Wu Xian also said: When Mars confronts and guards the Accumulated Water star, the things produced in the water will not mature, and the prices of fish and salt will rise. Another interpretation is that due to water causing disasters, rice prices will soar, leading to hunger among the people, and this will occur within two years.

Xi Meng said: When Mars stays at Ji Xin, it indicates frequent fires or fire-related events, along with drought and military conflicts. Gan De said: When Mars confronts and stays at Ji Xin, it indicates a great drought across the land, poor harvests of grain, and the suffering of the people with hunger and migration.

《荊州占》曰：“熒惑守水位，下田不治。”石氏曰：“熒惑犯守水位，天下以水為害，津關不通；一曰大水入城郭傷人民，皆不出二年。”

The Sea Divination says: When Mars remains at Xuanyuan for more than fifteen days, it indicates a large-scale military conflict, anxiety among palace officials, chaos throughout the land, and changes in state policies, which will occur within three years.

The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: If Mars enters, conflicts with, dominates, or stays at Xiaowei, the prime minister will change. In the eleventh month of the ninth year, the governor of Taiyuan Liu Wei and the governor of Jingzhou Li Hao were both executed and beheaded. In the first year of Yongkang, in December, the Grand Tutor Chen Fan, the Grand General Dou Wu, the Minister of the Secretariat Yin Xun, and the Director of the Yellow Gate Mountain Bing were all wrongfully executed.)

郗萌曰：“熒惑犯左右執法，左右執法者，誅若有罪。”陳卓曰：“熒惑犯太微東南陬星，天下大飢，近期一年，遠期五年。”《荊州占》曰：“熒惑道，從太微西蕃北南方星間入，到南蕃東方星間出道；中西蕃直出入者，非道也。”甘氏曰：“熒惑常以十月、十一月入太微天庭受制，而出行列宿，司天道之國，罰無道之君，失禮之臣，若犯左相，左相誅；犯右相，右相誅，守宮三旬，必有赦，期六十日。”

The effect may occur within one year, or it may take five years. The "Jingzhou Divination" states: The normal path of Mars is to enter from between the southern star of the western part of the Taimei constellation and exit between the eastern star of the southern part of the Taimei constellation. If it enters and exits directly from the center of the western part of the Taimei constellation, then it is not following its normal path. Gan De said: Mars usually enters the Taimei court in the tenth and eleventh months to receive the mandate of the Son of Heaven, then proceeds to tour the twenty-eight constellations, inspecting the virtuous states, and punishing the tyrannical kings and disrespectful ministers. If it conflicts with the Left Minister star, the Left Minister will be executed; if it conflicts with the Right Minister star, the Right Minister will be executed. If Mars remains in the Taimei palace for thirty days, there will certainly be an amnesty, and the effect will occur within sixty days.

《玄冥占》曰：“熒惑常以十月丙子入太微宮七日，受制而出，行列宿，司無道之國，七日以上成災，如占。”《文曜鉤》曰：“熒惑以戊子日順入太微庭中，受使於天子，不為咎，非其日，災殃如占。”郗萌曰：“熒惑當太微門，為受制；當左執法，為受事左執法；當右執法，為受事右執法；守太微門三日以下為受制；三日以上為兵、為賊、為亂、飢。”

The Xuanming Divination says: The planet Mars usually enters the Taimei Palace on the Bingzi day of the tenth lunar month, stays for seven days, receives the mandate of the Son of Heaven, and then departs to tour the twenty-eight constellations, inspecting countries that are unjust and tyrannical; if it stays more than seven days, calamity will arise, and the prophecy will be fulfilled accordingly. The Wenyaogou says: The planet Mars enters the Taimei court smoothly on the Wuzi day, which is in accordance with the Son of Heaven's command, and does not bring misfortune; if it enters on any other day, calamity will be fulfilled according to the prophecy. Xi Meng says: When the planet Mars is directly opposite the Taimei gate, it receives the heavenly mandate; when it is directly opposite the Left Law Officer, it receives its duties from the Left Law Officer; when it is directly opposite the Right Law Officer, it receives its duties from the Right Law Officer; if it guards the Taimei gate within three days, it still signifies receiving the mandate; if it stays beyond three days, it indicates military affairs, bandits, turmoil, and famine.

The *Yellow Emperor's Divination* says: When Mars enters the celestial court (i.e., the Taimei Enclosure), if the star appears white and moist with a bright glow, the predicted time is one hundred and eighty days, and there will be an amnesty. The *Emperor's Enjoyment* says: When Mars enters the Taimei Enclosure and exits through the main gate, the ruler's ministers will not abide by their proper conduct. 《聖洽符》曰：“熒惑入太微庭中央，帝族相攻伐，天子憂；若守端門，臣謀弒君；若留止門外，大臣戮死。熒惑入太微庭中，天倉閉，婦女不得食，天下饑荒。”郗萌曰：“熒惑入天庭，在屏南出門，扉左，左將死；出門扉左，右將死；直出無為。”《合誠圖》曰：“熒惑入華闕門，臣殺之候也。熒惑入庭中，臣多逆，不軌。”（司馬彪《天文志》曰：孝靈光和五年四月，熒惑在太微中守屏，占曰：熒惑入太微，為亂臣，是時中常侍趙忠、張讓、郭勝，孫璋等並奸亂也。）

The Hecheng Tu says: When Mars enters the central gate of Zhonghua, it is a sign of ministers killing the sovereign. When Mars enters the court, it indicates that many ministers will rebel and act against the law. 石氏曰：“熒惑入太微中華東西門，若左右掖門，而南出端門者，為必有反臣。熒惑入太微西門，出東門，臣謀其主，人君不安，欲求賢佐，有入中華西門，出中華東門，為臣出令；有入太陰西門，出太陰東門，為天下大亂；有喪，若水大。熒惑若入中華西門，天子憂之；若出中華東門，天下大亂，兵大起，期不出二年。”

Shi Shen said: If the planet Mars enters from the eastern gate or western gate of Taiwei, or from the left or right gates, and exits to the south through the end gate, there will certainly be a rebellious minister. If Mars enters from the western gate of Taiwei and exits through the eastern gate, it indicates that ministers plot against the king, the king cannot rest in his seat, and urgently seeks capable ministers for assistance. If Mars enters from the western gate of Zhonghua and exits through the eastern gate, it signifies that ministers act independently and issue orders on their own. If Mars enters from the western gate of Taiyin and exits through the eastern gate of Taiyin, it indicates great chaos throughout the land, calamity, or a major flood. If Mars enters from the western gate of Zhonghua, the emperor will be troubled. If it exits through the eastern gate of Zhonghua, it signifies great chaos and large-scale warfare, with the event occurring within two years.

甘氏曰：“熒惑出太微天庭中，有立王；若徙王。”郗萌曰：“熒惑出天庭中，當道而為勾巳天庭，天下更紀。”（《宋天文志》曰：“晉安帝義熙十四年十月癸已熒惑入太微，犯西蕃上將，仍順行至左掖門。留二十日，乃逆行，元熙元年三月五日，出西蕃上將西三尺許。又陡還入太微時填星在太微，繞填星成勾巳。其年四月二十七日丙戍。從端門出，占曰：熒惑填星勾巳天庭，天下更紀。二年六月，晉帝遜位。高祖入宮也。）

Xi Meng said: When the planet Mars emerges from the celestial court, it is moving along the correct path but winding within the celestial court in the shape of "gou si", indicating a change of dynasty and the reestablishment of a new era. (The original book's note cites the "Astronomical Records" of the "Book of Song": In the fourteenth year of Emperor An of Eastern Jin's Yixi era, on the tenth month, on the day of Guisi, the planet Mars entered the Taimei, and attacked the western wall's Upper General Star. Then it moved forward to the Left Gate, staying for twenty days before turning back. In the first year of Yuanxi, on the fifth day of the third month, it exited to the west of the Upper General Star on the western wall, about three feet away, then suddenly turned back and reentered the Taimei. At that time, the planet Saturn ("Tianxing") was in the center of Taimei, and the planet Mars wound around the planet Saturn in the shape of "gou si". 郗萌曰：“熒惑入太微西門，犯天庭、出端門，為臣伐主，入西門，而折出右掖門，為大臣假主之威，而不從主命。熒惑入西華門，出端門，為臣詐稱詔。熒惑入太微端門，出東門，為貴者奪威勢。”《荊州占》曰：“熒惑出門微南門，執法用大事；出械掖門，大臣誅。”（司馬彪《天文志》曰：孝安延光二年八月巳亥，熒惑出太微端門，是時大將軍耿寶中常侍江京等譖太子乳母王男，廚監邴吉等，殺之，徙其父母妻子日南也，九月丁酉，廢太子為濟陰王。）

If Mars enters from the Xihua gate and exits through the end gate, it indicates that a minister will forge an imperial edict. If Mars enters from the Taimei end gate and exits through the eastern gate, it signifies that the powerful ministers will seize the king's authority. The "Jingzhou Divination" says: If Mars exits from the southern gate of Taimei, it indicates that officials in charge of law will handle major cases; if it exits from the yeying gate, it signifies that a high official will be executed. (The original book's note cites Sima Biao's "Continued Book of Han: Astronomical Records" which states: In the second year of Yan Guang during Emperor An of the Eastern Han, in August, on the Jihai day, Mars exited from the end gate of Taimei. At that time, General of the Guards耿宝 and the Middle Attendant江京 falsely accused the wet nurse of the crown prince王男 and the kitchen supervisor邴吉, and had them executed, and also exiled their parents and spouses to Jinnan. In September on the Dingyou day, the crown prince was deposed and made the Prince of Jiyin.)

《黃帝占》曰：“熒惑東行入太微庭，出東門，天下有爭兵，（《宋書天文志》曰：安帝義熙十年五月癸卯，熒惑順行入太微，十一月林邑寇交州刺史杜慧度距戰於九真，大敗之。）若守將相丞御史大臣有死者；若入端門，守天庭，大禍至，入南門，出東門，國大旱；若入南逆行，出西南門，有大水，逆行入東門，出西門，大國破亡，若順入西蕃，而留不去，楚國凶殃。”

The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: If the planet Mars moves eastward into the court of Taiwei, then exits through the eastern gate, it indicates there will be warfare in the country. (The original book's note cites the "Book of the Song · Astronomical Records" which says: In the tenth year of Emperor An of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, fifth month, on the day of Guimao, Mars moved eastward into Taiwei; in the eleventh month, the Liyichu state invaded, and the governor of Jiao State, Du Hui Du, met them at Jiuzhen and defeated them greatly.) If Mars waits at the General Star, the Minister Star, the Deputy Minister Star, or the Censor Star, it indicates death among the ministers; if it enters through the end gate and stays in the heavenly court, great calamity will come; if it enters from the southern gate and exits through the eastern gate, there will be a great drought in the country; if it enters from the south and moves westward, exiting through the southwest gate, there will be a great flood; if it moves westward, enters through the eastern gate, and exits through the western gate, it indicates the downfall of a great state; if it moves eastward into the western wall and stays there, it indicates misfortune for the state of Chu.

巫咸曰：“熒惑逆行入太微天庭中，為大臣有誅，若諸侯戮死，期二年。”石氏曰：“熒惑逆行太微之中，及出左右掖門者，有逆謀，天子有命將征伐之事，一曰大赦可以解其患。”郗萌曰：“熒惑逆行，入左掖門，為臣劫其主。”（《宋書天文志》曰：晉安帝元興三年正月戊戍，熒惑逆行犯太微西垣，占曰：天子戰于野，上相死，是年二月丙辰，殺桓玄等，桓循劫帝如江陵。）

The divination text indicates that the Son of Heaven will fight in the wild and the chief minister will die. In the second month of the same year, the Huan Xuan group was killed; later, Huan Zhen seized control of Emperor An and moved him to Jiangling.)

《荊州占》曰：“熒惑逆行入太微天庭中，為諸侯將有殺上者；至黃座而成，不至黃座而還，有謀不成，以其日入占國。熒惑逆行天庭中不止，有大獄。”郗萌曰：“熒惑入太微宮中，至屏而留，有兵在中。”郗萌曰：“熒惑入天庭中，留十日以上，赦。”

The *Jingzhou Divination* says: If the planet Mars moves retrograde into the court of Taiwei, it indicates that among the feudal lords and their generals, someone will attempt to kill the sovereign. If it stops at the seat of the Yellow Emperor, the plot will succeed; if it does not reach the Yellow Emperor's seat and turns back, the plot will fail. To determine which state it will affect, one should refer to the heavenly stem and earthly branch of the day it enters. If Mars continues to move retrograde within the court of Taiwei, it signifies major legal disputes. Xi Meng says: If Mars enters the palace of Taiwei and stops at the star Ping, there will be a military mutiny within the palace. Xi Meng also says: If Mars enters the court of Taiwei and stays for more than ten days, there will be an amnesty.

《荊州占》曰：“熒惑道南蕃，入留止南門，為大臣有憂。（司馬彪《天文志》曰：光武中元，二年八月丁巳，火犯太微西南角星，相去二寸，太微西南星，為將相、後太尉趙熹，李訴等免官。）熒惑入太微，若從右入，七日以上，為人主有憂。（司馬彪《天文志》曰：孝桓永康元年正月庚寅，熒惑逆行入太微東門，留百日，出端門，其年十二月丁丑。桓帝崩。《宋書天文志》曰：晉簡文咸安元年十二月辛卯，熒惑逆行入大太微二年三月不退。是時帝憂桓玄之逼，常懷憂慘，十二月帝崩也。）熒惑入天庭中二十日以上，延尉坐之，期六月。熒惑留太微庭中，為天下大憂；中央留十日以上，為天下有亡徒為兵者。”

Later, officials such as Taishi Zhao Xi and Li Xin were all dismissed from office.) If Mars enters Taimei from the right and stays for more than seven days, it indicates the sovereign will suffer calamity. It also cites the *Book of Song: Astronomical Records* which says: In the first year of Xian'an of Emperor Jianwen of the Eastern Jin Dynasty, in December on the day Xinmao, Mars retrograded and entered Taimei, and did not retreat until March of the second year; at that time, Emperor Jianwen was troubled by the pressure of the Huán clan, often feeling anxious, and died in December.) If Mars stays in the court of Tianting for more than twenty days, the chief justice will be punished and implicated, with the event occurring within six months. If Mars remains in the court of Taimei, it indicates great calamity for the whole country; if it stays in the center for more than ten days, it indicates that people will gather to form armies due to fleeing.

Gan De says: When Mars first stays at the Horn Mansion and Neck Mansion, then turns back to stay at Taiwei, it indicates that there are plots among ministers to raise troops against the Son of Heaven. The "Spring Annals Brocade" says: When Mars stays at Taiwei, it is deeply feared by the sovereign.

郗萌曰：“熒惑守太微，諸侯及三公謀其上，鈇鑕用，必有斬臣；又曰女主不吉。”（《宋書天文志》曰：晉元康三年四月，熒惑守太微六十日後，賈后陷殺太子，而趙王廢后，又殺之，斬張華，裴顯遂纂位，廢帝為大上皇，天下從此構亂連禍也。）《玄冥占》曰：“熒惑入太微，無所犯守，順度而行，出左右掖門，所之野，天子謀之。”

Xi Meng said: When the planet Mars stays in the Taiwei constellation, it indicates that the feudal princes and the Three Dukes are plotting against the sovereign, and the instruments of execution will be used, and certainly a high official will be beheaded. The "Xuanming Divination" says: When Mars enters the Taiwei constellation, it neither attacks nor stays, but moves in its usual course, exiting from the left and right gates. Then the region it moves toward is the one where the Son of Heaven is planning to act.

《黃帝占》曰：“熒惑干太微，留守三日以上，為必有兵革，天下赦。”《合誠圖》曰：“熒惑入太微，陵犯留止，後三年，必有喪。”《荊州占》曰：“熒惑入太微天庭，所犯乘守者，若有罪，各以守官名之。熒惑食太微東西蕃，四輔輔臣有誅者。”

The Jingzhou Divination says: If Mars enters the Taiwei court, any star that is confronted, overpowered, or guarded by Mars will correspond to a person who will be punished, and each star will be matched with the official title it represents. If Mars obscures the stars of the eastern and western walls of Taiwei, it indicates that the ministers assisting the four assistants will be executed.

石氏曰：“熒惑犯黃帝座，改政易王，天下亂，存亡半。”甘氏曰：“熒惑入中華門，犯帝座，天下亂，賊臣害主，破宮；期九十日。”《荊州占》曰：“熒惑犯黃帝座，大臣戮死。”《玉曆》曰：“熒惑入太陰西門，犯黃帝座，天子宮破國滅絕嗣，不出二年。”甘氏曰：“熒惑中黃帝座，臣殺其主。”《雒罪級》曰：“熒惑入黃帝座，不吉；強臣弒主。”甘氏曰：“熒惑入黃帝座，大人戮死，朝廷有哭。”

Shi Shen said: The planet Mars (Feng Huo) conflicting with the Yellow Emperor's seat (a single star located at the center of the Taimei Enclosure, symbolizing the emperor himself) indicates a change in government policies, a replacement of the ruler, great chaos throughout the country, with half of the people surviving and half perishing. Gan De said: When the planet Mars enters from the Central Gate and conflicts with the Yellow Emperor's seat, it indicates great chaos, ministers plotting against the ruler, the palace being attacked, and the event will occur within ninety days. The Jiangzhou Divination says: When the planet Mars conflicts with the Yellow Emperor's seat, it indicates the death of high-ranking ministers. The Jade Calendar says: When the planet Mars enters from the western gate of Taiyin and conflicts with the Yellow Emperor's seat, it indicates the destruction of the emperor's palace, the collapse of the state, and the extinction of the royal lineage, which will happen within two years. Gan De said: When the planet Mars directly conflicts with the Yellow Emperor's seat, it indicates that a powerful minister will kill the ruler. Gan De also said: When the planet Mars enters the Yellow Emperor's seat, it is an ominous sign, indicating the death of a person of high status and mourning sounds in the court.

郗萌曰：“熒惑入天庭直出，期十日，入蕃期二十日，去出尺，期十日，用赦。”《荊州占》曰：“熒惑入帝座，其色白者，為有赦。熒惑入天庭，至黃帝座，有赦。”《荊州占》曰：“熒惑近黃帝座北，諸侯徙，天子辱；若中黃帝座，為大人傷。”甘氏曰：“熒惑近黃帝座，大臣謀，為亂不成。熒惑觸黃帝座，主亡。”《黃帝占》曰：“熒惑守黃帝座，為大人憂。”

Gan De said: When Mars approaches the throne of the Yellow Emperor, it indicates that the ministers have plots in their hearts, but the rebellion will not succeed. When Mars touches the throne of the Yellow Emperor, it indicates that the ruler will perish. The "Yellow Emperor Divination" says: When Mars guards the throne of the Yellow Emperor, it indicates that a person of high rank will have worries.

《玉曆》曰：“熒惑入太微，犯四帝，臣有謀，若被誅。”石氏曰：“熒惑犯守四帝，臣謀主，去之一尺，事不成。”石氏曰：“熒惑犯乘守四帝坐，闢憂。”（闢君也。）甘氏曰：“熒惑中犯乘守四帝坐，天下亡。”

Shi Shen said: The planet Mars directly confronts, confronts, overshadows, and guards the Ping Star, indicating that the sovereign and ministers have lost decorum, and the ministers in charge of assisting the sovereign will be executed or dismissed.

甘氏曰：“熒惑犯守郎位，輔臣有誅，左右宿衛者為亂，王者宜備之。”

巫咸曰：“熒惑守郎將，曰凌，凌則將有誅，若將有憂；一曰大臣為亂，戒慎左右。”《荊州占》曰：“熒惑犯乘守郎將，且有以符節為奸者。熒惑中犯乘守郎將，必有不還之使。”

Wu Xian said: When Mars is in conjunction with the General Star (the General Star is one star located north of the position of the Officer, symbolizing the Tiger贲 Middle General who commands the officers), it is called "ling" (to encroach). If Mars encroaches, it indicates that the general will be executed or suffer misfortune; another interpretation suggests that ministers will rebel, and the sovereign should be cautious about the attendants around him. The "Jingzhou Divination" states: When Mars confronts, encroaches upon, or occupies the position of the General Star, there will be someone using a seal to commit wicked deeds. If Mars directly confronts, encroaches upon, or occupies the position of the General Star, there will certainly be envoys who go out but do not return.

甘氏曰：“熒惑犯守常陳，守衛有謀，兵起宮中，天子自出行，誅，期百八十日，遠一年。”

《玉曆》曰：“熒惑入犯上臺司命，近臣有罪，若有誅，一曰近臣有逃去者，以五色占：黃白、無故；青黑，憂死喪；期一年。”郗萌曰：“熒惑犯守上臺，宮中禁門燔，太尉病，天子惡之，犯守中臺，司徒、公族、皇后忌；犯守下臺，司空為庶人；皆期百七十二日。”《文曜鉤》曰：“熒惑犯守中臺，司中奸臣有謀，若有誅者，中公當之。”巫咸曰：“熒惑犯守下臺，司祿近臣有罪，若出走；色黑者死。”

Xi Meng says: When Mars confronts and stays at the upper rank, it indicates that the palace's forbidden gates will catch fire, the Grand Minister of State will fall ill, and the emperor will be wary of this omen; when Mars confronts and stays at the middle rank, the Minister of Works, the royal family, and the empress will be subject to taboos; when Mars confronts and stays at the lower rank, the Minister of Public Works will be demoted to commoner; these occurrences are expected within 172 days. The "Wenyao Gou" says: When Mars confronts and stays at the middle rank, it indicates that there will be a traitor plotting at the position of the Director of the Middle, or someone will be executed, and the officials corresponding to the middle rank will bear the consequences. Wu Xian says: When Mars confronts and stays at the lower rank, it indicates that a close minister at the position of the Director of Wages will be punished or flee; if the color of Mars turns black, the person will die.

《黃帝占》曰：“熒惑守三臺三十日，天下大亂，兵起宮中，大臣戮死；若守三臺間，尤甚急，期百八十日。”郗萌曰：“熒惑守三臺三日以上，三公有戮死者。熒惑守三能之中央百二十日，三公皆謀，害國。熒惑入天柱，天下有慶賀之事。熒惑居天柱，兵起，三年乃止。熒惑留繫天柱，地大動，兵大起。”《春秋緯》曰：“天下奮擊，臣子相譖，三公專恣；則熒惑流而觸能。”

The Spring Annals' Divination says: When there is mutual attack among the people, and ministers falsely accuse each other, and the Three Dukes abuse their power, Mars will move to offend the Star of Ranks.

石氏曰：“熒惑犯相星，輔臣凶。熒惑守相星三十日，大臣為亂，天下兵起，人主有憂。”
