The "Hongfan Wuxing Zhuan" recorded: In the first year of Shiyuan of Emperor Zhao of Han, the Tianfeng star appeared in the west, emerging from the eastern gate of Tianshi Yu, passing through the star of He Gu, and entering the Shi Xu mansion. The "Jingzhou Divination" said: Where the candle star appears, there will be great bandits rising up but failing. The "Jingzhou Divination" also said: If the candle star is green, it indicates sorrow and ill omen; if it is red, it indicates beauty and good fortune; if it is yellow, it indicates a bright light covering the earth; if it is white, it indicates joy and celebration. Ban Gu's "Book of Han: Records of Celestial Phenomena" records: In the fourth month of the first year of Shizhao, during the reign of Emperor Zhao of Han, the candle star appeared between the Qiu Xu and Lou Xu constellations. The divination text said: There will be construction projects, death of the Hu people, and peace in the border cities. The next year, the court built the Liao Dong Xuantu Commandery; in February, General Dule Fu Mingyou defeated the Wuhuan and returned.

《荊州占》曰：“蓬星，一名王星，狀如夜火之光，多即至四五，少即一二；一曰：蓬星在西南，修數丈，左右銳，出而易處。”《聖洽符》曰：“有星，其色黃白，方不過三尺，名曰蓬星，見則天下道術士當有出者，布衣之士貴，天下太平，五穀成，人民寧，期一年，遠二年。”甘氏曰：“蓬星出北斗，諸侯有奪地，以地亡，有兵起星所房者，期不出三年。”郗萌曰：“蓬星出太微中，天子立王，期不出三年。”

Another account says: The Pong Star appears in the southwest direction, reaching several zhang in length, with sharp ends on both sides, and after appearing, it will change its position. The *Shengqia Fubu* says: There is a star, yellow and white in color, no larger than three chi in size, called the Pong Star; when it appears, there will be a person of great spiritual skill emerging in the world, common scholars will be honored, the world will be peaceful, and there will be a good harvest of the five grains, with people living in security. This will be fulfilled within one year, or up to two years. Gan De says: When the Pong Star appears in the Big Dipper, some dukes will lose their territories, and some will perish due to their territories; where the Pong Star lingers in the star mansion, there will be military conflicts, and this will be fulfilled within three years. Xi Meng says: When the Pong Star appears in the Taimei Enclosure, the Son of Heaven will appoint dukes and kings, and this will be fulfilled within three years.

Ban Gu's "Book of Han: Records of Astronomy" states that during the first year of Emperor Zhao's reign, officials such as Liang Chenghui, a eunuch of the Han court, and Wu Moren, a star observer for the Yan Prince, both saw the蓬 star emerging from the eastern gate of the Western Market Enclosure, passing through the River Drum Star, and entering the Encampment Mansion. Liang Chenghui said: When the蓬 star appears, within sixty days, or at the latest within three years, there will be a rebellious minister executed in the marketplace. The "Book of Han: Records of Astronomy" also records that on the sixth month of the third year of Emperor Jing's Zhongyuan period, on the day of Renshen, the蓬 star was located south of the Room Mansion, about two zhang away from it, with a size similar to a vessel holding two dou, and a white color. On the day of Guihai, it moved to the northeast of the Heart Mansion, about one zhang long. On the day of Jiazi, it was north of the Tail Mansion, about six zhang away. On the day of Dingmao, it was north of the Winnowing Basket Mansion, close to the Milky Way, slightly smaller, but still as big as a peach when it disappeared. It vanished on the day of Renshen, lasting a total of ten days. The divination text says: When the蓬 star appears, there will certainly be a rebellious minister. The area between the Room Mansion and the Heart Mansion is the palace of the Son of Heaven. At that time, Prince Liang wanted to become the successor of the Han dynasty, and sent people to assassinate the outspoken minister Yuan Wang. The Han dynasty executed the officials of Liang's state, using the斧钺 punishment. Prince Liang was frightened, rode in a cloth cart into the pass, and knelt down before the斧钺 to apologize, thus avoiding disaster.

《荊州占》曰：“蓬星出北斗魁中，王者坐賊死，若大臣諸侯有受誅者。”《荊州占》曰：“蓬星出，見於東方、東南、東北，不大旱則大水，五穀不收，糴貴十倍，人相食。”《荊州占》曰：“蓬星出司命，王者疾死。”何法盛《中興書》曰：“晉孝武太元二十年九月，有蓬星如粉絮，東南行，歷女虛危，至哭星。明年而烈宗崩。”韓楊曰：“蓬星出北斗中，大臣諸侯有受兵者。”

The *Jingzhou Divination* further says: When the蓬 star appears in the position of the Director of Destiny, it indicates the king will die from illness. Ho Fa-sheng's *Records of the Middle Revival of the Jin Dynasty* states: In the twentieth year of Emperor Xiaowu of the Jin Dynasty's Taoyuan era, in September, there appeared a蓬 star resembling a white fluffy ball, moving toward the southeast, passing through the Girl Mansion, Emptiness Mansion, and Rooftop Mansion, and reaching the Weeping Star. The next year, Emperor Xiaowu (posthumous title: Liezong) died. Han Yang says: When the蓬 star appears within the Big Dipper, it indicates ministers and princes will suffer from military calamities.

司馬遷《天官書》曰：“長庚，如一疋布著天。”（此長庚非《詩》所謂西有長庚者。）《天官書》曰：“長庚見則兵起。”

Shi Ji's Tian Gao Shu says: The star Chang Geng, which is an evil star, appears like a piece of cloth attached to the sky. The Tian Gao Shu also says: When Chang Geng appears, military actions will arise.

巫咸曰：“四填星，出陽，去地六丈餘。”司馬遷《天官書》曰：“四填出地可四丈。”《荊州占》曰：“四填星，大而赤，去地二丈，當以夜半子時出。”《荊州占》曰：“四填星見，十月而兵起。”又曰：“四填星見，四隅皆為兵起其下。”

Wu Xian said: The four filling stars appear in the yang position, at a distance of more than six zhang from the ground. Sima Qian's "Records of the Grand Historian: Book of Celestial Officials" says: The four filling stars are about four zhang away from the ground. The "Jingzhou Divination" says: The four filling stars are large and red, appearing two zhang above the ground, and should appear at the middle of the Zi hour at night. The "Jingzhou Divination" also says: When this star appears, warfare will arise after ten months. There is another saying: This star is called "Four Filling," taking its name from the meaning of filling the four corners; whenever it appears in a particular corner, warfare will arise in the area below that corner.

《黃帝占》曰：“地維藏光者，五行之氣，出於四季，土之氣也。”《荊州占》曰：“有星出，大而赤，去地二三丈，如月始出，是謂地維藏光。”《黃帝占》曰：“四隅有星，望之，可去地四丈，而赤黃搖動，其類填星，是謂中央之野星，出於四隅，名曰地維藏光。出東北隅，天下大水；出東南隅，天下大旱；出西南隅，則有兵起；出西北隅，則天下亂，兵大起。”《天官書》曰：“地維藏光見，下有亂者亡，有德者昌。”

The Jingzhou Zhàn says: A star appears, large and red, two or three zhang above the ground, resembling the newly risen moon, which is called "di wei cangguang." The Huangdi Zhàn says: Stars appear at the four corners of the sky, about four zhang above the ground, yellowish red and flickering, resembling the planet Venus, which is the central plain star, appearing at the four corners, called "di wei cangguang." If it appears from the northeast corner, there will be great floods; if it appears from the southeast corner, there will be great drought; if it appears from the southwest corner, there will be military conflicts; if it appears from the northwest corner, there will be chaos and large-scale warfare. The Shiji · Tian Gao Shu says: When "di wei cangguang" appears, those who cause disorder will perish, while those with virtue will flourish. It is called "di wei" because ancient people regarded the four corners as the ropes that hold the earth together; it is called "cangguang" because its light is restrained and not bright, only visible near the horizon.

《黃帝占》曰：“女帛者，五星氣合之變，出東北，木水氣合也。”石氏曰：“東北有星，長三丈而出，水水氣交，名曰女帛，見則天下兵起，若有大喪。”《荊州占》曰：“東北有三丈星出，名曰女帛，女帛出，天下有大喪。”

Shi Shen says: In the Northeast direction, there is a star that appears, three zhang in length, formed by the meeting of water energy with water energy, named Nu Bo; when it appears, there will be warfare across the land, or a great calamity. The Jingzhou Divination says: In the Northeast direction, a star three zhang in length appears, named Nu Bo; when Nu Bo appears, there will be a great calamity throughout the land.

The荆州 Divination says: In the southeast direction, three stars appear, named the盗星; when it appears, the world will experience great bandits and robbers spreading everywhere, with continuous incidents of robbery and plunder. The reason this star is called the盗星 is precisely to signify the meaning of seizing and plundering.

《黃帝占》曰：“積陵者，五星氣合之變，出西北，金水氣合也。”石氏曰：“西南有星，長三丈而出，（《荊州占》曰：有三星乃大星出。）金水氣合，名曰積陵，見則其下隕霜，兵水並起，五穀不成，人民飢。”（《荊州占》曰：天下谷十倍。）

This is the energy of earth, and it corresponds to the last months of the four seasons, known as the four-corner auspicious star. When it appears in a particular direction, there will be large-scale military actions in that area, and there will also be construction activities. If it appears in the first month, warfare will begin in the tenth month; if it appears in the second month, warfare will begin in the eleventh month; if it appears in the third month, warfare will begin in the seventh month; if it appears in the fourth month, warfare will begin in the ninth month. The time of verification is either near, medium, or distant, corresponding to three, five, or seven years respectively.

《黃帝占》曰：“有星出西北，氣青赤，以環之，中赤外青，名曰昏昌，見則天下兵起，國易政，先起者昌，後起者亡。高十丈，亂一年；高二十丈，亂二年；高三十丈，亂三年。”

The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: If a star appears in the Northwest, with a mixture of red and blue aura surrounding it, red inside and blue outside, it is called Hun Chang. When it appears, wars will break out across the land and the country will change its ruling power. Those who start the rebellion first will prosper, while those who start later will perish. If the star is ten zhang high, the turmoil will last for one year; if twenty zhang high, two years; if thirty zhang high, three years.

甘氏曰：“有星出西北，狀如有環，名之曰華星，華星見西南，諸侯有失地西北國。”

Gan De said: If a star appears in the Northwest, appearing as if it has a circular halo around it, it is called Hua Star. If Hua Star appears in the Southwest, then the princes of the countries in the Northwest will lose their lands.

郗萌曰：“有如星非星，狀如削瓜，有勝兵，名曰白星，白星出，為男喪。”

Xi Meng said: There is a celestial phenomenon that resembles a star but is not a star, shaped like a gourd with its skin removed. It indicates the presence of a victorious military force, known as the White Star. When the White Star appears, it signifies the death of a man.

石氏曰：“西北菟昌之星，其有青赤環之有殃；青為水，此星見，天下易。”

Shi Shen said: The Tu Chang star in the northwest, if it is surrounded by green or red aura, there will be calamity; among these, green indicates flood. When this star appears, the world will undergo change.

The Guangya says: Geze is a kind of evil vapor. The Yulü says: The vapor of Geze is red like fire, burning brightly and rising straight to the middle of the sky, with the same color above and below, stretching across the sky from east to west; if it runs from north to south, it is about four or five li long. This is a variation of the planet Mars, indicating military conflict and bloodshed below, and this will be fulfilled within three years. The Records of the Grand Historian, The Book of Celestial Officials says: The star called Geze appears in the shape of rising fire, yellow and white in color, rising from the ground, with a thick base and a sharp top. When it appears, it indicates that there will be a harvest without the need for farming. If there is no construction activity, there will certainly be a great reception of foreign envoys.

Sima Qian's "Records of the Grand Historian: The Book of Celestial Offices" said: When Gui She appears, there must be someone coming to submit to the country.

蕭子顯《晉書》曰：“明帝大明三年十二月，夜有赤氣如牙旗，長短四面，西南最多，（按《天文占》，此為蒙星，一曰刀星，亂之象。）大興末及此再見，王敦、蘇峻之禍，其應切矣。”

Xiao Zixian's "Book of the Jin Dynasty" records that in the third year of Emperor Ming of the Jin Dynasty, during the twelfth lunar month, there was a red light resembling the military flag of a general, long and short, spread out in all directions, with the most appearing in the southwest. In the final years of the Da Xing period, this phenomenon occurred twice, once before and once after this incident. Later, the disorders caused by Wang Dun and Su Jun successively occurred, and the omen was fulfilled very accurately.

《宋書天文志》曰：“宋孝武大明三年正月，夜通天薄雲，四方生赤黃氣，長三尺，乍沒乍見，尋皆消滅。占曰：名蒙星，一曰刀星，天下有兵，戰鬥流血。時南兗州刺史竟陵王誕尋據廣陵反，遣車騎大將軍沈慶之領羽林勁兵及豫州刺史宗谷、徐州刺史劉道降象軍，攻戰及屠城，城內男女道降，梟斬靡遺。七年正月，夜又通天薄雲，四方合，有八氣，蒼白色，長二三尺，乍見乍沒，亦名曰蒙星，一名刀星。占曰：天下有兵。後二年，帝崩，大臣將相誅滅，皇子被害，昭太后崩，四方兵起，公遣諸軍，推鋒外討。”

The "Song Shu · Tianwen Zhi" records that in the third year of Daming of Emperor Xiaowu of the Southern Song Dynasty, in the first lunar month, during the night, there were thin clouds covering the sky, and red-yellow colored clouds appeared in all four directions, extending three feet in length, appearing and disappearing suddenly, and eventually dissipating. The divination text says: this is called "Meng Xing," also known as "Dao Xing," indicating that there will be warfare across the land, with bloodshed in battle. At that time, the governor of Nan'yuzhou, Prince Liu Dan of Jingling, soon rebelled in Guangling, and the court sent the Grand General of Carriages, Shen Qingzhi, to lead the elite troops of the Feather Forest, together with the governor of Yuzhou, Zong Gu, and the governor of Xuzhou, Liu Daoyang, to attack, resulting in the complete destruction of the city, with men and women being beheaded and almost none surviving. In the first lunar month of the seventh year of Daming, again during the night, there were thin clouds covering the sky, and clouds from all four directions converged, forming eight streams of pale blue-white colored clouds, extending two or three feet in length, appearing and disappearing suddenly, also called "Meng Xing," also known as "Dao Xing." The divination text says: there will be warfare across the land. Within the next two years, Emperor Xiaowu died, ministers and generals were executed, princes were killed, the illustrious太后 died, and armies rose up in all directions, with the court dispatching armies to campaign abroad. The reason this phenomenon is called "Meng Xing" is because the color of the clouds is dim and obscure, appearing and disappearing; also, because the clouds are arranged in a line resembling a knife blade, it is also called "Dao Xing." Both occurrences were verified by warfare, so the historians specially recorded them.

天垣星（在角宿中）出月左方，日在甲寅，歲星將出而不出，其與日合二十日，其未出二日，必有災雲，蒼赤黑色三物，厭日之光，青色之星，有兩青方，在其旁出，而生天垣之星，所指之國，國消主死，政星變色而青，期三年。

The star Tian Yuan appears on the left side of the moon. 天樓星（在亢宿中）出月左方，日在甲寅，歲星將出而不出，其與日合三十日，其未出三日，必有災雲，蒼赤黑色三物，厭日之光，青色之星，有兩青方，在其旁出，而生天樓之星，長八十尺，（一本：八丈）所指之國，穀糴大貴，法星變色而青，期三年。

The star Tianlou (Heavenly Tower) appears on the left side of the moon. When the Sun reaches the position of Jiayin and the planet of years should appear but does not, Tianlou combines with the Sun for thirty days. When it is three days away from appearing, there will certainly be ominous clouds in the sky, of three colors: blue, red, and black, which will obscure the sunlight. At this time, a blue star will have two square blue clouds beside it, emerging from the side, thus forming the star Tianlou, which is eighty feet long (another version says eight zhang). The country pointed to by the tip of its芒 will experience a sharp rise in grain prices; at the same time, the "law star" will change to a blue color. This will be verified within three years.

天榬星（在氐宿中）出月左方，日在甲寅，歲星將出而不出，其與日合四十日，其未出四日，必有災雲，蒼赤黑色三物，厭日之光，青色之星，有兩青方，在其旁出，而生天榬星，（一本：長十丈）所宿之國，有立王，（一本云：地）令星變色而青，期三年。

The star Tianlong appears to the left of the moon. When it is four days away from appearing, there will certainly be ominous clouds in the sky, of three colors: blue, red, and black, blocking out the sunlight. At this time, two square-shaped blue clouds appear beside the blue star, thus forming Tianlong. The country where Tianlong stops will soon have a new ruler. At the same time, the star Ling changes to a blue color. This omen will be fulfilled within three years.

首若（一本：真若）星（在房宿中）出月左方，日在甲寅，歲星將出而不出，其與日合五十日，其未出五日，必有災雲，蒼赤黑色三物，厭日之光，青色之星，有兩青方，在其旁出，而生首若之星，六七尺，（一本：六丈）所指之國，亡地，煞星變色而青，期二年，或三年。

The country pointed to by the tip of its light will lose territory; at the same time, the 'kill star' turns blue. This will be verified within two or three years.

天荊星（在心宿中）出月左方，日在甲寅，歲星將出而不出，與日合六十日，其未出六日，必有災雲，蒼赤黑色三物，厭日之光，青色之星，有兩青方，在其旁出，而生天荊之星，所指之國亡，戰不勝，主死，伐星變色而青，期三年。

The star Tian Jing appears to the left of the moon. The country pointed to by the tip of its芒 will perish, fail in warfare, and its ruler will die. At the same time, the star 'Fasheng' turns blue. This will be fulfilled within three years.

天根星（在尾宿中）出月左方，日在甲寅，歲星將出而不出，其與日合七十日，其未出七日，必有災雲，蒼赤黑色三物，厭日之光，青色之星，有兩青方，在其旁出，而生天根之星，所指之國，大亡地，戰，敗星變色而青，期三年。

When it is seven days away from appearing, there will certainly be ominous clouds in the sky, of three colors: blue, red, and black, which will obscure the sunlight. The country pointed to by the tip of its芒 will lose a large area of land and engage in warfare; at the same time, the "defeated star" turns blue. This will be verified within three years.

天槍星（在箕宿中）出月左方，日在甲寅，歲星將出而不出，其與日合八十日，其未出八日，必有災雲，蒼赤黑色三物，厭日之光，青色之星，有兩青方，在其旁出，而生天槍之星，長數丈，所指之國，有兵、大軍破，應星變色而青，期一年。

The star Tianqiang appears to the left of the moon. When the sun reaches the position of Jiayin and the planet Jupiter is supposed to appear but does not, Tianqiang combines with the sun for eighty days. When it is eight days away from appearing, there will certainly be ominous clouds in the sky, of three colors: blue, red, and black, blocking out the sunlight. At this time, two square-shaped blue clouds appear beside the blue star, and thus the star Tianqiang is formed, extending several zhang in length. The country pointed to by the tip of its芒 will suffer military disaster, with a large army defeated. At the same time, the "response star" turns blue. This will come to pass within one year.

端下星（在斗宿中）出月左方，日在壬寅，辰星將出而不出，其與日合二十日，其未出二日，必有災雲，黑黃青色三物，厭日之光，黑色之星，有兩黑方，在其旁出，而生端下之星，所指之國，大破、將死，政星變色而黑，期六月。（一本云：或十二月、一月）

The star known as Duanxia appears on the left side of the moon. When the Sun reaches the position of Renyin and the planet of water (Chen star) is supposed to appear but does not, it merges with the Sun for twenty days. When it is two days away from appearing, there will certainly be ominous clouds in the sky, black, yellow, and green in color, blocking out the sunlight. At this time, a black star appears alongside two square black masses of vapor emerging from the sides, thus forming the Duanxia star. The country pointed to by the tip of its light will be severely attacked, with the commander dying in battle. At the same time, the star of government (Zhengxing) turns black. This omen will be fulfilled within six months. (Another version says it may be twelve months or one month.)

商若（一本云：天蒿）星（在牛宿中）出月左方，日在壬寅，辰星將出而不出，其與日合二十五日，其未出二日，必有災雲，黑黃青色三物，厭日之光，黑色之星，有兩黑方，在其旁出，而生商若之星，長三四尺，所指之國，大水敗、兵起，法星變色而黑，期一年。

The star Shang Ruo (originally noted in the text as another version reads "Tian Hao"; located within the Ox Mansion) appears on the left side of the moon. When the Sun reaches the position of Renyin and the planet Chen Xing is supposed to appear but does not, it merges with the Sun for twenty-five days. When it is two days away from appearing, there will certainly be ominous clouds in the sky, of black, yellow, and green colors, blocking out the sunlight. At this time, a black star appears with two square black masses beside it, emerging from the side, thus forming the star Shang Ruo, which is three or four feet long. The country pointed to by the tip of its light will suffer a great flood and military conflict; at the same time, the "law star" changes color to black. This will be fulfilled within a year.

天杵（一本云：天林）星（在女宿中）出月左方，日在壬寅，辰星之變而不出，其與日合三十六日，其未出三日，必有災雲，黑黃青色三物，厭日之光，黑色之星，有兩黑方，在其旁出，而生天杵之星，長七八尺，所指之國，軍破、將死，令星變色而黑，期一年。

The star Tian Chu (originally noted in the text: another version reads "Tian Lin"; located in the middle of the Girl Mansion) appears to the left of the moon. When the Sun reaches the position of Renyin and the star Chen (Saturn) undergoes a change and disappears, Tian Chu combines with the Sun for thirty-six days. When it is three days away from appearing, there will certainly be ominous clouds in the sky, of black, yellow, and green colors, blocking out the sunlight. At this time, a black star has two square black masses beside it, emerging from the side, thus forming the star Tian Chu, which is about seven or eight feet long. The country pointed to by the tip of its芒 (ray) will have its army defeated and its general killed. At the same time, the star Ling (command star) changes color to black. This will be fulfilled within a year.

天麻星（在虛宿中）出月左方，日在壬寅，辰星將出而不出，其與日合三十五日，其未出五日，必有災雲，黑黃青色三物，厭日之光，黑色之星，有兩黑方，在其旁出，而生天麻之星，長七八尺，（一本云：四五尺）所指之國，破亡，煞星之變色而黑，期六月。

天杖（一本：天社）星（在危宿中）出月左方，日在壬寅，辰星將出而不出，其與日合四十日，其未出四日，必有災雲，黑黃青色三物，厭日之光，黑色之星，有兩黑方，在其旁出，而生天杖之星，長十餘丈，勾曲，所指之國，兵、主死，伐星變色而黑，期二年。

The country pointed to by the tip of its芒 will suffer from military disaster and the death of the ruler; at the same time, the star "Faxing" will change color and turn black. This will be verified within two years.

天攙星（在室宿中）出月左方，日在壬寅，辰星將出而不出，其與日合四十五日，其未出四日，必有災雲，黑黃青色三物，厭日之光，黑色之星，有兩黑方，在其旁出，而生天攙之星，長五六尺，所指之國，破亡，危星之變色而黑，期三年。
