If Mars remains in the Heavenly Dog, it also indicates military schemes.

《黃帝占》曰：“熒惑入天廟，若守，為廟有事；一曰為凶，憂。”《荊州占》曰：“熒惑入天廟，有廟殘之事；吏不去，則死。”

The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: If the planet Mars enters the Heavenly Temple (the Heavenly Temple consists of fourteen stars located south of the Extended Net mansion, symbolizing the ancestral temple of the Son of Heaven), or stays at the Heavenly Temple, it indicates that there will be incidents in the ancestral temple; another interpretation says it signifies calamity and worry. The Jingzhou Divination says: If Mars enters the Heavenly Temple, it indicates that there will be damage and destruction to the ancestral temple; the officials in charge of the temple will die if they do not resign promptly.

郗萌曰：“熒惑入長垣，敵人入中國；出長垣，則出。”《玉曆》曰：“熒惑入長垣，若守之，匈奴入漢國。敵人四夷若皆出，期一年。”

Xi Meng said: When the planet Mars enters Changyuan, which is located southwest of Shaowei, the four stars of Changyuan mark the boundary and defense of the realm, governing border areas and the entry and exit of the four barbarians, it indicates that enemies will invade the Central Plains; when Mars leaves Changyuan, the enemies will also retreat. The "Juyi" states: When Mars enters Changyuan or stays at Changyuan, it signifies the invasion of the Xiongnu into the Han territory; if all the surrounding barbarian tribes launch an attack together, the predicted time will be one year.

《荊州占》曰：“熒惑守土司空，有兵；又曰守入土司空，有土徭之事。”

The *Jingzhou Divination* says: When the planet Mars stays in the position of the Minister of Earth and Timber, it indicates there will be military affairs; it also says that when Mars occupies the position of the Minister of Earth and Timber and enters it, it signifies the mobilization of the people for construction projects.

郗萌曰：“熒惑犯乘鍵閉星，大臣有謀，天子不尊事天者，致火災於宗廟，王者不宜出宮下殿，有匿兵於宗廟中者。”（《宋書》云：“晉穆帝昇平三年正月壬辰，熒惑犯鍵閉，占曰：人主憂，五年正月，穆帝崩。”）

Xi Meng said: The planet Mars (Feng Huo) conflicts with and overshadows the Key and Lock Star (a single star located in the northeast of the Room Mansion; "Key" refers to the door latch, "Lock" refers to the key, symbolizing the control of doors and locks), indicating that ministers have secret plots in their hearts. If the emperor does not respectfully serve heaven, he will invite fire in the ancestral temple. At this time, the ruler should not leave the palace gate or descend from the palace steps, because there are soldiers hidden in the ancestral temple. (The original book's note cites the "Song History" which says: In the third year of Shengping of Emperor Mu of Eastern Jin, the first month of the壬辰 (Renchen) day, Mars conflicted with the Key and Lock Star; the divination text indicated that the sovereign would have worries; in the first month of the fifth year of Shengping, Emperor Mu died.)

《荊州占》曰：“熒惑守天柱，兵鼓起。”

The Zhongjiao Divination says: When the planet Mars stays at Tianzhu (Tianzhu is one of the five stars in the Purple Micro Palace, located north of the lower platform, governing the establishment of commands and the display of laws and regulations), it indicates the sound of war drums and the outbreak of military affairs.

《荊州占》曰：“熒惑入天淵，大旱，出焦枯；若守之，海水出，江河決溢，若海魚出。”

The book Zhongjiao Zhan says: If the planet Mars enters Tianyuan (Tianyuan consists of ten stars, also called Tianquan and Tianhai, located southeast of the star Bie, governing irrigation ditches and canals), it indicates a great drought with dry and withered grass and trees; if Mars stays at Tianyuan, it signifies rising sea levels overflowing, rivers breaking their banks and causing floods, or fish from the sea leaping out of the water.

《黃帝占》曰：“熒惑入鈇鑕，為大臣誅。”《推度覽》曰：“大臣戮亡，熒惑環鈇鑕。”《荊州占》曰：“火犯鈇鑕，兵起。”

The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: When the Malefic of violence enters the position of the axe and the halberd, it indicates that a high official will be executed. The Push and Measure Gazetteer says: The death of an official is caused by the Malefic of violence circling around the position of the axe and the halberd in a ring. The Jingzhou Divination says: When the Malefic of violence confronts the position of the axe and the halberd, it signifies the outbreak of military conflicts.

《荊州占》曰：“熒惑入天廄十日以上，廄馬有食變。”石氏曰：“熒惑出入天廄，天下廄有憂，長吏敗；若干天廄，兵起。”《黃帝占》曰：“守天廄，為廄災之事；人主以馬為憂，不即馬疾。”郗萌曰：“熒惑守天廄災三十日，騎馬出。”

The *Jingzhou Divination* says: If the planet Mars stays in the celestial stable for more than ten days, it indicates that there will be disturbances in the fodder and feed of the stables. Shi Shen says: If Mars enters or leaves the celestial stable, it signifies that there will be troubles in the stables across the land, and the officials in charge will fail in their duties; if Mars collides with the celestial stable, it indicates the outbreak of military conflicts. The *Yellow Emperor's Divination* says: If Mars remains in the celestial stable, it foretells that the stables will suffer disasters such as fires; the sovereign will worry about horses, or horses will fall ill. Xi Meng says: If the disaster caused by Mars staying in the celestial stable lasts for thirty days, it indicates that cavalry and horses will be mobilized.

石氏曰：“填星，其神雷公，決星名曰卿魄。”《荊州占》曰：“填星，常晨出東方，夕伏西方；其行，歲填一宿，故名填星。”石氏曰：“填星，主季夏、主中央、主土；於日主戊巳，是謂黃帝之子，主德。女主之象，定受而不受者為失，填，其下之國可伐也，德者不可伐也；其一名地侯。”（案《服食經》曰：雄黃，填星之精也。）

Shi Shen said: The planet Tian Xing (which is also called the planet of Earth, or Zhen Xing) is associated with the deity Leigong. During divination, it is also called "Qing Po". The "Jingzhou Divination" says: Tian Xing usually rises in the east in the early morning and sets in the west in the evening. Its movement follows a pattern of occupying one zodiac mansion each year, hence it is called "Tian Xing". Shi Shen said: Tian Xing governs the season of the late summer, the central direction, and the element of earth. In terms of the day branch, it governs the days of Wu and Ji, and is called the son of the Yellow Emperor, governing virtue. It is also a symbol of the female ruler. If a person is destined to receive it but refuses, it is called "shi". When Tian Xing is present, the country directly opposite it can be attacked, but if that country has virtue, it should not be attacked. Tian Xing is also called "Di Hou". (A note from the original text citing the "Fushiyijing" says: Xiong Huang is formed from the essence of Tian Xing.)

《淮南子》曰：“中央土也，其帝黃帝，其佐后土，執繩而制四方，繩直也；其神為填星，其獸黃龍，其音宮，其日戊巳。”《春秋緯》曰：“填星主德；德失，則宮室高，臺榭繁；故填星縮、火燒門；動，則水決江河破、凶。”《文曜鉤》曰：“填星主德以正常，德失則罰出填星，二十四徽，以效存亡。”《合誠圖》曰：“填星，主正紀綱。”甘氏曰：“填星；主太常，主周梁，（《海中占》曰：周梁、中國也。）邦有德，填星當也。”

The Huainanzi says: The center belongs to earth, and the heavenly emperor in charge is the Yellow Emperor, with the deity Hou Tu as his assistant. They hold a measuring rope to govern the four directions — the term 'rope' refers to uprightness. The corresponding star deity is Tian Xing, the corresponding divine beast is the Yellow Dragon, the corresponding musical note is the Palace tone, and the corresponding day branches are Wu and Ji days. The Spring Chronicles says: Tian Xing governs virtue; once virtue is lost, palaces will be built too high and pavilions and terraces will be constructed excessively; thus, when Tian Xing retreats, it should be interpreted as a fire burning the palace gate; when Tian Xing is unstable, it should be interpreted as floods breaking through dikes and rivers overflowing their banks, indicating misfortune. The Wen Yao Gou says: Tian Xing governs virtue to maintain the correct path; once virtue is lost, punishment will emanate from Tian Xing, and twenty-four signs will be used to verify the rise and fall of the state. The He Cheng Tu says: Tian Xing governs the rectification of the court's regulations. Gan De says: Tian Xing governs the office of Tai Chang, and the region of Zhou and Liang (as noted in the original text's marginal commentary, Zhou and Liang refer to the Central Plains area). If a state has virtue, Tian Xing will appear above it.

巫咸曰：“填星之德厚，安危存亡之機。填星所宿者，其國安，大人有喜，增土。”《五行傳》曰：“填星於五常為信，言行不二；於五事為思，心寬容受諫；若五常、五事皆失，填星為變動、為土功、為女主、為山崩、為地動。”吳龔《天官星占》曰：“填星所居國有德，不可以兵加也。”班固《天文志》曰：“填星者，信也，思也；仁義禮智以信為主，貌言視聽以心為正；故四星皆失，填星乃為之動。”郗萌曰：“填星，主祭祀鬼神宮及太常。”《荊州占》曰：“填星，土之精，主四季。填星，主司天下女主之過；女主邪，填星邪；女主正，填星正。”石氏曰：“填星正，女主正紀綱。”

Wu Xian said: The planet Tian Xing has a deep virtue, and it relates to the safety and danger of a state. Where Tian Xing resides, that state will be peaceful, the noble people will have good fortune, and the territory will expand. The "Five Phases Transmission" says: Tian Xing belongs to "Xin" among the five constants, which refers to being consistent in words and deeds; it belongs to "Si" among the five affairs, which refers to a broad mind and being open to advice. If the five constants and five affairs are neglected, Tian Xing will change, and this change will be reflected in earth and wood construction, female rulers taking power, mountain collapses, and earthquakes. Wu Gong's "Celestial Officials Star Divination" says: Where Tian Xing resides, that state has virtue, and it is not appropriate to use military force against it. Ban Gu's "Book of Han · Astronomical Records" says: Tian Xing symbolizes "Xin" and "Si"; among the four virtues of benevolence, righteousness, propriety, and wisdom, "Xin" is the foundation; among the four affairs of appearance, speech, hearing, and thought, "Si" is the standard; therefore, Tian Xing will only move when the four stars, namely the Year Star, the Red Star, the White Star, and the Blue Star, have lost their normal positions. Xi Meng said: Tian Xing oversees the temples for worshiping ghosts and spirits and the office of the Grand Music. The "Jingzhou Divination" says: Tian Xing is the essence of earth, and it oversees the last months of the four seasons. Tian Xing is responsible for inspecting the faults of female rulers; if a female ruler is corrupt, Tian Xing will move erratically; if a female ruler is upright, Tian Xing will move in a straight path. Shi Shen said: When Tian Xing moves in a straight path, it indicates that the female ruler has established order within the palace.

《五行傳》曰：“填星以上元甲子歲，十一月朔旦冬至夜半甲子時，與日月五星俱起於牛前五度，順行二十八宿，右旋，歲一宿，二十八宿而周天。”（案《曆法》：填星一年平行十二度十一萬六千四百三十二分度之四萬六千二百七十一，二十九而百六十八日千九百七十六分日之十一百三十七而周天，是三百八十三年而十三周天。）

The "Transmission of the Five Phases" states: The planet of filling (Fill Star) was in the first year of Jiazi, on the first day of the eleventh lunar month, at dawn exactly coinciding with the winter solstice, and at midnight it was also at the Jiazi hour. It started five degrees before the Ox mansion, and then proceeded in order through the twenty-eight mansions, rotating to the right. It occupied one mansion each year, and after going through all twenty-eight mansions, it completed a full circle around the sky. (The original commentary notes according to the calendar calculation: The Fill Star moves an average of twelve degrees and 116,432 parts of a degree in a year, and after twenty-nine years, 168 days, and 1,976 parts of a day, it completes a full circle around the sky. According to this calculation, it would complete thirteen circles around the sky in three hundred and eighty-three years. These numbers in the original text have errors and omissions, and are therefore recorded as they are.)

《淮南子》曰：“填星以甲寅元始建斗，（甲寅元始，歷起之年也；建斗，填星起於斗也。）日行二十八分度之一，歲行十二度百一十二分度之五，二十八歲而周天。”《春秋緯》曰：“填星出，百二十日，反逆；西行百二十日，東行；見三百三十日而入，入三十日復出東方，運之常也；守度持節為紀綱，順之吉，逆之凶。”《荊州占》曰：“填星出東方三百三十日，而夕伏西方三十日，而復晨見東方。”

The Huainanzi says: The planet Tianxing begins its course from the Jiayin year, starting at the Dipper mansion (note: "Jiayin year" is the starting year of the calendar; "establishing the Dipper" means Tianxing begins its movement from the Southern Dipper). It moves one twenty-eighth of a degree each day, twelve degrees and five twenty-eighths of a degree each year, and completes a full circuit around the sky in twenty-eight years. The Chūnqiū Wěi says: After Tianxing appears, it moves forward for one hundred and twenty days, then reverses its course; it moves westward for one hundred and twenty days, then turns eastward again; after a total of three hundred and thirty days it disappears, and remains hidden for thirty days before reappearing in the east in the morning. This is its regular pattern. Tianxing maintains its position and follows its fixed rhythm, which is the order of the world; following it brings good fortune, while opposing it brings misfortune. The Jingzhou Zhàn says: Tianxing appears in the east for three hundred and thirty days, then disappears in the west in the evening for thirty days, and subsequently reappears in the east in the morning.

《尚書緯》曰：“氣在於季夏，其紀填星，是謂大靜；無立兵，立兵命曰犯命；奪人一畝，償以千里；殺人不當，償以長子；不可起土功，是謂犯天之常，滅德之光。可以居正殿安處，舉有道之人，與之慮國；人以順式時利，以布大德，修禮義；不可以行武事，可以赦罪；人與德相應，其禮衣黃，是謂順陰陽，奉天之常也。如是則填星得度，其地無災。”

The Shangshu Wei says: When the solar terms reach the season of the last summer month, the ruling star is the planet of filling, which is called "Great Stillness." At this time, it is not appropriate to wage war; to do so would be to violate the mandate of heaven. To take an acre of land from another person will require repaying with a thousand miles in the future; to wrongly kill one person will require repaying with one's eldest son in the future. It is also not appropriate to undertake construction projects, for that would be to offend the heavenly way and to extinguish the radiance of virtue. At this time, it is suitable to reside in the main hall, to appoint virtuous people, and to consult with them on state affairs; to follow the appropriate season, to widely spread great virtue, and to regulate propriety and righteousness; it is not appropriate to use military force, but one may pardon criminals. When human affairs and virtue are in harmony, the ceremonial robe should be yellow, which is called following yin and yang and following the heavenly way. If this is done, the planet of filling will be in its proper place, and there will be no calamity in that land.

《動聲儀》曰：“宮音和調，填星如度不逆，則鳳凰至。”巫咸曰：“填星受制，則養老、存鰥寡、行饘粥，施思澤，事賓客。”郗萌曰：“填星用事，務招錄賢聖，擇廉平，勸民耕農，實倉庫，治城郭，通溝渠，奉天祠，修治社稷，數問牢獄，察勉失職，務安百姓；如是，則填星不盈縮，不逆行變色。”《荊州占》曰：“填星順行而明，其國有厚德。填星行中道，陰陽和調。”皇甫謐《年曆》曰：“甘石、太初曆所民記星出不同者，以星盈縮在前，各錄後所見也；填星之精，凡六十三變。”

The "Dongshengyi" says: When the palace tone is harmonious and smooth, the planet Tianming follows its regular course without retrograding, and the phoenix will come. Wu Xian says: When the planet Tianming is in the season it is supposed to be in, it should honor the elderly, care for the widowers and orphans, distribute thick and thin porridge, widely extend kindness, and treat guests with propriety. Xi Meng says: When the planet Tianming is in its ruling season, one must certainly recruit and employ virtuous and wise men, select clean and fair officials, encourage the people to till the soil and raise silkworms, fill the granaries, repair the city walls, clear the ditches, respectfully worship the heavenly temples, renovate the ancestral shrines and temples, frequently inquire about the prisoners, examine and encourage those who have failed in their duties, and make every effort to stabilize the people. If this can be done, the planet Tianming will not speed up or slow down, nor will it retrograde or change color. The "Jingzhou Zhan" says: When the planet Tianming moves forward smoothly and is bright, it indicates that the state has profound virtue; when the planet Tianming moves along the middle path, it indicates that yin and yang are in harmony. Huanfu Mi's "Nianli" says: Gan De and Shi Shen's records of the rising and setting times of the stars differ from those in the "Taichu Li," because the stars themselves have inherent expansion and contraction, speed and slowness, and each school merely recorded what they observed later; the changes in the essence and qi of the planet Tianming total sixty-three kinds.

《荊州占》曰：“填星之相也，從立夏至仲夏時，其色大如精明，無芒角。填星，土也，位在中央，王於四季，其星從孟夏至仲夏時，色當赤而微小；及季夏王時，其色比北極中央大星，赤黃而光明，有芒角。

The *Jingzhou Divination* says: When the planet Filling Star is in the "Phase" stage, it is from the beginning of summer to the middle of summer. At this time, its color is clear and divine, and its form is larger. It does not display sharp rays. "Phase, Sovereignty, Rest, Captivity, Death" are five stages used by the Five Phases school to judge the waxing and waning of the five planets throughout the four seasons. The Filling Star belongs to Earth, is located in the central direction, and is in the "Sovereignty" stage during the last month of each season. From the beginning of summer to the middle of summer, its color should be red and its form slightly smaller. When it reaches the "Sovereignty" stage in the last month of summer, its color should be similar to the central bright star of the North Pole, appearing red-yellow and bright, and it should display sharp rays.

填星之囚也，從立冬至仲冬比奎大星，黃白而光明有芒。填星其囚也，從立冬至仲冬，其色青而細小。赤黑，止而不行；（甘氏云：如小不明也。）至季冬王時，色當比左角青黃而光明有芒。填星之死也，從立春至仲春，其色白而細小不明，至季春時，色當比參左肩；而黃白光明有芒。”

When the planet Filling Star is in the stage of rest, it corresponds to the Big Star of the Mansion of Legs from the beginning of autumn to the middle of autumn. When the planet Filling Star is in the stage of imprisonment, from the beginning of winter to the middle of winter, its color turns green and its form is small and dim, or it appears red-black and remains stationary. By the end of winter, when it is in the stage of kingship, its color should correspond to the Left Star of the Horn Mansion, appearing green-yellow and bright with a芒. When the planet Filling Star is in the stage of death, from the beginning of spring to the middle of spring, its color turns white and its form is small and dim. By the end of spring, its color should correspond to the Left Shoulder Star of the Three Stars Mansion, appearing yellow-white and bright with a芒.

甘氏曰：“當其相也，而有王色；主弱、女主用事；有休色，有土功；有囚色、女主不昌；有死色，貴人多喪。

Gan De said: When the planet of Tian Xing appears in the color of "Wang" during the phase of "Xiang," it indicates that the ruler is weak and a woman will be in power. If it appears in the color of "Xiu," it signifies the rise of earth and wood construction projects. If it appears in the color of "Qiu," it indicates that the female ruler will not flourish. If it appears in the color of "Si," it suggests that many high-ranking individuals will suffer misfortune.

所留守舍，其國有女徵，其進舍也及退舍，皆為土功憂事。當其王也，而有相色，則女主宗強；有休色，政在公卿；有囚色，女主不昌；有死色、女主族不祥。其所留之舍，有德厚，其進舍也，其國得土，其退舍也，則失土。當其休也，而有王色，臣下縱橫；有相色、女主請謁行，有囚色，女主宗族有誅傷；死色重，有女喪。所留之舍，其國民流亡；其進舍也及退舍，其國受殃。當其囚也，而有王色，有政令，四時不和，多風雨災，五穀不成，盜賊起，野多囚人；有相色，臣下為謀，謀及司空；有休色，女主與妾訟；有死色，國有土功。所留之舍，其國是當，其進舍也，絕嗣復興；其退舍也，有哭音。

Tian Xing is the planet Saturn, also called Zhen Xing. It takes twenty-eight years to orbit the sky, governing moral education, earth works, and the energies of the central region and the season of late summer. When Tian Xing stays in a particular mansion, the corresponding country will show omens related to women. If Tian Xing moves forward or backward by one mansion, it indicates troubles with earth and wood construction. When Tian Xing's energy is at its peak, corresponding to the state of "Wang," but its color shows "Xiang," the maternal clan of the queen's household becomes powerful. If its color shows "Xiu," the power shifts to the ministers. If it shows "Qiu," the queen's household cannot flourish. If it shows "Si," there will be ominous events in the queen's family lineage. When Tian Xing stays in a mansion, the country is blessed with virtue. When it moves forward by one mansion, the country gains territory. When it moves backward by one mansion, the country loses territory. When Tian Xing's energy is at "Xiu," but its color shows "Wang," the ministers become arrogant and act independently. If it shows "Xiang," the queen's requests and petitions are easily granted. If it shows "Qiu," members of the queen's family are executed. If it shows "Si" strongly, there will be mourning for women. When Tian Xing stays in a mansion, the country's people scatter and flee. When it moves forward or backward by one mansion, the country suffers calamity. When Tian Xing's energy is at "Qiu," but its color shows "Wang," there will be frequent decrees, disrupted seasons, frequent storms and floods, poor harvests, banditry, and many prisoners in the fields. If it shows "Xiang," the ministers conspire secretly, and the plot involves the Minister of Works and Construction. If it shows "Xiu," the queen and her concubines quarrel. If it shows "Si," the country engages in earth and wood construction. When Tian Xing stays in a mansion, the country is directly affected. When it moves forward by one mansion, the country's extinct lineage is revived. When it moves backward by one mansion, there will be weeping.

當其死也，而有王色，下勝上，枯木復生，臣專政；有相色、地洩，其藏從地中；出有休色，五穀暴貴，人臣散亡；有囚色、必有霜雹；所留之舍，尤凶；其進舍也、地動，若有蛇怪；其守舍也，有移徙澤。”

When the star of filling (Tian Xing) is at the time of "death" but its color appears as "sovereign" (Wang), the lower ranks will overpower the upper ranks, dead trees will revive, and ministers will seize control of state affairs. If it shows the color of "minister" (Xiang), the earth's energy will escape outward, and buried objects will emerge from the ground. If it shows the color of "rest" (Xiu), grain prices will soar and officials will scatter and flee. If it shows the color of "captivity" (Qiu), there will certainly be frost or hail disasters. Wherever this star resides, the ominous signs are especially severe. If it moves to the next mansion, there will be an earthquake or strange serpents appearing. If it remains in its original mansion without moving, there will be changes to water sources and alterations to ponds and reservoirs.

甘氏曰：“候填星，以季夏戊己；此王氣，色當如其常；色變，則失所也。”郗萌曰：“填星色有常，黃比參右肩。”《荊州占》曰：“填星常色，如北極明星；赤比角星；黑比奎明星。”《黃帝占》曰：“填星色白多為獄；一曰有素服，天下不安。填星色黃而光輝，輝大，更宮室，有土功事。填星色黃，大無光，女主得意；一曰女主年中有忿爭。”《禮斗威儀》曰：“君乘土而王，其政太平，則填星黃而暉多。”《詩緯》曰：“填星華，此奢侈不節，王政之失。”

The Gan school said: Observing the star of filling, one should do so during the last month of summer (June) and on days when the heavenly stem is Wu or Ji, as these are the times when the earth's energy is most vigorous, known as the "dominant energy" of earth. At this time, the star's color should remain its usual yellow. If the color changes, it indicates that the star has lost its normal state. Xi Meng said: The filling star has a fixed color; this yellow color can be compared to the star at the right shoulder of the Three Stars mansion (the star above the right side of the Three Stars mansion). The "Jingzhou Divination" said: The normal color of the filling star is bright, comparable to the bright star of the North Pole. If it turns red, compare it to the star of the Horn mansion; if it turns black, compare it to the bright star of the Legs mansion. The "Yellow Emperor's Divination" said: If the filling star is white with a strong white aura, it indicates legal punishments; another interpretation suggests that someone will wear plain clothes for mourning, and the world will be in turmoil. If the filling star is yellow and radiant, with great brilliance, it indicates the rebuilding of palaces and construction projects. If the filling star is yellow but lacks luster despite its large size, the queen in the palace will be content; another interpretation suggests that there will be disputes among the palace women during the year. The "Rites of the Celestial Pole" said: When the ruler inherits the earth's virtue and reigns, the political situation is peaceful, and the filling star will appear yellow with bright radiance. The "Poetry Weave" said: If the filling star shines excessively, it indicates extravagance and lack of restraint, which is a sign of improper royal governance.

《海中占》曰：“填星光明，歲熟；其所守國安，大人有喜，增地。”郗萌曰：“填星赤華也，期九十日，兵起。填星春色蒼，歲善，大熟。填星色青黃，其國有憂。填星赤色，光而澤也，不出其年，兵起。填星色赤，飢期三年；色青黃，有憂；色青白、期不出五月，兵若獄大起，青多為兵，白多為獄，青白等兵獄並起；色青黑，六十六日有喪，皆所在之宿名其國。”《天官書》曰：“填星色青圓，憂病；一曰憂水；青角有兵憂。填星色白圓，有喪；若星赤圓，有兵；黃圓，則吉。”

The Sea of Divination says: When the planet Filling Star is bright, smooth, and radiant, the harvest will be abundant; the country it governs will be stable, great people will have joyous events, and the territory will expand. Xi Meng says: When the Filling Star turns red and shines brightly, there will be warfare within ninety days. When the Filling Star appears bluish-green in spring, the harvest will be good and there will be a great abundance. When the Filling Star is bluish-yellow, the country will face troubles. When the Filling Star is red and bright, there will be warfare within the year. When the Filling Star is red, it indicates famine, lasting three years; when it is bluish-yellow, there will be troubles; when it is bluish-white, there will be great warfare or imprisonment within five months. Bluish color mainly indicates warfare, white color mainly indicates imprisonment, and when both are present, warfare and imprisonment will occur together. When the Filling Star is bluish-black, there will be mourning within sixty-six days—these all refer to the country corresponding to the star mansion where the Filling Star is located. The Book of Celestial Officials says: When the Filling Star is bluish and round, there will be sorrow due to illness; another view says it is sorrow due to water disasters; when it is bluish with sharp edges, there will be worries about warfare. When the Filling Star is white and round, there will be mourning; when it is red and round, there will be warfare; when it is yellow and round, it is auspicious.

《荊州占》曰：“填星居之分久而光明，人主吉昌。填星色，春青、夏赤、秋白、冬黑，色順四時，其國強，女主昌。填星色黑圓，多疾若水；黑而小，國有死王；赤為兵；白為喪；黃則吉。填星色黑黃圓，女主吉，有喜；赤圓，女主凶。填星色以黃潤澤，即國有慶。”《海中占》曰：“填星色白、芒澤，有子孫喜，立王。”郗萌曰：“填星赤，有芒，其野謀兵。”《荊州占》曰：“填星芒，邪乳失色，女主心不正。填星色赤芒，有兵若火。填星三黃芒，發主盛，其國強；三黑芒，其國亡。”

The *Jingzhou Divination* says: When the planet Filling Star remains for a long time in a certain region and appears bright and moist, the sovereign will have good fortune and prosperity. The color of the Filling Star, in spring is green, in summer red, in autumn white, and in winter black. When the color of the star conforms to the seasonal changes, the country will be strong and the queen's court will flourish. If the Filling Star is black and round, there will be many diseases or floods; if it is black and thin, the king in the country will die. A red color indicates military affairs; a white color indicates mourning; a yellow color is auspicious. If the Filling Star is black and yellow with a round shape, the queen's court will be favorable and there will be joy; if it is red and round, the queen's court will face misfortune. If the Filling Star is yellow and moist, there will be joyful events in the country. The *Haizhong Divination* says: When the Filling Star is white with a bright and moist glow, it indicates joy for the descendants and the appointment of a royal heir. Xi Meng says: When the Filling Star is red with spiky rays, there will be plots for military action in that region. The *Jingzhou Divination* says: When the Filling Star has crooked rays and its color is dim, the queen's court will have improper intentions. If the Filling Star appears red with sharp rays, there will be military conflicts or fires. If the Filling Star emits three yellow rays, the sovereign's power will be strong and the country will be powerful; if it emits three black rays, the country will be on the verge of collapse.

《天官書》曰：“填星兩黑角，水；青角，憂有兵；白角，哭泣之聲，赤角，犯我城；黃角，地之爭。”《荊州占》曰：“填星七角，又有芒，女主專政，妄誅。填星出其角，為旱。填星在四方宿，當如其方色，吉；失色而角，表為憂；赤為旱；白為兵；黑有死喪。填星失色，五角、即有戰；若色黃而有九芒，有大水，不乃天裂地動。填星黑角，則水；赤角、有兵，若旱；黃角，有土功事。”

The Tian Gao Shu says: When the planet Tianming appears with two blackpointed rays, there will be floods; if it appears with a bluepointed rays, there will be worries about military affairs; if it appears with a whitepointed rays, there will be mourning; if it appears with a redpointed rays, enemies will invade our cities; if it appears with a yellowpointed rays, there will be disputes over land. The Jingzhou Zhan says: When the planet Tianming appears with sevenpointed rays and shines brightly, the queen consort will dominate the court, and carry out excessive punishments. When Tianming emitspointed rays, it indicates drought. When Tianming moves through the four cardinal directions, its color should match the color of the direction (east blue, south red, west white, north black), which is auspicious; if it loses its proper color and producespointed rays, it indicates disaster; red indicates drought; white indicates war; black indicates death and mourning. If Tianming loses its color and produces fivepointed rays, there will be warfare; if it is yellow and produces nine芒光, there will be great floods, or else there will be a split in the sky or an earthquake. When Tianming appears with blackpointed rays, it indicates water; with redpointed rays, there will be military affairs or drought; with yellowpointed rays, there will be construction projects involving earth and wood.

甘氏曰：“填星失次，而上二舍三舍，是謂大盈；有王命不成，不乃大水。失次而下二舍，是謂縮；女后有威，其歲不復，不乃天裂，若地動。”甘氏曰：“填星緩，則不逮；急，當過舍；逆則占。”班固《天文志》曰：“填星盈，為主不寧；縮有軍不復。”《荊州占》曰：“填星退舍為縮，所次之國凶。”《黃帝占》曰：“填星見東方，一歲行二舍，吏民相將縮，所次之國凶。”

The Gan school said: When the planet Jupiter moves ahead by two or three star positions beyond its proper place, this is called "Da Ying" (great excess); it indicates that the monarch's decrees will not be implemented, or there will be a great flood. When Jupiter lags behind by two star positions, this is called "Suo" (retreat); it indicates that the queen's authority will be excessive, and the situation of that year will be difficult to recover, or there will be a sky split or an earthquake. The Gan school also said: If Jupiter moves slowly, it will not reach its proper position; if it moves quickly, it will overstep its proper star position; if it retrogrades, then the meaning should be interpreted accordingly. Ban Gu's "Book of Han: Records of Astronomy" said: When Jupiter moves ahead, it indicates that the monarch will not be at peace; when it lags behind, it indicates that the military will be deployed outside and will not return. The "Jingzhou Divination" said: When Jupiter retreats to the previous star position, it is called "Suo"; the region corresponding to the star position where it stops will suffer misfortune. The "Yellow Emperor's Divination" said: When Jupiter appears in the east and passes over two star positions within a year, officials and common people will all retreat and hesitate, and the region corresponding to the star position where it stops will suffer misfortune.

《黃帝占》曰：“填星見東方，一歲行二舍，吏民相將至退地，諸侯有失邑者。填星西行一舍以上，吏棄法令，民棄其君，子去其父離其鄉里，渡於河海，動地而起矣。填星逆行，天下更王。”《洛書》曰：“填星盈縮，下士逆謀，兵乃生。填星盈縮，地動搖宮；有此類，則亡引也。填星盈縮，九州騷動，四方相賊。”《漢含孳》曰：“陽弱臣逆，則填星盈縮，（陽者，君也）王者禮、義、德、殺、刑盡失，填星乃動而盈；王者以貪擾不寧，大水出。”《文耀鉤》曰：“填星南西行，為畋獵恣；南西者，南多西少也。”《論語識》曰：“填星盈動。國門闔。”

The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: When the planet Tian Star appears in the east and passes over two constellations within a year, officials and common people will collectively flee to other places, and some feudal lords will lose their territories. When the Tian Star moves westward over one constellation or more, officials will abandon the law, common people will forsake their rulers, sons will leave their fathers and their hometowns, and cross rivers and seas, causing chaos and disturbances throughout the land. When the Tian Star moves retrograde, the country will need to change its ruler. The Luo Writing says: When the Tian Star moves ahead or lags behind, lower-ranking officials will plot rebellion, and military calamities will arise. When the Tian Star's movement is out of balance, earthquakes will shake palaces and houses; such signs indicate the end of the dynasty's continuity. When the Tian Star's movement is out of balance, the nine provinces will tremble and be unsettled, and the four directions will fight against each other. The Han Hanzi says: When the yang path weakens and ministers rebel, the Tian Star will move out of balance. When the ruler is inappropriate in rites, morality, virtue, punishment, and law, the Tian Star will move ahead and become restless. When the ruler's greed causes turmoil throughout the land, there will be great floods. The Wen Yao Gou says: When the Tian Star moves toward the southwest, the ruler will indulge in hunting. The term 'southwest' refers to a greater southern component and a lesser western component. The Lun Yu Shi says: When the Tian Star moves ahead and becomes restless, the capital's city gates will be closed.

石氏曰：“填星失次，進則亡地；退則有喪。填星所居久者，其國有德厚，不可以軍；如所居易者（徐廣曰：易猶輕速也）國，其德薄，可侵以土地。填星所居之國吉，未當居而居之，已去而復還居之，其國得地，不乃得女；當居不居，既已居之，又東西去之，國失土，不乃失女；不可舉事用兵，不有土事，若女子之憂，其國可伐；居之久，福祿厚；居之易，福祿薄。”

The Shi school says: When the planet Tian Xing (Filling Star) deviates from its normal constellation, if it moves forward beyond its place, the ruler of the country will lose territory; if it moves backward, there will be mourning or calamity. If Tian Xing stays for a long time in a particular constellation, the country corresponding to that constellation will have deep virtue and benevolence, and it is not advisable to attack it. If Tian Xing stays briefly or moves quickly in a country's constellation, that country has shallow virtue and can be invaded. When Tian Xing is in a constellation corresponding to a country, if it is supposed to stay but does not, or stays and then moves east or west, the country will lose territory or lose a woman. If it is not supposed to stay but does, or stays and then returns, the country will gain territory or gain a woman. At such times, one should not take military action, for it will either involve construction projects or troubles related to women. This country can be attacked. If Tian Xing stays for a long time, the country will have abundant blessings and favors; if it stays briefly, the country will have shallow blessings and favors.

巫咸曰：“填星，盈、失次、退地；白有喪；角為爭；大為得地；小為失地。填星之居宿國，五歲若六歲、四歲，其君強固，安其所；去者，其君憂也。填星亂行，人主且失地，使之不然；無淫亂於樂，無見諸侯客，無出遊，如是則止。”《海中占》曰：“填星去宿，天子不立后；去宿南數十尺，女主不用事，若大水；去其宿北數十尺，女主當之，若大旱；主好畋獵，走狗馳馬，出入不時，賜與不當，則填星失宿；民多病，歲多大風，黍稷無實。”

Wu Xian said: When the planet Tian Xing moves ahead of its proper position, departs from its assigned mansion, and loses its place, these are signs of improper movement. If the planet appears pale in color, it indicates mourning; if it produces apointed rays, it indicates conflict; if it becomes larger, it indicates gaining territory; if it becomes smaller, it indicates losing territory. When Tian Xing stops in the mansion corresponding to a particular country's territory, and remains there for five, six, or four years, the ruler of that country will be strong and stable, enjoying his position. But once Tian Xing leaves, the ruler will face troubles. If Tian Xing moves erratically, the ruler will lose territory. To prevent this, the ruler should not indulge in music and entertainment, should not receive foreign envoys, and should not go out for pleasure, thus the calamity will be averted. The "Sea Divination" says: When Tian Xing leaves its mansion, the Son of Heaven cannot appoint a queen. If Tian Xing leaves its mansion and moves south by dozens of feet, the queen will not be in power, or there will be a great flood. If Tian Xing leaves its mansion and moves north by dozens of feet, the queen will suffer disaster, or there will be a great drought. If the ruler enjoys hunting, keeps dogs, rides horses, and goes out at inappropriate times, and gives rewards improperly, Tian Xing will lose its mansion. Thus the people will suffer many illnesses, there will be many strong winds in the year, and millet and sorghum will not bear grain.

京房曰：“人君內無仁義，外多華飾，則填星失度，東西叛逆；不救，必憂霜雪；其救也，治社稷明常，近方直，親厚重之人，災消矣。”（《荊州占》曰：不救，有雷雹、山崩、地坼之災也。）郗萌曰：“人君宰相，簡鬼神，廢禱祀，毀宗朝、社稷，即填星逆行，色變，地動。填星逆行，有白衣之會；逆行一舍，為水。填星超舍而前，東行一歲二舍，諸侯有歸國者。填星逆行二舍，有兵，六十日大赦。填星逆行三舍，有兵，六十日大赦，填星逆行三舍，為政者死。以季夏戊子日侯填星，其色變，行不如常，行失也。”《淮南子》曰：“填星一宿，當居而不居，其國亡地；未當居而居之，其國增地，歲熟。”

Jing Fang said: If the ruler lacks benevolence and righteousness within, but displays excessive ceremonial forms on the outside, the planet Tianming will move out of its proper course, wandering east and west against the usual order; if not corrected, there will certainly be worries about frost and snow. The method of correction is: to properly maintain the ancestral and state sacrifices, to clearly establish the regular laws, to approach upright and honest officials, and to cherish those who are sincere and earnest. Then the calamity will be eliminated. (Original note: The "Jingzhou Divination" says that if not corrected, there will be thunderstorms, hail, mountain collapses, and earth fissures.) Xi Meng said: If the ruler and his ministers neglect the spirits, abandon prayers and sacrifices, destroy the ancestral temples and state altars, then the planet Tianming will retrograde and change color, and there will be an earthquake. When Tianming retrogrades, there will be funerals and gatherings; if it retrogrades for one night, there will be water disasters. If Tianming moves ahead beyond its proper constellation and proceeds eastward, covering two constellations in a year, there will be some princes returning to their own countries. If Tianming retrogrades for two constellations, there will be military affairs, and a general amnesty will occur within sixty days. If Tianming retrogrades for three constellations, there will be military affairs, and a general amnesty will occur within sixty days; if Tianming retrogrades for three constellations, the person in power will die. On the Wu Zi day of the season of the sixth month, observe the movement of Tianming. If its color changes or its movement deviates from the usual course, it is considered a loss of proper conduct. The "Huainanzi" says: When Tianming is in a certain constellation, if it should stay but does not, the country corresponding to that constellation will lose land; if it should not stay but does, the country will gain land and have a good harvest.

《荊州占》曰：“人君、宰相、大臣，治宮室，為臺榭，內淫溢，夫婦無別，淫女用事，褻群神而簡宗廟；則填星逆行，變色，殃至地動；無救，則枉矢出，民疫飢。女主淫溢者，填星逆行入陰；外淫溢者，逆行入陽；逆行入陰，旱；入陽、水；逆行十五度以上，女主坐亡之。填星逆行不執，為殃、為賊。填星盈出，其色蒼白，喪。王者德重，填星居之；女主德薄，填星離宿；一曰當居不居，其國以水亡。填星應居之而去，其分饑荒，流滿四方；若居之而不安，不可興土功，不可舉大眾。

The *Jingzhou Divination* says: If the sovereign, ministers, and high officials greatly construct palaces and build pavilions and terraces, and if there is excessive indulgence within the palace, with men and women not distinguishing between their roles, and if immoral women hold power, and if they despise the gods and neglect the ancestral temples, then the planet Tian (Filler Star) will retrograde and change color, and calamity will spread to earthquakes. If this is not corrected, there will be a "wrong arrow" (a meteor resembling an arrow) shooting out, causing the people to suffer from plague and famine. If the imperial harem is indulgent, the planet Tian will retrograde into the Yin Path (north of the Yellow Path); if the outer court is indulgent, it will retrograde into the Yang Path (south of the Yellow Path). Retrograding into the Yin Path indicates drought; into the Yang Path indicates flooding. If the retrograde movement exceeds fifteen degrees, the imperial harem will be punished and perish. When the planet Tian retrogrades and does not follow its normal course, it signifies calamity and disorder. If the planet Tian moves ahead beyond its course, and appears pale, it indicates mourning. When the sovereign has great virtue, the planet Tian remains in its proper region; when the imperial harem has shallow virtue, the planet Tian departs from its original constellation. Another view is: if the planet Tian should stay but does not, the country will perish due to flooding. If the planet Tian should stay but departs, the region will suffer from famine and homeless people will spread throughout the land; if it stays but is unstable, then construction should not be undertaken and large-scale conscription of the people should not be carried out.

填星亂行，王者無德，女主不仁，淫放外遊，出入無度；此惡之所致，人君修德以禳之，則可無咎。填星行舍，居其南、居其北；若去之疾，其分不可用兵，必受殃；若居之而去，更反守之，分增地。填星離宿一丈，之陽，女主不用事；去宿一丈，之陰，女主死。填星行順道，陰陽和；若不順道，去舍南北若一丈，女主不治；一曰王者不立后。

The movement of the planet Tian Xing is disordered because the king lacks virtue, the queen consort is unkind, indulgent, and engages in licentious activities while going out for pleasure, without restraint; this is a result of evil deeds. If the king cultivates virtue to appease it, he will avoid calamity. When Tian Xing reaches a certain star, it may deviate to the south or the north of that star. If it departs quickly, the corresponding region should not be attacked, for attacking it will bring disaster. If it departs and then returns to stay at that star, the corresponding region will expand in territory. If Tian Xing moves one zhang away from its original star toward the southern direction (yang path), the queen consort will not be in power. If it moves one zhang away toward the northern direction (yin path), the queen consort will die. If Tian Xing moves along the correct path, the balance of yin and yang is harmonious. If it deviates north or south by about one zhang from its original star, the queen consort will not be in charge; another interpretation says the king has not appointed a queen.

填星失次，上次二舍，大水出；上三舍，則天裂、地陷；逆一舍巳上，吏出，人民棄妻子，去其邑；星東行二舍，分失地；星若亂行，人主失土；無淫放，無出遊，無興宮室，則可以免。填星行失次，逆一舍至二舍，其國饑荒，人民流亡，去其鄉。填星主土，以填四方，其行於列客所干，年不入。填星出北方，宿中舉兵者不利；出東方，利用兵國強；出南方，宿下有兵者亡地；出西方，宿兵起。填星逆行入陰，內事逆；行入陽，外事逆。”

The planet Tian Xing (Fill Star) loses its proper position among the mansions, and if it advances two mansions ahead, there will be great flooding; if it advances three mansions, the sky will split open and the earth will sink. If it moves retrograde by one mansion or more, officials will flee, and the people will abandon their wives and children, leaving their cities. If the Fill Star moves eastward by two mansions, the territory of that region will be lost. If the Fill Star's movement is disorderly, the ruler will lose his territory. As long as there is no indulgence, no going out for pleasure, and no great construction of palaces, disaster can be avoided. If the Fill Star moves out of order and retrogrades by one to two mansions, the territory of that region will suffer famine and the people will flee their homeland. The Fill Star governs the earth element and is used to stabilize the four directions. If it is interfered with by other stars or guest stars, the year will have no harvest. If the Fill Star appears in the north, the region corresponding to that mansion will be disadvantageous for military action; if it appears in the east, it is favorable for military action and the country will be strong; if it appears in the south, the region corresponding to that mansion will lose its territory; if it appears in the west, there will be military conflict in the region corresponding to that mansion. If the Fill Star moves retrograde into the Yin path, internal court affairs will become chaotic; if it moves into the Yang path, external court affairs will become chaotic.

甘氏曰：“填星晝見，臣謀君，女主憂，上相死。填星經天而逆行，天下更政，地大動。”巫咸曰：“填星不經天，經天更封。”《荊州占》曰：“填星起左角，逆行至軫，是經天；其下國當者亡地，戰不勝。”

The Gan school says: The planet Jupiter is visible during the day, indicating that ministers may plot against the sovereign, the queen mother will have worries, and the chief minister will die. When Jupiter 'passes through the sky' (visible during the day and crossing the zenith, which ancient people regarded as a great omen), and moves retrograde, the country will change its government and a great earthquake will occur. Wu Xian says: Normally, Jupiter does not pass through the sky; once it does, the borders of states will change. The "Jingzhou Divination" says: When Jupiter starts from the left angle and moves retrograde to the Chariot mansion, this is called passing through the sky; the country corresponding to the position below it will lose its territory and will not win in battle.

《龍魚河圖》曰：“夫填星主得土之慶，其星下為虛星之神。”巫咸曰：“填星下為杜嫗，止於空城。”（黃石公《三略》曰：初張良遇神老於路，則脫履，命良取之，良跪而進之，老曰：年少可教。與良三期，而後付三略焉，良受書，老告之曰：後穀城見有黃石，乃是吾也，遂號曰黃石焉，然則黃石填星之精，黃者填之色也，石者星之質也，填為土德，漢為火行，子以王事告其母也，神老杜嫗同，故備其說。）

The Dragon and Fish River Chart says: The planet Tianxing governs the joy of acquiring land, and when this star descends to the human world, it becomes the spirit of the Xuxing. Wu Xian says: When Tianxing descends to the human world, it transforms into "Du Yu," dwelling in an empty city. (Original book note: The Duke of Yellow Stone's "Three Strategies" records that Zhang Liang once met an extraordinary old man on the road. The old man deliberately took off his shoes and dropped them by the bridge, ordering Zhang Liang to fetch them. Zhang Liang knelt down and returned the shoes, and the old man said, "You are a person who can be taught." They made an agreement to meet three times, and only then did the old man hand over the "Three Strategies" to him. After receiving the book, the old man told Zhang Liang that he would later see a yellow stone in Gucheng, and that would be me. Thus, he was called the Duke of Yellow Stone. From this, we can see that the yellow stone is the essence of Tianxing: yellow is the color of Tianxing, and stone is the texture of the star's body. Tianxing belongs to the earth element, while the Han dynasty belonged to the fire element. Fire is the son of earth, so this is the son reporting the affairs of the kingdom to his mother. The extraordinary old man and "Du Yu" are the same entity, so this explanation is also recorded here.)

《荊州占》曰：“填星失色生足，女主退，若被罪。”《黃帝占》曰：“填星大如狼星而黃，天下之兵雖會，其國不亡。填星始出大，而日愈小，所在國不利；始出小，而日愈大，所在國利。”巫咸曰：“填星大，人主將昌、地廣，民人惶惶；繫心而行，不憂其家，乃憂其王。”《易緯》曰：“土令廢，填消食於戊己以春月。”巫咸曰：“填星小，人主有憂；使之不然，無聽鼓鍾之音，民人有罪者釋之；如是，則止；不者，民多死，有土功，失地。”《荊州占》曰：“填星細微，女主失勢。”《黃帝占》曰：“填星旁有小星守填星，臣欲弒主，小星入填星中，事立決；小星去，臣利；填星往復小星，主得臣；見東方，東方有之；見西方，西方有之；見南方，南主有之；見北方，北方有之；皆以所在之宿名其國。”

The *Jingzhou Divination* says: When the planet Tianxing loses its original color and a foot-like tail appears below it, the queen consort will be dismissed or punished. The *Yellow Emperor's Divination* says: When Tianxing appears as large as the star Tianlang and has a yellow color, although the armies of the country will gather, the country corresponding to its position will not be destroyed. When Tianxing first appears large and then becomes smaller day by day, the country where it is located will suffer misfortune; when it first appears small and then becomes larger day by day, the country where it is located will be beneficial. *Wuxian* says: When Tianxing becomes larger, the ruler will prosper and expand his territory, but the people will be anxious and unsettled; they will be preoccupied with state affairs and run about, not worrying about their own families, but only about their ruler. The *Yi Wei* says: When the rule of the earth element is neglected, Tianxing will be obscured and hidden on the days of Wu and Ji, and in the spring months. *Wuxian* says: When Tianxing becomes smaller, the ruler will have troubles; to prevent this, one should not listen to the sounds of bells and drums, and should pardon the criminals among the people; if this is done, the calamity will cease; otherwise, many people will die, there will be much construction, and the country will lose its land. The *Jingzhou Divination* says: When Tianxing is faint and weak, the queen consort will lose power. The *Yellow Emperor's Divination* says: When there is a small star accompanying Tianxing, it indicates that ministers may attempt to kill the king; when the small star enters Tianxing, the matter will be carried out immediately; when the small star leaves, it is favorable for the ministers; when Tianxing approaches the small star, it indicates that the ruler will subdue the ministers. This celestial phenomenon appearing in the east will correspond to events in the east; appearing in the west, events in the west; appearing in the south, events in the south; appearing in the north, events in the north—each case will be determined by the star mansion where Tianxing is located.

《離書》曰：“填星動溢，地侯之災；山崩裂。填星動盛，不吉，天下亂畔。”《元命包》曰：“填星動，則水決江，海破山，命曰：地侯躍天，雨絲絲；偽言咄咀，民作船；主急去，地吐泉，魚御勉。（宋均曰：一作龜、《晉陽秋》曰：孝武大元三年七月乙亥，填星搖，三年六月，大水。）《春秋緯》曰：“黃星動，海水浮，三公及左右謀。”《鉤命決》曰：“天水失信，則玄龜不見，填星大動。”石氏曰：“禮、德、義、刑、殺盡失，則填星為之動。填星動搖、離舍，使者交接道路。”《荊州占》曰：“填星動，女主有怒，若有怨。”郗萌曰：“填星變色逆行，相凌而斗，會客環守，其國無道。”《荊州占》曰：“填星與列舍斗，不出其年，分亡地、死將。”

The Li Shu says: When the planet of filling (Fill Star) moves and its light shines brightly, it is the calamity of the "Earth Master" (since the Fill Star governs the earth, it is called the Earth Master); there will be mountain collapses and earth fissures. If the Fill Star moves greatly, it is not auspicious, and there will be rebellion throughout the land. The Yuan Meng Bao says: When the Fill Star moves, there will be breaches in the rivers and the sea breaking through the mountains. Its divination phrase is: The star of the Earth Master leaps in the sky, light rain falls continuously; rumors spread ceaselessly, the people hurry to build boats; the ruler urgently departs, springs of water burst forth from the ground, even fish find it hard to rest. (Original note: Song Jun said, "fish" is sometimes written as "turtle" in the text. The Jin Yang Chou records that in the third year of Taiyuan of Emperor Xiaowu of the Jin Dynasty, in July of the Yihai month, the Fill Star moved; in June of the third year, there was a great flood.) The Chūnqiū Wěi says: When the yellow star (i.e., the Fill Star) moves, the sea rises and overflows, and the three ministers and the close ministers of the ruler plot secretly. The Gōu Mìng Jué says: When heaven and the water virtue lose their trust, the black turtle does not appear, and the Fill Star moves greatly. The Shi school says: When rites, virtue, righteousness, punishment, and execution are all improper, the Fill Star will thus move. When the Fill Star moves unpredictably and departs from its original constellation, messengers will travel along the roads to convey messages. The Jingzhou Zhan says: When the Fill Star moves, the queen of the inner court will be angry, or she will hold a grudge. Xi Meng says: When the Fill Star changes color and moves backward, it competes and fights with other stars, and together with a guest star, it surrounds and guards, the country will have a corrupt government. The Jingzhou Zhan says: When the Fill Star fights with the stars in its constellation, within this year, the territory of that region will be lost, and its generals will be lost.

《洛書》曰：“黃帝起，填星珥魚。”（氣如魚形，在填星旁。）《黃帝占》曰：“填星旁有雲如狗狀，有土功，期一月。”《孝經內記》曰：“填星生氣而為黃穰者，明日大溫，旦霧夕雨，見此者，不出五日，五穀賤，所見之國尤甚；不出三旬，中民多疾病，亦死。”《荊州占》曰：“填星出穰氣，長四丈。”（一曰雨土。）巫咸曰：“填星自暈，有土功，有喪。”郗萌曰：“填星出彗，所居下國，受兵亡地，不出一年。”

The Luo Writing says: When the Yellow Emperor rose to power, there was a cloud-like formation shaped like a fish appearing beside the planet Saturn. The original commentary notes that this cloud-like formation resembled a fish and appeared beside Saturn. The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: When there is a cloud-like formation shaped like a dog beside Saturn, it indicates there will be construction projects, lasting about a month. The Inner Record of the Filial Classic says: When Saturn emits a yellow cloud-like formation called 'Rang Qi' (a purifying qi), the next day the weather becomes very warm, there is morning mist and evening rain; when this celestial phenomenon occurs, within five days, grain prices will drop, and the country corresponding to this celestial region will show this clearly; within thirty days, many people in the country will fall ill, and some will die. The Jiangzhou Divination says: When Saturn emits a Rang Qi that extends four zhang in length. (Original commentary notes: Another interpretation is that dust falls from the sky.) Wu Xian says: When Saturn itself emits a halo, it indicates there will be construction projects and funerals. Xi Meng says: When Saturn emits a comet-like bright light, the country below it will suffer from warfare and lose territory, and this will happen within a year.

《黃帝占》曰：“填星犯左角，大戰。一曰軍死。”郗萌曰：“填星入角亢，去左角三尺若一尺，與角並出左角一寸，期丙丁日中，地動。”《春秋圖》曰：“填星逆行角中，王后有異喜。”郗萌曰：“填星逆行角，女主出入不時。”石氏曰：“填星在左角，失行至房，侯王皇帝，出入不時，王者有所誅。”《春秋圖》曰：“填星之角，天下有徙家，為二千石者。”《荊州占》曰：“填星起右角，之左角，尉理受執；填星乘右角，后族家若將相有坐法死者。”

The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: When the planet Tian Star invades the left star of the Horn mansion, there will be a great battle. Another account says that the army will be destroyed. Xi Meng says: When the Tian Star enters the area of the Horn and the Head mansions, and is three feet or one foot away from the left star of the Horn, and is aligned with the star of the Horn while revealing the left star by an inch, if this occurs on the noon of the Jia or Yi days, an earthquake will happen. The Spring and Autumn Diagram says: When the Tian Star moves retrograde within the Horn mansion, the queen mother will have an extraordinary joy. Xi Meng says: When the Tian Star moves retrograde in the Horn mansion, the queen mother will not follow the proper time for entering or leaving the palace. The Shi school says: When the Tian Star is in the left star of the Horn mansion and moves out of its proper path to reach the Room mansion, the princes and the emperor will not follow the proper time for entering or leaving the palace, and the king will carry out executions. The Spring and Autumn Diagram says: When the Tian Star is in the Horn mansion, there will be people moving their households and families throughout the country, and these people will all be officials of the second rank. The Jingzhou Divination says: When the Tian Star starts from the right star of the Horn mansion and moves toward the left star, officials in charge of criminal justice will be arrested; when the Tian Star invades the right star of the Horn mansion, members of the royal family or high officials will die due to law violations.

郗萌曰：“填星乘右角，為旱；乘左角，為水，為兵。填星留西角間，軍與國廷間邊境不通。填星逆乘凌左右角，其為日食，國有大變。填星出入天門中，兵在外罷。填星宿角不明者，女主少子。”《孝經緯》曰：“帝誠孝，填角並。”《黃帝占》曰：“填星出中道，天下太平；出陽道，旱；陰道、多雨。”陳卓曰：“填星出陰道，多陰謀。”《荊州占》曰：“填星出入留舍角，六十日不下，天下多暴獄；七十日不下，天下有急令；八十日不下，一國有急事。”

Xi Meng said: The planet Tianxing (Fill Star) invading the right horn mansion indicates drought; invading the left horn mansion indicates water and military affairs. If Tianxing is detained between the western side of the horn mansion, there will be blockage of roads between the military and the court, and between the border regions. If Tianxingretrograde (moves retrograde) and invades both the left and right horn mansions, there will be an eclipse of the sun, and great changes will occur in the country. If Tianxing enters and exits the gap between the left and right horn mansions (the "Heavenly Gate"), the armies outside will soon disband. If Tianxing enters the horn mansion and its light is dim, the ruler's concubine will have few offspring. The "Xiaojingwei" says: If the emperor is sincere in his filial piety, Tianxing will align with the horn mansion. The "Huangdi Zhan" says: If Tianxing moves along the central path of the Yellow Path, the world will be peaceful; if it moves along the southern side (Yang Dao), there will be drought; if it moves along the northern side (Yin Dao), there will be much rain. Chen Zhuo said: If Tianxing moves along the Yin Dao, there will be many conspiracies. The "Jingzhou Zhan" says: If Tianxing appears, stays, or enters the horn mansion area, and does not leave for sixty days, there will be many wrongful lawsuits throughout the country; if it does not leave for seventy days, there will be urgent imperial edicts; if it does not leave for eighty days, there will be urgent matters in a certain state.

石氏曰：“填星守角，萬物不成。填星守左角，天門，多直人。填星守右角，天子好遊獵，國亡。填星守天門中，國弱，四夷侵。”甘氏曰：“填星守角星，后有喜。”巫咸曰：“填星守角，為水，為兵。”《海中占》曰：“填星守角，五穀多傷，人民流亡。填星守左角、右角，其色潤澤，即歲大熟；其逆行，從一宿得二宿，穀貴一倍；從二宿得三宿，三倍；其還立賤。填星左右角，其色黃，小旱，民小厲；其逆行，即旱；其退，立雨。”

The Shi school says: When the planet Filling Star guards the Horn mansion, all things cannot mature. When the Filling Star guards the left horn and the heavenly gate, there are many upright people in the world. When the Filling Star guards the right horn, the emperor indulges in hunting, and the country will perish. When the Filling Star is in the heavenly gate, the state is weak, and the four directions of barbarians invade. The Gan school says: When the Filling Star guards the stars of the Horn mansion, the empress will be joyful. Wu Xian says: When the Filling Star guards the Horn mansion, it presages water and military affairs. The Sea Divination says: When the Filling Star guards the Horn mansion, the five grains suffer much damage, and the people scatter and flee. When the Filling Star guards the left and right horns, and the star color is moist, there will be a great harvest in that year; if it retrogrades, moving from one mansion to two, the grain price rises by one fold; if it moves from two to three, the price rises by three folds; when it resumes its normal motion, the grain price drops immediately. When the Filling Star is in the left and right horns, and the star color is yellow, there will be a small drought and minor epidemics among the people; if it retrogrades, there will be drought; when it finishes retrograding, rain comes immediately.

郗萌曰：“填星守角，將有憂；一曰有土功之事。填星守左角，更政令；填星守角，為中兵大臣也。”《玉曆》曰：“填星守角，天子微弱，賢人為輔臣。”郗萌曰：“填星出角若守角，兵起西方。”甘氏曰：“填星犯守角，強臣不伏，若更政令。”郗萌曰：“填星守犯凌右角，為有禍咎。”

Xi Meng said: The planet Tian Xing is stationed at the Horn mansion, indicating that generals will have worries; another interpretation suggests there will be matters concerning earth and wood construction. If Tian Xing is stationed at the left horn, there will be changes in government orders; if Tian Xing is stationed at the Horn mansion, it indicates military movements within the capital, and the matter will involve ministers. The Jade Calendar says: When Tian Xing is stationed at the Horn mansion, the emperor's power is weak, and a virtuous person will be appointed as a minister to assist in governance. Xi Meng said: If Tian Xing departs from or is stationed at the Horn mansion, military affairs will arise from the western direction. The Gan school said: When Tian Xing invades and is stationed at the Horn mansion, a powerful minister will not obey orders, or there will be changes in government orders. Xi Meng said: If Tian Xing is stationed at or invades the right horn, there will be calamity and misfortune.
