The 'South River' consists of three stars, and the 'North River' also consists of three stars, both enclosing the Eastern Well mansion, which is like the heavenly gate and palace. The South River governs the south, and the North River governs the north, both overseeing the passage of people and goods. The Shi school says: if the guest star departs from the South River, there will be mourning for a man outside, and if it is surrounded by three layers of light halo, there will certainly be the surrender of cities and towns. Another interpretation says: if the guest star confronts between the north and south rivers, the Son of Heaven will flee abroad, the ministers will seize power, and the king will have to issue a great amnesty to eliminate calamity. The ministers will be arrogant and self-important, causing the Son of Heaven to be isolated and without support.

《黃帝占》曰：“客星守南河界，有水。”《荊州占》曰：“客星守南河界，民多溫病。”齊伯曰：“客星出南河，若守之，蠻夷兵道不通；一曰：入南河界，為旱災，天下大飢，期二年。”郄萌曰：“客星行南河界中，若守之，皆為旱。”

The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: If a guest star stops and stays at the southern river boundary, there will be water disasters. The Jingzhou Divination says: If a guest star stops and stays at the southern river boundary, the people will suffer from many cases of hot and feverish epidemic diseases. Qi Bo says: If a guest star appears in the southern river or stays there, the four surrounding barbarian tribes will raise armies and roads will be blocked; another interpretation is that if it enters the southern river boundary, it will cause drought, leading to widespread famine, and the fulfillment period is two years. Xi Meng says: If a guest star passes through the middle of the southern river boundary or stops there, it indicates drought.

郄萌曰：“客星入北河界。從東入，九十日有兵；從西入，六十日有喪。”郄萌曰：“客星他所來，入北河界間，諸侯有奸。”《甄曜度》曰：“客星出北河，朔兵動，關道塞，其國有憂；一曰：入北河，為水、飢，期一年。”《黃帝占》曰：“北河界多客星，朔兵起。”

Xie Meng said: A guest star entering the northern river region, if it comes from the east, there will be military affairs within ninety days; if it comes from the west, there will be mourning events within sixty days. Xie Meng said: A guest star coming from elsewhere and entering between the northern river region indicates that among the feudal lords, someone is plotting rebellion. The "Zhen Yao Du" said: A guest star appearing in the northern river region indicates the mobilization of northern troops and the blocking of passageways and roads, and the country corresponding to that region will have troubles; another interpretation is that entering the northern river region signifies water disasters and famine, and the fulfillment period is one year. The "Huang Di Zhan" said: A multitude of guest stars in the northern river region indicates the outbreak of military conflicts in the north.

郄萌曰：“北河界下多小星者，民不治，將不明，多有失職。”郄萌曰：“客星若赤星，守北河界，臣賊主；一曰：大臣誅。”《荊州占》曰：“客星守北河界，后有乳疾。”郄萌曰：“客星見南北河界間，奸人在中。”《帝覽嬉》曰：“大客星居兩界間，天下有難，道在天門中，邦家不通。”

Xie Meng said: Below the Northern River boundary, the small stars are densely scattered, the people cannot be properly governed, generals are dull and unclear, and officials often fail in their duties. Xie Meng said: A guest star or a red star is stationed at the Northern River boundary, indicating that ministers may plot against the sovereign; another interpretation is that a high-ranking minister will be executed. The "Jingzhou Divination" says: When a guest star is stationed at the Northern River boundary, the empress will suffer from an illness in her breast. Xie Meng said: When a guest star appears between the Southern and Northern River boundaries, there are wicked people mixed among them. The "Di Lian Xi" says: A large guest star is stationed between the Southern and Northern Rivers, indicating that there will be calamities throughout the land; this path corresponds to the heavenly gate, and thus states will be cut off from each other and unable to communicate.

石氏曰：“客星干犯五諸侯，王室大亂，兵起，天子宗廟不祀。”《海中占》曰：“客星出五諸侯，大臣有憂，若執法者有罪；一曰：議臣有黜者。”郄萌曰：“客星守五諸侯，天下大亂。”

The Shi school says: A guest star conflicting with the 'Five Princes' indicates great disorder in the royal house, the outbreak of military conflicts, and the discontinuation of sacrifices to the Son of Heaven's ancestral temple. The 'Five Princes' are the five planets located north of the East Well mansion, symbolizing the feudal princes who have been granted territories, and also overseeing the investigation and prosecution of crimes, and the prevention of unexpected events. The book Hai Zhong Zhan says: When a guest star appears in the 'Five Princes', there will be worries for the ministers, or officials in charge of criminal law will be guilty; another interpretation is that ministers involved in deliberations on state affairs may be dismissed. Xie Meng says: When a guest star remains in the 'Five Princes', great chaos will occur throughout the land.

郄萌曰：“客星守五諸侯，天子親屬失位，大水行，五穀大貴，天下民多死於道旁者，秦國尤甚。”《荊州占》曰：“客星守五諸侯，諸侯亡地；一曰：諸侯有憂，秦國受重殃。”

Xie Meng said: A guest star remains over the Five Peers, the royal family of the Son of Heaven loses their titles, great floods spread widely, the prices of the five grains soar, and many people throughout the land starve to death by the roadside, with the region of Qin suffering especially severely. The "Jingzhou Divination" states: When a guest star remains over the Five Peers, the feudal lords will lose their territories; another interpretation says that the feudal lords face calamities, and the state of Qin will suffer profound misfortunes.

石氏曰：“客星干犯積水，兵起宮門，宗廟毀絕，大臣有憂。”巫咸曰：“客星出積水，天下大水，溝渠溢，有攻堤防之事，期不出年。”

The Shi school says: A guest star conflicting with 'Accumulated Water' indicates a military revolt occurring within the palace gate, destruction of the ancestral temples, and worries for the ministers. 'Accumulated Water' is a single star located in the northwest of the Northern River, responsible for storing water, providing water for the ancestral temples and sacrificial wine. Therefore, its divination includes both water-related events and matters concerning the ancestral temples. Wu Xian says: When a guest star appears in 'Accumulated Water', the whole country will experience a great flood, canals will overflow, and urgent repairs to dikes will be necessary, but the prophecy will not be fulfilled in the same year.

石氏曰：“客星干犯積薪，有亂臣在宗廟。”石氏曰：“客星出積薪，有憂，若以薪蒿之事而致罪者。”

The Shi school says: A guest star conflicting with 'Accumulated Firewood' indicates a minister who causes disorder among the ancestral temples. The star 'Accumulated Firewood' is located east of the Accumulated Water, and it oversees the piling of firewood for cooking in the ancestral temples. Therefore, its divination also relates to the ancestral temples. The Shi school says: When a guest star appears at 'Accumulated Firewood', there will be calamity, or someone may be punished for matters related to firewood.

石氏曰：“客星干犯水位，水道不通，伏兵在水中，以水為害。”《荊州占》曰：“客星守水位而川流溢。”《玉曆》曰：“客星出水位，天下以水為令，法官有憂，若臣下有謀，兵起，期三年。”

The Shi school says: A guest star conflicting with the 'water position' indicates that waterways are blocked, and there are hidden troops concealed in the water, which will cause harm through water. The four stars of the 'water position' are located east of the Well mansion, and they oversee matters concerning water balance and rivers. The "Jingzhou Divination" states: If a guest star remains at the water position, rivers and streams will overflow. The "Jade Calendar" says: If a guest star appears at the water position, the whole country will issue decrees concerning water control, officials in charge of laws and regulations will have worries, or ministers may plot secretly, and military actions will arise, with the fulfillment of this omen occurring within three years.

石氏曰：“客星干犯軒轅，近者誅滅宗族，王者以赦除咎。”（按司馬彪《天文志》曰：孝明帝永平十四年正月戊子，客星出昴，六十日，在軒轅右角稍滅。軒轅右角為貴相，昴為獄事，客星守之，為大獄。是時考楚事未竟，司徒虞延與楚王英黨與交，皆伏誅也。）

The Shi school says: A guest star conflicting with "Xuanyuan" indicates that a close minister will be executed and his entire family will be destroyed by association. The king must use a great amnesty to eliminate this calamity. "Xuanyuan" consists of seventeen stars located to the north of the Seven Stars mansion, resembling the body of a yellow dragon, symbolizing the empress. The largest star among them represents the female ruler. (Original book note: According to the records in Sima Biao's "Continued Book of Han: Astronomical Records," in the first month of the 14th year of Emperor Huan of Han's Yongping era, a guest star appeared in the mansion of Hairy Head and remained there for sixty days before gradually disappearing near the right angle of Xuanyuan. The right angle of Xuanyuan is a position of high status, while the mansion of Hairy Head governs judicial affairs. The presence of a guest star in Hairy Head indicates a large number of legal cases. At that time, the investigation into the case of the Prince of Chu's treason had not yet concluded, and Sima Tu Yu Yan, who had contact with the Prince of Chu Liu Ying's faction, was executed along with them.)

郄萌曰：“有星入軒轅，有遠來者。”郄萌曰：“有星入東陵，有夷從外來降者。”郄萌曰：“客星入軒轅，有女子惑天子者。”《荊州占》曰：“客星入軒轅，美人有經死者。”焦延壽曰：“青黑星出入軒轅，皆為諸夫人有子不成。”司馬彪《天文志》曰：“客星出軒轅，後宮失勢。”

Xie Meng said: If a star enters Xuanyan, there will be people coming from afar. Xie Meng said: If a star enters the 'Dongling' near Xuanyan, there will be foreign tribes coming from outside to submit. Xie Meng said: A guest star entering Xuanyan indicates a woman deceiving the emperor. The "Jingzhou Divination" says: A guest star entering Xuanyan indicates that the palace beauties will commit suicide. Jiao Yanshou said: A star of blue-black color appearing and disappearing in Xuanyan indicates that the children born to the various concubines will not live long. Sima Biao's "Continued Book of Han: Records of the Celestial Phenomena" says: If a guest star appears in Xuanyan, the concubines in the harem will lose their favor and power. Since the great star of Xuanyan is the position of the female ruler, all these divination statements pertain to the emperor's concubines and their sons.

郄萌曰：“客星舍軒轅之旁，美人有懸死者。”《荊州占》曰：“客星守軒轅，獄中有女子飲藥死者。”郄萌曰：“客星守軒轅，女主不安；一曰：有憂。”《洛書甄曜度》曰：“客星出軒轅，若守之，各隨其所守后妃嬪夫人近者當之；一曰：守之三日，美人有經者。”

Xie Meng said: A guest star stays near Xuanyuan, and among the beauties there is someone who dies by hanging. The "Jingzhou Divination" says: When a guest star stays at Xuanyuan, there will be a woman in prison who dies from poisoning. Xie Meng said: When a guest star stays at Xuanyuan, the female ruler will not be at peace; another interpretation says there will be calamity. The "Luoshu Zhenyao Du" says: When a guest star appears at Xuanyuan or stays there, it depends on which star it is guarding; among the empress, concubines,嫔, and ladies, the one corresponding to that star will suffer the disaster; another interpretation says that if the guest star stays for three days, there will be a beauty in the palace who commits suicide by hanging.

Xuan Yuan governs the harem, so the appearance of a guest star there is a sign of losing power. In the following year, the fourteenth year of Yongyuan, on the Xinmao day in June, the Empress Dowager Yin was deposed.) The Shi school said: If a guest star appears in Xuan Yuan or if it confronts or stays there, five generals should be mobilized. The Shi school said: Other abnormal stars that stop in Xuan Yuan indicate that the one corresponding to the position of the guest star will have troubles. Qi Bo said: If a guest star confronts and stays in the main star of Xuan Yuan, the female ruler will rebel against the emperor, or the female ruler will have private relations with someone else, and precautions should be taken.

石氏曰：“客星干犯少微，白衣聚者凶，術士不顯，智者逃亡，期三年。”郄萌曰：“有星入少微，奸臣亂。”石氏曰：“客星出少微，道術士用，用功者隨其能，王者用之。”

The Shi school says: A guest star conflicting with the 'Lesser Weir' indicates that groups of unappointed commoners will suffer misfortune, and those skilled in esoteric arts will not achieve prominence, while the wise will flee. The fulfillment of this omen will occur within three years. The 'Lesser Weir' consists of four stars located in the southwest of the Taiwei constellation, representing the positions of scholars and officials, also known as the 'Hermit Star,' overseeing virtuous men and esoteric practitioners outside officialdom. Xie Meng says: If a star enters the Lesser Weir, corrupt ministers will cause disturbances. The Shi school says: The appearance of a guest star in the Lesser Weir signifies that those who understand the Way will be appointed, and those with merit will be given positions according to their abilities, and the king will employ them.

郄萌曰：“客星守少微，處士憂。”《黃帝占》曰：“客星入中犯乘守少微，宰相易。又曰：女主有憂。”石氏曰：“客星入中犯乘守少微，五官亂，宰相有憂。”

Xie Meng said: A guest star stopping at Xiaowei indicates that recluses who refuse official posts will have worries. The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: If a guest star passes through, attacks, overshadows, or stops at Xiaowei, the prime minister will be replaced; it also says that a female ruler will have worries. The Shi school says: If a guest star passes through, attacks, overshadows, or stops at Xiaowei, the officials of the five ministries will be disordered, and the prime minister will have worries.

郄萌曰：“客星中犯左右執法，左右執法誅，若有罪。”《黃帝占》曰：“客星入端門，出西門，天下大水，民人飢。”石氏曰：“客星入端門，其國有臣謀。”石氏曰：“客星入端門，出東門，天下大旱，五穀不成。”甘氏曰：“客星入端門，仍出端門，其國有大患，天下大亂，易主，以色占；出左掖門，其國有憂；出東門，其國旱；出左掖門，其國大亂；出西門，其國大水。”

Xie Meng said: A guest star entering and conflicting with the two stars of 'Left Judicial Officer' and 'Right Judicial Officer' indicates that the officials in charge of law and punishment, the Left and Right Judicial Officers, will be executed or punished. 'Taiwei' is the southern palace court of the Son of Heaven. Facing south, the central position is 'Duanmen', with the Left and Right Yemen gates on both sides, each side having its own gate. The Left and Right Judicial Officers are located within the Duanmen. The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: If a guest star enters from the Duanmen and exits from the western gate, the country will suffer great floods and the people will face starvation. The Shi school says: If a guest star enters from the Duanmen, the country's territory will have ministers secretly plotting against the ruler. The Shi school also says: If a guest star enters from the Duanmen and exits from the eastern gate, the country will experience a severe drought, and the five grains will not grow. The Gan school says: If a guest star enters from the Duanmen and exits from the Duanmen, the country will face great calamity, the country will experience great chaos, and the ruler will be replaced. The specific fortune or misfortune should be determined by the color of the star. If it exits from the Left Yemen gate, the country will face worries. If it exits from the eastern gate, the country will suffer drought. If it exits from the Left Yemen gate, the country will experience great chaos. If it exits from the western gate, the country will suffer great floods.

郄萌曰：“有星入端門，賊鈔主，稱王命。”石氏曰：“客星入左掖門，出右掖門，其國有喪。”石氏曰：“客星入右掖門，其國有客。”石氏曰：“客星入左右門。出東西門。國有大喪。貴臣有死者。”甘氏曰：“客星入太微右掖門。出端門。小國亡；出左掖門。其國有小事；出東門，其國大亡；仍出右掖門，其國有客為刑事；出西門，大國以微亡。”

Xie Meng said: If a star enters the end gate, there will be bandits robbing the ruler, and they will pretend to act under the king's orders. The Shi school said: If a guest star enters from the left gate and exits from the right gate, the country will have mourning. The Shi school said: If a guest star enters from the right gate, the country will have foreign guests. The Shi school said: If a guest star enters from both left and right gates and exits from both east and west gates, there will be a great mourning in the country, and a high-ranking official will die. The Gan school said: If a guest star enters from the right gate of Taiwei and exits from the end gate, a small country will be destroyed; if it exits from the left gate, the country will have minor troubles; if it exits from the east gate, the country will be completely destroyed; if it still exits from the right gate, the country will have foreigners involved in legal cases; if it exits from the west gate, a great country will perish due to decline.

《荊州占》曰：“客星入左掖門，出端門，其國滅亡；仍出左掖門，其國大傷；出東門，其國大喪；出右掖門，其國大逆無道；出西門，其國流血百里。”石氏曰：“客星入東西門，出左右掖門，其國有兵，軍有出者，倖臣有憂，皆不出一年。”

The *Jingzhou Divination* says: If the guest star enters from the Left Gate and exits from the End Gate, the country will perish; if it enters from the Left Gate and exits from the Left Gate again, the country will suffer great damage; if it exits from the East Gate, the country will experience a great mourning; if it exits from the Right Gate, the country will have a great act of rebellion; if it exits from the West Gate, the country will have blood flowing for hundreds of li. The Shi school says: If the guest star enters from the East Gate or the West Gate and exits from the Left or Right Gates, the country will have military affairs, the army will be mobilized for campaigns, and the favored ministers of the ruler will suffer misfortune. All these events will be fulfilled within one year.

甘氏曰：“客星入東門，出端門，其國有憂；出左掖門，其國所作不成；仍出東門，其國有臣結謀；出右掖門，其國大亡；出西門，其國有殃。”《荊州占》曰：“客星入東門，出東門，其國有大喪。”《黃帝占》曰：“客星入西門，出東門，其邦兵起，臣謀主；入東門，出西門，大國微亡；守之不去，楚國凶殃。”

The Gan school says: If the guest star enters from the eastern gate and exits from the end gate, the country will have calamities; if it exits from the left wing gate, the country's affairs will not be completed; if it exits from the eastern gate again, the country will have ministers forming factions and plotting; if it exits from the right wing gate, the country will suffer a great downfall; if it exits from the western gate, the country will face misfortune. The "Jingzhou Divination" says: If the guest star enters from the eastern gate and exits from the eastern gate again, the country will suffer a great mourning. The "Yellow Emperor's Divination" says: If the guest star enters from the western gate and exits from the eastern gate, the state will experience military conflicts and ministers plotting against the sovereign; if it enters from the eastern gate and exits from the western gate, the great state will decline and perish; if it remains without departing, the state of Chu will face calamity.

甘氏曰：“客星入西門，出端門，其國大亂；出左掖門，其國不為用；出東門，其國不祥；出右掖門，其國大敗；仍出西門，其國有兵。”郄萌曰：“客星入西門，出端門，（一書云：出左掖門。）其國大不熟。”郄萌曰：“客星入太微西門，出東門，有憂喪。”

The Gan school says: If the guest star enters from the western gate and exits from the end gate, the country will experience great disorder; if it exits from the left wing gate, the country will be unable to enforce its commands; if it exits from the eastern gate, the country will suffer ominous events; if it exits from the right wing gate, the country will suffer a great defeat; if it exits from the western gate again, the country will face military conflicts. Xie Meng says: If the guest star enters from the western gate and exits from the end gate (note: another version says 'exits from the left wing gate'), the country will have a great harvest of crops. Xie Meng also says: If the guest star enters from the western gate of Taiwei and exits from the eastern gate, there will be calamities and losses.

郄萌曰：“他星入太陰門，後宮有賊。”《荊州占》曰：“客星入太陰西門，出太陰東門，其國大水，天下大亂。”《荊州占》曰：“他星入太陰門，兵起動天下。”《荊州占》曰：“客星入西門，出西門，其國有兵謀。”陳卓曰：“客星入干太微，帝宗后族為亂，亡社稷。”

Xie Meng said: Other abnormal stars entering the "Tai Yin gate" indicate turmoil and harm within the harem. The Tai Yin gate is the阴 side of the Tai Wei垣, so its divination is specifically related to the harem. The "Jingzhou Divination" states: If a guest star enters from the western gate of Tai Yin and exits from the eastern gate, the country will suffer great floods and widespread chaos. The "Jingzhou Divination" also states: If other abnormal stars enter the Tai Yin gate, military conflicts will arise and shake the world. The "Jingzhou Divination" further states: If a guest star enters from the western gate and exits from the western gate again, the country will have military plots. Chen Zhuo said: If a guest star invades and collides with Tai Wei, the imperial family and the maternal relatives of the empress will rebel, leading to the collapse of the state.

《河圖帝覽嬉》曰：“客星入太微廷中，出端門，天下大亂，王者憂，國易政，期三年。”（按何法盛《中興書》曰：晉安帝元興元年十月，有客星也白如粉絮，出太微垣西，至十二月，入太微，占曰：兵入天子庭。二年十二月，桓玄肆逆，放帝后於尋陽。）

By the twelfth month, it entered the Taiwei constellation. The divination text says: This is an omen of troops entering the court of the Son of Heaven. In the twelfth month of the second year of Yuanxing, Huan Xuan openly rebelled, banishing Emperor An and the empress to Xinyang.)

石氏曰：“他星入太微，色白而澤者，赦。”石氏曰：“客星入太微宮，二旬若三旬，有小赦，期六月。”石氏曰：“他星入四輔，臣為亂。”《海中占》曰：“客星入太微中，火大起，有客賊來入國，守之十日不去，其災成。在陽為男主，在陰為女主，不出四十日。”

The Shi school says: If other variable stars enter the Taiwei palace, and the star appears white and moist, it indicates there will be an amnesty. The Shi school says: If a guest star enters the Taiwei palace and stays for twenty or thirty days, there will be a minor amnesty, lasting for six months. The Shi school says: If other variable stars enter the 'Four Ministers,' the ministers assisting the sovereign will rebel. The Hai Zhong Zhan says: If a guest star enters the Taiwei palace and a great fire erupts, there will be foreign bandits invading the country; if the star remains for ten days without leaving, the disaster will be confirmed. If the guest star is on the yang side, it indicates a male ruler will be affected; if on the yin side, it indicates a female ruler will be affected. The outcome will be clear within forty days.

郄萌曰：“赤黃星狀如帚入太微，婦女喜；出太微，天子賜諸侯美女。”郄萌曰：“客星入天子宮，丞相憂疾。”郄萌曰：“客星入天子宮十日，而成鉤已，天下有大赦，奴婢下賤人妻妾長庸，期三月，若六月。”

Xie Meng said: A star of red and yellow color, shaped like a broom, entering the Taiwei region indicates that women will have joyful events; if such a star leaves the Taiwei region, the Son of Heaven will reward beautiful women to the feudal lords. Xie Meng said: A guest star entering the Son of Heaven's palace indicates that the chancellor will be troubled and fall ill. Xie Meng said: If a guest star enters the Son of Heaven's palace and remains for ten days, with a curved path resembling a hook, the whole country will have a great amnesty. Servants, lowly people, concubines, and long-term hired laborers will all be exempted, the duration being three months or six months.

《荊州占》曰：“客星入太微宮中一旬，宮中有自煞者，期四十日。在陽為男，在陰為女。陽，黃座南也；陰，黃座北也。入二旬，有救，期六月。”《荊州占》曰：“青星入太微，有客來。”《荊州占》曰：“星正赤，入太微中，兵起。”陳卓曰：“星正赤，入太微中，廟有兵。”

If the guest star is on the yang side, it indicates a man; if on the yin side, it indicates a woman. The yang side refers to south of the Yellow Emperor's seat, and the yin side refers to north of the Yellow Emperor's seat. If it stays for twenty days, there is still a chance for reversal and salvation, with a period of six months. The *Jingzhou Divination* says: A green star entering Taiwei indicates the arrival of guests. The *Jingzhou Divination* says: A star of pure red color entering Taiwei indicates military actions. Chen Zhuo says: A star of pure red color entering Taiwei indicates military calamity in the ancestral temple area.

《荊州占》曰：“赤黃星潤澤入太微中，天子有喜，以其所抵率言抵座星也，如劍者，男子喜。”《荊州占》曰：“客星入太微庭中，有一星，天子出將兵；有二星，天下無處主；有三星，天下散亡。”《荊州占》曰：“客星入太微，所中乘守者有殃。”

The *Jingzhou Divination* says: A star that is red-yellow and moist enters the Taimei, indicating the emperor will have joyous events; observe which position it confronts to determine the outcome, generally meaning it confronts the Dizuo star; if the star resembles a sword, it signifies joy for males. The *Jingzhou Divination* says: A guest star enters the courtyard of Taimei; if there is only one, the emperor will personally lead his troops to campaign; if there are two, there will be no stable ruler in the world; if there are three, the world will scatter and perish. The *Jingzhou Divination* says: A guest star enters Taimei, and the person ruled by the star that is pierced, overpowers, or stays in place will suffer misfortune.

《玄冥占》曰：“客星入太微庭中，帝宗后族為亂，欲謀殺主，宮門有伏兵，期三月。”《天官書》曰：“客星出天庭，有奇令。”《荊州占》曰：“赤星出庭中，有立王，若徙王；又曰：火起。”《荊州占》曰：“赤黃星出太微中，天子用金錢賜諸侯王。”

The Xuanming Divination says: A guest star entering the courtyard of Taiwei indicates that the emperor's relatives and the maternal relatives of the empress will rebel, intending to kill the sovereign, with troops stationed both inside and outside the palace gates, and the time limit is three months. The Records of the Grand Historian, Tian Gao Book says: A guest star appearing in the heavenly court will bring about extraordinary decrees. Taiwei is originally the court of the Son of Heaven, so it is also called the heavenly court. The Jingzhou Divination says: A red star appearing in the courtyard indicates the establishment of a new king or the relocation and change of a king; it also says there will be a fire. The Jingzhou Divination also says: A red-yellow star emerging from Taiwei indicates that the Son of Heaven will reward the feudal princes with money.

《荊州占》曰：“星黃如獸，出太微中，天子用畜賜諸侯王；一曰：氣類獸及蜚，皆客喜也。”《荊州占》曰：“有星如拳正圓，出太微中，天子用壁玉賜諸侯王。”陳卓曰：“客星出太微，有兵喪。”

The *Jingzhou Divination* says: If a star appears yellow in color and resembles a moving animal, emerging from the Taiwei region, the emperor should reward the feudal princes with livestock; another interpretation says if the shape of the cloud is like a moving animal or flying insect, it indicates the arrival of guests and joyful events. The *Jingzhou Divination* also says: If a star appears as large as a fist, round in shape, emerging from the Taiwei region, the emperor should reward the feudal princes with jade discs. Chen Zhuo says: If a guest star emerges from the Taiwei region, there will be military affairs and mourning events.

According to the records in the "Astronomical Records" section of the "Book of Song," on the 14th day of the ninth month in the third year of Huangchu of the Wei Wen Emperor, a guest star appeared within the left gate of Taimei. By the tenth month, Sun Quan defied the imperial command, and the Wei Wen Emperor personally led a southern campaign, with the vanguard advancing to the Yangtze River, defeating Sun Quan's generals such as Lü Fan. There were subsequent military campaigns. Seven years later, in the fifth month of the seventh year of Huangchu, the Wei Wen Emperor died. On the 10th day of the tenth month in the fourth year of Ganlu, a guest star again appeared in Taimei, moving towards the southeast, passing through the Chariot Mansion, and disappearing after seven days. By the first year of Jingyuan, the high prince Cao Mao was killed.

《黃帝占》曰：“凡客星出入太微，各以其日，占知州國，所出皆不出百日，中一年，遠三年，災必應。”《黃帝占》曰：“客星出入太微，人主有憂，大臣為謀，有反者，兵起宮中；一曰：執政臣有戮者，期一年。”

The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: Whenever a guest star appears or disappears in the Taiwei region, one should use the stem-branch of the day it appears to determine which state or country it corresponds to; the fulfillment of its indication will occur within a hundred days if it is near, within a year if it is moderate, and within three years if it is distant, and the calamity will certainly come to pass. The Yellow Emperor's Divination also says: When a guest star appears or disappears in the Taiwei region, the sovereign will have worries, ministers will conspire secretly, someone will rebel, and a military disturbance will arise within the palace; another interpretation suggests that a high-ranking official will be killed, with the time limit being one year.

《海中占》曰：“客星入太微，天下大亂，兵大起，臣謀其主，不則天下大水，入城郭，煞人民。”（郄萌曰：期三十日。）《荊州占》曰：“客星出入太微，大水入城，傷人民，期三十日。”《荊州占》曰：“客星舍太微宮，天下有聖女子，在燕代。”

The Sea Divination says: When a guest star enters the Taimei constellation, the whole country will be in great disorder, large-scale warfare will break out, and ministers will plot against their sovereigns; otherwise, there will be a great flood, water overflowing into the city walls, drowning the people. (Original commentary: Xie Meng says the duration is thirty days.) The Jingzhou Divination says: When a guest star appears and disappears in the Taimei constellation, great floods will flood the city, harming the people, with a duration of thirty days. The Jingzhou Divination also says: When a guest star stays and resides in the Taimei palace, there will be a woman with extraordinary talents, who should appear in the Yan and Dai regions.

《荊州占》曰：“客星舍太微南蕃，留不去，魯有謀者；舍西蕃，留不去，王者洩妖言在楚國。”郄萌曰：“客星中太微宮者，不出三十日，（一本云：三日也。）必有大赦。”《黃帝占》曰：“客星守太微東蕃，若西蕃將相星者，皆為人君有憂。”

The *Jingzhou Divination* says: If the guest star stays in the southern enclosure of Taimei, lingering without moving, there will be someone in Lu plotting rebellion; if it stays in the western enclosure, lingering without moving, there will be false and reckless words leaking out from the king's side, which should be in Chu. Xie Meng says: If the guest star enters the Taimei palace, it will certainly result in a great amnesty within thirty days (note: another version says 'three days'). The *Yellow Emperor's Divination* says: If the guest star stays in the eastern enclosure of Taimei, or stays on the general star or minister star in the western enclosure, it indicates the ruler will have troubles.

石氏曰：“客星守太微宮，臣煞主。”《玉曆》曰：“客星出太微，犯守將相，左右執法，隨其所守犯，皆有誅，期二年。”甘氏曰：“太微中有一客星，天子自將兵；有二客星，天下亂，民散走；有三客星，天下大亂，守之三十日，君死國亡，期三年，遠五年。”

The Shi school says: A guest star stopping in the Taimei palace indicates a minister killing the sovereign. The Jade Calendar says: If a guest star appears in Taimei and confronts and stops at the General Star, the Minister Star, and the Left and Right Legal Stars, then according to which star it stops, that official will be executed. The time limit is two years. The Gan school says: If one guest star appears in Taimei, the Son of Heaven will personally lead the army; if two guest stars appear, the country will be in turmoil and the people will scatter; if three guest stars appear, the country will be in great chaos. If the guest star stays for thirty days, the sovereign will die and the state will perish. The time limit is three years, but possibly up to five years.

《文曜鉤》曰：“客星入太微，犯黃帝座，天子有憂，臣謀主；至座而還，謀不成，反受其殃；守犯三十日已上，臣謀成，期不出一年。”《荊州占》曰：“客星舍五帝座，有聖人與君並治，在蜀秦。”石氏曰：“蒼白星抵座，天子有喪憂；抵座旁，臣有反之者。”

The Wenyao Gou says: A guest star entering the Taimei constellation, conflicting with the "Yellow Emperor's Seat," indicates the emperor will have worries and troubles, and ministers will plot against the sovereign. If the guest star reaches the Emperor's Seat and then retreats, the conspiracy will fail, and the person who plotted will suffer the consequences. If the conflict and stay lasts more than thirty days, the ministers' plot will succeed, and the omen will be fulfilled within a year. The Yellow Emperor's Seat is located at the center of the Taimei constellation, representing the position of the emperor. The Jingzhou Zhuan says: A guest star residing in the Five Emperors' Seat indicates there will be a remarkable person sharing power with the sovereign, and this should occur in the regions of Shu and Qin. The Shi school says: A star of green and white color reaching the Emperor's Seat indicates the emperor will have mourning and worries; if it reaches near the Emperor's Seat, there will be rebellion among the ministers.

(Original book note: According to the records in "You Ming Lu," Emperor Wu of Han dressed in plain clothes and went out for a journey, staying at a household. This household had a servant girl with extraordinary beauty, whom Emperor Wu greatly liked, so he stayed overnight and slept with her. At that time, there was also a scholar who stayed at the same house, who was skilled in astronomy. Suddenly he saw a guest star move towards the imperial seat, approaching very closely. The scholar was greatly alarmed and kept shouting "du du," his voice becoming quite loud. Soon after, he saw a man carrying a knife about to enter the room, hearing the scholar's urgent shouts, he thought the matter had been exposed, and thus retreated and ran away. The guest star also disappeared at the same time. Emperor Wu heard the strange sound and summoned the scholar to ask about it. The scholar explained the celestial phenomena he had seen. Emperor Wu then realized that the man was the servant girl's husband, who intended to attack him. He immediately summoned the Yu Lin guards and told the host: "I am the Son of Heaven." At once, he captured the servant and executed him, while also generously rewarding the scholar.

《後漢書》曰：嚴遵，字子陵，會稽餘姚人。世祖為書生時，與遵遊學，及即位，見遵，遵長揖不拜，上留遵俱寢，遵以足加世祖，其夜客星犯天子宿，明晨，太史奏其異，詔曰：朕友人嚴遵與朕具臥之耳。）

Again, referring to the records in the "Later Han Book": Yan Zun, style name Zilin, was from Yuyao County, Huiji Prefecture. When Guangwu Emperor was still a scholar, he had studied together with Yan Zun; when Guangwu Emperor became emperor, he summoned Yan Zun, but Yan Zun only gave a respectful nod without bowing. The emperor allowed Yan Zun to sleep on the same bed, and Yan Zun placed his foot on the emperor's body. That night, a guest star invaded the star mansion of the emperor. The next morning, the historian reported this strange phenomenon, and the emperor issued an edict saying: That is merely my old friend Yan Zun sleeping on the same bed with me. All of this is cited from the notes in the original text.

石氏曰：“有赤星，銳如劍，抵座星，天子以兵驚；一曰災驚。”《荊州占》曰：“黑星抵座左右，旁大臣有死者。”《荊州占》曰：“黃白星大如拳正圓，抵座旁者，臣有獻美人者。”郄萌曰：“黑星抵留座星者，曰天子惡之。”

The Shi school says: if a red star with sharp edges like a sword reaches the Emperor's Seat star, the emperor will be startled by military calamity; another interpretation says he will be startled by a disaster. The "Jingzhou Divination" says: if a black star reaches the Emperor's Seat or its vicinity, there will be a minister who dies among the stars near the Emperor's Seat. The "Jingzhou Divination" also says: if a yellow-white star, as big as a fist and round in shape, reaches near the Emperor's Seat, there will be a minister who presents a beautiful woman. Xie Meng says: if a black star reaches the Emperor's Seat and stays there, this is called the emperor detesting it, indicating the ruler will face suspicion.

巫咸曰：“客星犯四帝，輔臣有亂，若有反；一曰：若左右輔臣有謀，期百八十日。”

Wu Xian said: A guest star is conflicting with the Four Emperors, indicating that there will be disorder among the ministers assisting in governance, or someone may rebel. Another interpretation suggests that the ministers close to the ruler, who are entrusted with assisting him, are secretly plotting something, and the fulfillment of this omen will occur within 180 days. The Four Emperors refer to the four seats surrounding the Yellow Emperor's throne in the Taiwei垣, corresponding to the positions of the ministers. Therefore, the change will manifest among the ministers closest to the ruler.

石氏曰：“客星有中犯乘守屏星者，為君臣失禮而輔臣有誅者，若免罷去。”

The Shi school says: If a guest star passes through, collides with, overpowers, or remains stationed at the 'Screen Star', it indicates that there is a loss of propriety between the sovereign and ministers, leading to the punishment or dismissal of the ministers who support the ruler. The Screen Star is located within the end gate of the Taimei Enclosure, originally serving as a barrier to block the view of the Imperial Seat and separate the inner and outer courts. Therefore, any change in the Screen Star will manifest in the relationship and propriety between the sovereign and ministers.

陳卓曰：“客星干犯郎位，大臣失勢。”《黃帝占》曰：“客星入郎位，大臣為亂。”石氏曰：“客星入郎位，多死者。”《荊州占》曰：“赤星入郎位，兵起，若大憂；出郎位，多用兵遠出者。”

Chen Zhuo said: A guest star conflicting with the position of the officials indicates that ministers lose their power. The position of the officials consists of fifteen stars located to the northeast of the Taimei Emperor's seat, which is the position occupied by the officials responsible for guarding and attending the emperor. The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: When a guest star enters the position of the officials, ministers rebel. The Shi school says: When a guest star enters the position of the officials, many people will die. The Jingzhou Divination says: When a red star enters the position of the officials, military affairs will arise, or there will be great worries; if the star leaves the position of the officials, there will be many soldiers who are far away on military campaigns.

《荊州占》曰：“黑星入郎位，多有罪者。”《荊州占》曰：“蒼白星入郎位，有亂者。”《荊州占》曰：“蒼白黑星出郎位，多死者。”《玉曆》曰：“客星出郎位，守衛臣有謀者，人主有憂，將相有誅者；一曰：外夷有反者，期二年。“

The *Jingzhou Divination* says: When a black star enters the position of the official in charge of the court, many people will be punished. The *Jingzhou Divination* says: When a star of blue and white color enters the position of the official in charge of the court, there will be rebellion. The *Jingzhou Divination* says: When stars of blue and white and black colors leave the position of the official in charge of the court, many people will die. The *Yuli* says: When a guest star appears in the position of the official in charge of the court, there will be conspiracies among the palace guards, the monarch will face troubles, and ministers will be executed; another interpretation says that there will be rebellion by foreign tribes, and the fulfillment of this omen will occur within two years.

《荊州占》曰：“客星入中郎位，大臣為亂，戒左右。”《黃帝占》曰：“客星守郎位，元士有憂；又曰：名官位，不死必去。”《荊州占》曰：“客星守郎位，其將憂也。”

The book Jingzhou Zhuan says: A guest star entering the position of Lang, ministers will rebel, and the sovereign should be cautious of those around him. The book Huangdi Zhuan says: A guest star remaining in the position of Lang, the lower officials in the position of Yuanshi will have worries; it also says that those in prominent positions will not die but must resign. The book Jingzhou Zhuan also says: A guest star remaining in the position of Lang, the general in charge of these Lang officials will have worries.
