The Shi school says: When the planet Venus stops at the star Ji Shi, its verification will be upon a high-ranking person. The star Ji Shi is located within the constellation Ghost Mansion, appearing as a cloud-like formation when observed, and it presages death and matters of worship.

《黃帝》曰：“太白入天潢中，天下大亂，易政；一曰貴人死；又曰兵起，軍起，道不通。”郗萌曰：“太白失度，留天潢，為人主憂，以水為害；若以井為害，以入日占其國。”

The Yellow Emperor says: When the planet Venus enters the region of Tian Huang, it indicates great chaos throughout the world, and a change of government; another interpretation is the death of a nobleman; yet another is the outbreak of military conflicts, the mobilization of troops, and the disruption of roads. Xi Meng says: When the planet Venus moves irregularly and remains in Tian Huang, it signifies that the sovereign will have worries and water-related disasters; or it may bring calamity from wells and springs, and one can determine which country it will affect by referring to the day branch on which it enters. The five stars in Tian Huang, located within the Five Carriages, indicate bridges and ferry crossings.

《黃帝》曰：“太白入咸池中犯乘守之，在喪。”《春秋緯》曰：“太白入咸池，天下亂，易政，人君惡之。”石氏曰：“君死，皆以入日占其國。”甘氏曰：“太白入咸池，有兵喪，天子且以大敗失忠臣；若旱；一曰大水，道不通；貴人死，以入日占國。”石氏曰：“太白入天井，大臣為亂，國家易政令。”郗萌曰：“太白入咸池中，犯乘守之，若糴貴；一曰為有迷惑人主者。”《荊州占》曰：“太白中犯乘守咸池，大兵起，百萬人以上。”

The Yellow Emperor says: When the planet Venus enters Xianchi, it invades, dominates, and stays there, indicating there will be mourning. The Spring Annals Commentary says: When Venus enters Xianchi, it signifies great turmoil throughout the land, a change of government, and the monarch's dislike. The Shi school says: This indicates the death of the monarch, and the country where the event occurs is determined by the day branch on which Venus enters. The Gan school says: When Venus enters Xianchi, it signifies military calamity and mourning, and the Son of Heaven will lose a loyal minister due to a great defeat; or there will be a drought; another interpretation is a great flood, making roads impassable; noble deaths occur, and the country where the event occurs is determined by the day branch on which Venus enters. The Shi school also says: When Venus enters Tianjing, it indicates rebellion by ministers and a change in state policies—Tianjing is also located among the Five Carriages, and it shares the same ruling over water-related affairs as Xianchi. Xi Meng says: When Venus enters Xianchi, it invades, dominates, and stays there, or it may cause high grain prices; another interpretation is that someone deceives the monarch. The Jingzhou Divination says: When Venus shoots at, invades, dominates, and stays in Xianchi, it indicates a large-scale military campaign involving more than a million troops. The three stars of Xianchi, located among the Five Carriages and to the south of Tianhang, indicate benefits from fish ponds, lakes, and water sources.

郗萌曰：“太白當天街，為諸侯自立為主；一曰大水，若留止逆行其中，為兵革起。”《荊州占》曰：“太白守天街，兵塞道。”《文曜鉤》曰：“太白犯守天街，徘徊亂行，主弱臣強，道路絕，天下不通。”《荊州占》曰：“太白不行天街，為政令不行，不出其年，有兵。”

Xi Meng said: The planet Venus is directly facing Tianjie, indicating that the feudal lords will establish themselves as kings; another interpretation is a great flood; if Venus remains or moves retrograde within it, it signifies the outbreak of military conflicts. The "Jingzhou Divination" states: When Venus stops at Tianjie, it indicates a large number of soldiers blocking the roads. The "Wenyao Gou" states: When Venus offends and stops at Tianjie, moving back and forth, with erratic movement, it indicates a weak ruler and strong ministers, roads being cut off, and the whole world unable to pass through. The "Jingzhou Divination" also states: If Venus does not follow the path of Tianjie, it indicates that government orders are blocked and cannot be implemented, the prophecy will not be fulfilled in the same year, and there will be military affairs. The two stars of Tianjie are located between Bi and Mao, marking the boundary between China and the Hu lands.

石氏曰：“太白守狗星，守衛之臣作亂。”

The Shi school says: When the planet Venus stops at the star of the dog, it indicates that a minister responsible for guarding will rebel. The two dog stars located before the southern dipper signify the ability of a dog to bark and guard the gate, showing a high level of vigilance.

《荊州占》曰：“太白順行守狗國，出兵討鮮卑，烏丸；逆守之，其國為亂。”

The *Jingzhou Divination* says: If the planet Venus moves forward and stops in the dog country, it indicates that the Central Plains will send troops to attack the Xianbei and Wuhuan; if it moves backward and stops there, it signifies that the tribes of those countries will rebel themselves. The four stars of the dog country are located to the southeast of the Jian star, corresponding to the northeastern tribes of Xianbei, Wuhuan, and Wozu.

郗萌曰：“太白提天田。出入大水；一曰五穀霜死。”

Xi Meng said: The planet Venus approaching Tian Tian indicates floods that are unpredictable and cause great damage; another interpretation is that the five grains are frozen by frost and wither. This Tian Tian star group consists of nine stars located to the south of Niu Xu, governing fields outside the capital region. It shares the same name as the Tian Tian stars in the middle official constellation's Jiao Bei, but is in a different position.

《宋書天文志》曰：“晉孝武太元四年十一月，太白犯哭星，占曰：天子有哭泣事。九月癸未，皇后王氏崩。孝武大明三年十月，太白犯哭泣，後六宮多喪，公主薨，天子舉哀；歲大旱，民飢。”

The "Book of the Later Han · Astronomical Records" states: In the fourth year of Taoyuan during the reign of Emperor Xiaowu of Jin, in November, the planet Venus approached the star of mourning, and the divination text said that the emperor would have a mourning event; by the ninth month on the day of Guiwei, Empress Wang died. In the third year of Daming during the reign of Emperor Xiaowu of Song, in October, the planet Venus approached the stars of mourning and weeping, and afterwards, the six palaces experienced successive funerals, with princesses dying, and the emperor personally mourned. That year also coincided with a severe drought, causing hardship among the people. The stars of mourning and weeping, along with the star of emptiness mansion, were located to the south of the mansion of emptiness, indicating deaths and mourning.

《荊州占》曰：“太白守八魁，兵大起。”

The *Jingzhou Divination* says: When the planet Venus stops at the Eight Horses, it indicates a major military campaign. The Eight Horses and Nine Stars are located south of Tianyuan, which is the place of nets and traps for capturing animals. Therefore, it is appropriate to implement hunting prohibitions, hence there will be warfare.

《荊州占》曰：“太白犯鈇鑕五日以上，臣有謀主者。太白犯鈇鑕，誅執法之官。”郗萌曰：“太白犯乘鈇鑕，為鈇鑕用；一曰將有憂。”

The *Jingzhou Divination* says: If the planet Venus transgresses the position of the chopping block for more than five days, it indicates that ministers may plot against the sovereign. If Venus transgresses the chopping block, it signifies that officials in charge of law and punishment will be executed. Xi Meng says: If Venus transgresses and dominates the chopping block, it indicates that the punishment of beheading at the waist will be frequently applied; another interpretation suggests that generals will face worries. The chopping block, composed of the axe and the anvil, are both instruments of execution, located to the north of the grave.

《黃帝》曰：“太白入芻藁中，主寶出；憂臣在內。”

The Yellow Emperor said: When the planet Venus enters the region of the six stars of straw and fodder, it indicates that the ruler's treasures will scatter abroad; calamity will arise among the ministers within the court. The six stars of straw and fodder are located west of Tianyuan, representing the green grass and dry straw used for feeding livestock.
