Shi Shen said: If the East Wall is occupied, there will be a great mourning within the country; another interpretation suggests a great flood; also, it may indicate the outbreak of military conflicts.

郗萌曰：“辰星守東壁，為大人衛守；一曰為天下兵起；又曰秋兵起，亦云有土功事；又曰為多水；一曰歲晚水。”《春秋圖》曰：“辰星入東壁而守之，奸臣有謀。”《玉曆》曰：“逆行守東壁，大水出，橋樑不通，舟船用，民大飢。”

Xi Meng said: The planet of water is stationed at the eastern wall, indicating the nobleman will strengthen the garrison and defense; another interpretation suggests it signifies the outbreak of military conflicts throughout the country; it is also said that military actions will arise in autumn; some say it indicates construction projects; another says there will be much water; yet another says there will be water during the time when the harvest is nearly exhausted. The "Spring and Autumn Diagram" says: When the planet of water enters and remains at the eastern wall, it indicates that wicked ministers are secretly plotting. The "Jade Calendar" says: When the planet of waterretrograde and remains at the eastern wall, it indicates a great flood, bridges being washed away and broken, making communication impossible, and people relying on boats for travel, with widespread famine.

石氏曰：“辰星入奎，有決漏之事，名水有絕。”《海中占》曰：“辰星潤澤出奎；有差令；變色入奎，有為令來者；出奎，有為令出使者。”《春秋圖》曰：“辰星之奎，天下賤人出貴女。”《黃帝占》曰：“辰星守奎，奸臣賊子謀弒其主。”

The sixteen stars of the Legs mansion are the head of the White Tiger in the west, governing canals and water conservancy, as well as military stores and warfare. Shi Shen said: when the water star enters the Legs mansion, there will be incidents involving breaches in embankments, leakage, and rivers that may dry up. The book "Sea Divination" states: when the light of the water star is bright and moist and appears in the Legs mansion, there will be imperial orders sending envoys; if the water star changes color and enters the Legs mansion, there will be people coming from orders; if the water star emerges from the Legs mansion, there will be people going out on official missions. The book "Spring and Autumn Diagram" says: when the water star reaches the Legs mansion, it signifies that humble families will give birth to noble women. The "Yellow Emperor's Divination" states: when the water star guards the Legs mansion, it indicates that wicked ministers and villains will plot to assassinate the sovereign.

《河圖》曰：“有大水之災；又曰大臣下獄。”《聖洽符》曰：“有溝瀆之事於國外。”石氏曰：“外國之王，入御中國；一雲天下多愁；一曰山水潰出。”巫咸曰：“多火災，為旱，萬物不成，有兵災。”郗萌曰：“有水事。”《荊州占》曰：“王者憂之，大人當之。”

All these sources discuss the situation where the planet of water is guarding and affecting the mansion of Kuixiu. The Yellow River Chart says: this indicates a great flood disaster; it also says that ministers will be imprisoned. The Shengqia Fuxi says: this indicates the opening of canals outside the country's borders, which corresponds exactly to the nature of Kuixiu as the master of ditches and channels. Shi Shen says: this indicates foreign kings entering to rule the Central Plains; another interpretation says there will be much sorrow among the people; another says mountain floods will break out. Wu Xian says: this indicates many fires, drought, failure of crops, and military disasters. Xi Meng says: this indicates water disasters. The Jingzhou Divination says: this indicates the king will be troubled by this, and the verification will fall upon the nobleman.

《聖洽符》曰：“辰星之婁，其國任能，賢人當用，良才得達。”甘氏曰：“辰星守婁，若角動，赤黑色，臣有爭祿而起兵者。”巫咸曰：“多火災。”郗萌曰：“為白衣之會；又曰外國之主，入御中國。”《天文志》曰：“辰星守婁，為兵；為匿謀。”

The three stars of theBond mansion are located east of theLegs mansion, governing the management of pastures and sacrifices for worship, as well as gatherings of people and military actions. The "Saintly Harmony Symbol" states: when the water star is at theBond mansion, the country will employ capable people, virtuous individuals will be promoted, and outstanding talents will rise to prominence. Gan De says: if the water star remains at theBond mansion and its rays flicker with a reddish-black color, it indicates that there will be disputes over official positions among ministers, leading to military conflict. Wu Xian says: this portends many fires. Xi Meng says: this signifies gatherings for white-cloth funerals; also, it indicates that a foreign king will enter and rule over the Central Plains. The "Celestial Records" state: when the water star is at theBond mansion, it signifies military affairs and secret plots.

郗萌曰：“有兵兵罷，無兵兵起。”《荊州占》曰：“有兵，犧牲多死。”陳卓曰：“多水災，萬物五穀不成。”《百二十占》曰：“且有水出。”陳卓曰：“犯守婁，刑罰劇急。”《洽書》曰：“逆行守婁，歲有水；若有蝗蟲，犧牲多死，萬物不成。”甘氏曰：“辰星入婁，犯守之，王者刑法急，大臣當誅，必有下獄者。”

Xi Meng said: Originally there was military action, but the military action will now cease; originally there was no military action, but military action will suddenly arise. The "Jingzhou Divination" says: The ruler has military action, and the sacrificial animals used in worship die in large numbers, which corresponds to the sacrifice of the mansion of Lou Xu. Chen Zhuo said: There will be much flooding, and all things and the five grains cannot mature. The "Bai Er Shi Divination" says: There will be a great flood suddenly erupting. Chen Zhuo said: Offending and staying in Lou Xu leads to severe and harsh punishments. The "Qie Shu" says: Reversing and staying in Lou Xu leads to flooding in that year; or there will be a locust plague, and the sacrificial animals used in worship die in large numbers, and all things cannot mature. Gan De said: The planet Water enters Lou Xu, offending and staying within it, leads to the king's harsh and severe punishments, ministers should be executed, and certainly someone will be imprisoned.

郗萌曰：“辰星犯胃，天下谷無實，以飢為憂；一曰為亂。”《春秋圖》曰：“辰星之胃，布帛賤。”《黃帝》曰：“辰星守胃，且有兵令；一曰國主當之。”《黃帝》曰：“有兵國以無義失弊；又曰大飢、失政；一曰有陰兵，夷狄勝中國。”甘氏曰：“辰星守胃，若角動，色赤白，以水兵起，無名而窮；又有立侯王，若旱，五穀不成。”

The three stars of the Grain Mansion are located east of the Bond Mansion, representing the heavenly granaries and storehouses, governing the accumulation of grain. Xi Meng said: if the planet Mercury invades the Grain Mansion, it indicates that the grain will not mature, leading to worries about famine; another interpretation suggests it brings disorder. The Spring and Autumn Diagram says: when Mercury reaches the Grain Mansion, silk and cloth will be cheap. The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: if Mercury guards the Grain Mansion, there will be military orders; another interpretation suggests this will affect the ruler. The Yellow Emperor's Divination also says: it indicates military affairs, with the country suffering defeat due to lack of righteousness; another interpretation suggests great famine and improper governance; another suggests secret military movements, with the barbarians defeating the Central States. Gan De said: if Mercury guards the Grain Mansion and its rays flicker with red and white colors, it indicates military action caused by floods, with the army going out without just cause and ultimately facing hardship; it also indicates someone being appointed as a marquis or king, or drought and unripe crops.

巫咸曰：“辰星守胃，多火災，為旱；萬物不成，有兵。”《海中占》曰：“民人大飢，亂。”《荊州占》曰：“逆行守胃，天下有兵，倉穀空虛。”《雌雄圖三光占》云：“辰星犯胃，母子同死；國立后王，且有急令，國主當之。”陳卓曰：“若犯守胃，國主不寧。”《荊州占》曰：“辰星守胃，穀貴；傷火災。”

Wu Xian said: When the water star is stationed at the Stomach mansion, it indicates many fires and droughts; all things cannot mature, and there will be military conflicts. The "Sea of the Sea Divination" said: It indicates the people suffering from great famine, followed by chaos. The "Jingzhou Divination" said: When the water starretrograde and is stationed at the Stomach mansion, it indicates that there will be wars throughout the country, and the granaries will be empty, which corresponds to the Stomach mansion's function as the granary. The "Diagram of Male and Female Three Lights Divination" said: When the water star invades the Stomach mansion, it indicates the death of mother and child; the country will appoint a queen and a crown prince, and there will be urgent imperial edicts, which will be verified on the ruler. Chen Zhuo said: If the water star invades and is stationed at the Stomach mansion, the ruler will not be at peace. The "Jingzhou Divination" said: When the water star is stationed at the Stomach mansion, grain prices will be high, and it will also suffer from fires.

石氏曰：“辰星犯乘昴，且有亡國，有謀主之變；若行其北，西夷有毒霜早降，歲有疾癘。”《荊州占》曰：“辰星犯乘昴，夷狄之兵起，為民害。”郗萌曰：“辰星乘昴，若出北者；為陰國有憂，若北主死。”郗萌曰：“入昴中，有三丈之水，五穀不成，大飢。”《春秋圖》曰：“辰星之昴，民且從之陵。”

The seven stars of theHairy Head mansion are located east of theStomach mansion, also known as「Mao Tou」, which governs the western barbarians and also matters related to prisons. Shi Shen said: if the planet Water is seen to intrude upon or press upon theHairy Head mansion, there will be a calamity leading to the downfall of a country, and there will be rebellion against the ruler. If this occurs to the north of theHairy Head mansion, it indicates that the land of the western夷人 will have toxic frost falling early, and there will be an epidemic in that year. The「Jingzhou Divination」says: if the planet Water intrudes upon or presses upon theHairy Head mansion, it signifies the outbreak of military conflicts among the夷狄, causing harm to the people. Xi Meng said: if the planet Water intrudes upon or presses upon theHairy Head mansion and appears to the north of it, it indicates that the northern country, which is of yin nature, will have troubles, or the ruler of the northern country will die. Xi Meng also said: if the planet Water enters theHairy Head mansion, it indicates a flood of three zhang in depth, poor harvest of the five grains, and a great famine. The「Chunqiu Tu」says: if the planet Water reaches theHairy Head mansion, it signifies that the people will follow each other to flee to high hills to take refuge.

石氏曰：“辰星留二十日，若六十日守昴，中國開門，有大客；國政大危，易政令；若自來之王。”《黃帝占》曰：“辰星守昴，兵起，破散，民流亡。”《洛書》曰：“大水決溢，為民害，傷五穀。”石氏曰：“夷狄勝中國，若五穀不成，民大飢。”甘氏曰：“守昴，若角動，其謀者在北方，大將之家，外戚之親，以星入日占期。”甘氏曰：“辰星守昴，執法臣誅。”

Shi Shen said: When the water star stays for twenty days or remains for sixty days in the mansion of Hairy Head, it indicates that the central plains will open their gates, and there will be important guests coming from afar; the state affairs will be extremely dangerous, requiring changes in policies; or there will be a king who comes to submit on his own. The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: When the water star guards the mansion of Hairy Head, it indicates the outbreak of military conflicts, the defeat and scattering of armies, and the migration of the people. The Luo Writing says: It indicates great floods breaking their banks and overflowing, causing harm to the people and damaging the five grains. Shi Shen said: It indicates the defeat of the Central Plains by the barbarians, or the failure of the five grains to mature, leading to widespread famine. Gan De said: When the water star guards the mansion of Hairy Head, if the star's rays flicker, then those plotting rebellion are in the north, originating from the families of high generals or from the maternal relatives. The day when the water star enters this mansion can be used to calculate the time of occurrence. Gan De said: When the water star guards the mansion of Hairy Head, it indicates the execution of officials responsible for law and justice, which corresponds to the nature of the mansion being associated with legal matters.

郗萌曰：“天下失綱，有兵；一曰起中野；又曰多水災；又曰守畢昴。東行至天高，復反至五車，為近兵發，有赦。”《感精符》曰：“逆行守昴，有兵，大臣有坐法死者；一曰冤獄，失理。”《荊州占》曰：“逆行守昴環繞，兵起。”郗萌曰：“犯若守昴，為白衣之會。”《雌雄圖三光占》曰：“犯守昴，夷狄之兵起，國失政；一曰有陰兵。”郗萌曰：“中犯乘守昴，為兵北征。”

Xi Meng said: This indicates the loss of order throughout the realm and the occurrence of military affairs; another interpretation suggests that military actions will arise in the outskirts; also, it indicates many water disasters; another interpretation says that if it guards the Bi Xu and Mao Xu, and moves eastward to the Tian Gao star, then turns back to the Wu Che star, there will be military actions nearby, and there will be a great amnesty. The "Gan Jing Fu" says: If it movesretrograde and guards the Mao Xu, there will be military actions, and among the ministers, some will die due to breaking the law; another interpretation suggests there will be wrongful cases and improper judgments. The "Jingzhou Zhan" says: If it movesretrograde and guards the Mao Xu and circles around without leaving, there will be military actions. Xi Meng said: If it offends or guards the Mao Xu, there will be gatherings of white-clothed mourning. The "Ci Xiong Tu San Guang Zhan" says: If it offends or guards the Mao Xu, there will be military actions from the barbarians, and the state's decrees will be improper; another interpretation suggests there will be secret military movements. Xi Meng said: If it offends, presses upon, or guards the Mao Xu from the center, there will be military campaigns to the north.

《黃帝占》曰：“辰星犯畢，出其北，為陰國有憂；出其南，陽國有憂。”郗萌曰：“辰星犯畢，若入之，兵起於外，狄可憂。”《荊州占》曰：“犯乘畢，邊兵起。”巫咸曰：“入畢中，各伺其出日而數之，期二十日為兵發；伺始入處之率，一日期十日，為軍罷。”《海中占》：“入畢中，有兵；一曰歲熟。”郗萌曰：“有憂；一曰其國易主。”

The book "Yellow Emperor's Divination" states: if the planet Jupiter approaches Bi from its northern side, it indicates sorrow for a country of yin nature; if it approaches from the southern side, it indicates sorrow for a country of yang nature. Xi Meng says: if Jupiter approaches Bi or enters it, there will be military actions starting from abroad, and the northern barbarians are worth worrying about. The "Jingzhou Divination" says: if Jupiter approaches and presses upon Bi, there will be military disturbances at the borders. Wu Xian says: if Jupiter enters Bi, calculate the days it takes to emerge, taking twenty days as a period, and military actions will be launched; then, according to the position where it first entered, each day is counted as ten days, and the army will disband. The "Sea Divination" says: if Jupiter enters Bi, there will be military conflict; another interpretation says there will be a bountiful harvest that year. Xi Meng says: there will be troubles; another interpretation says the country corresponding to Bi will change its ruler.

石氏曰：“出畢陽，則旱；出畢陰，則水；為政令不行。”《春秋圖》曰：“辰星之畢，有大赦。”《黃帝占》曰：“辰星守畢，山崩民流。”《聖洽符》曰：“川河大盛，民多死亡。”《春秋圖》曰：“子歸母，天下安寧，若有赦。”巫咸曰：“辰星守畢，邊有以水起兵者。”石氏曰：“山水潰，河大溢，潦大至。”

Shi Shen said: If the water star appears from the yang position of Bi Xu, it indicates drought; if it appears from the yin position, it indicates flooding; it also indicates that government orders cannot be implemented. The "Spring and Autumn Diagram" says: When the water star reaches Bi Xu, there will be a great amnesty. The "Yellow Emperor's Divination" says: When the water star guards Bi Xu, there will be mountain collapses and the people will flee. The "Saintly Harmony Symbol" says: It indicates that the rivers and streams will rise greatly, and many people will die. The "Spring and Autumn Diagram" says: Bi Xu originally governs rain, and when the water star reaches here, it is like a son returning to his mother, mother and son harmonize, so it indicates peace throughout the world or a great amnesty. Wu Xian said: When the water star guards Bi Xu, there will be people at the borders who start warfare due to water disasters. Shi Shen said: It indicates mountain floods breaking out, rivers rising and overflowing, and large amounts of stagnant water flooding in.

甘氏曰：“辰星守畢，民多疾病，死亡。”巫咸曰：“有水災，萬物不成。”郗萌曰：“野人為亂。”陳卓曰：“犯附耳，為兵起；若將相有喪憂也，不則免退。”郗萌曰：“守畢，急謀兵，期八十日；若八月。”

Gan De said: When the water star is stationed at the Net mansion, it indicates that the common people will suffer many diseases and many deaths. Wu Xian said: It indicates water disaster, and all things cannot mature. Xi Meng said: It indicates that people in the countryside will gather together to rebel. Chen Zhuo said: If it offends the adjacent star named Fu Er, it indicates the outbreak of military affairs; or there will be mourning and worries for ministers and generals, or else officials will be dismissed from their posts. Xi Meng said: When the water star is stationed at the Net mansion, it indicates that the court will urgently plan military affairs, with a period of eighty days; or it should occur in the eighth month.

石氏曰：“辰星犯觜，其國兵起，天下動移。”《荊州占》曰：“犯乘觜，憂水兵之災。”郗萌曰：“入觜中，伺其出日而數之，期二十日，兵發；伺始入處之率，一日期十日，軍罷。”石氏曰：“守觜，西方客動，侵地，欲為君王；崇禮以制義，則國安。”

The constellation Zi Xu refers to Zi Xu mansion, consisting of three stars, which are small and clustered together. It represents the mouth of the White Tiger in the west, indicating gathering and concealment. Shi Shen said: if the water star invades Zi Xu mansion, it indicates warfare in the territory associated with that mansion, leading to turmoil and migration throughout the country. The "Jingzhou Divination" states: if the star invades and presses upon Zi Xu mansion, it portends anxiety over water disasters and military calamities. Xi Meng said: if the star enters Zi Xu mansion, one should wait for the day it exits to calculate the period, taking twenty days as the duration, during which military actions will be initiated; further, by calculating the starting position of the entry, each day corresponds to ten days, and the army will disband. Shi Shen also said: guarding Zi Xu mansion indicates that forces from the west will take action, encroaching upon territory and aspiring to establish themselves as kings; if the state upholds propriety and governs with righteousness, the country will remain stable.

甘氏曰：“守觜，子歸母，君臣和同。”巫咸曰：“為萬物不成；一曰旱，五穀不成，大人憂；又曰不出百日，天下大飢。”巫咸曰：“多火災。”《海中占》曰：“守觜中，有兵。”郗萌曰：“守觜，萬物五穀不成；一曰天子不可動眾行兵；又曰有反臣，不出百日，天下水，趙國尤其。”

Gan De said: When the star cluster Zi Xu is occupied, it is like a son returning to his mother's side, with mother and son in harmony, so it indicates the sovereign and ministers being in harmony and united in purpose. Wu Xian said: It indicates that all things cannot mature; one interpretation says it indicates drought and the five grains not ripening, with the nobleman experiencing worry; also, it cannot last for a hundred days, and the whole world will be in great famine. Wu Xian also said: It indicates frequent fires. The "Sea Divination" said: When the star cluster Zi Xu is occupied, it indicates military affairs. Xi Meng said: When the star cluster Zi Xu is occupied, it indicates that all things and the five grains cannot mature; one interpretation says the Son of Heaven cannot mobilize the people for military action; another says there will be a rebellious minister, not exceeding a hundred days, and the whole world will suffer a great flood, especially severe in the region of Zhao, which is the territory corresponding to the Zi Xu star cluster.

甘氏曰：“辰星犯乘參，貴臣黜。”《荊州占》曰：“國有水、兵。”《春秋圖》曰：“之參，兵大起。”巫咸曰：“留止衡，兵革起；守參，貴臣黜。”郗萌曰：“逆行若留止衡中，為兵革起。”《黃帝占》曰：“辰星守伐，星移南，敵入塞；星移北，敵出塞。”石氏曰：“守參，且有水、兵；一曰有反者，國有憂。”

The 「Jingzhou Divination」 said: It signifies water disasters and military conflicts within the country. The 「Chunqiu Tu」 said: When Mercury reaches Shen, there will be great military movements. Wu Xian said: If Mercury stays at Heng, it indicates the outbreak of military conflicts; if it stays at Shen, it indicates the dismissal of high-ranking officials and ministers. Xi Meng said: If Mercuryretrograde or stays within Heng, it indicates the outbreak of military conflicts. The 「Yellow Emperor's Divination」 said: When Mercury stays at Faval, if the star position moves south, it indicates enemies entering the frontier; if it moves north, it indicates enemies leaving the frontier. Shi Shen said: If Mercury stays at Shen, there will be water disasters and military conflicts; another interpretation suggests there will be rebels and worries within the country.

班固《天文志》曰：“辰星與參出南方，為旱；若大臣誅。”石氏曰：“守參，天子不可以將兵動眾，國有反臣；一曰有赦，若出參中，邊有兵。”巫咸曰：“水災，萬物不成。”《海中占》曰：“守伐，衛尉當之。”郗萌曰：“守參，若守伐，為有反臣中兵，一曰為后夫人當之；一曰內亂。”《春秋圖》曰：“逆行守參，邊將有憂；一曰外夷動。”《聖洽符》曰：“入參犯守之，不出其年，有兵起，若拔邑；先起兵者破亡，後起兵者昌。”

Ban Gu's "Book of Han: Astronomical Records" says: When the planet Mercury appears together with the Three Stars mansion in the south, it indicates drought or the execution of a high official. Shi Shen says: If Mercury is stationed at the Three Stars mansion, it indicates that the emperor cannot lead an army to mobilize the people, and there will be a rebellious minister within the country; another interpretation suggests it indicates a great amnesty. If Mercury emerges from the Three Stars mansion, it indicates military affairs on the borders. Wu Xian says: It indicates water disasters, and all things cannot mature. "Sea Divination" says: If the planet is stationed at the Star of Execution, the verification will fall upon the Minister of the Palace Gate and Garrison, who oversees the garrison troops. Xi Meng says: If the planet is stationed at the Three Stars mansion or the Star of Execution, it indicates there will be a rebellious minister within the court who will raise an army; another interpretation suggests the verification will fall upon the empress dowager; another suggests internal disorder. "Spring Harmony Symbol" says: If the planet逆行 (retrogrades) and is stationed at the Three Stars mansion, it indicates that the generals defending the borders will have worries; another interpretation suggests unrest among foreign tribes. "Divination of Perfect Harmony" says: If the planet enters the Three Stars mansion and offends or stays there, within the same year, there will be military actions, or cities will be attacked and captured; the party that initiates the attack will suffer defeat and destruction, while the party that responds later will flourish.

《文曜鉤》曰：“辰星入東井，蠻夷君憂，有死者；若邊兵起，期不出年。”郗萌曰：“辰星入東井，軍在外；星進兵退；星退兵進。”《河圖》曰：“辰星出入東井，有暴兵；馬當貴。”《荊州占》曰：“辰星出入東井，有亂臣。”《黃帝》曰：“辰星守東井，為水。”

If the star moves forward, the army retreats; if the star moves backward, the army advances. The He Tu states: When the water star enters or leaves the East Well, there will be sudden military affairs, and the price of horses will rise. The Jingzhou Zhuan states: When the water star enters or leaves the East Well, there will be a rebellious minister. The Huangdi Zhuan states: When the water star guards the East Well, it signifies water-related events.

The commentary from the original text says that the "Astronomical Records" state that on the leap month, Jia Wu day of the thirtyrd year of Emperor Guangwu's Jianwu reign, a white vapor appeared above the twenty-degree position of the Water Star in the Well Mansion, pointing toward the southeast, with a flame extending five feet long, forming a comet-like shape, moving toward the northwest to the western boundary of the Emperor Star's palace. On the Jia Zi day of the fifth month, it was no longer visible, appearing for a total of thirty-one days. Normally, the Water Star should appear in the Well Mansion after the summer solstice, but this year the leap month occurred in the fourth month, which was not yet the appropriate time for its appearance, indicating a restless and premature movement. The Well Mansion is the master of water, and water emerging from here would become a great flood. In this year's fifth month and the following year, various commanderies and states experienced major floods, destroying cities, damaging crops, and drowning people.

《感精符》曰：“辰星守東井，去之七寸，七日已上至十五日，王者誅大臣；期不出百八十日。”石氏曰：“守東井，其年早旱，晚水；一曰天下大水；又曰法臣相戮；一曰入其中，王者易，更政。”甘氏曰：“守東井若角動，色赤黑，以水起兵。色黃潤澤，天子有善令；若色變，大人憂，天下有名水絕；所謂絕者，逆行而入之。”

The "Gan Jing Fu" states: When the water star guards the East Well, and is seven inches away from it, if it stays for more than seven days up to fifteen days, it indicates the monarch will execute his ministers; the predicted event will occur within a period of one hundred and eighty days. Shi Shen says: When the water star guards the East Well, it signifies drought in the early part of the year and flooding in the later part; another interpretation suggests a great flood across the country; another says that officials in charge of law and order will kill each other; another suggests that the star enters the Well Mansion, indicating the replacement of the monarch and a change in government policies. Gan De says: When the water star guards the East Well, if the star's light flickers and its color is dark red, it indicates military action caused by water disasters; if the color is yellow and moist, it indicates the emperor will issue good policies; if the color changes, it indicates the nobleman will have worries and a famous river will dry up; the so-called drying up refers to the water star moving backward and entering the East Well.

郗萌曰：“辰星久守東井，為金錢易，萬物五穀不成；一曰守東井，胡兵起，五穀霜死，其國尤甚，歲大惡。辰星入犯秉守東井三日以上，蠻夷君當之，死期三月，若一年、二年、三年。”石氏曰：“犯東井，守錢大臣誅，鈇鋮用，有兵起。”《荊州占》曰：“守東井，道上多死人。”陳卓曰：“守東井，百川皆溢。”

Xi Meng said: When the water star remains in the Well mansion for a long time, it indicates a change in the currency system, and all things and grains cannot mature; another interpretation says that when the water star stays in the Well mansion, it indicates the outbreak of war by the Hu people, and the grains are frozen by frost, especially severe in the country corresponding to the Well mansion, resulting in a very bad harvest. If the water star enters, invades, holds or stays in the Well mansion for more than three days, the effect will fall upon the rulers of the barbarians, and the time of death is three months, or one, two, or three years. Shi Shen said: When the water star invades the Well mansion, it indicates that the minister in charge of money and grain will be executed, and weapons such as axes and halberds will be used, with military actions arising. The "Jingzhou Divination" said: When the water star stays in the Well mansion, there will be many dead bodies lying on the roads. Chen Zhuo said: When the water star stays in the Well mansion, all rivers will overflow and cause disasters.

《河圖》曰：“辰星犯輿鬼，為國有憂，大臣誅。”石氏曰：“有兵；一曰犯天質，兵起。”郗萌曰：“犯輿鬼，亂臣在內。”《黃帝》曰：“犯輿鬼、質，執法者誅。”《南官侯》曰：“犯天尸，貴臣有罪；犯四星，天子發之。”郗萌曰：“入犯輿鬼，執法者有戮死，若兵起，將軍有憂，人多死。”《甄曜度》曰：“入輿鬼，犯積尸，大臣有誅、斧鑕用，貴人有犯罪者，若戮死。”

The celestial mansion called Yu Gui is also known as Gui Xu, consisting of four stars. In the center there is a white cloud-like formation called "Ji Shi Qi," also referred to as "Tian Shi" or "Zhi Xing." It presides over rituals and matters of death and mourning. The Yellow River Chart states that when the planet Mercury invades Yu Gui, it indicates national sorrow and the execution of high officials. Shi Shen says that it signifies military conflict; another interpretation suggests that when it invades Tian Zhi Xing, it indicates the outbreak of war. Xi Meng says that when it invades Yu Gui, it indicates a rebellious minister within the court. The Yellow Emperor's Divination says that when it invades Yu Gui and Zhi Xing, it indicates the execution of officials responsible for law and order. The Southern Officials' Manual says that when it invades Tian Shi, it indicates that high-ranking officials will be punished; when it invades the four stars of Gui Xu, it indicates that the emperor himself will take action. Xi Meng also says that when it enters and invades Yu Gui, it indicates the execution of officials responsible for law and order, or the outbreak of war, with generals facing worries and many deaths. The Zhen Yao Du text says that when it enters Yu Gui and invades Ji Shi Qi, it indicates the execution of high officials, the use of the execution tools, the punishment of noble persons, and even the death of some among them.

郗萌曰：“辰星入輿鬼，為大人卒，事以命終。”《荊州占》曰：“亂臣在內，有屠滅。”《天文志》曰：“為死喪，一曰大臣有死。”陳卓曰：“蠻夷之君有誅。”《春秋圖》曰：“辰之鬼，天下有疫病。”郗萌曰：“守輿鬼，月食；若五穀不成。”《春秋圖》曰：“守犯輿鬼，金錢發用，民多痛耳目。”石氏曰：“守輿鬼，有兵死者；一曰王者崩；一曰大人有祭祀之事。”《海中占》曰：“守輿鬼，出其南、水，出其北、旱。”

The "Astronomical Records" say: It indicates death and mourning, or the death of a high-ranking official. Chen Zhuo says: It signifies the execution of a chieftain of the barbarian tribes. The "Chunqiu Tu" says: When Mercury reaches Yu Gui, there will be an outbreak of plague throughout the country. Xi Meng also says: When Mercury guards Yu Gui, there will be an eclipse of the moon, or failure of the five grains to mature. The "Chunqiu Tu" says: When Mercury guards and invades Yu Gui, there will be large-scale expenditure of money and many people suffering from ear and eye pain. Shi Shen says: When Mercury guards Yu Gui, there will be deaths caused by warfare; or the death of the king; or a nobleman having a worship ceremony, which corresponds precisely to the original temple worship of Yu Gui. The "Hai Zhong Divination" says: When Mercury guards Yu Gui, if it comes out from the southern side, it signifies water; if it comes out from the northern side, it signifies drought.

郗萌曰：“守輿鬼三月，后夫人疾；二十日，太子夫人疾；十日，諸國王夫人病。守輿鬼，西南為秦漢、有反臣兵事；以赦令解之。守輿鬼、質星，鈇鉞用。守輿鬼，有喪；右為主人，左為客；一雲五月大水，蝗蟲。”《海中占》曰：“守入鬼，大人憂。”

Xi Meng said: Keeping watch over Yu Gui for three months indicates that the queen and empress will be ill; keeping watch for twenty days indicates that the consort of the crown prince will be ill; keeping watch for ten days indicates that the consorts of the various feudal princes will be ill. Keeping watch over Yu Gui, in the southwest direction, should be in the area of Qín and Han Zhong, indicating a rebellion by a minister and military action; this can be resolved by issuing an amnesty decree. Keeping watch over Yu Gui and the star Zhi, indicates the use of axes and halberds. Keeping watch over Yu Gui indicates there will be mourning; the right side should be on the host's side, and the left side on the guest's side; another saying is that in May there will be great floods and locust plagues. The "Sea of Divination" says: staying and entering Yu Gui indicates that the nobleman will have worries.

郗萌曰：“入若守輿鬼，為主憂、財寶出；若大臣有謀。秉賢者，君貴人憂，金玉用，民疾；南入、為男；北入、為女；西入、為老；東入，為壯；棺木貴。”《荊州占》曰：“千犯守輿鬼，隨所守，王者發之；不出七十日，天下有喪；陽，為人君；陰，為皇后；左、為太子；右、為貴臣。（《天文志》曰：“孝順漢安二年七月甲申、辰星犯輿鬼，明年八月，順帝崩，孝沖即位，明年正月崩。）

Xi Meng said: Entering or holding the position of Yu Gui leads to the sovereign having worries and treasure flowing out, or ministers plotting secretly. If one holds the position of a virtuous person, the sovereign and nobleman will have worries, and the movement of gold and jade objects will occur, with the people falling ill. Entering from the south indicates matters concerning men; entering from the north indicates matters concerning women; entering from the west indicates matters concerning the elderly; entering from the east indicates matters concerning the strong and vigorous; and coffin prices will be high. The "Jingzhou Divination" says: If the planet violates and holds the position of Yu Gui, then according to the position it holds, the sovereign must personally decide. Within seventy days, there will be mourning events throughout the country. If it is in the yang position, it concerns the sovereign; if in the yin position, it concerns the empress; if on the left, it concerns the crown prince; if on the right, it concerns the prominent ministers. (Original book note: The "Astronomical Records" states that in the second year of Han Shun Di's Han An period, on the Jiashen day of the seventh month, the planet Mercury violated Yu Gui. In the eighth month of the following year, Shun Di died, and Chong Di ascended the throne. After another year in the first month, Chong Di also died.)

石氏曰：“辰星犯柳，有木功事；若名木見伐者。”《海中占》曰：“入天庫，以水起。”《荊州占》曰：“入注，下刑上，子訟父，民多仇；粟貴、大旱、馬貴。”《春秋圖》曰：“辰星之柳，天下米貴，馬貴；先潦後旱。”《黃帝占》曰：“歲不收。”

The Willow Mansion consists of eight stars, also known as "Zhu," and is the beak of the Vermilion Bird in the south, governing food and meals. Shi Shen said: if the planet Mercury invades the Willow Mansion, it indicates there will be activities related to carpentry and construction; or that valuable trees will be cut down. The "Sea Divination" states: entering the celestial storehouse, it signifies events caused by water disasters. The "Jingzhou Divination" states: entering the Zhu mansion, it indicates that those in lower positions will punish those in higher positions, sons will accuse their fathers, and the people will have many disputes; grain prices will be high, there will be great drought, and horse prices will be high. The "Spring and Autumn Diagram" states: when the planet Mercury reaches the Willow Mansion, it indicates that grain prices will be high, horse prices will be high, and there will first be flooding followed by drought. The "Yellow Emperor's Divination" states: it indicates that there will be no harvest that year.

甘氏曰：“王者賜客，若國有貴客。”郗萌曰：“為反臣中外兵，以德令解之；一曰舟船相望，在於北方；若處其陽，大旱，又死喪；處其陰，大水，為災傷。”《玄冥占》曰：“貴臣得地，後有德令；不出九十日。”郗萌曰：“辰星守柳注，藥在酒食中，忌，不可食之。”

Gan De said: The sovereign is rewarding guests, or there is an important guest arriving in the country. Xi Meng said: The ruler has a rebellious minister colluding with troops both inside and outside, and this can be resolved by benevolent policies; another interpretation says that ships are seen head to tail, and the event will occur in the north; if it is in the yang position of Liuxu, it indicates a great drought and death and mourning; if it is in the yin position, it indicates a great flood, causing disaster. The "Xuanming Zhuan" said: The sovereign's prominent ministers will receive fiefs, and there will be an edict of grace afterwards; this will happen within ninety days. Xi Meng said: The planet Water is stationed in Liuxu, indicating poison in food and drink, which should be avoided and not consumed.

郗萌曰：“辰星犯七星，臣為亂。”甘氏曰：“入七星，有君置太子者。”《春秋圖》曰：“辰星之七星，天下勞，多流亡。”郗萌曰：“留七星，為天下大憂。”（憂中兵也）石氏曰：“守七星，民多疾；一曰民流千里；又曰兵內起；若守二十日以上，有水。”

The Seven Stars are part of the Star Mansions, consisting of seven stars, which are the neck of the Vermilion Bird. They presage urgent military affairs and also matters concerning clothing and embroidered patterns. Xi Meng said: When the planet Mercury offends the Seven Stars, it indicates rebellion by the ministers. Gan De said: When entering the Seven Stars, it signifies the king's intention to appoint a crown prince. The Spring Diagram says: When Mercury reaches the Seven Stars, it indicates widespread hardship across the land and many people fleeing. Xi Meng also said: When Mercury stays in the Seven Stars, it indicates great worries for the country. (Original note: The worry relates to internal military affairs.) Shi Shen said: When Mercury guards the Seven Stars, it indicates many diseases among the people; another interpretation says many people will flee over a thousand li; it also signifies military disturbances arising from within; if Mercury remains in the Seven Stars for more than twenty days, it indicates flooding.

甘氏曰：“守七星，若角動，天下有兵，三年乃解；又曰萬物不成。”《海中占》曰：“大臣凶，貴人有罪，若法官有憂。”郗萌曰：“為反臣中外兵，以德令解之；一曰大水為災。”（此《荊州占》也）巫咸曰：“犯七星三日以上，賊臣在側；若有叛臣，皆九十日；應之以善令，則無咎。”

Gan De said: If the seven stars are observed and their bright rays flicker, it indicates that there will be warfare throughout the land, which will take three years to be resolved; also, it indicates that all things will not be completed. The Sea Divination says: It indicates that high officials will suffer misfortune, noblemen will be punished, or officials in charge of law will have worries. Xi Meng said: It indicates that there will be a minister who rebels and conspires with both internal and external forces, which can be resolved by implementing benevolent policies. Another interpretation says that great floods will cause disaster. (Original book note: This passage is from the Jiangzhou Divination.) Wu Xian said: If the seven stars are offended for more than three days, it indicates that a treacherous minister is near the ruler; or there will be a rebellious minister, who should be dealt with within ninety days; by implementing virtuous policies, disaster will not be brought about.

《春秋圖》曰：“辰星之張，有賢人在下，當為卿相。”石氏曰：“守張，天下大水，兵起；若守而角動，有臣傷其君；色赤，有兵出，其君傷，諸侯之臣，起於宮中，從庖廚奉牢之間是也；其色黑，食中有藥，不可食；大人有憂。”

Zhang Xu has six stars which are the crop of the Vermilion Bird, governing treasures and the garments used in ancestral temples, and also the banquets hosted by the Son of Heaven. The "Spring and Autumn Diagram" says: when the planet Mercury approaches Zhang Xu, there will be a virtuous person in a low position who should be promoted to a high official position. Shi Shen says: if the star guards Zhang Xu, there will be great floods throughout the country and wars will break out; if the star remains in place and its light flickers, there will be a minister harming the sovereign; if the star appears red, there will be military movements, the sovereign will be injured, and the rebellion will be caused by the ministers of the feudal lords, and the incident will occur within the palace, specifically among those who prepare food and sacrifice animals; if the star appears black, there will be poison in the food, which should not be eaten, and the nobleman will have worries.

甘氏曰：“守張，貴臣專國，天下不寧。”巫咸曰：“萬物五穀不成。”郗萌曰：“為反臣中外兵，以德令解之。謂赦令也。又曰夏麥不收，大飢；一曰民多喪、病，又多鬥訟。”《南官候》曰：“天下大飢。”《百二十占》曰：“且有更令。”郗萌曰：“入張，若守之，水入火，為逆理犯上，天下不安；下謀上，多鬥訟，若多疾。”

Gan De said: When the planet stays in Zhang Xu, it indicates that powerful ministers will dominate the government, causing the country to be in turmoil. Wu Xian said: It indicates that all things and the five grains will not be ripe. Xi Meng said: It indicates that there will be ministers who conspire with both internal and external forces, and this can be resolved by issuing pardons and benevolent decrees. He also said that the summer wheat will not be harvested, leading to a great famine; another interpretation is that there will be many funerals, many diseases, and frequent disputes and lawsuits. The "Southern Officials' Forecast" said: It indicates a great famine across the country. The "One Hundred and Twenty Divinations" said: There will be changes in government policies. Xi Meng said: When entering Zhang Xu or staying within it, Zhang Xu belongs to the southern fire, which represents water invading fire, indicating actions against the norm and offending superiors, leading to instability throughout the country; subordinates will plot against superiors, resulting in frequent disputes and lawsuits, or many diseases.

《玉曆》曰：“辰星入翼中，兵大起。”《春秋圖》曰：“辰星之翼，有賢在民間，當用。”石氏曰：“守翼，水入火，逆理；貴臣有憂，若大臣有戮，又曰水旱之災；星入其度，當位者退之，以消天怒，王者以赦除咎；又曰守翼，為萬物不成；一曰為人民流亡；又曰監鐵大貴四倍，牛馬行。”

The twenty-two stars of Yixu are the wings of the Vermilion Bird, governing music, dance, songs, and the coming of distant envoys. The "Juyi" states: When the water star enters Yixu, there will be great military conflicts. The "Chunqiu Tu" states: When the water star reaches Yixu, there will be virtuous talents in the common people, who should be appointed. Shi Shen says: When the water star guards Yixu, it signifies water entering fire, which is against the norm; it indicates that high-ranking officials or ministers will have worries, or that ministers may be killed. It also signifies drought or flood disasters. When the water star enters the degree of Yixu, the officials in the proper position should step down to appease the anger of heaven, and the king should use a great amnesty to remove calamities. It also says that when the water star guards Yixu, all things will not be completed; another interpretation says that the people will flee; another says that the prices of salt and iron will rise fourfold, and oxen and horses will run along the roads.

甘氏曰：“守翼，大水，兵起；色白、京師起；色黃，事成；色青黑，死事。”巫咸曰：“為旱。”《海中占》曰：“有兵災，若大水在北方，五穀不成。”郗萌曰：“多火災；一曰火在北方；又曰為反臣中外兵，以德解之。”《荊州占》曰：“近臣，為有亡國，飢歲，民流千里；若地龍見。”

Gan De said: If the star is seen in the Wings mansion, it indicates a great flood and the outbreak of military affairs; if the star appears white, it indicates military actions starting from the capital; if the star appears yellow, it indicates that matters will be successfully completed; if the star appears dark blue, it indicates there will be deaths and funerals. Wu Xian said: It indicates a drought. The "Sea Divination" said: It indicates military calamities, or a great flood in the north, and the failure of the five grains to mature. Xi Meng said: It indicates many fires; another interpretation says that fires will occur in the north; it also says that there will be a minister who rebels and conspires with both internal and external troops, which can be resolved by benevolent governance. The "Jingzhou Divination" said: The effect will be on the king's close ministers, indicating the country's downfall, a bad harvest, and the migration of the people over a thousand miles; or there will be strange phenomena like earth dragons.

陳卓曰：“王者有疾，期不出年中。”《二十八宿山經注》曰：“辰星一年不出，出於翼軫，主死。”《玄冥占》曰：“守翼，若有誅者。”《玉曆》曰：“有急事，若有大風。”陳卓曰：“犯守翼，天下大荒。”班固《天文志》曰：“辰星與翼見西方，大臣誅。”

Chen Zhuo said: The sovereign ruler is ill, and the omen will not occur within the same year. The "Commentary on the Twenty-Eight Mansions and Mountains" said: The planet Water is usually hidden in the sunlight, if it remains hidden for a whole year and then appears suddenly in the Wings Mansion or the Chariot Mansion, it indicates death. The "Xuan Ming Divination" said: If Water is stationed at the Wings Mansion, there will be someone executed. The "Jade Calendar" said: It indicates urgent matters or a great wind. Chen Zhuo said: If Water violates and stays at the Wings Mansion, it signifies great famine across the land. Ban Gu's "Book of Han · Records of Astronomy" said: If Water and the Wings Mansion appear together in the west, it indicates the execution of a high official.

石氏曰：“辰星入軫中，為大兵起。”巫咸曰：“伺其出日而數之，期二十日，為兵發；伺始入處之率，一日期十日，軍罷。”《黃帝占》曰：“守軫，天下大疾，貴者多死；一曰國有喪。”《天文志》曰：“守犯軫，為白衣之會。”石氏曰：“守軫，萬物五穀不成。”郗萌曰：“守軫，為反臣中外兵，以德令解之，又執法貴臣凶，車騎用。”

The four stars of Chariot Mansion belong to the Vermilion Bird, governing carriages and riding, as well as wind. Shi Shen said: When the planet Mercury enters Chariot Mansion, it indicates the outbreak of large-scale military conflicts. Wu Xian said: By calculating the days it takes for the planet to emerge, with a period of twenty days, military actions will be initiated; also, by measuring the position where it first enters, each day corresponds to ten days, and the army will disband. The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: When Chariot Mansion is occupied, it signifies a great plague across the land, with many prominent people dying; another interpretation suggests there will be mourning within the country. The Astronomical Records say: When Chariot Mansion is occupied and disturbed, it indicates gatherings of mourning people wearing white clothes. Shi Shen said: When Chariot Mansion is occupied, it indicates that all things and grain will not mature. Xi Meng said: When Chariot Mansion is occupied, it indicates that a rebellious minister will conspire with both internal and external forces, which can be resolved by benevolent governance; also, it indicates that officials of law and justice will suffer misfortune, and chariots and cavalry will be mobilized.

《玉曆》曰：’天下疾疫，人多死；其死，災多在北方。”《南官候》曰：“戚臣凶。”《甄曜度》曰：“入軫及守犯之，有兵必大戰，有破軍殺將於其野，人心驚駭；守過二十日以上，光明色大，有數十萬人戰，流血積尸殃；不則大水，有山河崩決，百姓流波之災；五穀傷敗，人民飢死；期二年。”

The "Yulu" says: It governs the plague across the world, causing many deaths; deaths and calamities mostly occur in the northern regions. The "Nanguan Hou" says: It governs ministers from the imperial family who will suffer misfortune. The "Zhenyaodu" says: If it enters the Chariot mansion or stays and offends it, there will be military conflicts, certainly leading to a great battle, with armies defeated and generals killed in the border areas of that region, causing people to be greatly alarmed; if it stays for more than twenty days, with bright light and enlarged form, there will be battles involving hundreds of thousands of soldiers, with blood flowing like rivers and corpses piling up as disasters; otherwise, there will be great floods, mountain collapses and river breaches, causing people to be drowned; crops will be damaged, leading to starvation and deaths; this will occur within two years.

《海中占》曰：“辰星守大角，臣謀主；有兵起，人主憂，王者戒慎左右；期不出百八十日，遠一年。”

The Big Dipper is a large star located between the two stars of the摄提, representing the throne of the heavenly king and symbolizing the supreme authority of the emperor. The Sea Divination says: when the water star is stationed at the Big Dipper, it indicates that ministers may plot against the sovereign; there will be military actions, and the sovereign will face troubles. The emperor should be cautious and vigilant with his close attendants. The predicted time for this event will not exceed 180 days, but may be as long as a year.

巫咸曰：“辰星守梗河，國有謀兵，四夷兵起，來侵中國，邊境有憂。”

The three stars of Genghe are located north of the Big Dipper's handle, indicating military affairs of the Hu people. They symbolize spears, halberds, and weapons in the sky. Wu Xian said: When the planet Mercury is stationed at Genghe, it signifies that there are people within the country plotting military actions. The four surrounding barbarian tribes will raise armies and invade the Central Plains, causing troubles at the borders.

《聖洽符》曰：“辰星犯招搖，邊兵大起，四夷為寇；若守之，夷人敗，若夷主死；期不出二年。”

A star called Zhao Yao is located north of the Geng He river and corresponds with the end of the Big Dipper's handle, indicating military affairs of the Hu people. The "Sheng Qia Fu" states: when the planet Water Star invades Zhao Yao, it signifies major military movements on the borders, with the four surrounding barbarian tribes coming to plunder; if the star remains in place, the barbarians will be defeated or their ruler will die; the prediction will come true within two years.
