The Wenyao Gou says: A guest star entering the "Tianshi Yuan" —— Tianshi Yuan is one of the three enclosures, with twenty-two stars arranged like a wall, representing the heavenly market, which governs trade and the gathering of people —— indicates a large-scale military campaign, with weapons such as axes and halberds being used. Among the ministers, some will be executed. This will come to pass within a year or, at the furthest, within three years. The Shi school says: When a guest star enters Tianshi Yuan, if its color is black, the official in charge of the market will die. The Shi school also says: When a guest star enters Tianshi Yuan, if its color is yellow or white, the official in charge of the market will suffer misfortune; if it is black, he will die. The occurrence of the guest star on a particular day branch determines which state will be affected. The Shi school also says: When a guest star enters Tianshi Yuan, all the people living there will be displaced, some will be unable to till the land and sustain themselves, and large-scale warfare will spread everywhere. This will come to pass within three years.

石氏曰：“客星入天市，大臣誅，有戮卿；一曰：有戮王，皆期一年，遠三年。”（按班固《天文志》曰：孝宣地節元年七月癸酉，客星入天市，芒炎東南指，其色白，是時楚王延壽謀逆自殺。地節二年，故將軍翟告夫人顯，將軍霍禹、范明友、奉車霍山及諸昆弟嬪婚為侍中，諸曹、九卿、郡守皆謀反，夷族，伏其辜也。）

(Original book note: According to Ban Gu's "Book of Han · Astronomical Records," in the first year of Dijie of Emperor Xuandi of Han, in July on the day of Guiyou, the guest star entered the Heavenly Market, its light pointing to the southeast, with a white color. At that time, the Prince of Chu, Liu Yanshou, plotted rebellion and committed suicide. In the second year of Dijie, the case of a former general's family was exposed. The lady consort Xian, General Hou Yu, Fan Mingyou, and Fu Che Duwei Hou Shan, along with the brothers of the Hou family and those who were married to them and held the position of Attendant, as well as various officials, nine ministers, and governors, all plotted rebellion and were finally exterminated, their crimes being punished.)

郄萌曰：“客星入市中，兵犯外城。”郄萌曰：“客星入天市中，糴石三百，居市門者石五百五十，亦曰遊市旁者石百。”郄萌曰：“赤星入天市，棄市滿天下。”郄萌曰：“黃白星入天市。嗇夫不遷即賜。”郄萌曰：“客星遁，或若填星所發，入市中而出外，死罪復生。”郄萌曰：“赤星長尋，集天市中，有兵。”郄萌曰：“青黑星出天市，嗇夫不死即免。”

Xie Meng said: A guest star entering the Heavenly Market indicates enemy troops attacking the outer city. Xie Meng also said: A guest star entering the Heavenly Market causes grain prices to rise to three hundred coins per stone; those that remain at the market gate reach five hundred and fifty coins per stone; some say those that wander around the market side are only one hundred coins per stone. Xie Meng also said: A red guest star entering the Heavenly Market results in people who are executed and left to be displayed on the streets being found all over the country. Xie Meng also said: A yellow-white guest star entering the Heavenly Market means the market officials will either be promoted or rewarded. Xie Meng also said: When a guest star disappears or appears as if the planet of earth (Saturn) does, entering the Heavenly Market and then exiting to the outside of the market, those who have been sentenced to death will be given a second chance at life. Xie Meng also said: A red guest star that is as long as a measure (one 'seek' is about 1.8 meters) and gathers in the Heavenly Market indicates military conflict. 司馬彪《天文志》曰：“孝靈中平五年六月丁卯。客星如三升梡，出貫索西南，南行入天市，至尾。占曰：為貴人喪。明年四月，宮車晏駕。”謝承《後漢書》曰：“吳郡周敞師事京房，房為石顯所諧，繫獄，謂敞曰：吾死後三十日，客星必出天市，即吾無辜也。後果如言，敞上書陳其枉。”

In the "Astronomical Records" section of Sima Biao's "Continued Book of Han," it is recorded that in the fifth year of the Zhongping era of Emperor Ling of Han, on the Dingmao day of the sixth month, a guest star appeared, as big as a wooden bowl with a capacity of three sheng. It emerged from the southwest of Guansuo and moved southward into Tianshi, continuing until it reached the Tail Mansion. The divination text said that this indicated a person of high status would suffer a death. In the following year, in the fourth month, Emperor Ling died. Xie Cheng's "Later Han Book" records that a man from Wu Commandery named Zhou Chang studied under Jing Fang. Jing Fang was falsely accused by Shi Xian and imprisoned. Before his death, he told Zhou Chang: thirty days after my death, a guest star will definitely appear in Tianshi, which will be proof that I was wrongfully accused and innocent. Later, this indeed happened as he had predicted, and Zhou Chang submitted a memorial to state his case.

《荊州占》曰：“客星出入天市，旗兵大起，大將斬。”《玄冥》曰：“客星出天市，執令者死，大臣誅，有貴人多市死者，期二年。”郄萌曰：“客星入若守天市，執令者死。”郄萌曰：“太白星入若守天市，天下亂。” 郄萌曰：“太白星入若守天市，度量不平，市亂。”

The *Jingzhou Divination* says: When the guest star enters or exits the Heavenly Market, banners and armies will be mobilized on a large scale, and a general will be executed. The *Xuanming Divination* says: When the guest star passes through the Heavenly Market, those in charge of laws and regulations will die, ministers will be executed, and many prominent people will be put to death in the marketplace. This will come to pass within two years. Xie Meng says: When the guest star enters or stays in the Heavenly Market, those in charge of laws and regulations will die. Xie Meng also says: The bright star, also known as the planet of metal, when it enters or stays in the Heavenly Market, chaos will arise throughout the land. Xie Meng also says: When the bright star enters or stays in the Heavenly Market, measures and weights will no longer be fair, and the market will be in disorder.

石氏曰：“客星干犯帝座，人民大亂，官朝徙大臣，期三年。”《荊州占》曰：“客星入帝座，留不去，則有貴人變更令。”《荊州占》曰：“赤星入帝座，朝廷有兵。”《河圖帝覽嬉》曰：“客星出帝座，若守之不去，則有貴人變更法令，大臣為亂，人主不安。”

The Shi school says: A guest star encroaching upon the 'Imperial Seat' star — the Imperial Seat is a single star located at the center of the Tian Shi垣, representing the dwelling place of the heavenly emperor, corresponding to the human emperor — there will be great disorder among the people, and the court offices will need to transfer officials; this should be verified within three years. The "Jingzhou Divination" says: If a guest star enters the Imperial Seat and stays there without departing, there will be a change in policies by a prominent person. The "Jingzhou Divination" also says: If a red guest star enters the Imperial Seat, there will be a military mutiny in the court. The "Heavenly River Chart: Emperor's View and Joy" says: If a guest star exits from the Imperial Seat or remains there unwilling to leave, there will be a change in laws by a prominent person, ministers will rebel, and the sovereign will not be at peace.

《荊州占》曰：“客星入天候星，士卒罷，人有急行。”石氏曰：“客星出候星，天下亂，人民相攻，士卒出，有急行。”石氏曰：“客星守候星，候者憂。”石氏曰：“客星守候星，外客欲為主也。”《荊州占》曰：“客星守候星，天下大亂。”

The Zhongjing Zhan says: When the guest star enters the 'Tianhou' star—the 'Hou' star is one star located east of the throne—this indicates that people observe heavenly phenomena and watch for auspicious or ominous signs—soldiers are dismissed and return home, and people have urgent journeys. The Shi school says: When the guest star passes through the 'Hou' star, the whole country will be in great disorder, people attack each other, soldiers are mobilized, and there are urgent military movements. The Shi school also says: When the guest star remains in the 'Hou' star, those who are on duty for observation will have worries. The Shi school also says: When the guest star remains in the 'Hou' star, foreign guests wish to take the place of the ruler. The Zhongjing Zhan says: When the guest star remains in the 'Hou' star, the whole country will be in great disorder.

石氏曰：“客星干犯宦者，宦者滅亡。”郄萌曰：“客星舍宦者星，左右貴人有不長者。”《玉曆》曰：“客星出守宦者星，左右貴人有不廢者，不能守其貴；一曰：有讓位者。”

The Shi school says: A guest star encroaching upon the 'Eunuch' star — the four Eunuch stars are located west of the Imperial Seat, governing palace attendants — eunuchs will suffer destruction. Xie Meng says: When a guest star remains stationed at the Eunuch star, among the prominent officials close to the monarch, there will be those who cannot maintain their positions for long. The Jade Calendar says: When a guest star emerges from and remains at the Eunuch star, the prominent officials close to the monarch, even if not dismissed, will not be able to retain their status; another interpretation suggests that there will be someone who will relinquish their position.

《河圖聖洽符》曰：“客星出宗人，帝族親多死者；一曰：王者不親宗族。”郄萌曰：“客星舍宗人，留不去，有貴人死者。”

The *River Chart Sacred Harmony Symbol* says: A guest star follows the 'Clan' star and emerges from it—the four stars of the Clan are located southwest of the Clan Star, indicating the royal family's relatives and ancestral rites—there are many deaths among the royal clan; another interpretation suggests the king does not closely relate to his own clan. Xie Meng says: If the guest star stays in the Clan and does not move, there will be the death of a prominent person.

《荊州占》曰：“客星守宗正，更號令。”甘氏曰：“客星出宗正，守之不去，左右宗族倖臣多死，不出其年。”

The *Jingzhou Divination* says: A guest star remains at the 'Zongzheng' star — the two Zongzheng stars are located to the southeast of the Imperial Seat, symbolizing the official in charge of imperial family affairs — the court will change its decrees. The Gan school says: A guest star emerges from the Zongzheng and stays there unwilling to depart, indicating many deaths among the royal family and favored ministers in the vicinity of the ruler, and this will come to pass within the year.

《聖洽符》曰：“客星出宗星，帝族親多死者；一曰：王者不親宗族。”石氏曰：“客星守宗星，宗人不和。”

The Shengqia Fu states: A guest star follows the 'Zong Star' and emerges from it—the Zong Stars are two stars located to the east of the waiting star, indicating matters concerning the ancestral temple and the royal family—there are many deaths among the royal relatives; another interpretation suggests the king does not get close to his own clan. The Shi school says: the guest star remains at the Zong Star, and people within the clan are not harmonious with each other.

齊伯曰：“客星出東西咸，女主自恣，若淫泆；一曰：貴人女有憂，若有黜者，不出其年。”《荊州占》曰：“客星守東西咸，人主淫泆失道。”

Qi Bo said: A guest star emerging from the 'East Xian' and 'West Xian' indicates that the East Xian and West Xian each consist of four stars, positioned on the north and south sides of the Fang Su, which are the celestial gateways for preventing licentiousness. If a female ruler is unrestrained or engages in licentious behavior, or if a woman from a prominent family faces calamity or is deposed, it will be verified within the year. The "Jingzhou Divination" states: If a guest star remains at the East Xian or West Xian, the ruler is licentious and lacks virtue, straying from the righteous path.

《黃帝占》曰：“客星入天江，河津關絕道不通；一曰：河津吏有憂。”《甄曜度》曰：“客星出天江，有大水，河海溢，津關塞，民多飢。”陳卓曰：“客星干歷天江，大兵攻王國，王者以赦除之，則國豐年。”《黃帝占》曰：“客星守天江星一日，津河吏有憂。”

The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: A guest star entering the 'Tianjiang' star — the Tianjiang consists of four stars located north of the Tail mansion, indicating river crossings and ferry points — the crossing points and passes will be cut off, roads will be blocked; another interpretation suggests that officials in charge of ferry crossings will suffer misfortunes. The Zhenyaodu says: When a guest star exits from Tianjiang, there will be great floods, rivers, lakes, and seas overflowing, ferry crossings and checkpoints will be blocked, and the people will suffer from widespread famine. Chen Zhuo says: When a guest star invades and passes through Tianjiang, a large army will attack the kingdom; if the king uses a general amnesty to dispel this omen, the country will instead have a bountiful harvest. The Yellow Emperor's Divination also says: When a guest star remains at the Tianjiang star for one day, officials responsible for ferry crossings and river defenses will have worries.

陳卓曰：“客星干犯建星，王失道，忠言者誅，賢士逃亡。”《海中占》曰：“客星入建星，（郄萌曰：守）有熹福，谷大熟。”郄萌曰：“客星入建星，君不親其大臣。”郄萌曰：“赤星入建星，人主謀兵，兵罷；出建星，軍乃戰。”郄萌曰：“赤星入建星，津河水大出，橋樑不通。”

Chen Zhuo said: A guest star invading the "Jian Star" —— the Jian Star consists of six stars located north of the Southern Dipper, which is the heavenly gate, governing flags, drums, passes, and bridges —— the king deviates from the right path, those who speak frankly are executed, and the virtuous flee. The "Sea in the Middle Divination" says: When a guest star enters the Jian Star (note in original text: Xie Meng wrote "stay"), there will be joy and auspiciousness, and abundant harvests of grain. Xie Meng said: When a guest star enters the Jian Star, the king does not closely associate with his ministers. Xie Meng also said: A red guest star entering the Jian Star indicates that although the king is planning military action, he will ultimately abandon it. Xie Meng also said: A red guest star entering the Jian Star signifies that rivers and ferry crossings will overflow with water, and bridges will break, making passage impossible.

《海中占》曰：“客星出建星，君不親其大臣，上下相疑，主令不行。”郄萌曰：“客星舍建星，留不去，即有大兵，馬大貴。”郄萌曰：“客星守建星，人民安。”郄萌曰：“客星入守建星，人臣自臨府事。”《玄冥》曰：“客星中而守之，天下道塞，多有盜賊，關梁不通，期二年。”

The Sea Divination says: A guest star emerging from the Constellation of the Foundation indicates that the ruler does not closely associate with his ministers, and there is mutual suspicion between superiors and subordinates, so the ruler's orders cannot be effectively implemented. Xie Meng says: When a guest star stops at the Constellation of the Foundation and remains there, there will soon be major warfare and a sharp rise in the price of horses. Xie Meng also says: When a guest star remains at the Constellation of the Foundation, the people will instead be at peace. Xie Meng also says: When a guest star enters and stays at the Constellation of the Foundation, ministers will overstep their authority and personally go to the government offices to handle affairs that should not be under their jurisdiction. The玄冥 Divination says: When a guest star is exactly in the middle of the Constellation of the Foundation and remains there, the roads throughout the land will be blocked, there will be many bandits, and the passes and bridges will be impassable, and this will come to pass within two years.

《文曜鉤》曰：“客星出天弁，若守之，有囚徒兵起；一曰：五穀傷，大貴。”

《黃帝占》曰：“客星入河鼓，色赤有兵，黃則天下安，蒼則不用。”

The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: A guest star entering the 'He Gu' star — the He Gu star consists of three stars located north of the Qian Niu constellation, which are now known as the Cowherd Star and the two stars on either side of it. These are the heavenly war drums, presiding over military campaigns and warfare. If the guest star appears red, there will be military affairs; if it appears yellow, the world will be at peace; if it appears blue, there will be no need for military action.

郄萌曰：“有星入河鼓，有兵，三軍出之野。”郄萌曰：“大星入河鼓，有兵，三將軍出。”郄萌曰：“火星入河鼓，天下鼓出。”郄萌曰：“大赤星入河鼓星，大將驚，蒼黑，憂；黃，更地；黑，入之死。”《荊州占》曰：“客星入河鼓，兵吏驚。”《黃帝占》曰：“客星出河鼓，兵出；入河鼓，兵入。”巫咸曰：“客星出河鼓，旗鼓大用，有兵起，將軍立旗幟；一曰：穀貴，軍絕糧，不出其年。”

Xie Meng said: If a star enters the "He Gu" constellation, there will be warfare throughout the land, and three armies will march to the outskirts. The "He Gu" constellation consists of three stars lying across the side of the Milky Way, with the central star being the general in heaven, and the two stars on either side being the left and right generals, who oversee the banners, drums, and signals in the military. Xie Meng also said: If a large star invades the He Gu constellation, military actions will be initiated, and three generals will lead their troops into battle. Xie Meng further said: If the Mars star invades the He Gu constellation, the war drums of the whole country will be taken out for use. Xie Meng said: If a red large star enters the stars of He Gu, the commander will be startled; if the star is dark green, there will be worries and troubles; if the star is yellow, there will be a change of territory; if the star is black, the person who has committed an offense will die. The "Jingzhou Divination" said: If a guest star enters the He Gu constellation, the officials in charge of military affairs will be anxious and uneasy. The "Yellow Emperor Divination" said: If a guest star moves from the He Gu constellation outward, the army will go out of the country; if it moves from outside into the He Gu constellation, the army will return to the country. Wu Xian said: If a guest star appears in the He Gu constellation, there will be a large-scale use of banners and war drums, and warfare will arise, with generals raising their own banners; another interpretation suggests that grain prices will rise sharply, and the army will suffer from food shortages, but this prediction did not come true in the same year.

石氏曰：“大赤星若出河鼓，所守之國將驚，若受令出。”郄萌曰：“客星舍河鼓，中國有鐘鼓之音，若立旗幟。”石氏曰：“客星守河鼓，三將軍食絕。”郄萌曰：“客星守河鼓，將軍戰亡，有奪鼓者。”《荊州占》曰：“客星守河鼓，兵革起，旗鼓用。”《黃帝占》曰：“客星中犯乘守河鼓，所中犯者誅，若有罪。”

The Shi school says: if a bright red star departs from He Gu, the general of the state corresponding to He Gu will be disturbed, or will be ordered to go to war. Xie Meng says: if a guest star stays at He Gu, there will be sounds of bells and drums in the Central Plains, or there will be the raising of flags and the dispatching of troops. The Shi school says: if a guest star stays at He Gu, the military provisions of three generals will be cut off. Xie Meng says: if a guest star stays at He Gu, the general will die in battle, and there will also be the loss of the military drums. The Jingzhou Divination says: if a guest star stays at He Gu, military conflicts will arise, and flags and drums will be used. The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: if a guest star passes through, invades, or stays at He Gu, the person governed by the star official that is being invaded will be executed, or will be punished.

《荊州占》曰：“客星犯離珠，後宮凶。”《玉曆》曰：“客星出離珠，若守之，後宮凶，若宮人有罪誅者，期二年。”

The *Jingzhou Divination* says: If a guest star invades the "Li Zhu" stars, there will be calamity in the inner court. The "Li Zhu" consists of four stars located north of the Xun Nu star, which oversee the jewels and ornaments in the inner court. When there is a change in these stars, the consequences will affect the concubines and female attendants, not involving the outer court affairs. The *Yuli Calendar* states: If a guest star appears in or stays at the "Li Zhu" stars, there will be danger in the inner court, or people within the palace may be executed for crimes. The time of fulfillment is two years.

石氏曰：“客星干犯匏瓜，政亂，近臣相譖，宮有戮死者，以赦除咎。”《黃帝占》曰：“客星入匏瓜，有大憂，若魚鹽價十倍。”石氏曰：“客星色青，入匏瓜，諸侯有來獻果者，中有藥，不可食。”石氏曰：“客星色赤，入匏瓜，人主攻一邑，族之。”石氏曰：“客星色白，入匏瓜，有喪。”石氏曰：“有星色黑，入匏瓜中若外，皆為魚鹽貴；出匏瓜，君使人賜諸侯果。”

The Shi school says: A guest star conflicting with "Paojia" indicates disorder in the court, enmity among close ministers who slander each other, and someone being killed in the palace. A great amnesty is needed to dispel this calamity. "Paojia" is the group of five stars located north of the Li Zhu, which oversees the fruits, vegetables, and melons in the palace gardens. Therefore, its divination often relates to food and drink. The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: If a guest star enters Paojia, there will be great worries, or the price of fish and salt will rise tenfold. The Shi school says: If the guest star is green and enters Paojia, there will be princes offering fruits, but the fruits may be poisoned and should not be eaten. The Shi school says: If the guest star is red and enters Paojia, the king will send troops to attack a city and exterminate its clan. The Shi school says: If the guest star is white and enters Paojia, there will be mourning. The Shi school says: If a black star enters Paojia or stops outside of it, it indicates that the price of fish and salt will be high; if it leaves Paojia, it means the king will send envoys to bestow fruits upon the princes.

《黃帝占》曰：“客星色赤，出匏瓜，天下有遊兵而不戰。”《黃帝占》曰：“客星白，（一本曰：色青也。）出匏瓜，君使人遺諸侯果。”甘氏曰：“客星出匏瓜，人主憂，備毒藥，若諸侯獻果，中有藥，不可食，防備之，若食憂，期三年。”

The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: If a guest star appears red and moves out from the Pu Gua star, there will be military movements and troops traveling around the country, but there will be no actual battle. The Yellow Emperor's Divination also says: If a guest star appears white (note: another version says 'green'), and moves out from the Pu Gua star, the ruler will send gifts of fruit to the feudal lords. The Gan school says: If a guest star appears from the Pu Gua star, the ruler will have worries and must be prepared for poison. If at this time the feudal lords present fruit, the fruit will contain poison and should not be eaten. It must be strictly guarded against. If by mistake someone eats it, calamity will result. The prediction will come true within three years.

《黃帝占》曰：“有星出入匏瓜，若在其下，皆為食官有憂。”《黃帝占》曰：“客星守匏瓜，山搖。”《黃帝占》曰：“有星守匏瓜，有食有憂。”石氏曰：“客星守匏瓜，山谷多水。”《黃帝占》曰：“客星入若守匏瓜，備奸人獻食物，有毒藥也。”

The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: If a star appears entering and exiting the Gourd Star, or stops beneath the Gourd Star, it indicates that the officials in charge of the imperial food, the Food Officials, will face troubles. The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: A guest star stationed at the Gourd Star causes the mountains to tremble. The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: If a star guards the Gourd Star, there will be worries concerning food. The Shi school says: If a guest star guards the Gourd Star, there will be flooding in the valleys. The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: If a guest star enters or guards the Gourd Star, one must be on guard against villains offering food, which may be poisoned.

石氏曰：“客星干犯天津，賊斷王道。”《黃帝占》曰：“客星入天津中，若守之，津河道不通。”《聖洽符》曰：“客星出天津，天下關絕，不通，若津吏有憂罪者。”郄萌曰：“客星入天津，諸侯不通，天下備道，修橋樑。”

The Shi school says: A guest star conflicting with 'Tianjin' indicates thieves and bandits cutting off the roads used by the ruler for travel. 'Tianjin' consists of nine stars spanning the Milky Way, serving as a heavenly ferry crossing, overseeing all matters related to water transport. The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: When a guest star enters the middle of Tianjin or stays there, the ferry crossing and river channel become blocked. The Sacred Harmony Symbol says: When a guest star appears from Tianjin, the country's passes and borders become blocked, communication ceases, or officials in charge of the ferry crossings become anxious due to guilt. Xie Meng says: When a guest star enters Tianjin, communication between feudal lords is cut off, and the whole country must repair roads and bridges as a response.

郄萌曰：“客星入河中，貴人有溺死者。”郄萌曰：“客星守天津，水道不通，若船貴；一曰：津河吏有憂。”《荊州占》曰：“客星守天津，津不可渡。”石氏曰：“他星守犯天津，津河為敗。”

Xie Meng said: The guest star enters the Milky Way, among the noblemen there will be those drowned. Xie Meng also said: The guest star stays at Tianjin, waterways are blocked, or the price of boats rises; another interpretation is that officials in charge of ferry crossings and river channels will have worries. The "Jingzhou Divination" says: The guest star stays at Tianjin, ferry crossings cannot be used. The Shi school says: Other abnormal stars that stop or conflict with Tianjin will cause damage to ferry crossings and river channels, boats cannot move, and water transport will be obstructed.

《荊州占》曰：“客星守螣蛇，水雨為災。”石氏曰：“他星守犯螣蛇，水物不成，水蟲為敗。”

The *Jingzhou Divination* says: When the guest star halts at "Tengshe," rainwater will cause calamity. "Tengshe" consists of twenty-two stars located north of Yingshi. Tengshe is a mythical creature capable of summoning clouds and causing rain, so this star official's divination often indicates water disasters. The Shi school says: If other abnormal stars halt at or clash with Tengshe, the produce from water will not mature, and aquatic pests will cause harm. All these are signs of disorder in the water qi.

郄萌曰：“客星入王良，將士皆亡。”《甄曜度》曰：“客星出王良，天下有急，關津不通，兵起，若馬多死，期二年。”石氏曰：“客星守王良，津河不通。”

Xie Meng said: A guest star entering "Wang Liang" indicates that all soldiers will die. "Wang Liang" consists of five stars located north of the Kuixiu mansion. Wang Liang was a person from ancient times who was most skilled in driving chariots. This star represents the driver of the Son of Heaven, overseeing carriages, horses, riding, and bridges and ferry crossings. The "Zhen Yaodu" states: When a guest star appears at Wang Liang, there will be urgent matters throughout the country, with passageways and river crossings blocked, military conflicts arising, or a large number of horses dying. The fulfillment of this omen will occur within two years. The Shi school says: When a guest star remains at Wang Liang, ferry crossings and river channels will be blocked.

郄萌曰：“客星守王良，天下有急，馬大動；一曰：疾病。”郄萌曰：“赤星守王良，兵起；一曰：守王良，天下大水，橋樑不通。”《海中占》曰：“客星入王良而守之，天下兵起，車騎行，人主憂，將軍有死者，期三年。”

Xie Meng said: A guest star halting at Wang Liang indicates that the country faces urgent difficulties and large numbers of horses are moved; another interpretation is an outbreak of plague. Xie Meng also said: A red star halting at Wang Liang indicates the outbreak of military conflicts; another interpretation is that the star presages great flooding, with bridges broken and communication cut off. The "Sea Divination" says: When a guest star enters Wang Liang and stays there, military conflicts will arise throughout the country, with carriages, horses, and cavalry moving all over, the sovereign will have worries, and some generals will die in battle. The fulfillment of this prophecy is expected within three years. Wang Liang is both associated with chariots and cavalry and spans the Milky Way, so its divination covers both the management of horses and the rivers and bridges.

陳卓曰：“客星干犯閣道，王者居正殿，不私行，則災自消。”《玄冥》曰：“客星出閣道，有驚戒之事，若道中有伏兵，人主備左右，慎女兵。”

Chen Zhuo said: If a guest star confronts the 'Ge Dao', the king should remain in the main hall, not travel privately, and the calamity will naturally be resolved. The 'Ge Dao' consists of six stars located north of Wang Liang, serving as a covered path for the emperor to travel from the Purple Palace to other palaces. Therefore, the divination text relates to the matter of travel. The 'Xuan Ming' states: If a guest star appears from the Ge Dao, there will be alarming and cautious events, or troops may be ambushed on the roads. The king should be vigilant about his attendants, especially the female soldiers within the palace.

陳卓曰：“客星干犯附路，道不通，天下半隔，期一年。”焦延壽曰：“有星入附路，兵大起。”郄萌曰：“有星入附路，馬賤。”巫咸曰：“客星出附路，若守之，太僕有憂，若以馬罪；一曰：馬當賤，期不出一年。”

Chen Zhuo said: A guest star conflicting with 'Fulü' indicates that roads are blocked, and half the world is separated from the other half. The fulfillment period is one year. 'Fulü' is a single star located south of Ge dao, serving as an auxiliary road beside Ge dao, and both Ge dao and Fulü govern road travel. Jiao Yanshou said: If a star enters Fulü, great military conflicts will arise. Xie Meng said: If a star enters Fulü, horse prices will drop. Wu Xian said: If a guest star appears in or stays at Fulü, the 'Tai Pu', who oversees the emperor's carriages and horses, will suffer misfortune or be punished for matters related to the horse administration; another interpretation is that horse prices will fall, but the fulfillment will not occur within one year.

《河圖帝覽嬉》曰：“客星出將軍，將軍有憂，若黜者，若軍吏不忠，有過罪者。”石氏曰：“有星守天將軍，大將軍有憂；一曰：軍吏不安，以飢為敗。”

The *River Chart Imperial Tour* says: A guest star appearing from the 'Heavenly General' indicates that the general will have troubles, or may be dismissed, or that military officials are disloyal, committing offenses and bearing responsibility. The 'Heavenly General' consists of twelve stars located north of the Bond mansion, with the central star being the heavenly general, in charge of military campaigns. The Shi school says: If a star remains stationed at the Heavenly General, the grand general will have worries; another interpretation is that the military officials are uneasy, due to lack of food and hunger leading to defeat.

《荊州占》曰：“客星入大陵，若守之，君有大陵功之令。”《黃帝占》曰：“客星出大陵，有土功墳陵之事，若犯積尸，國有大喪，人主當之，期三年。”石氏曰：“他星若入守大陵，有土功事。”

The *Jingzhou Divination* says: If a guest star enters the "Daling" constellation or stays there, the sovereign will issue an order for a large-scale construction project for tombs. The eight stars of "Daling" are located to the north of the Stomach mansion, and they oversee funerals and burial mounds, among which there is also the "Jishi" star. The *Yellow Emperor's Divination* says: If a guest star appears from Daling, there will be earth and wood construction projects and the building of tombs; if it invades the Jishi star, there will be a great mourning in the country, which will affect the sovereign, and the duration will be three years. The Shi school says: If other stars enter and stay in Daling, there will be earth and wood construction projects.

郄萌曰：“客星入天船，水大至。”石氏曰：“客星出天船，天下大水，舟船用，若有船事，期不出年。”郄萌曰：“客星守天船，有兵；一曰：王船有事，不出一年。”

Xie Meng said: A guest star entering the "Tian Chuan" indicates a great flood is coming. The "Tian Chuan" consists of nine stars located north of Da Ling, spanning across the Milky Way, governing crossing water and sailing. The Shi school said: When a guest star appears in Tian Chuan, the whole country will experience a great flood, boats will be needed, or there will be accidents related to ships, but the prediction will not be verified in the same year. Xie Meng said: When a guest star stays in Tian Chuan, there will be military affairs; another interpretation suggests that the royal ships will have an accident, and it will be verified within a year.

《玉曆》曰：“客星出捲舌，若守之，天下有妄言惑其君者，君信讒臣，罪無辜者。”

The *Yu Li* says: If a guest star appears at or stays at the position of "Rolling Tongue," there will be people in the world who fabricate false words to deceive the sovereign. The sovereign will believe the false words of the slanderous ministers, causing the innocent to suffer punishment. The six stars of "Rolling Tongue" are located north of the mansion of "Hairy Head," and they appear in the shape of a curled tongue. They oversee speech and slander. Among these stars, there is another called "Heavenly Slander," so the divination for this star group specifically relates to false words and slander.

（按班固《天文志》曰：元帝二年五月，客星見昴分，居捲舌東，可五尺，青白色，炎長三寸，其年十二月，鉅鹿都尉謝君男詐為神人，論死，父免官。孟康注曰：姓謝，名君。男，兒也，不紀其名，直言男者也。”

According to the notes in the original text, referring to the records in Ban Gu's "Book of Han: Astronomical Records," in the second year of Emperor Wu of Han's reign, a guest star appeared in the region corresponding to the mansion ofHairy Head mansion, located east of the position of卷舌, with a length of five feet, a color of blue with white, and a flame extending three inches in length. By the twelfth month of that year, the son of Xie Jun, the military commander of Julu Commandery, falsely claimed to be a divine being and was executed, and his father was also dismissed from office. Meng Kang's commentary states: this person's surname was Xie, his name was Jun; "male" refers to his son, and since the historical records did not mention his name, it was simply written as "male."

石氏曰：“客星干犯五車，兵滿野，天下半傾，百姓徙居，去其土，期三年。”《黃帝占》曰：“客星入五車，色黃，人主受賀；色白，言義；色赤，言兵；色青，言愛；色黑，大人當之。”《海中占》曰：“客星入五車，所守土穀貴。”郄萌曰：“客星入五車，糴倍價；一曰：車倍價，皆為後年。”郄萌曰：“客星入五車，為赦。”

The Shi school says: A guest star conflicting with the 'Five Carriages' indicates that armies are deployed in the outskirts, and half the world will be in turmoil, with people migrating and abandoning their native lands. The fulfillment of this omen will occur within three years. The 'Five Carriages' are five stars located in the Northeast of the Net mansion. They are the carriages of the Five Heavenly Emperors, governing military equipment and chariots, and also overseeing the abundance or scarcity of grain. The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: When a guest star enters the Five Carriages, if the star is yellow, the sovereign will receive homage; if white, it signifies matters of trust and righteousness; if red, it indicates warfare; if green, it signifies harmony and affection; if black, it indicates an omen concerning the sovereign. The Sea Divination says: When a guest star enters the Five Carriages, the region it guards will experience a surge in grain prices. Xie Meng says: When a guest star enters the Five Carriages, the price of rice will double; another account says the price of chariots will double, both occurrences happening in the second year. Xie Meng also says: When a guest star enters the Five Carriages, there will be an amnesty.

《荊州占》曰：“客星入五車，人相食，若大水，溝瀆溢。”《黃帝占》曰：“有星出五車，色白，君使人諸侯，以車為戒；色黃，受賀；赤，言兵，車騎滿路；色黑，多死者；以其日占期。”郄萌曰：“客星出五車，兵出；入五車，兵入。”《玄冥》曰：“客星出五車，天下兵起，車騎滿野，將相有憂，五穀大貴，人民飢，期百八十日，中一年，遠三年。”

The *Jingzhou Divination* says: When a guest star enters the Five Carriage, people eat each other, or there is a great flood, and the ditches and rivers overflow. The *Yellow Emperor Divination* says: When a star appears from the Five Carriage, if the star is white, the king will send envoys to the feudal lords and warn them about matters concerning carriages and horses; if the star is yellow, the king will receive the homage of the feudal lords; if the star is red, it signifies war and military forces filling the roads; if the star is black, there will be many deaths; the time of verification depends on the heavenly stem and earthly branch of the day the guest star appears. Xie Meng says: When a guest star comes out from the Five Carriage, military forces go out; when it enters the Five Carriage, military forces come in. The *Xuanming* says: When a guest star appears from the Five Carriage, there will be warfare throughout the land, with carriages, horses, and cavalry filling the fields, ministers and generals facing worries, grain prices rising sharply, and the people suffering from hunger. The time of verification is short, within 180 days for the near term, one year for the middle term, and three years for the distant term.

郄萌曰：“客星出入五車，以守五車，可取者。客星出入蕡車，取蕡；出入麥車，取麥；出入豆車，取豆；出入黍粟車，取黍粟；出入稻米車，取稻米；出以其行，為粟，其出入中行，石二百；出入外行，石百錢。”

Xie Meng said: When the guest star appears in the Five Carts and remains there, it is a sign indicating an opportunity for profit and stockpiling. Each of the Five Carts governs a different grain: if the guest star appears in the 'Fen Cart,' store flax seeds; if it appears in the 'Mai Cart,' store millet; if it appears in the 'Dou Cart,' store beans; if it appears in the 'Shu Su Cart,' store millet and sorghum; if it appears in the 'Dào Mǐ Cart,' store rice. The grain corresponding to the row where the guest star appears will experience price changes: if the guest star appears in the central row, each stone of grain is worth two hundred coins; if it appears in the outer row, each stone is worth one hundred coins.

《黃帝占》曰：“客星守五格休左者，軍大發；守休右，留十日，天下有喪，大亂。”郄萌曰：“客星守五車。兵革起。”《海中占》曰：“客星入五車，犯守之，大人有憂，車騎發用，將軍出令，國易政，期三年。”

The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: When the guest star stops at the 'Five Categories' and rests on the left side, there will be a large military mobilization; if it stops and rests on the right side and remains for ten days, there will be calamities throughout the land and great chaos. Xie Meng says: When the guest star stops at the Five Carriages, military conflicts will arise. The Divination of the Sea says: When the guest star enters the Five Carriages and conflicts with them, staying there, the sovereign will have worries, chariots and cavalry will be mobilized, generals will issue orders, and the country will undergo changes in its policies. The period when this will be verified is three years.

《黃帝占》曰：“客星入天關，諸侯不通，民多相攻，且有兵，子伐父，弟伐兄，是謂不理，各去其鄉。”郄萌曰：“客星入天關，民多疾病。”郄萌曰：“有星入天關，天下有急；一曰：關市不通。”《荊州占》曰：“客星入天關，多盜賊，道路不通。”

The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: When a guest star enters the 'Heavenly Pass,' communication between princes will be cut off, there will be frequent attacks among common people, and there will be military conflicts. Sons will attack their fathers, and younger brothers will attack their elder brothers. This is called the loss of order, with everyone leaving their hometowns. The Heavenly Pass is a single star located south of the Five Carriage constellation and near the Net mansion, governing the opening and closing of passes and the smoothness or blockage of travel. Xie Meng says: When a guest star enters the Heavenly Pass, the people will suffer many diseases. Xie Meng also says: When a star enters the Heavenly Pass, the world will face urgent difficulties; another view is that the pass and marketplaces will be cut off. The Jingzhou Divination says: When a guest star enters the Heavenly Pass, bandits will be numerous, and roads will be blocked.

石氏曰：“他星入天關，兵戰不勝。”石氏曰：“客星出天關門，天下起兵不戰。”《孝經章句》曰：“客星守天關，羊馬牛大貴，不出三年，有德令。”《荊州占》曰：“客星守天關，諸侯不通，期十二日。又曰：民飢。又：有自責者。”

The Shi school says: Other variable stars entering the Heavenly Gate indicate that military campaigns will not be successful. The Shi school also says: A guest star departing from the Heavenly Gate's entrance signifies that war will break out but no actual fighting will occur. The "Commentary on the Classic of Filial Piety" says: When a guest star remains at the Heavenly Gate, the prices of sheep, horses, and cattle will rise sharply, and within three years, an edict of benevolence will be issued. The "Jingzhou Divination" says: When a guest star remains at the Heavenly Gate, communication between princes will be cut off, and the fulfillment period is twelve days; it also says that there will be famine among the people; another interpretation suggests that someone will take responsibility for the misfortune.
