes are sandwiching the tomb god, which is a pattern that usually leads to unavoidable misfortune. Fortunately, it does not fall within the three transmissions, so the danger may be somewhat reduced; if the person's birth year and destiny happen to collide with it, there will be obstacles.

Inquiring about the weather, both the Net mansion and the Water Mother亥 are included in the three transmissions, and the Tiangang points to the yin position, indicating thunder and rain. Inquiring about the household, both day and night are marked by the Vermilion Bird, and the Nobleman is said to overcome the house, indicating possible legal troubles. In winter, especially, one should be cautious with fire and candles. Inquiring about official appointments, the official symbol is close to the person, indicating a quick appointment. Inquiring about wealth, the wealth element and the Azure Dragon do not appear, indicating difficulty in gaining wealth. Inquiring about marriage, the day stem and day branch are in harmony, indicating a possible union; however, both sides are overcome, so the relationship may not improve over time. Inquiring about pregnancy, the upper is strong and the lower is weak, indicating a female child; with the stem and branch in harmony, the delivery will be delayed. Inquiring about illness, it is a combination of blocked energy, food stagnation, and kidney deficiency, or possibly supernatural interference, but there is a good doctor at home who can treat it. Inquiring about travel, the person is attached to home and finds it hard to leave. Inquiring about distant people, the Tiangang is added to the fourth branch of the four young ones, indicating that they have not yet started moving. Inquiring about military matters, there will be initial danger, but eventually a great victory will be achieved.

Three passages from the "Bi Fa Fu" state: "Hekui passes through the Heaven Gate and the passage is blocked," meaning when Hekui is placed on the Heaven Gate, the passage is already blocked; "the Day Stem rides the墓神 and carries the White Tiger, do not predict illness," meaning if the Day Stem is combined with theTomb Spirit and the White Tiger, it is not suitable for predicting illness; "the position that controls the ghost is a good doctor," meaning the one who can control the ghost is the good doctor who treats illness. The "Liu Ren Zhi Nan" records a case: in the eighth lunar month, with the辰 as the month general and the巳 hour for divination about a lost item, the divination said: the戌 ghost rides the White Tiger as the initiating transmission, indicating the matter is caused by a servant in the family; the middle transmission is酉 riding the Tai Chang, and the final transmission is申 riding the Yuan Wu, indicating that a woman's clothes were stolen, and eventually the thief can be captured, and the person must live in a neighboring house to the west. Because the god associated with the transmission indicates proximity, and in autumn the metal energy is strong, the lost item can be recovered.

On the Renchen day, third section, the heavenly stem is over You.

There are two types of lesson patterns: "Original Head" (Yuan Shou), which occurs when there is only one instance of a superior element overcoming a subordinate one among the four lessons, and it initiates the transmission. This type indicates that matters proceed smoothly and in an orderly manner. The lesson meaning states that the stems and branches on both sides mutually harmonize, creating a situation of overall harmony. The three transmissions are also enclosed between the beginning and end, unable to escape the scope of the day stem and day branch. Therefore, actions cannot break away from the original pattern and can only proceed indirectly and roundabout, without a straight path.

The stem酉 on the day stem combines with the branch辰 on the day branch, and the stem寅 on the day branch also combines with the stem壬 on the day stem, showing harmony between both sides. The酉 and寅, one at the beginning and one at the end, enclose the three transmissions in the middle, indicating that the three transmissions cannot escape the circle defined by the day stem and day branch. However, during the day, the earth element戌, riding on the White Tiger, occupies the final transmission and remotely restrains the day stem. Fortunately, the initiating transmission寅 wood can restrain it. Moreover, the three transmissions are in a position of retreat, moving from a yang position into a yin position. Therefore, in dealing with matters, one should be cautious and thorough, acting with care to avoid mistakes. If one is stubborn and inflexible, eventually one will end up in conflict and discord.

The divination states: This reading involves the ruler's lesson, and it coincides with the convergence and harmony of the heavenly stems and earthly branches. At first glance, it appears harmonious. However, the spirit on the day branch is leaking the energy of the day stem, and the spirit on the day stem is also leaking the energy of the day branch. Both sides harbor deceitful intentions towards each other, which must be recognized. At night, when the divination is performed, the metal of the hour (Shen) rides the White Tiger to clash with the wood of the day branch (Yin). This indicates that there is a stone resembling a beast's head facing the front door of the house, approaching directly, causing unrest within the household.

Inquiring about the weather, the mansion of Bi宿 approaches the day and the mansion of Ji宿 approaches the branch, with the Azure Dragon and Liu He in conjunction, indicating heavy rain and strong winds. Inquiring about the household, the Teng Snake is attacking the house at night, which is likely to bring worry and alarm. Inquiring about career advancement, the final transmission acts as a promoting official symbol, indicating a favorable omen for officialdom. Seeking wealth, the Azure Dragon, Yangren, and Tian Luo are all together, suggesting it may not be advisable to go out for acquisition. Inquiring about marriage, the day branch and day stem complement each other, indicating a certain success. Inquiring about pregnancy, the upper is strong and the lower is weak, indicating the fetus is male; the day stem is draining the day branch's energy, suggesting a quick delivery. Inquiring about illness, the戌 earth brings the White Tiger to attack the壬 water, causing bladder disease, but since the initiating transmission can control the White Tiger, the condition will soon recover. Inquiring about travel, the person and the house are in harmony, but the travel date may be delayed. Inquiring about distant people, the Tiangang is added to the four central branches, indicating they are still on the way. Inquiring about military affairs, it seems easy but is actually difficult, and it is likely to be unfavorable.

Two lines from the "Bi Fa Fu" state: "When the heavenly stems and earthly branches cross and combine, trade is beneficial." When the heavenly stems and earthly branches intersect and harmonize, it is favorable for business transactions. "When both person and dwelling are weakened, both are prone to theft." When both the person and the dwelling are drained of energy, both are likely to attract thieves. The "Zhi Zhang Fu" says: When the three transmissions include寅 (Yin), 子 (Zi), and 戌 (Xu), it is called "ming yang," and encountering a good person brings good fortune. The "Ren Mei Jing" says: When there is only one instance of something overpowering something else, it is called "yuan shou," and the matter will be resolved smoothly. The "Yu Nv Tong Shen Jue" says: When the upper and lower elements mutually generate, it signifies good fortune; when they mutually overcome each other, it indicates illness or pain. The "Yu Cheng Ge" says: When Congkui (You) and Bai Hu (White Tiger) share the same heavenly stem and earthly branch, there are people in the house who are in mourning.

On the Renchen day, the fourth arrangement has the stem Shen on the dry branch.

The lesson pattern has two types: the original head and the original embryo. The three transmissions contain the meaning of孕育, indicating that matters will first encounter obstacles and then become smooth. The lesson meaning says: the day stem's long life deity is originally a good thing, but during the day it is occupied by the Black Tortoise and at night by the White Tiger, causing expenditure and danger, making it difficult for people to be at ease. The巳 fire wealth is called closed-mouth wealth, which can only be obtained in silence. In the three transmissions, there are also the post-horse and hidden ding moving deities, which must be obtained by taking action.

Shen is the place of growth for Ren water, which should be beneficial, but during the day it is occupied by Yuanwu and at night by Baihu, resulting in both expenditure and danger, making it difficult to find a secure position. Si is the final position of this ten-day cycle, placed above the beginning of the cycle, forming a closed mouth as the beginning and end connect. Since Si is also the wealth for Ren water, it is called closed mouth wealth. The middle transmission is the post-horse, and the final transmission carries the ten-day Ding, with both active spirits present, creating a very dynamic situation, and it will certainly not abandon this immediate wealth in search of elsewhere.

The interpretation says: This divination shows that the initial situation is blocked but will eventually become smooth. However, the day stem and day branch mutually punish and harm each other, causing disagreement between the two sides. The broken spirit is located on the day branch, and since it is a night divination with the Vermilion Bird, there will be matters involving disputes over words or documents leading to financial loss. Fortunately, the three transmissions support the wealth element in a cyclical manner. If this divination is cast in spring or summer, there will be great benefit in terms of wealth. However, this lesson belongs to the closed mouth type, so it is best to keep quiet and gain wealth without talking much. Only when used to divinate illness or legal cases is it most dangerous.

Inquiring about the weather, the water mother (亥) is adjacent to the day stem, and the Tiangang points to the yin position, so rain is naturally expected. Inquiring about the household, the six breaks are combined, and the yin and yang spirits each harm one another, indicating signs of damage and imperfection. Inquiring about official career, the nobleman initiates the transmission, and the day's wealth is located in the final transmission, which is most auspicious. Inquiring about wealth, if the divination is done during the day, it is favorable to gain wealth from the nobleman; if done at night, it is favorable to gain wealth from women, and both should be done discreetly. Inquiring about marriage, the punishments and breaks are combined, indicating inauspiciousness for both families. Inquiring about pregnancy, the upper is strong and the lower is weak, indicating a male child; if punishments and breaks are combined, childbirth will be quick. Inquiring about illness, it is a condition of liver qi stagnation and blocked qi movement, or injuries to the hands and feet; however, since the long life is present, although it is dangerous, it will not cause great harm. Inquiring about travel, the hidden ding and the post-horse are combined, and the white tiger is on the shen position, indicating that once the journey begins, it will not stop for a moment. Inquiring about distant people, the Tiangang is on the seasonal branches, indicating that they will arrive immediately. Inquiring about military affairs, if divined during the day, it is favorable; if at night, it is unfavorable.

Three lines from the "Bi Fa Fu" say: "Ghost in the third and fourth lessons brings lawsuits and calamity," meaning if the ghostly element appears in the third or fourth lesson, lawsuits and misfortune will follow; "On a water day encountering Ding brings movement of wealth," meaning on a day of the water branch, if Ding appears, wealth will be active; "Closed mouth divination requires separate analysis of good and bad," meaning in a closed mouth chart, one must analyze both favorable and unfavorable outcomes separately. The "Zhong Huang Jing" says: the Milky Way and the Earth Well are added to the day and the day branch (the day branch is the Milky Way, and the earthy branch is the Earth Well), and both the day and the day branch are in water; if all three transmissions are metal and there is no earth to restrain them, one must beware of drowning when going out. The "Kuan Nang Fu" says: Yuan Wu riding the午 (horse) indicates a change in position, and Bai Hu residing in申 or酉 (monkey or rooster) indicates disputes. The "Yu Cheng Ge" says: if the nobleman is present on巳 or亥 (snake or pig), matters tend to be complicated and changeable.

On the Renchen day, fifth arrangement, the stem is over the Wei branch.

The Lesson Pattern has three types: Re-examination; Encouragement of Virtue; and "Cunning Boy". This is when the Day Stem combines with the Day Branch to form a harmonious relationship, as if a man is seeking a woman, but with a sense of deceit. The Lesson Meaning states: Although there is a ghost on the Day Stem, there is no need to fear, because it falls into an empty position; the ancestral god transformed from the Day Branch is pressing on the Final Transmission, indicating that in matters of illness it signifies hardship and difficulty, and in legal disputes it suggests punishment; however, when it comes to the return of a distant person, the arrival is certain and immediate.

The earth element of the day stem, Wu (未), although it is the ghost of Ren water, is currently in the旬空, which is empty and not substantial, so there is no need to be afraid. The day branch, Chen (辰), is the storage of Ren water, and now it is located in the final transmission. When predicting illness, this indicates being trapped and unable to move; when predicting litigation, it indicates suffering from legal punishment. This is truly alarming. Only in the case of someone who has left and has not returned can it be said that they will arrive when they say they will, because theTomb Spirit (storage deity) is present in the final transmission.

The divination states: This is a case of re-examination, indicating that matters are likely to go against expectations. Both the heavenly stem and earthly branch are each accompanied by their triple harmony, but the branch Zi and Wei form a sixth harm, which is called harmony with a killer. It is a case where completion includes damage, and good things conceal bad ones. The three transmissions are dominated by water qi, with a fellow stem competing for wealth, inevitably causing loss to wife and money. If this divination is cast in the second lunar month at night, the day ghost transforms into death qi, riding on Tai Chang and resting on the day stem, indicating the mourning of a relative from another surname.

When asking about the weather, with the Azure Dragon initiating the transmission and all three transmissions being water, it indicates wind, rain, and storms. When asking about the household, with the Azure Dragon and Liu He both present in the day branch position of the house, there will certainly be many joyful events in the family. When asking about career prospects, although the Azure Dragon has initiated the transmission, one still needs to wait for the official star to be filled in order to succeed. When seeking wealth, with the Azure Dragon riding over the house, wealth has already arrived at home. When asking about marriage, the day branch and day stem are in conflict, and the official star on the day stem is empty, which is not a good omen. When asking about pregnancy, the lower is strong and the upper is weak, indicating a female child; the mother is strong but the child is empty, which is unfavorable for childbirth. When asking about illness, the bladder and kidney meridians are affected, and the illness can be cured without medication. When asking about travel, water routes are favorable, and land routes are also good. When asking about distant people, the tomb god is present in the final transmission, meaning the person will arrive immediately. When asking about military matters, both day and night divinations are favorable, and being cautious and holding the position is even better.

Two passages from the "Bi Fa Fu" state: "Each side suspects the other, harm follows closely," meaning the heavenly stem and earthly branch are in a harmful relationship, causing mutual suspicion; "In union, there is a凶杀, like砒霜 in honey," meaning within a harmonious relationship, there is aInauspicious Sha, just as砒霜 is mixed into honey. The "Ke Jing" says: When the day stem is on a壬 day, it is the day stem's visible ghost; when the day branch's子 water escapes the戊 earth, it is the day stem's hidden ghost, thus both visible and hidden ghosts are present. It is said that visible ghosts are easy to avoid, but hidden ghosts are hard to guard against. The "Zhi Zhang Fu" says: If the three transmissions contain子,申, and辰, it is called "Yang Yuan," which can only defend and is trapped in cold and stagnation. The "Ren Mei Jing" says: If the heavenly stem and earthly branch have the Tian Yi Gu Ren on their gate, it brings a reputation of virtue; then look at the day and night generals. If a gentleman makes a divination, he will achieve honor and promotion; if a petty person makes a divination, he will achieve nothing.

On the Renchen day, sixth arrangement, dry morning.

There are three types of lesson patterns: knowing one; incomplete; and 'Guchen', which indicates being alone and without support. The lesson meaning says: the Day Stem, which should be in a position of honor, has lowered its status to take the position of the Day Branch, losing the proper order between superior and inferior, thus being bullied by those below. If the divination is done at night, it mainly indicates loss of money. The two spirits of Kui and Gang, along with Teng Snake and White Tiger, are pressing upon the卯 and酉 positions, indicating that strange events will occur at the family gate.

The day stem is superior, the day branch is inferior. Now the day stem is placed upon the day branch and is instead overcome by it, showing a lack of self-respect and an inversion of the proper order, thus inviting the harassment of those below. The wu fire is the wealth of the ren water, but on the approach day, the initiating transmission occurs at night, with the thief god yuanwu riding upon it, and it falls into the kongwang position, making the loss of wealth inevitable. The hekui and tiangang deities ride upon the teng snake and baihu, pressing exactly upon the卯 and酉 positions, indicating strange occurrences at the family entrance.

The interpretation says: Knowing the first divination, the matter causes people to be doubtful. The three transmissions are interrelated through mutual generation, and Shen is the long life of Ren water, so by principle someone should recommend. However, the first transmission is overcome by Wu fire, and the middle transmission is buried by Chou earth, which is called long life without strength, and the recommendation may not be effective. Moreover, it is also affected by being attacked from both sides, and being controlled by others, there must be a situation where one's actions are not entirely under one's own control.

Inquiring about the weather, the fire of the hour Wu falls into an empty position, and the Tiangang points to the yin position, indicating first clear weather followed by rain. Inquiring about the household, people come to the house, but the superior person goes away and relies on the inferior, leading to many disturbances at the door, and one should be cautious of theft. Inquiring about official career, the official star falls into an empty position and the nobleman does not appear, indicating an unfavorable situation in official matters. Seeking wealth, the wealth element is empty and陷, making it difficult to keep one's own money, how could one think of seeking wealth elsewhere? Inquiring about marriage, the man approaches the woman, but the heavenly stem and earthly branch each harm each other, which is not very auspicious. Inquiring about pregnancy, the lower is strong and the upper is weak, with two yang elements surrounding one yin element, indicating a female child; the mother is real and the child is empty, indicating an inauspicious childbirth. Inquiring about illness, the liver meridian is injured, or the hands and feet cannot be moved, but it can be cured after the current cycle. Inquiring about travel, the person is attached to home and finds it difficult to leave. Inquiring about distant people, the Tiangang is added to the four central branches, indicating they are still on the way. Inquiring about military affairs, the situation is unstable, with both bad and good events dispersing.

Two passages from the "Bi Fa Fu" state: "The authority is not properly held, and the official's fortune falls on the day branch," meaning that when the day's fortune falls on the day branch, one may take charge of affairs but without proper legitimacy. "The first transmission is surrounded by the 'Jia' and 'Ke' divination signs, and one cannot act freely," meaning that when the first transmission is surrounded by the 'Jia' and 'Ke' signs, one's affairs are not under one's own control. The "Gu Jian" records a case: a person with a午 (Wu) destiny used丑 (Chou) as the month general and cast a divination at午 (Wu) time to predict his future. The divination concluded that the name of the divination is "chaos at the beginning," and that after taking office, he would inevitably be controlled by his servants due to greed for money, his wife would be seduced by the servants, and he himself would die at the hands of the servants. This is because亥 (Hai) is added to辰 (Chen), which is self-induced chaos. The upper sign is Tian Kong (Sky Void), and the lower is Tiangang (Chen), which is being attacked, hence being controlled by the servants.午 (Wu) represents wealth, and丑 (Chou) represents officialdom; when the official is placed on top of wealth, it indicates the official taking bribes. Tian Hou (Heavenly Empress) is on亥 (Hai), indicating the wife will be involved in disorder. Since亥 (Hai) is Tian Kong and is surrounded by the 'Jia' and 'Ke' signs, it is controlled by the servants.申 (Shen) is the resting place for documents and also represents long life, yet it is abandoned, which is called rejecting the corpse, and thus life is likely to be short.
