The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: When the moon covers the Chariot mansion, the nobleman will die, the empress will not be at peace, the prediction is eighty days.

"Xi Meng Divination" says: When the moon invades and covers Da Jiao star, a powerful state will perish, and military campaigns will not succeed; another interpretation is that the person in high position will worry about this, and the time will be three years; yet another interpretation is that Da Jiao star pierces the moon, and the emperor will dislike this celestial phenomenon. The single star of Da Jiao is the seat of the heavenly king. Chen Zhuo says: When the moon invades Da Jiao, there will be plague in the world; another interpretation is there will be floods; yet another interpretation is that when the moon covers Da Jiao, the emperor will die, and the time will be within thirteen years. Xi Meng says: When the moon invades Tian Lao star, it indicates unjust legal judgments. (Original book note: Tian Lao is another name for Guan Suo.)

Dong Xian and Xi Xian each consist of four stars, located above the Fang Su, which governs prevention of licentiousness. The following is a note from the original text: In the twentieth year of Emperor Xiaowu of the Eastern Jin Dynasty's Taoyuan era, in April, the moon invaded Dong Xian; Qin, the internal historian of Wu Prefecture, mobilized troops for defense, and various prefectures in Wu Xing rose up in response, becoming rebels. Shi Shen said: When the moon enters the Tian Shi Enclosure, the general will die, or there will be changes in the government's policies.

The esoteric text "Yellow River Chart: The Emperor's Enjoyment of the River" says: When the moon moves into the Heavenly Market Enclosure, or if it changes its path or stays there, the queen will have worries, and a general or prime minister may be executed in the market. Shi Shen says: When the moon invades the waiting star, there will be calamity. Shi Shen also says: When the moon invades the emperor's seat star and the ancestral star, the sovereign will have worries.

Xi Meng said: When the moon shows abnormality in the construction star, there will be rebellious ministers changing the emperor's laws; another interpretation is replacing generals and ministers, and many close attendants will die. The original commentary says: In the third year of Xiankang of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, in the ninth month on the fifth day of the fifth month (Wuzi), the moon invaded the construction star. The divination text says there will be replacement of the prime minister, another interpretation is that a general will die. In the fifth year of Xiankang, the prime minister Wang Dao died; on the day of Gengxu, the chancellor Taiwei Xi Jian and the general commander of the Western Expedition Yu Liang also died.

Shi Shen says: When the moon presses upon the Juan She star, there will be many deaths throughout the land. The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: When the moon enters the Wu Che and Tian Kuo, military affairs arise and roads become impassable. The original text's marginal notes say: The "Book of the Later Han · Astronomical Records" states that in the seventh year of Emperor Xiaowu of the Liu Song dynasty, December, the moon invaded Wu Che; afterwards, within two years, the emperor died, ministers and generals were executed, princes were killed, the empress died, and wars broke out in all directions, with the court sending various armies to suppress the rebels. Shi Shen says: When the moon invades Wu Che, military affairs arise and the imperial carriage moves.

"He Tu Di Lan Xi" says: The moon presses upon the star Tian Gao, the meeting will result in death, and there will be ministers outside the court who will be executed. Shi Shen says: The moon emerges from the southern path of Tian Men, the sovereign will dislike this celestial phenomenon, and the ministers will not be willing to submit.

The apocryphal text "He Tu Di Lan Xi" says: When the moon moves south of the southern river, both military calamities and drought will occur simultaneously, and the death of men will begin from this. Liu Xiang's "Hong Fan Wu Xing Zhuan Lun" says: When the moon enters the southern river and the戍 star, it indicates an outbreak of plague among the people. The "Yellow Emperor's Divination" says: When the moon emerges from the heavenly gate in the northern direction, the ruler of the Hu people will die, and there will be many deaths throughout the land. Shi Shen said: When the moon moves between the northern river and the戍 star, the country of civilized customs and etiquette will experience widespread warfare and blocked roads. The "He Tu Di Lan Xi" says: When the moon moves north of the northern river, both military calamities and floods will occur simultaneously, and the death of women will begin from this.

Shi Shen said: When the moon invades the five feudal stars, the feudal lords will be executed. The following is the original annotation: The "Astronomical Records" in the "Book of Song" says that in the third year of Emperor Xiaowu of the Liu Song dynasty, in the fourth month, the moon invaded the five feudal stars; at that time, Prince Liu Dan of Jingling rebelled, and the court sent Shen Qingzhi with the feathered forest soldiers to fight in the cities under his jurisdiction. The apocryphal text "The Yellow River Chart: The Emperor's Enjoyment of the River" says: When the moon enters the Xuanyuan, there will be chaos among the ministers in the court, and the event will occur within three years. "The Yellow River Chart: The Emperor's Enjoyment of the River" also says: When the moon moves through the middle of Xuanyuan, the female ruler will lose power; which star is invaded by the moon, the official corresponding to that star will be identified; another interpretation says that there is an official who has failed in his duties in the royal court.

Another record states: In the seventh month of Gengzi in the fifth year of Taoyuan of Emperor Xiaowu of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, the moon invaded the great star of Xuanyuan, and the queen consort Wang died in the ninth month of癸未. The divination text "Heavenly Map of the Emperor's View" says: When the moon invades the left and right angle stars of Xuanyuan, there will be ministers who are executed. Xi Meng said: When the moon covers Xuanyuan, the female ruler will have worries; the star that is covered will indicate the official position associated with that star. Shi Shen said: When the moon enters Xuanyuan, if it invades, presses, or stays there, there will be rebels and fires. The "Wuxian Divination" says: When the moon invades the Xiaomi star, the recluse will have worries. The following is the original commentary: Tan Daoluan's "Xu Jingyang Chou" says that Xie Shu and Li Qingxu of Kuaiji lived in Ruoye Mountain. At first, the moon invaded Xiaomi, at that time Dai Da was famous in Fu, and people worried about him, but soon Fu died. The people of Kuaiji mocked saying: The high scholars of Wu, are they really seeking death but cannot get it? (The names in the original text are corrupted or missing, so they are kept as they are.)

《黃帝占》曰：“月入中，犯乘少微，女主憂；一曰宰相易。”《荊州占》曰：“月犯少微南第一星，諸處士憂；犯第二星，諸儀士憂；犯第三星，諸博士憂；犯第四星，諸大夫憂；易史官黜。”石氏曰：“月入中，犯乘守少微，皆為五官亂，宰相憂。”《荊州占》曰：“道太微，為宮中逆亂，政不行，又曰月行太微中，貴者失勢，必奪權勞所中，成刑以官命之。”

The Jingzhou Divination says: When the moon invades the first star of the southern part of the Xiao Wei constellation, the common scholars will have worries; when it invades the second star, the common officials will have worries; when it invades the third star, the common doctoral students will have worries; when it invades the fourth star, the common senior officials will have worries, and the historians will be replaced and dismissed. Shi Shen says: When the moon enters and invades, presses upon, or stays in the Xiao Wei constellation, it indicates disorder among the five officials, and the prime minister will have worries. The Jingzhou Divination also says: When the moon passes through the Tai Wei constellation, it indicates rebellion and disorder within the palace, and the government orders will not be carried out; it also says that when the moon moves within the Tai Wei constellation, the powerful people will lose their power, and they will certainly lose their authority and position, the one who is attacked will be punished, and the same official name they are responsible for will be used to identify them.

《黃帝占》曰：“月行入太微中，皆為大臣有憂；一曰大臣死。”郗萌曰：“月入太微中，君弱臣強，四夷兵不制，有奸人來聽伺主之庭者；又曰有喪。”《荊州占》曰：“月入太微庭中，東出，大臣出令如主；入中華西門，出右掖門，必有反臣。”《荊州占》曰：“月犯太微庭，臣弒其主。”《海中占》曰：“月犯南門左右扉，將相有免墮者，期不出三年；左右扉者，執法也。”石氏曰：“月入太微庭，所中犯乘守者，皆為天子所誅，若有罪者。”

The Jingzhou Divination says: When the moon enters the Taimei Court and exits from the east, the ministers will issue orders as if they were the sovereign; when it enters from the Central Gate of the West and exits from the Right Wing Gate, there will certainly be a rebellious minister. The Jingzhou Divination also says: When the moon invades the Taimei Court, a minister will kill his sovereign. The Hai Zhong Divination says: When the moon invades the left and right gates of the Southern Gate, there will be ministers who are dismissed and removed from office, and this will happen within three years; the left and right gates refer to the Left Law Officer and the Right Law Officer stars. Shi Shen says: When the moon enters the Taimei Court, all the stars that are confronted, pressed upon, or guarded by the moon will have their people executed by the Son of Heaven or punished.

《帝覽嬉》曰：“月入太微庭，所中犯乘守者，各以其官名之。”《春秋緯合誠圖》曰：“入華闕門者，臣不臣。”石氏曰：“月入太微中，乘東西門若左右掖門，而南出端門者，皆為臣弒君之候也。”《荊州占》曰：“月入天子宮者，為大臣者死。”《帝覽嬉》曰：“月入太微而出端門者，臣不臣。”石氏曰：“日入太微中，乘東西門若左右掖門，而南出端門者，皆為必有反臣；又曰入西門出東門，皆為人君不安，欲求賢佐；入中華西門，出中華東門，皆為臣出令；入太陰西門，出太陰東門，皆為天下大亂；有喪，若大水。”

The "Spring and Autumn Supplementary Diagram: The Harmonious Truth Diagram" says: When the moon enters the Huakuemen gate, it signifies that ministers will not abide by their duties. Shi Shen says: When the moon enters the Taimei enclosure, and suppresses or occupies the eastern gate, western gate, or the left and right yemmen gates, and exits from the southern endmen gate, it is a sign of ministers killing the sovereign. The "Jingzhou Divination" says: When the moon enters the sovereign's palace, senior ministers will die. The "Yellow River Chart: The Emperor's Delight and Joy" also says: When the moon enters Taimei and exits from the endmen gate, it signifies ministers not abiding by their duties. Shi Shen also says: When the sun enters the Taimei enclosure, and suppresses or occupies the eastern gate, western gate, or the left and right yemmen gates, and exits from the southern endmen gate, it indicates there will certainly be a rebellious minister; if it enters from the western gate and exits from the eastern gate, it indicates the sovereign is restless and seeks a virtuous minister to assist him; if it enters from the western gate of Zhonghua and exits from the eastern gate of Zhonghua, it indicates ministers will take the sovereign's commands; if it enters from the western gate of Taoyin and exits from the eastern gate of Taoyin, it indicates great chaos, mourning, or a great flood.

郗萌曰：“月入古門而折出右掖門，皆為大臣假言之威而不從主命；月入西門，犯天庭，出端門，皆為大臣代主。”（按《宋志》晉恭帝元熙元年正月丙午，三月壬寅，五月丙申，七月己卯，皆月犯太微，二年六月三日，帝遜位於宋。”）《黃帝占》曰：“月行入及留太微中，為大臣有憂。”石氏曰：“月出東掖門，為將受命東南；出西掖門，為將受命西南。”《荊州占》曰：“東南為德事，西南為刑事，期以春夏。”《荊州占》曰：“月中犯乘守四輔，為臣失禮，輔臣有誅者。”

The original commentary states: According to the "Book of Song · Astronomical Records," in the first year of Yuanxi of Emperor Gong of Eastern Jin, on the 15th day of the first lunar month, the 15th day of the third lunar month, the 15th day of the fifth lunar month, and the 15th day of the seventh lunar month, the moon invaded Taiwei. On the third day of the sixth lunar month of the second year, Emperor Gong of Eastern Jin abdicated the throne to the Liu Song dynasty. The "Yellow Emperor's Divination" says: When the moon enters the Taiwei region or stays there, it indicates that ministers will have worries. Shi Shen said: When the moon exits from the eastern gate, it indicates that generals will be ordered to campaign in the southeast; when the moon exits from the western gate, it indicates that generals will be ordered to campaign in the southwest. The "Jingzhou Divination" says: The southeast indicates matters of virtue and benevolence, while the southwest indicates matters of punishment and execution, and these events occur in the spring and summer seasons. The "Jingzhou Divination" also says: When the moon is directly in the center and invades, presses upon, or stays in the four auxiliary stars, it indicates that ministers will lose decorum, and some of the ministers will be executed.

Shi Shen says: When the moon invades Huangdi's seat, the person in the highest position will have worries; if it is exactly in the center, the main person of Huangdi's seat will be replaced, and the world will be in chaos. 《River Chart Emperor's Delight and Joy》says: When the moon invades Huangdi's seat, the whole country will be in great chaos, with half of it surviving and half perishing. 《Sea of Divination》says: When the moon invades Huangdi's seat, there will be disorderly ministers in the court, and the monarch will dislike this celestial phenomenon. Xi Meng says: When the moon invades Huangdi's seat, ministers will rebel and assassinate their sovereign, and the matter will succeed.

Shi Shen said: When the moon invades the seats of the Four Emperors, or presses upon them, the ruler will have worries. The Jingzhou Divination says: When the moon invades the seats of the Four Emperors, the feudal lords will suffer misfortune. Gan De said: When the moon is directly in the middle and invades, presses upon, or stays on the seats of the Four Emperors, the whole country will perish. Shi Shen (the original text says 'Shi Wang', which is likely a mistake for 'Shi School') said: When the moon is directly in the middle and invades, presses upon, or stays on the screen stars, the ruler and ministers will lose decorum, and among the ministers, some will be executed or dismissed. The Xiaojing Neiji says: When the moon enters the Three Thrones, the ruler will have great worries and misfortunes, and calamity will come from the ministers. The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: When the moon enters the Three Thrones, the ministers will become the Son of Heaven, and the royal family will jointly kill the ruler.

The Kulu Star consists of ten stars located south of the Horn Mansion, and it is the heavenly military storehouse. Xi Meng said: When the moon is near the host star in the Yu Lin Jun (Imperial Guards) constellation, there will be great military movements. Shi Shen said: When the moon invades or presses upon the Bei Luo Shi Men Star, or is exactly in the center of it, it indicates great military disturbances throughout the land. Shi Shen said: When the moon enters the Heavenly Granary Star, it signifies the dispersal of treasures, anxious ministers within the court, and military disturbances in the land. Shi Shen said: When the moon invades the Heavenly Granary, there will be movements concerning the transportation of grain. Shi Shen said: When the moon enters the Heavenly Granary, military disturbances will arise in the markets. The "Xi Meng Divination" says: When the moon passes through the Hu Shi Star Cluster, ministers will overstep the authority of the sovereign. The "Xi Meng Divination" says: When the moon undergoes an abnormal change in the Tian Wang Star, there will be two armies arrayed but no battle; another interpretation suggests no military action will occur, or only minor skirmishes; yet another interpretation suggests there will be water-related events.

Shi Shen said: When the moon is in Tian Li star, ministers should be guilty and those who wish to rebel will be imprisoned; another interpretation says the sovereign will have great worries. The four stars of Tian Li are in the northern part of the Big Dipper, indicating the imprisonment of noblemen. The book of纬 (wei) called "He Tu Di Lan Xi" says: When the moon presses upon Tian Gao star, generals will die, and there will be execution among the outer ministers. The "Huang Di Zhan" says: When the moon enters the five Huang, it indicates the rise of military affairs, the blocking of military roads, great chaos throughout the land, and a change of regime; another interpretation says noblemen will die. The "Huang Di Zhan" also says: When the moon is directly in the middle and invades, presses upon, or stays in the five Huang, it indicates an occurrence within twenty days, with the rise of military affairs.

郗萌曰：“月入咸池，暴兵起，期四十日。”郗萌曰：“月入咸池，有迷惑人主者。”《荊州者》曰：“月入咸池，天下大亂，人君死，易政，以入日占國。”郗萌曰：“月有不從天街者，皆為政令不行，不出其年，有兵；又曰行天街中，天下寧，百姓順；一曰行天街外，百姓凶。”

Xi Meng said: When the moon enters the Xianchi star, there will be a sudden outbreak of cruel military actions, and the occurrence will be within forty days. The three stars of Xianchi are located among the Five Chariots, and they presage fish ponds and water marshes. Xi Meng also said: When the moon enters Xianchi, there will be people who deceive the ruler. The "Jingzhou Divination" (the original text says "Jingzhou") says: When the moon enters Xianchi, the whole country will be in great disorder, the ruler will die, and the government will be changed. The prediction should be based on the day branch when the moon enters to determine which country it will affect. Xi Meng also said: When the moon does not follow the celestial path, it indicates that the government orders will not be carried out, and there will be military conflicts within the same year; another saying is that when the moon moves along the celestial path, the whole country will be peaceful and the people will be obedient; another view is that when the moon moves outside the celestial path, the people will suffer misfortune.

The Ku Xing is located to the south of the Xu Xu mansion and is listed alongside the "Qi Xing," both of which are associated with mourning and lamentation. The Huangdi Divination says: When the moon enters the "Tian Ji" star—the original text notes that Tian Ji refers to a pile of straw—it indicates the dispersal of treasures and wealth, the ruler's anxiety and fear, and the presence of powerful ministers within the court.

《郗萌占》曰：“月乘鍵閉星，大人憂。”《郗萌占》曰：“月犯乘鍵閉星，大臣大誤，天子不尊事天神，致火災於宗廟，天子崩；一曰王者不宜出宮、下殿，有偃兵於宗廟者。”

The term "Wu Xian inner and outer officials" refers to the two systems of constellations said to have been passed down by the Wu Xian family of the Yin dynasty: the star officials surrounding the north celestial pole, known as the inner officials, and those outside the twenty-eight mansions, known as the outer officials. The "Xi Meng Divination" also says: When the moon invades and passes over the Jian Bi star — "Fan" refers to the moon approaching the star to within one degree — this indicates that a minister will commit a great mistake, the Son of Heaven will not be reverent in worshiping heavenly spirits, leading to a fire in the ancestral temple and the death of the Son of Heaven. Another interpretation is that the ruler should not leave the palace gate or descend from the throne at this time, as there may be hidden soldiers and weapons in the ancestral temple plotting rebellion.

《黃帝占》曰：“月行天淵中，若犯之，貴人死；一曰臣逾主。”石氏曰：“月犯鈇鑕，有戮臣。”《黃帝占》曰：“月犯鈇鑕者，為大臣誅。”《郗萌占》曰：“月中犯乘守鈇鑕者，為鈇鑕用；一曰兵將有憂。”《石氏占》曰：“月行天廄，星天為兵歸；月行天廄，上不安。”

The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: When the moon enters the 'Tian Yuan' star region, if it also invades it, it indicates the death of a person of high status; another interpretation is that a minister will overstep the sovereign. Tian Yuan is located east of the Bie star, and originally governs matters of ponds and irrigation. The Shi school says: When the moon invades the 'Fu Zhi' star, there will be the execution of ministers. Fu is a chopping knife, and Zhi is the chopping block placed underneath, together forming the instrument of beheading, hence the star is named after this, and thus indicates punishment by execution. The Yellow Emperor's Divination also says: When the moon invades the Fu Zhi star, it indicates the execution of high-ranking ministers. The Xi Meng Divination says: When the moon is in the center, invades, dominates, and stays lingering over the Fu Zhi star—'staying' refers to the moon lingering near the star for many days—this indicates that the Fu Zhi instruments will be used; another interpretation is that the general in command will have worries. The Shi school says: When the moon enters the 'Tian Jiu' region, the original text has some errors and omissions, but the general meaning is that the military forces should return; when the moon enters Tian Jiu, it indicates the sovereign's unrest. Tian Jiu is the celestial stable, originally governing matters of carriages, horses, stables, and herding.

《石氏占》曰：“月傍有氣，圓而周匝黃白，名為暈。”巫咸曰：“月之暈者，臣專權之象。”《石氏占》曰：“月暈受衡，所在之國安。”甘氏曰：“月暈，戰兵不合，若軍罷。”《甘氏占》曰：“日月皆暈，戰兵不合。”（謂晝有日暈，夜有月暈也。）

The Shi school says: When clouds appear around the moon, forming a round shape that completely surrounds the moon, with a yellow or white color, this is called "hun." (A lunar halo is actually caused by sunlight passing through high-altitude ice crystals in the atmosphere, refracting into a ring shape. However, ancient people regarded it as an important omen.) Wu Xian says: When the moon produces a halo, it signifies that ministers are seizing power. The Shi school also says: If the halo exactly aligns with the "Heng," which is the fifth star of the Big Dipper called Yu Heng, then the territory corresponding to that area will be peaceful. The Gan school says: When the moon produces a halo, the two opposing armies will not fight, or the armies will cease hostilities. The Gan school also says: When both the sun and the moon produce halos, the two opposing armies will not fight. 京房《易傳》曰：“凡月暈七日，無雨大風，兵作土功起。”《高宗占》曰：“月暈，明王自將兵。”《荊州占》曰：“月暈，赤有光；主起兵，城降。”《帝覽嬉》曰：“月暈，兵春起，不勝。”《荊州占》曰：“月終歲不暈，天下和親。”

Jing Fang's "Yi Zhuan" says: Whenever the moon develops a halo, within seven days if it does not rain, there will be a strong wind, and there will be military campaigns and large-scale construction projects. "Gao Zong Zhan" says: When the moon develops a halo, it indicates that an enlightened king personally leads his army to campaign. "Jingzhou Zhan" says: When the moon develops a halo that is red and luminous, it indicates military conflict, with cities being captured and surrendered. "Di Lan Xi" says: When the moon develops a halo, military actions will be initiated in spring, and the side that launches the attack will not succeed. "Jingzhou Zhan" says: If the moon does not develop a halo for an entire year, it indicates peace throughout the land, with harmonious relations and frequent marriages and exchanges between different regions.

《荊州占》曰：“四孟月之七日，四仲月之八日，四季月之九日，皆當月暈。暈不以其日，不出三日有暴風甚雨。”石氏曰：“月以正月一日、二日暈，必有土功。”《荊州占》曰：“月春二暈者，其民好鬥，不有從民，歲必大惡，不出一年糧貴。”《石氏占》曰：“正月上旬一暈，樹木蟲；二暈，禾穀蟲，三暈震雷。”

The "Jingzhou Divination" says: On the seventh day of the first month, fourth month, seventh month, and tenth month, and on the eighth day of the second month, fifth month, eighth month, and eleventh month, and on the ninth day of the third month, sixth month, ninth month, and twelfth month, there should be a lunar halo. If the lunar halo does not appear on these days, there will be strong winds and heavy rains within three days. The Shi school says: If the moon produces a halo on the first and second days of the first lunar month, there will certainly be construction projects involving earth and wood. The "Jingzhou Divination" says: If the moon produces a halo twice in spring, it indicates that the people in this region are prone to violence and fighting, and there are no obedient citizens who follow orders. The harvest will certainly be very poor, and the price of grain will rise within a year. The Shi school divination says: If the moon produces a halo once in the first ten days of the first lunar month, trees will be infested with insects; if it produces a halo twice, the crops and grains will be infested with insects; if it produces a halo three times, there will be thunder and lightning.

《荊州占》曰：“月暈四仲月之八日，四季月之九日，三日不雨，皆為月蝕。”《河圖帝覽嬉》曰：“同暈中赤外青，群臣親內；外赤中青，群臣內其身，外其心。”《荊州占》曰：“月暈四仲之八日，四季月之九日，三日下雨，皆為月蝕。”《河圖帝覽嬉》曰：“月暈中赤外青，群臣親內；外赤中青，群臣內其身，外其心。”

《荊州占》曰：“一月五六七八九暈，天下有亡地者；十一暈，天下更政。”《帝覽嬉》曰：“五月中九暈以上者，道上有熱死者。”

The "Jingzhou Divination" states: If the moon produces a halo five, six, seven, eight, or nine times within a single month, it indicates that there will be a vassal lord who loses his territory. If the moon produces a halo up to eleven times in a single month, it signifies that the state will change its policies and replace its ruling officials. The "Imperial Inspection of Delight" states: If the moon produces a halo nine times or more in the month of May, it indicates that the heat will be extremely intense, and there will be people who die from the heat on the roads.

《荊州占》曰：“正月九日、十六日夜月暈者，其五月有令；十日暈者，三月有令；十一日暈者，其月大旱；十二日、十五日暈者，飛蟲多死；二十三日、二十四日暈者，五穀不成；二十五日、二十六日暈者，飛蟲多死；二十三日、二十四日暈者，五穀不成；二十五日、二十六日暈者，女枲貴。”《荊州占》曰：“月以庚戌暈，有救；以遲疾為期。”（謂暈疾亦疾，暈遲亦遲。）

The *Jingzhou Divination* says: In the first lunar month, if a halo appears around the moon on a Jia or Yi day, Jia and Yi belong to wood, indicating high prices for timber and many illnesses among the people; if a halo appears on a Bing or Ding day, Bing and Ding belong to fire, indicating drought and depreciation of money; if a halo appears on a Wu or Ji day, Wu and Ji belong to earth, indicating a good harvest with slight drought, and rising prices for land and houses; if a halo appears on a Geng or Xin day, Geng and Xin belong to metal, and metal signifies punishment, but actually it indicates the imperial court issuing a pardon; if a halo appears on a Ren or Gui day, Ren and Gui belong to water, indicating flooding.

高宗《八節月暈占》曰：“月以立春四十六日內暈者，亦有兵；黑多水，蟲為災，逆賊生，民生子多怪。月以春分四十六日內暈者，赤為兵；黃白憂多蟲。月以立夏四十六日內暈者，赤少水；白旱，萬物不出者死，人民流亡；月以夏至四十六日內暈者，赤小水；黃白萬物化為白耳。月以立秋四十六內暈者，赤小白，明日甚雨，出黃羽異身，傷害五穀之心。謂螟螣之類也月以秋分四十六日內暈者，赤少黃白，大雷發，折木、殺人。月以立冬四十六日內暈者，赤重如蓋狀，明日甚霧；黑多冰霜，春多風。月以冬至四十六日內暈，赤大白，春多風，殺人。”

The book "Eight Festival Lunar Eclipse Divination" by Emperor Gaozong says that if the moon produces a halo within forty-six days after the Start of Spring, it indicates there will be military conflicts; if the halo is dark, there will be heavy rain, pests will cause disasters, rebels will increase, and many children born will be deformed. If the moon produces a halo within forty-six days after the Vernal Equinox, a red halo indicates military conflicts; a yellow and white halo indicates many worries and pests. If the moon produces a halo within forty-six days after the Start of Summer, a red halo indicates less rain; a white halo indicates drought, causing all things to wither and die, and people to flee. If the moon produces a halo within forty-six days after the Summer Solstice, a red halo indicates less water; a yellow and white halo indicates the growth of white mushrooms and fungi. If the moon produces a halo within forty-six days after the Start of Autumn, a halo with red and white tones will be followed by heavy rain the next day, and yellow-winged strange insects will appear, damaging the heart leaves of grain crops. If the moon produces a halo within forty-six days after the Autumnal Equinox, a halo with more yellow and white than red indicates great thunderstorms, breaking trees and killing people and livestock. If the moon produces a halo within forty-six days after the Start of Winter, a red halo with layers resembling a chariot canopy indicates fog the next day; a dark halo indicates more frost and ice, and more wind in the coming spring. If the moon produces a halo within forty-six days after the Winter Solstice, a red halo with large white patches indicates more wind in the coming spring, and wind can harm people's lives.

京房《易傳》曰：“正月三暈，所宿國小飢，五暈，大飢。”

Jing Fang's "Yi Zhuan" says: If the moon produces a halo three times in the first lunar month, the state corresponding to the constellation where the moon resides that night will experience a minor famine; if it produces a halo five times, there will be a major famine. The term "suo su" refers to the constellation where the moon stays that night. The twenty-eight constellinations are each associated with a state or region on earth, known as the "fen yi."

The "Jingzhou Divination" says: When the moon has four layers of halo, it indicates the fall of a country and the death of a king; five layers, it indicates the death of a female ruler in the corresponding region; seven layers, it indicates a change of ruler across the land; eight layers, it indicates the fall of a country across the land. (Original book note: In the seventh year of Han Gaozu, the moon had a halo, which surrounded the constellations Shen and Maoshen, totaling seven layers. The divination text said: Between the constellations Bi and Maoshen is the "Heavenly Street," with the northern part belonging to the Hu people and the southern part belonging to the Central Plains. Maoshen governs the Xiongnu, Shen governs the state of Zhao, and Bi governs military affairs at the borders. In that year, Han Gaozu was indeed surrounded by Modu Chanyu at Baideng.)

The *Gaozong Divination* says: If the moon has ten layers of halo, it indicates a change of emperor throughout the realm. Jing Fang's *Yi Transmission* says: If the moon has twelve layers of halo, it indicates that half of the land will be lost. The *Dilangxi* says: If the moon has two layers of halo, and the added layer is on the outer side, then secret plots will be carried out outside the court; if the added layer is on the inner side, then secret plots will be carried out within the palace.

《帝覽嬉》曰：“月色黃白交暈，一黃一赤所守之國受兵。”《高宗占》曰：“月交暈，赤有光，其國不出二年遇兵。”《石氏占》曰：“月交暈貫月，有事從貫擊者勝，殺將；有珥，有喜。”

The term "interlaced halo" refers to two halos crossing each other and their colors blending. The "High Emperor's Divination" states: When the moon produces an interlaced halo with a red and luminous hue, the country corresponding to the area governed by the moon will face military conflict within two years. The "Shi School Divination" says: When the moon produces an interlaced halo that spans across the moon's body, if there is warfare, the side advancing in the direction of the spanning halo will win and be able to kill the enemy's general. If there is also a "ear-like" light appearing beside the halo, which looks like a small light resembling an ear on the side of the moon, it indicates there will be a joyful event.

《荊州占》曰：“月暈連如環，為兩軍兵起，君爭地。”《石氏占》曰：“月暈一重，下缺不合，上有冠戴，傍有兩珥，白暈連環，貫珥接北斗，國有大兵，大戰流血，其地紛紜，不出一年憂。”

The *Jingzhou Divination* says: When the moon is surrounded by a single ring of light that forms a continuous chain, it indicates two armies will engage in battle, with rulers fighting over territory. The *Shi school* says: When the moon is surrounded by a single layer of light, it is incomplete at the bottom and does not close properly. Above it, there is a "guan" and a "dai" aura—guan is like a hat covering the moon, and dai is like an object placed on top of the moon. On both sides, there are two "er" auras. The white halo forms a ring, connecting through the two er auras and extending all the way to the Big Dipper. This indicates the country will face major military conflicts, large-scale bloodshed, and unrest in that region. Within a year, there will be calamity.

《石氏占》曰：“月暈如連環，重暈北斗魁前第一第二星，大臣下獄，流移一千里；又曰暈輔星，大臣下獄。”《荊州占》曰：“月暈如連環，有白虹干暈不及月，女貴人有陰謀亂。”

The Shi school says: When the moon halo appears as a series of concentric rings, enclosing the first star "Tianshu" and the second star "Tianxuan" of the Big Dipper, it indicates that ministers will be imprisoned and exiled to a distance of more than a thousand li. Another interpretation says that if the halo surrounds the star "Fuxing" near the sixth star of the Big Dipper, it also indicates that ministers will be imprisoned. The Jingzhou school says: When the moon halo appears as a series of concentric rings, and there is a white rainbow-like light interfering with the halo but not touching the moon itself, it indicates that a noblewoman is secretly plotting rebellion.

《甘氏占》曰：“月暈歲星，色不明，主人勝客，明、客勝主人。”巫咸曰：“月暈歲星，其國主死。”《荊州占》曰：“月暈歲星，糴貴，石千文，民相食。”《海中占》曰：“月暈歲星，其主病；重暈，囚死或大水；五暈，人主有病喪。”

The Gan school says: When the moon's halo surrounds the planet Jupiter, and the halo is dark and unclear, it indicates that the defending side will defeat the attacking side. Diviners refer to the native land's side as the "host" and the distant invading side as the "guest." If the halo is bright, then the guest side will defeat the host side. (Jupiter is the planet of wood, taking about twelve years to orbit the sky, moving through one sign each year, hence its name.) Wu Xian says: When the moon's halo surrounds Jupiter, the king of the corresponding region will die. The Jingzhou school says: When the moon's halo surrounds Jupiter, grain prices will soar, with one stone of grain selling for a thousand coins, and people will suffer from hunger so severe that they will eat each other. The Hai Zhong school says: When the moon's halo surrounds Jupiter, the king of the country will fall ill; if the halo forms two layers, prisoners will die in prison or there will be a great flood; if the halo forms five layers, the ruler will suffer from illness or death.

《高宗占》曰：“月暈歲星，三復之，相出走，戰不勝，所宿國飢。”《荊州占》曰：“月暈歲星，三復之，人相擊，客不勝，所擊主人勝；五復之，國女主死。”《帝覽嬉》曰：“月暈四重華，五復之，所宿其國，主死；三復之，黜相；一曰客畔之，不合所攻，主人勝。”《帝覽嬉》曰：“月暈，回留歲星所守之國，歲大熟。石氏曰：“歲星與月合，在氐而暈，不出四十日，有德令。”

The book "Gaozong Zhàn" says: When the moon's halo surrounds the planet Jupiter, the halo appears three times, forming and then dispersing three times (in divination texts this is called "three repetitions"), indicating that the prime minister will flee, and battles will not be victorious. The country corresponding to the constellation where the moon is located will suffer from famine. The book "Jingzhou Zhàn" says: When the moon's halo surrounds the planet Jupiter, the halo appears three times, forming and then dispersing three times, indicating that both sides will fight, the attacking side will not be victorious, and the defending side will win; if the halo appears five times, forming and then dispersing five times, it indicates that the country will have a female ruler dying. The book "Dilangxi" says: When the moon's halo has four layers and shines brightly, and the halo appears five times, forming and then dispersing five times, it indicates that the country corresponding to the constellation where the moon is located will have its king die; if the halo appears three times, forming and then dispersing three times, it indicates that the prime minister will be dismissed; another interpretation says that the attacking side will betray, and there will be no battle, but the attacking side's plan will fail, and the defending side will win. The book "Dilangxi" also says: When the moon's halo circles around and remains on the planet Jupiter, the country corresponding to the constellation that the planet Jupiter is guarding will have a bountiful harvest of five grains that year. The Shi school says: When the moon and the planet Jupiter are in the same degree and meet at the constellation Dishi, and a halo is formed, within forty days, the court will issue an edict of benevolent governance.

The Wu Xian Divination says: When the moon's halo surrounds the Malefic of violence, it indicates that the female ruler will suffer calamity, or there will be death. (The Malefic of violence is the planet Mars, which shines with a flickering light like fire, moves forward and backward unpredictably, causing confusion, hence its name. It presages warfare and loss.) The Wu Xian Divination says: When the moon's halo surrounds the Malefic of violence, the ruler of the country corresponding to that region will die. The Jingzhou Divination says: When the moon's halo surrounds the Malefic of violence, there will be armies stationed in the outskirts, a great battle will take place, and after the battle, the country will ultimately perish. The Jingzhou Divination says: When within the moon's halo there is a red star, which is the Malefic of violence, warfare will be launched within three months. The Hai Zhong Divination says: When the moon's halo surrounds the Malefic of violence, and the halo appears three times, forming and then dispersing, it indicates that the prominent people of the country will die one after another.

《海中占》曰：“月暈熒惑，五復之，主出走。”《荊州占》曰：“月暈熒惑，五復之，主死。”《帝覽嬉》曰：“月暈回熒惑，所守之國亡：又客兵入境，為寇掠。”《帝覽嬉》曰：“月暈回熒惑，其色惡不明，客敗，其色明如角，則客勝。”郗萌曰：“月暈胃熒惑，在其中天，下有兵發於魏國，不出一年，大赦。”

The Jingzhou Divination says: When the moon halo surrounds Mars, and the five degrees repeatedly change, it indicates the death of the king. The Emperor's Enjoyment says: When the moon halo circles around Mars, it indicates the country corresponding to the area governed by Mars will perish; also, it indicates the invading army from the enemy's side will enter the territory and plunder everywhere. The Emperor's Enjoyment also says: When the moon halo circles around Mars, if the halo is dark and unclear, it indicates the enemy will be defeated; if the halo is bright and haspointed rays, it indicates the enemy will win. Xi Meng says: When the moon halo surrounds the Stomach mansion and Mars, and it is in the central position of the sky, it indicates there will be military actions starting from the state of Wei, and within a year, the court will issue a great amnesty.
