Shi Shen said: when Mercury appears during the day, the corresponding region in the heavenly divisions is either doomed to fall or will experience great chaos. The "Jingzhou Divination" states: when Mercury crosses the meridian during the day, it portends misfortune.

《龍魚河圖》曰：“天辰之氣，主司災；其精下為先農之神。”巫咸曰：“辰星下為女子，止於都津。”石氏曰：“辰星之為雲，如曲流水，災期四月。”《春秋緯》曰：“辰星生足，故主走，新主入。”

The Longyu He Tu says: The celestial star Chen Xing's energy governs calamities and anomalies; its essence descends to the human world and becomes the deity "Xian Nong." Wu Xian says: The essence of the water star descends to the human world and transforms into a woman, remaining at the ferry of the capital city. Shi Shen says: The energy of the water star transforms into clouds, appearing as a curved stream of water, and the time of calamity occurs within four months. The Chūnqiū Wěi says: When a luminous appendage appears beside the water star, shaped like a foot, this is called "Sheng Zu," indicating the departure of the former ruler and the establishment of a new ruler.

石氏曰：“辰星始出東方而大，天下有兵。”巫咸曰：“辰星失其常，賊入且昌，社稷傾，亡事行，修鼓革，男女更，治事不治。”《荊州占》曰：“辰星出東方，白而大，有兵於外解；色黃，國有福，五穀熟；色赤，旱，為兵；色黑，為水；青，為憂；白，喪。”

Shi Shen said: When the water star appears from the east, it appears particularly large, indicating that there will be military conflicts throughout the land. Wu Xian said: When the water star deviates from its normal position, thieves invade and become increasingly rampant, the state and ancestral temples are overthrown, and all actions lead to the downfall of the country. People are busy repairing war drums and leather to prepare for war, with the positions of men and women becoming disordered and changing. The affairs of government appear to be in order but are actually not. The "Jingzhou Divination" says: When the water star appears in the east, if it is white in color and large in form, it indicates that military conflicts outside the country will be resolved. If it is yellow in color, the country will have good fortune and the five grains will be abundant. If it is red in color, it indicates drought and also military conflict. If it is black in color, it indicates flood disasters. If it is green in color, it indicates worries and troubles. If it is white in color, it indicates mourning and funerals.

巫咸曰：“辰星小而失常，主近無益之臣妾，內亂，兵起。”《天官書》曰：“辰星黃而小，出而易處，天下之文，變而不善矣。”巫咸曰：“辰星小而動。兵小起；大動，兵大起。”《文曜鉤》曰：“辰星小而色黃，地大動。”《荊州占》曰：“辰星始出東方，小而不明，天子有無益事。辰星小而色黃，當雨反旱，當旱反雨。”

Wu Xian said: When the water star is small in form and deviates from its normal position, it indicates the ruler is close to those who are not beneficial to the state, leading to internal disorder and military conflicts. The Records of the Grand Historian, in its section on celestial officials, says: When the water star appears yellow and small, and then changes its position, it signifies that the cultural and institutional systems of the world will deteriorate. Wu Xian said: When the water star is small and slightly trembling, minor military conflicts arise; if it trembles greatly, major military conflicts occur. The Wen Yao Gou says: When the water star is small and yellow, it indicates great earthquakes on earth. The Jingzhou Divination says: When the water star first appears in the east, is small and not bright, it indicates the emperor engages in useless affairs. When the water star is small and yellow, it indicates drought when rain is expected and rain when drought is expected.

巫咸曰：“辰星流，君臣倍，有反事；一曰流若明，明信有事。”石氏曰：“辰星流出，天下有大水，太子、御史，諸官多死。”

Wu Xian said: When the water star moves unpredictably, it indicates that the sovereign and ministers are mutually estranged, and there will be rebellions; another interpretation says that when the water star moves and shines brightly, the events it foretells are indeed reliable. Shi Shen said: When the water star disperses, it signifies great floods across the land, and many princes, officials, and various government officers will die.

《荊州占》曰：“辰星與宿合東方，臣伐主。”巫咸曰：“辰星與宿合，若關西方，期六月，強國宮中有事。”班固《天文志》曰：“辰星與他星過而斗，（晉灼曰：妖星，彗、孛之屬也。）一曰五星；天下大亂，出於房心間，地動。”

the so-called "he" means two stars meeting in the same degree;the so-called "dou" means they are close to each other as if fighting. The "Jingzhou Divination" says: if the water star meets the constellations in the east, it indicates that ministers will attack the sovereign. Wu Xian says: if the water star meets the constellations, and it relates to the west, the event will occur within six months, and there will be disturbances in the court of a powerful state. Ban Gu's "Han Shu · Tianwen Zhi" says: if the water star passes by another star and they approach each other in a struggle (note: Jin Zhu says, here "other star" refers to a demon star, which includes comets and孛stars), another interpretation refers to the five stars; it indicates great chaos in the world. If this occurs between the constellations of Fang and Xin, there will be an earthquake.

《黃帝占》曰：“辰星生氣而為黑穰，明日大霧，暮時大雨；不出六十日，所在宿獨大水。”《孝經內記》曰：“辰星生氣而為黑穰者，不出六十日，牛馬羊皆貴三倍。”《荊州占》曰：“辰星出穰氣一丈，大水。”

"Rang Qi" is originally written as "Rang," referring to a cluster of qi rising beside a star, which is a type of stellar anomaly. The "Yellow Emperor's Divination" states: when the water star produces a black Rang Qi, there will be heavy fog the next day, and rain in the evening; within sixty days, the region corresponding to the constellation where the star is located will experience a major flood. The "Inner Record of the Book of Filial Piety" says: when the water star generates black Rang Qi, within sixty days, the prices of cattle, horses, and sheep will triple. The "Jingzhou Divination" states: when the water star emits Rang Qi reaching a height of ten feet, it indicates a great flood.

《孝經右秘》曰：“辰星冠珥，帝不明；三月之中，正陽滅弱；下力強，陰制政，反蔽陽；佞人出，世有兵。辰星冠珥，王失土。”巫咸曰：“辰星白暈，邊有兵；其失色，兵，其國凶。辰星白暈，邊有水、兵，患三年乃止。”

"Guàn" refers to a short, cap-like appearance above a star, "Ěr" refers to short, ear ornament-like appearances on both sides of a star, and "Yùn" refers to a luminous halo surrounding the star. The "Xiao Jing You Mi" states: when the planet Venus has both "guàn" and "ěr," it indicates the emperor is not enlightened; within three months, pure yang energy declines; the lower ranks gain power, and yin energy controls the government, reversing to obscure yang energy; wicked ministers are promoted, and there will be military calamities. When Venus has both "guàn" and "ěr," it signifies the loss of territory by the king. Wu Xian says: if there is a white "yùn" ring outside Venus, it indicates military affairs on the borders; if the "yùn" ring loses its original color, it indicates the outbreak of war, and the region corresponding to the star will suffer misfortune. Venus with a white "yùn" indicates water disasters and military troubles on the borders, causing harm for three years before stopping.

郗萌曰：“辰星出彗東北，不出三月，兵聚其下。”（司馬彪《天文志》曰：光武建帝三十年閏月甲午，水在東井二十度，生白氣，東南指，焰長五尺，為彗，東北行至紫宮西潘工，白氣為喪，有焰作彗，彗，所以除積，紫宮天子之宮，彗加其蕃，除宮之象，後三年，光武崩。）

Xi Meng said: The planet Water appears in the Northeast with a comet-like tail, and within three months, a large number of soldiers will gather under the area corresponding to its position. (Note from the original text: Sima Biao's "Continued Book of Han · Astronomical Records" states that on the leap month Jiawu day of the thirtyrd year of Guangwu Emperor's reign, the planet Water appeared at twenty degrees of the Well mansion, emitting a white light pointing to the Southeast, with a flame extending five feet long, forming a comet-like shape, moving towards the West boundary of the Purple Micro Palace in the Northeast. White light signifies mourning, and when white light produces flame and forms a comet, it signifies the sweeping away of accumulated filth. The Purple Micro Palace is the imperial palace of the Son of Heaven, and the comet's influence upon the palace walls signifies the cleansing of the palace. Three years later, the Guangwu Emperor passed away.)

《黃帝占》曰：“辰星出中道，天下太平；出陽道，旱；出陰道，多雨，多陰謀；乘左角為旱；乘右角為水、兵，小戰。乘右角，將相，若后家族有坐法死者。近角合斗，女子為天下害，大臣殺主。留兩角間，關梁不通，軍有寡，國庭邊境不通。守角，王者刑罰急，國有帝者，天下大亂；又為水災，一曰多水災；一曰五穀不成；又曰大水滂滂，民往來舟船相望。守左右角，黑為水；赤為旱；青為憂；白為喪。守角中央，為大臣憂。”

The two stars of the Horn Mansion are the horn of the Eastern Blue Dragon. Between the left and right horns lies the Heavenly Gate, through which the Yellow Path passes. The book "Yellow Emperor's Divination" says: when the planet Mercury is on the Yellow Path's central path, it signifies peace throughout the world; if it is偏向 the north, the "Yang Path," it signifies drought; if it is偏向 the south, the "Yin Path," it signifies much rain and many conspiracies. If the planet is pressing upon the left horn star, it signifies drought; if it is pressing upon the right horn star, it signifies flood disasters and military conflicts, with small-scale battles. If it is pressing upon the right horn, it signifies that someone from the prime minister's family or the queen's family will be executed for breaking the law. If the star is close to the horns and presses upon them, it signifies that a woman will cause chaos throughout the world, and a minister will kill the king. If the star remains between the left and right horns, it signifies that passes and bridges are blocked, the military has a shortage of soldiers, and communication between the capital and the borders is cut off. If the star stays at the horns, it signifies that the king imposes harsh punishments, there is another person claiming to be emperor within the country, and great chaos occurs; it also signifies floods, one interpretation says many floods; another says poor harvests of grain; another says great floods, with people traveling only by boat, and boats looking at each other on the water. If the star is at the left or right horn, a black color signifies water, a red color signifies drought, a blue color signifies worry, and a white color signifies death. If the star is at the center of the two horns, it signifies worry among the ministers.

辰星舍亢，歲小水，焦旱不至。辰星數入亢，其國疫病。乘亢左星，萬物不成，五穀貴。乘右星，為大兵，有奇令。乘若守亢左星，為水；乘右星，為大兵，為有擊者；逆乘滅右星，為大人憂。守亢，多盜，賊、兵並起，人民相惡。逆行守亢，為中央。入亢而犯守之，名曰陰閉三光，大水滂滂，無有立牆。

The four stars of Kangle are located east of Jiao Xu, representing the inner court of the Son of Heaven, governing diseases and legal punishments. If the planet of water is stationed in Kangle, it indicates minor water disasters in the current year, but severe drought will not occur. If the planet of water frequently enters Kangle, it signifies an epidemic in the region corresponding to Kangle. If the planet presses upon the star on the left side of Kangle, it indicates failure of all things and high prices of grain. If it presses upon the star on the right side, it indicates major military affairs and extraordinary imperial edicts. If the planet presses upon or guards the left star of Kangle, it indicates water; if it presses upon the right star, it indicates major military conflict and attacks. If the planetretrograde presses upon and covers the right star, it indicates that the nobleman will have worries. If the planet guards Kangle, it indicates many bandits, thieves, and military troubles arising together, with people hating each other. If the planetretrograde guards Kangle, the effect will be seen in the central region. If the planet enters Kangle and also offends or stays within it, it is called 'Yin closure of the three lights,' meaning the Yin energy blocks the sun, moon, and stars, leading to great floods, so severe that even a wall cannot stand.

辰星入氐犯守，貴臣暴憂，法官有獄事。乘氐右星，天下有大水，大兵；天子有自將兵於野。守氐，其下七日有水，守十八日，有兵大起，遠九十日。守氐，多惡風，天下大旱，谷不成；天下大疫，國易政。守氐，多為水災。

The four stars of theRoot mansion are located east of theNeck mansion, representing the resting place of the Son of Heaven and also governing the imperial concubines. If the planet of water enters theRoot mansion and invades or stays there, it indicates sudden misfortune befalling prominent ministers, and officials in charge of law and punishment will deal with many lawsuits. If a star presses upon the right side of theRoot mansion, it signifies great floods and great military conflicts; the Son of Heaven will personally lead troops to campaign in the fields. If the planet stays in theRoot mansion, it indicates that within seven days there will be flooding in the region corresponding to theRoot mansion; if it stays for eighteen days, there will be large-scale military movements, and distant conflicts may occur within ninety days. Staying in theRoot mansion also indicates frequent bad winds, widespread drought, and unripe crops; it also signifies a great plague and changes in state policies. Staying in theRoot mansion also often indicates water disasters.

郗萌曰：“辰星入房三道，為天子有子。入房十日，成勾已，為天子忌之，以赦解之。守房，人民多暴死者；又為良馬出廄；或有暴誅，大臣相害，乘天下，道不通；一曰天下水起，不則有兵。守鉤鈴，地裂；若山崩。

The four stars of Fang Su are located east of Di Su, representing the Bright Hall where the Son of Heaven governs and issues decrees. These four stars are likened to four horses drawing a carriage. Between them there are three paths: upper, middle, and lower. There are also two stars called Gou Qin beside them. Xi Meng says: When the planet Water enters the upper, middle, and lower paths of Fang Su, it indicates the Son of Heaven will have a son. If Water enters Fang Su and remains for ten days, then due to retrograde motion and irregular path, it follows a winding course like 'Gou Si', indicating the Son of Heaven should be cautious and issue a great amnesty to resolve the issue. If the stars guard Fang Su, it signifies many people will die suddenly; or fine horses will be released from the stables; or there will be sudden executions, ministers will attack each other, oppression will spread throughout the land, and roads will be blocked. Another interpretation is that it signifies flooding across the land, or otherwise military disaster. If the stars guard the two stars of Gou Qin beside Fang Su, it indicates the earth will crack open; or mountains will collapse.

辰星犯守房，馬大貴，若大赦。入守房心間，地動。守房，為人主無下堂；又曰東去而復遠，成勾已，為后夫人有喪；一曰為大飢，人相食，死者不葬；又曰守南，以水起兵。守房，為天下諸侯相謀，慮道不通；一曰天下易王，大人喪，有反逆臣。

When the water star invades and guards the Room mansion, it indicates that the price of horses will be very high, or there will be a great amnesty. When it enters and guards between the Room mansion and the Heart mansion, it indicates an earthquake. When it guards the Room mansion, it indicates that the sovereign should not descend from the hall. It also says that when the water star moves eastward and then goes further away, forming a 'gou si' winding shape, it indicates that the queen or empress will have a death. Another interpretation says it indicates a great famine, people eating people, and the dead being left unburied. Another says that when it guards the southern part of the Room mansion, it indicates military action caused by water disasters. When it guards the Room mansion, it indicates that the feudal lords will plot against each other, with blocked thoughts and unpassable roads. Another interpretation says it indicates a change of sovereigns, the death of a nobleman, and the emergence of rebellious ministers.

逆行守房心，天子被藥酒死；一曰宮人食糟糠。犯房，谷大貴，大飢；犯若守房，有白衣之會；一曰為天下相誅；若犯左右驂，大人中相誅。犯房，奸臣有謀。

When the planet Mercury retrogrades and guards the Room mansion and Heart mansion, it indicates the emperor will be poisoned to death by wine; another interpretation suggests that people in the palace can only eat moldy rice and bran. Offending the Room mansion leads to high grain prices and great famine; offending or guarding the Room mansion indicates gatherings for white-cloth funerals; another interpretation suggests mutual killings throughout the country. Offending the骖 stars on either side of the Room mansion indicates nobles in the court will kill each other. Offending the Room mansion indicates that ministers in secret plot against the state.

辰星留逆犯守乘陵房左右驂，若左右服，皆為主崩；臣有謀，陰所中將謀；逆行乘陵中道，天子失位而亡；順行乘陵中道，天下和平。辰星犯乘鉤鈐，大臣有悞天子不尊事天者，致大災於宗廟；王者不宜出宮下殿，有謀匿於宮廟中者。犯鉤鈐，王者憂。中犯乘陵房星者，國君憂；色青，憂喪；赤、憂積尸成山；黑，有將相誅；白芒角，大哭。”

When the planet Water is stationary, retrograde, or intrudes upon the left or right骖 stars, or the left or right服 stars of the House of Fang (Fang Su), it indicates the death of the sovereign, ministers plotting secretly, and people being slandered and about to rebel. If the planet Water retrogrades and intrudes upon the central path of the House of Fang, it indicates the sovereign losing his throne and dying. If the planet Water moves forward and intrudes upon the central path, it indicates peace throughout the land. If the planet Water intrudes upon the two stars called Gou Qian, it indicates a high official delaying the sovereign, causing the sovereign to be disrespectful to heaven, thus bringing great disaster to the ancestral temple. The sovereign should not leave the palace or descend from the hall, as there are conspirators hidden within the temple. If the planet Water intrudes upon Gou Qian, it indicates the sovereign will have worries. If the planet Water intrudes upon the House of Fang stars from the center, it indicates the sovereign will have worries. If the color of the star is blue, the worry relates to death; if red, it relates to a large number of corpses; if black, it indicates ministers or generals being executed; if white with apointed rays, it indicates great mourning.

辰星犯天子，王者絕嗣；犯太子，不得代；犯庶子，庶子不利。辰星經心，清明烈照，天下內奉明王，帝心延年。合心，玄色不明，有喪。

The three stars of the Heart Mansion, known as Xin Xu, consist of a central large star called "Tian Wang," also known as the King's Star. The star before it is called the Crown Prince, and the one after is called the Common Son. Together, these three stars are referred to as the Bright Hall. If the planet Mercury approaches the central Tian Wang star, it indicates the monarch will have no successors. If it approaches the Crown Prince star, it suggests the Crown Prince cannot ascend the throne. If it approaches the Common Son star, it indicates misfortune for the Common Son. When Mercury passes through the Heart Mansion, if its light is clear and bright, it signifies that the entire realm will honor a wise monarch, and the monarch's virtue will be prolonged. If Mercury aligns with the Heart Mansion and the stars appear dark and unclear, it foretells mourning events.

守心，以水滅火，三日不去，主服女藥，大臣相戮，山川大潰，水溢滂滂；一曰大人以外兵死；色黃，增地；色白，有義於天下；一曰陰侵於陽，臣謀其主；又曰天下大敗，易王；一曰大臣弒主。

This forms an image of Water extinguishing Fire. If the star appears yellow, it signifies an increase in territory. If it appears white, it indicates the spread of virtue throughout the world. Another interpretation suggests that this is an invasion of Yin over Yang, with ministers plotting against the sovereign. It also suggests a great defeat across the land, leading to a change in the sovereign. Another interpretation suggests that a minister will kill the sovereign.

逆行守房心，天子被藥酒死；一曰官人食糟糠，辰星中犯乘守心，明堂，大人憂，大臣當之；在陽、為燕；在陰，為胡；期十月、遠三年。逆行犯心、明堂、環繞成勾已，為大人憂；期六月，若遠三年，赦以解之。

The planet Water retrogrades and guards the Room mansion and Heart mansion, indicating the death of the emperor by poisoned wine; another interpretation suggests that only wine lees and rice bran can be consumed in the palace. When the planet Water directly offends, dominates, or guards the Heart mansion's Bright Hall, it indicates trouble for the Nobleman, and the effect falls upon the ministers. If it occurs in the Yang position, the effect is in Yan; if in the Yin position, it is in Hu. The time of effect is ten months, or as long as three years. If the planet Water retrogrades and offends the Heart mansion's Bright Hall, circling around it and then exiting in a 'gou si' winding pattern, it indicates trouble for the Nobleman. The time of effect is six months, or as long as three years, and can be mitigated by a general amnesty.

辰星中犯乘守心、明堂，皆為內亂，臣欲殺主，有亡國；近期十月，中期一年，遠期二十八年；又曰大臣當之。留逆犯守乘陵心星者，宮內賊亂，臣下有謀易王；權在宗家及得勢大臣。

辰星入尾，天下大水，江河決溢，魚鹽貴三倍。辰星入九江，天下多水。守尾者，為大人女君惡之。辰星守尾，大飢，人相食，民異其國；君子賣衣，小人賣子，妃后亂。

The Tail Mansion has nine stars and represents the tail of the Eastern Blue Dragon; it also symbolizes the order of concubines in the imperial harem. Beside it are the Nine Rivers stars. When the Water Star enters the Tail Mansion, it indicates great floods, river breaches and overflowing waters, with the prices of fish and salt rising threefold. When the Water Star enters the Nine Rivers stars, it indicates excessive water throughout the land. Those who guard the Tail Mansion indicate that both the Nobleman and the female ruler will dislike this celestial phenomenon. When the Water Star guards the Tail Mansion, it signifies a great famine, people eating people, and the common people scattering to other countries; the virtuous sell their clothes, the common people sell their children, and the concubines and empresses become licentious.

守尾，執政得事；又曰以水起兵，其年必成；一曰疾病。守尾、箕，後宮有省者；一曰後宮有罪廢者。守尾，為用事者當之，天下牢開，大赦；一曰天下大水，萬物不成，民多疾疫。留逆犯守乘陵尾，皇后以珠王簪珥惑天子者；誣讒大起，后相貴臣誅，宮人出走，兵起宮門。

Keeping the Tail Mansion indicates that officials in power will achieve their objectives; it also suggests that an army will be raised due to flooding, and that year will certainly succeed; another interpretation suggests it relates to illness. Keeping the Tail and Winnowing Basket Mansions indicates that there will be people dismissed from the palace; another interpretation suggests that there will be officials who are disgraced and removed. Keeping the Tail Mansion indicates that the effect will fall upon those in power, leading to the opening of prisons and a general pardon; another interpretation suggests a great flood, failure of all things, and widespread plague among the people. Staying, reversing, offending, remaining, or overpowering the Tail Mansion indicates that the queen consort will use jewelry and ornaments to entice the emperor; slander and false accusations will prevail, with the queen consort, chancellor, and prominent ministers being executed, palace attendants fleeing, and military conflict starting from the palace gates.

辰星犯箕，河水大溢；若入箕中，伺其出日而數之，皆期三十日，兵發；伺始入處之率，一日期十日，軍罷。若入箕，天下大赦；一曰牢開；一曰大人當之。守箕，皆為其歲水；一曰皆為女主憂；合箕，用事者坐之。

The four stars of Ji Xu are located at the end of the Eastern Azure Dragon, shaped like a winnowing basket, governing wind and disputes involving speech. If the Water Star invades Ji Xu, it indicates a great flood and overflowing of rivers. If it enters Ji Xu, one should wait until the day it exits to calculate, with a period of thirty days for military actions. Also, according to the starting position of its entry, each day corresponds to ten days, leading to the dispersal of troops. If the Water Star enters Ji Xu, it signifies a great amnesty across the country; another interpretation suggests the prison doors will open; another says it will affect the nobleman. Holding Ji Xu indicates there will be water in the current year; another interpretation suggests the female ruler will have worries. If Ji Xu is in harmony, the person in power will be punished for this.

出箕，谷大貴，天下大旱飢，死過半。守箕，中國有大兵，執政者當之；若守之七日以內，禍災起，若有疾風解之。守箕，若角動，色黑，貴者有棄損，自戮死，守箕，歲大旱，大災，萬物不成。

From the mansion of Ji Xu, it indicates that grain prices will be very high, there will be a great drought and famine across the country, with more than half the people dying. If the mansion of Ji Xu is guarded, it signifies major military conflicts in the central plains, and the consequences will fall upon those in power. Guarding the mansion of Ji Xu signifies a severe drought in the same year, with great disasters and failure of crops.

石氏曰：“辰星犯南斗，為赦。”巫咸曰：“辰星入南斗口中，大臣誅；一曰不用眾而有天下。”郗萌曰：“辰星入南斗，天下受爵祿；期六十日，若九十日。”《文曜鉤》曰：“辰星之南斗，天下大水，五穀傷，人民飢。辰星居南斗河戍間，道不通。”

The six stars of the Southern Dipper are located at the head of the Black Tortoise in the north, representing the heavenly repository of rank and salary, and also governing lifespan. Shi Shen said: If the planet Mercury invades the Southern Dipper, it signifies a great amnesty. Wu Xian said: If Mercury enters the mouth of the Southern Dipper, it indicates that high officials will be executed; another interpretation suggests that one can gain the whole world without involving the masses. Xi Meng said: If Mercury enters the Southern Dipper, it signifies that all people will receive titles and salaries; the predicted time is either sixty or ninety days. The Wen Yao Gou said: If Mercury reaches the Southern Dipper, it indicates great floods across the country, damage to the five grains, and hunger among the people. If Mercury stops between the Southern Dipper and the star Shu in the Milky Way, it indicates that roads will be blocked.

《黃帝占》曰：“辰星守斗，有兵；赤而角，天下敗；白而大，裂地，相賂為和；黑而小，其國亡。”石氏曰：“辰星守南斗，在北，民凍死；在西，虎狼多入邑；在南，狗多死；在東，女子多死。”劉向《洪範傳》曰：“辰星守南斗，不可舉事；用兵必受其殃。”

The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: When the water star is stationed at the Southern Dipper, there will be military affairs; if the star appears red with bright rays, it indicates the downfall of the whole world; if it is white and large in appearance, it signifies the division of land and the exchange of wealth for peace; if it is black and small, it indicates the destruction of the country in its region. Shi Shen says: When the water star is stationed at the Southern Dipper, if it is stationed to the north of the Dipper, there will be many people freezing to death; if it is stationed to the west, there will be frequent incursions of tigers and wolves into cities; if it is stationed to the south, there will be many dogs dying; if it is stationed to the east, there will be many women dying. Liu Xiang's "Hongan Transmission" says: When the water star is stationed at the Southern Dipper, great undertakings should not be initiated; if there is military action, it will surely bring calamity.

甘氏曰：“辰星守南斗，若角動，色青黑，萬民大死，橋樑不通，天下水起。辰星失次守南斗，所守者誅。”郗萌曰：“守南斗，有兵；易正朔。”陳卓曰：“辰星守南斗，萬物不成，五穀傷。”石氏曰：“辰星犯南斗，留守之，破軍殺將。”司馬彪《天文志》曰：“辰星犯南斗，有戮將；若有死相。”

If the water star loses its proper position and guards the Southern Dipper, it indicates that the people in the corresponding region will be executed. Xi Meng said: Guarding the Southern Dipper indicates military affairs; there will be a change in the calendar and the beginning of the year. Chen Zhuo said: When the water star guards the Southern Dipper, it indicates that all things will not be completed and the five grains will be harmed. Shi Shen said: When the water star invades and stays at the Southern Dipper, it indicates that the army will be defeated and generals will be killed. Si Ma Biao's "Continued Book of Han: Records of Astronomy" said: When the water star invades the Southern Dipper, it indicates that generals will be killed or that the prime minister will die.

郗萌曰：“辰星乘牽牛，為人相棄於道。”陳卓曰：“辰星乘牽牛，穀貴；天下大水。”巫咸曰：“辰星守牽牛，為五穀不成。”《感精符》曰：“辰星守牽牛，國以水為敗，犧牲疫，牛多死。”《春秋緯》曰：“辰星守牽牛，牛先賤，後貴。”

Tian Niu is the same as Niu Xu, consisting of six stars, which preside over the sacrificial animals used in worship, and also oversee bridges, roads, and crossings. Xi Meng said: When the water star is eclipsing Tian Niu, it indicates people abandoning each other on the roads. Chen Zhu said: When the water star is eclipsing Tian Niu, it signifies high grain prices and great flooding across the land. Wu Xian said: When the water star is stationed at Tian Niu, it indicates that the five grains will not mature. The "Gan Jing Fu" said: When the water star is stationed at Tian Niu, it indicates that the country will fail due to water disasters, the sacrificial animals will suffer from disease, and cattle will die in large numbers. The "Chun Qiu Wei" said: When the water star is stationed at Tian Niu, it indicates that the price of cattle will first be low and then high.

石氏曰：“辰星守牽牛，水湧為敗，大牛多死。辰星守牽牛，民有自賣者；歲多水災，萬物不成，五穀傷；一曰地氣洩，貴人多死。”甘氏曰：“辰星守牽牛，有犧牲之事；若使人以四足蟲為虎來者；色青、有病；色黑、有死喪。”《海中占》曰：“辰星守牽牛，歲多水；民歸兵陵，齊燕尤甚。”

Shi Shen said: When the water star is in the Ox mansion, it indicates great floods will arise causing disaster, and a large number of cattle will die. When the water star is in the Ox mansion, it also indicates that people will sell themselves into slavery; there will be much flooding that year, and all things will not mature, with crops being damaged. Another interpretation says this is a sign of the earth's energy leaking out, and many noblemen will die. Gan De said: When the water star is in the Ox mansion, there will be sacrifices involving animals, since the Ox mansion naturally presides over sacrifices. Alternatively, someone may mistake a four-legged animal or beast for a tiger and report it. If the star appears blue, there will be disease; if it appears black, there will be death and mourning. The "Sea Divination" says: When the water star is in the Ox mansion, there will be much flooding that year; people will be forced to join the army or flee to high ground to escape the water, especially severe in the areas of Qi and Yan.

郗萌曰：“辰星守牽牛，民人死喪；一曰穀貴，民多流亡。”《荊州占》曰：“辰星守牽牛，關梁不通。”陳卓曰：“辰星守牽牛，臣謀其主。”甘氏曰：“辰星犯牽牛，留守之，為有破軍殺將。”陳卓曰：“辰星犯牽牛，湧水出。”

Xi Meng said: The planet Water is stationed at the Ox Mansion, indicating that there will be deaths among the common people and mourning; another interpretation suggests that grain prices will become very high, leading to the mass migration of the people. The "Jingzhou Divination" states: When the planet Water is stationed at the Ox Mansion, it indicates that the passageways and bridges will be blocked, which corresponds exactly to the Ox Mansion's domain over the passageways, bridges, and river crossings. Chen Zhuo said: When the planet Water invades and stays at the Ox Mansion, it indicates that ministers will plot against the sovereign. Gan De said: When the planet Water invades the Ox Mansion and stays there, it indicates that the army will be defeated and generals will be killed. Chen Zhuo also said: When the planet Water invades the Ox Mansion, it indicates that there will be sudden flooding and water disasters.

《北官候》曰：“辰常以冬朝牽牛，當朝不朝，名曰失律；二時不朝，名曰失政；三時不期，五穀不登。”郗萌曰：“辰星急過牽牛一度，過水一動；二度，過水二動；二度，過水三動；四度，過水四動；五度，過水小出；六度，過水大出，地為之動。”

The Northern Officials' Manual says: The water star governs the north and winter, so it usually meets at the constellation Niuzhu during winter. If it fails to meet when it should, it is called "losing the rhythm"; if it fails to meet in two periods, it is called "losing the governance"; if it fails to meet in three periods, it indicates that the five grains will not mature. Xi Meng says: When the water star swiftly passes through the constellation Niuzhu once, water moves once; passing through twice, water moves twice; passing through another two degrees, water moves three times; passing through four degrees, water moves four times; passing through five degrees, water slightly surges; passing through six degrees, water greatly surges, and the earth consequently trembles.

《黃帝占》曰：“辰星守須女，其國當有娶婦、嫁女之事，若他國來貢女者；一曰兵起，大臣當之。”石氏曰：“辰星守須女，為有女喪。”巫咸曰：“辰星守須女，為萬物不成。”《海中占》曰：“天下水雨，無濟者，至關東盡然。”郗萌曰：“為后夫人有變妾為主；一曰為大水且至，若守須女南，其地數被火；守其北，數被水。”

Wu Xian says that when the water star is in the constellation Su Nu, all things will not be completed. The "Divination of the Sea" states that this presages heavy rain causing floods, making it impossible to cross, and this situation will occur from beyond the Pass of Hangu to the east. Xi Meng says that this presages changes in the empress and concubines, with a concubine rising to become the principal wife; another interpretation suggests a great flood is coming. If the water star is located to the south of Su Nu, that area will suffer frequent fires; if it is located to the north, that area will suffer frequent floods.

石氏曰：“辰星犯守須女，女主御世，天下大赦，其國驚水，國大亂。”《荊州占》曰：“天下多寡女；若子死，繒帛貴。”陳卓曰：“天下有雨災，萬物不成，國飢，民多疾。”陳卓曰：“辰星逆行留犯守陵須女，天子及大臣有變，必有奇政令。”

Shi Shen said: When the water star invades and stays in Su Nu, it indicates that a female ruler will take control of the country, and the country will implement a great amnesty. There will be water disasters disturbing the country, and great chaos within the country. The "Jingzhou Divination" says: This indicates many women living alone in the country; if there is the death of children, then the price of silk and silk cloth will be high. Chen Zhuo said: This indicates rain disasters in the country, with all things not growing properly, leading to famine in the country and many people suffering from illness. Chen Zhuo also said: When the water star moves backward, stays, invades, remains, or presses upon Su Nu, it indicates that there will be changes between the emperor and ministers, and there will certainly be extraordinary government orders.

《洛書》曰：“辰星犯虛，大臣為謀主，有兵起，其國必敗。”甘氏曰：“辰星犯虛，其邦多水災。”《洛書》曰：“辰星躍入虛，有兵起。”《文曜鉤》曰：“辰星躍入虛，得所欲。”巫咸曰：“辰星入虛中，伺其出日而數之，期二十日，為兵發；伺始入處之率，一日期十日，軍罷。”

Wu Xian says: When the water star enters Xu Su, one should wait for the days until it exits, calculating a period of twenty days for military actions; also, according to the position where it first enters, each day corresponds to ten days, and the army will disband.

郗萌曰：“辰星入虛，為有德。”《春秋緯》曰：“辰星之虛，兵起；大水出。”郗萌曰：“辰星在虛東，春水；虛南，夏水；虛西，秋水，虛北，冬雷、雨水。”《黃帝占》曰：“辰星守虛，雨水常降，流溢滂；其國失綱，人民流亡。”石氏曰：“辰星守虛，國內亂；一曰政急，天下大亂；天下虛，大人憂。”

The "Spring Annals Brocade" says: When the water star reaches the Emptiness mansion, it signifies military affairs will arise; great floods will erupt suddenly. Xi Meng said: When the water star is east of the Emptiness mansion, it indicates there will be water in spring; when it is south of the Emptiness mansion, it indicates there will be water in summer; when it is west of the Emptiness mansion, it indicates there will be water in autumn; when it is north of the Emptiness mansion, it indicates there will be thunder and rain in winter, causing floods. This is determined by matching the four directions with the four seasons. The "Yellow Emperor's Divination" says: When the water star guards the Emptiness mansion, it indicates constant rain, leading to flooding and overflowing; the country under its influence loses order, and the people flee. Shi Shen said: When the water star guards the Emptiness mansion, it indicates internal disorder in the country; another interpretation says the government's decrees are harsh and urgent, leading to chaos throughout the land; also taking the meaning of "Emptiness," it indicates the world is empty, and the nobleman will have worries.

甘氏曰：“辰星守虛，若角動，青色，臣有欺君者；有兵，有喪於國內。”《海中占》曰：“辰星守虛，有兵災；丁壯行徭，妻子獨居，萬室虛；一曰春旱秋水，五穀不成。”郗萌曰：“辰星守虛，有武臣誅，國必亡；一曰中山水出，人民無所居，從山而處，災生日並見。”《荊州占》曰：“辰星犯乘虛，若冬守其陽，色赤黃，旱；萬物不成，亂兵起。”

Gan De said: When the water star is stationed at the mansion of Emptiness, if the star's light flickers and turns green, it indicates that ministers and officials will deceive the sovereign; there will be military affairs, and there will be domestic calamities. The book of Sea Divination says: When the water star is stationed at the mansion of Emptiness, there will be military disasters; all young men will be conscripted for forced labor, while their wives remain alone at home, leaving ten thousand households empty and deserted; another interpretation says that in spring there will be drought and in autumn floods, and the five grains will not mature. Xi Meng said: When the water star is stationed at the mansion of Emptiness, there will be the execution of military officials, and the country will surely perish; another interpretation says that there will be flooding in the area of Zhongshan, and the people will have nowhere to live, so they will have to live by the mountains, with calamities and solar eclipses occurring together. The book of Jingzhou Divination says: When the water star invades and presses upon the mansion of Emptiness, if it is stationed in its yang position during winter and the star's color is red and yellow, it indicates drought; all things will not mature, and rebellious troops will rise.

《荊州占》曰：“辰星犯入危，奸臣謀主；一曰天下大亂，若賊臣起。”巫咸曰：“辰星之危，霖雨百日，其國大水，五穀不成，人民飢。”石氏曰：“辰星守危，糴大貴；天下起兵，兵大發。”

The three stars of the mansion of danger are located east of the mansion of emptiness. They preside over the treasury star, the market star, and the construction of houses. There are also four stars representing tombs nearby. The "Jingzhou Divination" states that if the water star intrudes upon and offends the mansion of danger, it indicates that a wicked minister plots against the sovereign; another interpretation suggests great chaos in the country or the rise of a rebellious minister. Wu Xian says that if the water star reaches the mansion of danger, it signifies continuous heavy rain for a hundred days, and the country corresponding to this mansion will suffer great floods, with poor harvests of grain and people suffering from hunger. Shi Shen says that if the water star stays at the mansion of danger, it indicates that grain prices will be very high; there will be military actions, and large-scale warfare will occur.

甘氏曰：“辰星守危，大臣有戮刑，法官有憂；一曰皇后憂病，兵喪並起。”《海中占》曰：“辰星守危，天下兵大發。”郗萌曰：“其國破危；一曰為大人蓋屋事；若逆行守危，其君簡祭祀。”陳卓曰：“辰星犯守危，國多水災。”郗萌曰：“辰星守墳墓，為人主有哭泣之事。”

Gan De said: When the planet Water Star is stationed at the mansion of Wei Xu, it indicates that high officials will suffer capital punishment, and officials in charge of law will have worries; another interpretation says that the empress will be troubled and ill, and military conflicts and funerals will occur together. The Sea in the Middle Divination says: When the planet Water Star is stationed at the mansion of Wei Xu, it indicates great military disturbances throughout the country. Xi Meng said: It indicates that the country corresponding to the mansion of Wei Xu will suffer destruction and decline, which is based on the meaning of the character 'wei'; another interpretation says that noblemen will have affairs concerning the construction of houses, because the mansion of Wei Xu originally governs the building of houses; if the planet Water Starretrograde and is stationed at the mansion of Wei Xu, it indicates that the king of the country will be negligent in worship. Chen Zhuo said: When the planet Water Star offends and is stationed at the mansion of Wei Xu, it indicates that the country will suffer many floods. Xi Meng said: When the planet Water Star is stationed near the four stars of the tomb of the mansion of Wei Xu, it indicates that the sovereign will have matters concerning mourning and crying.

郗萌曰：“辰星犯營室，為土功事；犯陽、陽有急；犯陰，陰有急。”《黃帝占》曰：“辰星入營室，天下兵乘水欲攻王侯之國，不出百二十日。”《春秋圖》曰：“辰星之營室，天下徭役，民不寧其處。”甘氏曰：“辰星守營室，其色青，宮中女多有死者，大人憂；一旬，三月相近；三旬，五月國君死。”

Camp and Mansion refers to the two stars of the constellation, which is the retreat palace of the Son of Heaven, mainly associated with the construction of palaces and buildings. Xi Meng said: When the water star invades Camp and Mansion, there will be matters concerning construction and building; if it invades its yang position, there will be urgent difficulties in the yang direction; if it invades its yin position, there will be urgent difficulties in the yin direction. The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: When the water star enters Camp and Mansion, it indicates that the army of the whole world will travel by boat, using the water's momentum to attack the states of the princes, and this will happen within 120 days. The Spring and Autumn Diagram says: When the water star reaches Camp and Mansion, it signifies a great mobilization of labor, and the people will be unable to live in peace. Gan De said: When the water star guards Camp and Mansion, if the star appears blue, it indicates many deaths among women in the palace and worries for the nobleman; if it guards for ten days, the fulfillment of the prophecy will be close to three months; if it guards for thirty days, the king will die within five months.

巫咸曰：“辰星守營室，多水災，五穀不成。”郗萌曰：“徭役起；一曰后夫人憂，有大喪；一曰守營室東壁北，關梁不通；又曰守營室，為大人忌，以赦令解之。”《玄冥》曰：“辰星守營室，大兵乘船；大水欲入侯王之國，不出四十日。”《百二十占》曰：“天下諸侯發動於西北。”《聖洽符》曰：“犯守營室中，女有夭死者，大人有土功之事。”

Wu Xian said: When the water star is stationed in the Encampment Mansion, it indicates frequent flooding disasters, and the five grains will not mature. Xi Meng said: It indicates the rise of forced labor; another interpretation says the Empress Consort will have worries and a great mourning; another says when the water star is stationed in the northern part of the Encampment Mansion and East Wall, it indicates the obstruction of passes and bridges; also, when the water star is stationed in the Encampment Mansion, it is an ominous celestial phenomenon disliked by noblemen, which can be dispelled by issuing an amnesty decree. The "Xuan Ming" said: When the water star is stationed in the Encampment Mansion, it indicates a large army coming by boat; a great flood will enter the territory of the princes and kings, not exceeding forty days. The "Bai Er Shí Zhàn" said: It indicates the feudal lords launching military actions from the Northwest. The "Sheng Qia Fu" said: When the water star violates and is stationed in the Encampment Mansion, it indicates the death of a young woman, and noblemen will have construction projects involving earth and wood, which still relates to the original mansion of the Encampment Mansion's construction.
