On the Yisi day, first arrangement: stem on Chen

Qing (清) · anonymous (佚名) · Volume 60 / 85

Charting guides: Da Liu Ren Chart Calculator, Jin Kou Jue Chart

This lesson pattern isHidden Chant, 斩关, and Six Instruments. The lesson meaning says: encountering the Tiangang (Chen) earth twice; the self needs to move, but it is difficult to attain health; at night, there is a disturbance caused by spiritual beings; fortunately, it can ultimately avoid injury.

The heavenly stem Chen (土) of Tiangang is placed over the day stem and also serves as the initiating transmission, hence called encountering twice. The day stem represents oneself, and since oneself is unsettled, it is difficult to achieve peace. The metal of Shen is the official ghost of Yi wood, and at night it is supported by the nobleman, indicating supernatural interference, which requires prayer and ritual to resolve. Fortunately, the middle transmission and the fire of Si in the day branch jointly overcome the metal of Shen (Si and Shen are in conflict, and fire overcomes metal), and the卯 wood of Liu He also suffices to restrain the earth of Chou occupied by the nobleman, thus avoiding harm.

The interpretation states: A Hidden Chant hexagram signifies an image of the energies of Heaven and Earth not yet activated, favoring stillness rather than rash action. However, the Tiangang itself signifies movement, and now it is approaching the Day Stem and initiating transmission, forming a pattern that matches cutting through barriers. There is absolutely no reason to remain inactive. Additionally, Gou Chen is also occupying its position, indicating delays, disputes, and being constantly oppressed with no room to maneuver. For those seeking divination, except for matters related to fleeing or escaping, all other affairs are better handled by yielding. Only officials who divinate this hexagram will find it auspicious.

Weather: Clouds will rise and rain will fall, there will also be wind and thunder. Residence: The house itself is auspicious, but those living in it are not at peace. Official rank: There is hope for positions related to land or fields, or one may obtain an official position through financial contributions. Seeking wealth: There may be disputes leading to calamity. Marriage: Not suitable. Pregnancy: A female fetus, born late. Illness: This indicates ailments related to the spleen and stomach, and it is not suitable for divining the illness of parents.

Lost items: The things are although near, but hard to find; if a person has run away, they have already gone far. Travel: There are obstacles, and it will not be smooth. Traveler: He is about to arrive. Lawsuit: It is certainly due to a quarrel over property, or because of a dispute over wife and concubine. Capturing thieves: The thief has not left his hometown, in the northwest. Military action: It should be cautious.

The "Bifa Fu" says: When the guest and host do not harmonize, it is due to the upper deity being self-punishing; if the official ghost is riding on the heavenly virtue nobleman, it indicates divine interference. The "Ke Jing" says: When the earth element wealth line initiates, and Gou Chen is also added upon it, it is called "Jia Se." Since the earth element is a self-punishing deity, the middle transmission can only take the day branch to make up, which is called "Du Zhuan Ge," indicating obstacles in matters, requiring another branch to open the situation. The "Zhi Yao" says: Lost items are not far away, the person being sought has not left, and the sick person does not speak but only moans. The "Liu Ren Xin Jing" says: Although it is a hidden chant lesson, when the day stem and day branch cross and mutually drain each other, it indicates both parties have the intention to deceive each other.

On the Yisi day, second arrangement, the stem is on the卯 branch.

The lesson pattern is Yuan Shou, Tui Ru, Bu Bei, and Mo Yue. The meaning of the lesson states: the禄神 that has fallen into emptiness serves as the first transmission; the middle and final transmissions are also empty; the matters being pursued will not achieve success; one can only move forward step by step.

The explanation says: Mao is the禄神 of Yi wood, and when it approaches the day stem and serves as the initiating transmission, it appears to be favorable. However, it is exactly in the旬空, so what benefit does it bring? Moreover, both the middle and final transmissions are also empty, so whatever plan is made will certainly not achieve success. However, if the three transmissions are in the旬空, it is actually suitable to move forward step by step and wait patiently, as there will eventually be an opportunity to change plans. The old version took Chen, obtained through remoterestrain, as the first transmission, but now it is changed to Mao.

The interpretation states: The first ruler hexagram, with the three transmissions reversing and retreating while connected in sequence, uses the upper deity to overcome the lower deity. Although it seems upright and things are mostly smooth, the four lessons are incomplete, and the three transmissions all fall into empty positions. The禄神 that has fallen into emptiness presses upon oneself, while the斗魁 andTiangang (Chen) press upon the dwelling position. Both person and dwelling are unstable, and one cannot decide whether to leave or stay, advance or retreat. One should act according to the opportunity and wait patiently. The day stem is added to the day branch, indicating a desire for the wealth of the earth element, but it is instead stolen away by the day branch. The day branch then transmits to the day stem and encounters emptiness, which is called giving more than one receives, and receiving less than one gives.

Weather: There are clouds, winds, thunder and lightning, but they merely appear as if rain is about to fall. Residence: Poor and unstable, with frequent quarrels. Fame and status: Some empty titles appear out of nowhere, but there is no real result. Seeking wealth: Partnering with others in business, beware of losing everything in the end. Marriage: It will not succeed. Pregnancy and childbirth: Divination for pregnancy may not be certain, but divination for childbirth indicates immediate delivery. Illness: New illness will soon recover, but long-term illness is not advisable. Lost items: Look for them in the southeast direction. Travel: The journey will be postponed. Travelers: They will arrive soon. Lawsuits: Like a building in the air, it will vanish in a moment. Capturing thieves: If divined during the day, look in the southwest; if at night, look in the northwest. Military affairs: It is advisable to retreat first and then advance.

The "Bifa Fu" says: If everything is empty and nothing exists, there is no need to pursue further; if one steps on Kongwang, it is actually favorable for moving forward. The "Ke Jing" says: Since the first transmission's official god falls into an empty position, and the final transmission meets Teng Snake and White Tiger, this indicates being pressed from both sides and being in a dilemma of advancing and retreating. The recorded verification: A person born in the year Guichou used the year Jimao to divinate his family residence with the hour Xu. The diviner said: The卯wood arrives at the day stem, indicating the house cannot accommodate people.卯is the empty official god,寅represents brothers, and the oracle does not show the parents'爻. Gou Chen is also present at the residence position, indicating that brothers are competing, leading the parents to have to live separately. Later, all these predictions were verified.

On the Yisi day, third arrangement: stem above Yin

This lesson pattern is called Re-examining, Intermediate Transmission, Extreme Yin, and Sudden Crossing. The lesson meaning says: all four lessons fall into emptiness, so nothing can be found; if divined during the day about illness, it is merely an inability to eat; but if divined at night, it becomes dangerous.

It is explained that both寅 and 卯 are within the旬空, and 子 and 丑 are sitting on theKongwang. The yang and yin spirits above the day stem and day branch all fall into emptiness, so whatever matters involved will naturally be unable to be found. The 丑 branch hides the癸 stem and initiates the transmission, which is called 'closed mouth'. If it is divined during the day with Teng Snake, the illness is not serious, merely an inability to eat; but if it is divined at night, White Tiger rides on the wealth爻 and reinforces the official ghost, which becomes much more dangerous. Because Teng Snake belongs to fire, it can still control the申 metal ghost; but White Tiger belongs to metal, and is actually in league with the ghost.

The interpretation states: The revisited hexagram has the three transmissions reversing and retreating, passing through alternate positions, indicating an extremely yin image. Matters tend to be unsatisfactory, people are uncertain and confused, and actions are contradictory. Moreover, the entire hexagram is empty, and the initiating spirit is seated on an empty and depressed position, indicating both parties are confused and vague, resulting in pure emptiness. Furthermore, the currently flourishing禄神 is located on the day branch, being stolen away by the dwelling position, inevitably leading to various losses. However, if this is about calamity or anxiety, it may eventually be resolved. In conclusion, stillness is better than movement, sitting is preferable to moving around, and one should not engage in hasty endeavors.

Weather: At first there was wind and lightning, then it turned cold and cloudy, and soon everything dispersed. House: The master used his salary to pay off debts in order to buy a house, or spent a lot of money on a celebration. Fame and reputation: It is only a hollow reputation with no real substance. Seeking wealth: One cannot gain real benefits, but will suffer a false alarm. Marriage: Unfavorable, and the marriage will not be concluded. Pregnancy and childbirth: It is said to be a female fetus, but it may not be confirmed, and if one divines childbirth, it will happen immediately. Disease: It indicates difficulty in swallowing and inability to speak, and for a long illness, it is extremely dangerous.

Lost items: The owner is a woman who has stolen them; the things have already scattered and are difficult to recover. Travel: Unable to go. A traveler: Depart on the day of Hai and arrive on the day of Mao. Lawsuit: The dispute is over imaginary wealth; both parties will suffer losses. Capturing thieves: During the day, the thief is in the southwest near a well with a stone lion; at night, the thief is in due west where a woman is crying. Military action: It is just a show of strength. Grave site: There is a withered tree above and a snake hole below; it is not auspicious.

The "Bifa Fu" says: When the official star falls on the day branch, authority is not properly established, and words are not in order; everything is empty and nothing remains, so there is no need to pursue further. The "Guan Jing Xing" says: If the four lessons have no form or substance, the matter will not reveal its name; even if it does reveal a name, it is only empty talk. It also says: When the day stem's official star is added to the day branch, but the day branch steals and drains it, it must be for building a house or roof, using the salary to repay debts. The "Zhi Zhang Fu" says: Chou, Hai, and You are extremely yin, like the moon sinking behind the western mountain—this refers to all three transmissions falling in the positions of the night, with no light visible at all.

On the Yisi day, the first division: the stem is on Chou.

This divination case has a "Lesson Pattern" (type of lesson) called "Chong Shen," meaning that among the four lessons, the lower deity reversely overcomes the upper deity, and the divination is taken accordingly. This indicates that matters should be carefully examined repeatedly and one should not act hastily. The "Three Transmissions" (initial, middle, and final transmissions) consist of the four earthly branches of Chen, Xu, Chou, and Wei, forming a "Jia Se" (cultivation and harvest) earth pattern, which signifies difficulty and delay. It also combines the "You Zi" (wandering) pattern of drifting and the "Bi Kou" (closed mouth) pattern of being unable to speak. The title "Di Yu Ju" is a miswriting in the printed text and should be "Di Si Ju" (Fourth Lesson). The four lines of "Lesson Meaning" are a rhyming explanation: all around are wealth hexagrams that are overcome by the day stem, which seems pleasant but in reality the gains do not outweigh the losses. During the day, the凶 general "Bai Hu" (White Tiger), which governs illness and injury, is placed on the day stem's storage, forming a凶 omen. However, since the lesson includes the "Bi Kou" pattern, as long as one remains silent and cautious, there is no cause for fear.

The yang spirit and yin spirit on the day stem, together with the three transmissions, fill the view with nothing but the wealth hexagram of wood, which is seemingly favorable. However, the excessive wealth in the transmission overpowers the wood, causing it to be trapped by earth, leading to loss instead. The earth ox is the last position of the Jiachen cycle, and the dog in this cycle hides the metal geng, which is the official ghost that restrains the body. The earth sheep in this cycle hides the fire ding, which is a consuming spirit. Therefore, although there is much wealth, it ultimately cannot overcome the expenses. The earth sheep is also the tomb and storage of the wood yi. When divining during the day, the white tiger is riding on it, which is indeed an ominous sign. However, as long as one keeps quiet and speaks cautiously, waiting for the 'teng snake' (a heavenly general associated with fear and strange occurrences) on the ox to break the tomb of the sheep, using aInauspicious Spirit to control anotherInauspicious Spirit, there is nothing to fear.

This is a review divination, with the three transmissions all falling on the seasonal branches of Chen, Xu, Chou, and Wei, forming a farming and reaping earth pattern. The review divination often indicates many obstacles, and the farming and reaping pattern also suggests hardship and delay. Moreover, the spirit of Ding is located in the final transmission within the ten-day cycle, and the post-horse appears on the hidden spirit of the day branch, forming the pattern of a wandering traveler, indicating a restless mind and unstable movements. The closed mouth spirit is present on the day stem as the initiating transmission (i.e., serving as the first transmission), also suggesting a mind full of unexpressed thoughts. The branch of the day is occupied by a spirit that has fallen into kongwang and is also generating, and this spirit forms the "six harms" (a harmful relationship between earthly branches) with the spirit on the day stem, leading to a vulnerable and unstable home.

Divination on weather conditions indicates that the earth's energy is stagnant, the sky is damp and dark but no rain falls. Divination on the household suggests that the Vermilion Bird (a heavenly general associated with speech and documents) is positioned on the寅 (Tiger) branch, indicating disputes within the family due to words or documents, and caution is needed to avoid legal troubles. Divination on official rank suggests that wealth can generate official status, or one may obtain a position through others' money, but the wealth will eventually be spent, leading to an unsatisfactory outcome. Divination on seeking wealth indicates that although there are many wealth signs, the wealth is difficult to obtain. Divination on marriage indicates obstacles in the middle. Divination on pregnancy suggests that the mouth is closed, indicating a risk of the child being mute or the mother losing her voice after childbirth. Divination on illness indicates a spleen-related condition, suggesting disharmony in the spleen and stomach, lack of appetite, and a prolonged illness. Divination on losing something indicates that the lost item has been taken far away and is difficult to recover. Divination on travel indicates traveling far and wide, like a drifting reed with no fixed dwelling. Divination on a traveler indicates that the person is longing to return home but cannot come back immediately. Divination on disputes indicates that they are often about money, and the matter is clear without argument, but speaking too much may bring trouble. Divination on capturing indicates that if divined during the day, the person is in the southern驿站 (station), and if at night, they are in the eastern home of monks or Taoists. Divination on warfare suggests that it is favorable to cultivate farmland and hold defense, but unfavorable for active attacks.

The "Bifa Fu" says: If the three transmissions are overly prosperous in wealth, it may result in loss of wealth; when encountering the closed mouth pattern, one should analyze both the lesson pattern and the meaning of the hexagram. The "Zhan Jue" states: When the branch at the end of a ten-day period is placed upon the branch at the beginning of the ten-day period, the wealth element becomes closed mouth. Its interpretation is similar to when the day's wealth is in closed mouth or the food god is in kongwang, which is particularly unfavorable for predicting illness. The "Ding'E" explains: In the traveler's pattern, the branches Chou, Xu, and Wei are transmitted from the yang spirit to the yin spirit, indicating that the person is away from home and longing to return. When Chou is placed on Chen, it is called "broken travel." If the three transmissions encounter the tomb spirit andInauspicious Sha (malevolent stars) with punishment and harm, it signifies being pursued by enemies. If instead, theLiu He (six harmonies) andAzure Dragon (azure dragon) ride theThe Post-horse (post-horse), it is like a great鹏 (mythical bird) flying thousands of miles high.

On the Yisi day, fifth arrangement: the stem is on the child branch.

This divination lesson has the pattern "Hao Shi" — in the four lessons, there is no direct conflict between upper and lower, but the upper deity remotely controls the day stem, like an arrow made of reed grass, which is shot but powerless. The three transmissions, Si, You, and Chou, form the "Cong Ge" metal pattern. The lesson interpretation says: the final transmission, Chou earth, supports the first transmission, You metal, which is the official ghost, which would normally intensify the controlling force against the person. Fortunately, the remote control is already weak. The You ghost sits on top of the Chou tomb, like bowing into a hill, and is attacked by Si fire from above, like facing an enemy while looking up; thus, it is restricted both in movement and stillness. The three branches form a metal pattern, which turns danger into benefit.

The day branch is Zi, which is where the nobleman is located during daytime divination, directly placed on the day stem. The final transmission is Chou earth, which is the wealth爻 of Yi wood. It supports the first transmission You metal official ghost, which in turn generates Zi water. This is called 'guiding the ghost to become life qi', transforming ghostly energy into life energy. Moreover, the蒿矢 itself is weak: although the metal爻 is like an arrow with a tip, it only remotely controls the fourth lesson, making its power even weaker. Furthermore, the You ghost is seated on the Chou earth墓, and is also attacked by Si fire, which is like bowing down into a hill and facing an enemy directly, making it incapable of causing harm. Since the three branches form a metal trinity, it actually completes the good situation.

This is a "remote overcoming" divination, and the three transmissions form a metal group of transformation. Remote overcoming indicates that efforts are not effective, with both misfortune and fortune being light. However, this metal group contains hidden fortune and kindness within adversity. At present, it is merely a false alarm, and the situation will gradually improve. Metal of transformation signifies renewal and change; after hardship comes sweetness. The person seeking divination should follow reason and maintain their proper role, without forcing matters.

Divination on weather indicates that there will be a drought first followed by rain, resulting in a change from a poor harvest to a bountiful one. Divination on the household suggests that the wife or spouse may suffer from a speech-related illness. Divination on official rank shows initial difficulties followed by smooth progress, with assistance from others. Divination on seeking wealth advises not to force it, as wealth will come naturally. Divination on marriage indicates that the union will be successful but delayed. Divination on pregnancy shows that the fetus is female, and there is a need to be cautious. Divination on illness suggests that the illness will recover, though the recovery will be slow. Divination on loss indicates that there will be a conflict involving 'Gou Chen' overcoming 'Black Tortoise', the thief can be captured. Divination on travel suggests that going to the northeast is auspicious. Divination on a traveler coming indicates that the person is likely a soldier or an official's servant, who will arrive suddenly. Divination on disputes shows that the party willing to spend money will win, and will have the support of a nobleman. Divination on warfare indicates that both sides will reconcile and cease fighting. Divination on burial indicates that this site can bring about wealth.

The "Bifa Fu" says: Although many ghosts are visible, as long as they are controlled, they are not to be feared; even if the Nobleman is in the position of imprisonment, if he is on the Day Stem, he is still useful. The "Zhipang Fu" says: The three branches You, Si, and Chou are called "Cao Hui," meaning that even though the time has passed, they can still bear the time, and may not have lost their measure. The "Liu Ren Zhi Nan" records: In the year Dingmao, with Chen as the Month General, someone asked about the provincial examination, and the divination said: The "Hao Shi" lesson shows metal, just like an arrowhead with a tip; the Vermilion Bird soars high, and the Nobleman is in the noble position, so two Noblemen will mediate and recommend, and both brothers will pass the examination. The one born in the year Wu will come first, and the one born in the year Hai will come later. When the list of successful candidates was published, it indeed proved true. The "Chong Xu Zi Jing Lun" says: When Si is added to You, it is called "Pai," meaning pairing. If it meets evil stars and evil generals, it will certainly lead to exile or transportation.

On the Yisi day, sixth arrangement, the stem is on the亥 position.

The lesson pattern remains a re-examination, combined with the "Four Extremes" pattern — all three transmissions fall into the extreme place of the day stem. The lesson meaning says: this lesson is most feared by those who hold official positions, because the official star has no life qi; common people, however, who divinate this lesson are instead free from danger. When divining at night, there is no need to seek help from a nobleman, as the nobleman has already entered the tomb; seeking help would be of no use. When divining during the day, the nobleman is present at巳, which is considered moderate and balanced.

Shen metal is the official element of Yi wood. Now it is in the final transmission. The first transmission has Wu fire which overcomes it, and the middle transmission has Chou earth which is its storage. The official star has no strength at all, which is most unfavorable for someone in official position. However, for ordinary people, this indicates that lawsuits will be resolved and illness will be alleviated, thus avoiding misfortune. If divined at night, with the nobleman in the tomb, going to seek him would be of no use. If divined in the day, with the nobleman on Si, although the three transmissions follow each other in mutual generation, the fire on Si conflicts with the first transmission's Wu fire and also overcomes the day branch which is the household deity. Therefore, it can only be considered an average situation.

The divination lesson of repeated review is when the lower deity overcomes the upper deity, which is advantageous for the lower position but not for the upper. It is suitable to be in the later position rather than to compete for the first. Although the first transmission seems to weaken the day stem, the three transmissions proceed step by step from near to far, and the matter, though delayed, will eventually be accomplished. When divining during the day, the nobleman is present on the day branch. Although it appears to overcome the branch, in reality it supports the day stem from behind. Additionally, the day stem is seated upon the long life of亥 water. Therefore, in all such divination cases, it is advisable to sit quietly and wait, which will naturally lead to a satisfactory outcome.

The "Bi Fa Fu" says: If the three transmissions follow each other in a sequence of mutual generation, it indicates that someone will recommend the person from the side. The "Ke Jing" says: If the day stem generates the first transmission, it signifies giving kindness to others; if the first transmission generates the middle transmission, the middle generates the final, but the final transmission turns back to overcome the day stem, this is called that the more kindness is shown, the deeper the resentment becomes. The "Gu Jian" records: A person born in the year Geng Xu, when he divines a lawsuit in the year Wu Shen with the month general at Wu, the divination states: It is originally a lesson of four extremes, but unexpectedly the two waters of Hai and Zi come to generate and support the day stem, thus reviving strength from the desperate situation. The water of Zi is the mother of wood of Yi, and the wealth爻 is also in the position of descendants, indicating that he can inherit the property of his maternal family; the metal of Shen is the ancestral deity of wood of Yi, and the soil of Chou is the storage of Shen, so he should build the ancestral tomb; since his birth year of Geng Xu is also stored in Chou, he himself also prepared a tomb for longevity nearby. Shen also indicates monks, and the presence of the nobleman suggests that his future son will become a virtuous high monk. All these predictions later came true.

On the Yisi day, seventh arrangement, the stem is on the戌 position.

The lesson pattern is "Reverse Chant," where the deities on the Heaven Plate conflict with those on the Earth Plate, indicating many reversals in affairs; "Reverse Chant" is also known as "No Support," implying lack of reliance; this pattern also includes the "Fetus" structure, suggesting development and change. The lesson interpretation states: during the day, the White Tiger is riding on the巳, warning of possible loss of vital energy; originally intending to rely on the亥 water to control fire, but the亥 water is weak and cannot provide protection; during the night, the initial and final positions are occupied by the Black Tortoise, indicating a risk of being deceived or defrauded; the Black Tortoise also harmonizes with theLiu He in the Middle Transmission, resembling a secret agreement made in secret.

The first and final transmissions are both巳 fire. When divining during the day with the White Tiger, the巳 fire drains and disperses the energy of the乙 wood, indicating that the person's body is certainly weak. Originally, we relied on亥 water for growth to overcome the巳 fire and restrain it, but there is too much fire and not enough water. The亥 water is also controlled by the戌 earth on the day stem, so it is struggling to survive itself, how can it protect anyone else. When divining at night with the first and final transmissions under the Black Tortoise, the earth deity drains the day stem, and the Heavenly General indicates theft, how can one avoid being deceived. Moreover, the Black Tortoise is close to the middle transmission's 'Liu He' (a Heavenly General associated with harmony and intimacy), they are close and intimate, acting together like they have secretly made an agreement.

A divination without support combines four dead ends and a fetal state, indicating that matters will be repeatedly troublesome, depressed and unsmooth. Moreover, theInauspicious Spirit (evil spirits) Hekui (Xu) and Tiangang (Chen) are positioned on both sides of the day stem, causing further disturbance. The巳 and亥 are in opposition and clash with each other. If the divination is done at night, it is accompanied by the Vermilion Bird; if done during the day, it is accompanied by the White Tiger. The Enemy God and evil generals attack each other, leading to many troubles and disturbances. The wealth爻 on the day stem is the戌 earth, which has escaped from the庚 metal, and both day and night are accompanied by the Vermilion Bird. This kind of wealth is only suitable for presenting to superiors and making contributions, not for business operations. If one wants to inquire about wealth (the original text mistakenly writes "孟" instead of "欲"), it will certainly lead to disputes and conflicts.

Divination for weather indicates thunder, lightning, wind and rain all occurring together, with sudden and drastic changes in a short time. Divination for the home suggests there may be secret affairs or fear within the household; the fire of the fourth hour combined with the White Tiger indicates damage to locks on wooden objects. Divination for official rank shows repeated troubles with no success in the end. Divination for seeking wealth suggests that wealth may come to you on its own, but taking it may bring misfortune. Divination for marriage suggests there is no need to discuss it further. Divination for pregnancy indicates unstable fetal condition. Divination for illness suggests illness related to the fetus or a throat condition in a child. Divination for loss indicates that if divined during the day, the person who ran away has already gone far; if divined at night, items will be stolen one after another. Divination for travel suggests it is not favorable for boats or vehicles, and after leaving, one will return. Divination for a traveler suggests the person will arrive soon, but after arriving, there will be another matter to attend to elsewhere. Divination for disputes suggests that if one remains impartial, there will be no trouble. Divination for capture suggests that if divined during the day, the thief is in the west and a woman is hiding him; if divined at night, the thief is in the northwest and a child is involved. Divination for warfare suggests caution is needed.

The *Bifa Fu* says: When the Heavenly General and the Earthly Spirit engage in an internal conflict, the affairs in question will be dangerous. The *Lunin Zuyao* states: In a reverse chant lesson, if巳 and亥 are in opposition, the presence of many巳 indicates change and alteration, often related to matters of acquiring wealth or documents; if further accompanied by the four young months of寅,申,巳, and亥 in reverse chant, it forms the four ultimate points of origin, with Teng Snake indicating alarm and White Tiger indicating injury, both of which are inauspicious. The *Zhipang Fu* explains: When the Heavenly General overcomes the Earthly Spirit, it signifies an external conflict, with calamity coming from outside; when the Earthly Spirit overcomes the Heavenly General, it indicates an internal conflict, with misfortune arising from within. The *Zhonghuang Jing* mentions: If theThe Post-horse appears in巳 or亥, the person is currently running about on a crossroads.

On the Yisi day, the eighth arrangement: the heavenly stem is on You.

The lesson pattern is a re-examination, accompanied by "Guasu" (a pattern indicating solitude and dispersion) and "Lide" (a pattern of being subjected to suppression yet striving to maintain self-discipline). The lesson meaning states: the酉 metal is overcoming the 乙 wood body, and the 戌 earth is theStorage of the Day Branch 巳 fire, pressing down upon the family dwelling; during the day, the three transmissions are all constrained by mutual overcoming, leading to a situation where one's actions are not under one's own control; there is a cutting gate at 辰, and the middle transmission is 未 with the旬丁, making it difficult to suppress one's thoughts; however, by following the official power of 酉 metal to seek wealth, the money ultimately comes from danger.

Yi wood is overcome by You metal, and Si fire is buried in Xu earth, so people suffer from personal misfortunes and their homes are dark and gloomy. When divining during the day, all three transmissions are restricted by conflicting influences, and nothing can be controlled by oneself. The Chén is occupied by Hekui and Xu, forming a 'Cutting the Gate' pattern, which indicates a situation of breaking through barriers and involving long journeys. The Middle Transmission is Wei, which is also the Ding deity of this ten-day cycle: these are signs of restlessness and instability, making it impossible to stop. The four deities You, Yin, Wei, and Zi all proceed from the Day Stem, successively overcoming each other, just like relying on the official power of You metal to plunder wealth. This is precisely wealth obtained through danger.

The divination shows that matters will be difficult and not smooth. The three transmissions are in a sequence of mutual control, indicating that there will be being bullied by others, which is an image of subordinates defying superiors. The day stem and day branch are in a harmful relationship, showing mutual suspicion in their hearts. The Guasu god is in the first transmission, indicating separation. If the divination is done at night and the empty void is again on the empty void, it is especially a sign of achieving nothing. Only those who are monks, Taoists, or people outside the secular world will have a favorable result.

Divination for weather shows that wind comes first and then rain follows. Divination for the household indicates that the spirit of the tomb covers the house, causing darkness and stagnation within, and one should beware of secret affairs. Divination for official rank shows difficulty at first but smoothness afterwards. Divination for seeking wealth suggests that obtaining it may bring misfortune. Divination for marriage indicates that although it is not suitable, if forced, the relationship will eventually become discordant. Divination for pregnancy warns of possible harm, while divination for childbirth shows a very smooth process. Divination for illness shows ominous signs but with a way to resolve them. Divination for loss indicates that the lost item is documents, and it can be found on the day of Shen. Divination for travel shows that there will be some danger first, followed by benefits. Divination for a traveler indicates that the person has not arrived yet but there will be news beforehand. Divination for disputes shows that one will lose at first but win later. Divination for capturing thieves indicates that the thief is likely a family servant or a monk or Taoist from the west. Divination for warfare warns of the possibility of the people losing unity and refusing to follow.

The "Bifa Fu" says: If the three transmissions are in a cycle of mutual control, it indicates that the person will be oppressed by many. If husband and wife each have private feelings, the household will be corrupt and licentious. The "Ke Jing" says: If the day stem's酉 is controlled by巳, and the day branch's戌 is controlled by乙, with the stem and branch mutually controlling each other, this is called "Jie Li Ke," indicating that the person's mind is scattered. The "Liu Ren Zhi Nan" records: In the year Jisi, with戌 as the month general, an official consulted about an assignment outside the region. The divination said: The day's wealth is located on戌, indicating that he would be assigned to the northern region. However, if he is stationed locally, he should look at the wealth god; if he is assigned outside, he should look at the post-horse. Now the post-horse is in the position of growth, which is午, so he must be assigned to the southern region. Then he asked: Is it better to draw the lot first or later? The answer was: It is better to draw later, because the first and middle transmissions are empty, but the final transmission shows the nobleman supporting the day stem. The next day, others drew first and got a large amount of silver for transporting supplies in Datong, while the official drew later and got a good position at the Jiujiang customs office.
