The Gan school says: if the Malefic of violence enters Zui Zhu, the world will have clear and virtuous governance. Xi Meng says: if the Malefic of violence enters Zui Zhu, one should wait for the day it exits to calculate the timing, which is twenty days, and at that time military actions will be launched; also, according to the ratio of its initial entry, if it stays for one day, the timing will be ten days, and at that time the army will disperse. The Gan school says: if the Malefic of violence passes through between Zui Zhu, the world will be in great disorder; the western region will gain much, while the eastern region will lose much. The original book's marginal note cites the "Western Officials' Observation" which says: the east is auspicious, while the west is ominous.

《春秋圖》曰：“熒惑之觜觽，大臣且有憂。”石氏曰：“熒惑以觜觽合趙，相死。”郗萌曰：“熒惑以觜觽合；無光，主必亡。”《荊州占》曰：“熒惑守觜觽，誅罷不行。熒惑出入留舍觜觽，君臣將兵。”《黃帝占》曰：“熒惑守觜觽，將軍反，天子之軍破，牛馬有急行。”《黃帝占》曰：“熒惑守觜觽、參、國有喪，期六十日，若糴貴。”《文曜鉤》曰：“逐功臣；熒惑守觜、參。”

The Spring and Autumn Diagram says: When the Malefic of violence reaches the Turtle Beak mansion, senior ministers will suffer calamity. The Shi school says: When the Malefic of violence meets the Turtle Beak mansion and the region of Zhao, the chancellor will die. Xi Meng says: When the Malefic of violence combines with the Turtle Beak mansion, and the Turtle Beak mansion loses its brightness, the sovereign will certainly perish. The Jingzhou Divination says: When the Malefic of violence guards the Turtle Beak mansion, those who should be executed or dismissed will not be carried out. When the Malefic of violence enters, stays, or halts at the Turtle Beak mansion, the sovereign and ministers will both lead armies. The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: When the Malefic of violence guards the Turtle Beak mansion, the general will rebel, and the imperial army will be defeated, causing cattle and horses to run in panic. The Yellow Emperor's Divination also says: When the Malefic of violence guards the Turtle Beak mansion and the Three Stars mansion, there will be mourning within the country, which will occur within sixty days, or there will be a sharp rise in grain prices. The Wen Yao Gou says: When there is the expulsion of meritorious ministers, it will be indicated by the Malefic of violence guarding the Turtle Beak mansion and the Three Stars mansion.

石氏曰：“熒惑守觜觽、西方客動，侵地欲為；君王崇禮以制義，則國安；一曰西羌兵起。熒惑守觜觽，君臣和同。”甘氏曰：“熒惑守觜觽，萬物不生，天下愁悲。”巫咸曰：“熒惑守觜觽，旱，多大災，五穀不成，天子不可動兵。“巫咸曰：“熒惑守觜觽，有石墮其野者，一曰有怪石，以入日占何國。熒惑守觜觽，穀貴；入之，石二百；不入，石一百。”

The Shi school says: When the Malefic of violence occupies the Zi star, the western army will take action, intending to seize territory and make moves; if the king upholds propriety and decides matters by righteousness, the state will be stable. Another interpretation is that the Western Qiang will raise an army. It also says that when the Malefic of violence occupies the Zi star, the sovereign and ministers will be harmonious and united. The Gan school says: When the Malefic of violence occupies the Zi star, all things cannot grow, and the people throughout the land will be distressed and sorrowful. Wu Xian says: When the Malefic of violence occupies the Zi star, there will be drought, many great calamities, and the five grains will not mature; the Son of Heaven should not take military action. Wu Xian also says: When the Malefic of violence occupies the Zi star, there will be meteorites falling in the outskirts of that region's territory. Another interpretation is the appearance of strange stones. According to the day branch when the Malefic of violence enters its mansion, it can be used to determine which state it will affect. When the Malefic of violence occupies the Zi star, grain prices will rise sharply; if it enters the mansion, the price per stone will reach two hundred; if it does not enter, the price per stone will be one hundred.

《海中占》曰：“熒惑守觜觽，其國有憂。”郗萌曰：“熒惑守觜觽、參，棄法律；又曰小民多傷。熒惑犯守觜觽，不出三十日，有兵。熒惑守觜觽，國易政，天下多不孝子，父子相鬥，鐵器貴，一曰禾貴。”《西官候》曰：“熒惑守虎首，一日為十日以上，天下兵起，斧鉞用。”

The Sea of the Sea divination text says: When the Malefic of violence guards the mouth of the bird, the country corresponding to that region will have calamities. Xi Meng says: When the Malefic of violence guards the mouth of the bird and the Three Stars mansion, the law will be abandoned; also, many common people will suffer injuries and deaths. When the Malefic of violence invades and guards the mouth of the bird, within thirty days there will be military actions. When the Malefic of violence guards the mouth of the bird, the country will change its policies, and throughout the world there will be many unfilial sons, with father and son fighting each other, and iron tools will be expensive; another interpretation says that grain will be expensive. The Western Officials' Observation says: When the Malefic of violence is stationed at the tiger's head, which is the mouth of the bird, one day is counted as ten days or more, and throughout the world there will be military campaigns, with axes and halberds used for punishment and execution.

齊伯曰：“熒惑守觜觽，害國之君，將兵入於秦之域矣，六畜大疫，山谷盡空。”《春秋圖》曰：“熒惑守觜觽，有兵起，將為亂、若有急令，天下斧鉞在用，不出百八十日。”《黃帝占》曰：“熒惑守觜觽，野多反者，斧鉞用。”郗萌曰：“熒惑守觜觽而守之，六十日，其國有喪，大臣有誅，被逐者；萬物不生，天下飢，谷大貴。”

Qi Bo said: The Malefic of violence stays at Zhui Zhu, which will endanger the sovereign, military forces will enter the territory of Qin, and there will be a great outbreak of plague among livestock. In the mountain valleys, both people and animals will be completely depopulated. The "Spring and Autumn Diagram" says: When the Malefic of violence stays at Zhui Zhu, there will be military actions, generals will rebel, or an urgent decree will be issued. The whole world is using axes and halberds for executions, and this will be verified within 180 days. The "Yellow Emperor's Divination" says: When the Malefic of violence stays at Zhui Zhu, there will be many rebels in the outskirts, and axes and halberds will be used for executions. Xi Meng said: When the Malefic of violence arrives at Zhui Zhu and stays there, after sixty days, the country will have mourning, among the ministers there will be those who are executed or exiled; all things cannot grow, the whole world will suffer from famine, and grain prices will rise sharply.

《黃帝占》曰：“熒惑犯參，有大將反者；兵大連精，四方相射，王者不安，轉徙宮室。”石氏曰：“熒惑犯參左肩，大戰；星角明大，天下之兵卒起而強；微細，天下兵弱。”《說題辭》曰：“熒惑入參，主威下，國廢。”《文曜鉤》曰：“熒惑入伐，有兵戰，守之五日以上，大將死。”郗萌曰：“熒惑入參若伐，天子憂市；一曰君失市。”

The Three Stars mansion is the last of the Seven Wandering Stars of the White Tiger in the western direction. The "Yellow Emperor's Divination" states that if the Malefic of Violence (Mars) invades the Three Stars mansion, there will be a rebellion by a great general; large armies will be connected, with sharp military confrontations in all directions, and the king will not find peace, needing to move his palace. The Shi school says that if the Malefic of Violence invades the left shoulder star of the Three Stars mansion, there will be a great battle; if the star's light is bright and thick, the soldiers of the whole country will suddenly rise and become strong; if the star's light is faint and thin, the military strength of the country will weaken. The "Say on the Subject" states that if the Malefic of Violence enters the Three Stars mansion, the authority of the sovereign will decline, and the state will fall into ruin. The "Wen Yao Gou" states that if the Malefic of Violence enters the Faval star, there will be warfare, and if the battle lasts more than five days, the general will die. Xi Meng says that if the Malefic of Violence enters the Three Stars mansion or the Faval star, the emperor will worry about market transactions; another interpretation is that the sovereign loses control over market transactions.

The Spring and Autumn Writings say: The Malefic of violence moves retrograde into the Three Stars mansion, drawing a winding path, causing great disorder throughout the land, the Son of Heaven loses his proper conduct, the Nobleman suffers worry; if it circles around once, the ruler's fate is inauspicious, or there will be a great mourning, the time of occurrence is one year, or three years in the distant future. The Jingzhou Divination says: The Malefic of violence moving retrograde into the Three Stars mansion, certainly there will be a king of a state who starves or is killed. The Spring and Autumn Diagram says: The Malefic of violence entering the Three Stars mansion, the generals will face calamity. Xi Meng says: The Malefic of violence moves southward to the Three Stars mansion, among the generals there must be those who are imprisoned. The Gan school says: The Malefic of violence stops at the star of the Axe, within thirty days there will be a great amnesty.

郗萌曰：“熒惑宿參若伐，直橫者為有反臣中兵。熒惑入參一月，相死；二月，后死，三月，君死。”《西官候》曰：“熒惑入參，留二十日以上，兵戰出；期七十二日，若十月，若有喪，小兒多傷。”郗萌曰：“熒惑逆行，若留止衡中，為兵軍起。熒惑出入留舍參中，天子宮中兵起。”《黃帝占》曰：“熒惑守參多霜雹。”

Xi Meng said: The Malefic of violence stops in the Three Stars mansion or the star of the Axe, exactly at the place of the three stars in a row, indicating there will be a rebellious minister in the court who starts a military action. When the Malefic of violence enters the Three Stars mansion for a full month, the prime minister dies; for two months, the empress dies; for three months, the sovereign dies. The Western Palace Observation says: When the Malefic of violence enters the Three Stars mansion, if it stays for more than twenty days, there will be military campaigns; if it corresponds to seventy-two days, or ten months, or there is a mourning event, many children will suffer casualties. Xi Meng said: When the Malefic of violence retrogrades or stays in the three stars in the row of the Three Stars mansion, it indicates military disturbances. When the Malefic of violence enters, stays, or stops in the Three Stars mansion, there will be a military revolt within the court of the heavenly sovereign. The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: When the Malefic of violence guards the Three Stars mansion, there will be frequent frost and hail.

《河圖》曰：“熒惑以四月守參，其國兵起，兵起宮中，戰有功，若封侯者；五月守之，在人有憂下獄者。”《孝經章句》曰：“熒惑守參，兵大殺，千里之行，淮主亦驚，牛馬多死，雨澤不時，歲為下。”石氏曰：“熒惑守參，大將軍反，天子之軍破，牛馬急行，麥大貴，人相食。”甘氏曰：“熒惑守參，王者不安，徒宮室。”

The Yellow River Chart says: When the Malefic of violence stays in the Three Stars mansion in the fourth lunar month, the country corresponding to that region will mobilize troops, and there will be a coup within the palace. There may be military achievements, or someone may be granted a marquis title for his merits. If it stays there in the fifth lunar month, then some people will be anxious and be imprisoned. The Chapter on Filial Piety says: When the Malefic of violence stays in the Three Stars mansion, there will be extensive warfare and great slaughter. Armies will march a thousand li, causing even the rulers of the Huai River region to be alarmed. There will be a large number of cattle and horses dying, rain will fall out of season, and the harvest will be of the lowest grade. The Shi school says: When the Malefic of violence stays in the Three Stars mansion, the Grand General will rebel, and the imperial army will be defeated. Cattle and horses will run desperately, the price of wheat will rise sharply, leading even to cannibalism. The Gan school says: When the Malefic of violence stays in the Three Stars mansion, the king will not rest in peace and will have to move his palace.

巫咸曰：“熒惑守參，有怪石墮其野，以入內占。熒惑守參，旱，多火災，萬物五穀不成，其國有憂。”《海中占》曰：“熒惑守伐五日，人主死。”郗萌曰：“熒惑守參足下五日，糴暴賤；二十日以上，糴大賤；三十日，有赦，一曰四月守參，三十日，赦。熒惑守參，為大人當之。”《荊州占》曰：“熒惑以四月守參，天下金貴。”

Wu Xian said: When the Malefic of violence is stationed at the Three Stars mansion, there will be strange stones falling in the territory corresponding to that mansion. According to the day branch when it enters the mansion, one should make a divination. When the Malefic of violence is stationed at the Three Stars mansion, there will be drought, frequent fires, and failure of all things and the five grains, and the country will have calamity. The Sea Divination says: When the Malefic of violence stays at the伐 star for five days, the ruler will die. Xi Meng said: When the Malefic of violence stays at the foot of the Three Stars mansion for five days, the price of grain will suddenly drop; if it lasts more than twenty days, the price of grain will fall greatly; if it lasts thirty days, there will be an amnesty; another account says that if it stays at the Three Stars mansion for thirty days in the fourth month, there will be an amnesty. When the Malefic of violence is stationed at the Three Stars mansion, the nobleman will bear this calamity. The Jingzhou Divination says: When the Malefic of violence stays at the Three Stars mansion in the fourth month, the price of gold will rise greatly.

郗萌曰：“熒惑守伐，百二十日成勾巳。若環繞之，大人惡之，若有憂，期六月。”《荊州占》曰：“熒惑守參，白虎兵起，鐵鉞用。”陳卓曰：“火守伐，天下更正朔。”《西官候》曰：“火守伐，燕王當死；其留二十日以上，大人惡之，期六十日，若秦地凶。”甘氏曰：“熒惑守參，有赤星出參中，邊有兵。”

Xi Meng said: The Mars star guards the attacking star, and within 120 days it moves back and forth drawing a winding shape. If it circles around once, the Nobleman regards it as an ill omen, or there will be calamity, and the time of occurrence is six months. The "Jingzhou Divination" says: When Mars guards the Three Stars mansion, the White Tiger presides over military campaigns in the western direction, and weapons of iron and钺 are used for execution. Chen Zhuo said: When Mars guards the attacking star, the whole country will need to correct the calendar and the new beginning of the year. The "Xiguan Wait" says: When Mars guards the attacking star, the Yan King will die; if it stays for more than twenty days, the Nobleman regards it as an ill omen, and the time of occurrence is sixty days, or there will be calamity in the state of Qin. The Gan school said: When Mars guards the Three Stars mansion, if a red star appears within the Three Stars mansion, there will be military conflict at the borders.

石氏曰：“熒惑以四月守參，火入舍，金錢發。熒惑入參，守之二十日以上，兵起於野，將軍出戰，有死將，石隕其野，多反者。熒惑與龍星並見參中，天子更政，有戮死臣。熒惑與彗星若妖星見參伐，天子更政；妖星一名望能。”郄萌曰：“熒惑經參，能見參伐，大國君為臣所謀。熒惑與彗星見參，大國君不吉。”

The Shi school says: When the Malefic of violence is in the Three Stars mansion in the fourth month, it stays in the mansion and the money and wealth will be scattered and used up. When the Malefic of violence enters the Three Stars mansion and stays there for more than twenty days, warfare will start in the outskirts, generals will lead armies into battle, some generals will die in battle, meteorites will fall in the outskirts of that region, and many rebels will appear. When the Malefic of violence and the Star of the Azure Dragon appear together in the Three Stars mansion, the Son of Heaven will change his decrees, and a minister will be killed. When the Malefic of violence appears together with a comet or an evil star in the Three Stars mansion or the Star of the Axe, the Son of Heaven will change his decrees; an evil star is also called Wangneng. Xie Meng says: When the Malefic of violence passes through the Three Stars mansion, it can appear together with the Three Stars mansion and the Star of the Axe, and the ruler of a great state will be plotted against by his ministers. When the Malefic of violence appears together with a comet in the Three Stars mansion, the ruler of a great state will have an ominous omen.

《黃帝占》曰：“熒惑犯東井，小有兵。”（案《宋書天文志》曰：安帝義熙九年二月丙午，熒惑填星皆犯東井，十三年三月，索頭大眾緣河為寇，高祖討之。奔退，其別帥跋嵩交戰，大破之，嵩殲馬，復攻關中，八月擒宏也。）

East Well is also known as the Well Mansion, which is the first among the seven mansions of the Vermilion Bird in the south. Its territory corresponds to the state of Qin in the region of Yongzhou, and it governs water sources, laws, and the court of the Son of Heaven. The book "Yellow Emperor's Divination" states that if the Malefic of Violence (Mars) invades East Well, there will be minor military conflicts. The original commentary refers to the "Book of the Celestial Officials · Records of Astronomy" which says: In the second month of the ninth year of Emperor Yan of the Jin Dynasty, on the day of Bingwu, Mars and the planet of Earth (Fill Star) together invaded East Well; by the third month of the thirteenth year of the same era, the forces of the Xiongnu entered the area along the Yellow River, and Emperor Liu Yu of the Song Dynasty dispatched troops to attack them. The enemy retreated, and their subordinate commander Baosong came into battle and suffered a great defeat, losing many war horses. Later, they attacked the area of Guanzhong, and in August they captured Yao Hong.

陳卓曰：“熒惑犯東井，群臣有以家事坐罪者。”（案《宋書天文志》曰：魏高貴鄉公正元二年十二月戊午。熒惑犯東井北轅西頭第一星，甘露元年。諸葛誕族滅。宋孝武大明二年三月辛未，熒惑入東井，其年四月，海陵王休茂為雍州刺史，五年，休茂反誅。）

Chen Zhuo said: The Malefic of violence invades the Well mansion, and among the ministers there will be those who will be punished due to private family matters. The original commentary notes according to the "Song Shu · Astronomical Records" say: In the second year of Zhengyuan during the reign of the Wei High Emperor Gaoxiang, in December the fifth day of the fifth month, the Malefic of violence invaded the first star at the western end of the northern row of stars in the Well mansion; by the time of the Ganlu period, Zhuge Dan raised an army in Shouchun and failed, his entire family was executed. Also, in the second year of Daming during the reign of Emperor Xiaowu of the Song Dynasty, in March the sixth day of the sixth month, the Malefic of violence entered the Well mansion; in that same month, the Prince of Hailingle, Liu Xiumei, was appointed governor of Yongzhou; by the fifth year of Daming, Xiumei raised an army in rebellion and was executed.

The Wen Yao Gou says: When the Malefic of violence reaches the Well mansion, it deviates from its usual path and moves along the southern yang path, resulting in great drought, fires, or internal rebellion, and the prediction will not be fulfilled within three years. The Shi school says: When the Malefic of violence enters the Well mansion, military actions will arise or there will be drought, and the country corresponding to that region will experience turmoil. If there was originally military action, it will cease; if there was no military action, it will begin, and the ministers will bear the calamity. The original commentary, citing the Song Dynasty's Book of Celestial Phenomena, states: In the first year of Xiankang of Emperor Cheng of Jin, in August of the Wuxu year, the Malefic of violence entered the Well mansion. That summer, the government conscripted people to build camps and garrisons, granted titles, and followed the duties of the司马 to guard against the Hu invaders. The Shi school also says: When the Malefic of violence enters the Well mansion, there must first be military action, followed by the order to conscript soldiers. When the Malefic of violence shines brightly, moves swiftly, and enters the Well mansion, the prime minister will die within ten days; the emperor will die within thirty days, and the queen's fate will also be unfavorable.

《黃帝占》曰：“熒惑入東井，牛大疫，兵器鉞大貴。”石氏曰：“熒惑入東井中，海水出，水暴下。”甘氏曰：“熒惑入東井，有逃主；又曰四百人貴一人。”巫咸曰：“熒惑入東井中，國有遁主。熒惑入東進，貴人不安其位，一國大旱。”

The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: When the Malefic of violence enters the Well mansion, cattle will suffer a great plague, and weapons and axes will see a sharp rise in price. The Shi school says: When the Malefic of violence enters the Well mansion, the sea will overflow onto the land, and a great flood will suddenly rush down. The Gan school says: When the Malefic of violence enters the Well mansion, there will be a fleeing monarch; it also says that among four hundred people, one will attain nobility. Wu Xian says: When the Malefic of violence enters the Well mansion, there will be a fleeing monarch within the country. When the Malefic of violence enters the Well mansion (the original text reads 'eastward movement', a homonym error for 'Well mansion'), the nobleman cannot remain in his position, and the whole country will suffer a great drought.

郗萌曰：“熒惑入東井，國失火。（案《宋書天文志》曰：景帝四年七月癸未，火入東井，行陰，後二年，有栗氏事，後未央東關火災，《洪範天文星辰復占》曰：未央門火災。）熒惑入東井，太白隨之，糴貴，道上多死人。熒惑入東井，先起兵者，大將戮死，期六十日。熒惑逆行東井，貴人死傷，若失火。”

Xi Meng said: The Malefic of violence enters the Well mansion, and a fire occurs in the country. The original commentary notes according to the "Song Shu · Astronomical Records" say: In the fourth year of Emperor Jing of Han, seventh month, on the day Guiwei, the Malefic of violence entered the Well mansion, moving along the northern side of the Yin path; afterwards, within two years, there was a disturbance among the Lijī family, and later a fire broke out at the eastern gate of the Weiyang Palace. The "Hongfan Astronomical Stars and Divination" says that the fire at the Weiyang Palace gate was lost. Xi Meng also said: When the Malefic of violence enters the Well mansion, the planet of metal follows, leading to high grain prices and many people dying of starvation on the roads. When the Malefic of violence enters the Well mansion, the side that first mobilizes troops will have its general killed within sixty days. When the Malefic of violence retrogrades to the Well mansion, noblemen will be killed or injured, or a fire will occur.

《海中占》曰：“熒惑入東井，角動，赤黑色，大人當之，以水起兵，其環繞之，事必成；其留二十日，色赤黃，大人增地；黑、憂，奪地。”司馬彪《天文志》曰：“熒惑入東井中口，大臣有誅者。”石氏曰：“熒惑正過東井中，南出者，天下有易王業者。”《海中占》曰：“熒惑過東井上二丈者，軍將必當去其兵，歸必有病事。”

The Sea in the Middle divination text says: When the Malefic of violence enters the Well mansion, its starlight flickers and its color is red and black. The Nobleman will bear this calamity, which will arise from water-related affairs. If it circles around once, the matter intended will certainly succeed. If it stays for twenty days, its color turns red and yellow, and the Nobleman will expand his territory. If its color turns black, there will be worries, and the territory will be taken away by others. Sima Biao's Annals of Astronomy says: When the Malefic of violence enters the central mouth of the Well mansion, there will be a minister who is executed. The Shi school says: When the Malefic of violence passes straight through the center of the Well mansion and exits from the southern side, there will be a change in the imperial dynasty. The Sea in the Middle divination text says: When the Malefic of violence passes over two zhang above the Well mansion, the commander of the troops will certainly have to give up his command, and after returning, there will certainly be sickness.

The Yellow Emperor said: When the Malefic of violence departs from the northern Xu and moves to the Well mansion, it will clash with one of the stars there, resulting in the death of a general in the wilderness, unburied; if it clashes with two stars, the palace's favored attendants will be executed in the market. The northern Xu referred to here is the northern River star. The Spring and Autumn Diagram says: When the Malefic of violence reaches the Well mansion, there will be a commoner who will be enfeoffed as a marquis. The Sea and Heaven Divination says: When the Malefic of violence rises to the area of the northern Xu near the Well mansion, if it is three zhang away from the northern Xu, there will be a conscription of more than a thousand people; if it is two zhang away, there will be a conscription of ten thousand people; if it is one zhang away, the gates will be opened wide, and there will be no people on the roads; if it stays beneath the northern Xu for sixty days, the whole country will be pardoned.

晉灼曰：“熒惑留東井中三十日，天下大水，人主以身游水。熒惑西方守東井、輿鬼，去復還反之，強國君忌之。”《海中占》曰：“熒惑入東井，留三十日以上，既去復還，居之若環繞成勾巳者，國君有憂，若重有喪；期九十日，若一年。”郗萌曰：“熒惑出入留舍東井，三十日不下，必有破國死王。”《河圖》曰：“熒惑在西方若東方，守東井，有男喪。”

Jin Zhuo said: When the Malefic of violence stays in the Well mansion for thirty days, great floods will occur throughout the land, and the king must personally wade through the water. When the Malefic of violence guards the Well mansion and Ghost mansion in the west, and then returns, the rulers of strong states should be cautious of this celestial phenomenon. The "Sea Divination" says: When the Malefic of violence enters the Well mansion and stays for more than thirty days, then leaves and returns, remaining there or circling in a curved shape, the king will have worries or suffer consecutive losses. The period may be ninety days or one year. Xi Meng said: When the Malefic of violence enters, stays, or resides in the Well mansion for thirty days without departing, there will certainly be the downfall of a state and the death of the king. The "Yellow River Chart" says: When the Malefic of violence is either in the west or the east, guarding the Well mansion, there will be the death of a man.

石氏曰：“熒惑以十二月守東井，且憂火。熒惑守東井，名水有絕者，大魚死，國大旱。熒惑守東井，如炬火，兵起。”甘氏曰：“熒惑守東井，貴相戮。熒惑以五月守東井六十日，東海決溢，水出。”巫咸曰：“熒惑守東井間，有逐王。”

The Shi school says: When the Malefic of violence is in the Well mansion in the twelfth lunar month, there will be concern about fires. When the Malefic of violence guards the Well mansion, there will be a great river that dries up and its flow is cut off, large fish die, and the country suffers a great drought. When the Malefic of violence guards the Well mansion, its light is bright and fierce like a torch, and military conflicts will arise. The Gan school says: When the Malefic of violence guards the Well mansion, a prominent chancellor will be killed. When the Malefic of violence stays in the Well mansion for sixty days in the fifth lunar month, the Eastern Sea will break its banks and flood, great waters will surge out. Wu Xian says: When the Malefic of violence is between the Well mansion, there will be a king who is expelled.

郗萌曰：“熒惑守東井，為萬物不成，久守之，金錢易。熒惑守東井南，主后死，守其西，太子死；守其北，諸侯有死者。熒惑守日月之門，國內亂，以其日占國。熒惑守東井，大人憂。”（案《宋書天文志》曰：晉元帝大興三年十月乙亥，熒惑在東井，永熙元年十二月，元帝崩。）陳卓曰：“熒惑守東井，天下不安。”郗萌曰：“熒惑守東井，天子為軍自守。熒惑守東井，百川溢。”

Xi Meng said: The Malefic of violence stays at the Well mansion, indicating that all things cannot mature. If it remains there for a long time, the currency system will change. If the Malefic of violence is at the south of the Well mansion, the monarch and the empress will die; if it is at the west, the crown prince will die; if it is at the north, there will be deaths among the feudal lords. If the Malefic of violence is at the entrance of the sun and moon, that is, near the Well mansion, there will be domestic turmoil, and the day branch will determine which state is affected. The Malefic of violence staying at the Well mansion indicates that the nobleman will have worries. The original commentary notes according to the "Celestial Officials" in the "Book of the Southern Dynasties" says: In the third year of Da Xing of Emperor Yuan of Jin, in the tenth month, the Malefic of violence was at the Well mansion, and by the twelfth month of Yong Xi year, Emperor Yuan died. Chen Zhuo said: The Malefic of violence staying at the Well mansion indicates that the world will not be at peace. Xi Meng also said: The Malefic of violence staying at the Well mansion indicates that the emperor will mobilize troops for self-defense. The Malefic of violence staying at the Well mansion indicates that rivers and streams will overflow and flood.

《黃帝占》曰：“熒惑入東井，留守井中，天子有火災。”《感精符》曰：“熒惑逆行守東井，成勾巳，天子坐之，天下兵起，守之二十日以上，相惡之，四十日以上，人主當之；先起殃，後起昌。”《甄曜度》曰：“熒惑入東井而守之，二十日以上，其國有大兵起，有大喪；三十日不下，有逃走相，破軍殺將，其國失地，不出期年，遠二年。”

The Huangdi Zhan says: The Malefic of violence enters the Well mansion, stays and guards the Well mansion, and there will be a fire at the court of the Son of Heaven. The Gan Jing Fu says: The Malefic of violence moves backwards and guards the Well mansion, going back and forth to draw a winding shape, the Son of Heaven will bear this calamity, and warfare will arise throughout the land; if it stays for more than twenty days, the prime minister will regard it as an ill omen; if it stays for more than forty days, the ruler will bear the calamity; the side that starts the war will suffer misfortune, while the side that acts later will flourish. The Zhen Yao Du says: When the Malefic of violence enters the Well mansion and stays there, if it stays for more than twenty days, the country corresponding to that region will have great warfare and great loss; if it stays for thirty days without leaving, there will be a fleeing prime minister, the army will be defeated, generals will be killed, and the country will lose its territory, and this will be fulfilled within a year, or at the latest within two years.

石氏曰：“熒惑入若守東井，河決，有水令。熒惑入，若守東井，二十日以上，宮中以火為敗，若內亂，臣當之。”郗萌曰：“熒惑入，若守東井。為土功事。熒惑犯乘守入東井中，以日占，臨其時者，辱也；留三日以上，占其大臣當之，期三月，若一年、三年、三年、遠五年。

《洛書》曰：“熒惑守鉞，兵大起，臣謀主，斧鉞用，將相有戮死者。”（案《宋書天文志》曰：魏高貴鄉公甘露元年七月乙卯、熒惑犯井鉞，三年，諸葛誕夷滅。《晉陽秋》曰：安帝隆安元年八月乙巳，熒惑守井鉞，二年八月，以譙王尚之弟充之為振威將軍，守蕪湖，以備庚楷等，由是內外騷動，王恭慮禍難，復密要殷仲堪桓玄同會京師，玄等皆響，遣石顯鍾堪在蕪湖、朝廷震駭。）

Ministers plot against the sovereign, and the instruments of斧钺 and execution are put to use. Among generals and ministers, some are killed. The original commentary refers to the "Book of the Later Han · Records of Astronomy" which says: In the first year of Ganlu, during the seventh lunar month of the high prince Gaoxiang of Wei, the Malefic of violence invaded the Well and钺 stars. By the third year of Ganlu, Zhuge Dan was exterminated. The "Jinyang Spring" says: In the first year of Long'an of Emperor Hui of Jin, during the eighth lunar month of the乙巳, the Malefic of violence stayed near the Well and钺 stars. In the second year of Long'an, during the eighth lunar month, the younger brother of Qiao Prince Sima Shangzhi, Sima Chongzhi, was appointed as General of Zhenwei, stationed at Wuhu, to guard against Yu Kai and others. Therefore, there was unrest within and outside the court. Wang Gong worried about impending calamity, and secretly invited Yin Zhongkan and Huan Xuan to converge at the capital. Huan Xuan and others all raised armies in response, sending Shi Xian and Zhong Kan to take up positions at Wuhu. The court was greatly alarmed.

石氏曰：“熒惑犯守鉞，大臣有誅，斧鉞用，有兵起，一曰執法者誅，不出其年。”郗萌曰：“熒惑中犯乘守鉞，斧鉞用，為其國內亂，兵起；一曰執法者誅。”

The Shi school says: The Malefic of violence invades and guards the钺 star, indicating that a minister will be executed, and the instruments of斧 and钺, used for execution, will be put into use, with military actions arising. Another interpretation is that an official in charge of laws will be executed, but this does not come to pass in that year. Xi Meng says: The Malefic of violence approaches from the center, invades, dominates, and guards the钺 star, with the instruments of斧 and钺 being used, indicating internal disorder in the region corresponding to that star, and military actions arising. Another interpretation is that an official in charge of laws will be executed.

《黃帝占》曰：“熒惑犯輿鬼，皇后憂失勢。”《帝覽嬉》曰：“熒惑犯輿鬼，為國有憂，大臣誅。（案司馬彪《天文志》曰：孝明永平十三年閏月丁亥，火犯輿鬼其十二月，楚王英與顏忠等造作妖書謀反，英自殺，忠等皆伏誅。）

Yugui is the same as Guixu, and its region corresponds to the state of Qin in the state of Yongzhou. It governs rituals for worshiping ghosts and spirits and matters related to death and mourning. Within this mansion, there is a gathering of corpses, which specifically indicates death. The book "Yellow Emperor's Divination" states: When the Malefic of violence (Fenghuo) invades Yugui, the empress queen will be anxious and lose her power. The book "Imperial View of Joy" states: When the Malefic of violence invades Yugui, there will be troubles within the country, and high ministers will be executed. The original book's marginal note refers to Sima Biao's "Astronomical Records" which says: In the thirteenth year of Yongping during the reign of Emperor Huan of Han, in the leap month of Dinghai, the Malefic of violence invaded Yugui. In the twelfth month of that year, Prince Chu Liu Ying conspired to rebel with Yan Zhong and others by forging magical books, and Liu Ying committed suicide, while Yan Zhong and others were all executed.

甘氏曰：“熒惑犯輿鬼，執法者戮。”（司馬《天文志》曰：延禧七年八月庚戍，熒惑犯鬼質星，八月二月，太僕南鄉侯左勝，以罪賜死，弟中常侍上蔡侯綰等自殺，宗親侍中比陽侯鄧康，河南尹鄧萬等皆係，萬等死，康等免官，桂陽太守任胤等背散走皆棄市，九年七月乙未，熒惑行鬼中，犯質星，十一月，太原太守劉瓚，南陽太守成瑨，皆坐殺無罪，尚書郎孟璫坐受金漏言，皆棄市，永康元年十二月，桓帝崩。）

The original commentary cites Wang Maobiao's "Astronomical Records" saying: In the seventh year of Huan Di's Yanyi period, in the eighth month, on the day of Gengxu, the Malefic of violence invaded the quality star of the Ghost mansion, which is the Accumulated Corpse Cloud; afterwards, the Grand Master of the Southern Township Marquis Zuo Sheng was executed for his crimes, his brother, the Middle Attendant of the Upper Cai Marquis Zuo Wan, and others committed suicide, the relatives and court attendants, the Biyang Marquis Deng Kang, the Governor of Henan Deng Wan, and others were detained, Deng Wan and others died, Deng Kang and others were dismissed from office, and the Governor of Guiyang Ren Yin and others fled in battle and were executed and put to death in the market. In the seventh month of the ninth year of Yanyi, the Malefic of violence was in the middle of the Ghost mansion, invading the quality star; in November, the Governor of Taiyuan Liu Zan and the Governor of Nanyang Cheng Jin were both convicted for illegally killing innocent people, the Imperial Secretary Ma Deng was convicted for accepting bribes and leaking secrets, and all were executed and put to death in the market. By the twelfth month of the first year of Yongkang, Emperor Huan died.

《荊州占》曰：“熒惑犯輿鬼，忠臣戮死，皆不出一年中。”甘氏曰：“熒惑入輿鬼，犯積尸，天下兵大起，戰流血，有沒軍死將。（《宋書天文志》曰：晉安帝義熙十四年七月甲辰，熒惑犯輿鬼，占曰：秦有兵，十五年，西虜寇長安，雍州刺史朱齡石諸軍陷沒。）三十日不下，國有大喪，人民流亡，死者大半，期三年。”

The *Jingzhou Divination* says: When the Malefic of violence enters the Ghost mansion, loyal ministers will be killed and die, and this will be fulfilled within a year. The Gan school says: When the Malefic of violence enters the Ghost mansion and invades the accumulated corpse qi in the host star, great warfare will break out across the land, with battles involving bloodshed, and there will be complete annihilation of armies and death of generals. The original book's marginal note cites the *Song Book · Astronomical Records* which says: In July of the 14th year of Emperor Yan of the Jin Dynasty, on the Jiachen day, the Malefic of violence invaded the Ghost mansion, and the divination text predicted military affairs in the state of Qin. By the 15th year of Emperor Yan, the western barbarians attacked Chang'an, and the armies under the governor of Yongzhou, Zhu Lingshi, were completely destroyed. The Gan school continues: If the Malefic of violence remains for thirty days without retreating, there will be great mourning in the country, with people fleeing and suffering, and more than half of the population will die, and this will occur within three years.

When it remains stationary in the position of the guards, prices will rise sharply, and there will be a great outbreak of plague throughout the land. If it remains for more than twenty days, there will be great military conflicts, many soldiers will die, and this will be related to the worship of the ancestral temples and the gods. Alternatively, there may be many people suffering from illness, or there may be the death of a woman. This prediction will come true within ten months. The original commentary cites Sima Biao's "Astronomical Records": In the eighth month of the first year of Jianhe during the reign of Emperor Huan of Han, the Malefic of violence invaded the Ghost mansion and the star of the quality. In the twelfth month of the first year of Pinghe, the Empress Dowager Liang died. The "Astronomical Records" in the "Book of the Later Han" says: In the third month of the ninth year of Xianhe during the reign of Emperor Cheng of Jin, the Malefic of violence entered the Ghost mansion, and the divination said that military affairs would occur in the northwest, with the complete annihilation of armies and the death of generals. In the fourth month, General Tuo Quan of the Western Command initially submitted the province of Qinzhou, but soon was destroyed by Shi Bin, and his troops were relocated to the areas of Qingzhou and Xuzhou.

《春秋緯》曰：“熒惑入輿鬼，主以內亂，淫泆。”《孝經章句》曰：“熒惑入輿鬼，主坐之。”（司馬《天文志》曰：孝質本初元年三月癸丑，熒惑入輿鬼，閏月一日，孝質帝為梁冀鳩，而崩。）石氏曰：“熒惑入輿鬼中，旬主后死；七日，相死，四月、主死。熒惑入輿鬼，斧鑕用，其星視動頡頡然，是謂王府國家不安。故則物不欲聚也；皆以入日命其國。”

The original text's marginal notes cite司马彪's Heavenly Records: In the first year of the Zhi Emperor of Han, third month, on the day Guichou, the Malefic of violence entered the Ghost mansion; on the first day of the leap month, the Zhi Emperor was poisoned to death by Liang Ji. The Shi school says: When the Malefic of violence enters the Ghost mansion, if it stays for ten days, the ruler and the empress will die; if it stays for seven days, the prime minister will die; if it stays for four months, the ruler will die. When the Malefic of violence enters the Ghost mansion, the instruments of execution such as the axe and the iron chain are used; that star appears flickering and moving up and down, which is called the royal treasury and the state being in disorder, so it is not advisable to accumulate wealth. All these are determined according to the day branch on which the Malefic of violence enters the mansion, to ascertain which state it affects.

巫咸曰：“熒惑入輿鬼，將相有誅者。”（《宋書天文志》曰：晉成帝咸和九年三月已亥，熒惑入輿鬼，犯積尸，四月鎮西將軍雍州刺史郭權始以秦州歸從，守為石虎所滅，從其眾於青徐也。）劉向《洪範》曰：“熒惑入輿鬼，大賊在大人之側。”（《宋書天文志》曰：晉安帝元興元年七月戍寅、熒惑在東井，又犯輿鬼積尸，二年，桓玄篡位，遷帝於潯陽。）

The original commentary cites the "Book of the Later Han · Astronomical Records" which says: In the third month of the ninth year of Emperor Cheng of Jin's Xianhe era, the Malefic of violence entered the Ghost mansion and invaded the accumulated corpse qi in the host mansion; in the fourth month, General of the Western Pacification and Governor of Yongzhou Guo Quan initially submitted the state of Qinzhou to the court, but was soon defeated by Shi Hu, and his followers were relocated to the areas of Qingzhou and Xuzhou. Liu Xiang's "Hongfan" says: When the Malefic of violence enters the Ghost mansion, there will be a great villain lurking near the Nobleman. The original commentary cites the "Book of the Later Han · Astronomical Records" which says: In the seventh month of the first year of Emperor An of Jin's Yuanxing era, the Malefic of violence was in the Well mansion and also invaded the accumulated corpse qi in the Ghost mansion; by the second year of Yuanxing, Huan Xuan usurped the throne and moved Emperor An to Xinyang for detention.

《海中占》曰：“熒惑入輿鬼中央星，可四五日，大人當之。”郗萌曰：“熒惑入輿鬼，為大人卒事，以命終也。熒惑守柳，入輿鬼，人相食。”《荊州占》曰：“熒惑入輿鬼，為亂臣在內，有屠城。”陳卓曰：“熒惑入輿鬼，有金錢令。”（《宋書天文志》曰：明帝泰始三年六月，熒惑犯輿鬼，九月，以皇后六宮衣服金釵雜物則北征將士也，有火災。）

The Sea of the Sea Divination says: When the Malefic of violence enters the Ghost mansion, it will last about four or five days, and the Nobleman will bear this calamity. Xi Meng says: When the Malefic of violence enters the Ghost mansion, it indicates that the Nobleman will suddenly encounter troubles, leading to his death. If the Malefic of violence first stays in the Willow mansion and then enters the Ghost mansion, there will be a terrible incident of people eating people. The Jingzhou Divination says: When the Malefic of violence enters the Ghost mansion, there will be a traitorous minister within the court, and a massacre of a city will occur. Chen Zhuo says: When the Malefic of violence enters the Ghost mansion, there will be policies concerning money and treasures. The original book's note cites the "Book of the Celestial Officials of the Song Dynasty" saying: In the third year of Taishi of Emperor Ming of the Song Dynasty, in June, the Malefic of violence invaded the Ghost mansion; in September, the clothes, gold hairpins, and other miscellaneous items of the queen's six palaces were distributed as rewards to the northern expedition soldiers, and during this time, a fire broke out.

齊伯曰：“熒惑入鬼中，大臣有誅，兵大起，白骨滿野。”（《五行傳》曰：漢宣帝本始四年，熒惑入輿鬼，天質，後三年霍氏謀反之應也。）郗萌曰：“熒惑留輿鬼，臣下不明。”《南官候》曰：“熒惑留輿鬼，君臣疾病，逆行，失火；女主用財大奢，過度。”

Qi Bo said: The planet Mars enters the Ghost Mansion, there will be ministers who are executed, great military conflicts arise, and white bones spread throughout the fields. The original book's marginal note cites the "Transmission of the Five Phases" which says: In the fourth year of Ben Shi during the reign of Emperor Xuandi of Han, Mars entered the Ghost Mansion, approaching the celestial quality, and after three years the Huo clan plotted rebellion, which was exactly the fulfillment of this celestial phenomenon. Xi Meng said: When Mars remains in the Ghost Mansion, the ministers are confused and unclear. The "Southern Officials' Forecast" says: When Mars remains in the Ghost Mansion, both the sovereign and ministers will suffer illness; if it moves retrograde, there will be fire; if a female ruler is extravagant and exceeds the law, then disaster will occur.

郗萌曰：“熒惑舍輿鬼中十餘日，出輿鬼又舍南河二十日、三十日，因南行，國有的小男喪，正月初見者，七月吉凶發；正月、七月孟，長男坐之；九月初見者，三月吉凶發；九月、三月季，少男坐之。熒惑舍輿鬼中央，十餘日出輿鬼，又舍北河二十日、三十日，北行；邦有小女喪；十月初見者，四月吉凶發；十月、四月孟、長女坐之；十二月初見者，六月吉凶發；六月、十二月季，少女坐之。

Xi Meng said: When the Malefic of violence stays in the Ghost mansion for more than ten days, then moves out of the Ghost mansion and stays in the Southern River star for twenty or thirty days, then moves southward, the country will have the death of young boys. Those who first see this phenomenon in the first lunar month will see its effects in the seventh lunar month. The first and seventh lunar months are the first months of the four quarters, and the eldest son will bear this calamity. Those who first see it in the ninth lunar month will see its effects in the third lunar month. The ninth and third lunar months are the fourth quarters, and the youngest son will bear it. When the Malefic of violence stays in the center of the Ghost mansion for more than ten days, then moves out of the Ghost mansion and stays in the Northern River star for twenty or thirty days, then moves northward, the country will have the death of young girls. Those who first see this phenomenon in the tenth lunar month will see its effects in the fourth lunar month. The tenth and fourth lunar months are the first quarters, and the eldest daughter will bear this calamity. Those who first see it in the twelfth lunar month will see its effects in the sixth lunar month. The twelfth and sixth lunar months are the fourth quarters, and the youngest daughter will bear it.

熒惑舍輿鬼中三十日至五十日，天下有大喪；十一月見，五月應之；他放此。熒惑舍輿鬼中央，多霜露，風雨不時。熒惑舍輿鬼西北，婦人多妊子而死者。舍中央，小兒多死；一曰萬民多病頭，目痛；舍東北，長年多死；一曰必有流水。舍東南，老人多死。”

The Malefic of violence stays in the Ghost mansion for thirty to fifty days, and there will be great mourning events throughout the country; if this celestial phenomenon occurs in November, it will be verified in May; other months are calculated in the same way. If the Malefic of violence stays in the center of the Ghost mansion, there will be an unusual amount of frost and dew, and winds and rains will not occur at the proper seasons. If the Malefic of violence stays in the northwest of the Ghost mansion, many women will die while pregnant. If it stays in the center, many children will die; another interpretation says that the common people will suffer greatly from headaches and eye pain. If it stays in the northeast, many elderly people will die; another interpretation says that a great flood will certainly occur. If it stays in the southeast, many elderly people will die.

齊伯曰：“熒惑出入留舍輿鬼，五十日不去，國傷水，邑空。”《黃帝占》曰：“熒惑守輿鬼，女主病；留十日不去，國傷水，邑空。”《黃帝占》曰：“熒惑守輿鬼，女主病；留十日，諸侯王夫人當之；留二十日，太子夫人當之；東去，病在孔竅不利；南去，在頭；西去，平凡在手足；北去，病在陰。熒惑守輿鬼東南七日，少年病；守十日，老人病。熒惑守輿鬼中央，大人憂。”

Qi Bo said: When the Malefic of violence enters, stays, or remains in the Ghost mansion for fifty days without leaving, the country suffers from water disasters, and the cities and towns become deserted. The Yellow Emperor's Divination says: When the Malefic of violence guards the Ghost mansion, the female ruler falls ill; if it stays for ten days without leaving, the country suffers from water disasters, and the cities and towns become deserted. The Yellow Emperor's Divination also says: When the Malefic of violence guards the Ghost mansion, the female ruler falls ill; if it stays for ten days, the illness falls on the wife of the feudal prince; if it stays for twenty days, the illness falls on the wife of the crown prince; if the Malefic of violence moves eastward, the illness affects the ears, eyes, mouth, and nose; if it moves southward, the illness affects the head; if it moves westward, the illness affects the hands and feet; if it moves northward, the illness affects the lower body. When the Malefic of violence stays in the southeast of the Ghost mansion for seven days, young people fall ill; if it stays for ten days, the elderly fall ill. When the Malefic of violence stays exactly in the center of the Ghost mansion, the nobleman experiences worry.

石氏曰：“熒惑守輿鬼，貴相戮。熒惑守輿鬼，大人有祭祀之事。”巫咸曰：“熒惑守輿鬼，有兵兵罷，多水災，萬物五穀不成。熒惑守輿鬼，人君貴人憂，鈇鉞用。”郗萌曰：“熒惑守輿鬼，去復還居之，大國君不吉。”《海中占》曰：“熒惑守輿鬼，出其南，水；其北、旱。”（巫咸曰：守北水，守南旱。）

The Shi school says: When the Malefic of violence occupies the Ghost mansion, a prominent chancellor will be killed. When the Malefic of violence occupies the Ghost mansion, the Nobleman will have worship activities. Wu Xian says: When the Malefic of violence occupies the Ghost mansion, if there was originally military action, the military action will cease; there will be much flooding, and all things and the five grains will not mature. When the Malefic of violence occupies the Ghost mansion, the sovereign and the Nobleman will have worries, and weapons of iron and钺 will be used for punishment. Xi Meng says: When the Malefic of violence occupies the Ghost mansion, it leaves and then returns to stay there, which is inauspicious for the great king. The book "Sea Divination" says: When the Malefic of violence occupies the Ghost mansion, if it moves southward, it indicates water; if it moves northward, it indicates drought. The original book's marginal note cites Wu Xian saying: When it is stationed to the north, it indicates water; when it is stationed to the south, it indicates drought, which is exactly opposite to the previous statement.

郗萌曰：“熒惑守輿鬼，執法吏有過罪者；一曰主死，民多疾喪，棺木麻布貴；一曰牛馬貴。熒惑守輿鬼東北，男子兵相殺；守東南，萬民多死；守西北，以赦令解之。熒惑守輿鬼，在南，有男喪：在北，有女喪。熒惑守輿鬼，有土功事，若有德令。熒惑守輿鬼北七十日，好病；守南七十日，男子疾；熒惑經歷輿鬼中，東行還守西北角，有逐王來降；其後匈奴大敗北地。”（班固《天文志》曰：熒惑守輿鬼，為火變有喪，漢孝武六年，熒惑守輿鬼，其歲高園有火災，賓太后崩。）

Xi Meng said: The Malefic of violence resides in the Ghost mansion, indicating that officials who have committed crimes will be punished; another interpretation suggests the death of the sovereign, with many people suffering from illness and death, and the price of coffins and hemp cloth being high; yet another interpretation suggests that the price of oxen and horses will be high. When the Malefic of violence resides in the Northeast of the Ghost mansion, there will be mutual killing among men with weapons; when it resides in the Southeast, many people will die; when it resides in the Northwest, an amnesty decree can be used to alleviate the situation. When the Malefic of violence resides in the Ghost mansion, if it is to the south, there will be mourning for men; if it is to the north, there will be mourning for women. When the Malefic of violence resides in the Ghost mansion, there will be construction projects or the issuance of benevolent decrees. If the Malefic of violence resides in the northern part of the Ghost mansion for seventy days, many people will fall ill; if it resides in the southern part for seventy days, men will fall ill. When the Malefic of violence passes through the middle of the Ghost mansion and moves eastward before returning to guard its Northwest corner, a prince who has been exiled will come to submit; afterwards, the Xiongnu will suffer a great defeat. The original commentary cites Ban Gu's "Astronomical Records" which says: When the Malefic of violence resides in the Ghost mansion, it presages fires and mourning; in the sixth year of Emperor Wu of Han's Jianyuan era, the Malefic of violence resided in the Ghost mansion, and that year a fire broke out in the Gao Yuan, and the Dowager Empress (Dou太后) died.

《荊州占》曰：“熒惑守輿鬼東北星，棺木貴；守東南星，五穀貴；守西南星，金錢貴，守西北星，鐵器、魚鹽皆百倍。”《玉曆》曰：“熒惑守輿鬼，秦有疾病，金玉貴。”石氏曰：“熒惑守輿鬼，必大赦，期六十日；入鬼巳去，復還守之，大赦。熒惑出西方，若東方，出入輿鬼，守成勾巳，尊者失宗廟，期六十日，若百八十日。”

The *Jingzhou Divination* says: When the Malefic of violence occupies the Ghost mansion in the Northeast star, coffin prices will be high; when it occupies the Southeast star, grain prices will be high; when it occupies the Southwest star, money prices will be high; when it occupies the Northwest star, ironware and fish salt will rise a hundredfold. The *Yulü* says: When the Malefic of violence occupies the Ghost mansion, there will be plague in the state of Qin, and jade and metal will be expensive. The Shi school says: When the Malefic of violence occupies the Ghost mansion, there will certainly be a great amnesty, occurring within sixty days; if it enters the Ghost mansion, then leaves, and returns to guard it again, there will also be a great amnesty. The Malefic of violence may emerge from the West or the East, enter and exit the Ghost mansion, guarding it and forming a curved shape, causing the loss of ancestral temples and state altars by the noble. This occurs within sixty days or one hundred and eighty days.

《春秋緯》曰：“熒惑逆行，守輿鬼，成輿鬼，成勾巳，王者惡之，兵起，財帛金錢散，將軍有戰死者；若有火災，期不出年。”郗萌曰：“熒惑入輿鬼，去復還守之，期不出三年中。熒惑入若守輿鬼，為多憂，財空出，亂，臣在內，若大臣謀，有干鉞乘質者，君人憂，金玉用，民多疾，從南入，為男；北人，為女；西入，為老；東入，為丁壯。”

The Spring Annals Commentary states: When the Malefic of violence moves retrograde and guards the Ghost mansion, it travels back and forth between the Ghost mansion and draws a curved shape. The king regards this as an ominous sign, military actions arise, wealth and money are lost, and there will be generals who die in battle; or there will be fires, but the prediction does not match the year. Xi Meng says: When the Malefic of violence enters the Ghost mansion and then leaves and returns to guard it, the prediction will not exceed three years. When the Malefic of violence enters or guards the Ghost mansion, it indicates many troubles, wealth is wasted, disturbances occur, and disloyal ministers are within the court, or senior ministers have plots; if the Malefic of violence confronts the钺 star or surpasses the质 star, the sovereign will have worries, and there will be use of gold and jade, with many people suffering from illness. When the Malefic of violence enters from the south, it concerns men; from the north, women; from the west, the elderly; and from the east, those in their prime.

《河圖》曰：“熒惑入輿鬼，犯守之，天下白徒聚，土功興。”《荊州占》曰：“熒惑干犯守輿鬼，隨所守物，王者發之，不出七十日；天下有大喪，陽為人君；陰為皇后，左為太子；右為貴臣。”《荊州占》曰：“熒惑經輿鬼中，犯乘積尸者，兵在西北，有沒軍死將；久留守之，天子有喪；其以十二月主守之，下賤多死，有土功事，有德令。”

The Yellow River Chart says: The Malefic of violence enters the Ghost mansion, invades and guards it, causing the gathering of white-clothed people throughout the land and the rise of construction projects. The Jingzhou Divination says: When the Malefic of violence confronts and guards the Ghost mansion, according to the star it guards, the king should take action, and the outcome will be verified within seventy days; there will be great mourning throughout the land. The southern side, being yang, will affect the king; the northern side, being yin, will affect the queen; the eastern side, being left, will affect the crown prince; the western side, being right, will affect the high-ranking minister. The Jingzhou Divination also says: When the Malefic of violence passes through the Ghost mansion, invades and surpasses the Accumulated Corpse Cloud, military affairs will occur in the Northwest, with the complete annihilation of troops and the death of generals; if it remains stationed for a long time, the emperor will suffer mourning; if it guards it in the twelfth month, many poor and lowly people will die, there will be construction projects, and there will also be acts of benevolence and virtue.
